The thing is, why does Dragonite even want Ice Beam? Yache Dancer with Iron head at least covers its two big weaknesses type wise (Ice and Fairy). But Ice Beam...what are you doing? Emi is there some hidden value to this come teach me
In the meantime, the pilot episode of How To Induce Ragequit, with your host Slicer the Bisharp In which an otherwise useless and grossly incorrect Mew pulls this back from the jaws of defeat...against a Shed Skin Dragonair...with only Giga Drain to attack(help what is mew supposed to do).

Wherein I wreck a cocky Ghost trainer's face in.. (OU, 17 turns)
Spoiler: show Only reason I saved the replay was because of his shitty mouth near the start of the game and how he had only crow to stuff it with by game's end. Admittedly, this is not my best battled game nor was he a particularly challenging opponent. But man ... people who shittalk like that, especially so early in the game when anything could still happen, deserve a special spot in gamer Hell.

Hey, look! A Zoroark! :o (OU, 19 turns)
This guy had a unique team compared with what I have usually seen these past few days. I decided at the start of the battle that, win or lose, I'd share this one with you guys. It's not every day we get to see a Zoroark trainer.

So, I decided to play a few randbats earlier, and... It's been quite the bag of mixed goodies.
In which a slew of bad decisions cost him the game. Never even used my own togekiss... Conversely... In which I die a horrible death because WHAT DO YOU MEAN BUG BUZZ IGNORES SUBSTITUTE?! Among other things. In which a sigilyph wrecks face. All with a S. Atk. drop I didn't even realize was there, too! And finally: Lucky misses make for future kisses. *Shot* |

Decided to try making a Mega Tyranitar team from scratch just 'cause I hoped a) it might give me some ideas for the Mega Diancie squad and b) it'd give me a break from playing the same team over and over again in OU, maybe even help me learn to better appreciate what the team has got going for it.
First game. Only solitary reason it's worth sharing is so that you can all enjoy a good laugh at my expense with that Drought-less Ninetales. Whoops. I wanted Drought Ninetales as a niche answer to rain teams which I fear will otherwise curbstomp this team. Didn't want Hippowdon because it just puts too many eggs in the same basket. Figured Drought could be handy for defusing a few core threats like Aqua Jetters and Ludicolo. Bad team is very probably bad. We'll see. Using a different alt with this team so that it doesn't impact the Mega Diancie alt's Elo score. That way when I bounce back over to Mega Diancie we can know for sure what any new changes to the Mega Diancie team are doing for or against it.

So this Mega Tyranitar team I threw together is ... surprisingly good. O-o I know I'm still really low down on the ladder, only facing off against mostly scrub teams, but I'm 10 and 2 so far for games, with an Elo of 1251.
The latest game is here (OU, 11 turns), a 6-0 sweep that my opponent graciously allowed me to see to the very end. And it's not like his team had crappy Pokémon either. Serperior, whom I have used? Scizor, whom Smogon says can do no wrong? Dragonite, one of the premier OU Pokémon these last two generations? He was running some pretty good Pokémon. Gojira Dance (my stand-in nickname for the team) utterly wrecked them. Having dual weather is really, really nice. Sand and sun works very well for this specific team too. Tyranitar and Excadrill benefit from sand. Ninetales, Heatran, Clefable, and Togekiss benefit from sun. Heatran and Clefable don't mind sand. The team plays surprisingly nicely together despite competing weathers. But the most important thing about dual weathers isn't how nicely the team plays together -- it's the weather control. Or more specifically, having multiple outs to utterly shutting down enemy weather teams. Fellow sand team? Use Ninetales to ruin their day. Rain team? Laugh as their Politoed momentum can't keep up with my dual access to weather. Sun team? Tyranitar is there to make things sandy. I'm liking everyone's performance so far, but if we're to pick winners and losers, the three Pokémon I'm most happy with are Tyranitar, Clefable, and Heatran. These are some really great Pokémon and they tend to support one another really well, from what I've experienced so far. I don't fully understand it, and fear it will start to fall apart at higher levels of play. But for right now, they've got a good thing going. Excadrill is a really nice win condition in sand. Outspeeding everything save priority attacks, even without a Swords Dance boost he OHKOs or 2HKOs most things. With a Swords Dance boost, it can be gg if they don't have access to Aqua Jet or other highly damaging priority attacks. Now I'm kinda curious to see how far I can take this team. I don't want to pour all my efforts into it -- I want to, at least for now, keep that focus on the Mega Diancie team -- but if I can get this team to an Elo of 1500 or higher soon, then it might be time for me to consider looking into how I can fine tune it. Maybe this team simply has better synergy with my playstyle than other teams. *shrug* We'll see.

Out of curiosity, what's the purpose of Togekiss being on the team when you've also got Clefable?
