I had just played a game where my entire team was weak to Fire, weak to Electric, and slower than Zapdos. And he had a Zapdos out at 98% health with Heat Wave and Thunderbolt. Didn't go well, forfeit when it was 2-5.
Then the reverse happens here. It almost started off the same way again. I had a Wailord lead vs. his superior Blastoise (soon revealed to be Mega Blastoise). And my choices of switch-ins? Raichu, who beats Blastoise but lacks any bulk with which to take a launched aura attack. Three Pokémon weak to Water. (I can only remember Archeops.) And one Pokémon with defenses even shallower than Raichu's, in no position to be switched in mid-turn. Thankfully, he stayed in on Wailord rather than switching out to someone new while Wailord did nothing aside from succumbing to Toxic. This was what I was hoping would happen -- I needed a clean switch-in for Raichu, anything to get him out there and begin to turn the tide of battle to my favor. Betting that he would switch out, I went for the "free" Nasty Plot. It was a calculated risk. I had to hope that Raichu could at least survive a single Mega Launcher'd Water Pulse or other aura/pulse attack. If he couldn't ... My opponent switched out to his best possible Raichu counter -- a Dedenne. Even without his Nuzzle gift, I was proven able to 2HKO the Dedenne with just my 2x modifier from Nasty Plot and my STAB Thunderbolt. After Dedenne came Delphox. Raichu outspeeds. OHKO. It was like dominoes. Next came Tornadus-T. Then came Pidgeot. Next was Walrein. And finally ... With Blastoise dispensed, the score was 5-0. Could have easily been 0-5. Was 0-5 in my previous game.

The reason why the Dragonite set works so well is that it has Roost to heal itself. And then when it's at full HP it has Multiscale, which does it wonders. Like I just think it's super cool to see Fly of all moves used in some of the highest level competitions.

The reason why Fly is used at all is purely because its a STAB that can't be walled completely. I'm pretty sure this set was in Gen V too, just with Dragon Claw over Fly.

No the Lando set was something my friend came up with at the beginning of ORAS, but then we ditched it until we saw it again on the ladder a few weeks back. of course Dnite is better but it was a funnny moment

The mental game of RBY
205 turns, so really long battle. But it really showcases the mental game of a stall war. My biggest regret from this narrow loss is that I should've been more aggressive. There was twice during the game where if I would've picked Hyper Beam instead of Body Slam it would have put me in a much better position. Once during his Alakazam stall and the other at the very end of the game when it came down to just my Tauros and his Starmie. Really fun game, even though a large chunk was PP Stall.
