New Pokemon Revealed - Magearna
Source: Serebii
Meet Magiana, a man-made Pokemon that bares a striking resemblance to Diancie, and the newest addition to the Pokemon world. According to Serebii: Quote:
Magiana and Volcanion are to be the stars of the next Pokemon film, Volcanion and the Contriving Magiana. More info as it comes.

Looks neat and more man-made Pokémon is cool by me since I like Porygon & Castform! Maybe someday they'll be enough of 'em to be their own type lol.

Orianna is based off of Pygmalion, and I kind of think that Magiana is, too (feminine appearance, "man-made," etc.). Maybe there's a little influence on the "robotic" detail...but League isn't a thing in Japan so I doubt it!
It looks almost like one of those music-box ballerinas.

Pokemon Dwemer confirmed.
The design itself is actually pretty cute, and I do want to see its story, though I'm worried it's more Diancie-centered stuff. Which would be a letdown because Diancie has already had plenty of spotlight imo. At this point I don't really think of it being part of a possible fusion though, at least not like how it's portrayed in that sketch. Man-made fairy-looking thing fusing with a steam vent? Eh

Theory: Next Pokemon game or gen will address Pokemon that are man-made, like Porygon and Castofrm, or appear to be man-made, such as Magnemite, Klink, Bronzor, Golett, etc, and even possibly some like Trubbish, Grimer, and maybe even Mewtwo.
And Magiana is the key to all of them. But that's just a theory. Spoiler: show |

Yay, having the exact same conversation in two separate threads! -.- Too lazy to hyperlink everyone's posts from the other one, but here's the OP and here's my reply.
Cross-posting from fourteen hours ago ... It looks like a Klink-ified Diancie. Diancie looks a lot cuter to me, so I'm not really thrilled with Magiana, to be honest. Also confused and disappointed by the revelation since it either has to be a surprise missing 6th Gen Pokémon or else we really are heading towards Gen 7 without any Z or XY2 in between. Really, really confused since the whole "Zygarde Core," "Zygarde Cell" thing seemed to be obviously setting up for a Pokémon Z. In fact, I'd still say we're getting Pokémon Z. But it seems like a really bad sales move to unveil Gen 7 before you've even officially confirmed Z is a thing. Who's gonna wanna buy Z now that they know it's going to be rendered utterly obsolete in just under a year? Like, we've always known that about last-in-the-generation titles, but not with the degree of certainty that Magiana's reveal gives us. Now it's like a fact: if Z does come out, it's going to be replaced by Gen 7 inside of one year. The lore is getting too convoluted at this point. Magiana's design is clearly inspired by the PokéBall, and yet Gen 2 taught us that PokéBalls didn't even exist until very recently and that people used to use an apricorn-based predecessor to capture Pokémon. So why would a Pokémon from 500 years ago, and a man-made one at that, have a body that looks shockingly like a PokéBall? You can obviously try to explain it (e.g. "Well, maybe the guy who designed the PokéBall drew his inspiration from Magiana! "), but like I'm saying: the lore's just getting too convoluted at this point. As for something I forgot to mention this morning ... I definitely, definitely think the type will be Fairy/Steel. Magiana is what you'd expect to get if you took Diancie and robo-fied her. What they share in common is that Fairy feel, and where they differ is Diancie's mineral (Rock) aspect vs. Magiana's metallic (Steel) aspect.

I understand that it's basically the same conversation in two different threads, but since the announcement of a new Pokemon is fairly big news, I thought it deserved its own news thread.
I hope the Pokeball design is more a coincidence than anything. I also would be incredibly surprised if it was anything but Steel/Fairy (or vice versa) |

Insert eyebrow-raise, "Really? " look here. Not at the "I hope" part, but entirely at the "is a coincidence" part. No fucking way is it or can it be a coincidence. Pink (red family of hues) top, white bottom, black equator, and even those gilded bits forming the center circle in the middle ... it's a PokéBall. Intentionally so, it's a PokéBall. There's no way this was an accident.
(Never mind the fact that she's got it again in the middle segment of her body -- a PokéBall, that is.) Quote:

Un-organic design, too.

Muh-GEAR-nuh. It's not that hard to say. Kinda reminds me of saying the name MacGyver.
Also: I feel like the English name -1's the machina camp while retaining or +1'ing the magi (mage) and mana observations I made the other day.

I can imagine Magearna having something to do with the invention of the modern Poké Ball, maybe even having a signature move that improves the catch rates of your Poké Balls for five turns or something.

I actually saw an iFunny post recently featuring Magearna that was kind of cute-it featured it, Diancie, and Hoopa drawn as the Powerpuff Girls. It was really cute.
