Pokemon Movie XIII: Ho-oh and Lugia?

Early reports are saying the next Pokemovie, which had a preview at the end of the Arceus pre-screening, are saying that Ho-oh and Lugia are going to star in the next film.

Hmm, honestly, I'm not quite sure what to think of it.

Discuss.

I think Nintendo is thinking

HEY GUYS LOOK AT HO-OH AND LUGIA. THEY APPEAR IN THE NEW GAMES HEART GOLD AND SOUL SILVER. WHY NOT BUY THESE GAMES? IN FACT, BUY A COPY OF EACH GAME. OH, AND ALSO BUY AS MANY PLUSHIES AND STICKERS AND BADGES AND PENCIL CASES AND FIGURINES OF THIS NEW FIFTH GEN BABY RATTATA, AS WE'RE GOING TO BE FORCING HIM DOWN YOUR THROATS FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS.

Not neccesarily star in it, Regigigas was the main Pokemon in the Movie 12 trailer, and it hardly got a cameo.
I dunno what to think, they need to showcase some of the newer legendaries too

I'm glad they're finally doing a movie about Ho-oh. He's a seriously neglected Pokemon. I mean, WTF? It shows up in the first episode of Pokemon, then isn't explored in Johto or anywhere else.

>.< Stupid anime, being stupid.

Seeing as how movies are canon, I hope the issue of the GS Ball is finally resolved in the next film. I know they cut it out of the plot because they wanted to do a lot more with it but were pressed for time, but can't they at least resolve it? I mean seriously, nearly every Orange Islands episode began with Ash polishing the GS ball for whatever reason and they were trying hard to make it important, yet they just cut it out and dropped the issue.

I highly doubt this movie will resolve a plot line fogotten years before the target audience were even born.

The burnt tower briefly addressed Ho-Oh as well, but yeah, it's almost as neglected as Porygon2

I can't believe it's the 13th movie already. Gen I had one, IIRC, Gen II had one or two or so. Gen III must've rushed completely

Gen I had two, Gen II had three, Gen III had four and so far Gen IV has four. I'd predict this gen will have five movies, with movie 13 including a few Gen V baby/mascot Pokemon and movie 14 starring a gen V legendary.

So as the anime series continues to decline in quality, the number of movies increases?

Some of the movies haven't been bad. I enjoyed the Rayquaza/Deoxys one.

The Rayquaza/Deoxys one was terrible, and you should feel terrible.

I liked the lucario one aside from the fact ash suddenly got the ability to use aura powers.

I've not watched any of the movies since the second one (Orange Islands, with the legendary birds & Lugia). Not watched the anime since about the same time either. I keep thinking of trying to catch up with what I've missed, but the sheer volume of it puts me off. Apparently the battles have got better though; I remember the days when a 3 on 3 gym match could last all of 2 minutes (I'm looking at you, Erika!)

Read Pokemon Special.

It is far superior and much more entertaining.

I hate Star Wars: A New Hope, because Luke was already an adult when he started to use the Force and didn't have trouble mastering it and his emotions...:p

That Lucario movie was my favourite Pokemon movie I didn't watch.

Summary of Pokemovies

1: Ash dies (!), Pokemon cries, happy end, Mewtwo makes everyone forget it happened YAY
2: I want to collect things so that THE WORLD SHALL TURN TO AAAAAASH *insert climbing sequence with close ups of Ash*
3: Crystals of death eat everything as girl reaaaaally wants her parents back and creates a magical world (through the "legendary" Unown). I AM PAPA. YOU ARE MAMA.
4: Time travel, SceneryFriendshipCrySceneryFriendshipCry POSSESSED CELEBI RAWR DeathCryCryRevivalyay SAMMY = PROF. OAK WTF AWESOME!
5: Team Rocket agents actually being somewhat competent, and actually almost get the city destroyed...only to have Latios sacrifice himself to save it. But he comes back...right? Right? ._.
6: MAX IS IMPORTANT, evil blob of Groudon actually makes an interesting scene. Oh, and it has Absol in it. >_>
7: LOVE STORY DeoxysXDeoxys. Rayquaza is pissed (For some reason. Territory, seriously?) and can use Hyper Beams whenever it feels like it (which is all the time). Also covers the problems of childhood trauma .
8: WAR, Feel the aura, Time jump noooooooooo, ASH can use Aura. Save the Tree/Rock Formation/Organism thing. Regis show up, Mew almost dies, Lucario does. Actually touches on the problems of Historical accuracy O_o
9: MAY IS IMPORTANT. Ash = Michael Phelps. Manaphy speaks baby talk, renders me deaf for weeks.
10: Two gods battle above a city that is slowly being destroyed because of it. Darkrai tries to fight, while EPIC STAIRCLIMBING ensues. Seriously though, this was actually entertaining enough.
11: Shaymin is SO Arrogant. Villain want power blahblahblah. Giratina dies, oh wait, false alarm, Shaymin saves him. Regigigas stops a Glacier.
12: I AM A GOD. (haven't seen yet)
13: About time Ho-oh shows up.

Note: All of the above have a flying scene of some sort, Ash running into a barrier, crying scenes, or any combination of these. (Except maybe 10...I can't remember)

I love these movies. They're so bad, but they all have their moments. The movies generally have great climaxes, but are surrounded by so much crap that it takes some serious will power to even get to it.

Yeah seriously. I guess it takes a remake to get people loving Ho-oh again. There's a reason its got its own post icon, because it kicks ass.
