In other news, the third episode was pretty good. Two things that put me off a little were:

Tenzins lack of involvement in the episode - I definitely want to see more of him. Also, that they're setting Amon up as so evil when, frankly, he has a fair point.

Episode 4 has aired~ I'm warming up to Asamako as in they literally are a "couple" now. It's sad to see Korra so jealous. Although Bolin is soooo cute trying to win her over~

Episode four was not fantastic. This series definitely isn't anywhere near as good as Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Although a lack of bitchiness in Korra for the first part of the episode was refreshing.

This just seems to have a completely different vibe. I dunno. There's a disjunction that is unsettling to me. Like Tdos said, everything is moving too fast.

The show is only like 27 episodes long or something, so there really won't be that much filler.

I liked Ep. 4, had no problem with it, probably one of the best eps so far. Still miss ATLA though.

I find it odd that you'd insinuate the first four episodes of Avatar contained any filler. Indeed, Avatar: the Last Airbender is one of the most filler-free Western cartoons I've ever seen in my life. There are very, very few genuine fillers where everything that happens in the episode has no relation to either the events which came before it or the events which have yet to come, a.k.a. you could remove that episode from someone's viewing of Avatar and it'd have ~zero impact.

As for the show, can't weigh in. I've made my decision: definitely waiting for this one to be all the way out.

Talon, why do you wait to watch a show in it's entirety? I mean, I understand the ability to watch it all in one go, but you really do miss out on the discussions and speculation in the mean time. Being able to wait a week for a new episode can be a bummer, but it gives you something to look forward to once a week...

I mean, you're almost done with MLP, for example, and at this point it will probably be a year before you catch Season 3. Your discussions around each episode, while nice, are quite honestly playing catch up in what we've already talked about and discussed. I think it would be cooler and add more to talk about if you did so with all of us as it all happens...

That's just my opinion, and I just wanted to share it. If this is something you really won't give any thought to then that's fine

Well, if you watch on a week by week basis, you can see an episode and think "This seemed pointless." But as you said, Avatar used almost every episode resulting in very little filler.

But when I first saw the Kyoshi warriors episode, it felt like filler (which is episode four). Especially most of the things involving Aang in that episode. All he did was fool around. If Suki and the Kyoshi warriors didn't show up again, it pretty much would have been. The first Jet episode felt like filler, but then Jet came back and went crazy. In fact, the Jet episode was the first episode I was shown by my friend and he said within the first half of the episode, "Oh man, sorry to show you a filler episode."

None of the Korra episodes have FELT like filler. Each episode has shown us something new about either Korra or the setting and will definitely have an impact on the greater plot.

As I said, I don't really expect them to have any with how short the series is going to be (although that could change if Nick wanted to milk their cash cow and ordered more episodes).

My biggest gripe with the show though...

I wish we would get out of Republic City and take a look at how the rest of the world has changed. Ba Sing Se, the Fire Nation, the Northern Water Tribe, Omashu... etc. Sure, a new huge city is nice and all, but it's just... I would like to see something else now, I'm already tired of the early to mid-1900's setting.
