Pokemon Generations: New short form anime coming to YouTube
Official Trailer
"The new animated series Pokémon Generations revisits each generation of the Pokémon video game series to shed new light on some timeless moments. From the earliest days in the Kanto region to the splendor of the Kalos region, go behind the scenes and witness Pokémon history with new eyes! These bite-sized adventures, about 3 to 5 minutes long, will be released every week through December 23, 2016." This trailer was a Rollercoaster of emotions for me. Finding out they are only 3-5 minutes long was like being slapped by the person of your dreams right after they finally said "I love you". |

It only being 3-5 minutes long is a total bummer.

This is really quite spectacular fan fapping by Gamefreak and I am super excited for how incredibly disappointing it is going to be.
Maybe you shippers will finally get to see the romance you desperately want these children to have for some reason, only without the bit where someone goes to hell. |

I for one am looking forward to these. Even if they're not gonna be especially long, they still seem like they'll be enjoyable nonetheless.

Even though they're supposed to be really short I know I'm going to looooove them. Kind of like how I wished Origins was longer but I looooooved that.

I was rewatching origins, and red starts off with the running shoes.

Looking forward to each video getting 25,000,000+ views while the ShoPro Sun & Moon anime featuring Ash crashes and burns on Hawaii's sandy shores, only because it will be the "money talks" proof we need to get ShoPro to realize that their trajectory with the Ash anime is over and it's time to either retire Pokémon from the airwaves (sad face ) or else to give the fans what they want.
Quite looking forward to a more detailed Red vs. Blue battle. I adored Origins, but yes, it was much too rushed; and the Red vs. Blue battle in Origins is only two minutes long. (It begins with Red ordering Jolteon to use Thunder and ends with Blastoise's fainting confirmed by the HP bar.) Mathed another way, it's five minutes. (Beginning with Green/Blue greeting Red as he arrives in the chamber, and ending with the door to the Hall of Champions opening before Oak and Red.) ... Except wait a second. "3 to 5 minutes long" each? How exactly is this going to be any different then from what we already had with Origins? What's the point in re-doing the Red vs. Blue battle when, at five minutes in total length, it's going to be the exact same scene all over again only perhaps with new creatures in the brief padding before the Blastoise vs. Charizard showdown? Still, even if Generations isn't going to give me a better Red vs. Blue fight, I can at least ask it to give me equivalents to Origins' champion fight for all the other regions' emotional equivalents. I would map these out as follows, personally:

The takeaway I personally had from the trailer was that it's going to be Red-centric as the protagonist for every region/story, given he is seen confronting Zygarde, his Pikachu facing Regigigas, and outrunning a Noivern. I'm not sure if we will see Gold vs Red due to this.

Really hoping we get to see Rayquaza calm Kyogre and Groudon. That animated cutscene in Emerald gave 7 year old me chills it was so cool and innovative for the franchise.
Would probably be neat to see all of the Pokemon World Tournament in BW2, some misc. "Evil Team not looking like utter clowns" in all the gens, the fight against Cynthia in Sinnoh, the Gen II Gym battle against Blue/Green from Johto, and from XY the final Lysandre battle as well |

Looking at the trailer, I get the general impression that these shorts are untold stories from each generation. Stories that we, as the player, could not have experienced in their respective games... kinda like PMD Sky's Special Episodes where the story focused on another character. I mean, look at what they've featured so far:
As for Red, he kinda technically counts as an NPC in the other regions since he's not the MC there. So far it looks like he's there to encounter the non-plot important legendaries. (Regigigas and 100% Zygarde) Also, there's no way this thing will not have a Sun/Moon tie-in somehow. Last edited by uhhhhh; 09-14-2016 at 01:28 AM. |

Hey, maybe the Lance's Dragonite vs. Red Gyarados thing will finally confirm that one theory that Lance started investigating the whole thing because the Team Rocket radio waves caused all of his Dragonair to prematurely evolve, which would explain his use of underleveled Dragonite.

Charizard bond phenomenon where it's Fire/Fighting, presumably.

Well, the first two episodes are up on YouTube. Thus far I like what I see. They managed to make Probopass look awesome, too.

Meh.
These bite-sized short stories are such cock teases for what we could have. Instead we get more Ash. I liked the little things, like the utility of Magnemite as a partner, or how Probopass used attacks. |

...Eh. I liked the first one better, the battle sequences were super tight but I was expecting more of a cohesive story out of these things. Which is what we got in the second one but it felt a little cheesy to me.

I'm kinda starting to want a Probopass in Fizzy Bubbles now.

Probo was cool, the short nature made everything too fast and I also didn't like the random legends everywhere.
