So much agreement.
I'll always prefer tea to coffee. One of the guys I lived with last year and I had this debate at least once a week (he had this coffee maker which automatically came on and made him coffee so it was ready when he got up every morning) but he's insane. He gets the shakes if he misses his morning coffee. Tea and I have a much more healthy relationship.

I don't like green tea. I've tried and tried to get accustom to it because of the "health benefits" but it's never stuck.
I like black coffee and black tea pretty much evenly. Deviating from that black gold standard is yuck.

I love both quite a bit, but I love more kinds of tea, so that broke the tie.
I drink both for enjoyment, too, since caffeine actually has an opposite effect on me. |

As a side point, I might point out that tea is (mostly) bad in America, which might influence opinions a bit.
We have to keep our friends in VA well-stocked on various British foodstuffs. Mostly teabags and certain kinds of biscuits. |

I prefer tea, but coffee is growing on me.
For coffee, the smell is great, but the taste is bleh. I'm beginning to like ice coffee, it makes my stomach feel refreshed after drinking it (if that makes any sense). |

I suppose I should vote Coffee, but that would imply that I like HOT coffee. Truth is I think it's gross. I don't understand the appeal to coffee honestly. Iced coffee, on the other hand, is amazing. Any iced coffee I drink is ordered decaf (who knows what I receive, really), because the caffeine plus the sugar I add make my eye twitch.
As for tea, I love iced tea. I also have some mint tea I brew when I have trouble sleeping, and that's tasty with honey. |

getting decaf coffee is like ordering brown water.

It's possible to get good tea in the US, apparently.

In my experience you can, it's just wildly expensive compared to similar quality tea over here.

Well that's because Britain can simply mine tea from the Yorkshire dales, whereas the Americans have to import it.
