Radiant Historia
Anybody know anything about this game? The "tactical roleplaying game" article on Wikipedia made mention of it, and it sounded awesome, so I'm surprised I haven't heard of it before.
Radiant Historia also has a weirdly high Metacritic score, for what it's worth: nothing below a positive review. Last edited by Amras.MG; 09-05-2012 at 09:09 PM. |

Actually, I saw it in Nintendo Power a long time ago. And from the way they described it, I've wanted it since.

I have it. Haven't finished it yet, but pretty far along, and I have to say, it's really, really good. Granted, I haven't played games with similar mechanics that are already out there (ie. Chrono Trigger, which I also need to get to), the story is good, the characters are good, but where it truly shines is the battle system. Just really unique. Look up youtube videos to see if it's something you'd enjoy.

After looking up Youtube videos on it, I have "acquired" this game. Well give it a test run soon.
I'm glad to hear you like it Deebs, the grid system is very cool. Like a mashup of tactical isometric grid games and Chrono Trigger combat. |

Unsolicited update! I have played about an hour and a half of this game... and holy shit. It is amazing.
The plot is fantastic, the music is wonderful, and the battle system is already pretty in-depth (and I'm Lv. 4). |

I played this ages ago. Be prepared to be shocked by how short the game is.

I haven't picked it up for about six months (a bad habit once I get another game, backlog is huge), but I don't recall it being too short. Or at least I wasn't bothered by length.

9 hours in. This game... oh man. So good. I just found out you can skip cutscenes you've already watched with Start!
Anybody know if they've made a sequel or prequel to this game? |

There isn't a direct link to any other game, but it is a sort of spiritual successor to Radiata Stories seeing as the two games shared dev team members. Also name similarities. Haven't played that game though.

I know that no one cares, but I am still playing this game... and holy crap it is amazing. I absolutely love it. I'm about 30 hours in I think.

I considered picking up this game but I was in a "I PLAY POKEMON SPEEDYDOUBLEPLUSFAST" mood so I didn't have the patience to read a lot of text.
Is it worth it for me to try again? |

You should definitely pick it up again, especially if you liked Chrono Trigger. It is amazing.

I LOVE Chrono Trigger, and if this game is anything like it, I will be picking it up at the first possible moment.

You should definitely find a copy, Namek. I was able to find it online easily because I am poor, but I also know that there was a reprint of the game because demand was high enough, so it shouldn't be too hard to find a legitimate copy.
