I need people to be early Pokemon, too. Like possibility of Pidgey, Rattata, Mankey, Spearow (maybe, I do like Farfetch'd), and the bugs

idk who or what you use me as, just try not to kill me.
Edit, I guess I'll update. I just defeated surge in Heart Gold, was relatively simple, except for the wtf Magnet Bomb OHKO of Kuno. ;; that was going to be the 4th gym he'd soloed, damn that Magneton. caught Kairne the Magnemite outside of Vermillion, but after Kuno died just haven't been into it really. Afterwards, Rangeet and I_D wrapped things up, but Rangeet was also nearly killed by a crit shockwave, he lived with 2 HP though. anyway, team ASB after vermillion I_D (Gloom) Lv.59 Rangeet (Machoke) Lv.50 Quintowill (Girarafig) Lv.56 Brandan (Gyarados) Lv.52 Stblk (Skarmory) Lv.51 ... I don't know who to add here? Dead Daisy (Beedrill) Lv.32 Firewater (Noctowl) Lv.48 Weebos (Nidoking) Lv.45 DTFG (Slowpoke) Lv.35 ABL (Persian) Lv.31 Kratos (Drowzee) Lv.22 Muyo (Dragonair) Lv.34 EmpoleonDynamite (Ampharos) Lv.46 Kush (Typlosion) Lv.45 Roseheart (Voltorb) Lv.23 SP.Eevee (Weepingbell) Lv.43 Treep (Tentacruel) Lv.45 Kuno (Graveler) Lv.52 Last edited by Firewater; 11-27-2011 at 03:16 PM. |

Going to start a HG Nuzlocke. Will be going by these rules:
-No starter (Get rid of starter once first mon is caught) -No duplicates VM me or something if you want to be named as a mon. Edit: Started it last night. So I picked my starter, a Totodile, so that my rival would have a Chikorita and breezed through the beginning part which was talking to Mr. Pokemon and Oak, followed by an epic level 5 showdown with Silver. After getting mah ballz I went into the grass to catch some pokemanz. Ended up finding a Hoothoot, whom I named Noctum. After training him a little, I went into Route 46 hoping to find a Geodude, instead I found a shitty Rattata, Ronan. When I arrived at Cherrygrove we said goodbye to the Totodile and headed into Route 30 where we found a Spinarak, cool I've never had one before. After weakening it a bit with Noctum, I switched to Ronan to weaken it even more, except Ronan critted that little spider to death D:. Moving even further we came across a wild Hoothoot with a decent level at the time. I sent in Ronan since he was still level 2 and needed the exp but the rat was critted to death, Karma's a bitch. Moving even further, we found another Spinarak (yay) which was successfully caught and named Spira. In Dark Cave, I caught a Geodude which I named Blaze because Blaze wanted to be a rock. Stopped after arriving at Violet City. Team: Noctum - Level 7 Hoothoot (M) Spira - Level 4 Spinarak (F) Blaze - Level 2 Geodude (M) Dead: Ronan - Level 2 Rattata (M)

What levels do you guys usually grind to for a LeafGreen Nuzlocke?
I have the following Pokemon right now: Charizard Lv. 55 (partially EV trained in Sp. Att) Kadabra Lv. 55 (partially EV trained on Sp. Att) Tentacruel Lv. 55 (partially EV trained in Sp. Att) Snorlax Lv. 51 (will be partially EV trained in Att) Sandslash Lv. 51 (will be partially EV trained in Att) I'm thinking I'll challenge the E4 when Snorlax and Sandslash are Lv. 55. Thoughts? A lot of stuff happened. Basically I got the first 4 badges and a lot of pokemon died (mostly because of critical hits D: ). In one incident, I was battling this guy with a Slowpoke. He setted up with Curse about five times while I kept Leering it to cancel out the defense boost but his attack was so crazy that it swept half my team before I killed it D:. I also traded back and forth with an old comp. friend to evolve Blaze the Graveler into a Golem so he can live to his fullest potential . I'm not sure of what I should evolve Eevee into. I'm thinking an Umbreon since it's bulky but then he would've be that useful against Chuck. At the moment I'm just grinding before I face Chuck.
Team: Millie - Level 29 Milktank (F) Blaze - Level 26 Golem (M) Aquaman - Level 21 Quagsire (M) Shuckle - Level 20 Shuckle (M) Frodo - Level 16 Oddish (M) Bud - Level 5 Eevee (M) Boxed: Kara - Level 20 Magikarp (F) Zuzu - Level 6 Zubat (F) Fleur - Level 6 Hoppip (F) Burgh - Level 10 Caterpie (M) Paola - Level 20 Poliwag (F) Tentacles - Level 15 Tentacool (M) Dead: Ronan - Level 2~4 Rattata (M) Oliver - Level 5~12 Gastly (M) Omlet - Level 1~15 Togepi (M) Spira - Level 3~15 Spinarak (F) Scrambles - Level 9~11 Exeggcute (F) Swagsire - Level 6~17 Wooper (M) Artemis - Level 13~15 Stantler (F) Noctum - Level 2~19 Hoothoot (M) Teach - Level 12~22 Nidorino (M) Helios - Level 14~24 Growlithe (M)

Just beat Gary. No deaths in E4.
Winning team: 1. LAMBDA, Sandslash Lv. 55 @ Quick Claw (Adamant) Aerial Ace, Rock Slide, Secret Power, Earthquake 2. GAMMA, Kadabra Lv. 58 @ Leftovers (lol why not) (Rash) Psychic, Shock Wave, Psybeam, Recover 3. THETA, Snorlax Lv. 55 @ Leftovers (Lax haha) Body Slam, Hyper Beam, Shadow Ball, Brick Break 4. XI, Charizard Lv. 57 @ Charcoal (Impish) Flamethrower, Dragon Claw, Secret Power, Brick Break 5. PSI, Tentacruel Lv. 58 @ Mystic Water (Docile) Surf, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Giga Drain 6. HM Slave Doduo that Flew me around using magic. The extra levels on Charizard, Alakazam, and Tentacruel are due to Rare Candy usage after I had finished grinding (I forgot I had them). Snorlax and Tentacruel were by far the MVPs of the E4. I usually ended up just tanking stuff with Snorlax since he had great type coverage and defense, and because I didn't want to risk anyone at all. Weirdly enough, my biggest scare came when using Snorlax against Lorelei's Lapras. Lapras was Confuse-spamming me, and then it critted with Ice Beam; Snorlax went down to 2 HP and was Frozen! Luckily I had Full Restores, so I Trollfaced her and went on to slay it. Graveyard: UFOwnage, Magnemite Lv. 22-22 Stoma, Hitmonlee Lv. 25-30 Margarine, Caterpie Lv. 4-4 Plaguo, Rattatta Lv. 4-4 Lady Gaga, Grimer Lv. 28-32 |

What the hell sort of Nuzlock allows the use of healing items mid-battle? I don't even Nuzlock and even I do that when I'm trying for a more challenging Pokémon experience.
That stated, congratulations.

Using healing items mid-battle was an optional rule. I think the only time I ever did it was during the E4, actually - I almost never use healing items. Also, this was my first Nuzlocke, so I was nervous about making it too hard. |

I'll say it once and I'll say it again.
The only thing that defines a Nuzlocke are these rules: 1) When a Pokemon faints, it's dead. 2) First Pokemon on a route, no others. As long as you have those two or some variation of that, it's a Nuzlocke. Whatever other rules you have don't matter. |

I didn't say it isn't a Nuzlocke, Jerrykins. I asked what the hell kind of Nuzlocke allows you to use items mid-battle. Because it doesn't seem like much of a challenge. And the point of a Nuzlocke, typically, is the challenge.

Your opinion has been noted, Talon. It's a shame the game I'm playing for fun doesn't live up to your standards.

Hey: I wasn't trying to (keep) ragging on you, but Jeri just had to come along and act like Mr. Know It All, "teaching" me what a Nuzlocke is when (fucking lol) I think we all by now have (multiple copies of) the Nuzlocke JPG schematics and whatnot that are oh so often posted on imageboards and Pokemon communities. So I had to say something.

I'm only going for if it faints it dies, no duplicates, and every team member has to be a UPN'er. I haven't had any need for items tho.

I Understand Your Frame Of Mind In Bringing This To Attention, But I Must Point Out That When A Single Defeat Removes A Pokemon From Your Roster Entirely, The Few Recovery Items Which You Can Garner With Funds Typically Made Shallow As A Kiddie Pool Via The Purchace Of As Many Implements Of Capture As Possible Do Little To Alleviate The Difficulty Of Mortal Combat Which Disallows Chaining Attacks From Multiple Sources To Prevent The Defeat Of A Particularly Frail Character (I Refer, Of Course, To The Game With Emblems Of Fire).

Going to be starting a Nuzlocke soon, and I wish for clarification: in caves, buildings, places with floors, do each count as a new area? Or only one 'mon per building?

It's mostly under your own discretion but what PH said is what most people go by. My HG Nuzlocke has been pretty boring so I haven't been playing. Not sure if I'll continue it later on or not.

However, for B/W, most people count Pinwheel Forest's, well, Forest area seperate from the area with the Challenge Rock.
