"Don't worry Jean! I'll get you out of there!" He called, recalling Jean into her Pokeball and sending the white furred Zangoose out in her place. "Alright Vander, no funny business. Let's get this done once and for all." The Zangoose pushed it's paws together, mimicking the motion people used for cracking their fingers and knuckles. The cat ferret Pokemon looked around, observing the battlefield for a few moments before quickly running in. "H-hey! Vander! I said to listen!" Isaac called, watching as the Zangoose ran in full force. Going for a Fire Punch, followed by a Low Kick, and finishing it's combo with a Fury Cutter. Isaac grumbled, why had he ever accepted Vander from Will in the first place? It wasn't like he listened to him. He pushed his hands into his pockets and just hoped that Vander knew what he was doing.

More and more Icy Wind had been exhaled by Mega Abomasnow, lowering the temperature of the environment further as well as reducing everyone's Speed and reflexes, but this did not deter the Sableye as it used some tricky Dark-type moves to deal bonus damage due to various conditions being met for each move, particularly Mega Abomasnow's stat changes, before being pounded to the ground by its Wood Hammer just like the Delibird was. At that point, the Inkay, as well as a Pokemon belonging to Alex were next to engage, the latter being a lithe monkey with various golden armaments on its body as well as a flame at the top of its head. Both of them used moves that would normally drop stats as a price for using them, but due to the Inkay's Contrary ability as well as the other Pokemon using an odd power to Role Play that ability temporarily they were gaining stats from these moves instead of losing them; incidentally, that meant they were gaining Speed from all those Icy Wind attacks Mega Abomasnow was doing. Next to enter the battle was a Pokemon Hyrem assumed was Akame since Gary was with her, but she was no longer a Pawniard; instead, it seemed she evolved into a Pokemon that basically looked like a taller Pawniard with more vicious blades than before. "Nice, I'll have to visit Gary again so I can see her sometime!" he said as he watched Akame put her new blades to good use, her type effective attacks looking much stronger than before and able to deal real damage to Mega Abomasnow. Joining Akame would be a Sylveon and a Tynamo, who used lots of light-based attacks to distract the monster, although one big Blizzard blasted all of the Pokemon who had most recently attacked it, none of them being frozen from it but still dealing loads of damage across the board as well as making the trainers with them much more uncomfortable. Vi would be jumping back into the fray soon, but before that a Shuppet would have her chance at the monster by Sneaking around it and attacking from its Shadow with some Gunk Shots that would damage it further until it had had enough and Ice Punched her away. Vi took this chance to charge in again and Punched the Mega Abomasnow, getting a much needed Power-Up to her Attack in the process. She then noticed as a Pokemon that looked like a sumo wrestler also joined in with her own Power-Up Punch as well as a Sneasel with her fast and Quick Attack and knew she had the perfect Pokemon to team up on the Mega Abomasnow. Jumping down to one leg, and the Sneasel on the other, they managed to trip up the monster with two well-placed Low Kicks before the Sneasel leaped up for an Iron Tail to knock it further off balance. However, the monster's attack would go off and put the three Pokemon under a very intense Blizzard that they were able to weather through more or less...for the moment. Having heard some strange Drum beats earlier, Vi was surprised to see a Snorlax be the next to join in, his Belly showing some odd bruises, but she dismissed the thought for the moment as she started to concentrate on her next attack. With arms in an X-shape and wreathed in flames, she was surprised to see the Hariyama with her do the same but went along with it, the two Fighting-types jumping together to land their Crossfire attacks in tandem while the Snorlax landed a solid hit of his own with Drain Punch. It was at that point that Mega Abomasnow blew another Blizzard at the Pokemon, Vi included, but while the other two Pokemon were able to weather it with their Thick Fat Hyrem watched as Vi crossed her arms again to try to brave the attack until it passed, after which point her movement simply...stopped. "...Vi?" he asked, still holding on to Happy to keep his own body safe from the cold, but started to stand up when he noticed she still wasn't moving. As he looked closer, he could see a layer of ice over her entire body, Freezing her in place, though her head seemed barely able to move as the Blaziken struggled to break herself free from her prison. At that point, Hyrem ignored the next few Pokemon stepping in and gently set his Flareon down, his breathing quickened as his own body struggled to stay warm. "Hang in there, big girl," he said weakly, slowly walking towards her, with Happy at his heels trying to pull him back to safety as another Blizzard threatened to stop him in his tracks completely. It was right as he reached Vi that he could make out the words Athena was shouting out: “Guys, watch out! I think it knows we’re close, and it’s trying to take all of us and the whole mountain down with it! It’s now or never, everyone! We’ve got to take it out before that avalanche kills us and everyone on the mountain below us!” Happy then noticed his mate and kids rushing up to him, Kehili tackling him causing him to wince from his injuries earlier along with Kai calling him an idiot which made him wince even more. "Well, maybe I am an idiot, but...I figured it was better me than you, you weren't going to last much longer even if you did Endure the attack," he said before Kai sat down next to him and whispered to him her thanks. He rested his head on his paws before looking at her, a small chuckle coming out of him before he replied with a smile, "Heh, no problem." Now facing his Blaziken, he could feel her warm breath getting heavy as she was starting to get tired. "There's no time...I have to think of something...wait, I got it! Hang in there!" Hyrem suddenly had a surge of energy as he looked through his bag for the Aspear Berry he got from the gift earlier in the morning. "Here, eat this," he said, bringing the fruit right up to her mouth and carefully putting it in once she opened it. As she closed her beak and started chewing, the sour juices started to dribble out of her mouth as she enjoyed it before swallowing. "...Blaziken," she said with a smirk before everything around her not only defrosted but also exuded steam as her Blaze ignited from all the battle stress she had been going through, and she hugged her trainer, making him much warmer than he had ever been throughout the entire ordeal. "Hey Vi...now's the time," he whispered to her. "We haven't done much training with it, but...it's all or nothing at this point...let's do this!" He held up his Z-Ring to Vi's face, at which point she held the Firium Z up before clenching it in her fist and using her other hand to turn her trainer around, both of them ready to help deal the finishing blow the best way they knew possible: their new Z-Move, Inferno Overdrive. All of us, we still have a lot of fight left. Guntz was brilliant too - he recovered a lot of the damage he inflicted upon himself after that Belly Drum, and hit his Superpower on the mark. We... we can win this! For a moment, he managed to push the image of that dreadful Absol to the back of his mind, and concentrated on the final stretch of the battle once again. Because despite the accumulated injuries, the Mega Evolved giant had gone into a berserker rage, and could still very well overwhelm them if they weren't decisive immediately! Everyone is giving it their all, tapping into the power of their Z-Moves... All we have is Bloom Doom, but that won't work on Abomasnow half as well as it did against Glalie. With the sheer amount of destruction about to be unleashed on a single location all at once, Rorik knew it was unwise to order Guntz back into close-range combat. He could still make the most of that Belly Drum from a distance, and more importantly, they could also provide backup to those with the real firepower. "Guntz! Fall back, move away from the enemy," he yelled, determined to make himself heard above all the ruckus. "Blow out a Flamethrower towards Gary's Typhlosion to give it a boost, then strike at Abomasnow from a distance with consecutive Rock Slides!" This was it. If they failed to take down the beast here, they would all be too exhausted to put up any more resistance, and it would be their doom. But for some reason, Rorik wasn't afraid anymore - truth be told, he was thrilled!

Eventually, it manages to hit them with Blizzard, but Eskil has hope that Khione’s Ice typing will spare her the worst of the damage. The onslaught of attacks from the group of trainers seems to finally be wearing the monster down, and it appears to realize that it is fighting a losing battle. Instead of letting everyone continue to back it into a corner, the Abomasnow tries a different strategy. Taking the mountain--and everyone on it--down with it. It is a desperate tactic, but that doesn’t make it any less dangerous. The group doesn’t stand a chance against an avalanche--to say nothing of any populated areas in the path. Everyone, both human and Pokemon, on the mountain is now in grave danger. Eskil doesn’t know what to do, other than panic. Khione is surviving better than he thought she would, but that doesn’t mean much if they are buried under tons of snow. Tactics flee his mind as he visualizes the worst case scenarios. “Stop spacing out! We’re short on time here!” Nyx's snarl snaps him out of his frozen panic. The Liepard glares up at him, and he realizes she understands just how dire this situation is becoming as well. “R-right.” Eskil shakes off the gripping fear. All around them, others are calling out their commands. While he doesn’t have a Z-move to contribute to the growing number of them, that didn’t mean he should stand there and do nothing. “Khione, give it everything you’ve got! Pursue that Abomasnow and then hit it with a Power-Up Punch and Iron Tail!” His desperate call joins the others. Let this be enough to end it! he wishes fervently. The outcome if they fail doesn’t bear thinking about. (Member Post) |

Erupting into a plume of intense fire, the Infernape blasted the spike with incredible heat, and what should normally be mentally exhausting seemed to have the opposing effect, Nothung appearing more determined. The Abomasnow definitely felt that one, however, and shook around trying to dislodge the Infernape, and the unstable ground eventually sent him tumbling off, only managing to get a partial strike with Close Combat, though he felt himself more resilient. Flailing as he fell, the Infernape opted to simply land in the snow and crawl to safety, despite the Abomasnow's blasts of frigid air. He was already heated up, and was ready for round two. "It's getting weary, shouldn't take too much more of an assault. I have to give it credit, it's much more formidable than I would have given for..." Alex calmly stated, as the onslaught of attacks finally seemed to be doing something. As if realising it was going to lose, the colossus turned to the mountainside with a bellow and began to slam fists into it. This had the effect of the ground trembling, as Athena warned them of the dangers: if this continued, the mountainside would collapse, bringing them all down the side, and the avalanche from it would level the town beneath. "Crap, we need to hit it hard, now! Nothung, hold nothing back! Fall back and nail it with a fire blast, followed by a focus blast, then slam it with another full-force overheat before it tears this place down!" |

She was shivering beneath all her layers- having never been around an Ice Type's battle before, she had little reason to guess that it'd be this bad... 'Honestly, it's easy to see why so much of the Cloud Garden fell so quickly...' Did the raiding party have to fight more beasts like this? No, those thoughts are irrelevant now, when the last stretch was so plainly in sight, and certainly not when Elen had so much extra power to work with! "A-a-a-all, r-right, time to g-give this m-m-mess one f-f-final sh-shove! Sh-sh-shred the t-tyrant's skin w-w-with a s-series of S-slashes th-th-that can c-cleave through th-the v-v-very N-night!" From where she stood, Chroma couldn't tell if the inkay had given any sign of acknowledgement, but was certain that he'd try his best to play his part regardless of whether he heard her or not. Of course, that best was probably hindered by his higher sensitivity to the frigid temperature, but them's the breaks, really... Was it even night-time? It was pretty hard to tell with all of the snow clouds perpetually blocking out the sun's rays, but it probably wasn't. This little war couldn't have lasted a full day yet, could it? |

A landslide. Or would it be an avalanche? Both, maybe? Tate didn't want to die here, in this frozen hellscape, at the hands of an angry Abomasnow. Hell, if it were up to Tate, the Ice-types might have been allowed to just take over the Cloud Garden. This had long since become a matter of personal survival, however, and Tate was going to make sure that the whole family -- Kai, the twins, Pahalo and Kauka, Pouli, and Tate -- all made it out of here intact.

“Glitch!” she cried, as she thrust its Pokéball in its direction. “Get back here!” As the beam of light from the ball reached the Pokémon and retrieved it back in it, Mélina looked and patted on it, with a sad but relieved expression. “You can’t be like this,” she whispered, “not there, not now. Get some rest buddy, stay safe.” While still starting at Glitch’s pocket-sized home, the trainer’s gears in her mind turned and ticked. She wondered what should be doing next, with her Virtual Pokémon not suitable for battle anymore. None of her other Pokémon were very much suited against an Ice and Grass type. She raised her head to watch the current situation… and her jaw dropped. The Abomasnow was now shouting and stomping with all its might, trying in a last-minute desperate ditch to take everyone down with it - by destroying the mountain triggering a gigantic avalanche with it. Mélina realized how bad that situation was before Athena spelled it out to everyone. “We need to take him down, and fast.” Mélina’s gears kept on spinning. Obviously, Glitch couldn’t go back there. Soleil doesn’t have any moves that would be advantageous against it. Lune could have some firepower against it thanks to Fairium Z, but it wouldn’t be that effective. Same goes with Starlette, but even worse: she isn’t a fairy type, so her attack wouldn’t be as effective. Catalina, on the other hand… it definitely had the strength to pull off a good final punch with her Rockium Z… but trainer was worried that its ice weakness would hamper it badly, and that the move would be a bit too powerful with... possible dangerous repercussions due to its nature. As for everyone else in her team, they were way too young and inexperienced, there was no way they could be a viable option. Pensively, she looked down at the side of her backpack, staring at the space-themed Pokéball. “...Let’s go out with a bang. Catalina, I need you again!” After Mélina pulled out and threw the Space Ball, the Minior materialised, spinning energetically. “Ok,” the trainer sighed to let some stress out of her chest, “We’re gonna have to give our all on this one. And I mean everything we got. If we don’t go all out, who knows how much damage this thing will do… permanently!” “Miiiiiii,” Catalina grunted in a serious tone, albeit with difficulty as it was munching on one of Mélina’s many Sweet Heart cookies to recover from the damage made from Delibird earlier. It realised how grave the times were, and desperate times needs desperate measures. “We need him to be off this mountain, or that he faints… whichever’s faster. First, since Power is the name of the game here, wake up and gather that Ancient strength of yours and blast it on him. Maybe that power would boost you up, too… Next...” she paused, still gathering her ideas to make up the plan, “we’ll be using this.” She pulled her Rockium Z crystal, which fittingly enough, she received it at the same time as Catalina, from the Springtime Pyukumuku. “Use your Ancient Power again, and I'll sync up with you, so you'll be able to unleash a Continental Crush on the Abomasnow. The only thing I ask related to it is that you try to push him off the mountain with it, and not into it. We...” she worriedly bit her bottom lip before laughing nervously, “don’t want to mess up with the mountain, or worse, accelerate what he’s trying to do. And finally… this is going to be tricky. If all this and everyone else’s help isn’t enough to take him down or push him away… stay away from him, and wait for a moment that no other Pokémon is near him, or at least a spot where nobody’s around. When that moment arrives, I want you to fly as fast as you can towards him, right up to that vacant spot… and when you’re right at him, use every single bit of energy you have and unleash it against him, even if it means to Self-Destruct.” A moment of silence passed. “Are… you ok with this? It’s a very tricky and risky plan, and you definitely are going to faint at one point or another, whenever from being hit by an ice attack or by that last move… but it’s really the best I can think of, for the sake of everyone’s lives.” Mélina solemnly looked down at her feet. “I’ll do my best to bring you back in your Pokéball as soon as possible, I don’t want you to risk you to anything beyond fainting. Do… do you want to do this?” After another long pause in which the Minior stared at its trainer’s eyes, Catalina sharpened theirs and determinedly pivoted its body forward, as a nod. It was time to rock the Abomasnow’s world, quite literally. “Then I think it's time we blow this thing. Three, two, one... let's jam.” Last edited by OkikuMew; 01-28-2018 at 11:11 AM. |

The two got up with a renewed rage, Kong more so than the Delibird. It was time to end this. Lucas clutched tighter onto the X-Mas ball he was holding while the Slaking charged towards the Delibird. He raised an arm, cackling electricity coursing through his fist, before sending it crashing into the short dumpy figure and knocking the Delibird back for a third time. ’Now’, Lucas thought. He took a stance and pitched the Christmas Pokéball. The spinning sphere whizzed past the frenzied Slaking to intercept his next attack, striking his opponent before Kong could deliver another Thunder Punch to the poor Delibird. The custom-themed ball absorbed the Pokémon into the confines of the small capsule, plopping in the snow where it shook vigorously. Both Kong and Lucas tentatively watched from a short distance. The ball shook once, then twice. A third shake and the Pokéball stirred passionately one last time before giving a definitive click and shutting of the blinking light. ’Succes!’ Lucas picked up the ball containing his quirky new partner. “I think I’m going to call you Post.” Kong gave a snubbing snort, still somewhat irked at the Delibird and his Presents. “Relax Kong, in time I’m sure he’ll adapt. For now though, we still have to figure out what role he can fulfil on the team. Maybe-“ They were interrupted by the Abomasnow below smashing its arms into the cliff, cracking the base in pain. The tremor nearly knocked the group off of their feet and Lucas’ hand slipped from the Christmas Pokéball. All the Delibird in the area had evacuated to safety as Athena called out to Lucas and Kong, the only ones still remaining. "Oh no!!! Quick! We need to get out of here!" Lucas merely gave a complying nod. He swiftly picked up the Christmas ball and rushed through the snow after Athena who lead them down the path. Kong followed suit, ploughing his arms into the earth with swaying motions to easily overtake his trainer. "Oh no..." Athena gasped, and Lucas gasped with her as they took in the sight of the battle against the Mega Abomasnow. It was pure chaos as Pokémon after Pokémon launched volleys off attacks only to be shrugged off by the monstrosity. This was no normal Abomasnow, even for Mega standards. “Kong?” Lucas turned to his Pokémon to ask. “Slaaa!” he protested. His new Justified ability wasn’t shrugged off entirely, and he wasn’t going to join a gang-up on a single Pokémon. (“Slaaaaaaaa?!” [“Did anyone even try talking to it?”) “I understand,” Lucas conceded, “you’ve done a lot anyway. Why don’t you rest?” He pulled out Kong’s Premier Ball and retrieved the brute back into his Pokéball. Taking one last glance at the ball in hand. “Take five, you’ve deserved this.” His focus turned to the Mega Abomsnow with determination. “Time to end this!” he said with grit as he pulled a Pokéball of his belt. It was just a regular Pokéball but it held a powerhouse of a Pokémon, as disadvantaged as it might have been in these conditions. “Go Sal!” A hefty roar stormed out of the Pokéball with a flashing light, materialising the Dragon-typed Salamence. His monstrous size might prove an equal to the Abomasnow, though there were no certainties Lucas knew. “Sal, take flight and use your fiery breath. Firestream, Dragon Breath and Flamethrower as you circle around it.”

"Masaru, you're up!" Alice took the risk, releasing her beloved Swinub, his pink fur standing out in the sleet. He at least cared little for the elements ailing everyone else here. Time was of the essence now, but at least if things got bad, her Pokemon was likely to be able to survive and navigate the snow, rocks and ground that could literally befall them here. "Endure whatever this thing throws at you, take it down and use double edge! If we don't finish this thing off, we're all gonna die, and it has no reason to give mercy to the rest of the Cloud Garden now, either!" Her starter snorted his affirmative, a faint glow of strength wavering about its body. It would hopefully help it get through any super effective or otherwise powerful retaliation that the opponent set up for it. All around them, trainers called their attacks. People and crystals and stones lit up as Pokemon gave everything they had, motivated by odd dances and poses and sheer determination. Alice was caught off guard, though, when Maasa began to glow, too. She had traded away her Icium-Z to someone who wanted it more, and it wasn't like he could go mega, so--- "Maasa. You're evolving...!" Her jaw dropped, a gloved hand coming up to her freezing glossy lips. Maasa was growing, his body elongating and fattening up; small tusks extending around his round snout. The speed at which the bulkier Pokemon moved was surprisingly impressive, too, and it was fast. Alice had tears in her eyes, and they rolled down her frosted cheeks. After all of this time, her powerhouse baby had finally evolved, growing from a little pink Swinub to an obnoxiously bright Pilowswine. The battle grunts he made sounded deeper and scarier now. "You've got this, Pilowswine! My Maasa! I love you!"

Regardless, both sides were clearly being worn down, and Jess knew they needed to finish this fast. Now was not the time to pull punches, and hit it with everything they had. Thus she called out to Kim: "Let’s keep up the offensive! Try to ASTONISH it, then go for another SIGNAL BEAM and FLASH CANNON combo!"

That was all Drew could do to describe those wild few minutes as trainers thought up strategies and tried to make themselves heard over their neighbor. As Pokémon dashed about, working new ideas on the fly when one happened to fail. As everyone involved worked together to fight the villain for the alternative was something no one desired. As everything began to converge through the confusion into that one beautiful moment where it was win or lose, succeed or fail, live or die. Oh, had he missed this. Adrenaline fully set in, amber-eyes wide with a manic grin on his face, disposition alone would have left one hard-pressed to find the Drew of minutes past here now. The immediate stiffness of fear had left, replaced by tenseness of a different sort, one that belied just how ready Drew was to spring into action himself. Still, for the moment he stood, well, still, scrolling past info on his Pokédex - cast in the role of trainer for this battle for as long as the Mysterious Seviper refused to move without an accompanying order. Rotom, floating ignored and away from any of the conflict, could only watch with veiled disapproval. This was almost exactly the kind of backslide he’d been worried about. He could only pray this didn’t completely ruin the last however many months of effort he'd put forward. Drew, head in the battle, saw none of the worry. “Okay, got an idea. Hey Snake-From-The-Sky!” he called out, grabbing said serpent’s attention. “While they focus up top you go in down low, use that razor sharp poison tail of yours to slice out the back of that thing’s knees! See if you can bring it down before it brings us all down, and the mountain with it! Then with whatever you have left bring some more Flamethrowers, point blank range! As many as it takes!” The serpent’s head dipped low in a bow before turning back to the fight, leaving Drew with the thought that he really needed to learn the snake’s name if this lasted much longer. |

The Abominable Snowdown A Cloud Garden Winter Campaign Abomasnow was not letting up, it was completely ignoring the trainers and their Pokemon in order to take out the mountain in hopes of everyone being taken out along with it. Megas the Golett wasn't about to let that happen and even risked putting themselves in harm's way in order to stop it. They charged around to Abomasnow's front, doing their best to dodge the pieces of mountain that were crashing down and kicked at the ground in order to hurl Mud at the Abomasnow in hopes of Slapping it in the face with it to blind it a bit. It was no use though, through all of the debris, all of the mud was not able to reach the enraged Pokemon's face and only small splatters managed to land. The Avalanche was getting worse, Megas was having a hard time dodging it and knew they needed to do what they could and get out of there fast. They decided to charge in and use their Power-Up Punch on its foot since its arms were impossible to reach with how much they were moving and slamming into the mountain. This attack almost seemed like no use, it must be hurting the Abomasnow but it was hard to tell. Megas wasn't going to give up and kept on hitting but suddenly Abomasnow lifted its large foot and kicked Megas across the snow. They bounced through the snow and crashed into the side of the mountain, the debris began to pile up on top of them and for a moment they thought they were done for. But, they couldn't let it end this way. While under the debris, their trainer Bill activated the power of their z-crystal and this gave Megas the boost they needed. Megas felt a new kind of energy flowing through them and wasted no time releasing it, causing Abomasnow to have to endure a barrage of a Never-Ending Nightmares. A strange and haunting energy began to surround the beast and flowed into it. The Abomasnow let out an awful sounding scream as it was being mentally tormented by whatever demons were just unleashed on it. Megas was still under the debris but was proud that they finally managed to be noticed. Abomasnow was no longer hitting the mountain because they were too busy clutching thier head in agony. Sigurd the Gallade knew that this was the ideal time to attack with his own z-move. He kicks off the ground and soars up into the air at an astonishing rate, creating a very large amount of distance between him and the ground. Once he lines himself up, he plummets down right toward Abomasnow. Before his attack makes contact, another airborne opponent begins to put up a fight of their own. Cirrus the Swablu swoops in and smashes into Abomasnow's head with Aerial Ace and instantly follows that up with an Air Cutter. They were still clutching their head at the time, but that attack snapped them out of it. Once Abomasnow opened its eyes they immediately looked around for the one who dared attack it, figuring it came from above it looked directly overhead and Swaggered at the first thing it saw, which was Sigurd. Sigurd's attack was now boosted even further and in the next instant, his Supersonic Airstrike made contact with Abomasnow. The attack was powerful, so powerful that the ground beneath Abomasnow's body shattered and Abomasnow was forced to be half underground. The alteration of the earth also created an earthquake that ripped across the ground and damaged Choux, Vander, Khione, Pouli, as well as Megas who was still covered in debris and the quake shook some more to fall on them, completely knocking them out. The extremely powered up move definitely hurt Abomasnow but at the cost of hurting many of the Pokemon who were grounded as well. Sigurd knew he needed to get out of there but his mind wasn't thinking clearly, the confusion that Abomasnow had caused him was clouding his thoughts. In an attempt to flee, he used his Teleport but in his confused state, teleported to the last place he wanted to be, right in front of Abomasnow. "SNOOOOOOOOW!!!" Abomasnow roared with pure anger and dug its hands into the earth, lifting itself out of the crater at a great speed and slamming right into Sigurd with a Wood Hammer that contained all of the rage it had built inside while also blasting him with a Blizzard. Sigurd was quickly overwhelmed, it was all too much, causing the Gallade to drop into the snow knocked out, but his efforts certainly left an impression on all of those around. Cirrus was somewhat nervous, he had a similar strategy and after seeing how things went over with Sigurd, going through with it was a bit intimidating. However, Abomasnow began to slam into the side of the mountain once again, it was so enraged that unless everyone wanted to die, everyone would have no choice but to go through with such tactics despite the potential consequences. Cirrus took a deep breath and then began to soar high into the sky. While Cirrus was preparing for his final attack, Choux the Snubbull was ready to show Abomasnow what he was made of. Despite being so small, he had a lot of confidence in this moment. Using his Feint Attack he gets in there nice and close and hits Abomasnow. Abomasnow is extra sensitive to everything going on around it at this point so immediately its attention is brought toward the little feisty Pokemon as he sinks his Flaming Fangs into Abomasnow's side. Abomasnow huffs at such a small Pokemon trying to get the better of it and blows an Icy Wind at Choux, the wind is too much for Choux and he's forced to let go and fly through the air, landing inside of the crater that Abomasnow's body had created earlier. Abomasnow then uses its Blizzard to rapidly fill the hole in an attempt to quickly bury Choux inside of the crater. Choux was completely submerged in snow but before it got unbearably deep, Cirrus was ready to give Abomasnow another beat down. Cirrus had been diving through the air and finally made contact with his own Supersonic Skystrike. Just like before, the incredibly powerful move hit Abomasnow and it was forced into the earth, only this time it didn't go as deep or cause an earthquake since Cirrus' attack hadn't been raised as high as Sigurd's but it still packed quite a punch. Abomasnow almost immediately went to retaliate with the intent of hurling Ice Shards in the air at Cirrus but this was prevented by a very upset Snubbull. A sudden burst of powerful energy surged through the snow that was once burying Choux, opening up a hole so that he was no longer buried and headed right for Abomasnow. The energy was powerful and upon contact gave Abomasnow an All-Out Pummeling. The Mega Pokemon's entire body was forced against the mountain. The crash caused part of the mountain to break off and an Avalanche proceeded to fall. The trainers as well as their Pokemon began to run to get out of the way but Khione and Vander were slightly behind the rest and got hit with some of the debris. Abomasnow burst out of the debris that had fallen on top of it from the Avalanche. Its eyes almost appeared to be blood red from the rage it felt which caused its appearance to look even more gruesome. Vander the Zangoose was tired of all the damage he was forced to endure, between the earthquake and the Avalanche he was definitely sore in a few places. He went ahead and put all of that anger into his fist, causing it to burn with flames of rage as he charged right up to Abomasnow and Punched it with all of that raging Fire. Abomasnow was not impressed and it was getting ready to whack the Zangoose away but suddenly it was whacked from another side by a Pursuit. Khione the Sneasel was also not very happy since she had to deal with the exact same treatment as Vander. The two Pokemon glance at each other briefly and then turn their attention back toward Abomasnow. Then almost simultaneously, they attack. Khione hit's Abomasnow hard with a Power-Up Punch and Vander who was on the other side leaps toward Abomasnow and smashes into it with a Low Kick. The sudden impact of the move causes the giant Abomasnow to lose its balance and suddenly it is falling over right toward Khione! Khione can see this and knows she doesn't have enough time to get out of the way so she readies her Iron Tail and whacks it as hard as she can, hoping that her move would have enough impact to stabilize the beast. Unfortunately, it does not and next thing she knows she is completely crushed by a several hundred pound Pokemon and due to her tiny frame she is knocked out instantly. Vander runs in while Abomasnow is down and quickly slashes at it with a Fury Cutter for good measure before booking it out of there. After seeing everything that Abomasnow had done, no way was he going to stick around long enough for him to get back up. Sal the Salamence began circling around Abomasnow while in the air and began to blow a Firestream at it while it's still down. Despite the flames pelting it, Abomasnow still manages to get back on its feet and now has its eyes set on the annoying fire breathing dragon that is circling around its head. Kimball the Vanillite attempts to Astonish the giant but it doesn't flinch in the slightest. Its eyes are locked on that Salamence. Kimball can see that this is probably for the best, there isn't a single Pokemon out here that wants Abomasnow focusing on them directly. Abomasnow lets out another scream and then makes the Blizzard rage around Sal, the super effective and extremely powerful move was definitely taking its toll rather quickly. Sal doesn't waver, it may hurt but there are lives that depend on this. She moves onto her next attack and begins to blow her Dragon Breath at Abomasnow. Just before Abomasnow pelts Sal with another one of its super effective moves, suddenly it is being overwhelmed by even more flames and these flames aren't coming from Sal. It was hit by a Blast that was Burning it terribly. Some of the small patches of fur that it had left were quickly melting off and the snow surrounding it melted instantly. Its attention on Sal was finally broken and now it was eyeing up Pouli the Mega Houndoom. Malcolm the Seviper tried to get in close while its attention was elsewhere and stabbed the back of Abomasnow's leg with a Poison Sting. Abomasnow seemed unfazed as it aimed itself perfectly and then lowered its head and began to charge so fast that many were shocked, it was hard to believe that something so huge would move at such a speed, especially after its leg was just stabbed with venom. Before she could even react, suddenly Pouli was being Bashed extremely hard by Abomasnow's Skull. Pouli flew through the air and upon landing in the snow it was clear that by some miracle she had managed to Endure the hit. Abomasnow wasn't about to let that stand though and prepared to inflict more pain but Kimball could see the urgency of the situation and used that moment to release her Signal Beam/Flash Cannon combo. This combination was powerful and even managed to make Abomasnow slide across the snow a few feet. Before the light from the attack disappeared, Pouli smacked Abomasnow with a very hard hit before quickly Returning safely to her trainer. Kimball also knew that she was going to be in big trouble if Abomasnow figured out that the powerful beam of light came from her so she used her type as an advantage and quickly dropped down and buried herself in the snow. When Abomasnow turned around, the first thing it saw was Sal who was still flying overhead. As soon as they locked eyes, Sal blew a Flamethrower right at Abomasnow. At the same time, Malcolm blew his own Flamethrower at Abomasnow as well. The combination of the two fire attacks somehow enraged Abomasnow even further and it began to Stomp about randomly, crushing Kimball who was hidden in the snow, knocking her out. Malcolm knew he was dangerously close to getting stomped himself and decided to quickly retreat, but before he got away the Abomasnow's foot came down on his tail, holding him in place. Abomasnow was tired of all the heat being forced on it from multiple directions. Having observed how effective its last attack on the flying dragon was, it figured that sticking with that couldn't go wrong. Sal was blasted by another additional Blizzard on top of the blizzard that was already constantly blowing, Abomasnow also made sure that this boosted Blizzard hit the snake it had trapped beneath its foot, and between the crushing weight of Abomasnow's foot and the powerful storm, Malcolm passed out. Being pelted by ice was also quickly overwhelming Sal but she was fighting to hang on and then suddenly the blizzard returned to its normal strength and Sal breathed a sigh of relief. Unfortunately, that relief was felt too soon because an Ice Shard flew through the air and smashed directly into her, knocking her out of the sky and into the snow on the ground unconscious. |

Gary called out his trusty partner Typhu. The Typhlosion steadied himself on the ice and snow and gladly received the X Special from his trainer. The flames around his neck burned bright despite the strong winds. Gary started giving orders to Typhu who listened intently. Rorik and Guntz noticed the Fire-type newcomer to the field. Taking note of Typhu’s ability, Rorik directed Guntz to aim a Flamethrower in the Typhlosion’s direction. Typhu’s Flash Fire activated, and Guntz flames joined in with Typhu’s own. Typhu bounded toward Abomasnow. He reached the base of the Pokemon’s towering body and ducked his head to the ground. A huge, pillar of flame Erupted from Typhu’s back and scorched the length of Abomasnow. After the smoke cleared, Vi the Blaziken had joined Typhu’s side. The two Fire-starters turned to look at their trainers, an immense amount of trust in their eyes. The Firium Z on Gary and Hyrem’s Z-bracelet shimmered and glowed. The trainers brought their arms together in front of them, and an aura surrounded Typhu and Vi. As Gary and Hyrem brought down their arms for the final portion of the Z-move, the Typhlosion and Blaziken let out a triumphant battle cry. Typhu charged up a huge fireball, the flames surrounding him entirely. Vi called forth a similar amount of fire. The two locked eyes with each other, and their two fireballs meshed together to create one huge burning, star-like mass. Abomasnow brought an arm down to bat the fireball away in anger. The Z-move surged toward it, smashing into its huge body. For a moment, Abomasnow was obscured by a dome of flames and explosions. The fire cleared, sections of Abomasnow’s fur still smoldering. It took a deep breath in, wiped soot from its face, and blew a Blizzard at Typhu and Vi in disgust. The Fire-types braced themselves, trying their hardest to keep up their flames so they would not be frozen. Inspired by the spectacle of Fire-moves he had just witnessed, Calem the Caterpie tried out some moves of his own. He sprayed a Flamethrower at the base of one of Abomasnow’s legs. After already being burned, Abomasnow barely registered the pain. Adorned in an adorably fluffy bunny suit, Calem launched himself into the air. Abomasnow saw the tiniest speck fly above its head. Calem blew another Flamethrower, the steady stream reaching the tip of Abomasnow that was still partly covered in fur. The attack was just enough to burn up another patch of Abomasnow’s fur and grassy covering. It grumbled as it tried to surround itself with ice again, but almost nothing was sticking to its skin. The Bug-type Calem landed on the snow again, his mouth hurting from the Fire-type moves he had somehow conjured up. As he tried to recover, Abomasnow brought down a foot to Stomp the pest, and Liawe watched in horror as her Pokemon disappeared under the beast’s limb. Abomasnow moved its foot away, pleased that it had gotten rid of the Caterpie. A small pile of snow suddenly began to wiggle, and Calem popped his head out, still covered in a String Shot that he had used to propel himself off of Abomasnow and bury himself in the snow. Though he wasn’t smashed, it would be difficult for little Calem to dig himself out completely.
Geddy twitched his little tail back in forth to his own Metronome. A sparkling, Magic Coat suddenly surrounded the Tynamo, providing a barrier from any special effects that Abomasnow might try to throw at him. He continued moving his tail back and forth to his own rhythm, and soon found himself Chanting wishes of good Luck to the rest of his allies. Much like Athena’s Clefable at the Waterfall, Geddy was bringing the promise of protection against critical hits to everyone on the battlefield. He still had time for one last chance to see what his Metronome would bring. The Tynamo suddenly struck the ground, and several pillars of fire burst up from the ground. Though the Electric-type had little experience with fire moves, it was able to direct the Fire Pledge at Abomasnow. The pillars of fire surrounded one of Abomasnow’s legs, trapping it momentarily so it could not move to attack the mountain again. Newly evolved Maasa took advantage of his increased size and prepared itself to Endure any hits he might face. The Piloswine barreled toward Abomasnow to Take it Down. His new pair of tusks smashed into Abomasnow, followed crashing into it with his head. He took a moment to collect himself after the recoil, taking a few steps back. Abomasnow batted at the flames Geddy had created. Maasa threw himself into the Mega evolved Pokemon once more, recoiling this time from the impact of Double-Edge. Abomasnow swiped its huge across the ground, Punching Maasa and Geddy with an Icy fist. Maasa was able to barely hang on, struggling to lift himself up and return to his trainer. Geddy wasn’t so lucky, and the little Tynamo collapsed. Mélina called out her Minior Catalina. The meteor Pokemon floated above its trainer and enjoyed a quick snack that made it feel much better. It was able to form a sturdy shield around itself once more, protecting its delicate core. It picked up more rocks, surrounding them with an Ancient Power before tossing them at Abomasnow. Abomasnow seemed to have thought that it was part of the mountain it was tearing apart rather than an attack from its annoying, tiny opponents. It reached for another section of the mountain but the rocks were drawn away from its claws. It looked up in confusion and noticed Catalina soaring high above, a large boulder forming above it. On the ground, Mélina had finished performing her Z-move, ending with a perfect twist of the hips and a strong pose that reflected the power of the earth. The boulder Catalina had created was now the size of Abomasnow, and it brought the Continent-like rock down to Crush its opponent. Abomasnow had no time to move out of the way. There was a huge explosion of dust and snow and Abomasnow found one of its arms trapped under the remainder of Catalina and Mélina’s Z-move. The Mega-evolved monster roared and tried to free itself, struggling under the weight of the huge rock. Guntz approached Abomasnow, but instead of Smashing the Rock Abomasnow was trapped under, he brought a powerful fist to Abomasnow’s weakened body. Abomasnow was unable to move the Snorlax away before he smashed into Abomasnow once more. Helga saw an opening for her own moves, acknowledging Guntz before she took over and struck Abomasnow in the same place with Mega Punch. The Hariyama found a particularly weak spot, an open cut that had been cauterized with fire moves, and Jabbed into the wound with Poison. She then used the Force of striking Abomasnow with her Palm to move a safe distance away. A dark, purple streak Slashed through the air, bringing the power of darkness and Night with it. Abomasnow was shocked as Elenchos struck it across the face. Keeping his distance, Nothung Blasted Abomasnow with Fire. The Infernape Focused his Fighting-type energy and sent it in a spherical Blast. Abomasnow noticed the attack coming its way and blew an Icy Wind to redirect it. It smashed into the rock covering its arm, destroying it just enough so that Abomasnow could free itself. With a roar, it began to bring its arms down in succession, Wood Hammering everything in front of it. Guntz and Helga were struck multiple times. The attacks came so quickly, Guntz and Helga were unable to stay conscious and defend themselves. Realizing it was his attack that had caused this, Nothung jumped in and let himself Overheat, hoping to send away further attacks from Abomasnow. He ended up being hit by a Wood Hammer himself, and although it wasn’t very effective, it definitely hurt. Like a falling star, Catalina floated down between Abomasnow and the Pokemon being attacked. Right as Abomasnow brought a fist down to crush the Minior, Catalina Self-destructed, sacrificing itself for the sake of its teammates. The explosion gave Guntz, Helga, and Nothung enough time to move far away from Abomasnow and back to their trainers. Catalina, core exposed, fell to the ground as it was knocked out from the blast. Mega Abomasnow, recoiling from the blast, covered its face in its hands. The icicles on its back had chunks blown out of them. It suddenly removed its hands from its huge face and roared. Ice Shards rained over the entire battlefield, huge sections of ice spearing themselves into the ground. It turned back to the mountain, grabbing a huge chunk of it and hurling it in an Avalanche toward the Pokemon still standing. Rocks rained down on Elenchos, Vi, and Nothung, and their trainers found their Pokemon knocked out as the move finished. |

Abomasnow bellowed loudly as rocks and ice continued to tumble down from the cliffs above. The abomination was a horrifying sight as its body was charred black and its eyes glowed a fierce blue as it continued to summon an Avalanche to attempt to snuff out all life around it. “We have to end this now! Go Artemis, use Flash Cannon!” Athena yelled out to her Mawile, who stood in front in an attempt to protect the Pokemon nearby. Athena’s Mawile opened the jaw-like appendage on her head wide and a powerful silvery beam shot out at the Abomasnow, who countered with its own Ice Beam. The two beams pushed back on each other, neither side relenting in power as they struggled to push the other one over the top. After a few moments however, Mawile’s Flash Cannon began dwindling in power and the Ice Beam pushed it back closer and closer to Mawile’s body. Mawile yelled as her beam gave out, getting struck by Abomasnow’s unrelenting Ice Beam.
“Artemis!” Athena yelled, concerned for her Mawile. She took a big hit but still stood strong. “Metal Burst!” Artemis yelled in unison with her trainer as the Mawile began glowing red, pulsing with energy. A massive red beam shot out of the Mawile’s jaw-like horn, blasting through the Abomasnow’s Ice Beam and ramming into the Abomasnow at full power. The beastly Abomasnow let out a booming, pained roar as an explosion of light erupted from its body. As the smoke and snow slowly dissipated from the air, the trainers could see Abomasnow lying face down in the snow. All was quiet, save for the occasional rumbling of rocks tumbling down from the mountain above, and people were beginning to wonder if the fight was finally over. However, to everyone’s dismay, the Mega Abomasnow began to rustle as it slowly got up to its hands and feet. The creature looked completely exhausted, but still possessed a fierce determination to keep going. A commotion of noise suddenly erupted from all around the area as a number of ice type Pokemon began to appear on the scene. Vanillites, Vanillishes, and Vanilluxes floated in the air alongside Cryogonal. Sneasels, Vulpix, Swinub, and Cubchoo watched on as well as the Weavile from the Oran Orchard. Several Smoochum, Snorunt, and Snover showed up while some Delibird fluttered down from above. All of the Pokemon seemed to be in an uproar, and the trainers feared the worst; a much bigger and more drawn-out fight coming up as they were completely surrounded by the army of ice Pokemon. Abomasnow seemed a bit more confident now that its troops had returned to its side. “Snowww!” it bellowed, calling them forth to attack the trainers. However, the Pokemon remained where they stood. “Gla… lie…” The Glalie from the waterfall floated forward, back in its normal form as Froslass stuck by his side. Glalie looked up and around at the mountainside, as it looked like the aftermath of a warzone. Several rocks continued to fall from above. “Glalie!” it called out again, and the ice Pokemon began to converge on the Abomasnow. For the first time yet, there was a look of panic in the Abomasnow’s eyes as it began to blow a powerful Blizzard to try and defend itself. It was no match however, as the army of ice Pokemon breathed their own flurry of Powder Snows, Icy Winds, Frost Breaths, and Ice Beams at the behemoth. “I guess the ice Pokemon are upset at their leader for nearly destroying their home,” Athena commented as the Abomasnow’s body began to freeze solid. Pieces of rock seemed to chip off of its body, causing it to shrink in size to that of a normal Mega Abomasnow, although still slightly larger and still in its Mega form. Once the Abomasnow was completely encased in ice, the Pokemon began firing a path made out of Ice Beams into the cave from which Abomasnow came. They then worked together and pushed the frozen beast onto the ice and let gravity take over as the icy slide took it back into the mountain’s depths. With the Abomasnow now put on ice hopefully for a long time, the wild Pokemon began to slowly disperse into their natural environment. The avalanche coming from higher up the mountain seemed to have finally quieted and the Hail trickling down from above seemed to have finally ceased. All that remained was Glalie, Froslass, and a couple of Vanilluxe. Glalie looked at Athena and then to the rest of the trainers and gave an apologetic look, hoping to let bygones be bygones. They then conjured up a small pile of icy rocks and crystals and left them in front of the trainers before departing into the cave’s depths as well, presumable to lock away the Abomasnow and hibernate until next winter. “We did it!” Athena called out, falling back into the snow as she let out a sigh of relief and made a small snow angel. Sitting back up, she thanked her Mawile for her hard work and recalled her into her Pokeball. “I can’t thank all of you enough for everything you’ve done,” she said, addressing the trainers. “You all have helped save my home. You’ve saved everyone’s home. I can’t thank you all enough!” As she wiped a tear from her eyes, Athena looked out at the remains of the battlefield. Caught up in the action of the battle, a giant boulder caused from a Continental Crush remained front and center. The exterior of the stone had chipped away, revealing a crystalline mineral underneath that shone an icy blue. It was cold to the touch and seemed to emanate a powerful energy. It was too heavy to bring with them, but Athena loaded up all of the smaller crystals into a bag. “Let’s head back down the mountain where it’s safer. I’m sure the townsfolk would like to thank you too!” For all of their hard work, the following Pokemon have received levels (if a Pokemon is lv.100, you shall receive an equivalent number of rare candies to levels received): Alex: Mistilteinn the Abomasnow (5), Nothung the Infernape (3) ~~~~~~~ Battered and weary, the trainers made their way back to the waterfall, where Marina and Jet were waiting for them. They were relieved to see that everyone was in one piece and congratulated them as they listened to the story of the epic battle that had taken place. The sun was out in full force now, and much of the snow and ice had already begun to melt across the area. After everyone was loaded back onto the raft, Marina’s Gyarados and Jet’s Drifblim took them back down the falls, where they were greeted by Samuel and Madoka. Eventually everyone had been loaded up into the carriages where they were taken back towards town. Much of the snow across the plains had already turned to slush, the mysterious force of nature disappearing nearly as fast as it arrived. Once they arrived back in town, the trainers were met by a swarm of people, who roared with cheers upon their return. Arriving into the town square, the trainers were let out where doctors and nurses quickly tended to everyone’s injuries and healed everyone’s Pokemon. Hot cocoa was passed out to everyone, from a group of citizens led by none other than bundled-up Primrose, who had recovered enough to walk. She might have still been fairly weak, but she was going to express her gratitude no matter what. “Everyone gather ‘round,” Athena called out as she brought forth the loot she had collected up at the mountain. “On behalf of everyone who calls this mountain home, I would like to thank all of you for your valiant effort from the bottom of my heart.” The gathering of citizens erupted in applause once again. “As thanks, I would like to give all of you a piece of the parting gift that Glalie left us with,” Athena said, laying out an assortment of items for the trainers. “Hopefully we can see you return to the Cloud Garden again on better terms; when everything isn’t frozen and covered in snow!” As the trainers gazed across the shiny assortment of crystals and rocks, the sunlight from the sky above reflected off of them in a beautiful glimmer of lights. It was a bright new day for the Cloud Garden, a day that the citizens of Galea Town would never forget. All trainers have been awarded the following items: Never-Melt Ice x1Trainers may also select ONE of the following packages: Package 1: Abomasite x1~*~Package 2: Icium-Z x1~*~Package 3: TM Collection Consisting of: I want to take a minute and thank everyone for participating in this campaign over the last three months. It was quite the grind, but we made it through! I especially want to thank Patches and morningstar for all of their hard work in assisting me with this campaign. There is absolutely no way I would have been able to tell this story without their help and their contributions. I really had a lot of fun coming up with this story, as it helped me create quite a bit of world-building for this zone I am so proud of, and so I hope you all had just as much fun participating in it. If you aren’t already adventuring in the Cloud Garden, I hope to see you there in the future, and if not maybe we will get the chance to update you again in a future campaign! Thank you all! |

But even if Keith was unable to contribute much more in the way of Z-Power to this battle, he knew his contributions wouldn't be nothing- Helga had already landed a powerful critical hit with Poison Jab following a solid Mega Punch to the same place Rorik's Snorlax had struck. And then, using the Force Palm attack, Helga landed yet another blow and at the same time backed safely away to avoid any retaliation. Except... that didn't work out so well. Alex's Infernape's Focus Blast inadvertently freed Abomasnow's arm, and enabled it to start pummeling the nearest enemies with Wood Hammer. And Helga just so happened to be one of those nearest enemies. "Helga!" Keith exclaimed, but before he could issue any further commands, it was clear that the Hariyama was unable to battle any further. It was then that an odd Rock-type flew in and used Self-Destruct. It had some sort of rock shell, but its red core was exposed before long. Moved by curiosity, Keith took out his Pokédex. "Minior- Red Core- the Meteor Pokémon. A Rock and Flying-type," droned the device. "Minior starts out in the ozone layer, hurtling to the ground when its rocky shell grows too heavy. Minior's core can be one of several different colors, the color determined by what it ate in the ozone layer." The blast, fortunately, gave the barely conscious Helga, as well as Rorik's Snorlax and Alex's Infernape, time to retreat to their Trainers. Keith smiled proudly at his Hariyama. "I'm proud of you, Helga, you were awesome," he grinned. "Now, how about you take a good rest?" he added, holding out the Poké Ball and withdrawing the Hariyama to the spherical confines within. Not long after, there was a commotion. Keith's heart sank as Ice-types of all kinds started to gather, all around them. An army of Ice-types, and their leader was still conscious and pissed. However, it seemed as though the Ice-types were pissed as well- at Abomasnow! It had all but destroyed the mountainside they called home, and now it was Glalie giving the orders, and this time, against Abomasnow. Keith gave a relieved, shaky chuckle as the Ice-types converged around the Ice/Grass-type, who for the first time looked truly worried. It tried to attack with Blizzard, but the Ice-types had the advantage in sheer numbers, and they pressed that advantage like crazy, freezing Abomasnow solid with their various attacks, before shoving it right back into the depths of the mountain from where it had come. The Ice-types departed after this, with Glalie among them. The look it gave the gathered Trainers spoke volumes- an apologetic look, hoping for forgiveness. Keith gave a reassuring smile to Glalie- he never was one to hold grudges. Once they were back in town, once the Pokémon were all healed up, once injuries were treated, and once the Trainers were given most welcome mugs of hot cocoa, Athena gathered everyone around, and let them take from the parting gifts Glalie had left them. And Keith was rather impressed by the selection, as well. Everyone was given a Never-Melt Ice, an Icy Rock, a TM for Hail, as well as a curious stone that, while it wasn't actual ice, still looked and felt the part. "Dat's some kinda evolution stone, ain't it?" Meowth whispered. "I think so," Keith whispered back, eyeing the Ice Stone curiously. "This could come in handy someday- ooh," he added, noticing the piles of other items- one pile of identical Mega Stones of some sort, one pile of bundles of TMs for various Ice-type moves, and one pile... of Z-Crystals. The Mega Stones were Abomasite- there was once a time when Keith might have been tempted by this, but he only ever owned one Snover, and only for a couple of weeks. The TMs were a nice selection, as well... but the Z-Crystals were what caught Keith's attention. Keith picked up one of the Z-Crystals, admiring the little snowflake symbol it showed. He'd have to ask Irwin to teach him the poses to activate this one, and he didn't know what the Ice-type Z-Move was called... but he'd learn. Ice might not be his element of choice, but it was perfectly cool with him nonetheless. Bad pun fully intended. Naturally. *Campaign complete!* *Kyle grew to level 39!* *Kyle grew to level 40!* *Kyle grew to level 41!* *Kyle learned Slash!* *Kyle grew to level 42!* *Helga grew to level 37!* *Helga grew to level 38!* *Helga learned Wake-Up Slap!* *Helga grew to level 39!* *Obtained the Never-Melt Ice!* *Obtained the Icy Rock!* *Obtained the Ice Stone!* *Keith obtained a TM07 Hail!* *Keith obtained an Icium Z!* Using the TM Hail on my Cryogonal. *Winter learned Hail!* And as for the Ice Stone... I'll just hold onto it for the time being. It'll see some use. Right now, though, thanks to Sandaa, Patches, and morningstar for making this awesome adventure possible! I enjoyed this, and not just because I was finally able to catch a Cryogonal of my own after so many years of wanting one in FB, either. It was an awesome story, the battles were intense, and it was fun to be a part of. |

The Uncultured One

Liawe watched in fascination as her Caterpie defied all laws of physics and normality to wound the beast, before that fascination turned into abject horror as he was seemingly crushed by it. Her panic lasted but a few moments though, as Calem's bunny ears breached the snow, followed swiftly by his antennae and then the rest of his head, as he cheered at the downfall of the great Ice type. Hope floated over, clearly happy at the victory, and used her Telekinesis to pull Calem from the snowdrift and drop him on Liawe's shoulder, from which he promptly crawled into her arms and snuggled up to her to try and regain some body heat. Snowdrifts are surprisingly cold when you're a caterpillar. --- Refreshed and reinvigorated at the town once more, Liawe sat with the other trainers as many regaled others with various tales of heroism throughout the campaign. Liawe wasn't the sort to boast, and instead sat there with her free hot Tapu Cocoa, enjoying the warm drink as Calem, Hope and Caeda, all restored and ready to get back on the road, all sat around her, along with Winter, her lastest companion. One of the local leaders was offering up rewards to those who had taken part, and Hope had taken some time to saunter over and claim Liawe's in her stead, bringing her trainer a veritable trove of treasures and useful items to aid her on the road. And then, with the cocoa finished, Liawe returned the mug and set off once more, the neverending road familiar under her feet, with her friends by her side. She'd definitely have to consider a return trip here though. Maybe when it was warmer... Claiming: x1 Ice Stone x1 Icy Rock x1 Never-Melt Ice x1 TM Hail x1 TM Ice Punch x1 TM Blizzard x1 TM Icy Wind x1 TM Avalanche x1 TM Ice Beam Caeda grew to level 13! Caeda learnt Air Cutter! Caeda learnt Agility! Hope grew to level 10! Hope learnt Spite! Calem grew to level 12! Thanks for the event guys, it's been a pleasure.

Vander gave a confused cry, pointing with his long claws behind Isaac. There they were, the ice types from before. Lead by the tough as nails Glalie that he had seen at the waterfall. Isaac swallowed hard. This would be their undoing, this foray of ice types that was ready to gnaw down on their bones --- to crush them like never before. But... they didn't. They turned on their leader, upset at the hulking beast for destroying the mountains that encased their homes. The Abomasnow tried to fight back as the trainers all watched in awe. Dozens of ice types pilled their best attacks over the Abomasnow, one by one, encasing it in a thick coating of ice and shoving it backwards --- deep into the caves from which it had emerged. As the ice Pokemon began to leave, satisfied with their work, the Glalie gave the trainers gathered around a look. At first, Isaac assumed it was a look of pity, but he realized that it was actually a look of sincere apology. The Abomasnow had made a mess for everyone, even the other Pokemon. Isaac returned Vander to his Pokeball, following Athena back to the village. They were hailed as heroes, given hot chocolate and rewarded for their efforts with various goodie bags. Isaac, however, felt like he didn't deserve these. The villagers pushed them on him and he graciously accepted... but, he knew deep down that he wasn't as much of a help as he could have been. The other trainers with their far stronger Pokemon had excelled, if anything he had just weighed them down. He excused himself politely from the cabin that people were celebrating in, taking his gifts with him. As he walked outside, he felt a rustling in his bag. He pulled out the glimmering red Pokeball and let Vinny free, the Leafeon stretched, looking around to see the snow turned into piles of slush around them. She studied her trainer for a few moments, happy to see him okay but also curious as to what was bothering him. The Leafeon's eyes studied the shallow slash on his cheek closely, puffing out her fur upon realizing that those were most definitely caused by Vander. Isaac lit a cigarette and puffed the smoke into the air, looking down at the concerned Leafeon. "I'm alright," He said, turning away slightly so she couldn't see his cheek. The Leafeon shook her head, nuzzling her trainer's leg. Even if he would never admit it, she knew him better than he knew himself. She sat with him outside, watching as the brilliant sun shone high above --- filling both of them with warmth and comfort. [Echoing the above, this was an awesome campaign and you all did amazing work! <3] Claiming my Never-Melt Ice, Icy Rock, Ice Stone, and TM Hail Giving the Never-Melt Ice to William's Alolan Vulpix, Elvira. Teaching Hail to Django, my Alolan Sandshrew. Also giving him the Icy Rock to hold. I'm also taking this chance to use the Ice Stone on him, turning him into a Sandslash. I'll be claiming the TM package as well, adding a TM Ice Beam, TM Blizzard, TM Icy Wind, TM Ice Punch, TM Avalanche to my spoils.

He slogged himself to the bathroom, and saw his face was rose red. He felt his forehead and he was burning up. A fever? Did he get sick from playing in the snow for a few hours? That was most certainly something that shouldn't have happened. Then again, the sudden cold wasn't exactly a soft winter. It was harsh blizzards that threatened the very existence of the Cloud Garden. Due to the power of the Pokemon behind it, this was probably a rational result. Still, he never really realized how harsh winter could be. Winters back in Virbank were cold and breezy, and as a kid he enjoyed playing in the snow when he could. The snow reminded him of a lot of things... And he instinctively touched his lips. Most of his memories he was able to recover now involved the winter. Childhood's End. There was only one clear memory after that winter, the one of him coloring with Marie in the summer. After that he didn't know. All he knew was that the fire happened afterwards. Then his current set of memories. The hell that was constant medical attention and rehabilitation as he struggled to learn what happened. He still didn't know what happened. He managed to escape the constant examination, but at this point was it really for the best? He did well on his own, that much was for sure. Surviving the Phantom Isles, the Mad King's Castle, and even that fishing trip in Minnao. Yet he felt he wasn't close to the answers he sought. He started to rummage through the bathroom for something to help ease his head pain. He found a... questionable... bottle, to say the least. It did say cold medicine, but it looked a few years old. Did no one ever go through this thing and clean it out? He shook his head, and opened the crusted bottle. Not even flinching, he gulped down at least half of the bottle. It tasted disgusting, but at this point it wasn't the worst thing that he tasted in his mouth. That was a night he would never forget. Gingerly putting the top back onto the medicine bottle, Austin left it on the bathroom counter and headed out of the room. In the main room he saw empty boxes and ripped wrapping paper. Seems that there were presents. He just had to miss that too, oh joy. He saw a box with his name on it, and started to unwrap it. A Revive and an Aspear Berry. That wasn't the worst gift, and at least the card said Merry Christmas. It was Christmas? Man, where the hell was his mind then? At least the teen could go home after this. He Pokemon would be happy to see him on a day like this. Of course, he was still needed. Was he though? Someone would've woken him up at this point. Austin made his way out of the cabin, and started to see that the snow around him was melting. Guess the final battle was already over and won. Was a shame, he would've liked to help out. Though considering how shitty his body felt right now, perhaps it was for the best that he slept through it. Wandering through the Cloud Garden, the teen enjoyed the shifting from winter to the usual landscape of the gardens. He remembered the trails from the map he stole, and made his way back to the town. It seemed that everyone was gathered around at this point. Gross. He just went up and claimed a package. Everyone stared at him. Great, the one who slept through the final battle and was late to the first one was getting something. He didn't give a shit. He flipped the bird and hastily made his way out of the town. He did stop and threw up into a garbage can first. The cold medicine was more than a few years expired. His stomach had confirmed that, at least. Finally making it back to his base (with more than a few bathroom emergencies along the way), the teen set down the box. Opening it, he looked at what was inside. A piece of ice that gave off a cold vapor. A "Never Melt Ice", as it was dubbed by trainers. The next item was a rock with icy-blue crystals jutting out. It was cold to the touch, and sort of slick and icy. An Icy Rock. Then there was a chunk of ice covering stone, and feeling it the teen could feel powerful evolutionary energy. An Ice Stone. Guess he'll put that with his growing collection of future evolutionary items. Also a TM for Hail. The last was a Z-Crystal. Judging by the theme of the box, it was an Icium-Z. Seems Yuke would get a new toy. Cool. A bunch of ice-type stuff. He headed towards his bed, the lull of old memories beckoning him back to sleep. Sure it was Christmas, and yes his Pokemon were happy to see him, but he was sick and tired. His head was pounding still and the medicine he took seemed like it was doing more harm than good. He just needed to sleep again, maybe go find a doctor in the next few days. Surely the Ribs had health insurance. He wasn't going to willing go to New Fizz. Rich, stuck up assholes. Now though, he wrapped himself in his blankets and tried to get lost in that memory. The memory of that Christmas party, and the warmth and happiness he felt then. OOC: Claiming 1x Aspear Berry 1x Revive 1x Nevermelt Ice 1x Icy Rock 1x Ice Stone 1x TM Hail 1x Icium-Z Thank you three for a fun event! Sorry I couldn't participate in the final half, but I still had fun none the less

The army had returned. Basic bitches and their leaders like the Glalie and Frosslass - apparently back in top condition - were making their way back in. "Oh, god, we're gonna die. We're gonna die. Fuck..." She felt her resolve crumbling quickly, Maasa taking pause to look round and snort in disbelief. The Pokemon looked almost as furious as the big boss himself, but the anger wasn't directed at them. No, as Athena pointed out, it was at the Pokemon currently tearing their home apart. Well, then. "Maasa, come on. Quickly, quickly." Alice ushered, blue eyes flitting between the ambush behind him and the pink creature making his return. She struggled to crouch down, feeling the freeze, but wrapped her arms around the big bundle anyway. No longer could she lift him into her arms and spin him around, but Alice's gloves dusted off some of the dirt and shards anyway to pepper Maasa with kisses all the same. "Well done, my big handsome Pilowswine. I'm so, so proud of you. I love you." Her tone and expression brightened considerably as the ice Pokemon began to drift away, revealing that the Abomasnow was now gone. It had been frozen and shoved back into its cave. Good riddance. "Oh my god! Yes, thank fucking god, yes..." Alice sank properly to her knees, legs giving out as the leader's had, and she sank into her Pokemon with affection and relief. He left Alice to sit and console herself while he helped the other trainers chip at the big rock, but then it was time to return to his ball while everyone returned to town. - The euphoria she felt was indescribable, honestly. The whole experience had brought Alice a new appreciation of life, that was for sure, and an even deeper admiration of the trainers that surrounded her. She handed over three of her Love Balls when back in town to be healed, joining the injured while the staff helped check her sugars (the freezing temperatures had made it impossible), warm her up and do what they needed to do. Not a drinker of hot beverages, Atsumu the Whismur had appreciated his reward for his part in the whole thing, and Blaze and Maasa cuddled close to help warm their trainer back up while rewards and acknowledgements were handed out. Besides the whole saving their home thing, the materialistic gal appreciated some goodies, that was for sure. Alice lingered a while, partially to recover, but also to catch up and say her farewells and thanks and compliments to those who remained long enough to receive them. Once she was more steady, it was time to go and see what kind of state their own home was in-- and then to hibernate for a while. That was enough winter for one year, thank you. [Atsumu the Whismur hits lvl. 100. Alice obtains three candies from the rest. Teaching Lorin the Lotad Ice Beam and Blizzard. Teaching Hail to Nina the Alolan Vulpix. Teaching Axel the Abra Icy Wind and Avalanche. For now, pocketing TM Ice Punch. Thanks for everything, y'all. This was super fun!]

Typhu was exhausted from having used up such a large amount of energy, but the battle-tested Typhlosion signaled to his trainer that he was capable of going on. As he continued to watch the battle unfold, Gary saw that it wasn’t necessary. Athena’s Mawile had gone toe-to-toe with Abomasnow, and after an explosive attack, the Abomasnow lay face first in the snow. However, as it slowly got back to its feet, Gary saw that things were far from over. The battlefield had been completely surrounded by ice Pokemon, including Glalie and others they had fought at the waterfall the previous day. Gary bit his lip and began thinking up his next battle strategy. However, as Abomasnow beckoned its army to attack the trainers, the ice Pokemon turned on their leader. It would seem that they were fed up with the Abomasnow nearly destroying their natural environment and literally put the beast on ice. Abomasnow was then banished back into the cave from which it came and the Pokemon each went their separate ways. Glalie seemed apologetic as it left the group with a parting gift, a gesture Gary was willing to accept. The army of ice Pokemon had been clearly put up to the invasion by their ring leader, but from the look of things, its icy reign was now over. On the way back down the mountain, Gary thought about breaking off to check on his base once again. Everyone was completely worn out, however, and Gary didn’t want to slow the group down by creating unnecessary worry. It would be selfish to check on his own base without making sure the town below was safe anyway. Once they had arrived back in town, they were greeted by a raucous crowd, thanking them for saving their homes. Athena then gathered all of the trainers once their Pokemon had been healed and hot cocoa had been distributed, giving out rewards as thanks for saving the day. Gary didn’t do it for the rewards; this was his home too, so it was only natural that he would stick up for his neighbors. Some of those fellow citizens were the most insistent that Gary accept his share however, as they recognized him and practically shoved the gifts into his arms. Gary chuckled and humbly accepted them, taking a bundle of chilling stones and crystals. Most notable was an Icium-Z, now the fourth Z-Crystal in Gary’s growing collection. Typhu’s use of Firium-Z during the final battle was the first time Gary had used one of them, but he had a growing fascination with them and sought to increase his collection. After pocketing his loot, Gary joined in the festivities briefly before finding a moment to slip away from the revelry. It was good to take in their victory and count their blessings, but Gary knew that there was still much more work to be done. As the partying continued on throughout the rest of the day and into the evening, the figure of a trainer atop a golden Charizard disappeared up into the setting sun, back up the mountain once more. Claiming the following items: 4x Rare Candies [Rena and Typhu are both lv.100] 1x Never-Melt Ice 1x Icy Rock 1x Ice Stone 1x TM Hail 1x Icium-Z

Happy had barely heard what Kai said before two bundles of fluff nestled up right next to him, the Flareon taking the time to curl his tail around Ahi as he snuggled up to his belly while Kehili's face was nearest to his own, allowing him a moment to lick his daughter's face. Then it was Kai's turn, which came as a surprise to Happy as she curled up her own body around all three of them, the twins fully under both parents' bodies as Happy's body covered what the Vaporeon mother's couldn't, but it was Kai's act of laying her paws and head atop of Happy that made him blush the most. He didn't think Kai would be this intimate, but then again things had apparently gotten bad enough that she had to make sure he and the kids would be safe. With that in mind, he laid on his side, feeling the kids wriggle occasionally against his belly while he was able to look up at his mate and sigh happily, knowing that if she was willing to leave the situation up to everyone else he could too. Looking over towards Gary, Hyrem noticed that he had a Pokemon out that looked like a much bigger form of Melissa's Cyndaquil, with a collar it could apparently ignite at will. "Wow, that Pokemon of Gary's looks really strong!" he admired as he looked to his Pokedex for information: Typhlosion, the Volcano Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Cyndaquil. Typhlosion's most feared power is that of instant combustion, the ability to make anything around it suddenly ignite with fire or even explode, depending on its temper. This Pokemon mostly uses this power to ignite its own fur and wrap itself inside an aura of heat and flames. As Hyrem listened to the Pokedex entry, he looked up to see the Typhlosion in action, his collar Erupting with flames that shot up in the air before landing on the Mega Abomasnow with a searing splash that dealt maximum damage due to the Fire-type using the attack at full health. It was then that both he and Vi noticed what Gary sported on his own Z-Ring: a Firium Z, the same Z-Crystal that Hyrem was looking to use. And it seemed like Gary was preparing to use the same attack they were thinking of right at that moment. "Well, now's as good a time as any! Let's GO!" Hyrem ordered. "Blaziken!!" acknowledged Vi as she took her place alongside the badger. Both trainers would raise their arms twice to the sky then grab their respective arm that held their Z-Ring before thrusting it down until the palm was level with their respective Pokemon, the energy of their Firium Z Crystals channeling inside the Typhlosion and Blaziken, though Hyrem would add an incantation, just for flair, of course: Let the power of the sun erupt from your body and fill this space with fire and brimstone!! Vi looked toward Hyrem as she suddenly felt Fire energy rush in from an outside source, then glanced toward the Typhlosion as Gary filled him with the same amount of energy as well, then to her foe who continued to pound the cliff. Her mouth suddenly opened, Fire energy condensing itself into a sphere that grew larger and larger. "Infernoooooooooooooo..." "Blaaaaaaazzzzzziiiiiiiiiii..." Hyrem's eyes suddenly flashed red just as the ball of fire reached what both he and Vi thought was maximum capacity, then they yelled. "OOOOOOOVERDRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE! !!" "KEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!" And with that, the gigantic fireball was let loose, after Gary's Typhlosion loosed his Z-Move first, both fireballs exploding upon making contact with Mega Abomasnow and putting it inside a fiery prison. It took a while for the flames to clear, but eventually they were able to see what had happened, and as the red glow left Hyrem's eyes, he was expecting the double Fire-type Z-Move to be what fells the monster. Instead, a blast of cold air blew into them, both Fire-types struggling to keep their flames alight, and once the Blizzard cleared, Hyrem looked on, stunned at the sight. "No..." he uttered, falling to his knees. "Even after...all those Z-Moves...it's still standing..." Too flustered to order anything further out of his Blaziken, despite her urging him to do so, all he could do was watch as the Mega Abomasnow took attack after attack and just shrugged it off, including attacks from Alice's Swinub who had just barely evolved into a bigger, shaggier boar that also looked like it could evolve into a Mamoswine like Lucas had, continuing to wipe out whatever Pokemon annoyed it the most. Even a Self Destructing Minior who had also used a Z-Move before doing so didn't faze the beast, and just as Hyrem was about to give Vi some more moves to use a large, frozen boulder was flung towards the two with little to no time to react before a familiar form tackled him aside. Hyrem found himself on the ground, the sight of Blaziken talons struggling to support Vi's body weight waking him up, but it was the pile of rubble over her legs that fully snapped him out of it, as well as the fact that the rubble had barely missed his own body. "Vi!!" he gasped, but before he could move or even ask if she was okay her hands slipped, her body yet to fall due to her elbows holding her up. "Blazi...ken..." she sighed with relief before her body finally collapsed atop her trainer. "No, Vi, please be alright!" he cried out as he scrambled to check her vital signs; fortunately, he could give his own sigh of relief as she was merely unconscious, and the rubble was loose enough that she could be pulled away from it without much effort. Holding Vi in his lap so that her head was leaning against his shoulder, he was finally able to continue watching the battle just as the last attack from Athena's Mawile connected against the Mega Abomasnow causing it to collapse in the snow. That had to have been it...right? Wrong. Just as the other trainers were hoping that was the end of the battle, the Mega Abomasnow slowly but surely picked itself back up and was about to keep going when sounds from all over the battlefield gathered everyone's attention. Hyrem looked behind to see the Glalie and Froslass approach from the waterfall, along with all the Ice Pokemon with them as well as a clan of Sneasel with a Weavile leading them and some Swinub, more Snover, a few Cubchoo, the Delibird from earlier, and a group of small, pink Pokemon that looked like little girls with lips being their most prominent feature. "Nngh, this is so bad!" Hyrem muttered to himself while hugging his Blaziken's face close to his. Even if the trainers had plenty of Pokemon to spare, all their Z-Moves were surely used up by now; this would turn into another large scale fight like yesterday, only worse as the trainers and their Pokemon would always be fighting outnumbered and surrounded, along with having to deal with the Mega Abomasnow. Maybe it was better to surrender to their fate, the enemy had too much of an upper hand now... "Hmmm~ looks like this is your lucky day~" The moment he felt Tsurara's hands on his shoulders, he shrugged them away as best he could. "This is really not a good time-" "How about you look up and tell me that to my face," she demanded, floating up in front of him now so he could get a clear view of things. "Okay fine, I...will..." Once again, Hyrem found himself dumbfounded as he saw the Ice Pokemon attacking the Mega Abomasnow, and despite the Blizzard it put up to defend itself it succumbed to the Ice attacks and began to freeze up from the block of ice it was being encased under. In addition, it actually shrank in size until it was only a little bit bigger than a regular Mega Abomasnow. "So...what's going on?" he asked the Froslass beside him. "While I've never truly understood the motives of a mere wild Pokemon," she explained, "it seems they were willing to fight under the giant brute you were fighting against, but as soon as it threatened to bury the whole place under snow they didn't take too kindly to their own homes being threatened and are in the process of sealing the monster away inside a cave. They could have simply killed it, if you ask me, locking it away is only going to invite more trouble in the future!" There was a small pause before Hyrem replied, "Well, maybe you're right, Tsurara. But that's not your call to make. And who knows, maybe it can't be killed, and hiding it somewhere is the only thing that can be done about it." "Judging by how long it took all of you to stop him, that may be true...but I have seen this story before, some lunatic or syndicate finds out about this..creature, and they'll do everything in their power get their hands on it. I simply refuse to think this is the last we will be seeing of that..thing." "Maybe it isn't the end yet," said Hyrem as he returned Vi back to her Red Cyber Ball to let her rest, "but it is for now." Looking up, he could see the weather finally clear up and the Ice Pokemon sealing themselves away along with the Mega Abomasnow. "That works for me." ********** The weary trainers met up with the rest of the Trial Captains before they all made their way back to town, Hyrem atop Kenna once again and holding Happy in his lap as the Flareon kept a firm foothold atop the Rapidash's back. Many conversations were had on the return trip, much of them a lighter mood than the ones made yesterday. As soon as everyone made it back, medical personnel were there to tend to the injured people and Pokemon, and Vi was let out soon enough, having fully recovered from her injuries. “Everyone gather ‘round,” Athena called out as the trainers made their way towards a rather large pile of various shaped ice crystals. “On behalf of everyone who calls this mountain home, I would like to thank all of you for your valiant effort from the bottom of my heart. As thanks, I would like to give all of you a piece of the parting gift that Glalie left us with. Hopefully we can see you return to the Cloud Garden again on better terms; when everything isn’t frozen and covered in snow!” Hyrem looked towards the pile of items and saw items he had in his possession already, but one of the more notable items was an Ice Stone, something that would be of a particular interest to Keori whenever the Alolan Vulpix was ready. One item that interested Tsurara even more was a Z Crystal that looked very familiar to Hyrem: a second Icium Z to go along with the one found with Keori. She looked at Hyrem with a longing and asked, "Pleeeease~? You know how much I love valuable jewelry, and these Z Crystals are about as valuable as they come~" "Oh, all right," Hyrem consented. "Just hand me your Icicle Plate first, okay?" "Pfff, darling," she scoffed, tossing the artifact over to him before tightly grasping the stone. "Why hold onto something that is only good for a mirror when I could have the power to smash something into submission with an icy fist?" Hyrem worried about the look she had when holding the Z Crystal, but decided it was better to let her have what she wanted than to risk a winter apocalypse hitting Cloud Garden twice in a week. As Hyrem and his Pokemon soon exchanged moments of friendship--or family, in Happy's case--they all knew these other trainers and Pokemon would be people to keep an eye out for as they all continued their respective journeys. ********** Level Up! Another Pokémon drove the Abomasnow into the ground with the same move, just not as powerful, and it didn't get a chance to retaliate as a different Pokémon hit it until it backed up into the mountain. Of course, that caused an Avalanche and Melissa decided she was getting way out of the way, since it wasn't like she could really see how things were going anyway. The sounds of battle still occasionally reached her when the wind blew right and it sounded like people were bringing the Fire moves back. She glanced back just as some huge fireballs molded together and were thrown at the Abomasnow, lighting it up in fire and explosions for a moment. What was that? The blizzard quickly obscured the battlefield once more, but Melissa tried peering through the wind to spot the Pokémon who'd used that move. A Fire move like that, if it was possible to learn, was one she was definitely going to see if she could get her hands on for Wildfire. Of course, she ended up getting briefly blinded by some kind of Electric or light-based attack as someone fought the Abomasnow one on one. Soon after, things stilled and she could actually see how things stood. The Abomasnow was face down in the snow, hopefully knocked out, while their guide's Mawile stood against it. Melissa grimaced as it got back up, glancing up for Cirrus as a ton of Ice-types showed up as well. Probably its reinforcements, she figured as she spotted the Glalie and Froslass from yesterday. The Abomasnow yelled, likely for the Ice-types to attack, but they didn't move until the Glalie said something. And when they did, Melissa could only blink as the Ice-types turned on the Abomasnow, chipping away at it until it shrunk down to a less gigantic size and froze solid. She...supposed what the guide said must be true or, at least, the most likely explanation, but she was just thankful they didn't have to fight anymore. Wildfire goes from 58 to 59 Ore goes from 35 to 38 Cirrus goes from 32 to 34 --- They made their way back to the town the same way they went up the mountain, by raft and then by carriage instead of by foot, thank god. Not that the trip didn't give Melissa plenty of time to notice that the snow was melting quickly. At town, everyone was looked over by doctors and nurses and given hot cocoa, so they presumably wouldn't pass out during the thank-you speech. Melissa sipped her hot cocoa as she listened to Athena talk. "On behalf of everyone who calls this mountain home, I would like to thank all of you for your valiant effort from the bottom of my heart." She had to pause as the townspeople cheered and applauded. "As thanks, I would like to give all of you a piece of the parting gift that Glalie left us with." She laid out the items in assorted piles. "Hopefully, we can see you return to the Cloud Garden again on better terms; when everything isn't frozen and covered in snow!" Melissa grinned and headed over to the piles to gather her share, before glancing around at her fellow trainers. Maybe she would hang out for a while, warm up a bit and chat, before heading home. Definitely get a refill on the hot cocoa, though. Collecting: 1 Never-Melt Ice Thanks for all your hard work, guys! This was fun!

Alas, such a strategy would ultimately be futile, as the titan screamed in anger, ripped a chunk of mountain off and hurled it in the direction of the Infernape, the Inkay and a weary Blaziken. "No! Nothung, stop that boulder!" Winded, the ape turned and drove a blazing foot into the incoming avalanche, causing snow and ice to burst and shower the three of them, sparing them from a potentially fatal strike, but as the Infernape landed, he collapsed to his knees, exhausted by the cold and recoil from the impromptu assault. And worse, the Abomasnow was relentless. Even as Athena's Mawile returned fire and knocked it down, the beast simply rose to its feet once more, and as hordes of ice pokemon gathered, Alex was readying Isaac's ball once more, determined not to give in. Not after what he had been through. The ice types, to his relief, weren't on the side of the monster. As a wave of frigid energy washed over the scorched demon, it shrank and ended up encased in ice before being sent packing back into the depths from whence it came. Alex was relieved, as a Glalie seemed to apologise, while there was no sign of the massive Beartic from before, and a good thing too. With all said and done, the return trip to town was relatively uneventful, as Alex supported his wounded starter onto the raft, and as the crew entered town, they were greeted by the townsfolk, who handed cocoa to help stave off the chill. At this point, Alex was glad he only had one flesh and blood hand, for he was sure that the cold would have given him frostbite. Speaking of which, the girl from before, Athena, was pleased with the work, and offered rewards for the trainers who helped in the fight for the mountain. Looking over the spoils, Alex found a couple of rocks, as well as a disc for hail, which he swore wouldn't be of use to him. And then there was the crystal. Much like the one he received only a couple months prior, this was one of those objects he heard of. Zenith crystals, or Z-crystals as most called them, bringing out the full force of pokemon techniques. As he held it in his hand, recollection flashed in his mind. Yes, that boulder. Isaac had called upon it, and brought out the absolute maximum strength in him to bring the Beartic down once and for all. If he ever ran into the ursine again, he'd have to have a rematch with it. Giving his thanks, Alex left Galea Town, heading home. He wanted to warm himself up, and given his insight into Zephyria, he wished to make a return trip. He'd just have to make a call to someone first... Picking up the above goodies, and confirming 3 candies from Nothung, which will be fed to my level 42 Abomasnow along with the 5 claimed levels to take him to an even 50. Many thanks for the campaign. |
