What is your favorite holiday movie?
Note: this thread may already exist. Also, there is no poll since there will probably be more than 10 movies anyways.
So, this question is pretty easy to answer. What is your favorite holiday movie? Personally, for me, I have never been to big on holiday movies. Never particularly enjoyed the A Christmas Carol, watched a Wonderful Life. enjoyed it, but never saw it as a favorite. My favorite holiday movie however is "The Nightmare before Christmas." A excellent movie, one that was beautifully crafted, with good characters and a nice plot. I have always enjoyed this movie, and prefer to watch it over any other during the holidays.

As a child, without a doubt the stop-motion Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer television special.
As a teen or young adult, I dunno. It's a Wonderful Life was pretty epic the first time I saw it. It was the first time it had aired on television for some years (I guess 'cause people tired of it) and I was in high school at the time so I was old enough to appreciate what this movie was about every step of the way. Great movie, I'd say, if a mite long when shown on television. More recently, I haven't watched American television or movies much and by the time I visit family for Christmas all of the holiday specials have long since aired.

I've had multiple favorite holiday movies and had a tradition of watching all the Harry Potter movies (that had been released so far) on Christmas break. Thing is that there are now so many it's a chore. ^^''
So I'll go "exotic" and say Tokyo Godfathers. Anime movie? Yes. Heartwarming? Absolutely!

Love Actually. No contest. /sap
Home Alone and The Muppet Christmas Carol deserve honourable mentions though.

Muppet Christmas Carol all the way. It's mandatory family viewing at Christmas.
Closely followed by Die Hard. And Die Hard: Die Harder. |

You can't go wrong with any combination of The Muppet Christmas Carol, Elf or Love Actually~
Also they always seem to show Enchanted in the Christmas/New Year period for some reason, and I do love that film even though its not a Christmas film it now totally reminds me of Christmas. |

Back when I was a kid, I liked the Rudolph Christmas special that played every year on CBS. I think Frosty the Snowman always played right before it.
As for right now, nothing beats Bad Santa. |

As a very young child, I always liked How the Grinch Stole Christmas (cartoon version, of course) and the TV special Year Without a Santa Claus. However, more recently I've started enjoying more comedy stuff. Elf was my favorite for a while, until my parents deemed me old enough to watch Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase. Not only my favorite Christmas movie now, but one of my all-time favorite comedies.

Sleepy Hollow, without a doubt. I used to watch it on Halloween (or in the month of October) without fail when VHS was still a thing.

Well, for Christmas I like A Christmas Carol most.
In my country they broadcast at least 2-4 different versions each year and I watch all of them. I just really like the story, and I've read the book too. And I agree with Doppleganger on the Sleepy Hollow for Haloween. Though I like Saw and Final Destination too ^_^ |
