The addition of Normal typing just screws absol over, really. He gets an extra weakness to Fighting (making him take x4) in exchange for immunity to a type he already resists.

Mr. Mime's original name in Japanese doesn't denote gender, and if anything, the name should be changed to just Mime.

Honestly, gender ratios are fine as-is (plus all-female Ralts line isn't even a good argument because of Gallade, wo I know isn't in this game, but that's no reason to pretend it doesn't exist).

Gastly et al are toxic gasses that have a more ethereal persuasion, so Poison makes sense for them anyway. They're actually more gas than real ghost.

Flame Wheel is still special in Emerald, so it wouldn't do much.

Anyway, on to some suggested changes.

Ninetales should probably be Fire/Psychic or Fire/Ghost, depending on which side of the mythology surrounding it you look into more. Both make sense. Some movepool changes (like getting Shadow Ball by TM) in accordance.

As has been stated, Rock/Fighting Geodude line, with some different nice move changes

Fighting/Flying Farfetch'd (or at the very least, Water/Flying, as it's a duck)

Water/Psychic Golduck, as well as letting him get it by TM this gen (for some reason, they never did it until Gen IV)

Pure Dragon Dragonite

Also been stated, Rock/Grass Sudowoodo

Bug/Water Masquerain is almost mandatory

Bug/Psychic Venomoth and Butterfree

Water/Psychic Gorebyss and Water/Dark Huntail, preferably a change in evolution method as well, for all trade evos.

Flying-typed Twister and Razor Wind.

Also, Luvdisc needs some Bug moves, because the correlation between Stu and Luvdisc.

I honestly think Ground/Bug Flygon is cooler than Bug/Dragon.

And, of course, levitating Metapod.

Well, you could just take random trainers you don't think you'll need, drop them in there, and then edit them. Though that would require taking a lot of notes on their parameters, so it might be equally time consuming as finding out how to make new battles.
