Brock was like the hardest part. After that it got a lot easier. Misty was a little tough too but not so bad.

Ok so Gary is officially retarded - he sent out his Gyarados against my Jolteon immediately after I'd OHKO'd his Pidgeotto. Muppet.

In his defense, he did cut the strength of your Pin Missile and Bite attacks in half.

Easiest Gary battle yet anyway. Next time I pick it up, going through Lavender Tower, then the Dojo. I'll probably then catch as many pokemon as possible.

Team: Ivysaur, Jolteon, Hypno, Gyarados, Graveller, all level 28. Pondering the possibility of adding the Gastly I just caught to my main roster, but not sure how useful it'd be. Have begun thinking about my team for the E4. Jolteon is definitely coming - with high special stats the the type advantage against four of her pokemon, it should be great for Lorelei, as well as being able to fight Gary's Pidgeot, Gyarados and Charizard well too. I'll want a water type with a decent special attack stat too, for help with Bruno and Lance, preferably one not weak to rock (those two criterion rule out Gyarados and the silph co Lapras, so I'll see what I get from the various water routes). Not sure what else. Shame Hypno gets easily outrun by Gengar.

Why preferably not weak to Rock? Lapras should be able to easily outspeed Bruno's Onix and has solid defenses for Lance's Aerodactyl. Tentacruel is a decent choice otherwise, but Lapras has amazing base stats.

Onix' base speed is actually higher than Lapras, so it would depend on level I guess. Will see if I can be bothered to train loads. While Gyarados would outspeed Onix most likely, it's special attack isn't all that great. Tentacruel would also offer the bonus of resisting fighting, so would be a very useful addition for Bruno, and I'm very likely to see one on one of the water routes. May well bring both Lapras and Tentacruel.

Despite Hypno's high special defence, I fear STAB SE shadow balls off of Gengar given its insane special attack stat, plus insane speed. Toying with the idea of teaching Jolteon shadow ball, if I can remember where you get the TM.

It'd only be backed by a base 65 attack stat iirc.
Don't know Hypno's defense but I'm sure it could handle a few.

Huh, I'd forgotten that ghost was physical. Hypno's defence isn't all that great, but it's not awful.

Flannery murdered them all.
Well, almost. Swellow was setting up Double Teams when a Smog hit him and poisoned, so he got switch out when I forgot he had guts. Ninjask, Grovyle, and Demon Princess died defeating the Slugmas. Kirlia set up a few DT's and CM's before getting slain by body slam. Breloom got a Stun Spore, but was incinerated by a Overheat after a Mach Punch. Swellow set up one DT, and got some revenge with guts + silk scarf + stab with quick attack. Before I could reach a PokeCenter, Swellow died of poisoning.
So, joining the DPPt Nuzlocke Club now that I finally dug out my Platinum.
Nicks, Unique/1 'mon per family, faint=permabox, etc.

Why were you DT'ing during Story Mode? O_o Maybe that was your problem: you were relying too heavily on strategy and not heavily enough on BRUTE FORCE >D to make your way through the game. I mean, I know Grovyle's a grass type and all, but he lost to a Slugma? After he had a safe switch-in from Ninjask's death? Even with an opponent who goes 2nd (slow) and has no resistance to his STAB (grass against Fire/Rock)?

Shame anyway. Good luck this next time.

Provided you don't lose them, you've gotten two of the best Pokémon the 4th generation has to offer. And for Nuzlocke concerns, no less! Staraptor's Intimidate = buh-bye, most fears of physical attacks which can ordinarily OHKO or 2HKO. Empoleon's Steel-type = oh I'm sorry? Did you say you wanted to poison me? Too bad, asshole!

That's some good luck you've got there. Let's hope it keeps.

Yeah, a x4 weakness to ice wouldn't be very smart at all, and Infernape's poor defenses immediately took them off the list. Luckily scored Quiet on Piplup and Adamant on Starly, so I'm confident I'll be able to at least pass the first few gyms before being murdered.

Lost my Crobat to Wake's bloody Floatzel (Ice Fang, snapped out of Confusion at the first attempt, then Pursuit when I tried the switch)

First proper loss that, I feel like a little part of me's died! Monferno, Gyarados both still around at L30ish, plus a recently caught Hippopotas which could come in handy later: Yay for the Ruin Maniac's Cave.

Got to Jubilife with no major problems, Kricketot ended up dying while biding but THT doesn't matter.
Also, I realized I could still continue my Sapphire challenge because I still have one pokemon left.

Actually, Slugma is pure fire. He doesn't gain the Rock type until evolution.

So.
-Caught Koraeto the Budew in the route north of Jubilife before fighting starter.
-Grinded on Psyducks on the Ravaged Path after IThinkNot the Zubat was caught and box'd.
-Swept through rival, Piplup at Lv. 11 and Starly/Budew at Lv. 9
-Caught Leo the Shinx in the same route, training him to about Lv. 9 before Oreburgh.

Frightened by CRANIDEATH at this point but if Ibave a high enough level I should be fine.
