"That was certainly an experience but I'm glad to see you again." The man recounted the various spooks he had encountered to the man he had initially come to the Haunted Mansion to meet. The professor didn't seem all too fazed, though, he had made his way through the exact same maze after all and appeared to have arrived at the archway unscathed. Having reached their desired destination, Zak turned to his Pokémon and gave them both a signature thumbs up. At this, the Murkrow squawked happily and flew up to land on his trainer's shoulder whilst the shiny Drifblim rushed forwards to embrace the man and the baby crow with its long arms. "Crawford, Sunny, thanks for all of your help today, I think this place would have driven me insane if it wasn't for you guys." With the ritual they had come to witness just around the corner, the trio settled themselves down on the grass of the clearing to await the arrival of their fellow explorers. The man was glad to have encountered his old friends Emp and Jess during their time in the maze but he hoped that the two had not suffered too much at the hands of the maze and its spectral inhabitants. If they themselves weren't illusions conjured by the maze, anyway... Thanks again for the awesome event, Gary - it's been a whole lot of fun and I'm over the moon to be reunited with my beautiful blimp

~~~Updates~~~ Raves: You head south from the dilapidated shed for a short distance before turning west. Soon enough, you arrive at another clearing… lilboocorsola: You head west from the spooky tree in what appears to be a very short walk before coming across another clearing… PikaGod: As you passed by the fountain and made your way towards an exit, a small pair of tentacles rose out of the water. Whatever they belonged to rapidly shot out of the fountain and a blur of disorienting lights muddled your head as things became Topsy-Turvy. Without realizing it, you began to embark down a different path instead… PikaGod: Confused as to how you ended up going this way, you embarked down the eastern path, walking forward for a short distance before the trail quickly turns north and then east once more. After another short distance, the trail turns jagged, going from south to east to south to east and then south once more. Soon enough, you arrive at another clearing… Emi, Lil’twick: You head west from the crowned statue for a short ways with no twists or turns. You spot an old broken pillar up ahead, and as you approach it, you notice blood splattered all over it. You then head north then east then north then east again as you make some jagged turns. You walk straight for a short distance and then turn north for a short while before arriving at another clearing… Sneaze: You press onward, ignoring the uneasy feeling in your stomach. The trail spirals from north to south, leading you into a clearing with a dead end, but something ominous rests in the middle… ChrisClark13, Ironthunder: You choose one of the pathways and immediately make a sharp turn and approach a clearing with an archway… it can’t be… the Maze’s Entrance? No way, do you move closer to find out? ~~~Locations~~~ Maze Entrance: (sixdragons) As you step foot into the Maze of Shrubbery, you experience a strange sensation that you can’t quite trust your sense of direction anymore. There are three paths to traverse; to the East, to the West, and to the North. Armored Statue: (lilboocorsola) You come across a rather large clearing that is highlighted by a prominent statue in the middle of a soldier with a shield in one hand and a sword in the other. Your options are South, West, North, North East, or East in the direction of the spooky tree. The statue seems to be taking an aggressive stance… Defaced Statue: (Emi, Lil’twick, PikaGod) A dirty and dingy clearing that looks like it’s seen better days. There’s an old bust of a man smashed into several pieces on the ground, unrecognizable as it’s been vandalized and scribbled over with a marker. Your options are North back towards the fountain, South, South West, West, or North West. Crown Statue: (Raves) A small clearing that’s only feature is a small regal-looking statue of a pointed crown. Your options are West, East, or South. Creepy Well: (Sneaze) A small clearing at a dead end with an ancient and ominous looking well sitting in the middle. It looks really creepy, as if you’d expect a black-haired girl to climb out of it at any moment. A rotten, scratched out wooden sign has been kicked over. As you look around, you suddenly notice a very creepy looking Buneary drenched in blood sitting on the edge of the well. You have no idea where it came from, but its unblinking stare gives off very strong vibes to stay away from it. Disorienting Corridor: (ChrisClark13, Ironthunder) A simple fork in the road, but a mysterious feeling completely blocks your perception of direction. Your options are the First pathway, the Second pathway, or the Third pathway. A trail of string seems to be going down the First pathway. Maze Exit: Maskerade Somewhere within the maze a gruesome, ominous sound permeates the entire maze. It sounds like sloshing, or maybe scratching; it doesn’t sound natural so it’s hard to tell. Either way, it can’t be good. A cry roars throughout the garden; however you can’t tell if it’s laughing or shrieking. A low hum vibrates across the ground. |
Approaching the well, Allison looks around at the sad state of the place, as well as the incredibly creepy blood soaked bunny staring at her from the edge of the well.
"Oh wow..." she mutters to herself, awed by the sight. She had heard about a magical well recently in news reports, could this be the one? But why was everything here so spooky, including this blood red bunny? Looking down at the sign she makes a decision. She was going to fix up this well! "Hey Tina, let's help out here!" She chimes to the bird, trying to avert her gaze from the bunny. The Pidove isn't quite so able, burying her head into Allison's neck with a terrified coo. "It's okay, I'm sure that bunny is just sad that the well is broken." Digging through her pockets she clutches onto a small stone, before presenting it to the Pidove. "I'm going to go try to fix the sign. You take this Wishing Piece over to the well!" |
~~~Updates~~~ Emi, Lil’twick, PikaGod: You head south from the dilapidated shed for a short distance before turning west. Soon enough, you arrive at another clearing… lilboocorsola: You head south from the armored statue, and the trail almost immediately turns east. After a short while of walking, the path makes a u-turn and points west for a short while. The trail then turns north again and them immediately u-turns south. As you make your way through the maze you begin to wonder if you’ve gone down a path where you might never be found again. The trail turns east and immediately u-turns west before turning north for another long stretch of eventless adventure. The trail then u-turns south, then east, then south again, and you come across… a dead end. All of that walking for nothing. Just as you’re about to turn back, a yellow clawed hand rests on you and your Pokemon’s shoulders and before you know it, everything goes white for a moment… lilboocorsola: Your vision clears as you stand in another dead end, but this one is definitely different from where you were before. That being said, your only exit is to the south… Raves: You head west from the crowned statue for a short ways with no twists or turns. You spot an old broken pillar up ahead, and as you approach it, you notice blood splattered all over it. You then head north then east then north then east again as you make some jagged turns. You walk straight for a short distance and then turn north for a short while before arriving at another clearing… Sneaze: Ignoring all warnings whatsoever, you and your Pokemon approach the well and toss in a item suited for a different kind of well. A dark cloud swirls within the well and an eerie wave of energy begins to emanate from it. The creepy Buneary’s eyes dilate for a moment and it leaps forward, grabbing the trainer’s Pidove and leaping into the well with it. An eardrum-blasting scream pierces through the air for a few seconds as an eruption of black mist billows out of the well. As the commotion finally subsides, you look around but all is silent. Neither Buneary nor your Pokemon are anywhere to be found. Where they could be is anyone’s guess, but it’s certainly not here. With little else to do here, your only option is to leave north, back the way you came. ChrisClark13, Ironthunder: You calmly press onward through the archway, and as you do so your vision begins to clear. You look around and see a man standing there waiting for you. It was none other than Professor Palm, who smiles and welcomes you. “Good work, you’re the first one through! Now, let’s wait here for the others, there’s still some time until the ritual begins!” Congratulations on making it through the maze! Please check back on October 31st for the conclusion of the event as well as rewards! As someone clears the exit of the maze, a low growling hiss emits from the Disorienting Corridor as the area becomes more distorted. ~~~Locations~~~ Maze Entrance: (sixdragons) As you step foot into the Maze of Shrubbery, you experience a strange sensation that you can’t quite trust your sense of direction anymore. Dare you approach the well or exit to the North? The Perch: (Emi, Lil’twick, PikaGod) An old manmade bird perch in the middle of a clearing. Your options are East, West, or South back the way you came. Maze Exit: Maskerade Somewhere within the maze a gruesome, ominous sound permeates the entire maze. Peeking through the brambles, Michael is shocked by what he sees. His art skills weren't the greatest, but he quickly took out a notebook and began to sketch what the Pumpkasaurs were changing to before his very eyes, as well as the much larger hulking figure in the back. He then took extensive notes of their behaviour, ready to report home.
Spoiler: show Brambasaur Grass/Poison Evolves from Pumpkasaur at level 16 "It's bulb now a fully formed pumpkin, numerous small brambles and vines sprout from the bottom of the gourd. These vines are dotted by small thorns that secrete a powerful, viscous poison used for defense from large predators while in this middle evolutionary stage. This comes with a significant drawback, however, as Brambasaur's body is not yet fully prepared to handle these poisons, causing large, pussing sores as the vines get stuck tangled across the body of the Pokemon as they grow, searching for anything they can attach themselves to as they gain strength." Spoiler: show Remnasaur Grass/Ghost Evolves from Brambasaur using a Dusk Stone "Its body has decayed heavily thanks to the terrible toxins created by its vines, with its now rotting fleshy hide unable to support itself, let alone the large jack-o-lantern attached to its back. Instead, its vines have grown much thicker with the sharp thorns at the end having formed into apposable claws that can be used to support the Pokemon. Remnasaur no longer ingests food itself, instead, the rotting smell of its flesh attracts would-be scavengers which it then drains of energy with its toxic barbs before burning their corpses at a low heat in its jack-o-lantern as sustainance. This burning process puts off little light, allowing for Remnasaur to hide its jack-o-lantern in the thick purple fog it puts off when hunting for additional prey." |

Jess whirled around as the white faded, searching desperately for a glimpse of the claw that had grabbed her. Come to think of it, the hand that had pulled her away from the pillar before... At the time she had been preoccupied with thoughts of tentacles gobbling up poor unsuspecting children, but the entity definitely felt more ethereal - a familiar (perhaps protective?) force, almost. Only the forearm's sangria skin wasn't covered in horrific burns as she recalled, already lifeless limb stripped down to but scraps of flesh and bone... Shaking her head to suppress the painful memory, she continues on to the South.

~~~Updates~~~ Emi, Lil’twick, PikaGod: You head down the western path from the perch. You turn north and then west again, walking in that direction for quite some time before making a u-turn east for an equal distance. You turn north, then east again, then u-turn west and move in that direction until you become completely disoriented which direction you’re actually facing. Your vision blurs and as you spin around you can only make out three options; the first, the second, and the third, each one looking the same. lilboocorsola: Bewildered to where you’ve been sent to, you have little choice but to keep moving. You move to the south before the trail abruptly turns west, and it goes on for quite some distance. After a while of walking, the trail pulls a 180 and turns east. After another short distance of walking, the trail turns north into a clearing. Raves: You head south from the defaced statue and head in that direction for a short ways until the path makes an abrupt u-turn and heads north for quite some distance. The trail then makes a quick east then west diversion before turning back north into another clearing… Sneaze: Deciding to not tempt fate with the well demon anymore, you leave the creepy clearing at its northern exit. It’s a bit of a walk as you loop back and forth down the trails you came, but eventually you arrive back at the armored statue once more. As you arrive, you hear the sound of branches crackling and snapping as well as the rustle of leaves from the way you just came. ~~~Locations~~~ Maze Entrance: (sixdragons) As you step foot into the Maze of Shrubbery, you experience a strange sensation that you can’t quite trust your sense of direction anymore. There are three paths to traverse; to the East, to the West, and to the North. Unarmed Statue: (Sneaze) You come across a rather large clearing that is highlighted by a prominent statue in the middle of an unarmed soldier. Your options are South, West, North, North East, or East in the direction of the spooky tree. Crown Statue: (lilboocorsola) A small clearing that’s only feature is a small regal-looking statue of a pointed crown. Your options are West, East, or South. The Perch: (Raves) An old manmade bird perch in the middle of a clearing. Your options are East, West, or South back the way you came. A Pidove soaked in blood sits on the perch and stares down at you with its creepy, incessant gaze. Disorienting Corridor: (Emi, Lil’twick, PikaGod) A simple fork in the road, but a mysterious feeling completely blocks your perception of direction. Your options are the First pathway, the Second pathway, or the Third pathway. A trail of string seems to be going down the Second pathway. A trail of bloody footprints seems to be going down the Third pathway. Maze Exit: Maskerade Somewhere within the maze a gruesome, ominous sound permeates the entire maze. It sounds like sloshing, or maybe scratching; it doesn’t sound natural so it’s hard to tell. Either way, it can’t be good. A cry roars throughout the garden; however you can’t tell if it’s laughing or shrieking. A low hum vibrates across the ground. Every now and then the hedge walls begin to rattle in a rather uneasy manner. The wind picks up, giving a chilling breeze that sweeps through the maze, along with it a series of indistinguishable whispers. |
