The greatest test of all is that of Time.

Marshal's Headquarters

Maskerade
: The interest in the proclaimed test by the man and the response is not lost on him as he only furrows his brow at the metaphor. "There is no rrrration about these wanted men, boy, but since you feel inclined for a challenge, so be it. Hastings! Fetch me those two rrrrecruits!"

The clerk at the desk nods and gives a quick salute before turning to the Metang and mumbling something to the steel type, who responds with a quick affirmative beep before rising from the desk and zooming off into another room. While you and the marshal wait, your eyes are drawn to his badge, and the name Whetstone embossed into the brass, as well as the intricate design giving the hint of a man with a higher than average record. After a brief moment the Metang returns with a pair of pokemon trudging behind as it points them in the direction of your group.

The taller of the two flexes their clawed legs, attached to orange thighs with a creamy yellow feathered body, and two arms from the shoulders of considerable length, the Combusken looking a little confused. The shorter one meanwhile plods quickly behind them, with claws on the arms like shovels compared to the bird's, and smaller dumpy body supported by stubby legs, the Drilbur having trouble focusing as the sights and sounds have it distracted.

"Slice! Trrrrremor! Attention!" Whetstone barks at the pair, as the Combusken stops and begins to raise arm to head to salute when the Drilbur, taken by surprise, jumps and blunders into the back of the bird, toppling it as the man stands there, unimpressed. After a short moment of floundering, the pokemon eventually get up and stand to attention.

"As demonstrrrrated," he begins, "these two pokemon have joined the force not too long ago, following eagerness to do work. Despite this, they are not completely used to the squad, and the task before you is to take them out on patrrrrol around this part of the city, in a trrrraining rrrregiment. There are thrrree stations, and each one will have a task for them and you. The goal will be to accomplish each task, and for the pair to tolerrrrate each other and their fellow officerrrrs. Of course, you will rrrrreceive payment for this, if you feel you can keep these dingbats under contrrrrol..."

As the briefing ends, Tremor is given a wallop by Slice's stretching, knocking them onto their back as they flail around in an attempt to get up, as you find the pair are not the most dynamic of duos. Are you up to the challenge of making a mon out of these two?

: Despite one of your best being taken down, you had confidence in Marvolo's strength to pull through and make a full recovery, recalling the defeated serpent as you give the order to haul ass. The exit lies only a few metres from your group, and taking action Andromeda grabs Amanda in another psychic support, the pair rushing through first as you and Meowth back towards the tunnel, the energy in the crystals on the Claydol building up. As you enter, you look at the Claydol as it begins to twirl, the energy starting to build in a corkscrew manner, and at Meowth's call to hurry up, you look away and make a break for it down the tunnel.

A horrible cry from behind you, followed by a crashing of stone clues you in on the fact the Claydol is pursuing, and as you chance a glance over shoulder, you see to your mercy that the tunnel is too narrow for it, as it tries to bore through to a general lack of effect, as it appears to shriek at you and your group as you bolt down the hallway. Neither of you stop moving for a good couple of moments, until Andromeda begins to slow her movement, the strain of supporting a human and herself starting to wear her down as you all agree to take a breather, and contemplate what you just experienced.

"...w...we're s-safe, for now...I think..." Amanda pants, her bad arm limply hanging down as she holds the shoulder, clearly muscling through the pain of her scar, while the rest of her body seems to be holding her weight. Meowth seems the best off of your group, and navigating that ruin has done both him and the Starmie some favours. Meowth and Andromeda gained 2 levels. As you take a moment, you find the tunnel rising, and what appears to be daylight at the end of it, which you point out to the group.

"Light...I can't remember the last time I p-properly saw the sun..." Amanda gasps, as you offer a hand to her, giving Andromeda a respite from her psychic strain as your pokemon follow you. For now, the Claydol is far behind, and out of the picture. Making your way up, you find the light source...and your heart drops a couple of inches as you look up at the small grate dozens of feet above you, too small for even Meowth to squeeze through, the storm drain almost teasing you. Amanda looks almost crestfallen, but you reassure her of a way out of these warrens, continuing along the pathway.

The path is dimly lit with the occasional spike of light, and every now and then you swear you could hear the sound of stone grinding, though whether it was the Claydol or just your imagination is out of the question. What isn't, however, is the sound of some sort of commotion ahead, and above you, seemingly on the surface. Approaching, you find another column of light, this one more open, only for some sort of shadow to pass over it, followed a couple of seconds later by a somewhat familiar sounding screech, and another shadow to cover the hole, followed by surprised squeaks.

"What the..."

Amanda's words come before yours and Meowth's as something starts coming down the grate. Dare you investigate, or move on?

Taking the chance, you approach them, while Silas gets a good whiff of the man. "Whoa, take it easy, kid," he says, holding hands out in a defensive posture, before eyeing you up. "I can tell you ain't a Shell like the others, and ain't one of us Shells either..."

"Right, lemme explain. These Shells come in two categories. Then you got us folks, the recruits who don't got combat power, but either got here through desp'ration, or through abduction. Me, I was one of the former. "We lower class workers get shoved in these cells for sleepin' and have these little shits here to make sure we sleeps," he gestures to the purple flame, which on second glance appears to be a miserable-looking candle, small yellow eyes staring forlorn at you and Silas. "Yeah, these Litwicks get what little food they get a day when we finish shifts, sap our energy and force us to pass out. In return, they get this little prison."

"But anyways, the hard Shells, they got some project working, summat to do with some sorta gems. They don't tell us plebs, of course. We just feed them, clean their cathedral up, that sorta shit. Anyways, I could tell youse ain't a proper one, so I gots info for ya if you want to get some goodies. I'm assumin' yer a thief or something, here to make a killin' off the backs of the hardies' work? I mean, what else you here for if not that?"

The man reclines back on the bed, giving a shrug. "These cells in partick, they're for the condemneds, folks too ill or whatnot to go. Tomorrow, they'll be haulin' me and a couple others to the dead grounds and tossin' us in for their amusement. Me, I got a fucked lung, not gonna last th' week," he coughs, a little watery. "Anyways kid, you better be off. Patrol's due in a couple minutes, so if you got anythin' else to ask a dead man talking, make it quick."

The man lies on the bed, raising two fingers at the lantern-caged Litwick, as though telling it to wait a moment, before looking at you and the Houndoom, ready to give you what information you're looking for in terms of goal. Will you humour a doomed man's request and give your reasons for being here? Have you any further questions regarding subjects? Approaching, you find another column of light, this one more open, only for some sort of shadow to pass over it, followed a couple of seconds later by a somewhat familiar sounding screech, and another shadow to cover the hole, followed by surprised squeaks.

"What the..."

Amanda's words come before yours and Meowth's as something starts coming down the grate. Dare you investigate, or move on?
It was a tense situation, for sure. Marvolo was one of Keith's strongest Pokémon, and didn't stand a damn chance against the Shattered Psyche that that Claydol pulled off. Perhaps, under different circumstances, Keith might be more inclined to tackle that Claydol, but those circumstances were most certainly not present here and now, and Keith was smart enough to see that.

Meanwhile, Claydol was making a nerve-wracking effort to follow them, but to Keith's immense relief, the Corkscrew Crash was not making the tunnel large enough to accompany the beast. They continued to run, only slowing down once Andromeda's voice sounded in Keith's head.

Can we... take a rest? came the telepathic request. The danger... far behind us... I'm getting... tired...

Keith nodded. "Alright, we can stop here... for now..." he panted slightly- not out of shape by any means, but still, so much frantic running was bound to take its toll in some respect, and so, yes, he too panted. He nodded as Amanda remarked that they seemed to be safe for now. Keith looked around at this small group. Amanda was doing relatively OK. She was clutching her scarred shoulder, the arm hanging limply below, but she was supporting her own weight, which wasn't nothing. Andromeda taking a breather seemed to be doing her some good- by no means a comprehensive fix, but it was better than not resting at all. Meowth seemed to be doing best of all out of any of them, having not had to really physically exert himself since the Rattata massacre- hitching a ride on Keith's shoulder had its advantages.

Once Keith was certain that everyone was at least relatively OK, he looked around at their surroundings. The tunnel, he realized, sloped upwards. And what was more, at the end of it-

"Sunlight!" Keith breathed, pointing out the light at the distant end of the tunnel. Amanda remarked that she couldn't remember the last time she was able to actually see sunlight properly. It was at this point that Keith offered her a hand, the better to relieve the strain on Andromeda. The Starmie's core pulsed a soft, grateful blue for a second as her way of silently thanking her Trainer. "Alright, let's keep moving," Keith added. "It seemed like we just might be almost out of here."

Emboldened by these words, the group continued onward, until they finally reached the source of the light. It really was sunlight, though that was where the good news ended- the bad news was that between them and aforementioned sunlight was a tiny grate. Too high up for them to reach, and too small even for Meowth to pass through. Andromeda might manage if she used Minimize, but Keith immediately decided against voicing such a suggestion- Andromeda was so tired as it was already. Besides, she had already mentioned sensing a way out accessible to them, a descriptive term decidedly not applicable to this minuscule grate. "It's OK," Keith said, for Amanda looked quite disappointed with the lack of accessible exit this grate offered. "Andromeda said that there's an exit accessible to us. We just need to keep moving and we'll find it."

He's right, the Starmie confirmed telepathically. And with that, they continued on. Their way forward was illuminated, though just barely, with the occasional spike of light poking through. They couldn't be far from the surface now, Keith reasoned. If they just kept going... He blinked, his attention suddenly caught by the sound of... scraping stone above them? He looked, but saw nothing. Briefly he worried that it could be that Claydol again, but figured they'd have been on the business end of a maliciously-intended Z-Move by this point had Claydol managed to catch up. And for Claydol to follow them, there'd have to be a hell of a lot more than just scraping sounds. Crashing, cracking, crumbling- Claydol would have to absolutely wreck the tunnel walls in order to pursue them.

Before Keith could think much more on this, however, he heard a commotion above them, apparently on the surface. He looked up- a much more open column of light shone down upon them. Some sort of shadow passed over it... and a screech sounded that was somewhat familiar to Keith. He exchanged glances with Meowth in which they both silently asked each other the same thing- was that Hawkeye? And then, another shadow came over the hole, this one accompanied by surprised-sounding squeaks. If the first shadow was indeed Hawkeye, then that would make this one Chespin, Keith reasoned.

Amanda didn't seem to know what to make of this. Indeed, even Keith wasn't completely sure. That these were the Decidueye and Chespin from earlier was certainly possible, even plausible- no doubt Donovan would be trying to locate Keith and help get him out of the sewers, and it was equally feasible that Hawkeye and Chespin would get in on the search as well. But... was this them? Keith couldn't tell- staring into the bright light wasn't going to do him much favors in terms of eyesight, and the shadows were not easily discernible, partly due to aforementioned bright light. In such conditions, one would be hard-pressed to tell a Starly from a Starmie.

Keith glanced at Andromeda, saying nothing with his mouth, but speaking volumes with his eyes. He didn't want to make the Starmie exert herself any more than she had, nor any more than was strictly necessary... but this, he felt, fell under the heading of strictly necessary. In his eyes, a silent plea for her to identify the newcomers so he knew what needed doing.

You need not feel guilty about asking this of me, Andromeda assured Keith. It is a question of keeping us all safe. I ask only that I be allowed a rest in my ball once we are out of danger. This request was met with a reassuring smile and nod from Keith, and so the Starmie set to work, seeing if she could identify the newcomers. If it was indeed Hawkeye and Chespin, or even Donovan, that was fine. Keith knew that Amanda wasn't especially keen on the idea of returning to the vanguard, but if that's what it came to, he was intent on making it known that she was innocent, and making damn sure they didn't hurt her any further. If, of course, Andromeda identified imminent danger, they would haul ass as best they could, and he, Keith, had a plan to buy them some time to get away if it came down to that. He had a bag of marbles still sitting in the Key Items pocket of his backpack- if a quick getaway was needed, Keith planned to have Meowth pour the marbles on the floor behind them, ideally making it so any pursuers slip on them and fall down. Of course, whether it went down like this was entirely up to what Andromeda reported, and so Keith waited for the Starmie's findings. Boy, was she saving their asses multiple times over today, or what?

If it's just you feeling this odd sense, perhaps it can be put to the wayside.

You follow the pair of Aimee and Rochelle for a few more street corners before the latter finally becomes aware that you're still present. She turns around sharply and glares at you.

"Kid, when I said get lost, I meant it. Your home isn't this way and you know it. What's your deal, 'cause if you're the Shell spy we've been looking for, then I will personally tear you limb from limb right here and now." she snarls at you, the tired demeanor previously in her voice gone. You can tell she means everything she says, and has probably done it before to boot. Wanting to keep your limbs attached, you explain that you wanted to join the Ribs. Rochelle raises an eyebrow, finding this intriguing.

"Is that so, then? Considering Aimee here didn’t seem to even faze you despite having taken Shredder with her, perhaps you might be capable enough...no, in fact, I'm making this not optional, because I'm done taking chances. As you probably just heard me say, we've been dealing with a traitor. A spy. Any movement we make, the Shells are right there to greet it. They managed to get by our guard and plant a giant Ariados in the Mall, even, which has been no shortage of problems. Point is, I know one thing's for certain: they've got someone on the inside here, and I want them rooted out. They should be somewhere in this area-your job is to find them, and bring their sorry ass back to the Mall by nightfall so I can deal with them myself. If you fail, or turn out to be working for them?" Rochelle steps closer to you menacingly, while Wisp starts to point at something and make a small ruckus in your arms. "You better hide and pray I never find you." she finishes, before gritting her teeth as Wisp's fussing grows incessant. As you both look to see what Wisp has been trying to show you, you see far in the distance from where Rochelle had been standing, Aimee rounding a street corner. Rochelle's eyes widen, as she reaches back for where she had replaced Shredder's Ball, only to find it missing. "Damnit, Aimee-okay, kid, your OTHER objective is to bring Aimee back. ALIVE. Understood? Get going!" she says to you, before pointing you in the direction her sister had just fled.

Still not wanting to be dismembered, you follow Rochelle's directions, and run after Aimee with everything you can muster. She's not all that difficult to track, in truth, as her footsteps are quite loud, giving you a general sense of where she is. However, wherever she's going, she clearly knows the way there better than you do. You grow worried as the sound of footsteps stops, and is slowly replaced by the sounds of battle. You can't seem to pinpoint the exact location, however, until you notice a small alley that you must have missed before. You quickly make your way down it and come across a run-down warehouse, the door wide open. That's when you hear Aimee scream from within. Remembering that Rochelle wants her back in one piece (and still not wanting to be dismembered), you rush in, and are greeted by a ghastly sight.

Another Rib-looking man is at one end of the warehouse, a black bandana and a chain-gang shirt with ripped black denim jeans his mode of attire. He's holding onto a cell phone, and has an evil sneer on his face, and it's not hard to see why. Just in front of him stands a Palossand, which is currently in the process of consuming its next victim, Aimee desperately holding onto what solid ground remains around her. Shredder snarls at the sand castle, beaten and bruised, but clearly unable to do much, it seemed. At that moment, it lunged at the Palossand once more, and with a Bite attack, took off a few of the large seashells that decorated its body. This elicited a new reaction as it flinched, sharply crying out in pain, as the "Rib" directing it notices you.

"Ah, damnit, the little girl even thought to bring backup. Guess I'll just have to erase you too, so my little secret doesn't get out!" he says, sneering.

It's do or die time! Your opponent is Palossand-what's your first move?
Not in the mood to backtalk orders, Austin complied to babysitting Aimee. If she was needed alive, then that was something that could easily be taken care of. After all, after his previous experiences, survival was something that he didn't need to worry about. Fate would deliver him to his own path, that much was certain. And with that, he chased after the girl.

Soon he was face to face with the traitor. A Palossand... Built by the damned to cast those who dare trod on it into a sandy abyss. Ghosts were something he was very willing to deal with. After all, after his experience at the Phantom Isles, they were part of his nature. There is no respite for the living, no rest for the weary, and no quarter for the damned. If this traitor wanted to drown him in sand, he'd just have to freeze him to death.

"The song of the shifting sea... It calls to me. If only I brought Lorelei with me, but I didn't. Yet, he shall suffice. Yuke! Get off your lazy ass," Austin mutters, and throws a Pokeball to fight the giant sand beast. Out comes a Spheal, who seemed to be dozing off in his ball. The small blubberball looks at his foe, then gives his trainer a questioning look.

"The key to victory is to exploit your foes weaknesses. You saw me do that full well with Parker, Yuke. Now, let's see that special Water Compaction of a Palossand at work... Douse it with a Water Gun!" He ordered, seeing the man start to laugh at him. It would make Shredder's attacks useless at this rate.

"And I shall draw strength from wisdom! Yuke, then freeze the castle with a Powder Snow. And then another one for good measure! Let us see if my deductions are right. If so, let this empty heart belie by the sea once more."

If so, now was the time to act, as you doubt that another opportunity for information would come along.
Clearly, this was no place to stay for too long, but Michael had to take the chance that the prisoner that was calling him over had something important to say, so he went back to the cell to do just that, though he did greet him in a fairly rough manner. "Whoa, take it easy, kid," the man put his hands up, meaning no harm. "I can tell you ain't a Shell like the others, and ain't one of us Shells either..."

"There's...two kinds of Shells?" Michael asked in confusion.

"Right, lemme explain. These Shells come in two categories. You got the folks like you who have that metal bullet casing - those are real by the way - who got skills or power, and who follow that Rigel guy's word. Then you got us folks, the recruits who don't got combat power, but either got here through desp'ration, or through abduction. Me, I was one of the former. Money was tight, they came into the heights one day asking for workers for some project." He spat at the floor, as though he resented what the "project" represented to him. "We lower class workers get shoved in these cells for sleepin' and have these little ****s here to make sure we sleeps." He then pointed to the purple flamed candle, which revealed itself to be a Pokemon. "I knew something was off about those candles," Michael said to himself before the man continued, "Yeah, these Litwicks get what little food they get a day when we finish shifts, sap our energy and force us to pass out. In return, they get this little prison."

"So...you're all basically slaves," Michael realized. "You and the Litwick."

"But anyways," he continued, "the hard Shells, they got some project working, summat to do with some sorta gems. They don't tell us plebs, of course. We just feed them, clean their cathedral up, that sorta ****."

"Gems..." Michael muttered to himself. This guy could be referring to the crystals he came across in the tunnel on the way here! "Anyways, I could tell youse ain't a proper one, so I gots info for ya if you want to get some goodies. I'm assumin' yer a thief or something, here to make a killin' off the backs of the hardies' work? I mean, what else you here for if not that?"

"You could say that," Michael muttered, his intentions potentially more sinister depending on what information would be revealed to him about the Shells. "These cells in partick, they're for the condemneds, folks too ill or whatnot to go. Tomorrow, they'll be haulin' me and a couple others to the dead grounds and tossin' us in for their amusement. Me, I got a ****ed lung, not gonna last th' week." His speech was interrupted by a cough, demonstrating just how short his time was. "Anyways kid, you better be off. Patrol's due in a couple minutes, so if you got anythin' else to ask a dead man talking, make it quick."

Michael had to think quickly about what sorts of questions he prioritized, but he did have a good idea of what he wanted. "Silas, you keep watch, let me know if you see or hear anything." After a nod from the Houndoom, Michael began to ask as many questions as he could within the short time frame they had, in order of priority:

1) "Rumor has it these Shells used to be a part of Team Rocket. What do you know about that?"
2) "Who is this Rigel guy? Is he the 'Chief' those thugs were talking about earlier?"
3) "Where are these 'dead grounds' they're gonna take you to anyway? I may or may not have a friend who wants to know."
4) "What about your friend over there, the Litwick? What happens to it when they come to...well, dispose of you?"
5) "So your fate's been decided...nothing anyone can do for you? Or your cellmate?"
6) "You seemed eager to tell me about some treasure, and maybe I am a thief...where might they keep the good stuff? And what even's worth keeping to these guys?"

{So what I'm imagining is some sort of Q/A type of cutscene like the ones in Mass Effect, Telltale games, that kind of thing where you ask a question, they respond, then you can ask about another topic until you run out of topics. Since there's supposed to be a time crunch, it's fine if Michael doesn't get to ask all of them, I just wrote up as many as I could think of that he would ask if given enough time.}

Alice-

David clears his throat, his eyes perking with happiness that you're willing to help him out. You can sense that his family never really helped him or even encouraged him to do anything with his life. That he was useless and just a load.

"There's this abandoned park nearby... It's overgrown now and I can see some Pokemon there whenever I go there," David tells you, a bit meek.

"Oh! Is that the one with the broken swing set and rusted, metal slide?" Junie questions, seeming to perk up at the word 'park'.

"Uh no not that one. That one is Shell Territory, remember?" He responds to her, his eyes looking a bit downtrodden.

"Oh yeah. We need to avoid those bad guys! Same with the Ribs too!" She exclaims, fire in her eyes.

"They're not all that bad... There are nice people in both... But I don't want to end up like them. I want to get out of this city. I'm sure all of you do too," David counters, but his tone doesn't sound aggressive. Though, the rest of the kids start murmuring after his last line. The thought of escape never crossed their minds. The chattering kids started to quiet down, not really sure of their feelings on escape.

"Do you believe the world would treat us better?" Terry speaks up, breaking the silence.

"I do." David answers. This is the first time you can actually hear conviction within his voice.

"Then I'll believe it too," Terry nods.

"Me too!" Junie exclaims. Soon the rest of the children start to shout in agreement.

Once it quiets down, David motions for everyone to follow him. Staying on the river, you guys head under the bridge and past some sleeping homeless people. One stirs, stares at you, then goes back to sleep. Soon, you see a rusted, chain-linked fence with a small opening in it. David crawls in first, and you make sure all of the children get through it first before you squeeze your way through. Definitely a hole that was child sized.

As you make your way through the foliage, you take a look at the park. A sandbox filled with weeds is the first thing you notice, and see a teeter totter off to its side. A jungle gym sits in disrepair, some of the the bars rusted or fallen off. There is a yellow tube slide, with the top filled with holes and the color incredibly faded. Shrubs and weeds line the outskirts of the old park, and the air smells like musty ferns. The area seems fenced off by an old wooden fence, left to rot by the inhabitants of the city. In the middle of the park sits a Cubone.

"There. Him." David points at the Cubone. He slowly approaches the Cubone, who seems to recognize him and approaches him happily.

"Hey, I want you to meat some friends," he says, motioning for everyone to come out of the foliage. The Cubone looks with curiosity, and then starts to cower at the sight of Muddy and Loran.

"No no it's okay. Those are new friends too. Today's the day we can leave," the pudgy boy promises the ground-type, whose eyes seem to perk up.

"Miss, would you mind battling Cubone and me? I know he's wild and not mine... But we're still friends. I just want to make sure we're making the right choice," David asks you, and the rest of the children start to form a circle encircling you and David.

What do you do?

Tate-

Despite Pena's obvious discomfort, you try to have the two of them work together. After all, it only takes a little nudge and some teamwork for something beautiful to be made. Right? Maybe...? Honestly, you didn't expect too much to happen, but it could be a good learning experience for the both of them. Maybe? At this point it felt like all creativity had left the building and all that was left was awkward shame.

The Smeargle could sense Pena's discomfort, and created a little space. It seemed happy by your positivish critique, but the Tyrogue's attitude brought it back towards its more depressed mood. Man, this was awkward. But wasn't that most of life? Maybe this too could be called art. Then again, it could easily just be called angst. No, this was definitely angst.

After awhile, the two Pokemon started to paint again. This time the Smeargle tried to simply do brushwork. Key word tried. All you could see were green scribbles. Man, what was with this Smeargle and green? Most of them could use their tail to create a variety of colors. You watched, and saw green. And more green. And even more green. At this point there was enough green to make a grassland envious. The Smeargle was done, and then pointed at the green blob and then pointed to itself. Was this... block of color a self portrait? Um, okay. The last thing you needed was two fragile Pokemon on your hands.

What do you do?

Alice listened to the bunch of children as they mostly chatted amongst themselves. It was good that they all knew to avoid the gangs and where the territory lines were, but that seemed like a natural thing considering they had all been living there since birth.

Escape came up, an interesting topic, and one that ended with an optimistic result. It was both surprising and not that so many of them had never considered leaving. This was all they had ever known, and it wasn't a very inspiring environment. Alice tried to imagine their reactions to places like the Cloud Garden, to better cities like New Fizz, the joyful rays of Minnao - gosh, they had so much to look forward to.

The trainer joined them in their little trek, unnerved by the notice of the sleeping homeless man (and guilty that, like most people, she struggled to look them in the eye). Rationality said that there were more dangerous people to be spotted by, though. Alice let the children go through the fence first, awkwardly following suit as Lorin stood guard, and the Pokemon had a far easier time waddling through the hole than his trainer had of trying to get through. She got up awkwardly, stretching and joining her charges, blue eyes setting on the Cubone. She liked Cubone, but had never seen one before.

The Pokemon's cowering tugged at Alice's heartstrings as much did since arriving in Bedlam. That really sucked. "Oh, yeah, sure. Of course I'll battle you! It doesn't matter if he's wild as long as you think you can work well as a team, just catch it before you go so nobody tries taking it from you. Especially with the crowd around here." The trainer advised. With that, she plucked an ordinary ball from her belt, "Lorin has a major advantage over Cubone, even with the speed issue, so I'll choose someone else. Okay?" She looked to her sidekick, who nodded in understanding, sitting his nubs down in the dirt to observe. The circle was made, and Alice released her challenger.

"Jasper! Time for a scrap!" Alice declared. In the ring appeared a Sableye, its gem eyes gleaming and broad jagged grin naturally disconcerting. The imp seemed to hunch and twitch, head cocked unnervingly at the Cubone. "Start us off, my man! Use imprison, leer and feint!"

As it turned out, some traditions knew no borders. In Kalos, it was commonplace for people's surnames to refer to their ancestors' occupations, or particularly defining traits. Such was the case with his own, "Beaufort" - beautiful fortress -, and it also seemed to be the case for the officer in front of Luc; as he understood it, one of the man's forefathers had once left a boulder out in the rain. It made little sense to the Kalosian, but who was he to judge customs?

Perhaps this Whetstone character was actually pulling his leg, however. Because the test he had in mind for Luc turned out to be, at its heart, a babysitting assignment. It was, unquestionably, a new challenge for the former Champion, and he usually welcomed those with open arms, but something about looking after the clumsiest Drilbur and Combusken on Arceus's green earth made him uneasy. How was he, a Trainer, supposed to prepare those two for the kind of guerrilla warfare going on in Bedlam?

However, I must not falter. These good men need all the help they can get to maintain order - and both a Drilbur and a Combusken trained to the full extent of their power can be invaluable assets to their cause. Et bien, I will do what I can.

He exchanged a glance with Vega, whose irritation at the sight of the awkward pair was almost palpable. Luc feared he would be unable to restrain his Seviper if she reached breaking point, but mercifully, she realized the importance of the given task and decided to cooperate. And with Vega, cooperation should never be taken for granted.

The oversized viper slithered her way towards the Pokemon still struggling to regain their footing and, red fangs glimmering, showed them her absolute Scariest Face, hoping to adequately to convey the consequences of either disobedience or incompetence to the new recruits.

"Bien sure," reiterated Luc to the man with the strange accent, "we will help these Pokémon reach the... high standards of your company."

Bowing politely, Luc walked away from Whetstone and towards the Drilbur and Combusken to introduce himself.

"Allo, my name is Luc de Beaufort; glad to make your acquaintance, Tremor and Slice," he said with a smile, before tilting his head slightly to point at Vega. "My friend will be keeping a close eye on your progress. By the time we're finished, you'll be the pride of the Marshalls. I would... try to meet her expectations, if I were you."

He finally turned around to look for the squad that was supposed to accompany them on the patrol. Without them, he would have no idea how to reach any of the three stations. Above his shoulder, Polaris also scanned the room, although more out of anxiety than an actual desire to be joined by anyone else; to the Electric-Type, they'd lingered around HQ long enough - too long in fact, as they were now carrying dead weight to boot.

"Patience Polaris," said Luc softly. "Officer Wetrock asked this of us, and we have no reason to refuse. Raising those two is not beyond our capabilities, I assure you. Et vraiment, it could even turn out to be fun!"

Medmana- As you collect the Nest Ball containing your newly captured Sandygast, you instruct Jacob to collect Gloria so that you could finally take leave of this dreadful place. As soon as he picks up the girl however, you find yourself surrounded by officers. Then a familiar face decides to show himself, Officer Derek pushes his way through the other Marshals and starts spouting orders.

"Someone grab that girl and get her medical attention asap", pointing to Gloria, Derek sends a couple of officers to grab her and rush her off to be treated. "The rest of you go and make yourselves useful", the rest of the officers quickly disperse, leaving Jacob, Derek and yourself. "You did a fine job young lady, I dare say I'm impressed. Don't I know you kid?" Derek looked Jacob over....

"You should know me!" Jacob bursts out with rage, "you sent me on the same mission but then when I wanted help getting my Pokemon back you refused!" Jacob kicked at the sand. "I'm leaving now Ami, I refuse to have any more to do with this. Officer at least make sure all the stolen Pokemon are returned to their trainers. Ami, I want you to have this." Jacob hands you a TM Disk with Grass Knot written on it. "Consider it a thank you for helping me get my Gligar back. Farewell, I advise you to get out of Bedlam for a while, this place is dreadful." Jacob was gone in an instant, clearly he needed to leave Bedlam.

"Well, wasn't he the emotional one", smirked Derek."Come back to the station and we will debrief you and see that you are rewarded for your efforts."

You follow Derek back to the Marshal Headquarters, after a brief discussion on what occurred, he gladly tells you that they managed to snag a number of high profile gang members, although Madame Marsh was either dead or escaped. "I appreciate everything you have done, feel free to come back and do some more work for us in the future. Here are your rewards."

You received:
1x Heart Scale
5x Rare Candies
1x Black glasses
1x Assault Vest
$500

(OOC: This is your final update from me, you will need to find a new updater if you want to start a new adventure. I hope you enjoyed having me as an updater)

Sandaa- Wanting to avoid a drawn out battle, you signal to Espy that it is time to put this to an end. You provide orders reassuringly, if you weren't confident in Espy, how could he be confident in himself? The Espeon had built up some boosted now, and it was that stored power that you planned to use to your advantage. Espy's gem glows as he lets off a powerful psychic blast which slams into the Poliwrath, causing the fighting type to stumble backwards. Espy doesn't allow it time to recover, he quickly surges forward, slamming into the Poliwrath's stomach and knocking it onto its back.

"Hydropump", shouts the admin as his Poliwrath quickly executes the order. Espy is launched high into the air as a powerful torrent of water is fired from the Poliwrath's chest. He soars up into the air, surely devastated by the high powered attack. As the water cuts off, you see Espy begin to fall back towards the ground. At first the admin grins, but then he realizes that Espy is far from defeated. The Espeon is in a controlled descent, his head facing down towards the Poliwrath who is still climbing back to his feet. Unaware that it is in danger, the Poliwrath has left itself exposed. A powerful blast of psychic energy bursts from the gem on Espy's head, crushing the Poliwrath into the ground. Espy lands deftly atop the beaten Water type, showing pride in his victory.

Espy gained 3 levels
Scurvy gained 1 level

The mist quickly fades and the admin turns back to his grunts for assistance. However his grunts are unable to assist him as they are pinned under the bodies of their unconscious Mightyena. The bartender's Druddigon stands triumphant with a grey ball of fluff on each shoulder. A closer look reveals the fluff balls to be the Espurrs, they must have assisted the Druddigon!

"Hmm it seems we have been bested", the admin recalls his Poliwrath. "I may be a gang member, but I consider myself a somewhat honorable one." The man releases Grant, who quickly scrambles away towards the tavern and his daughter. "Consider yourselves pardoned", the admin signaled to his men, who quickly freed themselves and came to his side. "You won't be seeing us again." The trio made their exit, it seemed that you had achieved your goal.

Gary pumped his fist as Espy posed victoriously on top of the fallen Poliwrath. “Great job Espy, you were fantastic!” The Espeon smiled knowingly, almost as if he had predicted this outcome. As the mist around the area cleared, regaining visibility across the small side street, Gary spotted the bartender’s Druddigon, who had also come out victorious in its battle against the Mightyena. Perched on each of its shoulders were the two Espurrs from before, who appeared to have lent a hand in combat.

The Ribs admin promptly recalled his Poliwrath back to its Pokeball, allowing Espy to gracefully land back on the pavement on all fours. In a surprising twist of events, the Ribs admin appeared rather calm about his defeat along with his grunts. He seemed to be a good sport about it even, adding that Grant and denizens of the Drunken Druddigon were fully pardoned from their trespassing transgressions and released Grant from his bindings.

After announcing that they would never be seen again, the admin and his grunts turned to return back to their district. This conflict had wrapped up quite smoothly; almost too smoothly, Gary thought. However, all’s well that ends well, so Gary was eager to accept a rather peaceful and harmless resolution. Turning back to face the bartender and his patrons, Gary showed them a triumphant grin. “We did it! And it looks like Jenny and her father are safely reunited!” Espy, who had been quietly sniffing the pair of Espurrs in greeting walked back over to his trainer’s side and Gary gave him a proud pat on the head. “Thanks for all the work Espy, you deserve a rest.” After returning Espy back to his Psychic Ball, Gary waited to see how the others would react.

Sandaa- With the conflict resolving rather quickly, you return to the tavern to meet up with Jenny, her father and the bartender. Grant has his arms wrapped around his daughter as you enter, he seems intent on never letting her out of his sight again. The Bartender and Brandy are attending the Druddigon, wrapping bandages around the bite marks left by the Mightyena. The Espurr are curled up together on a table, napping peacefully after playing their part in the battle. Everyone stops what they are doing when they notice you have arrived. They all offer their thanks, but it is Grant who thanks you the most.

"I don't know where to start mate", Grant's eyes a red from tears as he struggles to get words out clearly. "Not only did you ensure my daughter was safe, you came to my rescue as well. I wish there was something I could do to thank you but unfortunately I'm not that well off. The best I can give you is this." Grant digs a disk out of his back pocket, it appears to be a TM for Icy Wind .

"Are you guys partying without us?" You all turn towards the entrance of the tavern. Chad and Daniel stand inside the doorway, the pair had made pretty good time in getting back to the tavern.

Grant rushes over to meet his comrades, glad to see that both of them were safe. Daniel quickly slumps into a chair, still clearly injured he would need medical attention sooner rather than later. Thankfully Brandy leaves the Druddigon and turns her attention to him instead.

Jenny had remained quiet for a while, but it appeared she was eager to ask something of her father. "Daddy can we keep the kitties?" Of course she wanted to keep the Espurrs, she had become instantly attached to the pair since she first laid eyes upon them.

"I don't think we could look after both darling, we struggle to feed ourselves let alone two extra mouths." Grant made a fair point, there was no point in them all going hungry.

"What about just one then?" Gary can take one as well, he was the one that found them anyways." It seemed Jenny was offering you one of the Espurr, but whether you wanted one of them was up to you."Mr Gary, you can choose one of them, I think one is a boy and the other is a girl, I don't mind which one you choose."

"Hey Jenny", Chad cuts into the conversation, "could I give Gary another option?" The girl has no issue, so Chad presents his offer. "Well I still have this Pokeball we took from the Ribs, I have no idea what is in it though. If you let me take one of the Espurr, you can have whatever is in the ball. what do you think? Do you want one of the Espurr or the mystery Pokemon?

Gary smiled as he witnessed the touching reunion of father and daughter inside the bar. It warmed his heart that this crisis had a happy ending and he could deliver on his promise to the young girl. He blushed bashfully as Grant thanked him for everything he did and handed Gary a TM. He was thankful for the reward, but he hadn’t intervened in this drama to profit from it. “Don’t worry about it, seeing Jenny happy to have her father back is reward enough for me.”

He then turned to see Chad and Daniel enter the bar and grinned. They were still wounded and weary, but at least they had made it home safely. Gary had felt a little guilty about abandoning them back at the Ribs’ lair, but time was of the essence and he had been needed back here at the bar urgently. “Glad to see you guys are still in one piece,” he greeted with a wave.

Jenny finally spoke up, asking her father if she could keep the pair of Espurr kittens that she had grown quite attached to. Unfortunately her family did not have the fiscal means to support two pets, as Grant recounted. Jenny then suggested Gary take one of them home with him. As cute and tempting as they were, Gary was uneasy about splitting the brother and sister up. Fortunately, Chad spoke up with an alternative solution to take one of the siblings home with him and offered Gary a mystery Pokeball they had snagged from the warehouse instead. This solution seemed to work much more favorably on Gary’s conscience, as the two Espurr would be able to live closer together and see each other on a daily basis, and additionally Gary would have the opportunity to rehabilitate the Pokemon that had been previously kidnapped and locked up by the gang members. It was an easy call for Gary to make. “I think that sounds like a great idea, Chad. I couldn’t bear to separate these two kittens from each other, so I’ll gladly take the Pokeball off your hands and see if I can find a good home for it.”

Sandaa- Chad is ecstatic as you accept his proposal, tossing you the ball as he goes to check out his new Espurr. The pair of Pokemon wake up as he approaches. He reaches out and gives each a scratch before picking up the male. Jenny quickly rushes over to pick up the female, not wanting it to feel left out.

While the two fawn over their new Pokemon, you inspect the ball Chad had given you. You didn't notice before, but the ball wasn't a regular one. The top of the ball had a camouflage pattern on it, it appears to be a Safari Ball. Eager to see what is inside, you decide to open the ball outside, just incase whatever was in the ball decided to go on a rampage. Everyone joins you outside, eager to see what exactly was inside. You hold up the ball and release the Pokemon.

A bellow rings out and whips crack as Tauros appears on the street. The bull looks around and checks out its surroundings, unaware of where it's with and who it's with. It turns to face your group, its eyes immediately lock onto your own. It drags its front hoof against the road, cracks its whip like tails and bellows as it charges towards you. Thankfully you manage to raise the ball and recall it in time to avoid being trampled.

You received a lvl 12 Male Tauros (ability undeclared) in a Safari Ball!

"Wow that was close", laughed the bartender, "I think you're going to have to do a bit of work with that one Gary! By the way, I found this in the cellar when I went down to wake my Druddigon up, maybe you can make some use of it?" The bartender hands you a map that seemed to depict the area around Bedlam. A strange rainbow coloured mark was present in the northeast portion of the map, in the depths of the Bedlam Quarry. What exactly you would find their was unknown, but if someone took the time to map it then surely it would be worthwhile?

"We better be getting home", Grant brings Jenny in close, "I'm sure we could all use some sleep." Everyone agrees, offering their thanks once more and saying goodbye before heading in their different directions. Your Pokemon had been through a fair bit, as had you. It would likely be wise to find a Pokemon Center before heading off again.

Old friends, new friends. After a while they all look the same to me.

Marshal's Headquarters

Maskerade
: What was in essence a babysitting task as you thought it to be, nevertheless you accept the task as it were, while Vega approaches the Combusken and Drilbur, the latter still struggling on the ground. At her approach the fighting type frowns at her with a head tilt, while the mole stops flopping just long enough to make eye contact with the scary face of the Seviper, a low hiss escaping her throat as you introduce yourself to the pair.

The response is just as you wanted: Slice immediately freezes in fear and almost keels over with fright, while Tremor barks in horror and leaps a good three feet into the air before landing on their feet, fittingly in tremors as Whetstone's roughened facade cracks a slight smirk. "It'll take more than a few snarrrrrls to keep them under command, but firrrrrrst impressions matter." Beckoning the Metang, the steel pokemon zips forward before depositing a pamphlet into your hands, as you take a closer look you discover it to be a map of the streets around the headquarters, with three blocks coloured green, blue and yellow.

"This building is here on the map," he grumbles, hefty finger pointing out a large black complex with a red cross marked on it, "and your firrrrrst porrrrrt of call is the compound in grrrrrreen to the south-west. You are to make your way therrrrre with these two, and will find further instrrrrrrructions." With that said, you and the motley crew are pointed towards the door, your instructions fairly clear. Slice and Tremor plod after you, after a little persuasion from the Seviper's bladed tail at their backs.

You are now accompanied by a level 22 Male Combusken with the following added moves: Aerial Ace, Fling, Swagger, Dual Chop and Cut. You are also accompanied by a level 13 Male Drilbur with the moves Crush Claw and Rock Smash.

Outside, you consult the map and begin to make your way to the first station, venturing southwards down the road. While Polaris zips around you excited, Vega keeps an eye on the two marshal pokemon, the Combusken taking springy steps while the Drilbur seems to shuffle, his large claws holding him steady. Fifteen minutes pass without much incident when turning a corner you spot a commotion of sorts, a number of civilians crowded around something. Slice and Tremor involuntarily fail to realise you've stopped and proceed to blunder into you, the three of you ending up in a ball as your Tynamo sparks with disappointment and alarm. Separating yourself, you can only look at the pair as they remain entangled, scratching at each other haplessly. With a scene before you, and the commotion ahead, will you investigate or continue with the pair to the compound?

Crystal Grove.

Missingno. Master
: You and Meowth had the same thoughts on the sound of the screech, and the passing shadows, and the sound of something in the shaft had you on edge. With Andromeda once again utilising her psychic senses, the Starmie concentrated, while you prepared an escape plan in case of hostility with a bag of marbles as a trap. Watching the shaft's top intently, a few seconds later your concerns are answered.

"Is...is that a...?" Amanda whispers, as something fairly small and certainly familiar plummets unceremoniously to the ground with a squeak, landing on their back with a thump, holding a tablet device. It's Chespin! Andromeda confirms there is no danger, though the first shadow above was out of her scope, as Meowth hops off your shoulder to help the grass type to his feet.

"You know this pokemon?" the woman posits as you explain the Chespin, and how you and he met. At the mention of the Black Scarab, however, Amanda tenses, her fist clenching as her eyes betray her thoughts.

"Th-that thing? Back in the sanctum...there was word of an officer in the ranks with a pokemon like you said. I've never seen it...but what I hear of it is that it is merciless..."

Your conversation is interrupted by the Chespin's hand striking the ground in evident frustration, as it begins to rant a bit, Meowth giving you the gist. He had spotted the Scarab and gave chase, only to be stopped and knocked down by an attack launched by it, and was pursuing it to find out once and for all who owned it. As the feline finished explaining, the Chespin gets to his feet and turns to face you, irritation giving way to relief at the sight of you, then turning to puzzlement. After a couple of seconds, he raises his tablet and pokes and swipes at it for a few seconds, before beckoning at Amanda to step forward while looking at you.

You explain who she is, the Chespin listening as he types into the computer, and after a few moments, nods before showing you a missing persons form with Amanda's profile. The woman gasps, clearly shocked at the situation. "I-I-I thought I was forgotten ab-b-b-bout...the way the Shells spoke about my situation..."

Reading the tablet, you're hit with a thought and pull your own communications device out, discovering a signal, while you try and comprehend what you've learned about Amanda: that her landlord had became concerned after the fall of the council at her disappearance and had sent a missings persons notice to the Marshals. A squeak from Chespin and plodding later gives you the next question.

"Why are you down here, and do you have any information?"

Meowth voices his concerns that the group should keep moving, to which you agree, and as you and the group continue to follow the tunnels, there's a lot of explanation to be had between you and Chespin.

Crimson Sanctum.

Gemini Spark
: With the man lying on the bed waiting, you take the time to probe for information before anything troubling can arise.

"Rumor has it these Shells used to be a part of Team Rocket. What do you know about that?"
"The Shells and the Rockets? Yeah, the higher-ups, the ones running this band, they were part of a Rocket splinter group kicked out for being too rough for even their ilk if you can believe that crap. Most o' the grunts here though are just street thugs with a license, and the chumps in the cells here are basically slaves." He gives a cough before moving on to the second question.

"Who is this Rigel guy? Is he the 'Chief' those thugs were talking about earlier?"
He looks at you for a second, before looking a little more relaxed. "Hah, definitely not from 'round here are ye? Marquis Rigel von Argentus, heir to Goldenridge, Crimson Duke of the Ridge, and whatever other bollocks titles he has, he's one o' the two council members to make it outta the bastion before it went to shit. Says he killed most of 'em, he's the big guy in charge of the Shells, and a nasty piece of work, but he ain't the chief. No, chief's some geezer by the name of Rosenbark, would snap someone's neck for slighting him."

"Where are these 'dead grounds' they're gonna take you to anyway? I may or may not have a friend who wants to know."
"Friend, ye say?" The man pauses for a second as if in thought, but continues. "The dead grounds are basically the courtyard converted into some barbaric arena. Doomed folks and prisoners are chucked in there and the dogs of war are let loose on 'em for the entertainment o' the Shells. If ye're lucky you'll get killed quickly, but otherwise you're gonna get torn to shreds slowly. Me, I'm just hopin' that the suffering stops soon."

"What about your friend over there, the Litwick? What happens to it when they come to...well, dispose of you?"
"That guy? He's content enough 'ere. The little guys basically live down here, always did, and when I go another prisoner'll just be brought here to keep 'im fed. They don't mind much, the lantern gives them some protection from the air and they're ghosts anyways. Not much dyin' for them." The Litwick gives a little burp as Silas gives himself a shake, giving a small growl as the candle takes the opportunity to grab a quick snack of his energy, an ember's worth of energy sapped from the Houndoom as he voices his slight discomfort.

"So your fate's been decided...nothing anyone can do for you? Or your cellmate?"
At this, the man gives a sigh. "Nothin' the Litwick wants, but if ye're gonna be heading upstairs, there is a favour you can do fer a dyin' man," he pauses, before continuing. "There's a storehouse further up where they keep the possessions o' prisoners and slaves, and me ol' partner pokemon's still up there. If you can head up there and set 'em free to live their life, then that's as much as I can ask fer...they're in a dusk ball, shouldn't be too hard ta find."

"You seemed eager to tell me about some treasure, and maybe I am a thief...where might they keep the good stuff? And what even's worth keeping to these guys?"
"Aha..." the man gives a small throat laugh, "the siren song o' loot to a man is their downfall. Ye gave me a good chuckle, so lemme humour ya. Th' gems they speak of are special, ye see...some o' them power up moves, some o' them power up pokemon. The good stuff's in Rosenbark's tower though, he got some other underling running things around to th' north west, but the project allegedly got somethink ta do with them gems. The Shells see value in strength and power, so there's bound ta be more than just shiny trinkets up there...course, if ye are a thief and the Shells catch wind o' ye, then it's all but certain ye'll be seein' me in the dead grounds too for what remains o' the rest o' yer miserable life."

With all said, the man nods to the Litwick, which faces him as its flame flares up, and the man swiftly flops down unconscious. Giving a little wiggle of a waxy limb, the Litwick waves you on, before Silas alerts you to footsteps from down the hall. Looks like question time is over, and with information gleaned, getting out of these catacombs would be best, especially when you look at your hand and find that your human guise is starting to falter with your presence to the soul-sapping spectre...

Meowth voices his concerns that the group should keep moving, to which you agree, and as you and the group continue to follow the tunnels, there's a lot of explanation to be had between you and Chespin.
After having narrowly escaped two separate life-endangering situations, Keith was in no mood to get caught off-guard by a third one. He was tensed up, ready to act at a moment's notice... and then Keith exhaled in relief, for the source of the shadow was none other than Chespin. At the same time, a voice sounded in Keith's mind. You may have surmised as much at this point, but there is no danger. Keith nodded to Andromeda in response. He then nodded again, this time to Amanda, for she had asked Keith whether he knew the Chespin.

"Yeah, I met it when I first arrived here," Keith explained to Amanda. "There was kind of a misunderstanding- one of my Pokémon is a dark grey Scolipede, see, and I ride around everywhere on him, but apparently he looks very much like a Scolipede owned by this guy known as the Black Scarab-"

At which point Amanda mentioned having heard of such a Pokémon. She'd never seen it before, but knew it to have a reputation for being merciless. Before Keith could respond to this, Chespin started ranting, said rant having clearly been provoked by the subject turning to the Black Scarab. "Accordin' ta Chespin, he was chasin' da Black Scarab, but was knocked down by an attack. Been chasin' it ta try and find out who owns it."

Keith nodded to Chespin, who looked relieved at the sight of the Poison-type Trainer. "Well, we'll find the Black Scarab," he stated. "I'll help however I can with that, Chespin." However, it was at that point Chespin looked a bit puzzled. He beckoned Amanda forward while still looking at Keith, which he took as his cue to offer an explanation. "This is Amanda," Keith stated. "They were interrogating her back at the vanguard, asked me for my help with that. They suspected her of being involved with the Shells. She told me her story, and I believe she's telling the truth- she was forced to work for them, and wants nothing to do with them," he said firmly.

Chespin nodded following this, and showed his tablet in response. Keith looked, and saw a missing persons form- with Amanda's profile! Amanda was shocked by this- until this point, it was clear she'd been led to believe that she'd been forgotten about, but evidently, her landlord was concerned by her disappearance.

Chespin then made his next question known- well, two questions. One, why Keith was fown here, and two, if he had any information. Before Keith could start to answer this, however, Meowth piped up. "Uh, we oughta keep movin', guys," he stated.

Keith nodded. "Right you are, Meowth," he agreed. "We really ought to get out of here as soon as possible. Let's go. Andromeda-"

-We can consider ourselves in danger until we're actually out of the tunnels. I agree completely, the Starmie stated telepathically. I think that as long as I merely limit myself to sensing danger as opposed to battling it, I will be fine until we get out of here.

"If you're sure about that, OK, then," Keith nodded. "Lemme know if you're getting tired. Now, then," he added, turning to Chespin. "First off, I'm down here because there was a disagreement back at the vanguard about interrogation methods. It got physical, and a trapdoor was activated in Amanda's cell, while I was in there. Dropped us down into these tunnels, where we nearly became Rattata chow. Meowth and Andromeda were a big help against them, as was my Seviper. Not long after that, Amanda woke up, I got her side of the story, and we continued along. We discovered an ancient ruin of a city, which I would be glad to show you, were it not for the minor detail that it also seems to be home to a gigantic, hateful Claydol, whose body seems to be studded with Z-Crystals, allowing it to use various Z-Moves. My Seviper, by the way, got hit by one, and is gonna need some medical attention," he added, his voice betraying considerable concern for Marvolo's well-being. "Hence Meowth's hurry for us to get out of here. Right now, the Claydol being too big to fit through the tunnels back that way is why we're safe for now, but we don't know if that's gonna be a permanent fix. As for information... well, I've just told you everything I've experienced or found out since I last saw you," he shrugged.

While Chad and Jenny petted their new Pokemon, Gary held the given Pokeball in his hand and inspected it. The ball itself was an uncommon type of Pokeball known as a Safari Ball, a commemorative camouflage print ball often used in faraway regions’ Safari Zones- something Gary wished to experience someday. His curiosity was growing by the minute as he pondered what could be inside of it, and how far it had traveled to wind up here in Fizzytopia.

As he thought about the experiences and memories the Pokemon inside had experience, Gary began to wonder how it would react to its new surroundings and with Gary as its new partner. Along with the Drunken Druddigon’s patrons, Gary agreed that it might be best to release the Pokemon outside, in case it were to turn violent, so they all headed back out onto the street.

“Alright, here goes nothing,” Gary announced, holding out the Safari Ball to release what was inside. In a bright flash of light, the ball burst open, revealing a species Gary was familiar with. With a large, muscular body, three tails, a thick and dark mane, and a pair of sharp, curved horns, the wild bull Pokemon known as Tauros stamped its hoof on the ground, ready to charge. Memories surged through Gary’s mind of the old Tauros named Memphis that he used to own. They had parted ways long ago, and Gary had regretted it ever since, often hoping his old friend was doing well wherever he was.

Gary snapped out of his nostalgia as the Tauros suddenly sprang forward. He didn’t have time to calm the beast down, or at least risk serious injury in the process, so he quickly returned the Tauros to his Safari Ball. Once the danger was clear, Gary let out a deep sigh of relief. “Well, it looks like I have my work cut out for me with this one. But I’m up for the challenge,” he said with a smile, firmly deciding that he wouldn’t have a repeat parting of ways as he had with Memphis.

The bartender then handed Gary a sort of treasure map with an unusual question mark located in the northeast corner of Bedlam Ridge. He had gotten entangled in a mess with gang members before, derailing his initial mission to explore the area, so this was a welcome change of pace to get his goal back on track. Treasure hunts and exploration adventures were right up Gary’s alley so he happily accepted the map.

Seeing as it was quite late, or maybe even quite early at this point, everyone decided that it was best to go their separate ways and get some sleep. Gary thanked them all once again and bid everyone farewell, wishing them the best and hoping the gang would honor their word in leaving them alone in the future. As he contemplated his own lodging, Gary wondered if there was a Pokemon Center in this town where he could rest up and heal his Pokemon. This wasn’t exactly the nicest area, so he turned to the bartender. “Do you know if there is a Pokemon Center nearby that I can use?”

Sandaa- As everyone parts ways, you find yourself in need of directions to a Pokemon Center, where you could seek lodgings for the night. Your Pokemon could also be left with the nurses to recover, they would certainly appreciate the care. Luckily the bartender was still hanging around, you quickly ask him for the location of the nearest one and he gladly points you in the right direction.

"If you head up to the North East section of the city, the Crystal Grove, they have a nice clean Pokemon Center, with plenty of rooms for traveling trainers." The bartender bids you goodnight, leaving you to travel through the city to your new destination.

You realize you're in the Crystal Grove when the run down houses transition into well kept homes. The streets were neatly pathed, while the streets were lined with lights that kept them well illuminated. Following the signs, you soon find the Pokemon Center at the end of a street, the automatic doors slide open and the warmth of the center embraces you, pulling you inside.

You are met by the pleasing smile of a pair of nurses, who are accompanied by a Blissey. They welcome you before asking for your Pokemon, insisting that they keep them till morning before showing you to an empty room. As soon as the nurses leave you, your head hits the pillow and you're out like a light. It was well passed midnight and you had spent the day rushing through the streets and battling your way through gang members, you could probably sleep for an entire day.

It is almost noon by the time you wake up, a quick shower and a bite to eat refreshes you before you collect your Pokemon from the nurses. You now had the better half of the day to do whatever you wanted to.

"The rest of you go and make yourselves useful", the rest of the officers quickly disperse, leaving Jacob, Derek and yourself. "You did a fine job young lady, I dare say I'm impressed. Jacob was gone in an instant, clearly he needed to leave Bedlam.

Ami sighed unhappily as they were surrounded by officers and raised her hands over her head- both she and her pokemon were worn out enough as it was, and it was probably not a good idea to try to fight them off anyway. If they really did wind up being arrested with the actual riffraff, the hideous sequin vest should be enough proof to keep them safe, right?

Thankfully, the man who gave her the mission made himself known, giving her room to relax as he sent the crowd packing and Gloria off to (presumably) extensive care. She nodded under his praise- it was probably a big deal that this man in particular was impressed by her antics tonight, but at the same time... most people would be as well. It was definitely not something worth getting worked up over at this point.

Jacob, on the other hand, was less than pleased by Officer Derek's presence, and for good reason. He had been effectively left for dead when he lost on his own mission, and all the pent up frustration from that reality was finally given the chance to come out. "...I understand what you mean." she replied, taking the disk he handed her. "You're welcome, and good... luck?" That was an awfully quick escape, though it wasn't hard to tell why.

~ ~ ~

Ami took the opportunity to get rid of the sequin vest during the debriefing, glad to finally be rid of its mildly oppressive weight. Her adrenaline had faded on the way back to the station, giving way to a perpetual ache wear Madame Marsh's bracelet was- evidently, her magneton's attack had left a nasty, and likely permanent, burn where it was. At least this one could fade a little.

"Yeah, I'll probably back later if I'm still needed," she agreed, well aware that this a grave promise at this point. "I'll need a little bit of time out of town, though. That wasn't exactly a low profile job, so anyone we failed to catch would probably recognize me if they saw me within the next few weeks. Whether or not they made the connection Madame Marsh did, that's one situation I'd rather not be in. Besides..." she motioned with her freshly marked wrist. "...It'd probably be wise of me to get used to this before I do anything that could make it even worse!" She gathered up her rewards and stood up. "Don't worry, I'll be keeping my pokemon in peak condition~!" she declared as she left the room.

As she made her way out of Bedlam Ridge proper, one thought kept nagging at her mind: what happened with Madame marsh? There was no sign of her around when things calmed down, which seemed to suggest that the beast she captured had devoured her. But she hadn't really given it time to do so, so maybe she managed to get away? But that didn't make sense, either- she had been knocked clean out by her own magneton's Explosion. Had someone managed to sneak in and drag her out? And if so, what of the murderous trio of magnetic orbs? The whole scenario simply reeked of unanswered questions, and that alone was enough to make Ami a little uncomfortable.

One thing was absolutely for sure, though: if the mastermind had made it out alive, she was not going to forget about her anytime soon. Ami sighed and gripped the nest ball in her hand- that wasn't exactly a dooming thought. After all, those emotions seem to have practically handed Ami a Ground Type to counter the magneton with should they meet again. That should help even out the playing field a little!

Gary thanked the bartender once again as he was given directions to the nearest Pokemon Center and bit him farewell. Fortunately for him, his destination was on the same course as his next adventure, the Crystal Grove as well as the quarry being located in the north eastern quadrant of the city. It was a little unsettling travelling through a dilapidated area such as Shanty Heights at this time of the day, but after everything he had just gone through, nothing really seemed that unsettling anymore.

Eventually the buildings around him transformed from run down and vacant lots on the verge of collapse into much nicer and neatly kept edifices, with much less litter lining the streets. As working street lights guided his path, Gary soon enough came upon the aforementioned Pokemon Center. Once inside, he was greeted by kind nurses who took his Pokemon in for treatment and showed him to a room where he could catch up on sleep.

And sleep he did. While usually a light sleeper, once Gary had tucked himself into bed he was out like a light, completely worn out from the day’s events. Believe it or not, having guns pointed at one’s head took quite the toll on the mind, and his battle against the Ribs’ admin was probably one of the least stressful moments of the day.

Rising from his bed at the crack of noon, Gary quickly got dressed and showered before retrieving his Pokemon from the nurses’ care, thanking them after doing so. He then switched out some of his Pokemon in the PC and looked to get something to eat. While he sat down at the cafeteria and got a late breakfast, Gary contemplated over what he should do from here. The map he had received pointed him in the direction of the Bedlam Quarry, and before he embarked on his journey he figured it would be best to look around the area and stock up on supplies and information. With that in mind, he set out around the Crystal Grove, looking to accomplish just that.

Sandaa- Heading out of the Pokemon Center, you make your way around the streets of the Crystal Grove in search of some supplies and perhaps even some information. You knew the general area of your quest but there was a chance that a knowledgeable local might know more about your destination. You noticed a cluster of activity as you enter a large market square. Children run around and play, some accompanied by Pokemon, others by their parents. Small stalls are spread out around the square, selling different types of wares and delights.

"What've you got there lad?" A robust old hiker running a nearby stall beckons you over, having spotted the map still clutched in your hand. Eager to gather some information, you present the map to the older gentleman who instantly recognises it. "Ahh so you fancy yourself as a trainer do you lad? I would hope so if you're planning on challenging the gauntlet." The hiker can tell by your blank response that you have no idea what he is on about. "On the far side of the quarry is a large mountain with a paved trail that leads all the way up to the summit. An old hermit is said to live at the top, a master of Mega Evolution from what I have heard. They say if you reach the top, he will pass his knowledge onto you. Many have tried to reach him, most of failed. The few that have passed now reside along the trail, battling anyone who attempts to make the pilgrimage." The hiker gives you a moment to think before providing you with an opportunity to inspect his wares. "You'll be needing supplies if you plan on challenging the gauntlet, A packet of 3 Hyper Potions will set you back $300, two Revives will cost you the same. I even have this dusty old technical machine, TM Dig that I would part ways with for $800."

Au revoir Officer Whetstone,” said Luc while he bowed in respect. He now had his orders, which was in itself a strange feeling – the last time he’d been ordered to do anything, it had been by his mother, and minutes afterwards, Luc had left home.

Ordering a child to get over the death of his father and move on is not the kind of orders I am willing to stomach.

It had been ten years since he’d last seen his mother, Madeleine Chevalier, but he heard she’d been very successful in her own endeavours, becoming a star Trainer in the region of Lusia. But for all her victories, and unlike Luc… she wasn’t a Champion yet.

No matter, I came to Bedlam to start anew – I’ve had my fame and glory, my time in the spotlight. I came here to serve, therefore I should have no problems with obeying. If I am to be these two’s wet-nurse, so be it.

Pamphlet in hand, Luc left Marshall HQ with Vega, Polaris and the two bumbling fools in tow. And if the Seviper’s “persuasion” seemed to work wonders for the first quarter of hour, the group moved no longer than that without the first incident – before he knew it, Luc was rolling along the floor, entangled in a mass of bird and mole, and even after he rose to his feet and dusted off his precious clothes as best he could, Slice and Tremor were still slugging it out like two shopaholics on Black Friday.

Sacré bleu…

Vega, with her short temper, was already hissing, ready to devour one of the two idiots – preferably the fire chicken, which already came pre-roasted. But Luc couldn’t allow that, for a number of reasons, although he had to admit it could be the fastest short-term solution to the problem.

“Calm down ma chčrie, they simply need to be reminded of the pecking order,” Luc hinted with a smile. “Kindly Wrap them in a… tender embrace, and if need be throw them a fitting Glare to end the quarrel.”

Despite not what she had in mind, Vega nodded in understanding and proceeded to carry out her instructions with gusto.

“Polaris, if you’d be so kind,” continued Luc, “hover over to that crowd and take a peek from above. Let me know if anyone’s in need of help.”

He’d already decided to check out the commotion ahead, since Officer Whetstone hadn’t given them a time limit to reach the next outpost – but if there were no signs of danger, there was no need to come rushing to the scene like a desperate man... After all, appearances were important.

After collecting his fresh team of Pokemon, Gary headed out onto the main street of the Crystal Grove in search of clues and supplies to stock up for his journey ahead. As he walked down the street, he spotted a large market square that was teeming with people; an ideal place to accomplish both of his goals. Walking around to browse at all of the goods being sold by various vendors, Gary was called over by a rugged old man who looked like he had spent quite a lot of time on the mountains.

Gary approached the old hiker’s stall as he easily identified Gary’s map. Properly identifying Gary as an ambitious Pokemon trainer, the man mentioned a “gauntlet” atop the summit of the quarry, and asked if Gary planned on challenging it. As Gary listened to the details about an old hermit being referred to as a master of Mega Evolution, Gary’s interest was immediately piqued. He had never experienced a Mega Evolution in person before, and this gauntlet could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn more about it. “Wow, really? Tell me more!” he quickly answered.

In order to embark on such a challenge, Gary was certainly going to need to stock up on supplies for a tough road ahead. Fortunately, or perhaps the better choice of words ‘conveniently’, the man had a few wares to sell to Gary. There were some Hyper Potions, Revives, and even a TM for the move Dig. Gary momentarily checked his inventory in his bag and thought it over. He was already stocked up on plenty of Revives, so he didn’t need those. As for the TM, the price was a little steep for the shrewd businessman in him, and many of his Pokemon already knew the move so it wasn’t of the upmost importance. “I think I’ll go with those three Hyper Potions for $300, please!”

Sandaa- The news that the phenomenon known as Mega Evolution awaited for you at the end of your path stirred your passion. You had yet to witness it in person, despite it becoming quite a bit more common in recent years. However a mountain strewn with trainers capable of Mega Evolving their Pokemon would be quite a task, you would need some extra supplies. You had $300 over to the Hiker, who gladly gives you the three Hyper Potions in exchange. "I tried to scale the mountain once before, however I'll admit I failed to get past the first trainer. Since his is the only one I know about, I'll let you know that he used a Mega Heracross. The thing isn't fast or agile, but it has got one heck of an aim and packs a powerful punch. Not to mention that armour is pretty tough, making it rather hard to wear down." Putting the potions in your bag, you bid the helpful Hiker farewell before heading north through the city.

You check the map a few times to make sure you're on the right course, but it isn't until the city gives way to mountainside that you know you're on the right path. Eventually the path splits into two, one heading down into the quarry. The other option was to continue up hill, however this path seemed barely worn. Small shrubs made it difficult to get through the first hundred metres or so, but then the path cleared again, revealing a polished stone path. As you followed the winding path around the mountain, you begin to wonder how long it would be before you would encounter the first trainer.

You were soon answered as you rounded the next bend. The polished stones spread out, creating a narrow but long floor. Busy scrubbing the stones is a young man, no older than 16, his bare chest was slender yet toned. Scrubbing alongside him is a large blue beetle, with some sort of harness strapped around its chest. Upon hearing approaching footsteps, the pair spin around to greet you.

"Oh hello there", chimes the boy happily, "it's been awhile since we've had a challenger. You are a challenger right? You don't look like a lost traveller. My name is Harry, Hercules and myself would be more than happy to battle you, that is the only way you'll be going any further." On closer you notice a bracelet attached to the boys wrist, holding some sort of stone. Likewise, the middle of the Heracross's harness holds a stone, however it appears to be different. "Have you ever seen Mega Evolution before? If you make it all the way to the top you might get one of your own but until then, how about I show you?"

The boy whips his wrist up in front of him as both his stone and the Heracross's begin to shine. Tendrils of energy erupt from both stones and intertwine as the Heracross is enveloped in a rainbow of light. The Heracross's horn lengthens and thickens, as its arms suddenly become bulbous. Its wings harden over as another smaller horn protrudes from its face. As the light fades, the Pokemon standing before you looks rather different, an aura of strength seems to flow from it as well. "As you can see, Mega Heracross looks quite different to a regular Heracross, needless to say it is a lot stronger as well. So, do you think you could take on Hercules and myself or do you just want to head back down now?

So, do you think you could take on Hercules and myself or do you just want to head back down now?
Gary smiled and thanked the hiker for the information as he placed the three Hyper Potions in his bag. As he made his way through the streets of Crystal Grove, his thoughts went back to the conversation he had with the hiker. He had mentioned that the first opponent of the gauntlet featured a Mega Heracross. Being a native resident of Azalea Town in the Johto region and cousin of the Bug type gym leader Bugsy, he was familiar with the Pokemon Heracross. When they were children, Bugsy and he would often venture into Ilex Forest in search of the beetles every summer. Heracross were powerful fighters on top of being bugs, and they had a diverse movepool at their disposal.

Knowing that this challenge would be no walk in the park, Gary made a quick diversion back to the Pokemon Center where he re-adjusted his team at the PC. “Just like old times,” he spoke softly to his clip of six Pokeballs, having grabbed the oldest, strongest, and most experienced Pokemon at his disposal. It had been quite some time since the last time Gary went all-out in battle with his Pokemon, but with the more information he gathered about his trial ahead, the more he recognized that playtime was over.

As he embarked on his trek up the mountainside, Gary passed by the entrance to the quarry and proceeded further up the unbeaten trail. After a while of hiking, he came upon a stone clearing where a young boy was busy cleaning the battlefield alongside his Heracross. The boy introduced himself as Harry and his Heracross named Hercules and asked Gary if he came here to battle. Gary smiled and nodded as he introduced himself, impressed that this teenage boy had gained credentials as a master of Mega Evolution at such a young age. There was no backing down now at this point, and Gary had no intentions of doing so either.

Gary watched in amazement as the Heracross glowed brightly and morphed right before his eyes, becoming much more powerful and bulky with only a slight sacrifice to its mobility. “So that’s a Mega Heracross, huh?” he mused, transfixed on the beetle. “Alright then, how about I use a bug of my own? Let’s do this, Shuri!” Gary tossed a Fast Ball, revealing his Ninjask in a bright flash. Shuri’s wings buzzed rapidly as she hovered back and forth very quickly. Shuri was the first Pokemon Gary obtained after his starter Typhu, so it was only fitting that Shuri start off this challenge. He also knew that her speed and flying typing would be the key to her victory. “Okay Shuri, let’s do this!” Gary called out, quickly thinking up a strategy. “Try to not let it touch you! Kick up a Sand Attack and while it’s disoriented use Double Team! Finish things off with a Swords Dance!” As he looked to keep Shuri untouched by the slower Heracross, Gary prayed his Ninjask’s Speed Boost would play a large factor in his plans.

Sandaa- Although the Mega Heracross was impressive, you were almost certain that you had a strategy capable of outplaying the giant beetle. You place your trust in one of your oldest and dearest friends, Shuri the Ninjask. The Bug was the second Pokemon to join your team, however it had been quite a while since you last had the opportunity to put her into battle. The Ninjask darts around rapidly, making it hard to see apart from when it stops.

"Right Gary, let's fight!" Harry cries out and Hercules slams his arms into the ground, calling Shuri to come at him with all she had. However the Ninjask had other plans, zipping along the ground she kicks sand in the direction of the Mega Evolved Bug. The Heracross hisses as its eyes are stung by the fine silicate particles, reducing his vision and making the task of targeting the faster moving insect even harder. "Bulk Up Hercules, then burst their Double Team with Rock Blast before sticking a timer on them with Toxic!"

The Heracross flexes, its body swells even more, increasing its attack and defense, making it all the more difficult to combat. Shuri's speed boosts as she darts around rapidly, creating a plethora of after images that surround the Fighting type. Hercules doesn't waver, instead he begins to fire rocks out rapidly, creating a seemingly endless chain of them as he destroys the constructs, one after the other. Eventually only one Ninjask remains as Shuri dances around, quickly increasing her attack. This made her as deadly as she was fast, which would surely help her in her plight against the Mega Heracross. Suddenly however, the Heracross fires a volley of toxic liquid. Thankfully her speed and the Heracross's reduce accuracy allows her to avoid a direct hit, but the attack hits her nonetheless. Shuri can feel the toxins slowly sinking into her bloodstream, they would take their toll on her and make things difficult if the fight was drawn out.

"Excellent work Hercules", Harry seems quite happy with how things were transpiring. "Now make things worse for them with a Venoshock, then knock them from the skies with a Smack Down!We have dealt with more than one flying type before, you won't catch us by surprise!"

Merry Krampus, ya wussies! Here's some coal fer yer troubles!

Marshal's Headquarters

Maskerade
: With both of the Marshal pokemon in a state of bickering and a larger commotion ahead, you take point with dividing your two loyal companions to bring the pair under control and to investigate the crowd ahead. As Polaris takes to the skies, easily levitating to a height of a couple of metres above the crowd, Vega takes your commands to point and the large Seviper lunges forth, whipping her bladed tail around the bird and mole and catching them in a tight grip, wrapping around them while giving them a predatory glare. Slice and Tremor, caught off guard, quickly stop trying to beat each other up and start struggling within her coils, to the serpent's pleasure before they give up and sag down in defeat.

With the two subdued, they look towards you before pointing at each other, trying to implicate the other for blame, but their protests are met with Vega's crimson tail pointed at their throats, and fearing for their lives immediately understand and lower their claws. It is at this point that Polaris nudges you with a report, the Tynamo's buzzing unfortunately not to your understanding. However, as the crowd begins to disperse, it becomes clear as day what the flash mob was surrounding.

A young man lies on the ground, face pale as snow and dull eyes staring up at the clouded sky, breathing slowly. As the electric eel wiggles around, you approach the figure for a closer look. His clothes are a little roughened, and of particular note is the empty bag lying by him, as it appears the man has been an unfortunate victim of a mugging. Taking the sight to point, Vega hisses at Slice and Tremor before relinquishing her hold on them and nudging the pair forward, urging them to grab the man and to bring him along. As the pair close in, the man's eyes drift to the side and spot you, and as your eyes meet, dry lips move, forming barely audible words.

"What...where...who...can't...remember...purple... "

The Combusken reaches him first as he closes his eyes, consciousness leaving him and leaving you with more questions than answers, clearly. As Slice looks at you, Tremor barks before clumsily lifting the man's legs, prompting the chicken to take him by the arms, and the pair gawk at you as though expecting further instructions. What's the plan?

Crystal Grove.

Missingno. Master
: After the unexpected but fortunate reunion with Chespin, as well as some key revelations regarding Amanda, you take a couple of moments to discuss the happenings between you and the Vanguard, as well as how you ended up down here, all while the grass pokemon listens intently, poking at the tablet. At the mention of the trapdoor and the physical methods of interrogation, it growls and shakes its head, Meowth on hand to translate that they always knew there was a bit of bad blood in the group and their methods. Regarding the Rattata incident, the Chespin lets out a small chuckle, noting that swarms of Rattata were a common problem in the early days following the fall of the council, but it is the underground city comment that causes the starter to pause in their steps.

"Huh?" the woman turns, wondering why the group stopped, and as Chespin looks at the tablet, shifting hand ferociously as though in search, it stops before showing you an image of the very same undercity, with some interesting information. Apparently in the old days before Goldenridge City was built, numerous travellers would venture there to match wits with an ancient and venerable pokemon who resided within, and those successful would be rewarded with rare and valuable trinkets, and as the Spiky Nut pokemon muses, Amanda voices the very notion you had.

"Y...you don't think that Claydol's the ancient pokemon? I mean...they are old pokemon, b-b-but why would it act like that...?"

Chespin's brow furrows at the possibility, and they make a note of it in the tablet before continuing, showing genuine concern at the news that Marvolo is in need of professional care, and as you finish, it nods its thanks as your group comes across a split in the path, and Chespin's eyes light up as you follow its gaze to the roof, and some familiar bulbs. Amanda hesitates, but through tablet Chespin reassures her that this time she'll be treated fairly, throwing in that they'd bloody some noses if the need came to be. As you approach, you feel a chill on your shoulder, and turning head find that Meowth's gone pale, and is trembling nervously.

"What's wrong?" Amanda asks, and as Meowth responds, you feel a shiver go down your spine.

"I smell blood."

Taking a sniff instinctively, you detect a slight metallic odour, and as Chespin takes charge, they rush ahead of you, as you call out to them. Pursuing, you turn a few corners, finding yourself in familiar corridors, before spotting the grass type standing outside the entrance to the Vanguard base, tablet on the floor as they stand there, mortified. With Amanda behind you, you approach and peer into the doorway, to find what is without a doubt Bryan, the man from before who had got physical...or a sizable chunk of him, at least.

The stench of death hits you like a wave as the grim sight lies before you: something's happened, and the Vanguard, from what you can see, have been massacred, violently torn apart. Dare you investigate this bloodbath for clues on what happened, and how will you deal with the situation?
