Why is Grossweiner negative? Isn't gross = great, so it basically means "Huge Wang"?
Not fun if you're a woman, but pretty funny if you're a man.

It's funny because I was looking at this thread and remembered that my father's surname was "Mango" and spent a good half minute in shock that I was this close to being a fruit.
It probably has some other origin but my God.

> Uh, I know someone with "Loveless" as a last name.
A religion professor (the Department head in fact) at my university was named "Godless". |

Some of these names seriously sound like they belong to porn stars.
Dank. On this topic, the use of username handles as an identifying feature is becoming almost if not more popular than using birthnames, at least for some groups. Anyone think this will only continue to grow and could someday overtake birthnames in some regard, allowing people to essentially easily choose a name that matches their persona? Although.. not sure what Mango says about you as a person... |

Gather around kiddies, it's story time.
My freshman year history teacher, when having (I believe) his son, asked one of his classes for name suggestions. This was a few years before my time. One of the kids in the class knew Korean, so some other kid translates his into Korean for him to read. The teacher asks him what it says. The Korean kid just looks up with this huge grin, and reports-"It says 'Electric Panda.'" The slip of paper is pinned to the top left corner of the chalkboard, forever memorialized.

Oh my gosh yes that would be great
But thankfully that'll never happen.... Anyways.... I think Seraphina is a nice name. Nickname possibilities are endless.

(One of the protagonists of 5 is named Seraphina) I also have a Loudred named that in my latest documented Nuzlocke-it's linked in my signature in SPPf if you wanna check it out.

Ok which of these is your fave:
Everleigh Charisma Lucy or... Annaika ...so, not exactly sure how that last one is pronounced, but I really like how it looks. Also not sure if Lucy fits in with the rest... who knows.

If we want to talk about bad names, it was tradition in my family that the first born male of a generation was to be called Farquhar. My mother refused to call my brother that name, but I have a second cousin who was unfortunate enough to get it.

I'm gonna give you a life pro-tip I wish I had taken to heart at your age: Following up your thoughts with self-directed negativity sucks. The more you say things like "I'm lame" and "I'm dumb" or "That's stupid" etc, the more you will believe it. Your thoughts and feelings are your own. Don't let anyone tell you how you should think and feel or belittle your views.
Only saying this because I used to do the same exact thing, sometimes I admittedly still do when I'm lacking self-confidence, and I notice you follow up the end of a lot of your posts and thoughts with a self-deprecating comment. No one here is judging you. Just be yourself and say whatever you want to. |

>Weird last names
Woo! I'm lucky to have a weird last name, obviously not gonna say what it is but it is weird nonetheless. (Note: My meaning of weird may not be the same as yours.) Also, Aussie motorsport did have the famous Dick Johnson.

>weird last names
Mine is, translated, "the young" (or "the dude" I guess) but if I got my mom's last name it would literally translate into either "hard corn" or "heart colonel", depending on how you choose to translate Swedish to Dutch and then to English. ... I knew someone called Sheik Mei Hassah so i mean thats unfortunate Last edited by dirkac; 04-06-2016 at 01:30 AM. |
