Just like Airmid is different from most other shroomish. Although there are some traits that some of the ghosts in Kalos share. Pumpkaboo like this little one here are known to be a bit of pranksters. Harmless pranksters, but pranksters nonetheless. All in all, they are probably the friendliest of the ghost types in Kalos overall. Not that the others aren't friendly, its just that some of them have darker reputations as a whole compared to Pumpkaboo. One of the ghost types in Kalos is called a Honedge. It is basically a possessed sword and many of them have aggressive personalities. Phantumps are tree stumps that have been possessed by the spirits of children. They can be rather unpredictable. Sometimes playful other times cruel. I guess in the end it is just a matter of what kind of personality the pokemon has. This little one seems to be pretty nice despite its initial attempt to spook us." Wyatt scratched the back of his head and stared at the ground for a minute, "I don't know if that will help, but if it does great!"

The pumpkaboo next to you looked up at you with big eyes and a wide smile upon having you touch it. Obviously it had begun to taking a liking to you.

---------------------

Airmid on the other hand was having quite a different experience. With something shooting at her, she continued to dodge the rude sniper. Knowing that her best way to stop this, she brilliantly came up with the perfect distraction. Her body tensed as a clone suddenly materialized next to her. Both Airmid and her substitute began to move off in opposite directions and once the sniper had decided to target the clone, Airmid found her opportunity to get close. A shot of water fired from a grassy knoll taking out the substitute. The sniper soon leaped into the air triumphantly after the direct hit screaming a joyful "Cheeee...!!!" Its blue body and the vocal giveaway of its location was all Airmid needed. Deftly moving in Airmid closed the gap between herself and the small blue crustacean only to find the tiny water type realize that it had been duped. It quickly turned to see Airmid releasing a pale tan mist into the air. The small crustacean raised the larger of its two claws toward Airmid and fired a blast of water knocking Airmid back to roll across the grass. The small shroomish shook off the point blank attack and looked back to her attacker who seemed a bit wobbly in its feet as it tried to take aim once more at her only to collapse into a deep slumber. It seemed that Airmid managed to take out her assailant, but after the substitute and the blast of water she took, she was feeling a bit fatigued herself. Still, the coast now seemed clear for her to continue her quest for materials. It seemed that way except for the feeling that something might be watching her from somewhere unknown that was.

What will you do?

Schala listened as Wyatt gave her a brief overview of Kalos ghosts. She didn't know much about the Pokemon found in Kalos, so even if only a little bit of the information was relevant to what was going on right then, it was still interesting.

It was reassuring to hear that Pumpkaboo were considered the friendliest, and most harmless, of the Kalos Ghost types. At least according to Wyatt. She found the other ghosts he mentioned rather horrifying. What kind of damage could a possessed sword do? And tree stumps possessed by the spirits of dead children? Even if that particular Pokemon was friendly, that fact was still unsettling. She might have just run the other way if she had encountered either of those Pokemon in the Safari.

Glad that she had run into this particular Ghost type instead of the other options, she responded to Wyatt with a smile. "That did help. Anything I didn't know would be helpful, and I didn't know any of that. I'm glad to hear that these guys are generally pretty harmless. It's reassuring, even if this one has been fairly nice so far."

Airmid wasn't back yet, she noticed, so she asked another question to keep the conversation going, and to hopefully get some more information about Kalos Pokemon.

"So you're a Water type specialist? Do you have a lot of different Water types in Kalos?"

A glance at the pumpkin she had been absentmindedly petting revealed that it was smiling, so she smiled back. The atmosphere seemed to be rather relaxed right now, and she was surprised to realize she was enjoying herself.

-----------
Airmid's plan worked out as she had hoped. While the rude sniper aimed at the double she had created with Substitute, she was able to get closer. It definitely helped when her opponent jumped up and cried out in joy after a direct hit, and it didn't take long before she was within range. The Water type did get one more hit off, but was soon asleep after inhaling the spores.

The Shroomish took a moment to catch her breath once she managed to right herself from her tumble. Substitute always did take a bit out of her. She eyed her snoozing opponent for a moment, and then the scattered flowers. She was in a bit of a hurry, and the other Pokemon wasn't very nice, but still...

Coming to a decision, she grabbed a few of the less squished flowers--blue, to match--and wove the stems together, tying them into a short string, before tying the ends together around the crustacean's larger claw. The flowers had seen better days, and they were all a bit wet, but the other was a Water type, so it probably wouldn't mind, right? It was a simplistic design compared to what she usually made, but she had to get going, while the newly adorned Pokemon was still asleep. Besides, she had to collect more materials and return to her trainer and friends!

Satisfied, she wandered off to look for more flowers. She didn't want to keep everyone waiting, after all!

Not that it could go after snow again now that you had put her away in her pokeball, but things had been a bit unpredictable so far. No need to take chances.

After shaking off her tiredness, Sam immediately gets into the part of performer. Even with such a small audience the charmander holds nothing back as the display of talent works exactly the way you had ordered it to. The Amaura watched without blinking at the magical way Sam was able to combine her attacks to create something beautiful. Once Sam finished the Amaura bounded about a few steps in glee and then ran over to where Sam was and nudged the flame lizard out of the way a bit as it bowed its head to do its own display.

Hiding its head low and away from you, a low growl begins to fill the air. Soon the amaura's head lifts and whips around the dinosaur as a powdery snow shoots from its mouth filling the air with gently falling snowflakes. The rainbow fins on the blue dinosaur soon begin to glow as the colors on them intensify before shifting into a yellow hue that soon disperses in all directions in a light wave of thunder that illuminates the snow even more. Unfortunately, given the fact that you are all in the snow, the electricity hits you all as well and you can feel your muscles begin to tighten to the point where it was difficult to move them. It was at this point that you could tell you and everyone around you were paralyzed. Luckily the Amaura didn't look like it was threatening. Rather it seemed to be enjoying the spectacle it had made and seemed to be ready to do it again given its posture.

What will you do?
As Liza stood to the side watching her Charmander give it everything she had into her performance, the trainer smiled nervously, crossing her fingers secretly hoping that all her Charmander needed to get through that last hurdle to achieve her goal was a little push…

Surrounded by the flames, Sam ended the appeal by jumping out of the ‘egg’ she had made for herself, and striking a cool pose, with her right claw seemingly reaching for the sky and eyes looking to the stars, her left claw at her side…the applause she received from her trainer and happy looks of her audience gave the little red lizard a rush of emotion and energy, before she knew it, Sam was evolving.

A bright white light obscuring her body, causing her to grow taller, making her claws sharper, her tail longer and fire burn bigger and brighter than ever before…

Mama, is Sam... the Litwick began to say to her trainer when Liza interrupted half way through having gotten the feeling what her ghost was about to ask, “Yes darling...this is what they call evolution, I've only read about it but this, this is the first time experiencing it myself.” She said in wonder.

The process only took a second and before the light had faded, standing where the once orange Charmander was now a more mature looking crimson red , who was checking out her new form with sharpened eyes.

Astonished by the turn of events Liza and her Litwick, Lucy were amazed by the sudden change, the trainer could hardly recognize her Pokemon and yet somehow could still see the Charmader she had grown up with shine through. As for her starter, the overflow of emotion of finally having been able to evolve seemed to be more then the Pokémon could handle, tears streaming down her face she was so happy. She was finally one step closer to reaching her goal and she had her trainer to thank for that, “Charmeleon!” the Pokémon roared proudly before turning around and beginning to walk toward her trainer when suddenly she was knocked off the ‘stage’ and onto the floor, receiving a face full of snow all due to the blue dino that had been watching them wanting to perform as well.

Sam wiped away the snow and was ready to retaliate in a vicious way that would make the Amaura wish she was still extinct when the Charmeleon felt a warm and soft reassuring hand grab her by the shoulder, “Don’t take it the wrong way” Liza said “She only wants to perform because she loved your performance so much, take the compliment.”

“Char…” Sam said in an ‘I guess’ sort of way.

“By the way...congrats on evolving, partner.” The trainer said with a gentle smile.

“Char!”

Giving Amaura their full attention, they all stood on pins and needles, anxiously waiting to see what Amaura was going to do…the blue dino bowed first before beginning its act, opening its mouth and casting a cold chill of powdery white snow into the air, causing snowflakes to fall gently from above before combining the move with a bit of a thunder wave, making the electricity zip in the air this way and that, it was clever and beautiful for its first time performing in front of an audience, and without any direction from anyone else it was rather impressive. She was a natural, a Pokemon like Amaura could be a star! If only she was a little more obedient...hehe.

Liza was ready to clap and show her appreciation to the ice type but there was one little problem. She couldn’t move. Her muscle seemed to have tightened up causing a sign she had only read about in medical journeys she used to study back in school…the symptom? Paralysis. But when did it happen? That’s when Liza remembered during Amaura’s performance, she had felt a sharp jolt strike her in the back for an instant, Omg she paralyzed me! She’s more trouble then I originally thought! she said to herself. If now wasn’t the time to panic…but Liza couldn’t let on what had happened to her or the rest of her Pokémon, if she did Amaura would probably never want to perform again. Liza had to endure it, and fight the paralysis for just a few minutes so she could say…, “Fan-tast-ic! Y-ou're a na-tural, I-I'm sususu-re if y-ou come w-ith ussss w-e cou-ld sssshow t-the world you're amaz-ing taa-lent. Tin-Think you can come up www-ith aaa-nother?” she struggled to say encouraging the Amaura to make a different appeal, Chantelle probably thought she was crazy but the trainer was hoping maybe during the time it took for her to do it she could move again. Of course paralysis tended to not be a full on condition, if she could move now there was a chance she could later, but there was a risk of never being able to for quite some time. Though she used to be a nurse in training, she had nothing to help her here but then a thought soon acquired to her, all she needed was to ask her Litwick to use Psychic to help her move, Lucy, quickly before we get permantly trapped like this and our heart rates slow down so much that we die out here in the cold, get the Dragonball on my belt and release Apy!

If Lucy could do that, Liza could order her Pokemon Mareep to use Heal Bell and this paralysis wouldn't be a problem any longer.

Chad watched as the Tyrunt spied what it hoped was its next meal laying in the sling that Chad was holding. He and Taran backed away from the Royal Heir Pokémon slowly, but they made sure to stay near the water. That way, there would always be a chance to release Clauncher to the pond. “I will not let you have this Clauncher!” he reminded it.

Taran was certainly trying his best with his Thunder Wave to keep Tyrunt from moving. Unfortunately, its hunger was a bit more powerful; and Tyrunt was trying to break the paralysis. “This is going to be harder than I thought,” Chad sighed. “I hope that Pumpka-what-not isn’t giving them any trouble.”

----------------------

Over by the hole where Ledyba and Wyatt ventured off to, Wyatt was able to get out of the hole. Luckily for him, the hole wasn’t very deep; so he didn’t need the String Shot rope Ledyba made. He was still given a pat on the head for his efforts, however. Before they could even look for the Pumpkaboo, the pair spotted what looked like fireworks overhead. "Whoa! I wonder what that was all about?" Wyatt wondered.

There must have been something familiar about the fireworks, as Ledyba immediately flew off towards their source. Wyatt soon followed this time, "Hey! Wait for me!"

----------------------

Try as he might, Taran’s Thunder Wave just wasn’t strong enough to keep Tyrunt at bay. The rampaging Pokémon was inching closer to Chad. “You’re doing a great job Taran, but I think we should abandon Thunder Wave for now. Try stopping it with a Screech. If that doesn’t work, trip it up with String Shot.” There was an attack he had heard of in passing that would probably help trap the Tyrunt. The only problem with this move is, Chad was sure a Joltik was not able to learn it.

Chad quickly put that attack out of his mind, since thinking about it wouldn’t help the situation get any better. His focus turned to Ledyba. He thought hard to himself that if Ledyba did see the Energy Ball Taran just fired towards him, that Ledyba would know he was needed. And if Ledyba knew he was needed, Chad hoped that Ledyba would know to enter the battle with a speedy Mach Punch.

Rakurai: You decide to continue using the diplomatic route with the disrespectful Amaura rather than the more aggressive one you were sure Flandre would have preferred. You figure maybe there was something wrong and that maybe you could figure out just what might be bothering the blue dino. You explain your plan to Tia and Flandre before taking the initiative to once more talk to the Amaura. This time the dinosaur looks at you exhausted and a little bored although you do notice a slight twinge of interest from it when you mention comfier places to take naps. Still it doesn't quite seem enough to get it to change its demeanor much. Fortunately, you were just the opening act of this sales pitch.

Tia soon stepped up and began speaking in the language that only other pokemon could understand. The Amaura listened and even said something back in a slow tired voice, but soon stood up and walked a few feet away from Tia before she was done speaking. Tia stared at the dino unsure whether or not to follow. If it had been Flandre that had been so rude, the gible would have surely given her a chomp, but for now Tia remained on good behavior given her understanding that you wanted to play nice for now. Or at least for as long as you could given Flandre was up next.

The Charmander marched over to the Amaura who was once again lying down and starting speaking softly turning on the Charm as she did so. At first the Amaura sounded like it was protesting, but soon backed off to a gentler tone which was of great relief to Tia who knew how quickly this could all go off the rails with Flandre right there. Oddly enough Flandre and the Amaura seemed to be caught up in conversation for far longer than the dinosaur had been with you or Tia.

"I wonder what they could be talking about," Chantelle commented quietly to anyone within earshot as she watched the exchange.

After a few minutes of back and forth the Amaura laid its head down on the sand and once more closed its eyes. Flandre looked over to you and shrugged her shoulders as if wondering what to do next.

What will you do?
Katsura had begun to feel a little hopeful after seeing Flandre manage to keep a conversation going with the Amaura for more then a few seconds, but ultimately found himself breathing a sigh of disappointment when it simply ended up trying to go back to sleep. Had he been able to understand just what it was the two had going on about, he might've had a better idea of how to approach things further, but was now feeling a little lost.

He had to have that Pokemon, but despite its continued disinterest, still couldn't bring himself to take it by force, mostly because it hadn't shown any hostility towards them. He began to mull over his options, crossing his arms and closing his eyes, while Tia and Flandre stared at him expectantly.

He considered simply letting it have its rest, and seeing if maybe it would be more receptive of them afterward, but there was no telling how long that would take, and it was unlikely that they could wait all day. That thought gave him an idea, though. "Perhaps if it understands the position we're in along with its own, it'll put more thought into coming with us..."

He stood up and moved over to the Amaura before sitting right at its side and again beginning to speak. He didn't know just how much it would actually understand, but from his own Pokemon he knew they were more then capable of sensing the feelings in human words, so he tried his best to pour his heart out to it:

"You know why they brought you over here from Kalos, right? It's because they wanted you become friends with a Pokemon trainer. I want to be that trainer. That's why came such a long way to this place; so I could meet an interesting Pokemon like you. You're also the only option I have left at this point, and I don't want to have to leave empty-handed..."

He then gently placed a hand on its back before he continued speaking:

"If there's something that's troubling you, I know can help you. If you miss your home, I could take you there again. If you feel sick, I can find something to make you better. That's part of a Pokemon trainer's duty; making sure that their Pokemon are happy and satisfied with their lives. I promise that if you come with us, you won't regret it for even a moment."

Flandre and Tia nodded their heads in agreement with what he had said, and offered their own words to it, as well, to which Katsura chuckled and gave a smile. If this didn't convince it, he didn't think anything would...

Jean's Friend Safari - Please reply in silver

EpicSquirtle: "I wouldn't say I favour any particular type of Pokémon, though I sure do enjoy a challenge," Jean replies with a grin, watching Error and Carbink buzz about happily. "I was born and bred in Kalos, the son of a Gym Leader and Pokémon Ranger, and grew up surrounded by strong, clever, well-trained Pokémon. Thanks to my parents I've been lucky enough to work and train with some amazing and powerful Pokémon so am confident in my abilities to train any Pokémon I meet. It is not the type of Pokémon that attracts me though, or even the rarity, so much as the personality of the Pokémon. Some Pokémon present as untrainable for any number of reasons and it is these that fuel my passionate desire to train. If Electric types awaken in you that same passion then I wish you all the best in your endeavour to become a true Electric Pokémon Specialist." Just then the Pokémon return, both looking tired but far too excited to rest when you hear Carbink's tummy rumble. It blushes shyly but smiles, rubbing its little belly. "It seems Carbink is a little hungry," Jean chuckles, rummaging through his pack for some food...

Treepandaone: Deciding that Noibat is the Pokémon you'd like to befriend, you think you'd quite like to try taking a different approach with this Pokémon. Rather than the typical battle Pokémon, capture Pokémon, force Pokémon to like you scenario, you feel it will be a nice change to win one over by making a great impression. Sure this approach is more risky but if it works it will be well worth your while, and this is a friend safari after all. What better time to charm a Pokémon than now? Cradily is perfectly willing to go along with your plan but a little confused as to how an unmoving wall is going to allow an energy beam to "bounce around like a game of Tetris". Perhaps Safeguard can create a dome of energy, even Reflect can create a dome or cube shaped area in which to trap the attack and bounce it around. Tetris involves falling, rotating, blocks of varying shapes and sizes so what can she do to make the move more 'bouncy'? Cradily thinks for a moment before finally settling on a course of action, a game of Pong seeming more appropriate in this instance. She only hopes she can impress both of you with her quick thinking and hopes for the best before firing a flash of brilliant white light into the sky.

Noibat's eyes follow the attack, its head tilting back sharply as the move shoots skyward only to be met by a Barrier that has it rebounding toward the ground. Another Barrier suddenly appears though, sending the light beam bouncing back up again. This happens several times as the Confuse Ray bounces between one Barrier and the other before finally exploding in bright flash of light. Impressed, Noibat hops over to Cradily and natters something that loosely translates into, "Nice moves. What else do you have?"

"Well done, Matthew and Cradily! I may learn a thing or two from you if you keep up with this kind of performance," Jean exclaims with a broad grin. "It appears that Noibat also likes what you have shown it. You most certainly have its attention now so only need to seal the deal..."

myahoo: Jean raises his hands in a "no argument here" fashion and takes a few steps back. With a twinkle in his eye and a grin spreading from ear to ear he watches while you forego the chance to befriend Phantump and instead take the battle path. Something in his expression has you second guessing your choice of action but you shake it off quickly and concentrate instead on the Pokémon before you, eager to show Phantump exactly who will be laughing at the end of this battle. The moment it realises you are choosing to battle its smile takes on a more sinister form as its eyes glow bright red. Meanwhile Prince is moving in, a dark aura surrounding him, to deliver an attack just strong enough to let Phantump know he's not planning on playing games. Phantump receives the message loud and clear and responds with a message of its own, the same bright flash of light it had used earlier now exploding in Prince's face, confusing the poor Houndour who yelps and starts running in circles, chasing his tail.

Hearing a muffled snort your eyes turn to Jean who is biting his lip quite hard to refrain from laughing. Catching your eye he's able to hide his amusement and grins widely giving you the 'thumbs up' to show his support. While Prince is frantically trying to catch his tail Phantump comes barrelling in from the side and tackles him to the ground which, luckily for Prince, also manages to knock to the confusion out of him. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts he leaps up and faces Phantump opening his mouth wide and breathing out a powerful stream of flames that lassos around the little Stump Pokémon and erupts into a tall wall of cyclonic flames.

"Whooo, hoooo!" Jean cheers, excited by the display of firepower. "Now is your chance, mon amie! If you are going to catch Phantump and seal this friendship, the best time is before you knock it out! Good luck!"

Talon87: Though it's not blatantly obvious, Mankey is taking note of your every move. While it seems he's staring Carbink down, he's actually watching you through the corner of his eye and is well aware of the stress he is causing you. A part of him is quite pleased by this as it gives him a certain amount of power over you but he also knows that if he pushes you too far then he's going to be spending an awful lot of time on the inside of that Pokéball you've just clipped back onto your belt. His head turns slightly at this action, his eyes latching on to the ball now hanging from your belt rather than clenched tightly in your fist and he relaxes just a little bit. But only just a little. His eyes then move to Jean and Celes. He couldn't really care less about the boy standing next to her, but his eyes narrow even further upon noting how rigidly Celes stands watching over him. Oh so ever watchful. The oh so precious, ever-present Celes. His overly judgmental guardian. Cyrus' favourite, and definitely not Mankey's friend. How can Cyrus ever expect for Mankey to relax and develop any kind of friendship with him while under the constant suspicious scrutiny of this one who is ready to jump on him at any given second? But maybe one day she'll let her guard down and go to sleep or something so Mankey can relax a little. He can't be friendly if he doesn't feel friendly and she definitely irritates him enough to keep him in a sour mood. But anyhow...

Turning his attention back to Carbink, Mankey thinks this one is different though. This one is new. This one has not yet been told to watch out for him because he's a loose cannon. This one knows nothing about him but what he shows it. This one could be his friend. He is a little lonely and could do with a friend so as he looks back at Carbink who is preparing to defend itself his eyes soften and he again pokes the little Jewel Pokémon, this time not quite so roughly, and hears another giggle. Mankey smiles and Carbink squeals happily, spinning a few times to see this Pokémon smiling at it. He grins and looks up at you only to catch Celes watching him closely and his expression hardens again. For a few moments there he'd almost forgotten about her. Why can't the two of them just let him have some fun? Mankey scowls at you both then stalks off to sit alone beneath a nearby tree, where Carbink follows him, concerned for its new playmate.

While you're not quite sure how to react to Mankey walking away after a positive exchange between himself and Carbink, you hear a low whistle as Jean slowly releases his breath, shaking his head. "Wow," he states quietly, his eyes glued to Mankey who is looking positively glum while Carbink tries to cheer him up. "I don't know about you, Cyrus, but I just got some powerful vibes off of your Mankey and if I'm not mistaken there's some jealousy and resentment going on. When you put his Pokéball away you scored a point, but whenever he looks at Celes he shoots her daggers. Tell me Cyrus, does Mankey ever spend time with your other Pokémon without her present? Does he spend much time with you alone and if yes, are you always holding his Pokéball ready to return him should he misbehave? But I think the most important question of all here is, 'Was Celes at all involved with Mankey's initial capture?'. I suspect there may be more at play here than a powerful Pokémon - a potentially dangerous Pokémon - simply misbehaving because it resents having been captured. One thing about fighters is that they are a proud bunch. Very proud. Mankey is a powerful and proud Pokémon who is mistrusted not only by yourself, by the most respected member of your entire team. I may be quite off track here and if you think I am then I apologise and ask for your forgiveness, but I think the key to building a healthy relationship with Mankey is to work on his relationship with both you and Celes separately at first, then together. He needs to know he does not play second fiddle to her and that he is as important to you as all of your other Pokémon. It will be a long and often trying road, but there is always a starting point. Why not let that starting point be here and now? Perhaps we can test this theory by letting him try to befriend Carbink alone, and then take it from there?"

Manon's Friend Safari - Please reply in red

Charminions: "Why of course mon'ami, it will give us time to talk," Manon replies with a smile, linking your arm in hers while Sheba barks happily and races off into the grass. "I believe you were saying that fire types inspired you to become a trainer. Did you know that fire types are rare and highly coveted creatures?" she continues, staring into your eyes as she speaks, making you feel like the two of you are the only living creatures on the planet at this given moment in time. "This is partly why there are so few fire types compared to other Pokémon types. It takes a very special type of trainer to guide and train these Pokémon, to teach them how to harness their power and use that power wisely. In the hands of the wrong type of trainer a fire Pokémon is a very dangerous weapon."

While you chat with Manon Sheba runs into the grass after Fennekin, and although she'd picked up its scent almost immediately she good naturedly pretends to still be looking for the little fox type in order to at least give the illusion of her searching. Upon Sheba's third sweep of the area she hears a stifled giggle coming from behind a nearby tree and as Fennekin must already know she'd heard him, Sheba finally seeks it out. Fennekin dances about excitedly then urges Sheba to hide. The two take turns for a little while before bounding over to let you know what a great time they're having when Manon looks at her watch. "Oh my, look at the time! You all must be so hungry!" " she exclaims. "Here, I have packed us a small lunch," she says, removing several packages from her bag and finding a nice spot of grass to sit on. "Come," she beckons, patting the ground next to her and laying out enough food for the four of you. Leaving over Manon whispers, "Perhaps you may have something a little tasty for Fennekin to try? The sharing of food is a lovely way to help form a friendship, is it not?" she winks, popping a piece of sushi into her mouth...

Lass El: Bergmite is totally and utterly entranced by you, gazing up at you adoringly while you speak to it and when you release Nicki for some more play time the little ice type looks like its about to explode from pure excitement. It hasn't had this much fun in... ever, and wastes no time engaging with your shiny partner. The two decide they like the water, and the muddier the better, with Sparow squawking shrilly when the splashing gets a bit too close for comfort. She ruffles her feathers indignantly and darts up to perch on the branch of a nearby tree while Bergmite and Gible proceed to splash mud all over Manon and yourself. Manon squeals with delight, tossing her bag at the base of the same tree Sparow is taking shelter upon. "It's a good thing I always carry a set of spare clothes," the girl giggles, figuring she may as well join in the muddy water fight since she's already been drenched by the playful Pokémon. "Come join us!" she adds, flicking some water your way.

Several minutes later, after much shrill squealing and hysterical laughter, you all emerge from the water looking like drowned Raticates while Sparow tuts away overhead at the spectacle you've made of yourselves. Manon laughs and releases a Pokémon she refers to as a Clawitzer who proceeds to pressure blast you all to clean you off to some degree of presentableness. "You'll have to come back to my hotel for a nice hot shower and fresh change of clothes," Manon smiles, wringing out her shirt. "I have some spare if you do not have a fresh set on you," she adds, grinning at your drenched clothing. Just then Manon's tummy rumbles and she giggles, blushing. "I am sorry for losing track of time, I'd not realised how late it is getting. Here, have some sushi," she says, handing you a small satchel of food and opening another for herself. Not to leave out the Pokémon, Manon places a plate on the ground and plops herself down on a dry patch of grass, putting some Pokéfood out for Sparow, Nicki, and Bergmite who all descent upon it hungrily, then tosses some more over to Clawitzer who is watching from the middle of the pond. "So, you were saying you'd like to study marine Pokémon and be a famous professor like Mr. Sycamore?" Manon asks, starting up the conversation once more. "Do you have many marine Pokémon or do you simply prefer to observe?" she asks, seeming genuinely interested in your response...

CyberBlastoise: "Oh, that's a shame," Manon replies with a pout, a little disappointed that you're not interested in meeting Skiddo, but she does not dwell on it, immediately moving on. Walking past Skiddo who bleats a friendly hello to the girl, only moments later you come across an exceptionally scruffy-looking canine type of Pokémon who is furiously barking at something in the pond. It leaps forward, barks, the leaps back and barks again. Taking another leap forward it seems to realise it doesn't particularly want to get its shaggy coat wet and leaps back again, barking madly. "My, my, Furfrou is in a rather excitable state," Manon notes, biting her lip with concern. "I wonder what is wrong?" she murmurs, worried. "Do you think we should take a look and see, or would you prefer to move on?" she asks, leaving the decision with you...

OkikuMew: Fennekin stares at you curiously, hesitantly stepping forward to sniff your open hand before turning its attention to your other hand and nudging the Pokémon in it. Apparently the thought of food is rather appealing to the little fox, but it appears the offer of battle has won out in the end. Hot air bursts from Fennekin's ears and it yips in the affirmative with a gleam in its eye. This little Pokémon is already showing itself to be fiesty, so you're quite looking forward to seeing just how much spunk it has. "Ooooh, you're going to have a battle, how exciting!" Manon squeals, clapping and bopping excitedly. "I cannot wait to see how you both fare!" Taking several steps back Manon feels she is at a safe spectator distance and unrestrained excitement calls, "Let the battle begin!"

Stark: While you walk with your arms linked together you feel like a schoolboy on his first date not with just any girl, but the hottest girl in school. Every part of you wants to pull her closer, to take her face in your hands and gaze deeply into her eyes, to caress her cheeks, run your fingers though her hair, all the while feeling her warm breath against your skin, but the more practical and level-headed part of you realises that making a move like this on a girl you've just met is way out of line. You're not even friends yet, so one step at a time. A little flirting can't possibly hurt though, can it? The fact that Manon is hanging on to every word you say rather than pretending to listen is yet another attractive quality of this already wonderfully gorgeous individual, and before long you feel so comfortable in her presence that you feel like you've known her for years.

"Well it seems I was right, you are an accomplished trainer!" Manon smiles when you have finished. At first you think she's just saying that to make you happy but soon realise that what you see is what you get with Manon and that she truly believes what she says. "You tell stories of events that haven't gone quite right for you but I'm not sure if you realise those very events have shaped your life as a trainer. Each of them are a success in their own right, even if they felt like failures at the time and that is because you have learned important lessons from each and every one of them that has made you a better trainer, and a better person, because of it. How can you not look at saving those Finneon, fighting off a Gyarados, and exorcising a ghost from your Pokémon as accomplishments? They are but a few examples of the many battles you have fought along the way and learned lessons from. Such is life. To our dying day life is one big lesson, with the planet we live on being our classroom, and ourselves the teacher. As much as we all like to think we know everything, true enlightenment comes only through learning from our life experiences."

When Furfrou comes along you waste no time in sending Rio off to play with it, a move the little Riolu finds somewhat uncomfortable. Why not just fight the scruffy mutt and be done with it? Fighting is certainly a lot simpler than having to communicate. But then again, Furfrou is already in a rather friendly and playful mood so it shouldn't be that hard to get it to co-operate. Rio's human is rather taken with the female human after all, and when he's looking at her like that then Rio thinks he'll be much more comfortable in the company of another Pokémon anyway. With an involuntary shudder Rio takes off after Furfrou who is delighted to have a playmate and soon finds himself having fun after all as the two romp about Manon's garden and splash in the pond, sometimes scaring the other Pokémon on their rowdy travels.

Now with the Pokémon busy and your attention back where you feel it should be, your confidence soars when the girl blushes at your forward remark and smiles a genuine rather than embarrassed, smile. "Why of course meeting you is a highlight of my trip," Manon replies, and without skipping a beat adds, "as I am sure your meeting me is a highlight of yours." She deserves brownie points for that one and you know it for it is now you who is blushing. The girl grins and turns her gaze to the romping Rio and Furfrou, her eyes following them while she talks. "I come from Santalune City just southeast of Kalos' capital, Lumiose City. Santalune is a wonderful city with a thriving population. I've studied at its Pokémon Trainer School and worked three evenings a week selling hats at its lovely boutique so I could spend my weekends in Lumiose, shopping!" She giggles at this, returning her gaze to yours. "I'm sure it does not surprise you to meet a girl who loves to shop," she smiles, not really expecting an answer. "My friend Violet runs the Santalune City Gym and it is she, along with several other notable Kalos leaders who played a part in organising this 'Friend Safari'. She offered me one of the positions on the tour and I've never looked back. I have enjoyed seeing new sights and meeting new people like you." Her gaze locks onto yours at this point and for a few moments she says nothing, allowing this moment to simmer.

"But that's enough about me," she says at last, finally breaking the spell. "Tell me more about this ghost girl of yours. The way you speak of her one would be forgiven for thinking you have a little crush, am I right?," Manon winks, but before you have a chance to reply Rio comes bounding over and jumps into your arms, waving and pointing frantically at the tall grass. Leaping to the ground again he races off and disappears into the grass. "Oh dear! Furfrou must be in trouble!" Manon gasps, taking off after Rio. A few minutes later, after travelling through the long grass and coming out the other side you find Rio and Manon looking at a mound of earth. "This is a Fennekin den," Manon says as you approach. "It seems Rio and Furfrou were playing here when Furfrou became stuck." Peering inside you see the large canine cramped inside the tiny hole. It barks once, almost apologetically, upon noting your presence and you can't help but feel sorry for the poor thing...

"So, you were saying you'd like to study marine Pokémon and be a famous professor like Mr. Sycamore?" Manon asks, starting up the conversation once more. "Do you have many marine Pokémon or do you simply prefer to observe?" she asks, seeming genuinely interested in your response...

El grinned as Nikki ran around with the Bergmite. In fact, she seemed to be doing an awful lot of grinning and smiling, but that only spoke for the quality of the time she was having. To the exact opposite of her surprise, the part ground-type soon took a liking to the mud, her playfulness ending up being rather messy. She was more surprised when Manon decided to join in too, leaping in with gutso. Soon, El was also being dranched, with Manon calling to her to join in. El looked at the muddy water than smiled back to her Kalosian companion, though only with her mouth and showing too many teeth. With all the mud, it was hard to judge the exact depth, though it couldn't have been too bad since Nikki wasn't having too many issues. She bashfully started feeling her way into the water, testing that there was indeed solid footing with a few taps with the ends of her shoes before placing her feet. The water was only about halfway up her calves before she couldn't stomach going deeper. So instead she sat for optimal splashing with her arms. The little game and frolicking Pokemon were a decent-enough distraction from her anxiety. It's like a bath, she told herself, no, shallower even! It worked well enough to allow her to laugh and properly, genuinely smile, though she couldn't help but notice that she was trembling somewhat as she got out for reasons unrelated to temperature.

El wasn't really one to care about being covered in mud, though she couldn't exactly blame those who did for doing so. She definitely wasn't complaining when Manon brought out a new Pokemon to hose them all down. The sight of the bright blue crustacean made El's eyes widen with glee as she let out a girlish squeal, right up until she got hit right in the face. Mildly stunned from the impact, she shuffled around to allow the back of herself to be cleaned as she tried to clear her mind and nasal passages. Somewhere in amongst it all she heard Manon mention 'Clawitzer', and at that moment she realised that she'd neglected to take any note-taking items along with her. Even just looking at the thing kindled that fire in her heart, the drive to know more.

Before she got a chance to wax poetical in her mind about her passion, however, Manon started to talk. Kind offers of warm showers and dry clothes that El sheepishly accepted. Not that she minded wandering around wet if she had to, but rashes and heavy clothes were things she certainly preferred to avoid. Even as Manon apologised for dragging their trip out so long, El dismissed her worries with a smile and a wave. "We had fun!" she chirped happily. "That's most important, right? My parents always said it was. A, and I haven't seen Sparow fly like that since, well, I met her really. I think something happened to her while she was flying, 'cause I found her stuck in water and she's... kinda scared when not standing on stuff. But that's okay, because she's my partner, and we'll always be together no matter what, right girl?"

Sparow cawed in agreement, and El offered a hand to lift the bird back to her shoulder. Sparow hopped sideways towards El's head and nuzzled her gently. El responded with an equally-gentle head rub before carefully lowering herself to the ground to sit.

"Here, have some sushi."

El's stomach grumbled, that pesky moment where one fails to notice their own hunger until food is mentioned. She bit her lip nervously, staring at the food. With a sigh and a 'thank you', she collected some pieces and picked out the meaty bits, adding them to the plate left out for the Pokemon. She sat quietly munching at what that left for her for a moment, debating whether to mention her dietary choices in life. On one hand, she felt like she ought to explain her actions, on the other, she wasn't particularly keen on focusing on the topic. Thankfully for her, Manon was soon to mention one that she was far more interested in discussing.

"So, you were saying you'd like to study marine Pokémon and be a famous professor like Mr. Sycamore? Do you have many marine Pokémon or do you simply prefer to observe?"

El beamed at the chance to go on about her passions. "Well, I don't necessarily want to be famous," she said to kick things off, "but it would be cool if that's what I ended up being! Famous, I mean, I'm definitely trying super hard to become a professor! I just... really love the things in the sea! They're so fascinating! Like your... Clawitzer? Was that it? I just looked at them and was like 'whoa, that thing's cool I wanna know more!' And it'd also be really cool if I got the chance to teach people about what I learn but, well I kinda gotta focus on the schooly-stuff myself first. And, and I'm getting there! I took some of my Pokemon to the beach at some point and Hopkins -- he's my Shellos -- he befriended this weird snaily Pokemon and she -- the snail -- snuck back to my place on my backpack so I looked it up in my books and stuff and it wasn't in them!" El took a deep breath. "So I took her into town and nobody else recognised her so I took her to a marine conservation centre and they helped me fill out forms and stuff to have a mentor? I hope I get accepted because it's like, I've always wanted to do this and now I might!

"As for if I have any... I have Hopkins and the snail -- I named her Kim and think Bubbleata sounds neat! And I have a Seel and a Krabby and a Wingull and a Mantyke and a Tentacool, and a Horsea and a Staryu! There's a lot to be said about observing stuff in the wild but... I have some trouble with water, I nearly drowned getting Sparow out. I like having Pokemon because it means we get to be friends! But I'm not exactly the best trainer around, actually. I can win battles if I have to, I guess, but I dunno, sometimes I feel like I'm not doing all I can? Like... aren't trainers meant to bring out the best in their Pokemon? I just kind of read and play with them."

Both Nikki and Sparow looked up at El. Sparow remained where she was, but Nikki waddled out around the small congregation at the plate to reach El's side. She shoved her face into El's side, which only elicited a sigh. "I mean, I'm fine with living like that, it's great fun, but I feel like I'm letting you guys down sometimes."

Nikki pulled away and shook her head, which given her proportions was more like shaking her whole body side to side. Before El had a chance to spout of more self-pity, Nikki was engulfed in a brilliant light. El squinted, but fought her initial instinct to just look away as her Pokemon's form shifted before her eyes. Eventually the light faded, leaving El speechless and Nikki to observe her new, sleeker form.

"Gabite!" she cried out after a few seconds, turning back towards Sparow and the Bergmite. In her rush to show off to her friends, however, she forgot to account for her now longer legs, and tripped over her own feet, face-first into the plate.

Schala: "Actually we have quite a few species of Water Types in Kalos. Although many of them can be found in other regions as well. We have four rather unique water types that can't be found in many other places. Maybe you will run across one of them here in Fizzytopia, but I know you won't find them in Kanto or Unova. One of them is called a Froakie and it is often given away to new trainers as a Starter Pokemon. Another is called a Clauncher. It's kind of like a corphish but not quite the same. Plus it is blue. Then there are skrelp which look like rotten seaweed, but in fact are poisonous little monsters. Finally we have Binacle which I don't really know how to describe. They are bizarre little creatures that live in rocks. You'd really have to see one to understand what they are," Wyatt explained as he sat down next to you and the Pumpkaboo, "What about you? Are looking to be a type specialist or something else when it comes to training pokemon?"

The Pumpkaboo seemed rather sedated under your petting letting out a soft "Oooooo..." that was similar to the purring of a kitten or the waging of a dog's tail. All in all, it seemed rather content just letting you do your thing and talk to Wyatt.

Airmid on the other hand was on a mission. Having taken care of the sniper who had so rudely delayed her and caused so much trouble when it came to collecting supplies, Airmid was already losing time. After all, she still had more flowers to collect. Especially since she used a few of the ones she had already collected for the gift she gave to the little blue sniper. She didn't know if the creature would appreciate it or not, but that wasn't the point. It was all about the giving. It didn't take long for her to find a small patch of flowers near some tall grass. There were a number of different colors despite the flowers all seeming to be of the same type. Red one, yellow ones, blue ones, orange ones, and even some white ones. The petals were rather flat, but spread out nicely. In fact if one were small enough they could probably sit right on top of one the flowers and hold the stamen to keep from falling off if they wanted to. As the tiny mushroom drew closer there seemed to be a rustle in the tall grass beyond the flower patch. Airmid's eyes soon caught a glimpse of an eye peeking over the top of the grass and looking at her. The top half of a long, brown, lizard head was no visible as it watched her move toward the flowers. It made no move toward her. At least not yet. It just seemed to sit there watching from just above the top of the grass. In a way the way it watched her was a bit unsettling. As if it were a predator waiting to pounce on its meal.

sweetbbydoll: Seeing Sam evolve was a treat. Especially since she was the first one on your team to do so. The amazement and astonishing beauty of the evolution added an exclamation point on the contest appeal she had performed moments earlier. It also gave the Amaura something to strive for as it unleashed its own contest appeal. Surprisingly, the blue dinosaur was actually pretty good at this. That alone was reason enough to add it to your team. With the goal of being a great coordinator on the horizon, having a pokemon with such a natural aptitude was extraordinary. Of course there was the problem of the Amaura needing discipline. It couldn't just run around trying to eat your pokemon or doing it own things.

With your muscles tightening and the prospect of being paralyzed leading to something worse was filling your mind and despite the want to panic, you manage to remain calm. Instead looking to buy some time without worrying the amaura. As such, you ask for another performance from the pokemon to which you can see its eyes light up with excitement. Maybe a bit too much excitement as it sticks its tongue out at Sam as if to say 'I got an encore and you didn't.'

Meanwhile you set a plan in motion to attempt to remove the paralysis with a little help from Lucy. The Litwick begins to glow pink as it concentrates on trying to follow your commands only pick your whole body up about an inch before dropping you back down due to its concentration being broken from the paralysis it is feeling. Your eyes look towards the Amaura who has once more begun blowing snow out of its mouth this time concentrating it into a pile the eventually ends up being as big as it is. Another blast of cold air begins blowing away snowflakes into the air as the dinosaur starts to shape some kind of creation. Lucy once more tries to use Psychic, this time instead of trying to move you, she manages to move the Dragonball on your belt off and drop it into your hand while the Amaura finishes its sculpture. The snow creation looking an awful lot like the blue dino who is posing right next to it almost as if the two were twins. Its eyes met yours expectantly as if waiting to see what you think.

jolteonjak: Once more you remind the Tyrunt that the Clauncher in your arms is not going to end up being a meal and still it continues to advance on you, Taran, and the tiny crustacean in your sling. Fortunately, the Thunder Wave had seemed to slow it down a bit or this could have gotten ugly fast. It wasn't enough though as the dinosaur continued to close in on you causing you to change tactics. Taran let loose a screech that reminded you of nails on a chalkboard. The Tyrunt didn't really appreciate the sound either given the way it whipped its body hard to side when it heard the noise. It seemed about to retaliate when it just stopped in place for a moment. A couple of small arcs of electricity shimmering over its body as it did. It would seem that the Tyrunt was paralyzed and couldn't move. How long it would last your couldn't know, but Taran didn't wasted the opportunity it provided. Following your command the electric spider shot a string of webbing at the Royal Heir pokemon that began to wrap around it and impede its movement even more. The dinosaur roared it frustration, but couldn't do much as it ever so slowly trudged on toward you. Its determination driving it to its goal.

Each closing second felt as if it took forever. Your mind began to wander from attacks that would be helpful if Taran only knew them to thoughts of Ledyba and the hopes he had of his partner arriving in time to help. The second thought even more important given somehow the Tyrunt managed to build up a quick burst of momentum as it closed the gap between itself, Taran, and you. It would seem any second now you were going to feel what it felt like to be tackled first hand. Or at least you would have save for the fact that a loud crack of two solid objects smashing into one another. The Tyrunt is knocked off to the side where it slides across the ground as Ledyba hovers above the spot where the dinosaur was when it got hit. The bug type slowly turned to look at you to make certain you were alright while the voice of Wyatt can be heard approaching, "Hey! Hey Chad! We're here to help!" The Kalosian trainer soon closes the gap between himself and you as Ledyba takes up a position between you and the Tyrunt. "So what's going on?" the trainer asks before noticing the dinosaur getting up off the ground off to the side. "Oh hey! That's a Tyrunt! They are actually fossil type pokemon which makes them pretty rare. Although it looks as though everything is under control with this one so far. Well maybe I spoke too soon. That is definitely an attack stance it is in."

What will you do?

Rakurai: The Amaura was beginning to get even more frustrating for you. While you wanted it to join your team, you weren't quite to the point of trying to take it by force. After all, that seemed a bit unfair, even if the dinosaur was being a pain. The thought of leaving it alone for a while crossed your mind, but then you didn't really want to miss a chance at having it join your team. Instead you once more decided to try talking to it again.

Taking a seat next to the bluish pokemon, you explain why it was here and how you can help it if it wants to become a part of your team. Your hand touches its back and for a moment it flinches, but soon the Amaura calms down and allows you to keep your hand on it. Once finished, Flandre and Tia add their own thoughts to yours in an effort to convince the dino to join you. Once the pair had finished their recruitment drive, the Amaura raised it's long neck and turn its head around to face you. Its eyes narrowed as it tilted it head to the side as if sizing you up. Finally the Amaura stood up and walked a few steps away from you, then turned and stomped on the ground a few times with its front feet. A low growl emanated from the dinosaur as you saw for the first time a look of interest rather than the lazy apathetic appearance the Amaura was giving you before. It shouts its name a few times as it continues to bounce around like a prize fighter in a ring.

"I think it wants you to fight it," Chantelle says with a hint of uncertainty in her voice, "Yeah that's exactly it! I get it now! It wants you to prove that you are good enough to be its trainer. It must have been disinterested before because it didn't think you would be good enough for it, but now... now you've convinced it that you might be the one for it. You just have one last hurdle to clear before it accepts you. It all makes sense now!"

What will you do?

Good luck!"
She glanced at the Kalosian trainer as he backed up with a "no argument here" sort of hand motion and noticed the grin spreading across his face. An uneasy feeling made her hesitate for a moment, but she quickly brushed it off; from his expression, Melissa didn't think it would be anything too bad for either her or Prince, so she let herself get swept up in the excitement of the battle.

The Phantump's eyes glowed red as its smile took on a darker edge and her firepup landed the Pursuit just fine. Of course, the Ghost-type retaliated with that bright flash that had gotten Wildfire earlier and a second look at the attack had Melissa groaning as her Cyndaquil winced. The brunette couldn't stop herself from help bringing a hand to her face, while Prince ended up distracted by his tail.

"Right, Confuse Ray. I completely forgot that was a thing." Her voice was momentarily muffled by her hand, but she managed to shoot an embarrassed glare at Jean when his unsuccessfully suppressed snort reached her ears. The other trainer managed to hide his amusement the moment he met her eye and shot her a thumbs-up with a wide grin; Wildfire carefully clambered up to Melissa's shoulder as the brunette dropped her head into both hands this time.

A thump from the battle had her peeking up to see whether the situation was salvageable and she grimaced at the sight of her dual-type knocked to the ground. It was a bit of a relief to see him getting up and shaking his head, leaping in to attack the Phantump with fire per her earlier instructions; it looked like that hit knocked him out of confusion, which was always good. As the Ghost-Grass-dual-type was surrounded by flames, Melissa made a mental note to herself: Ghost-types have Confuse Ray. This is a thing. Do not forget this thing again.

"Whooo, hoooo!" She heard Jean cheer, apparently excited by the display of firepower. Or maybe just by the fire, she wasn't sure. "Now is your chance, mon amie! If you are going to catch Phantump and seal this friendship, the best time is before you knock it out! Good luck!"

"Thanks. Pyro much?" she returned good-naturedly, as she pulled out the Safari Ball he'd given her at the start of this walk. "Prince! Stay alert, in case this doesn't work." The named Pokemon barked his agreement and kept an eye on the encircled Ghost-type as the Safari Ball came flying towards it. She could feel Wildfire tightening his grip on her shoulder as she stared intently at the situation.

The little fire fox interestingly looked at Okiku at first, then sniffed her hand to acquaint itself to her. The young woman smiled as she was glad it was friendly and unafraid (but cautious) towards her. However, the Pokémon seemed more interested in Ayla's red and white home in her other hand, poking it with its nose.

“Oh ho,” the trainer exclaimed, “seems like you're a little fighter, huh?” She get back up, juggling around the Pokéball a bit in her palm, “So you wanna see how my friends puts up with you?”

The Fennekin responded positively, gleefully snarling and bursting up a few puffs of hot air from its ears. It even had one very determined expression read in its eyes!

“Oh my, I'll take that as a yes and yes!” Okiku grinned as took a few steps behind, getting ready for the upcoming match.

“Ooooh, you're going to have a battle, how exciting!” Manon shrilled in excitement as she skipped away from them, leaving more room for the battle and putting herself at a safer distance, before she yelled, “Let the battle begin!”

Okiku grinned widely as she spin the Pokéball on the tip of her index for a few seconds. “Alrighty, Go Ayla!”

After she threw the ball and a blue light flashed out of it, an Aron appears on the ground, staring intensely at the Fennekin and stomping her feet on the ground.

“Haha, already knowing what's up, girl?” her trainer stated. “That's right, battle time! Just what you were waiting for!”

Ayla grunted happily, then growled in a competitive way towards the fire Pokémon, not planning to go easy on it!

“Let's get this party started then! Ayla,” she ordered, “Start by Honing your Claws a bit, then Curl yourself Defensively before Rolling out and at it!”

Sheba is pleased to abide, merrily running off after the Fennekin. Meanwhile, Manon gleefully links her arm to Charm's, causing the young train to turn bright red yet again. A color rather difficult to achieve for his skin tone, but occurring often enough that it didn't seem too off.

Manon goes on about her knowledge of Fire-types, which Charm tries extra hard to focus on instead of the entwined arm around his own. She looks directly into Charm's eyes, causing the trainer to blush harder, but he responds, "Um... yes, I've had my... difficulties catching and raising Fire Pokemon before... They are a very special type, which is why I want to befriend many of them... they remind me of myself."

Charm is all too familiar with the dangers of Fire-type Pokemon, a memory of his Magmortar shook him in his thoughts, and he hesitated before bringing it up. With a brief cough, he clears his throat, "I have a Magmortar... who has been rather difficult to train. He's rather chaotic and unruly... but to be honest, I've been a poor trainer to him. I traded him off when he was a mere Magby, and when that trainer no longer wanted him, I took him back as a full-fledged Magmortar. I wasn't there for much of his growth, and I feel he may resent me for it. I don't know if I'll ever gain his trust..." Without realizing, Charm was starting to tear up. He didn't know a simple chat would bring this out of him, but he felt he could trust the Kalos trainer. He quickly runs an arm over his eyes, "Um, sorry about that. I got too lost in my thoughts, hehe."

Sheba, meanwhile, is enjoying her game of hide and seek with Fennekin. Despite picking up the fox's scent, she decides to prolong the game in good nature. After searching for a while, she hears a soft giggle from behind a tree before confirming it as the Fennekin. The little fox dances with joy before urging the Houndour to hide. The two take turns for a good amount of time, before returning with smiles on their faces to Charm and Manon.

Manon realizes how much time has flew and springs out packed lunches for every one. Finding some grass to sit on, the trainer sits before urging Charm and the Pokemon beside her. They start to eat as Manon whispers to Charm, suggesting he share something for the Fennekin to try before winking. The young trainer fumbles with his food, but realizes she has a point. "Hmm," he reaches into his bag before pulling out a Bluk Berry. "Here, Fennekin, why don't you try this? You might like it." He places the purple berry before the Fennekin, hoping the fox will enjoy the treat.

sweetbbydoll: Seeing Sam evolve was a treat.

What will you do?
Having been paralyzed Liza thought about how reading something in a textbook was completely different from actually experiencing it yourself. It was scary, and yet she knew that this, this is what it meant to be a Pokémon Trainer and she absolutely loved it!

Watching the excitement in Amaura really did put everything into prospective. It was the same look she felt when she was a little girl watching trainers compete on a single stage with their Pokémon. If it didn’t hurt so much, Liza would have been able to giggle seeing how the ice type stuck its tongue out at her Charmeleon. Of course no one knew Sam better than her own trainer, and that’s why Liza knew Samantha was probably burning up with Dragon Rage that she couldn’t move let alone make another performance.

As they watched the fossil type go to work on another appeal, Lucy tried her best to Psychically grab her trainer’s Dragonball from her waist. A Pink Aura soon surrounding the ghost type as she struggled to fight off the paralysis, accidentally getting a hold of her trainer’s whole body instead before-

Oouff! Liza endured the pain as her bum hit the cold hard ground.

Sorry mama…it just hurts so much. Lucy said apologetically.

It’s alright, just concentrate, I know you can do it! the trainer reassured.

I’ll try…

As Lucy tried to focus…Liza watched Amaura use her Powdered Snow to create an ice sculpture of its self. It was so well done; that it was a little difficult to tell which one was actually alive.

Well if that isn’t some high self esteem, I don’t know what is hehe the trainer thought.

With a little extra push…There! Lucy was able to drop the ball her trainer needed into her palm. Grasping it tight in her hand Liza struggled to get up, “No-w, tha-ts th-in-kin-g out-side th-e bo-x! Beaut-i-ful.” She said before pushing the button on the Dragonball, “Th-at’s it f-or rou-nd on-e!” revealing a white and fluffy Mareep who looked around its surroundings not minding the cold due to the wool around her body.

“Apy…do u-s the ho-nor of s-ingl-ing th-e end of th-e a-ppeal st-age wi-th y-our Heal Bell.”

“Mareep!”

Katsura wasn't really sure what to think of the Amaura's initial response to his actions, as it turned towards him and narrowed its eyes, looking about disinterested as ever. However, what came next was bit of a surprise, as it proceeded to walk a short distance away before finally showing some liveliness, stomping the ground, making some noise, and hopping about.

It was quite clear to him what it was trying to say, even before Chantelle provided her own interpretation. It wanted to battle, evidently having decided that he was worth its time after his little talk, but wasn't about accept him without a show of skill.

"A battle, is it?", he said to the Amaura with a grin. "If that's what it takes to prove myself to you, then I accept. Just give me a moment to decide who'll be your sparring partner..."

He turned to Tia and Flandre, the former of which was waiting quietly, while the latter was waving her arms at him and making a bit of a racket now that a chance to fight had finally arrived, wanting more then anything else at the moment to be the one chosen. He was aware of his would-be opponent's typing, and knew that neither of them would have an easy time, Tia especially, which made him consider using one of his other Pokemon for a moment. However, Flandre's sheer enthusiasm ended up winning him over, and he reasoned her training would likely level the playing field.

"Okay, this one's on you, Flandre.", he said after his deliberation, the Charmander jumping for joy at his decision before running out between him and the Amaura. "It might have a bit of an advantage against you, but that's nothing you can't overcome now, is it?", he asked her, to which she pumped her arms and gave an affirmative cry of "Char!".

"Well then... I hope you're ready, because here we come!", he announced to the Amaura as he thrust a hand out towards it. "Flandre, get started with a Smokescreen, then Dragon Dance before going at it with Metal Claw!

Following your command the electric spider shot a string of webbing at the Royal Heir Pokémon that began to wrap around it and impede its movement even more.

They are actually fossil type Pokémon which makes them pretty rare. Although it looks as though everything is under control with this one so far. Well maybe I spoke too soon. That is definitely an attack stance it is in."

What will you do?

Despite the paralysis, Tyrunt kept trying to close the gap between itself and Chad and Taran. It seemed determined as ever to reach him and the ailing Clauncher. In an attempt to add some extra insurance against Tyrunt, Taran let out an incredibly loud screech. It worked, temporarily at least, as the loud noise caused Tyrunt to freeze in its tracks. Once the screech was over, though, it resumed its approach. Movement was still slow though, as the paralysis managed to keep it at a crawling pace. Taran continued its mission of slowing Tyrunt down by using String Shot. Hopefully he could tie Tyrunt up.

Unfortunately for Chad and Taran, the Attaching Pokémon’s efforts weren’t working very well. Tyrunt was getting closer. It managed to fight the paralysis and String Shot. Chad had hoped that Ledyba and Wyatt would have seen the Energy Ball as a distress signal. He even had an idea of what Ledyba might do first if he were here.

Chad even imagined what that attack would do, as Tyrunt was thrown off to the side by Ledyba now in its place. “Wait, you really are here!” Chad was relieved. “You have impeccable timing, you two.” Wyatt approached behind Ledyba.

“Hey! Hey Chad! We’re here to help!” Wyatt announced as he joined Chad and Clauncher. “So what’s going on?” he asked before he noticed Tyrunt was around. “Oh hey! That’s a Tyrunt! They are actually fossil type Pokémon which makes them pretty rare.”

“Correction, it’s a hungry Tyrunt,” Chad explained. “I caught this fella munching on a Clauncher when I brought our friend down to the pond.” Ledyba checked with Chad to see if he and Taran were ok. “I’m so glad to see you Ledyba. Taran, thank you so much for your help.” Chad smiled at both of his Bugs. The Joltik nodded happily and began to climb back up onto Chad’s head. Ledyba nodded and faced Tyrunt once more. He looked at Wyatt again, “Tyrunt had, I mean has its eyes on this Clauncher. So that’s one glaring reason it’s not in the water yet.”

“Although it looks as though everything is under control with this one so far,” Wyatt continued. “Well maybe I spoke too soon. That is definitely an attack stance it is in.”

“I wonder if this Tyrunt is why the Bunnelby had dug all of those holes. Maybe it was chased by Tyrunt?” Chad hypothesized. “For this Clauncher’s protection, and what’s left of them in this pond, I know what I have to do.” Chad knew this battle wasn’t going to be easy. “Ok Ledyba let’s do this. Start chipping it off with Air Cutter. Next whip up an Ominous Wind, and before the wind is over, ride it to Tyrunt to potentially give your Mach Punch some more power. With any luck, we’ll have enough of a distraction to slip Clauncher into the water.”

----------------------

What will you do?

Schala listened intently as Wyatt described the four Water types unique to Kalos. Some were fairly easy to imagine. She had seen pictures of Corphish before, so it was simple enough turn it blue in her head. Others, like the Binacle...well, Wyatt had called it indescribable. She kind of wanted to see a picture of one now.

As Wyatt sat down, he asked a question of his own. And Schala was drawn away from the slightly silly thoughts of blue Corphish and what weird rock dwelling Water types looked like.

"A specialist?" She repeated. "No. I can't say I've ever really planned to use a specific type. The Pokemon I have sort of...just happened? I didn't go out seeking them in particular. Maybe someday I'll end up with a lot of Pokemon of a particular type, but it wouldn't be intentional on my part." She eyed Wyatt curiously. "Did you start out wanting to be a Water specialist, or did it just happen?"

The Pumpkaboo look like it was halfway to sleeping again. And it was making adorable noises while she petted it. It was really kind of cute, Schala decided. It seemed happy, so she kept on petting it. No need to disturb it when it seemed perfectly content where it was.

She was getting a little concerned about Airmid, however. Of course the Shroomish could take care of herself, but it didn't usually take her this long to grab supplies. Schala was loathe to break the relaxing air that had settled over the group, but she was getting a little worried.

I'll give her a little more time, she decided. If Airmid doesn't come back soon, I'll bring it up with Wyatt and we'll go looking for her.

------

After leaving the slumbering Water type, Airmid stumbled across the perfect patch of flowers. Lots of them, in all sorts of different colors!

Happy to have found what she needed, Airmid bounced forward to start collecting, but suddenly noticed that she wasn't alone. She eyed the newcomer a bit warily, but there was no movement. At least this one wasn't shooting water at her!

Maybe the other Pokemon would like a gift too? The white, or even the orange flowers would look nice. Maybe alternating? Still, she couldn't make a present until she got the flowers, which meant she would need to get closer.

She edged towards the flowers--and the new Pokemon. Said Pokemon was eyeing her a bit oddly, but that wouldn't deter her from her quest! She'd make a quick gift for the dinosaur (a white and orange flower crown, with maybe a yellow or two thrown in, she decided), and then grab the rest of what she needed and get on her way.

Angelique’s Zone: please reply in pink

Seakittenyfool: As Skrelp disappeared within the smoke you couldn’t help but smile, this Pokemon was something else. It seem to continuously strive to improve and prove itself and that was very admiral. You already felt a strong desire to make true friends with this Pokemon and prepared yourself to meet its challenge head on. You considered your options and although your Abomasnow could offer you instant success you didn’t feel like it would be fair or a challenge to yourself so you turn to your Swampert to meet Skrelp’s challenge. The smoke was thick but Mjolnir had a trick up his own sleeve and he fell down onto all fours and using his keen eyes began to peer into the smoke with his Foresight and it didn’t take long for him to spot Skrelp within the fog and his grin matched your own. He breathed in deep before shooting out a Mud Shot that pushed through the smoke allowing you to see your target momentarily. Skrelp looked honestly surprised that it had been spotted so easily and it barely managed to move as the mud clipped its side sending it spiralling across the water. The smoke caught in the spin and went spiralling around Skrelp covering its body once more but Mjolnir didn’t appear fazed, he shot out a blast of Water Gun and the sound of impact was heard throughout the zone, was it Skrelp you hit?

The 4 of you stare into the smoke watching as it slowly began to rise and dissipate waiting patiently to see the outcome of the challenge. Your patience is rewarded as the smoke clears as you see Skrelp lying against the bank opposite you. It is covered in scratches and bruises and is panting hard but it has a big smile on its face. It looks happy that you beat it in its challenge and its half-lidded eyes turn to your arm where you hold your Safari Ball. It closes its eyes and nods its head at you and you hesitate no longer and throw your Safari Ball at Skrelp watching confidently as it was sucked inside. The ball hardly wriggled before it pinged signifying capture. You slowly walk around the lake to your prize, your newest Pokemon and look over to see your Pokemon and Angelique all grinning at you.

Congratulations. You have captured a Level 05 Male Skrelp.

“You earned the respect of each other for sure and I know you’ll have a great new friend,” Angelique said giving you a hug as she congratulated you on your capture. She pulls back with a frown on her face, “however it does mean that our time together here has come to an end which is sad,” she says before smiling brightly again. “But this doesn’t have to mean the end mon ami, after all we could still meet up and go shopping before I leave for home.” She says brightly as she escorted you to the entrance of her zone. “Let’s exchange numbers and meet again for some shopping ... I’m glad you opened up more in the end,” she said blushing before leavin you to your own devices.

Upon replying to this update you can add Skrelp’s data to your registration post and start RPing with him right away. Congratulations on the capture ^-^

As Bill and Manon were walking through the safari, it was getting late. The Safari would be closing soon and he did not find that one Pokemon, and according to regulations, he only had two encounters left, he had to make this count. He hoped, prayed that the next one would go over smoothly at least. "So, you asked me about my adventures earlier, like I said, back on Floe Island in the Kanto region, I found my Squirtle in a nearby cave. Apparently pollutants or something got in with it too making things dangerous for him, but I got him out and he's been with me ever since." Bill pulled a Pokeball from his belt. "So what about y-"

Before Bill could complete his own question, a very obnoxious barking sounded, one that came from vocals he had never heard before. It wasn't like an Arcanine's or a Houndoom, no the barking was a lot higher pitched. He turned to view the source of the sound, a white four-legged creature that looked like a somewhat-shaved, white, thin Growlithe. This is a bit curious as it was barking at something in the lake itself, interesting.

Manon turned to Bill, expression showing a bit of worry for this creature. "My, my, Furfrou is in a rather excitable state. "I wonder what is wrong? Do you think we should take a look and see, or would you prefer to move on?"

Bill replied, hands slightly over his ears to muffle the noise, "Well I'm curious at least at to what it's yelping at. I'm pretty sure we'll be hearing it until whatever's in the pond will come out, even if we don't help it. Let's look into it anyways." Admittedly, Bill wasn't interested in the Furfrou itself, hell anything that makes that kind of racket probably wouldn't be worth keeping, but if they could stop whatever it is barking at, at least it might calm down enough for hunting down...the final Pokemon he realized. So far, they ran into a Fire Pokemon, a sleeping goat, and now this loud thing, wonder if the fourth and final Pokemon they encounter will at least be good. I mean hey, it's possible at least, but for now, they needed to take a look at the task at hand.

He smirked to himself as he remained steady as can be, watching the spectacle within the smoke. If this truly was a test, then surely he would succeed in his task. With grin on face, he was confident in his ability to succeed, as the big fish grunted and remained silent, as though reading the smoke. His grin swiftly got wiped as the sudden parting of smoke emerged as a burst of mud careened towards him, catching him on the flank as he swam desperately out of the way, spinning as the mud shot caught him off guard. The smoke swirled around him, cloaking him once more, but he deep inside knew that he had been bested at his own game, even as a second blast, this one of pure water, struck him dead on and knocked him onto the bank as the mire began to thin. He had lost, yes, but his pride wasn't hurt. Quite the opposite, in fact, for a lesser Skrelp would have tried to battle these opponents with gusto, and he knew they outgunned, outlevelled, outclassed and finally outsmarted him, and it was fun, above all.

The screen lifted, a final curtain call for the performers, and his opponents, through his aching eyes, delivered a nod. A sphere in hand, and the Skrelp knew his destiny lay within. After all, many of the others within the area were docile, the first in this strange land, and many of them would find homes. He nodded, closing his eyes and giving permission as a light knock on his body signalled he had been hit, and as he was drawn in he felt at ease.

-----

"You earned the respect of each other for sure, and I know you'll have a great new friend."

Alex could only smile in some bafflement as Angelique gave him a hug, a probable Kalos custom for congratulations he surmised, before she broke the hug and noted that the capture meant the end of the journey for them both, but chimed in that they could always exchange numbers and go shopping sometime. He sheepishly agreed, Mjolnir and Mistilteinn having been recalled for the journey back, before he too left the safari. He did have substantial funds from his previous years left to blow, and the FizzGate upheaval and governmental refurbishment of the region meant those excess coins could go to some use. With safari ball in belt, he grinned before heading for the sunset. He'd plop the Skrelp off at his base to get acquainted with the others, before heading out to the financial district to sort some paperwork.

-----

Within sapphire tinted cliffs, a cave system was undergoing some serious mining operations below. With claw and pick several pokemon toiled hard, but further below, in a natural cave system, a single pokemon stood overlooking a table. On said table lay a map of Fizzytopia, and several sites circled in red. Nearby, a Drowzee was at a computer, poking buttons as monitors flickered sporadically when a click echoed nearby. Both figures turned to the third newcomer, her purple fur and devilish smirk reflected on the faces of the pair as she lumped the small box onto the desk and worked her claw in the lock. A small click later, and the latch was lifted as she hopped back for the leader of the troupe to open. Within the box lay a single crystalline orb of sorts, humming with untapped potential.

Fragarath the Honchkrow chuckled grimly. Christmas indeed came earlier than expected.

empoleon dynamite: You were impressed with the spunky young Skrelp and despite the odds stacked against it it never backed down. It looked to you for your reaction at its strikes and with a swift nod it puffs its chest out before staring down Reaver once more. You clutch your Safari Ball in your hand, you had allowed Skrelp to show off its strengths and it was more than enough to convince you that it would make a perfect new team member. Reaver had entertained it long enough and now it was time to end this show. Reaver glows as he taps into his vast water energies and the lake begins to ripple then large waves form before the Kingdra. Skrelp looks alarmed and lets loose a flurry of Bubbles at Reaver, the attack tickling his skin as he maintains his hard stare. The mud from the bottom of the lake mixes with the water and soon a large wave of Muddy Water rises up and crashes over Skrelp the water splashing out causing you and Angelique to leap back to avoid getting hit. The water settles back down but no longer crystal clear, the water was murky with bits of mud floating atop its surface. Skrelp slowly rises out of the water a pained look on its face. It was shaking violently, it couldn’t take another attack like that! It looks over its shoulder to you longingly as Reaver’s next attack, a bright green Dragonbreath slams into it forcing it through the water to the bank. It washes up with swirls in its eyes unable to battle any further. Until the end it was trying to impress you and though it knew it was no match for Reaver it never gave in. You tap the little kelp Pokemon with your Safari Ball and it’s sucked inside and it wriggles back and forth before coming to a stop.

Congratulations. You have captured a Level 05 Female Skrelp.

You bend down to collect your newest Pokemon as Reaver swims over with a look of satisfaction in his eyes. Angelique approaches you with a warm smile on her face.

“I think you’ve got yourself a good friend there, a determined fighter that will fit in with your other Pokemon,” she says looking to your proud Kingdra. “I’m afraid that the addition of your new friend however means that your time here is over and I will be sad to see you go ... you will b okay getting back won’t you?” she says remember your earlier episodes in her zone. She holds onto your elbow and steadily guided you back to the entrance to the zone.

“Good bye my friend, I won’t forget you any time soon,” she says with a wink and you are left to your thoughts or perhaps hallucinations. At least the Safari Ball in your hand was real as was your new friend within.

You can add Skrelp’s data to your registration post and start RPing with him right away. Congratulations on the capture ^-^
Rain hammered against the lagoon as the two sea dragons danced beneath the surface. The kid could hear for naught and splashing waters distorted the underwater world. The shadow of the mock kelp swelled in size – chest puffed up as it braved its final bout. Wes’s heart pumped with an excitement that coursed through his veins, tingling down the tips of his fingers to the Safari Ball nestled in his grip. He had a hungry look in his eyes as he took aim waiting for just the right moment… Reaver was first off the bat, antennae glowing with Water-y energy as the pond grew turbulent. A rill of surf ploughed forward, picking up Mud from the riverbed as it began to crest. In a last-ditch effort to throw the seasoned seahorse off, Skrelp fired off a volley of Bubbles, the attack tickling his scales as he retaliated with the full force of the dirty surf. Wes winced as muddy water gushed against the banks, stumbling rearward to avoid a soaking. The lake quickly settled, dirt clouds now obscuring the two fighters. The mock kelp Pokémon was teetering on the brink though – that much was clear by the force of the strike. Reaver was kind enough to put its cousin out of its misery though, churning up a powerful Dragon Breath, the emerald flares engulfing the Skrelp thrusting against the shore. Wes sprinted to its side as it lay washed up like a clump of seaweed. “Maybe that was a bit overkill”, he conceded, tapping the seahorse on the fin with the Safari Ball, the ball wriggling to a standstill with hardly any fight. It was almost poetic that the camouflage ball would house a Pokémon so stealthy.

Congratulations. You have captured a Level 05 Female Skrelp.

Wes pumped his fist in the air – Reaver swimming to his side with a twinkle in his eye. “Female ay? Maybe it wasn’t me she was trying to impress after all?” he teased. The sea dragon gruffed indifferently, returning to his ball as the trainer broke away from the lagoon. Angelique met him with a warm smile which he awkwardly reciprocated – unsure if his earlier episode had left any lasting effect…

“I think you’ve got yourself a good friend there, a determined fighter that will fit in with your other Pokemon! But I’m afraid that the addition of your new friend means that your time here is over and I will be sad to see you go ... you will be okay getting back won’t you?”

Wes flushed with embarrassment, “I’ll be fine. Nothing like a rain shower to clear your head!” The two exchanged a parting wave as the trainer made a beeline for the entrance, “It was lovely to meet you!”

“Good bye my friend, I won’t forget you any time soon,” she replied with a wink, leaving the kid to his own devices… A few wrong turns made the journey longer than anticipated. Dusk was starting to settle when he finally caught sight of the entrance, a large bushy figure waiting at the turnstiles with a dopey grin on his face… Tangrowth! They’d last seen each other at the lake a few hours back, and the tangled heap of vines had been busy. He’d collected a handful of mushrooms mottled with white spots – no doubt off the hide of some unsuspecting Paras. Wes laughed as he slapped the caveman on the back, “I’ll pass buddy, although if you want a real trip, maybe my newest friend will let you sample her poisonous spines…”

Thanks for the experience Arc! It’s been a long time since I last roleplayed, so I appreciate the opportunity to shake off some rust.

Jean's Friend Safari - Please reply in silver

myahoo: Jean grins and winks in return to your comment, neither confirming or denying this as fact, though from his actions you're pretty sure you don't need verbal confirmation of your suspicions. While you wouldn't exactly say you've built a friendship during the past hour you feel you've picked up enough from him to have a pretty good idea of where his mind is at and so follow his advice. Reaching for the Safari Ball he'd given you when you met, you throw it without hesitation. Prince watches closely, Wildfire's claws dig into your shoulder, and you take a very deep breath as the ball sails through the air toward the spiralling flames. Phantump doesn't even attempt to escape the attack or evade the ball, knowing full well that any attempt to move inside of its fiery prison will mean instant KO, and allows itself to be sucked into its new prison. The ball drops to the ground, the capture light turning green signalling successful capture, and Prince's attack dissipates, leaving you the new owner of a Lv.5 male Phantump.

"Congratulations!" Jean cries, clearly pleased with your successful capture. "You may not have started your new relationship on exactly friendly grounds, but you'll have plenty of time to work on that," he adds, his tone indicating that he believes you'll be able to accomplish this easily enough. "Now that you have caught your Pokémon our time together has come to an end. I am a little sad we don't have more time to get to know one another but I do hope that we will one day meet again," he continues, handing you a card with his contact details. "If you should ever visit Kalos I will be happy to show you around but for now, mon amie, it is farewell. I wish you all the best and hope to meet with you again one day to see how far you have come, and perhaps battle with you and Phantump. Goodbye and good luck, mon amie, I hope you enjoy your new partner."

As Jean walks away you and Wildfire look at the Safari Ball in your hand. The Friend Safari may be over, but its legacy will last a lifetime as you have a new friendship to form with a Pokémon looking for a strong trainer. You're fairly certain you've shown it that you are worthy of the chance to train it but now begins the real test, so as you walk away from the Kalos event you look forward to proving to Phantump that you are not only a worthy trainer, but a loyal friend...

Manon's Friend Safari - Please reply in red

Charminions: Manon seems to understand your feelings of failure when it comes to Magmortar and takes your hand in hers, squeezing it reassuringly. "It is quite normal to feel inadequate as a trainer at some point in your life, especially given those circumstances, but you must not fall into the trap of second guessing your reasons for doing what you did," she says softly. "You did what you had to do at the time, and you did it for the right reasons," she continues, taking your other hand in hers and looking deeply into your eyes. "Could you have handled the situation better? Maybe yes, maybe no. This is something you will never know so instead of regretting the choices you have made you must instead focus on the positives that have come from it. You were but a starting trainer at the time you traded Magmortar away. While you may not have been as young as some, by trainer standards you were still a baby yourself and it was clear he needed something more than you could offer. You gave him that, even if it wasn't your first choice of action. You gave him to someone who helped to guide and raise him while you moved on to learn techniques that allowed you to grow and mature so that the next time you find yourself in a similar situation you will be in a better position to handle it. Then, when you had the opportunity to take him back you jumped at the chance to prove to him that you are now worthy to be called his trainer and that you will do anything to prove this to him. Remember - he may be fully evolved but he is still quite young and still has a lot of training ahead of him. This will give you both plenty of time to forge that bond you both undoubtedly wish to share. Do not be sad mon ami," she finishes, brushing the tear from your cheek. "Your paths have crossed again, as they were meant to when the time was right. You have respect for him and the great power he possesses. He now needs to learn to respect you, and he will. Time will heal you both, you'll see."

Turning her attention back to the Pokémon Manon giggles as Fennekin sniffs around your bag, searching for another berry before sitting next to you and placing its head in your lap waiting for a pat. "Fennekin seems to like you, Charm, and it's no wonder," she smiles, her eyes discreetly looking you up and down. "You are exactly her type of trainer". Manon doesn't elaborate here, but you assume she's talking about the fact that you train fire Pokémon and that Fennekin is a fire type although you can't shake the feeling there was a hidden message in there somewhere. "If I am not mistaken I think you may have found just the Pokémon you were looking for," she continues, gesturing to the Safari Ball she had given you at the beginning of the tour...

Lass El: "Oooh, how delightful," Manon smiles with wide-eyed wonder as the light of evolution surrounds Nikki. "I love to see Pokémon evolve, it is one of the most rewarding and exciting aspects to Pokémon training, do you not agree?" she continues, giggling when Nikki trips over her new feet. "Do not worry Nikki, you will get used to your new form in no time at all!" Manon adds before returning her attention to you. "Come," she says with a smile, "let us go and have that shower we spoke of." While you walk with all Pokémon in tow, Bergmite included as it had been enjoying your company immensely, Manon responds to some of the things you were talking about through lunch.

"I'm sure you will be famous," the girl says in such a way that you find yourself believing every word she says. "The way you light up when you speak of marine Pokémon shows you have passion, and where there is passion there is no stopping a person. I have no doubt you will make your mark in your chosen field, and if you let me I am quite happy to help you reach your goals. I come from Santalune City in Kalos where there is an excellent Pokémon Trainer School. If you are ever interested in visiting Kalos I know I can help to organise for some classes you might enjoy. We can also visit and spend some time in Ambrette Town. It is a coastal town with a fine aquarium. I have a friend who works there who I'm sure will love to give you a private tour and share with you all he knows. If you like, we can also visit the Fossil Laboratory to see if the professor there recognises your little snail. If it is as rare as you say, is it not possible little Kim may be the last of her kind? Perhaps the professor may recognise her, or know of some way to help trace her ancestry? It cannot hurt to ask. There are also some cliffs overlooking the town where a few of the more daring avian trainers like to battle. The strong gusts way up there attract them as it is unpredictable, making battles that little bit more dangerous, giving their fliers invaluable experience on the battle-front. I'm sure they will be happy to offer some advice for Sparow. Then, if you like, we can sunbake on the beach to relax and if we are lucky may even meet a few new water type Pokémon. From what I have seen you are a wonderful trainer so please do not second guess yourself. Perhaps you do not work at the same pace as other trainers, or follow the same path as them, but your Pokémon all adore you and you have a dragon who has just evolved. Dragons are one of the more difficult species to train, and need a strong firm hand to guide them. If you ever find yourself feeling overwhelmed just forget everything else and look at your team to help put things back into perspective. You are doing fine, El, and I believe your Pokémon feel the same."

Before you know it you've reached Manon's hotel where she insists on you taking the first shower while she stays with the Pokémon. The warm water is welcome, and while you shower you mull over all Manon has said. A short while later, freshly washed and dressed, you emerge from the bathroom. "I imagine you must feel much better now," Manon smiles, picking up her own change of clothes and heading into the shower. "There is some leftover spinach and ricotta cannelloni in the fridge if you are still hungry," she adds, nodding toward the kitchen. "I have dinner plans tonight and we are leaving to return to Kalos in the morning so I would hate for it to go to waste..."

An hour later you return to the Friend Safari where the next person is waiting to go in with Manon. Bergmite appears rather distressed though, as it does not want to leave you. "I guess it is time to say goodbye for now," Manon says with a hint of sadness, "but I do hope you will consider visiting me in Kalos one day." Handing you a card with her contact details Manon gazes upon Bergmite whose heart appears to be breaking. "There is definitely one friendship formed today that I believe is worth pursuing," she adds, smiling at the little ice-type. "Will you be happy to consider Bergmite a parting gift from me to you?" she asks, scooping it up into her arms where it gazes nervously at you, hoping you'll say yes...

CyberBlastoise: Concerned about the time and the fact you've not yet encountered a Pokémon that interests you, you're hoping this doesn't turn out to be a wasted opportunity. With only four Pokémon to find here and the first two of little to no interest you can't say you're anywhere near impressed with Furfrou or with the ruckus it's making so pin your hopes back on the pond where something in that general vicinity seems to be bothering Furfrou so very much. Moving closer to try and get a better look at the thing Furfrou is barking at you note the stillness of the water and feel your heart begin to sink when you spy something rise to the surface and just sit there bobbing in the water for a few moments.

"It appears Furfrou is barking at that little Bergmite," Manon laughs, watching while the tiny chunk of ice moves toward you. Furfrou's frantic barking increases as Bergmite approaches, and when it reaches the edge of the water Furfrou takes several eager sniffs before being pelted point blank by a chilling gust of powdery snow. With a surprised yelp and an involuntary shudder Furfrou shakes itself off then turns and races off into the long grass, leaving you all for dust. Bergmite giggles then looks up at you curiously. "Bergmite!" It announces with a friendly smile, seemingly very happy to meet you...

OkikuMew: So without further ado you get this battle going, releasing an extraordinarily keen Ayla who faces off against the gleeful Fennekin, Honing her Claws against each other with anticipation. While Ayla's claws glint menacingly in the sunlight hot air blasts from Fennekin's ears as it fires a blanket of small orange sparks from its mouth that fall over Ayla who Curls into a Defensive position to avoid taking too much damage from the attack. Fennekin then leaps over top of Ayla, performing quite an acrobatic type of move as it spins around to give Ayla a Tail Whipping. Still curled up, Ayla starts spinning, throwing up grass and dirt as she takes off at high speed, Rolling Out and around to Fennekin, knocking it over in the process. Fennekin leaps back up, snarling, and races in to Scratch Ayla. Fennekin certainly is feisty but has come off second best in this round. You can see it's not a quitter though, and is ready and raring to move into the next round of battle...

Grinning widely, Ayla gladly started to Hone her Claws, as if sharpening her blade before an exciting battle. Her opponent didn't want to wait and get ready to fight though, immediately attacking with sparkling fire. Taken by surprise and not wanting to get any more damage (despite not getting as much pain as if she was a pure Steel type, thanks to her Rock secondary type), the Aron Defended herself by Curling into a ball. Wanting to take advantage of its opponent's position and trying to break through her defense, the fox Pokémon skillfully jumped on top of her and whipped her tail on her. Taking the extra weight on her and the attack as a cue, Ayla, starts Rolling and spinning Out and about, shaking the Fennekin off of her and hitting it too. That little wild Kalosian Pokémon sure got a lot of fight in it... but Okiku's iron Pokémon has waited for so long to prove the skills she's been working on almost all her little life, and it showed!

"Way to go, Ayla!" her trainer cheered. "Keep it up! Keep using Rollout, but if you ever stop from rolling for some reason, use those sharpened Metal Claws of yours!"

"Arrrrrr!" the Aron growled in confirmation, ready to rumble for as much rounds as she can take!

Manon hears out the trainer's story, sympathizing with Charm before taking his hand in hers. Charm's constant fumbling at the contact with a female began to cease as Manon eased her emotions. She reassured him that he made the decisions he thought was right, and that it's okay if he didn't handle things perfectly in the past because he grew from it. With enough time, she said, the relationship between Charm and his Magmortar would heal and they would both continue to grow from it. She wipes a tear off the trainer's face, and he couldn't help but let out a smile.

"You're right, Manon... I should have more confidence in myself. I worked hard to get to the point I am at, and Ignatius will have to acknowledge that sooner or later... Thank you. It's not often that I get the chance to receive advice from someone while I'm on my journeys, and this... this was nice," he smiles, gently squeezing her hand back.

The Fennekin, meanwhile, was sniffing through Charm's bag, searching for another treat before sitting next to the Fire-type trainer and resting its head on his lap. He pats the fox's head, and couldn't help notice how cute the little Pokemon was. Manon makes a comment on how the Fennekin is beginning to like him and that he's just the right trainer for her. He took it for what it was, but the Kalo trainer's body language seemed to hint at something else. She gestures at the Safari Ball, which Charm holds in front of him.

"I think so too," he smiles, shyly pausing at Manon's gesture before turning to Sheba, "What do you think if Fennekin joined the team, Sheba?" "Dour!" the Houndour barks, wagging her tail happily to signal she approves. He then faces the Fennekin. "So how about it, Fennekin... Wanna join our team?" He holds the Safari Ball before the Fox Pokemon, allowing her to make the choice herself.

It took Manon speaking up in response to Nikki's evolution for El to to break out of her initial stupor at seeing it. Even so, she was only avle to make a few generic stammerings of amazement for a few seconds before she pulled her mind together enough to respond. "A, actually, that was my first time seeing an evolution," she said with a weak smile. "It really was something though, I hope I'll get to see it happen again." She nodded determinedly, but barely half a second later she thought of an addendum. "No, I will! You're gonna become a great, strong Garchomp, Nikki! You're gonna be able to care for yourself! What do you say?"

Nikki pulled herself up off the ground and looked El in the eye. For a few brief seconds, neither made a move. Suddenly, Nikki burst into a little bouncy dance, cheering "Gab! Gabite!" for all of the second it took for her to fall flat back on her face again. El laughed and shuffled over to help the dragon back to her feet. Nikki's enthusiasm was hardly hampered, and she set off running once more. After a few more tumbles, El decided on simply returning her to her Pokeball so she could calm down some. An injury was the last thing El wanted to result from this little escapade.

El had almost forgotten about her little tirade earlier, caught up in Nikki's excitement, but Manon clearly hadn't. She started addressing El's concerns one by one, voice full of sincerity. At first, El wanted to find some place to jump in and add her voice, but she was so focused on Manon's words that she couldn't think of any for herself. By the time they reached the hotel, El didn't even want to interject. She was beaming, eyes full of joyful tears and heart full of dreams. She quietly accepted the prior offer of a shower, not a word said due less to a lack of gratefulness but a simple overload of it.

"Th, that sounds great, what you said before" she said once she was nice and clean. "I'd love to do that one day, but I might need to learn some of the language first, probably. I've heard that there's this fancy fountain somewhere called Perle Fountain? I, I remember reading about it somewhere, I think, it stuck in my mind 'cause Perle's my surname so it'd be kinda cool to get to see it."

El graciously accepted the cannelloni, starting with nibbles but slowly becoming proper bites as she recovered from her emotional overload. Having something more substantial than some rice in her stomach certainly helped in that regard. "Oh, this is nice," she mumbled as she got into it. "I can see why you didn't want to waste it."

Food eaten and bodies clean, the two left to return to the Friend Safari, El half-bouncing the whole way. The Bergmite was still there, to which El gave a friendly wave. Also there was the next person to go in with Manon, which she confirmed to mean the end of their time together that day.

"I guess it is time to say goodbye for now, but I do hope you will consider visiting me in Kalos one day."

"Yeah!" El beamed, "I'd love to, definitely!"

It was then that El realised that she'd forgotten the whole point of her little adventure as Manon lifted up the Bergmite. "There is definitely one friendship formed today that I believe is worth pursuing. Will you be happy to consider Bergmite a parting gift from me to you?"

El only needed to glance once at the Bergmite's eyes to get its confirmation. "Of course!" she beamed, rummaging through her pockets for the Safari Ball she'd recieved. After a bit of fiddling, she managed to get it to expand, and gently tapped it up against the Bergmite.

“You dolt!”

Matthew had realized his mistake not seconds after he originally called out the order; somehow confusing the stacking game of Tetris to the much simpler and earlier arcade game of Pong. Years of playing arcade games had done him no good; he could only hope his pre-historic Pokémon would have absolved enough knowledge from his favourite past-time to make a logical adjustment. It was of course feasible, Matthew had set up multiple old school arcade games in his old base before making the switch to the one he currently held in the Power Plant, but how much Cradily learnt from the electrical machines, all hopped up with flashing lights, was still yet to be learnt.

As it turned out, the Pokémon trainer needn't have been worried; Cradily expertly reading his intentions and not his words to create a masterful Pong table to bounce the ball of light from near-death to high-in-the-sky until it exploded. A thumbs up confirmed how pleased he was, his little grass-type had shown herself more than capable under duress from his mistakes, and despite being fairly young was showing a calm head on her young but levelled head.

Noticing the show was over, Noibat fluttered over to his Pokémon in a jovial manner, nattering away in Pokéspeak. Matthew couldn't understand a word of it; he hadn't the latest equipment some of the tech-wizards FB had to offer to translate, nor did he have a talking Meowth to qualm his queries. All he knew was there was no attacking, no rash or loud noises, no sign of immediate danger, and for the land of Fizzy Bubbles, that was extraordinary in itself. Such a land had led him to a life of constant peril, and while he enjoyed that as much as the next trainer, it was a breath of fresh air to be in such a wonderful park, without the threat of criminal organisation or attempts on his and his Pokémon's lives.

The Pokéspeak stopped before Cradily turned round expectantly towards Matthew, the trainer having no real clue about the conversation. He, like Cradily before him, took a chance and decided to step it up a notch. Perhaps he could innovate his arcade game style to create a more complex game, one he had personally enjoyed through much of his childhood. Pinball.

“Okay Cradily, create a pinball-esque table with a Barrier, then set up a Mirror Coat to knock the Confuse Ray pinball around! Give it your best!”

Yep, pinball was the game of all games...

As Bill and Manon approached the dog-Pokemon with caution so as they can actually see what would be worth causing all that racket over. Left, right, left, right, hoping that the rustle of the grass wouldn't frighten it away yet, and thankfully its own barking helped mask the sound. Soon the two got up to the lake to find that it was barking at ....some ice? Odd.

Bill could see Manon's eyes widen as she exclaimed, "It appears Furfrou is barking at that little Bergmite." Bergmite eh? A little ice Pokemon, but it at least wasn't melting in water, that was interesting to say the least. Better than some Crygonal that he seen before. And that barking was giving Bill a headache, he kinda wished that this was in the Safari Zone instead so he could just use Rock Throw on it....and not get in trouble for it.....nor feel bad for it later on in the day.

It seemed like that the Bergmite had the same feelings as Bill, because it started to use what looked like Powder Snow on the Furfrou chasing it off, and finally some peace and quiet before it exclaimed "Bergmite!" in victory. It even gave what looked like its own little victory pose for a bit, a smile. This was it, this was the one, he could feel it. Not that fox, not the goat, not with the dog, not green eggs and ham...but this little guy. Bill went down to its eye-level "Hey there lit-"

Suddenly Megas, the Golett, jumps in between the two and yells out "GOLETTT!" while striking some sort of ....what Bill assumed to be some sort of 'macho man' pose. Soon Golett in its poketongue introduced itself and its trainer...and then Manon. Seemed like it was getting too impatient to wait for Bill...again.

sweetbbydoll: While the fossil pokemon continued to display its contest prowess, you manage to get a hold of the pokeball that could help you get out of your current predicament. With a little help of course. All in all, the amaura seemed to be pretty confident in its abilities which seemed to bother Samantha more than it did anyone else. Then again, Samantha was stuck in a situation where she couldn't unleash her competitive side, so being stuck watching and waiting was probably torturous to the Fire Type.

With a flash a golden sheep soon appeared on the scene giving you the chance you needed to rid yourself of the paralysis that had overcome you and the others. The mareep let out a soothing chime and it didn't take long for you to feel the effects of the paralysis departing as your muscles soon relaxed allowing you to move normally once more. The only thing was this little distraction seemed to be just enough to upset the Amaura who looked like it was on the verge of crying now that it was no longer the center of attention. With a rather melodramatic turn, the blue dino began to walk off in a huff away from you all.

What will you do?

Rakurai: The battle lines had been drawn as Flandre and the Amaura faced off ready to fight. Sure Flandre was at a bit of a disadvantage, but her desire to fight seemed to be the perfect equalizer in this case. Besides, you had trained her well to this point. It was only natural that she would be able to overcome any type disadvantages that were present. Flandre wastes no time following your directions and blows out a thick cloud of smoke concealing her on the battlefield. The Smokescreen leaves little more than a silhouette of the charmander present on the battlefield. The Amaura however, is ready to go as well as a Wave of yellow Thunder tendrils emanates out from the dinosaur into the cloud of smoke where they manage to connect with Flandre causing her to feel her movements slow considerably due to her muscles trying to lock up on her. That doesn't stop her from moving about in a strange and graceful Dance of Dragons though. It does slow down the process a bit though as it gives time for the Amaura to breath out a sparkling blue-laced wind of Powdery Snow that chills your charmander to the core and yet does nothing to lower her spirits. In fact her spirits seem to be quite high as her Claws shimmer like Metal before she rushes toward her opponent and strikes the dinosaur hard sending it flying backwards where it crashes into the ground and lies there for a moment in pain. An audible groan can be heard as the Amaura picks itself up off the ground and looks at Flandre with rather stinky eyes. A low Growl can be heard coming from it and it looks as though Flandre lost a little confidence from hearing it.

All things considered, this seems to be quite the battle brewing. Flandre is a bit paralyzed and has taken some damage, but seems to be doing pretty good overall. The Amaura on the other hand looks as though it is hurting having not been ready for that attack Flandre unleashed on it. Still, the outcome of the battle has yet to be determined.

What will you do?

Wyatt's Zone- Please respond in Blue
jolteonjak: You manage to fill Wyatt in on the details pertaining to this seemingly unstopping Tyrunt while also feeling grateful that your signal for help was answered. With Ledyba here, things felt a lot more comfortable than they did when you were trying to slow the dinosaur down. You come to the hypothesis that perhaps this Tyrunt was the reason behind the Bunnelby digging all of the holes and Wyatt stops to ponder the assessment for second. "Yeah, it's possible. I mean when you think about it, maybe the bunnelby was trying to protect itself by creating a some kind of defense against this thing. The only problem was that other pokemon and well... me fell into the traps too. That makes sense."

The Tyrunt once more began its approach undeterred by your reinforcements. In response you give Ledyba the instructions needed to try to take the thing down at least long enough for you to get the clauncher to the safety of the water. Time was definitely not on your side in this case given the way the clauncher was already starting to look half dead in your sling. Ledyba flaps his wings as the grass parts giving way to a set of invisible blades of air that strike the dinosaur squarely causing it to roar in pain as the Air Cuts it. The attack seems to freeze the Tyrunt as it stops moving obviously still under the effects of Taran's paralysis. Ledyba wastes no time and soon let's out a deep breath of purplish Wind that had a rather Ominous feel about it. Almost as if it were a harbinger of danger to come for those caught in it. The Tyrunt lowers its head and plunges right into the attack flinching slightly upon impact, but still continuing to move forward having dug down deep within itself to find something to help it push through the assaults coming at it. Ledyba on the hand quickly follows his own attack spreading his wings and gliding on the currents as his hand glows blue with energy. The pair of pokemon soon draw close to one another as they both seem to pick up speed. Ledyba thows his fist forward in a Mach Punch while the Tyrunt coils its legs and explodes into a Tackle to meet the punch. A deafening sound is heard from the collision as dust and dirt fly up around the combatants. The Tyrunt is once more thrown backward onto the ground while Ledyba loses his altitude and crashes. The force between the two giving off the equal and opposite impact on both of them. Still, Ledyba looks like he is doing pretty good despite taking a pretty strong blow. The Tyrunt not so much. Between the paralysis, and the attacks Ledyba has thrown its way since showing up, the Tyrunt looks to be getting tired. However, that doesn't seem to be enough to make it want to go away as it stands up once more and stares at the sling you are carrying before turning its attention back to Ledyba.

"It doesn't stop does it?" Wyatt commented in amazement, "If you are going to get that clauncher to water, you might want to do it soon. It isn't looking very good."

What will you do?

Wyatt's Zone- Please respond in Blue
Schala: It isn't long before the Pumpkaboo is asleep next you. Your gentle petting having lulled it into a comfortable state of slumber. Even the chill you were feeling originally from touching it doesn't seem nearly as unnerving as it did before. In fact you can barely even notice it now that you've become accustomed to it. While that was good news, you did have to wonder just what was taking Airmid so long. It had been quite a while since she had wandered off and the thought that you might have to go look for her was not far from your mind.

"Well, my first pokemon was a water type. A Froakie I got from my region's pokemon professor. I didn't really start off wanting to be a Water type specialist, but the more I traveled the more I started to enjoy them. Especially after I got my first fishing pole," Wyatt explained, "The first fish I ever caught was a magikarp. It was pretty disappointing even though I know that magikarp eventually evolve into powerful pokemon. In fact, mine is one of the most powerful pokemon on my team. Still, I was hoping to catch something really rare and unique. Maybe a dratini or something. Who knows? It was a while ago now. Once I received a squirtle from Professor Sycamore, I made my decision to become a powerful Water Type trainer. I scoured the coastline of Kalos and traveled the rivers to find a large variety of pokemon that would fit the theme I was going for. I mixed in a few non-Water types along the way, but for the most part my team is nearly all Water types. I came on this tour to help find other Water types that are not native in my homeland. Hopefully when we go to Johto I will be able to find a Totodile since I've wanted one of those for quite a long time now. Anyway, that's how it all happened for me and now here I am." Wyatt smiled as he stretched out his arms above his head for a minute. "So what is the dream you follow as a trainer? I mean we all have goals of some sort. I'd love to hear what yours are."

--------------------------------

Airmid briefly hesitated going near the flowers when she saw the other pokemon staring at her. However, since it wasn't shooting water at her, she decided to throw caution to the wind and proceed with doing what she came here to do. Collect the materials needed to make a nice gift. The thought that this other pokemon might want a gift too soon crossed her mind. After all, why not give and give and give? It seemed to make everyone happy when they received gifts right? She began picking her flowers as the other pokemon stood unmoving and watching her work. There seemed nothing more than a strange curiosity on the part of the other pokemon. No aggression. No apathy. Just a kind of peaceful observing. It didn't take Airmid long to grab all the flowers she needed to make her gift and then some. The then some being the gift she had suddenly decided to make for the one who watched her. Gathering some white and orange flowers she quickly threw together a crown and presented it to the dinosaur who looked at her as if confused by the gesture. Airmid wasn't about to give up though and she once more thrust the crown out to signal that it was for the Tyrunt to wear. Slowly the dinosaur lowered its head and Airmid found herself dangerously close to a large set of jaws full of sharp teeth. Still the dinosaur made no attempts to attack. Instead it waited until Airmid placed the crown upon its head then stood up straight and turned a bit side to side making sure the gift would not fall off. It looked down at Airmid and smiled with a nod of appreciation. From what the shroomish could tell, this fossil seemed to be pretty proud of the new gift. So proud in fact that once Airmid began making her way back to you it followed along. Teeth and all.

What will you do?
