Nyx was adamant that Levin made an offer for the thoroughly-unwanted Seedot. After all, it was just a Seedot. Levin made a point of only training Pokemon he intended to keep, wanting to keep his circle of friends as small and cohesive as possible; instead, he found himself taking in more and more Pokemon recently, to the point where his team was now full of newcomers. As fate would have it, since his "awakening" (as Mazo put it), Levin was able to find several remarkable creatures, each special in its own way, and his ranks grew a lot faster than he anticipated at first. Part of him feared that he might not be able to raise all of them to the best of his abilities, but then again, he cared for each of his new friends like family - it was his obligation to do his best, rather than shy away from a Pokemon he'd like for fear of failing. But this Seedot... She was my very frst capture, and i let her go. It had been the first of many regrets in his journey as a Trainer. Back when it was only him and Min, they found and captured a wild Seedot at the Cloud Garden... but the creature showed little promise to the power-hungry young man and he dumped her in the Adoption Center. Nyx knew this, and yet here she was, insisting he raise this one now... Keith was already waiting, as was the Seedot who stood motionless inside the trade pod. Levin greeted the veteran Poison-Type expert and glanced at the seemingly unremarkable Grass-Type. It just stood there, a living acorn like so many of its kind... but Nyx was fascinated. It really is the Old Soul! It's been so long since I last saw you as a Seedot... The last time we met you were the keeper Shiftry of Silver Forest in Cascadia! And before that, the guardian of Astoria... My father would have loved to see you again. The last sentence carried a hint of sadness Levin hadn't heard since Nyx was a Gastly fresh off her battle with Mediville's demon Gardevoir. If her amazement had any effect on the Seedot, it was imperceptible, but Nyx seemed pleased nonetheless. - Nyx... I think it's about time you explain all of this to me. Tell me what's happening, and tell me why I should care about this Seedot; I've already released one too many of its kind. The Gengar's customary grin widened. You might look at this Seedot like just another one, but it's far from that. My father called it the Old Soul - a Pokemon who found a way to live forever. It's almost as old as me; my father said it exists since life was created on this world. Back then it really was just a normal Seedot, who evolved into Nuzleaf and at one point Shiftry. In its solitude deep in the first forests, it became fascinated with the cycle of life and death - and controlling it became its obsession. Versed in the ways of ancient magic, it learned to shape the elements of wind, light and darkness. Eventually, it found a way to permanently renew itself through rebirth. Since then, whenever its old Shiftry body withers and dies, it turns back into a seed, and eventually grows back into a tiny Seedot, infinitely prolonging its lifespan... It is perhaps the wisest creature you'll ever meet, but he does tend to keep his wisdom to himself most of the time. Isn't that right? The Seedot again said nothing remaining expressionless and static. - If it retains its memories every time it revives, imagine the things it must know... I may be slightly older, but he is more in tune with the ways of this world than I am. I prefer the company of shadows of a realm beyond this one. He's quite the formidable mind, so I suggest you keep him and raise him to his full potential; he can teach you and your Pokemon things beyond your wildest dreams. An immortal Seedot... who would have guessed such a creature existed? But then again, what would the scientific minds of the Pokemon World do with it if they found out? No, he couldn't let them know, for the Pokemon's sake. And besides, the prospect of raising an elder tree spirit with infinite knowledge on the ways of the world and mastery of arcane arts was too good to pass up. - Well look at that... Looks like you got me to care! This might prove interesting after all. Come along then... Only one name felt appropriate. Just like his Luxray took the name of the Skarmory he used to own and failed at raising, this Seedot should bear the name of his very first failure so as to remind himself never to repeat it. The name of his first capture, also a Seedot, but this time, he'd see this one's training through to the end. -... Wicca! ----- Trading $10 to Missingno. Master for his Lv 1 Male Seedot. *Trade closed* Quote:
- Thanks again for doing this Ethan. It's been quite a while since I first started looking for this Pokemon. It was true; despite the recent discovery of his innate affinity for Fire, along with his well-known preference for Fighting-Types, he was yet to own a Pokemon with both types - which, he imagined, he'd should have no trouble raising for those same motives. It was for good reason; Fire/Fighting Pokemon were usually property of Pokemon Professors and only awarded to up-and-coming rookies about to start their journeys, which was far from Levin's current status. Outside of that, actually finding or hatching such a creature was almost a statistical impossibility, so much so that the Saffron-native believed finding Eld itself, the Volcarona from his youth, to be more likely. But now I have the unique opportunity to raise an Emboar of my own, meaning only Blaziken and my greatest target, Infernape, remain. This is proof that it's possible! He shook Ethan's hand in appreciation, then walked over to the machine. The Tepig was already inside its pod, but behaved strangely for a newborn. It paced incessantly around the chamber, like a caged best, looking restless, almost angry. He never gave it any thought, but it made sense that this would be the proper temper for a fire boar; even so, for such a young hatchling to behave so aggressively from the start made him feel apprehensive... what was he getting into? He placed his payment on the designated slot and finalized the trade. The Tepig rushed outside of his pod, kicking about and spewing embers from his nose. It stopped shortly afterwards, tired, after looking around and finding nobody to engage. Levin watched, half amused and half concerned, but what did he expect? This one was going to be a handful, but he was capable of controlling Vlad - how much worse could this Tepig be? - Come along now, I've been waiting for you for a very, very long time! You'll grow into a magnificent warrior, I'm sure of it. You'll be known as Gouka, and your name will strike fear into the hearts of your foes! He winked at the staring Tepig and recalled him into his Pokeball, feeling both proud and worried. Gouka's thrashing about was entertaining right now, but what about when he became an Emboar? He better have tamed the Fire-Type by then... --- Trading 3 Rare Candies and $500 to Electric Blue Eye for his Lv 1 Male Tepig. *Trade closed* Thanks again for agreeing to do this man! ^^ |
