NPR reports Donnelly (D) defeated Mourdock (TP). The Republicans got greedy and the state pushed back! Tea Party, go home!

I'm extremely disappointed that Sherrod Brown has won and Steve Chabot looks like he is going to win (in Ohio). These people have been in office for a very long time and are part of the problem, as well as being huge SOPA supporters.

I can't say anymore that I'm pissed with congress if congress keeps being re-elected by the idiots who won't fucking push for getting rid of incompetent incumbents - rather, this is the fault of the people.

So I took a look at Google and Obama is quite ahead in Ohio with only about half reporting and is very, very, very narrowly ahead in Florida with nearly all reporting.

Interesting...

Edit: Dat Gary Johnson pulling 4% in Maine and 3% in NM

Best quote of the night.

"There's going to be some serious soul-searching in the Republican Party tonight. They need to find a way to appeal to Hispanic voters. The old white men are dying out."

(Paraphrased, but still)

HuffPo is being stupid and calling WI for Obama while everyone else is saying it's leaning Romney, but is still too soon to tell.

Please stop being dumb at reporting, HuffPo.

NPR reporting Scott Brown (R, incumbent) defeated in Massachusetts senatorial race. Edward Kennedy's old seat returns to the Democrats after only a 2-year Tea Party vacation.

This is shaping up so far to be one awesome "FUCK YOU! " to the Tea Party. A complete withdrawal of their 2010-gifted mandate and, with any luck, a renewal of Obama's 2008 mandate. This should hopefully give Obama some more bite to his bark this term when trying to get shit passed on Capitol Hill.

NPR reporting Minnesota goes to Obama, also reporting that Todd Akin (Missouri, R) lost. Neither really surprises anyone, I dare say.

Florida @ 92% precincts reported in, Obama leads by only 16,000 to 21,000 votes. As others have already noted, FLORIDA, WHY U DO THIS? >( ^^; Always so friggin' close.

Obama currently leading in Ohio by more than Romney leading in Virginia. gg?

I might be looking at the completely wrong place, but this election count is giving me a heart attack. Not the best thing to wake up to in the morning. x.x

It's funny - Gary Johnson has 42,000 votes in Florida. He may very well be the determining factor and steal the election from Romney.

Oh I started this night anxious, and it's gradually giving way to something close to what people tell me hope might feel like. Still hearing that Ohio is too close to call, but Obama maintains his lead and that it looks like Dems are getting senate majority~

Edit: Update from The Onion (America's Finest News Source)- "Election Results: Confused Wyoming residents have legalized sex with marijuana."

CBS is also calling Wisconsin for Obama. They have been for a while, actually.

CNN is reporting that based on polling many of the counties in Wisconsin that haven't been counted are going for Obama, and they're predicting it will switch to him as well (though they aren't ready to call it).

Just prepare yourself for the worst, it's all you can do. Try to be at peace in your mind with whoever wins, because it's beyond your control and there's nothing you can do, so don't let it give you anxiety.

Yeah, I've been following CNN and Google - I was following NPR, but their interface annoys me.

As much as I don't like Romney, this election really shouldn't be about the Presidency; Congress's inability to pass legislation should have been the talking point but the presidential election took over and everyone ignored the real problem. If Romney wins, it's going to just be another 4 years of a dead Congress. If Obama wins, it'll be the same thing.

Susan Estrich says she favors Obama's chances to win, and Fox News (fair and impartial newsmen, all) immediately point out that she is "Familiar with being on the losing side =)"

If only we could get Clinton again. I'd have voted for him over Stein.

This is eerily similar to how I feel in the 3rd period of a Bruins game.

Obama is on the cusp of victory here. He only needs 21 more EC's.

EDIT: And Dems retain control of Senate. GOP retains control of House. 4 more years of nothing, it would seem.
