If you wanted stupid stuff like that, there was Fizzy Bubbles.
I reffed in Digimon and Imperial Star Destroyers in the areas I patrolled. It was the wild wild west back then. I'm disappointed Mozz's vision of signature moves never came to pass. I would have preferred that and probably stuck with PASBL longer during the second comeback attempt.

You could absolutely get away with Scizor summoning a rune-encrusted two handed sword as a signature move. It wouldn't be a permanent structure and would have to fade after using the attack, but the flashy aesthetics of a move really don't matter that much anymore.
I mean I have a Saitama inspired Machop. |

It was a permanent item. Also, the Scizor turned gold like a Super Saiyan and had its stats boosted.
It wasn't a very creative move. This was the inspiration. I'm appalled anything corporeal like that is allowed in PASBL today. The league is overdue for another reset.

Meh it wouldn't really be corporeal. It would be an energy construct which, like I said, faded after being used in the attack. We've actually managed to strike quite a strong balance aspect with regards to Pokemon signatures.

So, official reveal discussion might be a thing to do now? Maybe, just maybe?
The starters' secret apparently is they have species specific Z-Moves. Somehow, that's kind of disappointing. Personally, I feel like decidueye got the short end of the stick animation-wise, though that might just be the fact that I really like Never-Ending Nightmare speaking. My favorite one actually is Primarina's of all things, and I'm really not sure why. Hopefully Hau will use it at some point in my play through- Sinister Arrow Raid is not enough to turn me away from Team Rowlet! Confirmation that Status Z-Moves add the effect to the normal one is a huge plus. The leaks never made that clear, so I kinda thought that most of them complete wastes of your one Z-Move slot. Thank goodness that isn't the case! It does beg to question as to whether or not the animations will change- it would be pretty awkward to see a pokemon perform a full-on tackle only to just boost their stats, you know? Alolan Dugtrio's official art does not give it justice. And I'll admit that I didn't expect it to be Steel, though it does kinda make sense. I just though Fire would be more likely with it's inspiration... And my favorite looking Ultra Beast has been revealed... with absolutely no information on it appearing on the official site. Why you do this to me, GameFreak?! Oh well, at least UB-03: Lightning has it's title listed, which is more that Origami Samurai and Copper Kaguya (the two in the CoroCoro release) can say. At least we can deduce that those two are UB-04's based off of the fact that Glutton is UB-05, but the question then becomes which one is exclusive to which version. Even when the hype train has almost reached the station, GF is holding back on the information, huh? ...And that's all I have to say here without going into spoiler territory. This really was a short trailer, wasn't it? |

A common theory about the internet is that Alolan dugtrio is based off of Pele's Hair, a type of volcanic glass that can be found in Hawaii (it's actually named after a Hawaiian goddess, I remember correctly). This explains why it's base is darker, too- it's made from darker igneous rock compared to it's Kantoan cousins' sedimentary. Though, that only justifies Fire- as I said before, I was pretty surprised to find out that it's Steel Typed instead!
