>5. The Dueling Network community is weird.
Schaden had someone flip out because he used Pollinosis to negate a Solemn Warning (which was a Fire Fist player, and he was trying to negate a Stardust Dragon summon) and insisted he couldn't do that. They aren't just weird, but downright retarded to. Speaking of YGO stuff, Schaden had me take a look at his Black Garden deck and asked if I had any tips for improving it. I looked at it, and...grimaced on the inside but I told him that I would try building my own variant and see what he thought about it. So I built a variant involving a small Sylvan engine, and he liked it. I'm not sure I've gotten good at this deck-building thing yet, but its nice that people like my decks! This is how our mirror match was before he left. I had a full ATK TKRO on the field, and a face-down BTH (which I've discovered is fukken terrible with Black Garden and is only good for the occasional Leo), and had just come off the defensive while getting raped by a Felgrand, who I didn't realize can't ignore Garden's ATK lowering eff. Sads, part of the reason I included him in the deck. (Schaden still has the old one, don't worry. :P) |

So I learned today that this deck has a hilariously good match-up against Constellars. The guy sadly did not have an Exciton Knight (which is one weakness of the deck, I'm considering adding in a couple Starlight Road), so all he could do is burn me a bit with Gagaga Cowboy and over-extend himself with XYZs. Twice I got a full field wipe with Mirror Force, since he apparently only had one Omega and Tytannial stops those lances. Tytannial just shuts down the deck period. Kaus? Nope. MST? Nope. Pliedes? Nope. Also the Pollinosis play to Starlight Road was troll worthy. It was very, very grindy. As you can see, I had less than ten cards in the deck. But it was oh, so, worth it.

Nah they will soon. Who wants to duel?

So there's this hilarious card called '4-Starred Ladybug of Doom' which would actually be kinda decent if levels and ranks weren't different things (what gives, Konami?).

The Bujingi Crane / Black Garden loophole is the silliest thing ever. Konami why did you do this?

I can't win jack in matches anymore. The deck consistency problems are too immense.
Even with the adjustments, the TCG banlist really killed my deck.

I hate JD. It's super annoying that ROTA, Allure and Formula Synchron are limited yet crazy decks like Turbo Lightsworn exist now.

7 monster zones isn't happening. Though you could argue that's the two pendulum zones.

I just learned that Outstanding Dog Marron has a niche in Shaddolls for being infinite LIGHT fodder for fusions.
The amount of jelly for not thinking of that is high.

So this just happened ... Quote:
This guy was either attempting to play mind games with me and is far too inexperienced to be able to pull it off or else he was just an idiot/crazy/both. Either way, I figured it might entertain some of you, so here you go. swampertforever: Jiangshi's not shitty ...! ;_; Talon: *pat pat* There, there ... I only said that to him to smacktalk him back. swampertforever: But ... but ... *sniff* I'm sorry, Swampert. Sorry, Jiangshi.

Most of the people on the site are little kids, it seems. If you curse at them, they react very badly, which is something little kids do.

~ Fire Fist ~ A Story in Three Parts "My, what a lovely field this is. So pretty. This is perfection. This is the ideal Fire Fist opener. Let me take a photograph and share it with UPN later." Literally two seconds after the shutter snaps for the first picture. (See chat box.) See chat box. The two facedown S/Ts of mine were Solemn Warning (you can see me hovering over it in the first picture) and, iirc, Magic Cylinder. If not Magic Cylinder, some other exquisite trap like Compulsory Evacuation Device or Mirror Force. In other news, I helped Blaze test out a Geargia deck. Four games total played. Game 1: Blaze wins rather handily but it takes a modest while to accomplish it. Game 2: Talon wins, nothing too flashy, perfectly normal time to completion. Game 3: Talon wins ridiculously quickly and mightily. (See the pictures above.) Game 4: Blaze wins ridiculously mightily, though just as ridiculously slowly. ^^; All in all, we each won two and lost two, and we each had one mighty victory and one more modest victory. (Though even Blaze's "more modest" victory was a solid one.) I'm happy with the results. I think he should be too.

~ Geargia ~ A Story in So I have no screenshots but I can offer my commentary on it. Game 1: I open with a decent hand, manage to keep Armor on the field for a few good turns and play around with Gear Gigant X and Ragnazero. I'm actually surprised when I asked Talon if he ran into Ragnazero a lot, given how easy it is to get out and how potent it is against Fire Fists, and he said he hasn't run into it. At all. Do people just not know how good of a card it is in certain match-ups? Guess people just put in 3x Exciton Knight and 3x Number 101 and call it a day. :P Game 2: I get a pretty rubbish hand full of monsters and no backrow. This might not seem like an uncommon occurence to people when they only run maybe 8 or less traps, but I'm running a grand 15. To see only two traps the entire match made me very sad. And then watching them get popped by the mighty Gorilla made me sadder. He won pretty easily, but I still managed to get some momentum at times. Game 3: Opening hand of three Geargiarmor, Ancient Gear Box, Divine Wrath, and Geargiauger. Terrible, terrible hand and I lose very quickly. It wasn't even a contest! Game 4: The game of "let me poke here, here, and here, and maybe here." I draw an great hand full of delicious, delicious traps, a Geargiarmor, and FUCKING ANCIENT GEAR BOX OTL. And then the next...maybe 20 turns, I didn't keep track, was me poking around Talon's field of 4 set cards wondering what they were. A few traps appeared but he got a really boned hand, and when I pushed for game, bringing out Castel, Gear Gigant, Ragnazero, and Emeral, he didn't have a response. Some really tight games and might give me some ideas on how to side against future Fire Fist decks. Thanks Talon.

Oh hey, more released cards for Next Challengers. I might just take the time to talk about the ones I find interesting in the pack so far. Maybe.
Satellarknight Sirius: One of the problems with tellarknights is that you tend to go through resources pretty quickly, whether its Altair or Vega or Deneb. We got our own little themed Pot of Avarice now, though it sadly doesn't draw as much, but its far more potent than Diagusto Emeral so I can safely take that out of my Extra Deck. Satellarknight Procyon: A really meh card. I guess you can use it to get rid of excess Unukulhai but it doesn't seem that good. Phantom Knights Shadow Veil: I guess its OTK protection for Lightsworns. Seems really, really bad.

I just fought the Frankenstein deck from Hell. Guy in control was a pro-grade player. Very smooth, very calm, very professional. But his deck was unlike anything I've ever seen before. It had:
