Avoiding a potentially sticky situation by handling the bugs yourself, you opted for a faster way to break up the fight. The Scatterbug did not notice as you slowly leaned over them and place your hands on the rose bush. Careful of thorns, you firmly grabbed the thickest branches of the bush you could find, and gave them a vigorous shake. “Scraa!” Startled, the Scatterbug cried out as they lost their grip on the bush and tumbled to the ground, landing in a writhing pile. Though you were able to get them away from the flowers, the sudden change only made the bickering worse. You could see them trying to blame each other, unaware that you were the one who knocked them off of the plant. You directed Remlia to grab the attention of the remaining Scatterbug. She approached the still-fighting pile and stretched her wings out to their full span. Attempting her best Vivillion impression, she flitted back and forth. The beating of her wings must have been a familiar sound, as the small bugs all turned their heads to look at her. Satisfied that she had their full attention, the Woobat directed her new followers to the line of other Charmed bugs. They each fell into line obediently, though you noticed the final Scatterbug looking at the Pokemon in front of it rather than at Remilia. Suddenly, the Scatterbug chomped down on the other’s backside. The bitten bug let out a screech, and immediately began to run. The attacker had somehow sunk its teeth deep into the running Scatterbug’s back, and was being quite comically bounced around as the bitten Scatterbug began to flee. The pair scrambled away from the line, right under your feet, and under a thick hedge, out of sight. You now had the majority of bugs under control, though Remilia looked uneasy about continuing to hold their attention. There were plenty of other places you could take these pests that would be much safer for the garden. However, there was the case of the two escapees. They were small, but you could see how much damage was done to the blue rosebush. Who knew how much damage they could cause if they had free reign of the rest of the garden? “Woo?” Remilia inquired, hoping to know what your decision would be. |

As the Fearow readied it's next attack, Mochi got ready to dodge. Unfortunately for herself and Elka, the bird was far too quick and ended up ramming the small Skitty with a blinding Aerial Ace. Mochi shrieked in response, letting out a loud Hyper Voice that pierced the ear drums of all those around. The Fearow seemed rather taken aback, stumbling backwards slightly after hearing Mochi's ridiculously loud voice. Both Pokemon were looking a little rough, especially Mochi --- who was seemingly huffing with every breath. Elka felt extremely bad, she wished she would've used a different Pokemon --- but she certainly found Mochi's bravery in the face of adversity to be quite admirable. Elka watched the Fearow, it seemed to be readying it's next attacks. If she didn't react fast enough, she was sure that Mochi would suffer far too much damage to actually keep fighting. However, withdrawing her was out of the question, as the Fearow seemed intent on pursuing the Skitty by any means necessary. Elka looked at Mochi, letting out a deep sigh before she gave her next commands. "Mochi! I want you to Tackle that Fearow before it gets the chance to peck you! Once it's knocked back, follow it up with another harsh Hyper Voice!" Mochi gave a quick nod, knowing that her trainer would make sure that she didn't get extremely hurt. She charged at the Fearow, ready to finally strike the bird down.

"Got him there, Glass!" Alex called out positively, before the paralysis left the ground type unable to execute either gyro ball or poison jab on the angry squealing Parasect, legs wiggling around. Giving a look towards Tori, the Nidorina approached the bug and gave rather charming hand to it, which seemed to calm it, fooling it as though she was under its command, giving the three Roselia their opening. Surrounding Glasspine, the flower pokemon produced a number of green orbs which flowed into the shrew, a synthesised remedy for the paralysis as he flexed his arms and gave thanks to the Roselia, staring down the bug, then towards Tori as Alex scrutinized the mushroom, trying to find information on it, only for his face to blanch on finding what was most certainly a bite mark. "No...were we too slow? Tori?" As if on cue, the Nidorina slumped over onto the ground. This was anything but good. "Tori, no!" the trainer began to run towards the stricken poison pokemon, pointing at the Parasect and barking orders to the shocked Sandshrew, whose face of shock quickly grew into murderous anger. "Glass, no mercy! Safeguard yourself from further spores it may launch, then rip that mushroom right out from under it with aerial ace, then bury it under a rock tomb! Don't hold back, I'll see to Tori!" As he rushed for his fallen pokemon, he looked desperately at the Roselia, as though urging them to help the Sandshrew in defeating the squirming Parasect, as he reached for Tori's ball. She was bigger than the grass types and not a plant based pokemon, that was for certain, but if she fell under the effects of the mushroom he'd have no choice but to recall her for her own safety. His concern right now was ensuring she was relatively in mind with herself and not under the influence of that blasted mushroom. |

Sorry for the delay! I had finals this week but they are over now so I should be back to a more regular updating speed like I was before. Also, there is a new rule in CG where you can only have 6 Pokemon in your party per adventure that can be revealed at your own discretion. So, from here on out I will be keeping a list of the Pokemon in your party along with your updates.
------------ Kyuu-Tales – Party Pokemon (3/6): Skrelp, Litleo, Bronzor Once the Shinx disappears down the hole you stop for a moment to think. It’s not like it’s going to get away now that it’s in there, plus you also have a Pidove that seems ready to battle right in front of you. After thinking it over though, you still have your goal set on getting that tarp back! You start by telling Baian to aim a Water Gun into the burrow and that is what he prepares to do! Before he begins his attack on the burrow you release Seiza onto the field and tell them to defend the others from the Pidove! The Pidove notices that you’re up to something and prepares itself to attack before your Pokemon have a chance but suddenly it looks distracted. The Pidove is now calmly pecking at the ground around its feet as if it’s searching for bugs. Ironic, considering you had just finished ordering your Bronzor to disrupt its clarity of thought and it’s starting to look like the Pidove managed that one on its own. But still, Seiza was given a command so it still goes ahead and uses Confusion on the Pidove anyway. The attack throws the Pidove a few feet across the ground and now it’s just lying there in the grass with its little feet sticking up. It hasn’t been KOed or anything and it doesn’t seem to have been confused by the attack, it just appears to be really comfortable right now. Meanwhile, Baian uses this opportunity to fire his Water Gun directly into the den! And it looks like your idea was a success because within seconds a coughing Shinx is emerging from the den holding… Not your tarp. The Shinx is holding a much smaller Shinx in its mouth. You watch as 2 other small Shinx also follow the tarp stealing Shinx out. They are coughing and shaking, they look so scared. You don’t see the tarp at all, it must still be in that den, the Shinx must have wanted to use it in order to make the den a more comfortable place. The older Shinx puts down the small one and turns toward Baian, Leering at him super hard. It would seem this Shinx is now very angry. Aiolia goes in to Tackle the Shinx but at that exact moment you hear an out of breath womans voice yell, “Pidove…! Stop that… Litleo! Use Gust… NOW!” The Pidove instantly perks up and flips over back onto its feet. Seems it just remembered what it was supposed to be doing. Once again, it ruffles its feathers to make itself look more intimidating and then begins flapping its wings creating a stong Gust aimed directly at Aiolia! The attack works and Aiolia is thrown off his feet and begins rolling across the grass. The Shinx uses this opportunity to run in and Tackles Aiolia while he’s down. Aiolia finally regains his bearings and goes in for another Tackle this one hitting Shinx directly. “NO! Pidove! GUST!” It’s that woman’s voice again, this time you look in the direction the voice came from and you see a woman dressed in a ranger’s uniform. She is also wearing a ranger’s hat and has a brown ponytail sticking out the back. She is currently bent over with her hands on her knees as she tries to catch her breath, it’s clear she must have ran pretty hard to get here. Her Pidove once again begins to flap its wings forming a Gust, Aiolia managed to brace himself this time but the attack still seemed to hurt him. The female ranger turns her attention to you, “I don’t know what kind of person thinks it’s okay to flush a bunch of babies out of their home but I won’t stand by and allow you to hurt them anymore! They’ve been through enough already!” She turns her attention back to her Pokemon, “Pidove! Keep using Gust!” The Shinx also appears to be preparing itself to unleash another Tackle while the three tiny Shinx hide behind it shivering. What will you do? ------------ myahoo - Party Pokemon (1/6): Cyndaquil After having taken a very long break from adventuring, you now find yourself in the Cloud Garden! You squint and look up at the top of the mountain promising yourself that you will be making it up there for sure. You enjoy a casual conversation with your Cyndaquil as you make your way toward the Cloud Forest. Right now, you want to see if you can find a particular thing you are looking for so you aren’t rushing straight to the trial. Although, you will if you don’t find what you’re looking for soon. You casually stroll through the forest while keeping your eyes peeled in hopes of spotting that one thing you’ve been searching for. You’re mostly distracted as you look around until you suddenly hear rustling noises coming from behind you. Maybe it’s that thing you're after! You spin around and then everything just seems to happen so fast from there. “Quick Attack!!” a male voice cries out and next thing you know a blur of green flies out from between the trees at a very high speed and Quickly Attacks the Cyndaquil that is perched on your shoulder. Wildfire is violently thrust off of your shoulder upon impact and smashes into a tree. You hear more rustling and look toward it, now a trainer has appeared, wearing a black bandana that covers the bottom of his face. He appears to be young, maybe mid-teens. He starts to chuckle a bit and speaks up, “Looks like you’re going to have no choice but to battle me because my Scyther isn’t going to let up anytime soon! Scyther use Night Slash on it!” It would seem you have been ambushed for some unknown reason by this trainer and his Scyther. What will you do? |

Surveying the combatants, Muyo stroked his chin in contemplation. The Farfetch'd had obviously been developing its combat skill for a while, and with his rust it was turning out to be quite an intriguing match up. Still, for a Pokemon without a trainer to make such keen decisions was impressive, he definitely had potential... The defiance was a definite issue though, particularly with the fury cutters starting to come in hard and fast... Then it hit him, and he allowed himself a smile. "He'll come in quick again Yon, so use a Swift to keep tabs on his position and greet him with a Dynamicpunch once he's in range. That ought to muddle his thoughts enough for you to take advantage and blast him with a Thundershock." Almost instinctively Muyo reached his hand into his bag for a new Pokeball as he waited for Yon to carry out the plan. It wasn't certain if he'd have the opportunity to use it, but it never hurt one to be prepared... Just in case.

While Patches is on her way, Kei has caught up to Stufful and goes in for a nice big loving hug. He has no doubt in his mind that he is doing the right thing and feels nothing but joy while in the moment. Unfortunately, this didn’t go as planned and the next thing he knows he is being forced off of Stufful by the Timburr and now it seems to be even more angry! Kei can’t believe what he is seeing, how could that Timburr be so cruel? He has never felt more rejected than he does in this moment and watching the Stufful shake in fear is almost too much for him to bear. He can’t stop the tears now, his little heart is slowly breaking as he watches his Stufful friend get into more and more trouble. Kei can barely see through the tears as he lets out a Growl of frustration because he feels so useless right now. His emotions begin to slowly boil over, he doesn’t even realize it’s happening but his tail flame has been slowly increasing in size. That’s when he snaps, he can’t take it anymore! “CHARRRRR!!!” Kei is so upset his tail begins to flail around recklessly, causing Embers to disperse randomly. He doesn’t even have a particular target, he isn’t even aware he is causing a scene. Hopefully, Patches will get there soon and be able to deescalate the situation somehow!

Seiko clenched her jaw and swiped her arm. "And, well, if that doesn't convince you that I'm not your enemy... Baian, Aiolia, Seiza: return to my side and stand down. Don't make an effort to dodge Shinx's or Pidove's attacks." Being a hands-on kind of person, Seiko really hated adopting a passive strategy, even if only for a time. She generally judged it a sign of weakness, but as she scrambled to untangle her frazzled mess of thoughts, it occurred to her that it may be her only way out of this situation. As far as she could remember, the Ranger's code of conduct prohibited the harming innocents or bystanders; if she could demonstrate that she and her entourage were victims of circumstance and not the ne'er-do-wells her actions made her out to be, they might be able to avert this crisis in the making. |

Tori’s sudden collapse fueled both you and your Sandshrew’s fear and anger. You ran to her side and took the precaution of getting out her Pokeball in case she began to turn. Weakly, the Nidorina turned her head toward you and lifted a claw. One of her red eyes was slowly turning pure white. Glasspine looked toward the two of you in worry for a moment, but returned his focus to the Parasect, bristling. The Sandshrew guarded itself with a sparkling light colored aura, preventing the next Stun Spore the Parasect sent from affecting him. With a raged cry, he swiftly delivered an Aerial Ace to his opponent. The Parasect threw it’s frozen arm up to protect its face, Glasspine’s claw making direct contact with it. The ice shattered, and the Parasect hissed as small pieces of it embedded themselves into the Bug-type’s exoskeleton. Without hesitation, Glasspine used its mastery over the ground to unearth several large rocks. The three friendly Roselia scattered, taking shelter behind you and Tori. The Parasect could only watch in horror as it was encased in a tomb. Glasspine panted as he observed his work, satisfied that he had put an end to the Mushroom Pokemon. The three Roselia peeked their tiny heads from around your side and, when they felt safe enough, went to tend to their fallen comrades. The Roselia who had consumed the mushrooms lay unmoving, as did your Nidorina. Though the Parasect seemed to no longer be a threat, its victims were not improving. “Oh! Oh dear…” came a gentle but worried voice. You looked to see a young woman approaching the scene. She was short in stature, light brown hair neatly tied up with a bandana. The Roselia, noticing a friendly face, clamored towards her and tugged on her apron in distress. She knelt down to meet them, holding her hands out. “What’s wrong, dears? Are you ok?” The Roselia talked over each other, trying their hardest to explain what had been going on. They frantically pointed from you, to your Pokemon, to the pile of rocks containing the Parasect. The young woman, obviously not understanding the whole story, looked to you. “Are you alright? I heard a commotion and came over as soon as I could…” She trailed off as she observed the area, which was now battle-worn and torn up from Glasspine’s attacks. Her focus returned to you and your Nidorina. “What happened? I’ve never seen the Roselia so worked up like this before.” |

"I know we came back here to look into the trial, Jun," Hiero started, "but I honestly just can't help myself. What do you say we check it out?" Junpei looked at Hiero, but for a moment, did not respond. Finally, it relaxed its demeanor a bit before finally shrugging its shoulders. "Hera." Hiero stood for a moment and listened further, trying to determine the nature of the sound. "It could be anything. It could be a Pokemon, it could be a person. It could even be something else entirely. It's pretty hard to say." Hiero unzipped his backpack and pulled out a bottle of water he had taken from the cabin. He took a sip of the water and offered some to Heracross, who opted to decline. He screwed the cap back on and put the bottle back into his pack. "Well then... let's check it out... and then we'll head over to the Woodcutter's Cabin afterward." Hiero turned down the path that led to the west and began to walk briskly. The Heracross spread its wings and began to hover a few feet off of the ground, slowly following behind Hiero and once again remaining on guard.

Naruxami:
Elka grew more and more nervous by each minute that passed in this battle, but as Mochi hung in there tough she tried her best to match her Skitty’s bravery with her own composure as to not let her partner down in battle. Mochi had taken quite a few hits so far, but she had dished out the damage onto the Fearow as well. As the Skitty attempted to catch her breath, she listened intently for Elka to call out her strategy for the next round. Elka did just that, offering some attacks for Mochi to use against the Fearow, and Mochi nodded, preparing herself for battle once more. Mochi squared off against the Fearow once more, as the bird Pokemon cocked its head back in preparation to unleash an attack with its big, sharp beak. While Fearow itself is a fast Pokemon, it isn’t as fast as a Skitty on land and Mochi darted forward to fling her small body at the Fearow. Her Tackle hit the Fearow square in the chest as Mochi knocked the bird backwards. The Fearow thrust its beak forward, but the Peck only grazed Mochi’s side. Mochi then opened her mouth and let out another piercing Hyper Voice that shook the bird and everyone else in the area. Breathing very heavily, the Fearow hit Mochi in Pursuit, but seeing as the Skitty wasn’t fleeing in any fashion, the attack had little time to build up momentum. At this point, while Mochi is still breathing heavily, Fearow is looking much worse off. Another solid attack or two might be enough to finish it off. Meanwhile, Mochi has used up a considerable amount of energy and her throat is starting to get quite exhausted. Fearow in a last ditch effort prepares itself for a finishing move. What will Elka do? Jerichi: As amused as Lucas was by the Pokemon diplomacy of the Rose Garden, as Petunia and he stumbled across a literal turf war between two of the fluffiest inhabitants of the garden, he decided that it was probably best to avoid unnecessary conflict. The hedges around them were riddled with bullets of seeds and clumps of cotton spores were draped over the shrubbery. Lucas stuck close to Horologie and began to look for a way to go around this mess. Seeing his intentions, Petunia waved him over to a path that headed south. “It’s a bit of a detour, but if we head into the center of the garden, we can approach the Lily sector from that way.” The two of them along with Horologie in tow began to head south directly on the border of the two opposing areas of the garden. As they walked, Petunia explained to Lucas that there are actually four main areas of the Rose Garden, each one containing its own ruler. These four regents were once the companions of the original owner of the garden, who has been away for a long time. The owner’s family was quite wealthy, so they owned real estate all over the world. As a large white building came into sight, Petunia explained that the four areas are met in the middle by a large gazebo where events are held sometimes. The gazebo itself was an art-piece of architecture, octagonal in shape and made out of wood, it was painted white and had vines going up trellises on the support posts. It was elevated as well with a staircase five steps high leading up to the main platform. Since they were already here, the two of them headed up the stairs to look around. There were a lot of patio furniture neatly decorated around the circumference of the gazebo, all covered with white upholstery, and in the middle sat a large white chaise lounge. Laying on top of the chaise was a young girl fast asleep. Looking to be around twelve years in age, the young girl has long sandy-blonde hair that has been washed and brushed out impeccably. She wears a long white sundress while her sandals lay on the floor and her wide-brimmed white sun hat sits on a small table next to the chaise. The girl clutches a book over her stomach as she sleeps. Beside her pillow hovers a Musharna which remains motionless as it seemingly uses its dream mist to pass pleasant dreams onto the girl. Sensing the presence of the visitors, the Musharna hovers around to the other side of the girl, severing the connection of dream mist between the two in the process. The girl immediately lets out a yawn and groggily sits up halfway and props herself up with her elbows. “Oh, Miss Primrose! Sorry to interrupt your nap,” Petunia greeted and then leaned in Lucas’ direction. “This is Primrose Nightingale, she is the heiress of this garden,” she whispered as an aside. Sitting up fully now, Primrose held her book in her lap and gazed at the guests through sleepy eyes. “It’s a tragic story, you know,” she began while glancing down at her book, “The one about the exiled princess. All because the queen was worried by the prophecy that the princess’ beauty would surpass her own someday.” Primrose yawned once again, but covered her mouth politely as she did so. She leaned back on the chaise as her head rested on the pillow once more and her eyes shut. She began to mumble a few more incoherent words about her fairy tale, but the only ones Lucas could make out were “…that miraculous… magic seed…” before she dozed back off into her slumber. The dream mist connection between her and Musharna opened back up. Petunia smiled nervously. “Well, we should probably let her sleep for now,” she whispered, “Let’s see what we can do about the seed first and then maybe we can come back later. From what I know about Liligant’s domain, she’s a bit of a hoarder and she keeps a sort of treasure room hidden away somewhere. Would you rather we go ask her directly about a seed or go snoop around for her treasure room?” Once again, Petunia had that glint in her eye and the slightest of smiles on her face that showed how much she enjoyed the drama amongst the garden. She awaited Lucas’ answer. Muyotwo: As the battle carried on, Muyo was impressed by the skill and the guile of the Farfetch’d swordsman. He noticed that as the two combatants tired each other out, Kennegi was beginning to gain momentum from his Defiant ability and his Fury Cutter strikes compounding their damage upon Yon Elekid. In order to mitigate further damage, Muyo sought a strategy that could hopefully end the battle soon. When he was ready, he called it out to Yon Elekid, who gladly listened. Just as Muyo had predicted, Kennegi looked to continue his assault of Fury Cutter on Yon Elekid. As Kennegi drew closer with his leek raised, Yon Elekid fired off a flurry of small Swift stars which pursued and connected with their target, causing Kennegi to miss his strike. While the opportunity was perfect, Yon Elekid pumped back his fist and collected a giant amount of energy. He swung a Dynamic Punch with everything he had, but just barely missed the Farfetch’d who ducked away at the last moment. Seeing his own opportunity to try and finish things, Kennegi held his leek in his bill and got himself a flying start. As the Farfetch’d flew at Yon Elekid, his body enveloped in a blue flame, the signature finishing move of many bird Pokemon. However, as he collided into Yon Elekid with a Brave Bird attack, the electric Pokemon was ready, countering with a Thunder Shock. The collision kicked up a lot of dirt and dust into the air, and as it began to settle, Muyo could spot a recoiling Kennegi and a Yon Elekid who was barely standing. “This battle is over,” Samuel announced, his first words since the battle began. “Yon Elekid is the victor, by a hair!” Muyo looked down at the combatants. Yon Elekid a panting very heavily with his hands on his knees while Kennegi leaned against his leek which was planted straight up in the ground. Even though he was still standing, the Farfetch’d was barely conscious. “I’ve got to say, that was a heck of a battle! I was entranced from start to finish,” Samuel added. Yon Elekid gains 2 levels! While Yon Elekid slowly walked over to put up his Knocked-Off item, Muyo pulled out a Pokeball. He had clearly recognized Kennegi’s warrior spirit and was curious if the Farfetch’d would join him on his journey. As the trainer was about to toss the ball, the Farfetch’d snapped out of his stupor and held up a wing in order to halt Muyo. He raised his leek in the air, first pointing it up at the great mountain of the Cloud Garden, Mt. Zephyria, above them and then pointed it at Muyo before ‘sheathing’ the leek under his wing. Kennegi then sat down and took a deep sigh, exhausted from the battle. “I think he means that he’s got some unfinished business up the mountain,” Samuel said with a smile, “Until then, I’m sure he would gladly follow you as a proxy as long as you’re willing to help him see this through ‘till the end.” From the looks of it, this wandering duck has decided that it’s time to wander no more. His sights are set on the mountain above, but until Muyo was ready to take on the trial challenges he would wait patiently and hone his skills. What will Muyo do next? [Kennegi is available to assist only in Cloud Garden Trial Challenges at this time. He is lv.15, has the Defiant ability, and knows EM Quick Attack.] Patches: Although she was disappointed that her capture of Pancham was a failure, Patches had to force herself to move on, because there were more pressing matters at hand. Thanking Mio for a hard-fought battle, she scooped the tired Pikachu up in her arms. As Ciri the Swablu circled back towards her trainer, she chirped a few times to indicate that she had found something. With her trainer now in tow, Ciri began to lead Patches in the direction of the small wooded area. Meanwhile, things were getting just as frustrating for Kei as they were for Patches. He attempted to comfort the Stufful with only the purest of intentions, but that seemed to get the poor bear cub in more trouble with the Timburr, who did not seem pleased by the intruder’s presence at all. Timburr shoved Kei off of Stufful with a forceful push, causing Kei to Growl in anguish and then threw a small temper tantrum by flickering Embers around with his tail. At this point, the Mankeys have stopped their sparring match to come see what all of the commotion is about. To their surprise, this Charmander is about to start a small forest fire in their shabby wooden dojo. Jumping out of the ring, they scurried about to stamp out the small flames that had sprouted around the area. By now, Timburr was quite livid while Stufful was shaking where he stood. Prodding Kei with his wooden plank, Timburr tried to get the Charmander’s attention and get him to stop flailing. “Tim… burr!” it angrily exclaimed, gesturing to the slightly charred burn marks on their dojo. He yelled at Kei that because of the damages, Stufful’s debt was about to go way up. Unless Kei wants to take Stufful’s place in the fighting tournament, that is. Timburr angrily pointed to the fighting ring, indicating that if Kei wanted to make a scene, he better do it in the ring. As he waited for his trainer to join back up with him, Kei now faced a decision. Dare he take Stufful’s place in the fighting ring? Deoxys: As the sun set over the Cloud Garden, the shadows grew larger over the trees by the minute. Hiero faced a decision as he stood at a literal fork in the road. Should he just go straight to the woodcutter’s cabin, or dare he investigate the loud THWACKING noises he heard in the other direction? In the end, curiosity got the better of him, and Hiero and Junpei decided to go check the sound out. The path to the west was barely a blazed trail with tons of underbrush impeding their way. However, Hiero knew he was going the right way as he followed the sounds. As they got closer and closer, the noises stopped, probably alerted by the rustling through the woods that Hiero and Junpei were making. As they entered a clearing, they came face to face with a large man holding an axe. “Whoa there,” the man greeted with a sigh, “It’s just a traveler. You startled me there for a minute.” He was a burly man with a thick red beard, red hair, and a red plaid flannel shirt. “Did you possibly get lost? Or were you investigating the noise I was making? I’m Samuel Flint, by the way,” he continued, setting his axe down against a tree and extending a hand to shake. “As you can see, this here is the site of one of the Cloud Garden trials and I’m its captain. If you’re considering taking in the challenge, why don’t you help me carry some of this firewood back to my cabin and we can go over the details in the morning. You’re welcome to stay the night.” Looking around the clearing, visibility was getting worse as the shadows continued to creep across the forest. Hiero could spot a massive fallen tree which had many cuts on it and slivers of wood had been sawed off. Samuel had been chopping up one of those slivers in order to make firewood. As Samuel began to collect the firewood, should Hiero choose to take him up on his offer, or would he rather explore the forest a bit at night?

Frustration was getting the better of Rorik, who for all his studies and his theories and his published work couldn't seem to figure out a simple nursery rhyme. His search had been thorough, meticulous and he had an assistant to boot! However, to make matters worse, that very assistant seemed to have forgotten how to walk all of a sudden. "Oh for Arceus's sake..." Sighing, Professor Pine walked over to the faller starfish who'd just tripped down the steps for whatever reason, lying face down on the ground along with its remaining dignity. Rorik dropped to one knee and helped the Water-Type up, then watched as it resumed its silent search with no apparent difficulties. Strange, that... I scoured every inch of this shrine already, and nothing turned up. Could it be that the answer isn't inside the building at all? There was something about the way the riddle was phrased... His heart racing, Rorik unrolled the slip of paper again and re-read the entire text two more times, then shifted his gaze back to Staryu, then back at the parchment... could it be? "H-hey, Staryu? Come back here," he suddenly said out loud. "Why did you trip down and fall?" As he spoke, he brought his face closer to the ground, ignoring the dust on his glasses and taking a better look at the wooden steps where his partner had seemingly lost its footing. "The next hint's the first step too..."

Melissa huffed, amused. "Last one. I promise." Wildfire hummed skeptically. "No, seriously! We can look for a different kind of Pokémon next time Maybe...a Dragon?" "Cyndaquil cynda," Wildfire pointed out wryly. "True. How 'bout a Fairy then? I don't think we have many, if any, of those yet." Wildfire made a thoughtful noise, but didn't get a chance to voice his thoughts. A sudden rustling noise from behind the pair had Melissa spinning around to try to spot the source of the noise, only to get caught off guard by an ambush. "Quick Attack!!" There was a moment's disappointment as she registered the human voice and then she flinched, jerking away from whatever it was that was attacking them. Wildfire wasn't so lucky; the green blur managed to knock him off Melissa's shoulder and smashed him into a tree, making him squeal in surprise and pain. Melissa scowled at the younger trainer making his way out of the brush, even as her heart abruptly clenched at Wildfire's pain, especially when he chuckled. "Looks like you're going to have no choice but to battle me because my Scyther isn't going to let up anytime soon! Scyther use Night Slash on it!" "What is your problem?" Melissa demanded, glancing over at where Wildfire was shaking his head and glaring. "Do you just randomly attack people wandering through the forest for fun?" "Quil!" Wildfire set his flames blazing and braced himself for a battle, which told Melissa that he was just as annoyed as she was. "Wildfire, Swift, Aerial Ace, and Crush Claw."

'You can do it, Mochi!' Shouted Pascal, although only audible to the small pink cat, she felt extremely grateful of her teammate's faith in her. She mewled out a thank you, her eyes never leaving the bird; who looked like it was getting ready for a strong attacks in the hopes of knocking Mochi out and finishing the battle to ensure it's prey was defenceless. Speaking of prey, the Teddiursa was maintaining it's grip on the bark of the tree, watching the tiny cat battle the monstrous bird. Elka knew full well that this was the bird's intention, although Mochi looked a little stronger than the Fearow at this point, a strong attack would probably finish her off. She eyed the Fearow, it was certainly looking war-torn. Mochi could probably finish it off with a few solid attacks, and the Skitty looked more than willing to do so. "Alright Mochi! It's time to end this. Back up a few feet and start with a Hyper Voice to daze it and throw it's prep into the trash! Once it's dazed, run up for a final Tackle!" Elka commanded her Pokemon with ease, Pascal was impressed --- his trainer barely had experience outside of her bedroom in a general sense but this was almost like second nature to her. Mochi gave a nod, opening her mouth and preparing to blast the Fearow. ---------------------------------- Also registering for the event in this post for ease~ Trainer Name: Elka Shang Partner Pokemon (Please state no more than four and no less than one, Attacks/Stats not needed): Pascal (Eevee)Please list the following themes in order of importance (1 Being Most-Important, 4 Being Least Important): Cool, Cute, Elegant, Unique 1. Jessica squinted about her surroundings, feeling a sense of strangeness at being so... "grounded", so to speak. She had thought the place seemed much more... "airborne" the last time she was here. In fact, she was certain there had been a towering sky gate high above the clouds, with a multicolored mobile leading most prominently away from it. A road of rainbows and remembrance. Reunion. The very start of her journey, of her memory. ...But there was no such path to be sighted, an absent avenue. (Even the lane to lament lost memorials seemed to be missing as well.) Again, that creeping unease at the seeming gaps in her history struck her heart, an ache for times long past, and confusion at how much had appeared to have changed without her notice. She felt a tug at her pants leg, and looked down to see three grassy creatures gazing up at her with worried expressions. She smiled as she bent down to relieve their anxieties, patting the Chikorita, Sewaddle, and Petilil in turn. Hoshiko. Iris. Lilac. She recalled she had brought the trio to a setting similar to this one (or rather, the floating island that existed only now in her imagination, a vague recollection from far away; like a distant fairytale dream). Swallowing to suppress nostalgia, she stood and looked around in search for the "other" singular presence that was not the "same" as before. The Budew had wandered down by the river, watching the sparkling stream burble and laugh along, ebulliently skipping stones. As the young rapids radiated away from the waterfall, cascading and crashing forth like frothing fireworks, they seemed to settle down with age and wisdom, murmuring more lazily and ladylike as they spread and spilled with a gentle sigh into the waiting lake. Like a mother's warmth welcoming back to her womb. Lance was one of her newer teammates, but in terms of temporal status he had technically already been with her for a long time. Yet, like many of her other more recent members, their levels of interaction had been sorely lacking. (She had not even had a chance to sketch his caricature likeness yet in her scrapbook, something for which she was increasingly sorry for.) And so she aimed to remedy that now. Approaching the small seedling, she stooped down to ask: "What do you think, Lance? Where would you like to go first?" The kernel cocked his head, deliberating for a moment as he cast in each direction, sniffing as he seemed to taste the air. There was a distinct sweetness wafting on the wind, coming from what appeared to be a magnificent garden full of flowers and fruit trees. Jessica glanced down at the brochure pamphlet she'd picked up at the Pokémon Center to look up the location's name: The Rose Garden. How quaintly apt. And... familiar, somewhat. Although... something still felt "off" about the image somehow, even though she couldn't quite put her finger on it. Wasn't there supposed to be an "arch" of some sort...? Shaking her head, she pocketed the guide packet and decided to place her trust in Lance's judgment, letting him lead the way to their destination. It was clear why he was attracted to such a scenic site, and Jess felt her own self relax to reconcile some sort of connection between the blurry, fragmented photos in her mind and their current manifestations (or at least the closest approximation she could find at the moment). Maskerade:
You felt your aggravation growing and beginning to take over your mind. You had gone through the proper schooling, had done countless hours of research, yet this simple riddle had stumped you. To top it all off, your assistant who you had just come to rely on had taken an embarrassing spill down the stairs. The event had interrupted your train of thought, which at first had been an annoyance, but then… You excitedly realized you were on the edge of a breakthrough. You just needed to review the riddle once more, making sure you really were on to something. The line suddenly stood out to you, as if it had been highlighted, bolded, italicized, and underlined. The step! You called your Pokemon back, who begrudgingly returned to your side, disappointed that it had not yet found anything. The Water-type watched as you leaned in towards the wooden step, inspecting it carefully. To an untrained eye, it may have looked like an ordinary step, the wood warped a bit with age. However, you were a professor, and you knew your observation skills were incredibly sharp. You placed your hand on the step, moving it slowly across its surface. Your fingernail caught on an indent, a splinter finding its way into your finger. You bared the pain as you lifted a piece of wood up, and revealed a hollow opening. “HYA! HYA!” Staryu cried in excitement of your findings. You reached into the opening and pulled out a rolled-up piece of paper, identical to the one you had found before. You carefully unrolled it, and Staryu came to your side to read over your shoulder. The text, written in the same handwriting, read: Quote:

Far from finished, the Sandshrew then tapped into his geofamiliar skills to bring a number of boulders erupting from the ground, the Roselia quickly running behind Alex and waning Tori as the ground type forced the rocks around and over the upside down bug, effectively containing it and trapping it within the tomb. The threat was over for now, but the danger had yet to pass as the flower pokemon peered from behind their barrier and ran to tend to their incapacitated comrades. Alex looked around the vicinity, there were holes here and there and the area looked as though it would take weeks to recover, Glasspine waddling back to his trainer and companion, worried for the motionless Nidorina. She was at least breathing, which was a positive, but completely incapacitated, and as the human racked his brains trying to think of a potential remedy to the situation, he heard a female voice. Turning to the source, he found the Roselia had run up to a concerned young woman, who seemed to know the grass types and vice versa as they attempted to explain the situation over each other. As she took in the damaged landscape, she asked the rather obvious question of what happened, as Alex held the bagged mushroom in his hand still, having kept a tight grip on it throughout. "Sorry about this, ma'am. Me and my pokemon had came here in a sorta bonding exercise when we were drawn to an aroma from somewhere. It turns out it was the work of a Parasect," he motioned towards the rockpile trapping the bug, "which had lured the Roselia and my group here, and kept them under some sort of hypnotic trance. It sprouted mushrooms and urged the pokemon to eat them, after which they went, well, sorta zombified and under the control of the Parasect. We managed to break the hold over three of them, and have the bug under control, but my Nidorina also took a bite of one, and she's not in a good way at all. I've got one of the mushrooms bagged here..." "Glass, try and fix up the terrain here and there with a rototiller to even the ground out a little and make it more arable for growth. I don't suppose you've much idea what kinda mushroom this is, and if there's a remedy for whatever's got them like this? I feel I owe the Roselia my support for saving them, and above all else, my own pokemon's health is important...I kinda lost it when she went down." ------- Chucking my hat into the event too. Trainer name: Alex Blackhall. Partner Pokemon: Aipom, Ferroseed, Garchomp, Sandshrew. Listing the following in order of importance: Elegant, Unique, Cool, Cute. |

Welcome to the group, lilblue! I hope you enjoy. :P
Naruxami: As her Skitty’s first Pokemon battle neared a close, Elka cheered Mochi on with words of encouragement. Pascal joined in, mewing out excitedly for Mochi to hear. Mochi mewed back and smiled happily between heavy breaths as she attempted to catch her breath and prepare for another round of battle. As the Fearow looked like it was about to unleash a finishing move out of sheer desperation, Elka honed her focus on the task at hand and thought up a strategy for Mochi to counter it. Mochi listened intently to her trainer’s plans and steeled herself for whatever the Fearow would bring next. Flapping its wings, Fearow cawed loudly and took to the air. As Mochi took a step back and readied herself, Fearow tucked its wings and plunged forward, spinning rapidly. Fearow connected with the earth, kicking up soil in every direction while its Drill Run drew ever closer to the small Skitty. Mochi took a deep breath and bellowed out her best Hyper Voice to blast the charging bird backwards. Like a top knocked off its axis, the Fearow spun out of control and rolled scross the grass violently. Before it could get up, Mochi pounced on the opportunity, Tackling it in the gut. As the dust settled, the Fearow lay motionless below the panting Skitty, completely unconscious. Mochi has gained 3 Levels! With the imminent danger now over, Elka and her Pokemon could finally breathe a sigh of relief. Mochi was quite exhausted at this point and could probably use a long rest. Now that she could reassess the situation, Elka turned her attention to the Teddiursa. However, while her attention had been taken off of the young cub, it had left its cowardly perch on the tree branch. Looking around frantically, she could spot it a short distance away pushing its picnic basket along down the hill as it tried to make its escape. What will Elka do? Jerichi: While he listened to Primrose sleepily mumble about fairytales that bore a striking resemblance to his current situation before falling back asleep, Lucas hoped to hear more clues about what he should do next, but the opportunity faded with the heiress’ consciousness. Giving up for now, he joined Petunia as they exited the gazebo. Maybe he’ll have a chance to hear more of the story later, but for now it was time to break from his detour and head up to Liligant’s domain in the northeast. The two of them left the central area of the garden with Horologie in tow and made their way into Liligant’s domain. Unlike the rose-filled area they had been in before, there was a much more wild beauty to the landscaping in this area. The flower beds were filled with flowers of all different shapes and colors, and there were a few Petilil and Cottonee scattered about the beds happily soaking in the sunlight. Some Ledyba buzzed about here and there, enjoying the atmosphere as any visitor would. Happy to be along for the ride, Petunia posed Lucas with a selection of options on how to handle his current task. He could either approach Liligant directly as he had with Roserade, or perhaps Lucas could snoop around in Liligant’s treasure room. Not thinking himself much of a thief, Lucas decided that it was probably a safer option to settle things with the queen of the lilies directly. He asked Petunia for some advice on how to best handle his audience with the queen. “Hmm,” Petunia responded, pressing her index finger to her lips while in thought. “I would say that it’s best to be up front with her. She doesn’t take kindly when she thinks people are hiding things from her. If she does open up to you, I would warn you to not get too greedy with her offers.” As she finished talking, they had arrived at Liligant’s throne area, which appeared in stark contrast to the one where Roserade resided. While Roserade’s throne area was very organized and precise, the flowerbeds were very linear and focused on the queen. In contrast, Liligant’s throne room was a spacious, circular area, where the queen’s flowerbed lie in the middle and was surrounded by smaller flowerbeds of Petilil in every direction. The queen herself had her back turned to the visitors, busily attending to one of her children. “Your majesty,” Petunia spoke up, quietly clearing her throat to catch Liligant’s attention. The flower queen turned around to eye Lucas up and down. What would he do? lilbluecorsola: It had been quite some time since Jessica last set foot in the Cloud Garden. While some things resonated in her memory, some others appeared quite different from her recollection. Either way, there was a tranquil atmosphere in the air around her; each breath of the fresh air felt like a treat to the lungs. A warm summer breeze swirled around the riverbank where Jessica stood along with her Pokemon. A quartet of small Grass-Typed Pokemon accompanied her; a Chikorita named Hoshiko, a Sweaddle named Iris, and a Petilil named Lilac looked up at their trainer expectantly while a Budew named Lance seemed more interested in the Starline River that bubbled calmly downstream. Bending down in order to interact with her young sapling, Jessica gave Lance the choice of selecting where the five of them would embark on their adventure in this familiar yet different land. Lance sniffed the summer air, catching a whiff of the passing breeze that blew off the lake. There was something sweet in the air that smelled of pollen and fruit, and upon further inspection, Jessica’s map seemed to indicate there was a garden not too far off to the north. Another hazy wave of nostalgia wafted past Jessica as she remembered something similar in her past. Satisfied with his decision, Lance boldly led the way while Jessica, Hoshiko, Iris, and Lilac followed behind the Budew towards the Rose Garden. As they arrived, the garden itself was quite exquisite; rows of hedges and beautifully decorated flowerbeds seemed to stretch as far as the eye could see. The garden itself looked like something one would expect to find at a palace or castle, but there was no royalty that resided in the Cloud Garden. This garden was in fact a gift for all of the residents of the quaint Galea Town and visitors of the Cloud Garden to enjoy. The original architect no longer lived here, but it remained as her love letter to her favorite travel destination. Taking a look around the entrance of the garden, Jessica noticed that there was a buzz of activity in the air. A number of volunteers who helped out in the garden seemed to be preparing for some sort of event. A flyer posted on the signpost at the entrance described a festival of flowers including a promise of fun activities to take place. Seeing as the timing was perfect, Jessica and her Pokemon proceeded into the garden to check things out. As they gazed up and down the rows of flowers, a soft melody seemed to fill Jessica and her Pokemon’s ears. Deciding to investigate the source, the group walked about the area until the song grew louder and louder. However, the closer they got, the more apparent it was that the melody was off-key. When they finally got close enough, they spotted a small gathering of flowers practicing a Lucky Chant in order to bring prosperity and good fortunes to the coming festival, albeit practicing was the key word. Upon closer inspection, the flowers weren’t entirely flowers as there were an array of tiny white pixies sitting on top of the flowers singing their hearts out. Before them hovered another little green fairy with a long flower-covered tail. Her body seemed to be waving back and forth, matching the wavelength of the melody. The little white pixies on the flowers sounded off their notes, fa, so, la, ti, before there was an abrupt pause and conductor came to a halt. She had a concerned look on her face. It was now up to Jessica whether or not she wished to ascertain the source of their troubles.

The five followed the fresh fragrance, blowing on the summer breeze as they traveled beside the babbling brook, which wound back and forth like a mischievous serpent, twinkling with temptation to trip and tumble into its cool, inviting waters. Recalling both Iris and Lilac had once done just that the last time they visited such a similar fairytale fountain, she kept a careful eye on their footing to ensure they stayed close to shore, and didn't wind up taking another dip in the drenching pool. Meanwhile her Budew boldly led the way to sounder scenery, diverging from the river's route as they redirected towards the garden, away from the turgid torrents of the mountain's waterfall base. Their effervescent companion seemed to almost wave goodbye, bidding the party farewell and safe passage before continuing on its own journey, slithering up the mysterious mountainside to scale its lofty heights, vanishing into the cloud canopy above. The group carried on their way to the greener side of the pasture, attracted by its aroma of pollen mixed with peace. As they entered the enclosure, their eyes widened at the magnificent sight, marveling at the dutifully maintained hedges (many trimmed into a myriad of impressive shapes, carefully crafted to simulate Pokémon themselves) and flowerbeds in full bloom. Beauty blossomed all around them, a garden truly fit for a queen. A volunteer abruptly brushed past them then, seeming busy with helping his associates aid in setting up some kind of event. Jess was too shy to try to interrupt and ask what they were preparing for, but luckily a flyer posted near the entry answered most of her questions: A festival was to soon be held, which was in fact a royal bout to determine who was best suited to represent lady Evangeline's memory, the "fairest of them all" - and thus be crowned the true flower queen of the land. As if on cue, another assistant handed her a sign-up sheet, and Jess quickly glanced to her comrades for confirmation before keenly filling out the form with her and her partners' names. The sheet also seemed to include a strange survey at the bottom, and after mulling for a minute, marked down her decisions. Passing the paper back to the attendant, he bowed to politely thank her for her interest in participation, before bustling off again. "Well then," Jess turned to her compatriots, "Shall we take a look around while we wait for them to finish setting up the festivities?" A chorus of agreement rang out, and so they set off on a march through the maze. The exquisiteness of the area took their breath away, all manner of exotic specifies of flora flanking their path, likely imported from around the world. Jess felt like Alice in Wonderland, having been whisked away to a fairytale dream after all. She was suddenly snapped out of her reverie by a song - one that, for lack of a better word, felt mildly "off" in the same manner she had experienced upon first arrival to this locale. She glimpsed each of her escorts in turn: Hoshiko and Lilac, being the most musically inclined, had noticed the off-beat rhythm off the bat, and while the former had presumably plugged her hearing holes with her vines, the latter unfortunately had no such appendages easily available, and so Iris patted her poor pal in consolation. Her most recent recruit was in a similar situation, wrinkling his nose with repugnant distaste for such an aural assault to his eardrums, the tops of his twin buds twisting together tight in agony. Despite their shared discomfort, curiosity got the better of them as they determined to investigate the source of the singing, each putridly pitched note growing more pronounced as they progressed. A decomposed composition. Eventually they came upon a gathering of what appeared to be tiny white pixies floating on flower stems, an image that again felt eerily familiar to Jess, reminding of the time she had brought Link and Mary to watch such a similar performance (only of a more visual movement persuasion, thankfully). Again, that ache of unfulfillment stabbed at her breast, for she could not even recall how that magical evening had ended... Mary, Mary, quite contrary... She mused to herself to distract, thinking that the Mareep might indeed enjoy a frolicking foray through another flowery field, but given how sheepish she was around strangers and crowds, Jess wasn't sure now would be the best time to introduce her to so many new creatures at once. On that note, there was a strange being she herself had never seen before hovering in front of the orchestra, apparently attempting to (unsuccessfully) conduct the melody. It looked like some sort of green sprite, with a long tail extending from its back, upon which a number of colorful clusters were weaved, resembling a garland wreath or lei (like the daisy chains her younger sister used to make for her). A rich scent of sweetness wafted from its petals, which shook in time to the tune. As said so-called "harmony" (more like a harpy's wail at this point, a mythical banshee's scream rather than a lovely siren call) strained to attain the high sharps, reaching a shrieking crescendo that could shatter glass, all the unanticipated audience winced and covered their ears to defend against the audacious audio (to the best of their ability). Cringing at the cacophony as well, the chromatic critter in charge coughed and cut the concert short, grimly shaking her head with an expression of clear concern. The fae fidgeted nervously, rustling in evident frustration at their inability to get it right. It was obvious their "practice" session wasn't going very well. Hoshi and Lilac tutted, taking pity on the pathetic choir. The Chikorita pulled out her own ocarina, while the other took Iris by the leaf, eager to lend their expertise by example. Lance likewise had little love for anything "ugly", and wished to rectify the situation as well, joining Jess as he nudged his somewhat reserved Trainer towards the fairy folk to bravely address them: "Ah, excuse me..." Jess rubbed her neck awkwardly, always uncomfortable with initiating conversation even to nonhuman kind, let alone be so brazen as to correct their methods - but Lance's stern look rooted her to the spot. "I couldn't help but notice you all seem to having some trouble... Is there anything we can help with?"

Being back in battle was a roller coaster of emotion. Muyo had winced visibly when the Dynamic Punch he'd attempted to bait Kennegi into was evaded by the slimmest of margins, but was now exultant as Yon Elekid stood tired but triumphant over the fencing fowl, who still clung to the leek- but seemingly not to consciousness. "Well done Yon. It's been a while for both of us, so nice to knock off a little rust." Muyo said with a grin as he took aim and a bit of a windup before starting to throw the Pokeball at Kennegi when the defeated duck snapped the Leek up in his wing up to point at the mountain above, then to Muyo before slumping down once more. The meaning was clear, that he could not simply join the team while his honor was still damaged from the defeat at the hands of his rival, and Samuel seemed to echo the sentiment. "All right Kennegi, have it your way. We'll consider you more of a free agent for now, but remember I've got your Bird rights." Muyo cracked, causing DeKlars to roll its compass once again. "If you keep doing that you'll never know where North is," Muyo told the Dhelmise before turning back to Samuel. "I suppose I should get up that mountain to see what all the fuss is about, thank you for officiating." Muyo said with a smile before returning Yon Elekid to his Pokeball. There would be more to it than simply climbing the mountain, he was sure. Things in the garden always had a way of getting complicated, though perhaps now at least they might be a bit less wicked. It couldn't hurt to ask the fellow who was already here. "I don't suppose you know what I need to do to get up that Mountain, do you? Probably collect 6 pixie dust or make 7 combos or something." Kyuu-Tales - “Wait, wait, there’s been some kind of misunderstanding!” You shout as you wave your hands in front of you. The ranger decides to hear you out and after listening she turns toward her Pidove to tell him to stand down too. However, it would seem that it's completely unnecessary since he apparently already forgot the situation and is pecking away at the ground again. The wild Shinx though, has other ideas and continues to go through with the Tackle it had planned, Aiolia follows his orders and makes no attempt to dodge and is hit directly causing him to tumble across the ground a bit. Aiolia is starting to look quite worn down at this point but he still stays strong and gets back onto his feet. “Shinx, please stop this!” The ranger tells the Shinx to stop which only causes it to show its teeth and growl at her. It has decided it has had enough of this and picks up the cub it carried out of the den and encourages the other two to run ahead while the Shinx follows. They take off over the hill, but this area is so open you don’t really lose sight of them as they create some distance.
“I’m sorry I jumped to conclusions because I let my emotions get the better of me. This place is open for trainers to interact with the wild Pokemon, it’s just that I’ve been keeping an eye on this family since the cubs were born and my heart has been breaking for them.” She walks over to her Pidove and kneels down patting him on the head before looking back at you. “My name is Kamri, I’m a ranger but I was only hired very recently. Watching that family was one of the first things I’ve done here. That Shinx is actually not the parent to those cubs, it had just noticed that they were alone and has been taking care of them ever since.” It would seem you have gained her trust because now she is being very friendly while telling you what she knows about the family of Shinx. “Those cubs were born right after I was hired, which was around 5 weeks ago now. Their mother is a Luxio and they were doing great until three days ago. You see, the Luxio actually had four cubs, but one morning when I arrived to watch them there were only three and the Luxio seemed very panicked. She was raising them in that gathering of trees over there but after one went missing she came out here and dug out this den, putting the three remaining cubs inside of it and then left, I assume in search of her missing cub.” She points to the west where you can see a small gathering of trees in the distance, as she explains the story her voice occasionally goes quiet, it’s clear she feels some guilt over this. “I should have followed her but I was worried about the cubs so I kept watch, right around the end of my shift was when that Shinx showed up. It sniffed out the cubs and I was scared at first but it just took over acting as their parent almost as if it had been sent to do so.” She walks up to the den and reaches her arm far inside, pulling out the tarp for your tent which is now dripping wet. She hands you the tarp then returns her Pidove. “The Shinx was heading north and couldn’t have gotten far with all of those cubs. I’m going to go track them down and make sure they are alright. I’m sorry if I’ve caused you any trouble, you can go ahead and get back to camping now if you would like.” She begins to quickly move in the direction the Shinx took the cubs, only looking back briefly to give you a wave. Now that you have your tarp back, what will you do? -------------------- myahoo - After Wildfire had been rudely attacked and thrown into a tree you turn toward the trainer that revealed himself shortly after. “What is your problem? Do you just randomly attack people wandering through the forest for fun?” You angrily yell at the trainer, not understanding why someone would do such a thing. The boy lets out another laugh, this one was a little shorter. “Who knows.” It is then that Wildfire prepares for battle after you shout off commands while at the same time the Scyther closes in and Night Slashes at Wildfire with its scythe arm, it is a hit but Wildfire is prepared now and braces itself. Scyther tries to dodge out of the way as Wildfire uses Swift and shoots a trail of stars at it but it’s no use because the stars hit it directly as it attempts to shield its face with its arms. You watch the battle intently, not taking an eye off of the Pokemon as they battle it out. The Scyther begins to run toward an area between some trees but it is immediately hit backwards once Wildfire leaps at it, smacking into it hard with Aerial Ace, once again Scyther was unable to dodge. This is when you realize that the trainer hasn’t said anything in a while and their Pokemon seems to be taking a lot of hits out there. At that moment, you begin to smell smoke, you look over to where the trainer was once standing and all that’s left in his place is a fire that is beginning to grow as it begins to engulf a nearby tree trunk. Wildfire goes in to attack Scyther with Crush Claw, this time Scyther finally manages to not only dodge but also completely escapes. Vanishing through the trees, leaving you and Wildfire alone with the fire that has been left behind. “I smell smoke! I think there is another fire over there! Where are all of these fires coming from?” You hear a voice in the distance followed by the sound of footsteps rapidly approaching. Suddenly you hear the sound of leaves rustling above you, is it the wind? You look up and see a brown blur quickly fly out of a tree, disappearing almost as fast as it appeared. You couldn’t quite make it out because it was gone almost as quickly as it had appeared but there was definitely something up there. Looking back at the fire, it is still somewhat small but getting larger with each passing second. What will you do? |
