Sunny Day! (- BP)
- - - - Curtis felt pumped to be here, he could just feel the excitement burning in his veins. Having taught Annahime Sunny Day and Synthesis specifically to improve their raid strategy- he was sure that they would be unbeatable! He had even gone the extra mile to let everyone know that HE WAS BRINGING THE SUN! There was nothing that could stop him and his allies from winning the day! So when the Bisharp had tried to flex at them by showing off an sharpening it's blades, Curtis just grinned and laughed, "Oh, you want to see a flex- I've got a flex for you!" he shouted in return. The Ninetales fur-suited trainer posed with his legs spread out. His right hand reaching up to the top of his hood, tugging it down, as his left hand formed a fist that he pressed against his right elbow, "Get ready to burn up because..." "Annahime, use Sunny Day! Don't ruin the moment!" Rolling her beady black eyes best she could, she nonetheless followed his orders and cried out at the sun with her mystical power- causing it's rays to intensify. "Vuuul-PIX!" She then preemptively averted her eyes from what her dumb trainer was about to do next. Curtis did a spin in place, stopping his momentum with a stomp as he reached his right hand up towards the now intensified sun as he cocked his head down while also reaching down with his other hand- the result being a poor imitation of a certain Pokemon Champion's iconic pose, "...becauuseee HERE COMES THE SUN!" His Vulpix looked away from him in shame as he dabbed on the Dynamaxed Bisharp. (The worst part is that he'd been practicing this in the mirror all morning and he still got the pose wrong.)

The Bisharp glared down at the gathered Trainers. Keith wasn't as familiar with this as he was with its pre-evolution, owning a Pawniard himself, but that wasn't about to change anytime soon, as Ginny was intent on not evolving. He allowed himself a small smile as he heard the familiar whirring of helicopter blades, and as he looked, to his immense satisfaction, there was the Channel 890 news helicopter, with Diana Macks and her cameraman Marv already beginning to cover the action. Keith gave a grin and a wave in the direction of the camera before turning back to face the Bisharp. Eon stood before him, the Shiny Eevee growling up at the Dark/Steel-type.
~~~~~ "Cool! He waved!" Phantump smiled as he saw Keith waving to the camera. "Willa, was he waving at us?" "Almost certainly," Willa responded with a small smile. Said smile faded as Phantump coughed again. "Take it easy, now, Phantump," she said gently. "Eat your soup." "Yes, Willa," Phantump replied before taking the next spoonful of soup Willa fed him. "Mm. That Vulpix used Sunny Day," he remarked, still watching the raid unfold. "I wonder if that means Eon's gonna use a Fire move?" "It would certainly make sense," Willa nodded. "And I think I know which Fire move would make the most sense for Eon to use there." ~~~~~ "Excellent," Keith grinned as the sun's rays intensified. "That's gonna play into our plans perfectly. Now, Eon!" he declared. "Let's start strong! Sizzly Slide attack!" "Vui!" barked Eon. Her fluffy white form became cloaked in fire, and the Shiny Eevee took off, launching herself at the Bisharp. OOC: Eon used Sizzly Slide (90 BP; boosted by sun; guaranteed to inflict a burn). Last edited by Missingno. Master; 09-04-2020 at 06:45 PM. Reason: Minor grammatical fix. |
The phenomenon known as Dynamax had massively enlarged another Pokemon at this power spot, this time, a massive Bisharp towered over the entering Trainers. As always, a rather motley crew had come from all corners to be Neoknight champions in this raid. Slash entered the area as a raider and was pleasantly surprised to see that, before taking on this raid, the raiders were forming a strategy. There wasn't much time to discuss the details, of course, but the general gist was that the best way to make it through this raid was through gratuitous use and abuse of harsh sunlight.
Slash cracked his neck - a probably not so good habit he'd picked up from his uncle - and selected a PokeBall from within his vest. If sun was the way to go, his Sunflora was definitely the pick of the day. "Sunflora, come on out!" he shouted, tossing the ball out to release her as his representative in this raid. He looked at the assembled Trainers and the Pokemon they had picked for the raid: a Turtonator, a Machop with some jewelry, a particularly pristine Vulpix, a hardy-looking Electivire, a Charmeleon bearing an icy shield, a horned Arcanine, and a rare treat, a shiny Eevee. Overall a diverse and pretty formidable looking raid squad. While not easy, this raid should definitely be doable and clean. He'd let his allies who needed to set up the unifying theme of the raid, the powerful sun, and then his sunflower could pop into action. "Sunflora, use your Hidden Power!" OoC: Fire-typed Hidden Power, 60 BP, boosted by sunlight, Solar Power, and Charcoal |
Max Raid Boss Bisharp ★★★★ Health Gauge: 72% Shields Up: 6 Status: Sandstorm (1), Burn, Confused Raid Boss Attack Summary: Attack 1: Laser Focus (0 BP) Attack 2: Snarl (55 BP) CRITICAL HIT! Attack 3: Max Rockfall (130 BP) A Sandstorm started raging! The raiders are buffeted by the Sandstorm! Raid Challengers:
The raiders show no remorse, setting up the bright sunlight immediately before hammering away at the Bisharp with powerful Fire and Fighting attacks. Some of the attacks are perhaps a little reckless, which could prove costly, but for now they're successful as Bisharp is forced to throw up shields. Despite being confused and burned, Bisharp has no issue mirroring the raiders' remorselessness. It focuses intently on the raiders, before releasing a devastating Snarl! The critical hit leaves a number of the raiders licking their wounds, Charmeleon especially who is already dealing with the recoil it inflicted on itself. Bisharp then brings a Max Rockfall down on Arcanine, clearing the sun as it sets up a Sandstorm to chip away at the raiders. Dynamax Initiative: Sandaa, Turtonator
The group laid into the Dark- and Steel-type pretty heavily. Massively explosive punches and fiery strikes slammed into the towering Pokemon before he set up his defensive measures, the last few attacks harmlessly shattering some of the barriers he had set up to protect himself. But a good job had been done, leaving the super sentai reject confused and with visible burns on him.
However, this was merely an early phase of the fight, and it was his turn to return fire. It looked like he wasn't doing anything at first, but it became clear pretty soon he was just putting an intense amount of focus into his next strike, Snarling out a powerful wave of Dark energy at half the combatants, hitting critically on all four. That wasn't all he was up to, however, summoning a mass of rocks and cascading them onto the Arcanine, the debris from the stone falling creating a raging sandstorm, negating the effects of the harsh sunlight. Its assault was over, for the time being, and it was time for the raiders to regather themselves and strike back. Fist priority: those shielding barriers. It wouldn't take a hard hit to crack into the shields the Bisharp was hiding behind. Any small blow would do. It wouldn't do any good to keep on using Hidden Power over and over. He knew the Pokemon could use Torment and being locked out of his best move wouldn't do. Best to not use anything that would be potentially useful, due to that kind of threat. Besides, it's always good to hide your power level. He gestured over to his happy Sunflora, and said "Let's be team players and just break a shield with Pound!" Once more, Sunny Day! (- BP)
- - - - - Curtis felt a rush of excitement as everyone's sun-boosted Fire attacks slammed hard into the Bisharp. Yes, yes, yes, it's working! "Burn, burn, burn!" Curtis exclaimed with semi-manic laughter. They managed to back the Dynamaxed Pokemon into a corner so fast that it had to throw up it's shields before the flurry of attacks was even complete! He could even see it getting physically pushed back! Though then, the Bisharps dug in it's heels as eyes lit up in a burning-orange evil glow. "Brace yourselves!" Curtis shouted out, "Here comes the counter attack!!" Annahime herself was already bracing for the incoming hit. She had seen this trick before, though she was certain that she could withstand at least one hit from this thing. What neither of them quite expected was for the Bisharp to let loose with a boosted Snarl! Annahime yelped in pain as the black shockwave of the attack washed over here, but she stood firm and stayed standing- as did the others who were hit by the attack. Then, the raid boss let loose with a Max Rockfall! A wall of stone smashing into the Arcanine, who luckily still stayed standing himself. Though the sandstorm that was kicked up was certainly problematic as everyone was buffeted by the harsh sands. "If this is what being in a sand blaster feels like," Curtis groaned, "then I say 'no thanks!'. Annahime, clear this up with another Sunny Day!" Annahime wasn't sure quite how things interacted here, but if Sunny Day would get rid of this mess then she was glad to follow through. "Vuuull-PIIIIIXXXX!" Calling out to the sun once more, the harsh sandy winds died down as harsh sunlight shined upon the battlefield once more. "Good job, Annahime!" Curtis called out. Then he pointed a defiant finger at the Bisharp, "Just goes to show that, YOU CAN'T STOP THE SUN!!"
"Yay! They broke through the shield!" Phantump cheered before going into another coughing fit. Once that subsided, he looked up at his Trainer, who was staring intently at the TV. "...that's good, isn't it, Willa?" he added.
"Normally, yes," Willa nodded. "But when the shield breaks, it lowers the Pokémon's Defense and Special Defense." "But isn't that a good thing?" Phantump asked. Willa turned to face Phantump. "What do Bisharp evolve from?" she asked. "Pawniard?" replied Phantump. Willa nodded slowly. "Correct," she said. "And what Ability does Keith's Pawniard have?" "Ginny? She's got Defiant, right?" asked Phantump. Willa nodded once more. "And what activates Defiant?" "Well, it's stat drops like- oh. Ohhhhh," Phantump murmured, turning to look at the TV screen. "Uh-oh..." ~~~~~ "Alright, the shield's down," Keith murmured as said shield shattered upon contact with a Charge Beam from Robin's Electivire. "But we're not outta the woods yet. If this thing's got the same Ability as Ginny, then we just did its Attack stat a huge favor." Nevertheless, Keith took a deep breath. This was fine. He'd planned for this possibility, Eon had the perfect move for this situation. He merely had to wait for all the others to finish attacking, the better to take advantage of the lowered defenses of the Bisharp, while still acting before it could take advantage of its heightened Attack power. "Vuiiii..." growled Eon, looking warily up at the sizable sentient set of steak knives. "Wait for it..." Keith murmured, his gaze shifting from Pokémon to Pokémon as they attacked. And once they've all acted, so too did Keith. "Now! Use Freezy Frost!" he ordered Eon. "OoeeeVUI!" Eon squealed slamming her front paws into the ground. This would cause a massive black iceberg to erupt from beneath Bisharp. Ice wasn't too terribly effective against it, of course, but this was more about Freezy Frost's side effect, a side effect anyone familiar with the move Haze would know and know well. OOC: Eon used Freezy Frost (90 BP; resets all stat changes). |
Max Raid Boss Bisharp ★★★★ Health Gauge: 57% Shields Up: 0 Status: Sandstorm (1), Burn Raid Boss Attack Summary: Attack 1: Laser Focus (0 BP) Attack 2: Lash Out (150 BP) CRITICAL HIT! Attack 3: Max Rockfall (130 BP) A Sandstorm started raging! The raiders are buffeted by the Sandstorm! Raid Challengers:
Shields fall quickly thanks to a Max Flare from the now Dynamaxed Turtonator and a Fissure from Machop. A couple of other raiders finish off the last of the shields while Vulpix breaks the Sandstorm with another Sunny Day. The shields fall and Bisharp's defences drop, only for its Defiant ability to trigger, not once, but twice! Thankfully one raider has this threat covered, breaking the Heat Waves with a Freezy Frost that clears the stats of all Pokemon! Bisharp is pissed! Robbed of its boosts and struggling with the burn, it knows its best shot at victory is to remain focused. The laser like vision locks onto Electivire and the blade Pokemon Lashes Out, managing to find a way to make use of those stat drops after all! The sun is soon quelled as well, with another Max Rockfall summoning the sands again, while leaving Eevee to scramble out of the rubble. Dynamax Initiative: Sandaa, Turtonator
Willa and Phantump winced simultaneously as Eon took the Max Rockfall. The dust sent flying from the impact showed no sign of dying down any time soon, either, for the Max Move had kicked up a sandstorm.
"Bisharp keeps changing the weather," Willa observed. "It's insistent on a sandstorm as opposed to harsh sunlight." "Yeah, cuz it's- *cough cough*- weak to Fire, right?" Phantump coughed. "Take it easy, now," instructed Willa, feeding Phantump some more soup. "But you are correct," she added, glancing back at the TV. "I think I know what they'll do about this now, and if I'm right, they need to act before one of their allies changes the weather back..." ~~~~~ "Eon! Are you alright?!" Keith called out, trying to make himself heard over the raging sandstorm. "Oooeeee..." groaned Eon, though even now she was getting back up after that horribly powerful Max Rockfall. "Vui vui!" she barked determinedly. "Good," grinned Keith. "Though they're gonna change the weather back, so our opportunity to heal back up is now- Bouncy Bubble, let's go!" "VUI!" responded Eon, preparing to launch a barrage of bubbles Bisharp's way. A singularly unique Water move, Keith knew that Bouncy Bubble was gonna heal up Eon. But by how much depended on how much damage the move did, meaning time was of the essence- this had to happen now, before Gary's Turtonator changed the weather back with Max Flare- it was fairly obviously the smart move to make here, after all, so if there was ever a time to go for a Water move in this fight, it was right here, right now. OOC: Eon used Bouncy Bubble (90 BP; heals user by half the damage dealt). Last edited by Missingno. Master; 09-09-2020 at 02:21 PM. Reason: Minor grammatical fix. |
It's time to take a breather with a nice sun-boosted Synthesis! (Heals for 2/3 Max HP in harsh sunlight)
- - - - Much to Annahime's dismay- well, annoyance, her idiot proceeded to hoot and holler and cheer like some kind of monkey (okay he wasn't hooting, but it wouldn't surprise her) as their team members laid waste to the Bisharp's shields and then hit it with Fire-type moves that were being boosted by the sunny weather she brought about. That ah, Charmeleon, in particularly let loose a dazzling burst of flame that severely scorched the foe in front of them. Once again, her Trainer's crazy strategies were paying off. Though then of course their foe had to bring about another sandstorm. She just grimaced and folded her ears as the sands spun right back up. This was going to do murder on her fur. To her surprise though, Curtis didn't yell at her to throw down another Sunny Day. Instead he yelled at one in charge of the temporarily-giant fire-turtle thing if they "could please thrown down a Max Flare". To her relief, that brought back the sunny weather and she got right to shaking what sand she could out of her fur. "Annahime, time to heal up! Use Synthesis!" Oh, so that's why he didn't have her clear up the skies. Well, if he wants her to take a break and soak up some sunlight- who was she to say no? Just need to do a little streeetch, sit like so, face towards the sun, let it soak in and- aaaaaahhhh. She could feel her injuries wash away under the life-giving rays of the sun. Shame this didn't do anything to fix up her fur.
