Missingno. Master - Maribel’s orders were completely foreign to Gengar, but the grin that stares back at her from within the void shows little care for her Pokemon’s next moves. Plan all she wants, there’s nothing she can hit it with when her Pokemon are out cold on the floor.
Yet, there has to be some reason that these corrupted Pokemon are still attacking her. After all, even if her Poison-types fall, she has more in her back pocket ready to clean up this fight. Perhaps their programming simply didn’t recognize that this battle was already lost? Or, perhaps there’s some deeper reason? Either way, the Ghost-type charges a Shadow Ball, only for Arbok to lunge forward with impeccable speed! Jabbing his tail like a spear point, he smacks Gengar in the cheek, throwing the specter off-balance! It prematurely fires off the Shadow Ball meant for Weezing, but instead it careens right into Arbok! The snake collapses to the ground, his will to fight completely spent—but not without giving the Gengar a devious grin. He’s fought valiantly, and now it’s time for Weezing to show them the true power of their bonds! Moving her arms to strike a perfect pose, a geyser of Z-power erupts around Weezing! The radiant light almost seems to burn the black void around them, tearing away at the corruption wreathing Gengar’s form. The ghost takes a stumbling step back, eyes wide with awe and fear. The other Moves your Pokemon have been using were bewildering enough, but this is something far greater. Would it even be safe to use this in the game? There isn’t much time to give it thought, only that this battle had gone on long enough. Whatever was afflicting Xien’s journal needs to be cleansed, and the light of the girl’s Z-Crystal is just the thing to do it! A lustrous beam erupts from Weezing’s mind’s eye as she unleashes her move, razing through the empty plane. Gengar attempts to Protect itself with a shadowy barrier, but to no avail! Fractures of light spider up the shield, which holds up for only a brief moment before the full torrent of Weezing’s power pierces through, dealing a decisive blow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow— Static flickers across Maribel’s eyes, and the light-filled scene before her turns pitch black. There is no Gengar, no Xien, no Rotom, no Weezing nor Arbok. Total nothingness, as though the void had swallowed everything but her in an instant. Was this always meant to happen upon beating this anomalous battle, or had her final attack caused the very fabric of this reality to collapse? Floating in this endless black, her only companion these unanswerable questions about her fate, her senses become dulled. Experiencing no hot or cold, no up or down, continuing to breathe simply because the rules of this world dictate her lack of need for the necessities of life. Would her family know? Would they realize this is where her daughter has gone? Even now, she can faintly hear a voice calling for her... “Maribel!” All at once, it’s like her sense of existence comes back to her, and she sees a glowing light descend before her eyes. Shimmering gold pulses softly, its very presence beckoning her to reach out for it without a word. Warmth wreaths her body, and before her eyes the landscape of this endless nothing changes. Blocky words appear before her, harkening back to the very start of her journey... Quote:
Yet, this familiar scene is notably missing something: The King. The throne upon which that kind and curious man sat is now empty, the music an ode to noone... “Maribel!” The voice calls again, and this time she recognizes that it’s coming from the light in her clutches. Inspecting it closely, she feels an instantly recognizable texture beneath the incandescent shine: A Pokeball! She feels around for the button, and upon pressing it, the light engulfs her view once more... Maribel finds herself standing in the library once more, the rustic console’s light blinking softly in the dim candlelight. Checking her belt, she finds all of her Pokemon are safely tucked away in their balls... along with a new one. It would seem their quest for 256 has come to an end, as a quick scan from Rotom confirms her suspicions: *Congratulations! You’ve caught a Level 32 Female Kecleon with the EM Disable!* *Arbok gained 3 Levels!* *Weezing gained 3 Levels!* Hearing footsteps behind her, Maribel turns to see Elole approaching with a curious look on her face. Obviously, the stewards of the library expect their visitors to return, but something seems... off. Were these shelves this... dusty and decripit when the girl left, or was the source of this unease something else? Either way, the Minccino offers to escort her out of the library, given how fatiguing that journey must have been. There’s a lot to reflect on, and a long story to tell her parents if they ask about how her adventure went... but, as she passes one of the pedestals, something curious catches her eye: A thick tome, spread open upon the chiseled stone, pages plastered with sketches and scientific scrawlings. The title upon the spine reads: Quote:

And that's just what they went to do! Weezing, under the influence of the Z-Power Maribel had generated with her poses, let loose with a powerful Shattered Psyche. Gengar tried to Protect itself, but it was no use- moves like Protect couldn't hold up completely against the awesome might of a Z-Move! THe shield shattered under the pressure of the psychic onslaught, and Gengar was- -gone. And it wasn't just Gengar, either. Static flickered across Maribel's vision, and everything was gone. Gengar was gone. Arbok and Weezing, gone. She looked around- no sign of Xien. She couldn't even find her Rotom Phone. Maribel's heart sank. So was that battle the wrong move after all? Was she too late? Had she been fighting merely the corruption, or that which the corruption had corrupted- the save data of the game? And if it was indeed the latter, then surely... the file data was destroyed. With her in it. Maribel Diantha Masters was known for her fearlessness, but right now, she couldn't help but dwell on some very unwelcome thoughts... was this to be her final resting place, for all eternity? Entombed in this void? She couldn't even sense anything in here- no hot, no cold, no up or down. She simply... existed. Alone with her thoughts, and not very nice thoughts at that. She thought of her parents, Keith and Willa, the two people she looked up to more than anyone else. She thought of her Aunt Helena, the nicest, most friendly Banette she had ever met. She thought of her godfather, her Uncle Gavin, who always made time for her even when he was out Shiny hunting. She thought of Terri, of Eddie and Rose, of her best friend ZZLZZ... She might never see any of them again. They might be worried sick for her, have no idea where she ended up. Would they even be able to rescue her from this? And what of her Pokémon? Could they be rescued? Were they in their own empty voids, or elsewhere in this one? So many questions, and far too weighty for Maribel to seriously want to contemplate. And yet, what choice did she have but to dwell on them, in this vast emptiness, devoid of any other distractions, let alone an opportunity to escape... "Maribel!" And as Maribel heard a voice calling her name, she felt it. Her senses returned to her, a glowing light descended before her eyes, a shimmering golden light, softly pulsing. She didn't know how she knew to do it, but she reached out just about automatically and took hold of the light. Instantly she was rewarded with a very welcome warmth wreathing her body. And then, blocky words appeared before her, just as they had done at the very beginning, though this time they spelled out the title of the game. Lingering just about long enough for Maribel to read it out once, and then it faded away. But it wasn't just back to the darkness- no, the title was replaced with a vibrant scene- the Throne Room, Maribel realized, though more in tune with the graphics of the game, the regal tune playing in her ears. She smiled, though tilted her head as she realized Xien was missing from this scene. "Maribel!" There it was again- the voice. And this time, Maribel could discern the source- the light she held in her hand. She inspected it closely, and realized just what it was she was holding, invisible to her beneath the shimmering golden light. "A Poké Ball!" she breathed. Again, she knew not why she did what she did next, all she knew was that she felt around for the Poké Ball's button, and upon pressing it, the light expanded, engulfing her view in its entirety. And then... she was back. Maribel looked around, smiling in relief as she beheld the library. Quickly, she checked her belt- there were all her Poké Balls! And as if reacting to her touch, two of them burst open- Arbok and Weezing emerged, still worn and weary from the battle, though quite surprised to see their surroundings. "Chaaa...boka?" Arbok hissed in bewilderment. "Weezing weez," Weezing murmured. Maribel, meanwhile, wrapped the Poison-types in a tight hug. They did not object, sensing right away that Maribel seemed to need this. Arbok, in fact, gently hugged back with his coils, until a pinging sound from Maribel's bag prompted her to break off the hug, and extract her Rotom Phone from her bag. "Kecleon has been registered to your Pokédex!" Rotom stated, showing an image of the Color Swap Pokémon on screen. "Kecleon?" Maribel repeated. She felt back to her belt, and indeed- she'd failed to notice earlier, but there was one more ball there than there was before. The Kecleon that she and Xien spent so long searching for... it was hers now? But there wasn't much time to dwell on that- footsteps sounded from behind Maribel, and as she turned, she saw a familiar Cinccino. "Elole!" she smiled. The Cinccino regarded her curiously, as if something was amiss. "I feel fine, if that's your concern," Maribel reported. "The end of that adventure went in... I guess an unexpected direction, but I'm back, safe and sound, with everyone I went in there with, plus one more," she added, producing the new Poké Ball. Regardless, Elole offered to escort Maribel out of the library, an offer Maribel graciously accepted. She withdrew Arbok and Weezing- they were still quite tired out, after all, and would greatly appreciate a rest at the nearest Pokémon Center. And Maribel herself... she was rather tired out from all this, true enough. And those moments alone in that void were a part of the experience she'd just as soon never relive again, but all in all, Maribel was satisfied with how things had gone. It was fun, it put her battling skills to the test, and it was certainly going to give her a bit of fresh perspective the next time she played a video game. As they made their way past one of the pedestals, Maribel stopped for a moment, looking at the thick book spread open atop it. Welcome to the Wonderful World of Pokémon, volume three. Encompassing numbers 256 through 386 of the National Pokédex- most of the additions discovered in the Hoenn region. Like Kecleon. Maribel smiled at this. Was it mere coincidence that this book was open here like this? More questions without answers. But right now, she was more looking for a well-deserved rest than answers, and so she exited the library, thanking Elole once more for all her help. Once outside, Maribel tossed her newest Poké Ball into the air. "Come out- Kecleon!" she declared. And in a flash of light, there appeared the very Kecleon she'd seen in the void. Like back in the game, the Normal-type did not shy away. "...Kecle?" she chirped, already showing a bit more personality than what she had displayed in the void. Though as she regarded her surroundings, she didn't seem to know what to make of them, or how to react. Maribel knelt down beside her newest Pokémon. "This is my world, Kecleon," she said gently. "It's gotta be different from where you were, yeah?" "Kecleon..." Kecleon murmured, nodding slowly. "Well, don't worry," Maribel reassured the Color Swap Pokémon. "I'm gonna show you this world and how great it is. You'll see, I promise." At this, Kecleon looked into Maribel's eyes, mirroring her gentle smile with one of her own. "Kecle!" she nodded. Maribel continued to smile, then stood back up. She still clutched Kecleon's Poké Ball, but did not withdraw the Color Swap Pokémon. She promised that Kecleon would get to experience this world firsthand- the walk to the nearest Pokémon Center would definitely qualify as as good a place to start as any. *Adventure Complete!* *Arbok was elevated to level 25!* *Arbok learned Poison Jab!* *Arbok learned Spit Up!* *Arbok learned Swallow!* *Arbok learned Stockpile!* *Weezing was elevated to level 38!* *Weezing learned Explosion!* *As a result of reaching 30 Bond, Weezing learned Defensive Shield!* *As a result of reaching 30 Bond, Weezing learned Pika Papow!* *As a result of reaching 30 Bond, Weezing learned Power Shift!* Quote:

"I am not familiar with anything that you've mentioned, but it sounds dire. I should ask you to explain more, but I suspect that simply following you would provide a sufficient explanation. I know not how much time we have, and we would not delay you from your true task." Xatu was oddly silent, staring down at the rocky Pokemon. Lunatone remained staring at the sky, and Saito decided to recall Swellow and Altaria as there was little they could do for now. Breloom still remained on guard in case anything flew at the group. "Xatu?" Saito tried to channel his thoughts directly towards her for once. She blinked, her eyes unmoving from the creature. "Ah. I see you have managed to convince the man to stand down." "I don't think I've ever seen you like this before. You're usually looking right at me when you speak your thoughts. What happened?" "My kind possess the ability to peer into the future. I bore witness to more Pokemon such as the one shivering in fear beneath us falling out of the sky. Unwilling destruction as they landed. A cacophony of terrified cries as something followed to consume them." "Something... Consumed them?" Saito questioned out loud. The rest of the party looked at him, just as puzzled as he was. It was likely the man would have heard him as well, not that Saito would have been concerned with that. "Yes. What have you learned yourself?" Xatu wondered. The trainer channeled back a reply. "He spoke of something called the Destruction, about how the sky falls, and demons rising to feast. For now, maybe we should take the frightened one to safety. We can't simply leave it here at the mercy of... Everything down here." "If you mean to do that, you should do something about the floating stones surrounding it. Then perhaps you or that man may be able to pick it up. In time, it may calm down enough for Lunatone and I to inquire about what kind of threat may befall this region." Saito glanced back at the man. "The one that fell is as much of a victim of the coming disaster as everyone in these lands. Maybe we should take it with us. It may know of the pink crystals you seek, or tell us more about what this Destruction truly is. I think one among my companions will be able to clear the way for you, if you decide to bring it with you. Otherwise, my companions and I will carry it." The trainer stepped back and held out a Pokeball, careful to call upon the aid of a certain bird with a bag of useful items without sending him into the minefield of floating stones. "Delibird, we require your aid," Saito starts to explain. "I believe you're able to swing that bag of yours and sweep away the rocks with a Rapid Spin, correct?"

Reception and Recreation: Lil'twick You watched as a woman went to and from trainer to trainer, and spoke to them, their heels clicking across the floor. They approached trainer after trainer, holding out a slip and a pass, and were getting turned down, evidenced by the body language of each of the approached. The woman seemed to be a part of the library staffing judging from the name tag and their own pass resting atop their chest. What was it she was asking that trainer after trainer turned down? She soon approached you, and you would find your answer. Perhaps it would be interesting enough and worth your time. "Hello, I'm looking for a volunteer to help out the library. Recently we have been having an abnormally large influx of Pokemon coming in with the books, as well as a bunch of items, and it's starting to become overwhelming for the staffing to handle on our own. We are hoping that someone would help us out by clearing out the unwanted Pokemon and picking up the items in easier-to-maintain areas. Given that it's not a pleasant job we have narrowed it down to a few areas relatively easy to maintain whilst the staff deals with more troublesome areas. We are also allowing trainers to keep any items of value they come across they would like..." She was finding it difficult to continue because you had been listening to the whole request before speaking... something that apparently none of the others had been doing and now that she was finished she was unsure of how to continue the conversation. She fidgeted in place as she waited for some form of response from you. What would you say?

"I see. One such as myself could be up for the task. Surely, most trainers here would just go diving straight into the books of yore, no? Yet, not everyone wishes to partake in that trip. After all... this library itself is quite the treasure. It would be my pleasure," they give her a soft grin. "So, where shall we start?" they then ask with a calm tone. Getting up, they pat any dust off of their pants before tightening their gloves. They then blankly stare at the woman, further analyzing her. Interesting, how they squirm beneath a watchful gaze. how curious indeed. Still, they were starting to feel... peckish. The thrill of the hunt was starting to take hold. So, they must quell it soon. Or they may throw caution to the wind, and never look back. And that reckless abandon was something they had left behind a very long time ago.

And yet, there wasn't enough time to stand around counting how many there were. The party now had new friends to protect, after all. Including the one cowering behind Saito's legs. Saito looked to the man seeking to save his village. "I believe my companions wish to save as many of our sky-fallen friends as possible. If there's something else you need to see to, then take the one behind me to safety with you. Otherwise... I believe we can use the help in beating these demons back!" As Saito spoke those words, Delibird had waddled back to him, grabbing the Pokeballs that contained Swellow and Altaria and throwing them, summoning them back outside. Both initially seemed annoyed at Saito for his decision to recall them when the two knew there was still danger approaching, but that wasn't important now. It was time for combat. "For the first time in years, we shall fight as one. Even I shall take the field!" Xatu declared as she took flight from her former Lunatone perch. However, Xatu was aware of what these Pokemon were, and knew she likely wouldn't come out of a direct confrontation with them unscathed. "Have you any ideas, Saito? As an aspiring captain of the guard, as you claim, surely you have effective answers to this?" "Yes, but not involving Pokemon," Saito admits out loud. "The field is in chaos. Perhaps you should focus on reaching the fallen stars and Teleport them to safety behind us. The rest of us will cover you and strike down as many of these demons as possible. Once we gain control of the situation, we can set up a defensive barrier and then strike down our enemies together without fear of harming our potential allies." Lunatone began to hover higher into the air, channeling a pink aura that seemed to be drawing energy from the moonlight. To Saito's surprise, Altaria flew next to Lunatone, apparently channeling the same attack. The two planned to cleanse their adversaries with a double Moonblast. Breloom, perhaps still wound up from the previous battle, immediately moved to lunge at the nearest enemy with a Thunderpunch. Delibird started to rummage through his tail bag, pulling out several Icicle Spears. He seemed pleased with what he found on rather short notice, readying himself to throw them at the second closest Sableye. Swellow was not to be outdone. This was his first battle alongside Saito, and it was time for Swellow to show his new trainer exactly why the rest of the senior party members always considered him to be the strongest among them, as their previous trainer's first Pokemon. A cold chill coalesced around Swellow's wings as he took to the skies at astonishing speed, intending to divebomb the Sableye furthest from the group and blasting it with a point-blank Blizzard. OOC - Combat summary: - Xatu: Following the other Pokemon and teleporting Carbinks out of danger to a central location behind Saito. - Lunatone and Altaria: Casting Moonblast at the Sableyes together - Breloom: Attacking the closest Sableye with a Thunderpunch - Delibird: Throwing Icicle Spears at the second closest Sableye - Swellow: Divebombing the furthest Sableye with a point-blank Blizzard.

--- Liawe awoke with a blinding headache, which was unfortunately not a first. The last time that had happened, she woke up in a bed on the Minnao Isles, having been knocked unconscious by a massive Gyarados that had proceeded to wipe her team like dropped sauce. That wasn't a pleasant memory, and as Liawe pushed it aside she realised that unlike then, she was outside now. And it... wasn't raining. And someone was stood over her. Wait, someone was stood over her. And judging by the lack of aggression, no sign of Scyther and the hair being wrong... That wasn't Kerry. Shit. She should probably get up now... The stranger helped Liawe to her feet, albeit with some confusion still. After checking she still had everything, Liawe blinked a few times, trying to clear the pounding headache, before instead settling with asking the strange farmgirl - Harriet supposedly - if she had seen Kerry. Whatever had sent her here, Kerry couldn't have gone much further... right? As if on cue, two of her Pokeballs burst open to reveal a couple of her accompanying allies: Feathers the Rufflet and Robin the Fletchling. Feathers landed on her shoulder, staunch as ever, while Robin took off circling above her, clearly on the lookout in this unfamiliar environment. She also had Vulthuryol's Pokeball to hand, but given the farmhand's general demeanour she figured unleashing the ancient beast might just scare her off, so the Aerodactyl was kept back for now. "Kerry shouldn't be that far... Where could she have gotten to?" The question turned over in her mind constantly, in torturous rhythm with the pounding of her head. Maybe this was one concussion too many... --- Kerry awoke with a start at the sound of Scyther's name, jolting swiftly into an upright position. Somehow she was in... a barn? Not the library? That was... disconcerting, at the least. And Scyther was nowhere to be seen, though there was some random bloke stood over her whittling to himself about "getting inside" and whatnot. Rising to her feet (clearly somewhat quicker than this Hawker person would like), she began checking her kit was present before turning angrily to the unfortunate soul who woke her. "Ok so first off, where the hell is Scyther? Have you done something to him? And second, no we are not going anywhere until Scyther gets back. He's my partner and I'm not abandoning him in some field somewhere because someone decided to scare him off!" Turning defiantly, and ignoring the nagging pain in the back of her head, Kerry turned and stormed out of the barn, dead set on finding her trusted partner. And eventually, Liawe too, though Kerry had little doubt that the girl could sort herself for the time being.

She breathed a sigh of relief after you agreed to help. Before regaining her composure she seemed to fumble internally for a moment as if she was going off a script inside her head, and now that someone had deviated from the normal responses she was fumbling to pull the next script up in her head. "Right... Ah, here we go excuse me for that. So what we would have you be doing is going through these doors here to where we obtain the books and go through the process of sorting them. If you would, please follow me this way." She lead you to a backroom of sorts where you could see countless forms of books, scrolls, and similar flying about in all sorts of manners, some Pokemon running amok and items materializing seemingly out of thin air along with the texts. " This is one of the more relatively contained areas where there aren't as many Pokemon here. Please handle the Pokemon and when they are defeated please press this button on this here, " She hands you a small device that simply looked like a clicker "This will signal to the other staff that a Pokemon has been defeated and is ready for removal back to wherever it came and a separate team will handle them. You are free to keep any items of interest you come across but please clean them up as well. We have a bin where you can toss items of little to no interest to you here so they can be sorted, sent back, or donated elsewhere." She points to a bigger bin that looked like it would be a chute, it looked to be permanently open so you could toss stuff into it. "A word of advice, it is vacuum powered so don't try to put your body parts or smaller Pokemon there less they get sucked and stuck. When you have done all that you wish to do you simply can exit and come see us at reception and we will go from there." She left you to your own devices after ensuring you had everything you needed. This was a rather large room and with lots of activities going on here you could only wonder when it would truly be "clean". Where would you begin?

Taking out four Pokeballs, they toss them up into the air. Sparkles and stars shimmer, illuminating the room as the Pokemon are released. A yellow Lickitung, Lemon. A red Stunky, Beryl. A white Salandit, Ivory. And lastly, the ALL CONSUMING VOID. Sorry. A blue Gulpin, Blueberry. Sylv watched as Blueberry opened his gaping maw, requiring more to be consumed. "Yes, yes. A gluttonous demon you are Blueberry. Do not consume unless instructed," they calmly tell the Gulpin, whose maw only widens. "You may eat any trash we find. I think you will fit better than that glorified vacuum cleaner," they state, looking at the giant chute. "Alright, Beryl, Ivory. You to can handle combat. Debilitate any Pokemon by using your Corrosive Poison Gas Ivory. Beryl, use your Venom Drench to further hinder them. If you need to engage in direct combat, your Scratch and Crunch attacks will work respectively," they order the Salandit and Stunky. Ivory responds with a grin, while Beryl meekly nods. "Lemon, darling, let's put your tongue to good use. Lick up any items of value, and hand them to me. If it is deemed worth our time, I shall keep it. If not... and it is edible, I shall feed you Blueberry. You are not allowed to eat the Pokemon here. They will be rehabilitated. Any unedible item... though I doubt Blueberry wouldn't try to eat it anyways, then down the chute it goes. Alright boys, go forth!" they order, sticking their right arm out. Time to observe how well these children play.

'Is it possible that this is some kind of pocket dimension that I've found myself in? I can see nothing other than the podium and myself. Surely if something had gripped the library, others would have noticed and have tried to remedy the situation. Of course this could all be a delusion of some manner. If the demons are part of the human brain, perhaps I am simply sitting down, in some manner of trance, oblivious to all that is around me. I suppose in the end that doesn't really matter. The cards have been dealt, and now I need to choose a guide for my journey.' The woman stepped forward and put her hands over the four chess pieces, trying to decide which one to take as her guide. Which one would be capable of illuminating that which she wished to find? First, the ivory horse. Pure white, representing innocence. As she contemplated the horse, her thoughts filled with the feelings of springtime. A faint flicker touched the edge of her mind as she felt like she could feel something coming. Laughter. The warm sun. The smell of grain. A memory of fresh life. But also a memory of pain. Not direct pain, the pain of something long gone, like the sting from an insect bite that continues to persist. She moved to the second horse, the one with the ruby eyes. Eyes of opulence and war. Fear gripped her heart immediately, although she didn't know why. She could feel herself shrinking from the sudden heat, from the sudden pressure of a red sun pressing down upon her. This one wouldn't do. Some things are best left forgotten. The third horse was pure black, fitting after the second horse. The loss of innocence. The beginning of death and fall. The woman could feel herself becoming empty at the sight of it, could almost feel the decay present in the leaves take hold in her body. She coughed without thinking of it, before realizing that she hadn't cough like that in a long time. It was...close. But the memory here felt hopeless and melancholy, and she chose to avoid it. There was finally the last horse, the ebony horse with the milky white eyes. The representation of the cycle. The innocence that blooms after the storm. As she looked at this one, she felt as if she was dying...but her body refused to fall. There was something to this one that spoke to her. The tingle, the rush, the blood pumping once again. After winter there is spring, after death there is no life, and yet as she beheld this knight, she felt as if she was being reborn. It was not a mere representation of rebirth, no, it was if she herself were being reborn under its power. It had to be this one. Maybe this was a trap. But something about the winter spoke to her. It is here that the truth was to be found, the woman was sure of it. Something about the rush of blood she felt spoke to her. It knew it was true. She gripped the fourth knight, the knight of Winter, and spoke aloud. "I choose the path of Winter, the cold icy chill, to grip of death, and the promise of rebirth."

You set your Pokemon out and gave them the tasks you deemed appropriate for them and stood and kept your eye as you saw your Skunky and Salandit scuttle about, engaging in combat with Pokemon approximately the same size as themselves. Pokemon started piling up left and right. So far most of them were Pokemon you'd have expected to see within a library, like Ratatta, but occasionally your Pokemon managed to defeat a Kirlia which had been teleporting about the room in a panicked manner. 12 clicks so far. What was fascinating was that another Pokemon popped into the room with a click, perhaps an Abra? It came in and grabbed each Pokemon that fell in battle and took them somewhere with Teleport. Meanwhile, your Lickingtung and Gulpin were working just as diligently on their assigned tasks. Half of the items Lemon grabbed were trash, but mostly edible, and Blueberry seemed to enjoy the treats of different foods. Occasionally a Machine Move popped up, along with other items and Lemon handed them to you, placing them in a pile in front of you nice and neat for you to sort through at your leisure as you kept eyes on all your Pokemon. Occasionally Blueberry attempted to eat something such as a Pokeball, but upon making eye contact with you or Lemon, would stop and continue about the proper task. Beryl and Ivory earned 3 levels so far. Lemon and Blueberry earned 2 levels each. You have found the following; Held Items: 1x Dragon Fang, 2x bags of Soft Sand, and 1x Poison Barb. Machine Moves: 1x Low Sweep, 1x Pluck, 1x Confuse Ray, 1x Toxic Spikes Pokeball: 1x Rustic Feather Ball Misc: 2x Nuggets What would you do with the Items? Do you feel as if you have done enough?

To be alive in New York City

Sylv watches as their Pokemon work at their respective tasks. Beryl and Ivory were doing their best in cleaning up the Pokemon, while Lemon and Blueberry were doing their best cleaning. They had managed to defeat a good amount of Pokemon so far, as well as find a decent amount of items. Though looking through the items, most of these didn't really feel like things they wanted. They scooped up the TMs and put them into the bin. They weren't really one to expand on movepools when it was unnecessary. They liked their Pokemon more... pure. Though, the other items were good. The nuggets would be some nice pocket change for sure. The Pokeball was unique, something from the far past. Perhaps they could find a buyer for a relic such as this. As for the battle items, those would prove more than useful. They gave the Poison Bard for Ivory to hold. "Let us continue here for a while longer. I have a feeling we haven't cleaned out everything," they told their time, scanning the room. OOC: Claiming all the above besides the TMs. Equipping the Poison Bard to Ivory the Salandit.

You decided to stay put, after all, perhaps there was a little bit more that just hadn't been noticed yet. Your Pokemon scurried about and squeaked upon finding more opponents hiding away trying to escape. One Pokemon in particular was giving your duo a little more trouble than usual. Due to it being steel-type in nature and immune to their poison attacks. Your Pokemon had no issues switching up tactics on it to take it down. 18 clicks. Your other Pokemon had amassed a new pile for you to pick through. So far there was a Clear Amulet, an Eject button, a Pair of Heavy Duty Boots, what felt to be a Loaded Dice set, a pair of Protective Pads, A Zoom lens, a Utility Umbrella, and... Some iron chunks. They had swept the room clean of everything you could see so far and there didn't appear to be any more things coming through portals. Suppose even that guy needed a break from time to time. The same lady as before came into the room and inspected it with a few quick glances. "Well done, Faster than most who help out in this job, but I do suppose we did have you in an easier section to handle some of the lighter problems. Regardless, thank you for your efforts. She pulled out a sack of additional items. Within it contained 5x Pokeballs, A peculiar scroll that held true secrets of the path of water, and some more crafting items. "It's not much but it's some things left over that the other regular helpers decided they didn't have any interest in. It seems they preferred to have TM's over most of the regular items they found." She handed you the sack of items, along with a wad of cash. "Your commission for helping out, Feel free to take whatever else you want from that pile and please notify us when you leave." She did an awkward bow before turning and leaving the room. It seemed she was still unnerved by you. Oh well. This marks the end of your short DA adventure I do hope this was an adequate one. Enjoy your next adventure! Each of your Pokemon gained 3 Levels Items you have obtained:
You may choose from the following Items to keep in addition to your previous rewards:

All in a day's work
Quote:
Sylv watched as their squad continued their cleaning efforts. Things looked to be going quite well at this point. Especially with the small increases in power, they all were receiving. Soon enough they would be able to tackle even tougher quarries. A true hunter never rests, and only bides their time til the next mark shows itself. More significant, worse, and more complex. That was the thrill of the hunt. Throw caution to the wind and never look back in the face of danger. It was how they lost their eye, after all. It was how they lost a lot of things. Yet, it also brought them a lot more. Lemon was really the first good thing in their life. Something that wasn't born out of conflict or strife. The family they had was all gone. The people they cared for were dead. All last seen through their sights, staring down their barrel. Perhaps, one day, they would be the same. Looking through a sniper's sight. As they had lived through for many years. The Lickitung looked at his trainer, a puzzled look on his face. There were a lot of items that they had the ability to take. Yet, it would be best to hand over most of these to the library. Yet, before they could make a decision, the receptionist from before appeared. She was impressed by their ability to work efficiently. All in a day's work, after all. She gave them a handful of rewards and allowed them to choose one of the items around. Walking over to peruse their options, one item caught their eye. A small, black cube. A die. A weird, green lacquer seemed to be oozing over the faces. Leaving them all blank besides the one fully covered. A single question mark. Loaded Dice. The ability to cheat fate with a critical role. Perhaps this would prove the most useful. Picking it up, they could feel something. That luck was soon going to be on their side. Perhaps a boon from the fates. They were drying up, per se. Returning all of their Pokemon, they simply bow to the receptionist. Pocketing their items, they make their way out of the library. Adventure was calling them elsewhere now. These storied halls immortalized a lot. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Yet, all of those things had a certain beauty in them. Even through the filth and muck, a flower could bloom. But for now, the trill of the hunt was welling up within them. The die was cast. OOC: Claiming all of the main rewards, and just the Loaded Dice from the optional rewards. Thank you for giving me something short and sweet Enigma!

“You think this library has a bit of magic to it?” the trainer asked as she looked at yet another book that wasn’t what she was looking for. She once visualized herself standing at the pinnacle of the contest world…but now…she just didn’t know anymore. What she was searching for may not have been ‘here’ but what she was hoping to find was some inspiration to create the ‘perfect’ appeal. As she explored more of the large structure she came to a large opening where a number of telescopes were aimed around on the higher pillars with stairs leading up to them and above was an open dome like window that allowed the stars and moon to shine brightly through. She looked at the stage in the middle of the room and had the strongest urge to perform. “Come on Lola!” she exclaimed as she ran to the top of it, Lola knew what that look in her trainer’s eyes meant and the hint of excitement in her voice...there was no getting out of this one. Even if there was no one around to see it, doing it just for themselves was enough of an occasion to put on a performance! “Of course, we need at least one more member here to make it feel like a real appeal!” she said as she called out her Altaria, “Come on out Cloudy!” with a burst of hazy looking clouds displayed due to the stickers she had placed on her Pokémon’s capsulized poke ball, her Altaria made an appearance! On the release her flying dragon soared out and flew high up to the ceiling of the dome. “Alright you two, let’s get this appeal started!” At the center of the stage the lass reached for her necklace that contained her key stone on her rose gold necklace, upon her touching the gem, the stone reacted to her Altaria’s megastone which caused connecting lights to merge and allowed Altaria to mega evolve and become much fluffier than she was already. With everything set, Liza ordered her appeal orders, “Lola Mystic Terrain, then Mystical Fire. Cloudy use Mist and Safeguard!” As the appeal started, the Lass envisioned a crowd of people watching them. The stage was soon covered in a mystical light of pink as sparkle of light lifted into the air, as Slyveon sat on the middle of the stage, she released a fire of mystical flames that danced around her. Soon the dragon type who was circling from above joined in and with a nice mist, caught up to the flames like clouds of cotton candy, connecting with the flames to dispel them in way of dazzling fire that sparkled in small fiery embers. As the appeal ended the safeguard of a light blue lit up like dome covered the mist filled flames from escaping and caused a light show within the dome to shine before it died out. In a huff of haze the two Pokémon that accomplished their set were left center stage proudly crying out… OoC: Adding an Amulet Coin to double my Pokedollars~ |

"Absolutely remarkable..." This was, in essence, what fulfilled him. Lugh lived for this kind of discoveries, the rare and wonderful sights of the world. His fascination with the uncommon, the unknown, the unspoken, was unparalleled. Even in his pursuits as a Trainer, he sought only the rarest, most unlikely of Pokemon to become his companions. Because there is beauty in rarity. "To think a place such as this could actually exist... Countless wonders just waiting to be experienced in person. I wonder... if one was to stay here for long enough, would they eventually be able to uncover every mystery of the world?" He struggled to even decide where to start. But one thing he knew - in order to understand the present, and even the future, one had to know the past. And what better way to begin his time here on Fizzytopia than to experience what had come before? There were so many potential encounters! "The past often finds a way to trickle into the present, after all. Rare fossils that can be revived, miraculously preserved specimens of the Hisui era, Paradoxes of Paldea's bygone eras... I wonder, though, if Hammurabi has ever seen such creatures." His only companion, a mysterious Iron Valiant, had been with him for a long time now. Ever since he had invested a proper fortune into a single trip to Paldea's Area Zero... In hindsight, it had been completely irresponsible - a human with no Pokemon to protect him, venturing into one of the most dangerous and uncharted territories in the world. The money he had spent for the trip to even happen - between paying local authorities for a special permit, a guide to take him to the entrance, and the hefty fee for bringing back an unidentified Pokemon - was a sum he would stuggle to make back any time soon, but in the end... "... It was all worth it. I hope you think so too, Hammurabi. I wish I knew how you feel at all..." To this day, he could not tell why the Iron Valiant had decided to follow him to the outside world, or why he had not fled once out of Area Zero. Like a knight bound by an oath, Hammurabi never left, to this very day. Perhaps one day Lugh would know the reason... "... I suppose we need to start somewhere. Now... " He closed his eyes and retrieved a book at random from one of the shelves. "Let us relive History." |

To his side, he saw one of the Sableye lunge at Lunatone, the injured Lunatone visibly shaky in its hovering afterwards. But Lunatone would respond by trying to channel the power of the moon in a different way, using its Moonlight to try to mend its wounds. Yet the lunar Pokemon would be vulnerable to further attacks at this point. At the same time, Saito felt the psychic connection that Meiru the Xatu established with everyone waver as Meiru was struck by rocks that threatened to pin her down, and he could no longer see her. "Meiru! What happened?!" He tried to reach out to her with his thoughts. The timid Delibird, who often had little appetite for chaotic combat such as this, did bear witness to what happened to Meiru. He bravely charged forward with bag in hand, trying to free the trapped Xatu with his little flippers somehow - and in turn, intending to throw those same rocks back at the approaching Sableye with a Rock Blast. Suddenly, Saito could hear Xatu's voice again. "I believe I have done all I can to get the closest ones out of danger... These confounding rocks... I can escape by teleporting out, but recklessly doing so without seeing the destination will expend significant energy and may only serve to send me into even further danger." "Stay there for now. Delibird is already trying to free you, though I am not sure how he can. He appears to be confident enough and it's not my place to question that." Saito thought back to Meiru. "Outnumbered as we are, we're going to have to strike them all at once." "Serenade!" Saito called out to Altaria, holding his Mega Ring aloft, resonating with Serenade's Altarianite. "Better to do this sooner than never at all! Reveal your true self, and scatter our foes with your Disarming Voice! Meiru, once Delibird gets you out of there, blind them all with a Dazzling Gleam!" Meanwhile, Faltzer the Swellow hovered overhead. Despite his aerial superiority and mastery of the elements, the latter of which was a highly unusual trait for a Swellow, he knew there was little to be gained by just picking apart the horde one by one, even if there was little that the horde could do to him due to his immunity to ghostly energies. After seeing how Lunatone was nearly struck down by a surprise attack, he began to think of a countermeasure to intercept anything similar directed at the party with his Quick Guard. Then there was Breloom. He looked like he wanted to charge into the horde all by himself. But seeing what the rest of the party was preparing to do, he concluded that he would either be ripped apart if he charged in now, or caught by everyone else's attacks, the latter of which was a much worse prospect. For now, he resolved to unleash his Spore at any that tried to attack him or the fallen ones gathered behind Saito. Combat summary: - Faltzer the Swellow is getting ready to defend everyone with a Quick Guard. - Lunatone is healing itself with Moonlight. - Delibird is attempting to free Meiru from the enemy Rock Tomb, and return said rocks back at the nearest Sableye with a Rock Blast. - Saito is invoking the power of Mega Evolution using Serenade the Altaria's Altarianite, with Serenade intending to drown the menacing cackling of the Sableye horde with her Disarming Voice - Meiru the Xatu is readying herself to unleash a Dazzling Gleam at all nearby Sableye if Delibird is successful in freeing her from the Rock Tomb. - Breloom is launching a Spore cloud at any Sableye that tries to go for him or the group of Carbink. Also using Delibird's Amulet Coin to double Pokedollar gains.

"Do you sense anything hidden, Meiru?" "A wave of trepidation from the ones we are protecting, and... Something else." Something else? Some of the rubble on the ground near one of the impact craters began to stir. The party began to ready themselves, wondering if the Sableye had retreated to make way for a possible leader, until Lunatone seemed to abandon all reason and hovered directly over it. Meiru perched on top of Lunatone once again, with the rest of the party watching from a safe distance, as what seemed to be a rocky spike jutted out from below. Suddenly, the party saw a flash of memory, or a vision of sorts. They saw Lunatone traveling through the skies with other star-faring Pokemon such as the Carbink that had fallen in these fields, shining radianty until something collided with the group. Lunatone and this figure tried to shield themselves, only to end up being knocked out of the sky in opposite directions. Then a swarm of Sableye emerged, similar to what the party had seen just now - though the party was not yet present in this vision. The Sableye were engulfed in flames for their trouble, and they elected to entomb... Whoever this was, for it became increasingly clear to the party that this memory did not belong to Lunatone. Breloom and Delibird decided to leap into the crater to help free this Pokemon from their tomb of rubble as Lunatone began to spin in circles as it hovered above, now certain of what they had found. Soon enough, a Pokemon with a stony face etched onto a crimson red sun burst forth from the ground. It hovered into the sky to join Lunatone, and Meiru flew off from her perch as the pair began to dance around each other in the air. Meiru admitted to the rest of the party, "I suppose we all have questions, but we should permit them a moment to themselves." The man from earlier had returned, seemingly with reinforcements and supplies from the village. Saito asked, "Saviour? I'm not sure we did much of anything besides driving back this ambush. Last time we checked, we haven't found what you were looking for when we got here, and we haven't discovered what's causing these Pokemon to fall out of the sky like this. But I'm glad you're safe, and it seems you were successful in defending your village as well." He offered the party a reward from the village, though Saito initially wanted to refuse. "We actually found that which we sought after we drove away the beasts here, but we should get to the bottom of all of this before we depart." Yet before Saito could hear his response, the whole party suddenly found the landscape shimmering, much like how they had arrived to this time to begin with. Saito thought to check the book, and the words on the pages vanished as the party soon found themselves back in the Archives - with Solrock floating alongside the party and the bag of gifts that the man had presented to them before. "I have so many questions," Saito sighed. "And I as well, Meiru replied. "For one, is this truly Lunatone's partner, or a vision from our wishes manifest into reality through the power of these archives?" Lunatone seemed convinced that the Solrock was indeed its lost partner, and that was enough for the rest of the party to drop the subject then. But before Saito shut the book to return it to its spot on the shelves, he briefly saw a sentence write itself across the blank pages, existing for only enough time for him to read it. 'The original version of events would have seen this Solrock break free from its prison to save the village, and then lead the villagers and the other fallen ones to drive away the gem-eaters from their lands. It would remain dormant throughout the ages within the village as it awaited news of the Lunatone, even when the village was later abandoned, with the last villagers unaware that Solrock was anything more than a decorative relic and thus never roused it from its sleep. Through your wishes, you and your companions have entered into the tale to take Solrock's place in the tale of its battle against the gem-eaters, with the villagers gaining the courage to drive away the threat thereafter. As for Solrock's new fate... That is yet to be written.' Saito found a Level Ball among the gifts, and pointed it towards the Solrock. "Lunatone had been searching for you all this time. Your purpose now fulfilled, there is nothing to keep you both here with us... But we would be glad to have you join your strength to us while you are deciding on what to do next, as there are many among us that are still searching for our own answers. Is that agreeable?" (OOC: I will be using my Shiny Spray on the Solrock, and declaring its Terra type to be Fire. Thank you so much for this adventure!)

Lugh was equal parts in disbelief and amazement. It was like he had found himself in a completely new world – a completely new era, even. Was the magic of the Archives really that powerful? And if so, didn’t that make them exceedingly dangerous? If people could indeed travel through different timelines, and impact them in any way, didn’t that make the Djinn’s Archives the most perilous creation in history?... Still, he had been raised to maintain composure at all times, even if he faltered at times. His heart sang with the possibilities before him, even in the face of blistering heat, armed angry locals and a Tyranitar… but his upbringing prevented him for bursting into a barrage of excited questions. The men, already weary of him, probably wouldn’t appreciate it if he did, either. Hammurabi’s presence wasn’t doing them any favors either, but in Lugh’s mind the Iron Valiant was his equal, and deserved to see the world before them without being confined to his Ball. I can understand them. It stands to reason that they should understand me as well. He lifted his arms, slowly and apologetically, signaling he meant no harm. “There seems to be a misunderstanding. I come from… hm, very far away, most likely. But I bear no hostility – please lead the way and I’ll follow.” Lugh didn’t exactly feel wronged – their actions were more than justifiable – but he didn’t feel threatened either. Not while Hammurabi was with him. Despite being well aware of Tyranitar’s prowess, and deeply admiring the Pokemon for it, he was confident his partner would be more than a match for it if talks went south, if only because its Type affinities were a perfect check for the kaiju’s. Eyes filled with wonder, looking everywhere in almost childlike curiosity as they went, Lugh let the armed men lead him into the underground facility up ahead. “Say, I must have suffered from some terrible heatstroke. I don’t suppose you could tell me where we are?” It might not be the best time for small talk, but he was desperate to know where (and when) the Archives had sent them. As if anticipating scarce cooperation, Hammurabi tensed up, ready to retaliate if the men chose to attack Lugh for his impudence… |

Sneaking around the Star Frontier in order to get to the root of the truth… Then there was the biggest hurdle, going back into Phantom Isle and even encountering the lord of the void, Giratina itself and becoming someone worthy enough to aid them in their quest… It’s been an interesting year. Of course he thought about actually taking a proper vacation, somewhere in a resort area, hoping to lounge around and goof off for once without something serious from occurring…he would never have that type of luck though. He started off in Fizzytopia with a train bomber, barely getting out of it and only confronting his first catch in the brand new region. Then there was the incident he encountered in Tales, the desert island, after running a few errands as a hired help to a scientist in a lab, coming back to witness the place trashed and the Professor attacked and in the island of Whale, he discovered a cult of people that had an eerie connection to that first adventure that started him off. The vibrant unknown labyrinth of Astoria had engaged him in more twists and turns than he was perhaps even prepared to encounter, he was amazed when they finally made it out alive, providing him with a means of new found strength, then there was the previous Phantom Isle adventure that always seemed to stop and replay in his head but never truly explaining its end… There was no shortage of excitement in his life, but he often wondered what life might have been like if he hadn’t lived the type of life he did, maybe these sorts of adventures that put him on this path may have turned out different, not that he would change anything, for he knew if he hadn’t been there in those pinnacle moments everything he did, everyone he met, the outcomes of those journeys he took may have turned out completely differently if he hadn’t been there. Now here he was, he had come in possession of a number of ancient relic, some pertaining to the ancient lore of one very specific target of his…Arceus. There was no question that just anyone would go and want to meet the great deity and while his character was quite questionable, the things he had done in this world were nothing short of selfish, would a god want to meet a man of his caliber...of course he had his own reasons too but he figured there was no need to pursue such earthly desires, but who was he or even his Pokémon to the god that created everything? He had soon found the entrance to what he understood was the buried library, he had even brought the tablets along with him and the most important one of them all…the Legend Plate but he was unsure if the plate would even grant him an audience with god and he was unsure of what that would even entail but here he was, as he reached the reception’s desk, unsure of what department of the library to explore, he hoped maybe someone or something could guide him. “Hello, is there a librarian that can help me?” OoC: Using the last legend slot (3/3) & 4th slot to journey to meet the all mighty Arceus. |
