Suggest DS games

I finished my second playthrough of Ace Attorney and Justice for All and I'm not ready to go back to Wild World/Mario Kart/Diamond. And I finished Breath of Fire in the GBA slot as well, so now the only thing that comes to mind is more Mario Power tennis.

For the sake of ABL's sanity, this must not happen.

So. Suggest awesome DS/GBA games for me to play.

The world ends with you is definitely worth checking out. If you play it a good amount though it'll take like a week to beat.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars and Chrono Trigger.

Am I in the club?

Is the DS Chrono Trigger significantly different from the SNES version? I have been meaning to get Phantom Hourglass when the price drops enough, but I can't justify paying $35 US for a five hour game.

Thanks for the suggestions Jami' and VGM. More are needed though.

Its not that different, slightly enhanced but definatly worth it.

Price wise, I'd suggest buying an R4 for about $20 and downloading ROMs onto your DS. That way you get any game you wanted.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (the GBA one). Because it's inherently superior to FFTA2 on the DS. Hotel Dusk for the DS is also good, as is Professor Heinz Wolff's Gravity.

R4 is just a storage device for ROMs. ROMs can be found here, take a gander at the choices, pretty much every game is there.

I don't know about America, but you can get them pretty cheap. I bought mine here but I have no idea if they ship over. If I were you i'd type in 'Buy R4DS into google.

Treep, is that the one where you get the DS cartridge with a slot for a tiny memory card thing? (pardon my lack of techno-speak)

My cousin has it and I should be getting it soon. His has 46 games on it. Full games like Diamond and Pearl, Mario Cart, Ben 10: Alien Force etc.

I don't care for video game piracy, but I also don't like misinformation, so two short tidbits and then I'll hold my tongue:

First, the R4 is deprecated and will not work with many newer games. If you are interested in obtaining a Slot 1 flash cart device, I would not recommend getting an R4, especially if you are interested in pirating NDS games published in the last 2 years.

Second, the "tiny memory thing" is a MicroSD card. It slides into the top of the flash cart, which in turn is slid into Slot 1 (the NDS port) of the Nintendo DS. Some flash carts operate as Slot 2 devices, but I don't think any of these are as robust as the Slot 1 devices.

It is indeed, I have a 2GB one and its serving me fantastic. I got Platunim two days after it came out in Japan. It was great.

Considering it worked with my Platinum and a lot of my other games, i'd say its safe that it works with Most.

Does wifi still work? I'd think not because of the need to connect to official nintendo wifi, but if so I would never need to buy another game 8D

I rarely buy any DS games these days, I think besides Super Mario DS, Pokemon is the only DS game I bother with in my free time.

IIRC you cannot connect to Nintendo WiFi Connect while using your flash cart device.

I don't know the full list of games. However, I would be surprised to hear you say that your R4 works with the NTSC version of the game. IIRC you specified that you got the game days within Japan's getting it. This means you're referring to the 1½-year old Japanese release. And like I said the R4 became deprecated roughly 2 years ago. JPN Platinum may have made the cut, but I'd be surprised if NTSC Platinum did too. Surprised, but not very very surprised. It doesn't really concern me. I don't pirate, and I don't own an R4. If you own an R4, are interested in piracy, and can continue to pirate contemporary NDS titles, then good for you, I guess.

Back on topic. Muyo, I suppose you've been playing Elite Beat Agents already, right? Also, if ye couldn't get enough of Contra 3, Contra 4 is just awesome and hardcore. On the GBA slot, I can never get enough Fire Emblem. Which reminds me that I need to play Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon right *now*.

Out of curiosity, do you own and have you completed the third and fourth games in the Gyakuten Saiban series? I think you should play the third one (Trials and Tribulations) if you haven't yet. It's much better than the second one in the series. I myself haven't played the fourth yet, although I do own it.

What kinds of games do you like? If you like the Phoenix Wright style of video games, I've heard good things about Hotel Dusk. I own that one but haven't played it yet either. If you like puzzle-solving, then you can't go wrong with Professor Layton and the Curious Village.

See: The Trials and Tribulations thread in this forum. Haven't played Apollo Justice yet, though, looking for it at less than $55.

I'll look into Tactics 2, as it's the only consensus game so far. And I've already played/beaten the first one.

It's possible. I've never actually completed the second one, because I just couldn't force myself to keep playing after about an hour. Maybe it picks up, I wouldn't know.
