Windows XP anti-malware updates extended thru July 2015
Microsoft has decided to silently continue to issue security updates through July of next year. They're not going to offer any customer support or anything for XP, but they'll continue to release upgrades that combat the latest system-hijacking malware. Why? Because apparently 25% of Microsoft operating systems are still Windows XP. This despite the much-publicized announcement that support would cease for the 13-year old operating system this past April. Apparently the bulk of the computers are business computers. System administrators have hidden the aged computers behind security walls running Windows 7 or Windows 8 or some such, but I guess they didn't do a good enough job and business-compromising malware is still finding its way on. As a result, Microsoft felt obliged to get involved.

Yep. Almost all the Dell terminals in every hospital I've worked at ran XP if it had an operating system, some had software so primitive now they could almost be called firmware!
