Spinda {10} Do or Die for Croagunk and Nid.

They find themselves slowed down, and thus, susceptible as Duskull blasts them both with Psychic. Though clearly having taken a particularly large chunk of damage, Croagunk manages to unleash a pair of Dark Pulses.

"Croagunk, try the Faint Attack on the Duskull!" Looker commanded. "Then hit them both with Rock Slide!"

"Duskull, two Psychics again! Take out that Croagunk!" the grunt ordered.

"Frillish, hit the Nidorino with BubbleBeam, then Shadow Ball!" shouted the other grunt.

Croagunk is clearly winded. Being Poison/Fighting, it has a massive weakness to Psychic moves, and isn't likely to survive another onslaught like that one. If you're not careful, you could find yourself flying solo in this match. Luckily, the Ghost-types aren't looking so hot either. Blizzard didn't do as much to Frillish as it did to Duskull, but Croagunk's Dark Pulses had really helped. You might need to get creative if you intend to pull out a victory here.

What will you do?

OOC: You're allowed to order up to two attacks per round, by the way.

Vege used Blizzard but it was not good enough for the Frillish and the Duskull but Croagunk's Dark Pulse. was very good. Croagunk being the Poison/Fighting is a massive weakness to Physic moves and one of the enemy was using Physics. Vege has to do something to help Croagunk stay in the battle with Nid till the end.

Vege came up with a plan. He said," Nid its time for Do or Die. If we don't help Croagunk he would not be able to help us till the end. So listen to me carefully. First run and stand in front of Croagunk. At that time use Protect so that the protect would cover both of you. After get aside so that Croagunk can make his move and when you have moved aside use Sucker Punch on both your opponent to make them feel some dark attack." Vege turned to Croagunk and told him to stay in this battle with him.

OOC: Can i bring my Charmander to the battle to get some help.

OOC: You can, but Charu won't be much help- he only knows Scratch and Growl, so unless you buy him a TM, he's not gonna be doing much of anything to Duskull and Frillish.
vegetunks937: Nidorino lunged in front of Croagunk, and put up a Protective dome, successfully blocking Duskull's first Psychic attack, as well as the BubbleBeam Frillish was aiming at Nidorino. Once the attacks had been launched, the Protect vanishes, and it is clear that the move had winded Nidorino somewhat. But there was no doubt that it had worked! Once Nidorino stepped aside, Croagunk suddenly ambushed Duskull, scoring a direct hit with Faint Attack, and then a number of red portals appear above both enemies, from which a large quantity of Rocks then Slide down, nearly burying both ghosts. Then, as Duskull readies another Psychic, and Frillish prepares for Shadow Ball, Nidorino launches into his own ambush, his Sucker Punch catching both ghosts off guard. Both of their attacks are misfired as a result of Nidorino's attack.

"Now, Croagunk, another pair of the Dark Pulses!" ordered Looker.

"Duskull, change of plans!" one grunt shouted. "Get that Nidorino! Leer, then Shadow Sneak!"

"Frillish, use your BubbleBeam attack once more, then Bind the Croagunk!" the other grunt yelled.

Things seem to be turning in your favor now. Duskull and Frillish have both sustained considerable damage now, while Croagunk and Nidorino are still in decent shape. Protect was rather draining on Nidorino, though, so a repeat of that might not be the best idea.

What will you do?

Last round was going as Vege planed. His strategy was perfect and all was going according to it. But seeing Nidorino to be very helpful to them in this game they then told their pokemons to attack on the nidorino.

Vege said,” Do you people want to taste some fire pokemon. You will get it. Charu get out and shopw them your new power.” Vege threw his pokeball. A figure of red color got out and changed into charmander. Vege added,” Now taste the true power of my starter pokemon. Charu use your Hidden Power {flying} on Duskull and show it what’s hidden in you. After that when Frillish will use bind on the croagunk at that time use Hidden power on Frillish.” Vege was very happy as after all these time his charu got a new power.

vegetunks937: The grunts burst out laughing as you call out Charu. While obviously not a weak Pokemon in and of itself, your Charmander was obviously less prepared to take on these Ghosts than Nidorino was.

Charu calls upon his Flying energies, and sends orbs of Hidden Power flying at Duskull. The attack hits Duskull for decent damage, and disrupts its attempts at Leer. It still manages a Shadow Sneak, however. Nidorino, having been given no orders, did nothing to stop the oncoming move. Then came Frillish's BubbleBeam, striking Croagunk, Nidorino, and Charu. Croagunk was not harmed at all, and basked in the bubbly onslaught as its Dry Skin kicked in, healing its wounds. Nidorino grunted a little, but Charu screamed in pain as the powerful super effective Water-type move made contact. Your Charmander slumped to the ground, one-hit-KO'd by the move. While Hidden Power wasn't a bad idea, it would really have been worth your while to just stick to Nidorino for this fight. However, the grunts seem so distracted by the situation that neither of their Pokemon are able to defend against Croagunk's Dark Pulse attacks, and major damage is dealt. Frillish had been going in for Bind, but it flinched from its Dark Pulse.

"That was indeed not the most smartest of the strategies," Looker whispered, "but I will say of this much; it did allow for a most adequate distraction. Still, such risks, sometimes it is simply not worth the taking." He then turned his full attention back to the battle. "Croagunk, the Faint Attack once more! Aim for whichsoever you please, and do a Dark Pulse unto the other!

"Frillish, two more BubbleBeams!" one grunt commanded.

"Duskull, two Shadow Balls!" the other grunt shouted.

You return Charu to his Poke Ball and size up the situation. Thankfully, Nidorino didn't take too much damage from the BubbleBeam and the Shadow Sneak, and Croagunk's Dark Pulses were really making their mark now. Both Nidorino and Croagunk were at the advantage in terms of health, though Protect had whittled down Nidorino's energy reserves. He still had plenty left, just a little less than the other combatants right now.

What will you do?

Vege knew that this was going to happen because his charu was nothing in front of the Bubble Beam. He used it to get some distraction. He called back charu to the pokeball and said," Well it was to distract you people."

He turned back to Nidorino and said," oops sorry, I forgot to make you attack on them. Well now use Sludge Bomb on Duskull and then use Venoshock on it. Use Thunder Bolt on Frillish. This time use the most you can use of it.Don't underestimate me."

vegetunks937: You play off your grievous error in judgement as though it was all part of your plan. Then again, maybe it really was? Irregardless, Nidorino acts on your orders, and fires off a Sludge Bomb at Duskull as Croagunk slams Frillish with a Faint Attack. Then, as the attacks cease, Duskull and Frillish simultaneously begin to glow. Uh-oh. You can only look on in horror as the glowing fades, revealing a Dusclops and a Jellicent standing before you. Looker's Pokemon are undeterred by this, however, and continue with their attacks. Croagunk's Dark Pulse catches Dusclops hard, and Nidorino follows it up with a Venoshock. Unfortunately, Sludge Bomb failed to poison it, so the attack didn't do much. Poison moves aren't that effective on Ghost-types, though it can't be denied Dusclops felt those moves. Then, Nidorino zaps Jellicent with a Thunderbolt, and the freshly evolved Water/Ghost type moans in pain, though is still airborne. The Ghost-types take their turn to attack, with Dusclops firing a Shadow Ball at Croagunk, and another one at Nidorino. Croagunk takes the full force of its Shadow Ball, while Nidorino barely evades his. Next comes Jellicent's BubbleBeams, and while Nidorino takes hard hits from that move, the grunt was clearly not thinking straight, for the BubbleBeams cannot avoid also hitting Croagunk, whose Dry Skin takes in the moisture and uses it to heal the Poison/Fighting-type.

"Croagunk, take out the Jellicent with ThunderPunch, then the Dark Pulse on the Dusclops!" ordered Looker.

"Jellicent, Bind Croagunk, then Shadow Ball Nidorino!" commanded one grunt.

"Dusclops, hit them both with Psychic attacks!" the other grunt shouted.

You might have pulled off a win this round, only Duskull and Frillish chose one hell of a time to evolve. This revitalized them somewhat, though they are still really weary. Right now, the match could go either way.

What will you do?

The last round was good but the hell that happened can make the match go either way. Frillish evolved into Jellicient and Duskull into Dusclops. “What the hell was that. Why can’t my pokemon evolve like this?”Vege said sadly.

“But not to worry Nid, I have a plan. Come here.”Vege said. Nid came to him. Vege told him that I am going to order confusion buit if it failed then evade every attack coming towards you and jump. Now go back and remember this. Nid nodded his head. Vege added,” Okay then it’s time for the game. Use confusion on both pokemon. Make them confuse and then do Rock Smash on the ghosty Dusclops. Don’t underestimate me and good luck.”

You have been going around in circles for what seemed like hours. Having absolutely no luck figuring out where you were, you give up and take a breather by a log that you swore you’ve seen before on this trek. When you sit down, you pull out your Pokedex, the computer that led you into this problem. Frustrated, you smash the device into the ground, leaving it unresponsive. It probably wasn’t the smartest idea to attack the computer that held your map, but you couldn’t help it in your fit of rage. As you settle down, you pull out a cigarette and light it up, the familiar fumes calming you down. Probably not the best thing for you, but it was what you do when your emotions get out of your control.

You look over at your partner. The Ralts has been an emotional weather vane for you and had always stuck by your side. While the little psychic type was as used to camping outside as you were, he had already started to drift off to sleep. You were inclined to follow. Even though it was getting late, you figured that a little nap wouldn’t hurt. Maybe after a little shut-eye, the map would make a little more sense. You butt out your smoke and close your eyes, hoping that you didn’t sleep too long, or else you’ll have to spend the night in the woods. And that certainly didn’t sound promising.

***

Close by, there was a Pokémon who had a different sentiment about the approaching nightfall. For them, night was a prosperous time for hunting. A time to be free and to be the top threat of the forest.

As it lay in wait for the sun to set, a scent reached its nose. This scent was familiar, harsh, potent, yet only associated with only one thing.

Humans.

Curious, the Pokémon tracked down the scent. What it saw brought a grin to its face. Two figures fast asleep, resting against a fallen log. A human and a smaller Pokémon, a Ralts. It was perfect, as if it was made for it. Now for it to get down to work.

***

You wake up feeling refreshed. Looking at the sky you see that you only had about an hour left of sunlight. You might’ve had the time to get out of the forest if you knew where exactly you were going. As you reached for the pocket you discover that your pokedex wasn’t there. You frantically searched around, but it appeared that it had vanished. You curse aloud and at your cry, Rags woke from his sleep and looked up at you. Looking at your partner helped you calm down and with a sigh you reach for a cigarette. After a moment, you realized that your pack of cigarettes had disappeared as well!

What will you do?

"Aahh! Where's my Pokédex!" Lucas started searching all his pockets frantically looking for it. He started removing every little piece of trash he had kept inside them.
His yell woke up his Pokémon Rags. Rags gave out a yawn and asked his trainer what was going on. Upon hearing his trainer's explanation, the Ralts started panicking as much as his trainer. The trainer right now, decided to be the more level-headed of the two and remain calm.
Rags was running up and down in panic which only frustrated Lucas more as it made it hard for him to calm down. "Rags! Calm down." It didn't work. "Rags, please shut up!" It didn't work. Lucas tried one last attempt and tripped his Pokémon as he passed by him for the umpteenth time. The little Pokémon dove forward and landed with minimal bruising. Non, in fact.
"Ral," he said calmly. (Thanks) It was just what he needed to calm down. He stood up and looked at his trainer, wondering what the plan was.
"It's simple really. The sun is almost setting, so we should ignore the loss of my Pokédex and continue to search for a town. A Pokédex is something irreplaceable after all. Not worth risking our lives over. I'm sure the professor would understand and give us a new one." Rags mulled over Lucas' words.
"Now," he continued. "We both saw the map quite a few times so we must remember which way we had to go from here. Right?"
"Ral." He nodded in agreement.
"So...?" They both tried to remember which way they had to go.
"It's that way/Ralral ru." The pair of them pointed with confidence in opposite directions of each other. They both remained silent.
It would seem that neither of them really remembered which way they were heading.

"Okay, let's take some time to think." Lucas reached for a cigarette to boost his logic thinking (so to say). He couldn't feel them in his inner pocket. That's odd. He checked his other inner pockets. Also empty. His back pockets, front pockets, none of them contained any of his cigarettes.
Lucas' eye twitched a bit. He didn't really need a cigarette, but now that he didn't have any, he REALLY wanted one.
"Some-one." Rags looked up in confusion to his trainer. His words were almost like a stutter and a vein was swelling in his forehead.
"Some-one. Stole. MY. CIGARETTES!" Rags was slightly frightened by his trainer's sudden outburst. "I swear Rags, that I will find the thief and bring him to justice and most of all; that I will get my revenge." Rags let out a deep sigh. It was a bit weird that Lucas didn't care so much about the theft of his Pokédex, but he was going to go all out for barely half a pack?
Rags didn't notice at first, but Lucas had already stormed off into the forest, taking the middle path. Rags quickly went after Lucas. At least one of them was going to have to think straight.

vegetunks937: Vege relayed his strategy to Nidorino, ordering him to evade any moves that came his way should his Confusion attacks fail

Croagunk made the first move, and thankfully was able to knock the Jellicent out once and for all with a well placed critical hit ThunderPunch. The Ghost/Water-type was withdrawn back into its Poke Ball, the grunt roaring a stream of swearwords the entire time. Nidorino fired off a blast of blue energy from his eyes, the Confusion striking Dusclops as Croagunk followed up with Dark Pulse. Dusclops attempted a Psychic attack, but the Dark Pulse made it flinch. Nidorino then launched the second Confusion, and the Beckon Pokemon keeled over at last. *Looker's Nidorino grew to level 31!*

"Hah! And again, hah!" Looker exclaimed to the now somewhat fearful-looking Team Rocket grunts. "And now, it gives me supreme and great pleasure to place the slimeballs which are you two under arrest!"

"Think again!" one of the grunts exclaimed suddenly as he produced and threw a Poke Ball. "Weezing! SmokeScreen!"

In a flash of light, the light purple form of a Weezing materialized. "Weezing weez," both heads groaned as jets of thick, dark gas blasted out of its pores, the SmokeScreen blanketing the whole area within seconds. The smoke fades as quickly as it came, but now the Team Rocket grunts are nowhere to be seen. Looker, however, ushers you in one direction, motioning for you to follow him down a path. The two of you hurriedly recall the Pokemon you used in battle, then get moving.

"I have heard their footsteps," Looker explained. "It is this way they went!" However, their footsteps could no longer be heard. Then, Vege and Looker arrived at a fork in the road. "Blast!" exclaimed Looker. "And I cannot tell as to in which direction they have gone! Or indeed, they could have traveled off the path altogether as well," he added, noting the stretch of grassy land which lay before them. The path to the left seemed to lead to a big city, while the path to the right appeared to lead to a large mountain. Looker looked at you expectantly, as though awaiting your input as to which way you both should go.

What will you do?

Vege grew happy as his strategy worked very well and they won. But after losing one of the grunts used Weezing and left the place. Vege and Looker ran after them to catch them. There steps was not hearable by them. Now they were in a fork in the road. The path to the left would take them to a big city but the path to the right would take them to a large mountain.

Vege took out his Town map and watched it carefully. "If they have run into the big city it would have been a problem for us. But people like them won't be going there and would be going to a large mountain to hide themselves. Let's go there, i think the whole team would be hidden there," Vege said like he was a detective.

Looking at your distressed little bird, you recall his pantomime. He'd pointed to one of the walls, and to the sky, and to Chingling. What on earth could he possibly have meant?

With your hands still clasped firmly over your ears, you stand up and approach the wall Torchic pointed to. There doesn't seem to be anything particularly special about this wall: it looks just like any of the others you've seen in the maze thus far. You crane your neck to look up at the sky. "Is there something up there?" you wonder. "Did Chingling come from there?" You try to stand on the tips of your toes and see if maybe you can look over the wall ledge; but you knew it was impossible before you even began, and the walls which tower over you just seem to mock your feeble attempts. But looking back up at the sky ...

... you see a Taillow overhead. It seems to have something in his mouth. A twig, maybe? Chingling continues to wail and wail; as it does, it catches the attention of the Taillow, who looks down in your general direction. And that's when it happens.

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRNGH!
*ZHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*

The Taillow is quite literally blown away by an intense blast of white energy. It lets out a tiny squawk-chirp as it is carried away by the bright white light. Or at least one can only hope it was carried away by the bright white light: because all that remains of the Taillow once the beam fades away are a few blue feathers that are lazily falling down towards the ground. But before those feathers fall, while the white beam is still very much in your sight, ...

... the item that was in Taillow's mouth lands before you. It was a twig. Poor little Taillow was probably bringing this home to help build or patch up a nest. Only now ... now the twig he selected for his nest lies atop a small pile of dirt in this forsaken maze, and Taillow himself lies who knows where.

Whether the roar, the sudden appearance of the light beam in the sky, or the twig that just landed only a few feet away from it, ... whatever the cause, Chingling has stopped crying, if only for a little bit. It sniffles its runny nose, a faint ching-a-ling noise made as it does.

What do you do?

The wailing was driving Alice and Torchic to their wits' end, but then the Chingling fell silent, and so did they. The two of them stared up in unison as a Tailow was blown away, possibly even obliterated, by a white blast and a mighty roar. The teenager's legs quivered, her whole body shaking like a leaf.

"We need to get out of here. And we need to get out of here now!" She insisted, turning on her heel. The action made her sick to her stomach. "Chingling, please listen to me. We found a blue orb. Do we need to use it for something? Can you show us where it goes?" She asked, her little bird chirping along as an urgent translator. "If we don't get any help, we might get lost, and we'll end up even worse than that Tailow. So please. Do you understand?" She asked, sounding soft, but firm throughout.

The Labyrinth of Koros
Meetan: if you weren't terrified before, you sure are now. Having just witnessed a Pokémon obliterated by an intense, enormous beam of white light, you realize that you are in a truly dire predicament. This maze is no walk in the park: it's a life-or-death ordeal you've found yourself in, and somehow ... somehow, you've got to get yourself out of it.

"We need to get out of here." Panicking. "And we need to get out of here now!" You're definitely panicking. "Chingling, please listen to me," you say, turning to the petrified bell Pokémon. "We found a blue orb. Do we need to use it for something? Can you show us where it goes? If we don't get any help, we might get lost, and we'll end up even worse than that Taillow. So please. Do you understand?" Torchic is chirping along with you, repeating everything you say, desperate to help his trainer out of this bind. But the Chingling just looks up at you both with a confused frown. It sniffles. Ching. Again. Chiiing. It quietly utters a few words, barely audible, to your attentive partner. Suddenly, Torchic grows excited and scampers off towards the twig that just fell down. He picks it up, then places it down again and calls out to Chingling. Picks it up again in his mouth, tilts his head sideways, dragging the stick through the sandy dirt, then puts it down again. Chingling seems to understand, and you watch, dumbfounded, as suddenly the twig floats in midair. Chingling's body is enveloped in a gentle glow of blue energy, pretty and calming to look at. He appears to be using some sort of telekinesis on the stick, and he starts to draw out a picture in the dirt:

What do you make of Chingling's picture? (Click here for the outlined version if you're having trouble making out Chingling's lines in the dirt.)

vegetunks937: Looker nodded in response to Vege's reasoning. "Mm-hmm," he said thoughtfully. "Yes, true it is that the large mountain would serve as a good spot for hiding. Having said this, it is also true that they may very well have anticipated this, and could have easily went and relocated themselves back to the city with the very intention of throwing us off the track. On the other hand, the low-ranking scumbag members of diabolical organizations such as the team of Rocket, they tend to be, how you say... stupid. Yes, yes, very likely it is that they took the obvious route. The observations of you are quite good," he added to Vege with a grin. "A very formidable detective you might very well make one day. Well, now, with no more hesitation, off we go!"

With that, Vege and Looker set off in the direction of the mountain. It was a long walk. And then, just as they reached the base of the mountain, there was a loud rumbling sound. Looker hastened to pull Vege off to the side, just in time to see a greenish, spherical blur go rolling right past them. This blur was of a formidable size, and judging by the rumbling sound it was making, it was heavy enough to render them both flatter than a Stunfisk.

"That was so very too much close," stated Looker. Just then, the rumbling came to a stop, only to be replaced by a series of heavy crashing noises, each one sounding closer than the last. Those crashing noises... yeah, they were footsteps, as you very quickly found out, for approaching them from the direction in which the object had rolled was a large greenish spherical thing, with brown arms, brown legs, and a brown head.

The Golem opened its mouth and roared loudly, glaring at both Vege and Looker.

"Hmm," Looker remarked. "It would appear as though this wild Golem believes us to be intruding upon its territory. A battle seems to be very much most inevitable right now."

Indeed, it looks that way. However, with Charu out of the action for now, and Nidorino and Croagunk both having sustained heavy damage from their prior battle, the only Pokemon between Vege and Looker at full health is his Escavalier. Oh, and escape? Not really an option. There's rock all around you and Looker, and the only way out is, of course, through the Golem.

What will you do?

Both of them went towards the Cave. Looker pulled Vege out of danger of a big ball rumbling towards Vege that would make them thinner than Stunfisk. Vege giggles as he thought this. They heard some foot steps. They ran towards it and found a Golem. It was not happy because we came into his territory without permission. We cannot escape and our pokemons are also so weak.

Vege said," Why are you so unhappy." Then he turned towards Looker, giggled and said," I think he is unhappy because we didn't took an appointment to meet their boss." Looker told him to have jokes apart. Vege said," Okay, jokes apart, we should fight it or else what can we do to get rid of this big ball of rock. You can bring out Croagunk or Escaliver and while my Charu is out of action, i can only bring the Nidorino given by you. And if any of your pokemon has a status alignment tell me, i have 5 castelia cones that would help it." Vege takes his hands to it's belt and threw the pokeball in air given by Looker. A purple line flashed out and gained the appearance of Nidorino. Vege said," Nid here you go, Poison that big ball by using Toxic on it. Then use Counter and at last Double Kick. Don't let that beast live."

Nid nodded his head and was ready to attack.

vegetunks937: Looker gives Vege a stern look. "This is not the time for the joking," he admonished him. Vege started to get serious after that, and sent out Nidorino.

The battle began. Nidorino started with a Toxic attack, which Golem was not prepared for. Though badly poisoned, the Rock/Ground-type managed to come back by stomping the ground in a Bulldoze, a powerful Ground-type technique which was thankfully partially blocked by Nidorino's Counter. Most of the attack's might was deflected back at Golem, and though this dealt significant damage, it came at the price of a large chunk of Nidorino's energy. Nidorino then went into a Double Kick, from which Golem recovered somewhat quickly before blasting the Poison-type with a Flamethrower. Thankfully, there were no burns that you could see.

Though Golem has already taken significant damage, Nidorino's energy levels have been greatly affected by its usage of Counter. It would be highly inadvisable to use Counter again, though your strategy thus far appears to be working alright. In spite of its low health, however, Golem still has plenty of energy in the tank, and judging by the angry look on its face, it's more than ready to put it to use. Nidorino, conversely, has decent health, but is starting to run low on energy, so the moves it uses next should be selected with more care.

What do you do?

With the end of the first round of battle with the rock beast, Nid’s health was good but his energy tank wasn’t good after the three moves. The vice-versa happened with the rock beast. His health is low but its tank had plenty of energy filled in his tank. Vege should do something that could beat this beast easily without wasting so much energy.

Vege said,” Nid, you look a little tired, sorry I forgot that you had been in a match before. Well this time first make him confuse by Confusion. Use Rock Smash to smash that rock beast into pieces. The confusion will help us in beating that rock beast. Don’t underestimate that beast, you have my count on you.”
Vege turned to Looker and said,” Well I hope this wouldn’t take much energy from him.”

vegetunks937: Looker nods in response to your voiced hope that your orders wouldn't put too much strain on Nidorino's wavering energy levels. "I do not think that the orders you have given will be too much particularly strenuous on him," he stated.

Nidorino, at that moment, launched a Confusion attack, and while it didn't succeed in confusing Golem like you had hoped, it did do some decent damage. This, however, does not stop Golem's next attack, as it pulls in its arms, legs, and head, and rolls right into Nidorino, glowing with Bug energy. The Steamroller attack wasn't very effective, but Nidorino felt the damage in any case. Then, he charged forward, Smashing his horn into the Rock-type with great force. Golem groaned as the attack lowered its Defense, but quickly Curled up into a ball to rectify that.

Golem has definitely taken some significant damage this round, what with Confusion targeting the lesser of its two defensive stats, and Rock Smash targeting its weakness to Fighting. Those sorts of strategies are likely to be crucial in determining the outcome of this battle. However, it might also be good to bear in mind that Golem can also use Ground moves, which Nidorino would be weak to...

What do you do?

With the glass-like shard in your pocket and the sketch of the letters tucked into your backpack, you turn the mystery over to Matthew, who is all to eager to scamper alongside the trail of shards. Despite his small size, he soon forces you to jog in his wake to keep up, leaving the brightness of the entrance falling behind you. There's something about this place that excites him, quite besides the siren song of adventure. There's a sense of something in the slightly damp air that invigorates him, pumping sap through his veins just a little faster. It's as if something is calling silently out of the shadows, and though the two of you can hear nothing aside from the sound of your feet against the earth, the excited Budew subconsciously seeks to answer.

If only you could be so confident. Maybe it's just you, but this cave is still hair-raisingly eerie. Despite your purple-enhanced vision, the size of this place still keeps its further reaches hidden in darkness. Long roots hang like stalactites from the unseen ceiling, and despite the fact that their lower portions are fairly visible, their shadows are oddly nonexistent. It's a tiny detail, probably not one you'd notice under normal circumstances, but the sight is uncomfortingly uncanny. The problem of the cave's size is already wreaking havoc on your understanding of physics, and the additional confusion doesn't exactly help.

As the two of you continue along, you begin to notice the ground isn't quite as firm as you'd initially thought. It gives under your shoes ever so slightly, and with each step you need to exert just a little extra effort to lift it out of its pull. It's not quicksand by any means, more of a slightly muddy consistency, but the tiny sucking sounds made by your walking creep into the silence all the same. Squick. Squick. Squick.

You've only been walking for a few minutes, although it feels quite a bit longer, when Matthew slows to a halt with a questioning exclamation. Catching up, you notice a wide tube of what appears to be wood loom suddenly out of the gloom, stretching from floor to unseen ceiling. A tall hole in its side faces you, and upon peeking in you realize that not only is the tube hollow, but it also houses a series of glass-like slabs spiraling upwards in one direction and downwards in another, forming a bizarre staircase with each stair about a foot above the one before. The transparent slabs closely resemble the shards that you've been following, and so it's easy to notice the faint pulsing light deep in the depths beneath the stairs below. Above there's no such light, but in the absence of your squishy footsteps you find that listening hard reveals a faint dripping noise up there in that mysterious darkness.

A contemplative noise from your Budew brings you back to your current location, and your attention is brought to another set of crudely drawn sketches. To one side of the hole is what appears to be a thick arrow pointing up, positioned above an X; to the other, a similar arrow pointing down and right below an O. The trail of shards ends here, but from what you can tell the cave continues on, stretching further and further into unseen shadow.

What will you do?

Thanks! Also, if I'm messing up any characterizations here, please let me know.
Sorry about the wait, Pest. :P

Following Matthew, James ran ahead to catch up to the Budew. He was only a few feet ahead, he thought, so he would be fine. His mind was occupied with other things at the moment. How did this cave work, exactly? The massive place should've collapsed on itself by now. Better yet, what was that purple rock made of? Matthew certainly didn't care about any of this, only wanting to find what was ahead. The sound of the Budew's stubby green legs slowly became a slurping sound over the previous taps against hard stone. Eventually, Matthew stopped in his tracks, and James tripped over him.

"Thanks for the warning, buddy..." He mumbled, pushing himself to his feet. Matthew ran up to him, gave him a quick look over to make sure nothing was majorly wrong, then ran over to what he had saw. A massive cylinder of wood stood within the cavern, with a hole in the side just large enough for James to squeeze through. He poked his head in and saw a glass stair case of sorts, seemingly made of the same material as the shard he had picked up before. Matthew took no time, jumping into the hole and standing on a stair. "Up or down?" James said, noting the symbols on the bark of the tree bearing a resemblence to the ones before. Matthew gave a shrug the best he could, implying that James should make a decision for once. "Last time it was O above X... So go to O first maybe?" James said, unsure of himself. "Not quite feeling safe..." With that, James reached into his bag and felt around until finding a Pokeball. Tapping the button, the ball cracked open and released a purple-tinted Natu.

"This will end in tears." The Natu said telepathically to all, looking at Matthew.

"You're an optimist, clearly. Down we go, then." James crawled into the wooden stairwell, and carefully began descending downwards.

The Hemlock Caverns
Tyoyo3131:
With your Natu’s less-than-encouraging words hanging in the air, you decide to go downwards as the O’s arrow indicates. When you take your first step into the tube, you suddenly realize that slipping on these stairs might result in several broken limbs at best; yet despite the smooth texture of its material, the stair beneath your shoe offers surprising traction. Matthew hops down a stair at a time, unworried about the danger a single misstep can offer.

As you descend the staircase with great care, now with Alexander along for the journey, the entrance slowly spirals out of sight behind you, soon vanishing into the gloom above. The only source of light is the one beneath your feet, which glitters through the translucent stairs. The shimmering effect is disorienting, and you take care with every step. The stairs may not be slippery, but they’re certainly steep.

The further you go, the more the insistent dripping sound fades into the distance above you, until it simply sinks into silence. Only your shoes and Matthew’s feet, echoing lightly through the tube, give the place any semblance of life. Despite the fact that this staircase is far less spacious than the cavern before, it feels just as large and just as empty. Minutes pass, enough so that even the dizziness of continually spiraling gradually disappears. Over time the pulsing light below eventually grows closer, larger, and brighter, until suddenly the rays it casts seem to fill your whole vision.

Because of this, you only realize you’ve reached the bottom of the stairs when you take another step and end up stumbling forward in search of a stair that isn’t there. Panic streaks through your mind for a split second before you slam against the ground, which fortunately isn’t hard enough to leave your with more than a few bruises. Matthew, who doesn’t seem to have shared your misfortune, seems slightly amused as you groan and begin to push yourself up.

The moment doesn’t last, however; Matthew’s eyes quickly widen as his grin fades, just before a heavy boot presses against the small of your back.

“Don’t you move,” its owner says, breathing raggedly. “Don't you dare move. That goes for your Pokemon, too. Any of you so much as twitch the wrong way and you’ll get a few bullets for your trouble. No funny business here. Just tell me who you are and how the hell you found this place, and I might just let you up. But there is a wrong answer, so watch what you say!”

You carefully lift your gaze to see that the stranger is a rather thin blond man in his prime, wearing a dirty white lab coat and a guarded expression. Past his glare you can catch a glimpse of the source of light: a greenish-purple stone that looks strangely familiar. Your curiosity is piqued, but considering the pistol aimed directly at your head, it’s obvious that you’re not the one asking questions here. Not yet, anyway …

How will you respond?

Not a problem! Don’t worry about it.

After your frantic search for your missing belongings and still not having a clue where you were and where you were going, you strike off in a random direction hoping to track down the thief who took your Pokedex and cigarettes, or at the very least, get out of the woods. While you weren’t as panicked about the Pokedex, the fact that your cigarettes were also lifted made it personal. Heedless of your little Ralts’ advice, you trust your instinct to guide your way.

And as it turns out, trusting your instincts this time around actually worked. Twenty minutes into your hike, you see a light off in the distance and some smoke rising over the treetops. Knowing that these were signs of someone else here in the woods, you immediately head straight for it. Soon enough, you discover the source of the smoke. You find a small log cabin nestled among the trees. Judging from the light coming from it and the smoke rising from the chimney someone was home. Chances were that the person inside knew how to get out of the woods, or even at this late time, let you stay the night. But then it struck you that perhaps the person who stole your stuff lived here and it might not be a good idea to wander into the home of a thief.

You pause to collect your thoughts, and then realize that your partner Rags wasn’t right behind you. In your blind rage, you must have left the little psychic type in your dust. You weren’t too concerned about him losing you, the Ralts could track you psychically. You guess you could wait for him to catch up, but the cabin was right there almost beckoning to you to knock on the door.

What do you do?

OoC: Took me a while, but here:

"Look! Over there, there's smoke! A clear sign of cigarettes. Let's go!" Lucas geared up his speed another notch to get to the smoke that was coming from beyond the trees. He didn't pay attention to what Rags had to say. He was going to retrieve his cigarettes! And his Pokédex of course.

"How disappointing. It's just a cabin." Lucas sighed at his apparent misfortune. "Can't I get a break? I just want to catch the thief."
...
"But wait! Maybe the thief is inside and we can catch him then." It was clear that the young man wasn't thinking straight, but he still waited to hear Rags' response.
...
"Huh? Rags?" Looking behind him finally, the trainer could notice that his Pokémon was missing. Apparently the Ralts had tried to warn his trainer but he didn't listen to him. In his haste, Lucas had now abandoned his only Pokémon (at this time) in the woods.
Stupid, stupid, stupid, he thought to himself, hitting his head with each word.

Folding his arms out of slight frustration, he sat down with his eyes closed to gain a little peace of mind. Slowly inhaling before exhaling he could feel his tension slipping away slowly thereby allowing him to think more properly.
Rags needs help, but on the other hand there's a cabin. Mulling it over, he had finally made his decision. Rags was a Psychic Pokémon who can slightly sense feeling and the smoke was evident, so he could possibly find his way back. Now the cabin on the other hand...It's obviously inuse. Whoever is inside might help me. They might know the woods well enough to help find Rags or at least give directions out of the woods. However...If they're not friendly, it might be disastrous to enter the building. "Hmmm." If he had been paying attention, he would have noticed his face was looking more and more pensive, almost like he had just bitten a fresh lemon.
If the person inside is the thief, I'll still have found who I'm looking for.
It's decided.
Standing up, Lucas headed towards the cabin, ready to knock on the door. To him, the pro's weighed out the con's and it was worth the risk to ask for a little help.

----------------------------------------

It was a gorgeous afternoon in the Ocean of Mystery, almost unseasonably so. Crystal clear water stretched as far as the eye could see, whilst a warm sea breeze fluttered lazily through the cloudless sky, buoying the flocks of Flying Pokémon that glided along the horizon.

This is the life,” said GZ, lighting up as he took in the view from the beach. Sporting some pastel blue swimming shorts and a pair of BlackGlasses that he was using as shades, the young trainer was currently sunbathing, as he had been for the last hour. After his last excursion through the harsh and unforgiving Silverton Ranges, he’d thought it would be nice to journey through somewhere a little more relaxing, and the wide open sea seemed just that.

Unable to find a captain willing to take him through the area for some strange reason, GZ had spent the majority of the morning swimming through the ocean, guided by his recently acquired Luvdisc, Cora. Whilst he could’ve had her simply tow him along with Surf, but he didn’t feel the need; GZ was an excellent swimmer himself. What’s more, the sea had been perfectly calm all morning, contrary to all that nonsense the sailors at the harbour had talked about raging storms, and ships that never came back. In fact, keeping each other company, the pair made such good time that it was barely noon when they spotted an island in the distance, and decided to rest up at it.

“Scaredy cats,” GZ thought, as he took a drag from his cigarette, tipping the ash into an empty crisp packet from that he’d finished earlier. His chest a little sunbaked, GZ flipped over awkwardly so that he could lie on his stomach, so that his chin rested on his rucksack, which was doubling as a pillow. Glancing to the left, he could see that Bramble, his Turtwig, was already way ahead of him. The serene Grass turtle was now lain in the same position as his owner: stretched out on his stomach, happily absorbing the intense solar energy raining down upon them. Gage, on the other hand, couldn’t be more alert, though at first glance one would think the little Roggenrola was dead to the world. Standing still as a statue to GZ’s right, the Mantle Pokémon was listening carefully to their surroundings, acting as guard at GZ’s request. Aside from those two, however, everyone on GZ’s active team were safely tucked away in their Poké Balls. Whilst he would have liked to enjoy the weather with everyone, GZ wasn’t comfortable letting out more than a couple of his teammates on unfamiliar territory and even then, there was at least one Pokémon he definitely wasn’t letting out unless he could give them his undivided attention.

Nevertheless, GZ pushed that last thought out of his head. Today was a day for relaxation, not worry. After all, they were on a remote, uncharted island, in the middle of a sea almost no one frequented, and he’d told exactly 0 people where he’d be today. What could possibly go wrong?

Jakken walked onto the beach with his Zubat, Talluz, and his Eevee, Shinkaron, alongside him. Shinkaron was playing by the edge of the water, seeing how close he could to the waves without actually touching them, but Talluz was, as usual staying as close to Jakken as he could without touching the water.
Even though Talluz was afraid of the water, as he is about anything he encounters for the first time, Jakken loved the water, since being blind wasn't really a disadvantage there, as pretty much everyone was blind underwater.
Jakken went to join Shinkaron by the water, but Talluz, being the stubborn Pokémon that he is, refused to go anywhere near the water, and decided that he’d watch Jakken’s stuff.
Jakken watched Shinkaron play and pondered on what he wanted to evolve into, he seemed to like the water, so possibly a Vaporeon, but at the same time, his care for others seems more like an Espeon. Jakken decided that he’d not waste a good day, and try to figure it out later.

Ohohohohoh~!

Welcome, I will be your updator for this evening, any problems you have let me know through PM!

Ocean of Mystery -Please reply in deepskyblue

Green Zubat

Taking some time off for a little R&R after a somewhat vigorous adventure in the snowy alps you and your companions have arrived on a tropical island that the locals at the mainland are too scared to travel to; telling various tales of the eerie things that tend to happen here.

Even the captains of the mightiest of ships have refused to guide you on your voyage. Leaving you forced to go by yourself. But it isn’t all too bad for more than mediocre swimmer like you.

Lying on the sandy beach shaded by the jungle undergrowth you fall sound asleep listening to the soothing sounds of the oceans waves and lose track of time when in the distance you hear what sounds like a gun shot.

Startled by the noise you wake to your body guard Gage jumping up and down frantically mumbling something to you as if trying to tell you something, it seems he had been trying to wake you up for several minutes now but you just wouldn’t.

You look above to the bright sunny sky where you find 10’s of birds fly away from the direction of where you were sure you heard the gun shot.
You begin to wonder what was going on here when Gage turns to the direction of the wildlife, he hears it first but little by little you start to hear a low rustling sound.

The sound is low but you make it out to be the sounds of footsteps rapidly moving toward you.

As the seconds pass the louder they get and you realize that whatever was making the noise was coming straight toward you!

Quickly you wake the rest of your team and ready yourself for whatever was about to jump out of the bushes in front of you.

What do you do?
