Yeah, I'm not the biggest fan of the Valentine Ball design myself, but I still do like the ball's concept- only allowed to use it to contain a Pokémon that has a lifelong mate.

Congrats on the double evolution, jj! Y'know, maybe I could give the His and Her Heart Pendants to my own butterfly/moth pair. Severus and Fatale seem to be doing pretty well. At least, I think so. They spend a lot of time together, and Severus hasn't died of blood loss, so at the very least Fatale tolerates his continuous presence.

Tbh my only problem with this event was the 'His and Her' pendants, since the implication's rather heteronormative. I know I'm not the only person who cringed at those either, but eh.

To be 'fair', the items themselves originally appeared in a time when homosexuality wasn't quite so openly accepted by most. Not that it makes much of a difference nowadays, I guess...

The Pokémon don't even have to like each other at all. The male/female is just based on sex and says nothing about how any of use RP our Pokémon's gender or sexual orientation. And besides, unless you're very involved in Trainer Battles the items have no effect anyways, so you can still do whatever the heck you want with it.

But that said, maybe for next year a "Two Piece Heart Pendant" specifically for couples of any kind would be an idea.

There are lots of dumb gimmick moves that they haven't gotten rid of. Splash still exists. :P

Splash exist for Z-Splash.

Splash, when powered up into a Z-Move, raises the user's Attack by 3 stages.

And no, Attract doesn't lower Attack- I think you're thinking of Charm.

Ok, as much as I'm all for that side of social equality, maybe that's going a little too far. We wouldn't want to deny cryogonal of its only niche, now would we?

Also, it just dawned on me that my Passion Pokeblock might just go bad before I even get the chance to use. All of my pokemon are out doing other things right now~!

I still keep my expired Pokéblocks past their expiration dates. I just move them from the Pokéblock and Poffin section to the regular Items section and make a humorous change to the flavor text to indicate "It has expired and is starting to smell." In fact, looking at my member post, I still have my Passion Pokéblock from last year's Valentine's Day event. I actually used several expired Pokéblocks in a zone once, to lure a flock of Golbat all into one spot at the same time so Hermione could trap them all with a single Electroweb.

Reminds me of a White 2 nuzlocke I did where the naming theme was action heroes...Tony Stark, being a Magnemite, was totally immune to Attract, and the irony was not lost.
