Agreed, Kairne (ninja EDIT: and TDos). They went off on a tangent about education and Romney mentioned his state's test scores. C'mon guys, keep it on topic.

I don't know why they bother with questions really. I think Romney and Obama are going to be talking about the Economy, Education and Small Businesses even if Schieffer asks them the time.
The best part of this debate is the Live Gifs. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012...e-in-gifs-live Everyone loves silly faces. Last edited by Lonely Cubone; 10-22-2012 at 08:53 PM. |

I had thought America as a people were starting to outgrow the rampant Islamophobia and Communism-phobia(?). I'm sad to report otherwise.

So, which one's telling the truth? Good question... Disliked their domestic policy tangent.

I'm now annoyed at Obama's misuse of the word "decimated"
"Decimating" Al-Qaeda's core leadership wouldn't actually be all that great a result considering the efforts put it. |

Well at least we can both agree Obama's lying. XP
Probably both are stretching the truth some, but I still think Obama says the most untruths. |

Are there even 10 main leaders of Al-Qaeda? I have no clue. If not, then it's really not worth it. Even if there are, still...

Quit watching because bored (which is surprisingly difficult to do with me with foreign policy, so ...) + distracted. What exactly happened that makes you say this? The whole overall debate? Or a specific zinger that just came in (if it's even still going on)?

Watching from abroad, I'd say that was a 0-0 draw, worst debate of the three and no real interaction, just lots of stating already well known positions.

This has been the most boring and uninformative series of debates out of the four elections' debate series I have been alive and sentient enough to experience.
Honestly, they might as well not have happened. |

Romney needs to win Ohio to win the presidency. Therefore, the election is likely to go to Obama. Romney's map to electoral victory is one where he needs Ohio and Florida to get to 270 and he doesn't seem better than 50/50 in Florida and is at least 75% likely to lose Ohio, according to stats collected from a wide swathe of polls. If this debate didn't move the dial much in Romney's favor, he's pretty well done.

The Finnish media declared Obama the winner of the last debate and there's plenty of notions that "we bet Romney really regrets having jumped on the Obama Show".

Tried to watch it again last night. Got bored (or more correctly got put off by both candidates' behavior) 15 minutes in again. ^^;
Listened to the podcast version of it early this morning. Fell asleep 45 minutes in (WTF ^^; ) and woke up periodically to Romney talking about Massachusetts schools and Bob Scheiffer begging to get back onto the topic of foreign affairs before finally waking up and staying up for the final fifteen minutes or so. Though there was one hysterical, (unintentionally?) trolly moment on Obama's part where it went something like this: Romney: blah blah Massachusetts schools blah blah blahI was like "Oh come on " with Obama at that part. But Romney was definitely the worse of the two for this.

Last nights debate would've been much funnier had they employed a guy just to turn their microphone off every time they went off foreign policy.

I have had similar thoughts but perhaps a bit meaner: last night I imagined electrical shocks ŕ la Peter Venkman in Ghostbusters and previous nights I've just considered a rude, harsh "And that's time. Moving on ..." followed by "MOVING ON!!!" the first few times the candidates try to whine for more time to talk.
