The Harbowl
I'm not watching it, but I'll keep score. It's like a Yankees-Astros World Series.

El Plato Supremo: The Big Plate featuring the San Francisco 50-1ers and the Baltimore Blackbirds.
Yawwwwwwn. I hate both of these teams. At least they aren't the Steelers or the Pats, though. Last edited by deoxys; 02-03-2013 at 06:11 PM. |

Arbitrarily rooting for Ravens because animal mascot > human mascot.
Will predict a final score of 34-27, Ravens win.

Even though I'm a [San Francisco] Giants fan, I'm not really big on the Niners because obnoxious. Like, baseball's most intolerable franchises pale to the ignorant stupidity of handegg fans, so I couldn't stand the heat or the frothing zeal. Hence, I don't really have a strong football team bias and usually root for the under-dog. Parity!
That said, I predicted the Ravens to win it all in pre-season, but now that the Niners are here, I'm a bit more torn. I want to see SF lose because of the Kaepernick-Smith controversy, that shouldn't be justified in a sport that already doesn't protect its players, but I want to see Smith get a ring after what he went through, too. What happened last year against the NY Giants was stupid and was only justified by the Patriots getting steamrolled.

TV not working and I don't care much for sports so..
I'm playing video games, working on the UPN game and getting live updates of the Puppy Bowl from the internet. |

Didn't realize it was going on until a couple hours ago, and that's only because the pizza I ordered is plastered with advertising for it.
I've been spending my day reviewing perfect and pluperfect middle/passive forms and watching a walkthrough of FFVII. |

I never would have imagined this to be a slugfest. I was expecting a close, defensive game, not something where defense is non-existent.
And Talon's prescience is frightening.

I had no fucking idea the Super Bowl was even near. I saw chips and salsa in bulk on display or on the whatthefuckever you call it, but I thought nothing of it.
Maybe this is why the stores were so obnoxiously crowded? It's been a while since going to town has pissed me off that much. "You want to go get some stuff in that isle? Well you can piss off, because it's full of assholes who want to take up the whole god damn isle!" |

I just tuned in. Less than two minutes left and SF is about to score a TD that would put them in the lead... damn
edit: Nevermind |

What exactly happened here? I was watching the play-by-plays and still don't understand why they couldn't score that.

So, thanks to a friggin' Budweiser commercial , I've listened to this old Fleetwood Mac song quite a few times tonight. Couldn't get the indescribable "best part" out of my head.
Not really sure why Flacco got the MVP trophy. He, uh, did okay, I guess? I felt like the Ravens' more important player in this game was Jacoby Jones who, amongst other things: Quote:
Quote:
And as if that weren't enough, he had another touchdown too, meaning he lent the Ravens 12 of their 34 points. Now granted, you can't catch the ball without a quarterback to catch it from in the first place, but still. I thought Mr. Jones was much more impressive whenever I saw him on camera. Mr. Flacco did not strike me in the slightest as being the next John Elway, Joe Montana, Peyton Manning, etc. But meh, whatever. Not my sport, not my decision, not my trophy to feel upset I didn't win.
