Yes, congratulations are in order.
The Golett I caught has a Sp. Atk IV of 31! Zekrom also has that for HP. Unfortunately, Serperior sucks according to that guy. Really low stats and decent Speed IV. :/ (can IVs be passed down through breeding?)

I used serebii's IV calculator to roughly work out my in-game team's IVs. They where all quite shoddy (no stats above 25). I'm not as interested now though due to my new WPA wifi settings ;;

Yes they can. There are some items which were hard to come by in DPP and relatively easy(-ier) to come by in HGSS which help out with that. Unfortunately, since GameFreak are a bunch of tools and have decided to forbid importation of items from previous games , you'll have to reacquire all of these items here, at the Gear Station.
Or in your case since you have a ROM, you could just give them to yourself. But if you want the leatherneck experience of earning them for yourself , then step right up and be prepared to earn 96 Battle Points (16 for each IV-passing item). I should point out: these same items help you to gain EVs in their respective stats while you go EV training. But they help to determine inheritance of IVs when you make the parent hold onto them in the Daycare. So they're multi-use items that are well worth your while to acquire. They make EV training less of a chore. I'd rather do away with the chore completely, but minimizing the chore is of course welcome. EDIT: Wow, how dumb am I? Totally neglected to mention the items' names. They're all sports equipment-sounding names that begin with the word Power, so like, the Power Anklet, the Power Bracelet, etc. You'll know 'em when you see 'em: their icons are of what look like athletic wristbands made to soak up sweat but of different colors from the rainbow for each.

Managed to get the Electric Gym badge yesterday team consists of:
Smuglord - Servine Bingo - Herdier Hookah - Whirlipede Woody - Gurdurr Carrier - Tranquil Toadsworth - Palpitoad I'm really not liking Servine line, I've always gone Grass first time, but I just can't warm up to it, Replacing it when it evolves not sure what my in game team is going to be but Palpitoad, Gurrdur and Whirlipede are going to be in it ass well as Darumaka's evo and Galvantula..not sure about the last one though. Fighting the electric gym..was still thinknig why the hell isn't Emolga a Pacharisu evo, jesus..it's exactly like it. Last edited by Arnold; 03-15-2011 at 10:24 PM. |

Because there can't be any evos.
None. At all. See also Alomomomomomomomola, which should be a Luvdisc evo. Also thinking of restarting White since I've run out of stuff to do. Y/N? Mono-bug or mono-water?

7 Water-Type lines, there's not a whole lot of variety this gen ;;

You want lack of variety? Poison. There were something like 13 Poison-type lines in Gen I. In Gen V? 3. Scolipede, Garbodor and Amoonguss.
If I went with Mono-water then I'd likely go for Samurott, Simipour, Seismitoad, Carracosta, Swanna and Jellicent. If Bug, then Leavanny, Scolipede, Crustle, Galvantula, Durant and Volcarona. I'd go for Accelgor, but retarded evolution method is retarded.

Mono-water sounds much easier for the first half of the game. Mono-bug sounds much easier for the second half of the game (including the Elite Four). Technically speaking, though, you can't really do a mono-bug run of this game until after you get to the second gym city. Which is better, I admit, than trying for a mono-psychic run in this game. (LOL, some "run" that would be! )
But seriously? You're bored already? I may not like the generation or GameFreak's practices (either as a business or as a group of programmers), but even I think the game has as much after-material as some of the more recent installments in the franchise. Did you get bored with D/P in just two weeks, too?

Started Monday and decided to Nuzlocke it the first go around. Was going well up until last night when I ran into a double-battle with a Lv. 16 Timburr and that tadpole with a human face (creepy, btw) outside of Nacrene City. My previous experiences with Timburr alone had been very close, though they had always, always used Rock Throw and none of whatever Fighting move they had (guessing it's just Low Kick at that level). Regardless, had my Lillipup Buddy and my Patrat Mare at the front lines, both at like Lv. 15 or something and thought they could take him down before he did too much damage, but he critted Buddy with a Low Kick and then finished Mare off the round after that. It was awful. ;_;

Just fought the single most annoying battle in the history of mankind.
My level 39 Sigilyph vs Rangers level 34 Maractus. Every single one of my PP in psybeam and air cutter was wasted as Sigilyph missed for no apparent reason.

Restarted after the 3rd Gym as I had acom to the decision that:
Oshawott > Panpour/Tympole Cottonee > Pansage/Snivy Pansear > Tehpig/Darumaka About to battle Lenora. Going to find a Timid and Hasty Synch Munma for my Cottonee and new Pansear (this one is sassy. Need more speed). |

Bahhh. Have completely neglected my homework in favor of playing this game. Trained everyone to Lv. 19 before beating Lenora; Abel the Roggenrola thing made it very easy, Mudslapping both of her guys to hell and then Hardening up. Lost Io, my Tympole, to a Dwebble in Castelia Gym. She was Lv. 22 at the time, was starting to wonder when she would evolve. Disappointed but once Yuri the Panpour learned Scald it was alright. Ave Maria the Tranquill made quick work of Burgh, and just replaced Io's space with Squall the Darumaka from the Resort Desert (after killing a Sandile on Route 4, which I was rather disappointed about).
Very excited about this game. |

I'm going to restart, and start the game off using a Deino as my starter, if I can get that to work. I did it with my last play of RBY using Dratini and had a lot of fun with it. Grinding wasn't actually boring, for some reason.

Darmanitan looked like he might be cool. But having to endure up to 10 levels of Darumaka and Hustle was just not something I was willing to Endure.

Now I have an additional goal: Find a Luvdisc and nickname it Muv. I'll deal with it. Using Dratini in RBY wasn't exactly a picnic, either, since Dratini only had Wrap as its offense and that lead to prolonged battles of choking enemies to death. Even as Dragonair, things didn't improve tremendously. I remember hitting Dragonite by the Saffron Gym and Safari Zone and causing massive havoc, so that's a good incentive However, since BW is still new, the codes are a real mess, and there's no organization when it comes to telling people how to make them work. I found one that supposedly does what I want, but it's not working for who knows why.

You didn't say "on opposite's day" anywhere in your post, just FYI.
