Poffins do make lower-stat treats due to using only one berry with the resulting poffin based on the in-games stats of the individual berry. If I go adding extra berries to the mix there is no formula which is why I've not gone there.

Pokéblocks have higher stat gains because they use more berries, the resulting treats also based on the in-game effect of the berries.

Both treats are based on old games though, and more recently I've been looking at newer stuff with plans to revamp the Pokétreats Store.

Because it's a quiet shop I've not bothered to prioritise it but I don't mind fixing it up if it's wanted.

So...anyone remember that Spring Safari thing that happened a few years back? I still have one of those Pokemon, and I'm wondering if we're free to do whatever we want with those Pokemon at this point, whether it be trading it off, putting it in the Adoption Center, or whatever. I for one would rather not have mine burning a PC slot that I could use for something else.

I personally would like to continue it but I don't think many people are willing to take up the mantle of organising and updating it, and many probably won't even return for it. As far as I know, unless I'm mistaken and others say they're interested as well, the Pokémon remains in your possession to do with as you want.

It's probably best to consider the event closed and to reclaim the Pokémon donated. Perhaps unclaimed Pokémon can be placed in adoption? If one of the original participants is wanting to make the official closure post being sure to return all Pokémon to their original owners please let me know, otherwise Arn, Arc, or I can do it.

Hey, quick question! I think we've had a pretty stable member base for the past few years, with several players sticking around for quite a while and remaining active (though I can't compare to how it used to be in the older days of FB).
That said, would mods be open to reinstating the Gym circuit in some sort or fashion? I won't put forth any scenarios for now in case it's something that's out of the question for the moment, but I thought I'd ask

EDIT: Any chance mods could allow Starter Pokemon to be released (but remain untradeable)? I know it's entirely our fault if we choose a passing whim rather than an old favourite as our starter, but I personally would feel grateful if we could be allowed the chance to rectify that mistake if we do make it (which happened in my case). If it simply can't be done, oh well, no harm done. ;)

So in addition to bumping MZ's question that has been ignored so far, I had another smaller question:

In light of Ponyta day, I wanted to know if there were any plans to restart the Rapidash-dash, The Ponyta-parkour, the Blitzle-relay and the Zebstrika-sprint? Stark had plans initially for this competition and I was wondering if there were any plans still to continue the idea after his departure?

Ah yes. I had intended to reply after double-checking with the others then my computer restarted overnight and because it wasn't showing up as a new post I simply forgot.

But without the input of others for a faster response I'm happy to write something up relating to the gym circuit. We need to check on the number of qualifying trophies out there at the moment among other things so it will be helpful to pull some stats together. Starters probably not, and the races were something Stark personally wanted to run. If enough people want it we can do it, but it's not a project we would have otherwise taken on.

Is this a mod thing or a mod+ref thing that needs to be done?

I know I'm new, but I had an idea that I felt would be a good oppertunity for a tie in to Pokemon Sun and Moon. I'm placing it in Spoiler tags as it relates to the games and I don't want anyone who opens this to be spoiled if they have been avoiding spoilers.

DON'T OPEN THIS IF YOU ARE AVOIDING SUN AND MOON SPOILERS, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

So I know you all do the Ultimate Pokemon Contest, but with the revalation of Alola Formes, why not do an Ultimate Fizzy Forme Competition as a tie in to the new generation. Essentially were the members create their own Fizzy Bubbles formes of existing Pokemon line, explaining how this create changed from their original forme to adjust to a certain zone within Fizzy Bubbles? I don't know if you have considered this, but I feel this would be a great way to ring in the new generation. Probably best to wait till after the game's release to see all the Alola forms introduced in the games to avoid a user making a variant, only for a similar design to be created in the games. Sorry if I'm over stepping, as I know I'm just a new member, but wanted to throw this out there.

That's a pretty good idea, IMO. I'm already thinking up some pretty decent ideas I might enter in such a competition. And yeah, definitely best to wait for the games to come out to do something like this.

MZ: Initially mod. There are some ideas Arn and I have been tossing around that we need to run by Arc, and if she's ok with it then we can look at Refs getting involved and taking it from there.

Charzonsos: It's not a bad idea but it's not something I'd use to introduce a new generation. Definitely something I'd consider to run alongside or shortly after the introduction though.

Minor question- are there any plans to update the PokéBank over at Serebii before the end of the year? I wouldn't be asking, only I haven't yet purchased my second allowed Mega Stone for 2016, and would only have sufficient funds to do so upon confirmation of the cash I'm claiming from various zone replies. No sweat if it won't happen until next year, I just thought I'd ask.

I was going to wait till New Years Eve and mass update them all.

For now assume you have the funds and if there's a problem we'll sort it out later.

Have the mods considered hiring more shop updators recently? I know I have relatively few obligations IRL, and I'm sure other members have the time to pick up the slack, too. I don't want to be too presumptuous, since I've not been around long, but I know your guys are busy with IRL stuff, and it might take some of the burden off. Forgive me if this is too forward!

- Tate

Edit:

I had another question: the Boutique has rules regarding scars, and bars 'mutant' Pokemon. I wanted to know, what is the policy on things like congenital defects, conditions, or illness? For example, my Eevee's hip dysplasia was accepted and confirmed by the Boutique. What about something like congenital blindness or deafness? More overt malformation of a limb?

If I'm being quite honest, I ask because -- IRL -- I work in wildlife rehabilitation, and I'm developing a moral policy of only keeping animals who are in need. For RP reasons, I'd like this to be reflected by my FB Pokemon as well, with the majority of my Pokemon being 'in need' to justify their captivity. I'd like to get a better idea of what I can and cannot do so that I can RP to the best of my abilities while remaining within the confines of the Fizzy Bubbles rules.

One simply needs to ask but to make it more obvious, please see here.

Not a great fan of the idea but if it works for you just be sure not to make it too extreme.

Your reasoning is understood and respected, I have an exceptionally weak spot for animals myself, but please try to keep your Pokémon's suffering (if any) to a minimum.

Thank you for such prompt answers! (And now I apologize for asking about ZAs via PM -- I had not seen this yet!)

I fully understand not wanting the Pokémon to suffer. As FB is a fantasy, I too would prefer happy endings. Thank you for clarification; I will endeavor to keep any characterization tasteful. (Honestly, I mostly asked because I have an idea for a blind A. Raichu who 'sees' using psychic ability.)

Would this include shops that were previously only mod-run, like the Egg House, Casino and Base shops?

No, they will not change. I do admit I keep forgetting about the Casino. Initially it was because I was too tired Sunday night so meant to do it Monday then ran short of time. By the time I got around to it, it was later in the week and would need to be updated again in a couple of days so I just left it till Sunday again. That happened a few times and I eventually forgot about it being a part of the routine. An unintentional slip of sorts, but I've just now set a new alert in my phone for Saturday night and again Sunday morning to remind myself. Hopefully that'll help get me back on track. If not we'll reassess.

So most of the community has read the announcement by now, and it's safe to say that people are scrambling about on trying to decide how to move on from here.

The first questions that were on everyone's mind:
1. Is this a (late) April Fool's joke? What was the final reason that this huge decision was made? (If you don't mind me prying.)
2. What realistic timescale should we expect for this? Will all the changes happen within the next week or will this take a month?
3. Can we get an exact idea of what shops, threads and zones are or are not being transferred? A lot of adventures are currently in the Serebii zones so we'd like copies of the current ones in order to continue with them until they're done, if at all possible.
4. Would it be opposed if we created a new thread here on UPN for the current community members to discuss these matters and how we're planning to handle the changes?

There's no need to scramble, please don't feel pressured. We'll do the work to ensure the transition is easy for everyone. Most members primarily post at UPN nowadays anyway, the main difference will be that former Serebii and Bulbagarden members will now be posting in UPN shops on Monday. If you even keep the Monday shop thing going, that is. Being a UPN Home Boarder I'll be doing the reverse and migrating my own account to Serebii, but unless otherwise requested all current members will remain with you.

There are many, many factors coming into play here. Recent TO posts aside because I'd made the decision to step down before even reading them, is that none of us are happy here anymore. We haven't been for a very long time. When discussing how to go about handing things over we found that we felt we're not quite ready to walk away yet so to make all parties happy we can each retain a part of FB. You get to remake UPN's FB, and we'll keep Serebii and Bulbagarden.

If we weren't working such long hours at the moment we could probably get it done in a few days so I'm hoping it will take no longer than a week for us to finalise everything. That said, there is no final limit. If either party feels they need an extra week or two then I'm hoping the other will be happy to accommodate.

Both RPG's are FB. Both are able to use any aspects they like. We will be leaving everything here though. Shops, zones, images, the lot. You can use them if you like, or keep them in storage, the choice is yours.

Both RPG's will be heavily edited though, I'm sure, and that's where the main differences will lay. We have plans for a backstory for ours that will tie up a few loose ends, explain why it has so few veteran trainers, and set the scene for a new beginning. We'll need the islands for that.

Copies of the zones are as follows:-
Spoiler: show
Astoria
Code:
[color=limegreen][center][size=6][b]Astoria[/b][/size]
[size=5][b]The Enchanted Forest[/b][/size][/center]

[size=1]The Enchanted Forest is a special place of magic and mystery. It is said this island was created by witches many centuries ago and that powerful magic still emanates from deep within the island itself. Stories abound of a race of magical beings who lived in harmony for many centuries before a great war erupted between good and evil forces which eventuated in the almost complete annihilation of all life in the vicinity. Those who survived are said to have exhausted the remainder of their magic casting regenerative spells upon the land before leaving Astoria to allow the island to rejuvenate itself. Now, centuries later, life has returned to the island. All but one area has flourished, Pokémon have returned, and humans have once again set foot upon its shores. The amazing regenerative powers of this island have led many an adventurer to enter the forest in hopes of unlocking the mysteries within, but few have ever returned. What has become of them is anyone's guess, but of those who have come back all appear to have sworn some kind of secret oath to never reveal anything of what they have learned. This air of secrecy has only served to make people more curious, however, and as a result tourism has flourished in recent years. People are now arriving by the dozen on a daily basis to inject this once tranquil forest with new and vibrant life. Whether the forest is welcoming of this change is another matter, though time will surely tell...[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Island[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]The Island of Astoria contains several areas of interest. Some are more difficult to find than others, but all are worth taking the time to explore - except, perhaps, for the Dead Forest, but even this area contains a perk or two if you're game enough to poke around. Regardless of the area in which you choose to travel, chances are you'll come across one of the many mysterious sites on the island. Whether or not you're a believer in witchcraft, wizardry, voodoo, and magical spells, the mysterious wonders found on this island will surely test your beliefs.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Island Ports: [/b]Several bustling ports have sprouted up in Astoria. The more popular the island becomes, the more entry points are needed which has done wonders for the tourism industry. Currently there are seven ports, two in the north of the land, as well as one each in the south, east, north-east, south-east, and north-west. Each location offers a bar or hotel where you may lodge for the night before venturing off into the unknown wilderness.

[b]Shaman River: [/b]A long, winding river which gently snakes its way throughout Astoria making it a popular shipping lane as it passes through most of the islands regions.

[b]The Lakes: [/b]Many freshwater lakes are scattered around the island, providing essential drinking water. Wild Pokémon encounters are higher near one of the lakes than anywhere else in Astoria.

[b]Forest Lodge: [/b]Forest Lodge, a major hotel chain, has set up a number of sites on the island for weary travellers to rest their tired bones after a long day's travel. Comfortable accommodation is offered at budget prices, and if you're a little low on cash you're always welcome to work for your board.

[b]Nature's Resort: [/b]A luxury resort situated in a secluded cove built for those who are more interested in vacationing than exploring. Spread across several hectares of forest the coastal side of the resort offers underwater suites for those wanting to see ocean life up close and personal, while those who prefer to stay on land can reside in one of the resort's many huts designed to accommodate individuals or families. Tennis courts and swimming pools dot the resort, while many choose to spend their time out on the perfectly manicured golf course.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Divine Woodland[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]The Divine Woodland makes up a good 90% of the Enchanted Forest. Normally a very peaceful place where grass, bug and flying Pokémon thrive, the recent boom in tourism has caused the Pokémon who live here to be more cautious of the humans who have begun to invade their natural habitat. There are rumours of strange and magical happenings in this forest and on special nights, under the light of the full moon, who knows what you may encounter...

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Diamond Lake: [/b]The largest freshwater lake in the region, Diamond Lake has become a hotspot for those who enjoy water sports. Take a ferry ride, hire a canoe or jet ski, or enjoy a picnic on the shore. A great place for everyone, including families, you're sure to find something to keep you occupied.

[b]Magus Falls: [/b]A lush green area with a large waterfall that overlooks much of the Divine Woodland. You may try riding the rapids to reach the river below but most choose to take the safer option of strolling along one of the forest trails. Very scenic, your chances of running into wild Pokémon here are high as they flock to the area for access to the nearby freshwater lake. A nice spot for a picnic, or just to pass some time.

[b]Celebi's Shrine: [/b]A shrine dedicated to the Legendary Pokémon, Celebi. Under the right conditions, you may be lucky enough to be granted a quest.

[b]Augur's Temple: [/b]An old, abandoned temple. Unidentified symbols line its walls, floors, and ceilings which has attracted the attention of scholars worldwide. Island natives whisper of ancient secrets laying dormant within, but none dare enter its hallowed halls.

[b]The Labyrinth: [/b]Spreading across the boundary of the Divine Woodland and the Dead Forest, the Labyrinth covers approximately 20 hectares of land and is home to some of the most powerful Pokémon in the land. It is recommended you steer clear of the dark side of the Labyrinth at all costs.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]Eyrie Peak[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]Named after the odd shape of the mountain which from a distance resembles an eagle's head, Mt.Eyrie was feared by many ancient tribes who once dwelled in the forest. Because no humans ever set foot upon the mountain, Eyrie Peak has become a haven for bird Pokémon who have made it their nesting ground. Because of this, the recent influx of tourists in the vicinity have their sights set upon this area, specifically in the hope of finding some of the rarer Pokémon in the land. Be warned, the Pokémon nesting here are likely to be fierce and will protect their babies at all costs.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Adventure Path: [/b]Bustling with bird’s nests, this long and jagged path seems to spiral up and around the mountain leading to Eyrie Peak. Several caverns cluster the trail, all inhabited by flying types.

[b]Posy Field: [/b]An area of mountainside filled with many apricorn trees, berry plants, rare herbs and flowers. The strong scents have attracted many bug Pokémon who like to feed on the vast range of delicious nectars in the vicinity.

[b]Mystery Shrine: [/b]A shrine dedicated to an unidentified flying Pokémon. Legend has it this Pokémon is one of the most powerful in the land. Leave an offering and you may be granted a quest.

[b]Plume Mesa Ruins: [/b]Located three quarters of the way up the Plume Mesa is a village carved into the rock. You'll need a flying Pokémon to reach this amazing site where you'll be free to explore to your hearts content. Many couples are drawn here as this site is said to be a romantic spot to watch the sun set.

[b]Eyrie Summit: [/b]Overlooking the entirety of Astoria, the peak of Mt. Eyrie is known to have perilous wind currents stronger than a full blown tornado. Due to these hazardous conditions, it is unwise to travel to such an altitude without a powerful and weighty Pokémon. Trainers travel to the summit in hopes of fighting the rare and powerful flying types, but not one has returned victorious.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]Garden of Iris[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]This large garden floats high above the rest of the Enchanted Forest. The ground is made up entirely of clouds which magically both supports any amount of weight and can grow many beautiful flowers and trees. It is hidden from view so it is mostly untouched by man. The only way to reach it is to climb up an elusive rainbow that stretches from the ground to the clouds.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Rainbow Pool: [/b]An enchanted pool where no matter what the weather, a beautiful rainbow is always present. Trainers and Pokémon alike visit this pool believing that to drink its water brings good luck.

[b]Cloud Arena: [/b]A magical arena whose surface transforms to fit the specifications of the battle about to take place.

[b]Lord's Castle: [/b]A beautiful castle home to the royal family. Show them kindness and you may be rewarded.

[b]Unknown Shrine: [/b]A shrine dedicated to an unknown person. So badly damaged there is no way to tell if this statue is male or female, scholars are drawn to the area hoping to find clues to its origins.

[b]Baron's Keep: [/b]A dark castle upon a storm cloud. An incessant storm rages around this castle, the thunder and lightning making it a perilous journey for anyone but particularly for flying types. Rumour has it the Baron's Keep is hiding a dark secret of the royal family.
- [b]Sub-Area:[/b]
- [u]Anvil of Storms[/u]: An anvil where legendary weapons and armour are made, thunder sounding out with each hammer blow.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Mystic Jungle[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]Once home to many ancient Astorian clans, its amazing structures have now been completely overrun by thick jungle foliage. Normally a very peaceful place where grass, bug and flying Pokémon thrive, the magical temples of the old kingdom have brought upon strange occurrences to those passing through. Should you find yourself in the incredibly fruitful rainforest, who knows what you may encounter.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Forgotten Ruins: [/b]Now completely overrun by deep foliage, they’ve made a suitable home for countless grass types. However, stories have spread of the intricate sanctuaries filled with great riches that lie beyond the vegetation. Riddles were a popularity of the ancients, be sure you’re intelligent enough.

[b]The Monkey-Forts: [/b]If you're eager for some uncultivated antics and unruly mayhem, a cluster of treehouses bridge themselves across the lower canopy of the bustling tropics. Although their primary residents are unknown, the monkey forts are now home to a plentiful of insane primate Pokémon. Although this has become a hotspot for tourists, one should steer clear if they're not impressed by poo-flinging chimps...

[b]Shaman's Temple: [/b]This temple contains many mystical and magical artefacts. The Shamans are great healers and have the ability to perform amazing feats. Very private, the Shaman's may not welcome visitors, but will always lend a hand to those in need.

[b]The Catacombs: [/b]A vast maze of catacombs lined with the skeletal remains of humans and Pokémon alike. Better bring something with Flash if you're going to wander these labyrinthine halls.

[b]Waterfall Valley: [/b]Several waterfalls spill into this valley, the refreshing misty spray a welcome relief after trekking through the unforgiving jungle. A beautiful sight to behold, many come here for the view alone, although there is rumoured to be great treasure hidden somewhere in this region.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Lost Tribes[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]The Enchanted Forest is rumoured to be home to some of the most ancient tribes in the land. These tribes have shunned modern society and adapted to the forest so well they've become a part of it, blending into the woods with chameleon-like ease making themselves nigh on impossible to find. There are some who will pay good money for guides to lead them deep into unexplored land, however, as rumours spread of these tribes having access to ancient riches, miracle medicines, and extremely rare Pokémon. Most are simply curious, however, wondering what it must be like to live in seclusion, so explore the forest in the hope of stumbling upon one of these ancient tribesmen.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Intado's Village: [/b]The Intado, the only living tribe inside of the Enchanted Forest willing to mingle with modern-day man, are not ones to be messed with, but if you enter happily they will treat you with respect. With their primitive Pokéballs and fast knowledge of the forest you'll always be granted with amazing battles if you enter their local tribal tournament.

[b]Mozan's Temple: [/b]The ruins of an ancient moss-covered temple. The roots of ancient trees grow over the structure itself making it a magnificent site to behold. Built upon sacred ground this temple holds many amazing secrets just waiting to be found. Rumour has it the nearby battle arena was the site of many ancient battles held in reverence to the ancient gods which has begun to attract modern-day trainers eager for a friendly battle.

[b]The Wicca: [/b]A nature-loving peaceful people who worship Pokémon, the Wicca would never dream of using Pokémon to battle. An encounter with this tribe could prove to be the best or worst experience of your life depending, of course, upon your views of their beliefs.

[b]The Korowai: [/b]The Korowai quite literally live in the treetops, their homes built in and around the trunks of some of the tallest trees in the forest. You'll need the agility of a Liepard to find this tribe, but if you are lucky enough to track them down you may be in for a nice surprise...

[b]Cymerian Fortress: [/b]Hidden in the darkest corner of the forest, the morale of this tribe couldn't be any different to that of the Intado. Going anywhere near their highly fortified village will be perceived as an act of war. Breaching the village isn't tolerated but treasures beyond imagination are said to be lying around. Speared corpses found on the outskirts are sure to make you wonder if the riches are worth risking.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]Dead Forest[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]Avoided like the plague, the Dead Forest stands out as being the most dangerous segment of the Island. Cursed by the malevolent Witchdoctors of the past, it was said they turned this once thriving paradise into a barren swamp. Deadly bugs and poisonous predators are known to inhabit this marshy area and poison seeps through the trees harming anyone or anything that touches them. Cast under the great shadow of Mt. Eyrie, only the brave dare enter this jagged terrain and not so many return.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Toxic Marsh: [/b]Inhabited by countless bugs, the filth spewing from this marshy area is almost as disgusting as the rancid stench festering it. Covered by a thick blanket of fog, the marsh is almost impossible to navigate through. However, should you find yourself to the witchdoctor's old temple, the mysterious rewards are certain to make your venture less regrettable.

[b]The Burial Ground: [/b]A mile wide graveyard stricken with sludgy soil and poisonous shrubbery. Humans and Pokémon alike have been laid to rest here. However, the odd toxins found in this soil often are alleged to bring the corpses back from the dead.

[b]The Pool of Illusion: [/b]A seemingly motionless, tranquil pool with ink black water. Crafted long ago by a group of malevolent witchdoctors, its purposes are still unknown. Rumour has it that if you stare deep into its ink black depths, grave consequences will occur.

[b]The Sinkhole: [/b]Located in the very centre of the Dead Forest is a mile wide opening. Many modern scientists classify the area as a sinkhole, however the tribes once native to this region described of a colossal bog monster which gobbled many of their natives. Should you stride too far into the sludgy morass, you’ll quickly be swallowed. Who knows what awaits from there...

[b]The Labyrinth: [/b]Spreading across the boundary of the Divine Woodland and the Dead Forest, the Labyrinth covers approximately 20 hectares of land and is home to some of the most powerful Pokémon in the land. The dark side of the Labyrinth is full of danger, and who know what else...[/size][/color]
Cortoza
Code:
[color=red][center][size=6][b]Cortoza[/b][/size]
[size=5][b]The Volcanic Island[/b][/size][/center]

[size=1]Floating serenely in the middle of the ocean, Cortoza is a secluded land mass which was once a beautiful and highly populated tropical island. Two hundred years ago a powerful oceanic earthquake resulted in a chain reaction of death and destruction as Cortoza's active volcanic mountains erupted in a series of cataclysmic explosions that churned out a spectacular display of ash, rock, and molten lava, and finally ending with Mt Fumi's stupendous paroxysmal eruption. All of Cortoza's vegetation was destroyed, while humans and Pokémon not fast enough to flee perished in the resulting destruction as the western end of the island collapsed beneath the sea, generating a series of devastating pyroclastic flows and immense tsunamis that ravaged adjacent coastlines. The events of that day marked the last 24 hours on earth for over 50,000 people and 300,000 Pokémon, as the wave of destruction flowed across hundreds of coastal villages and towns. For the next hundred years nobody dared approach the island due to the constant seismic activity and mini eruptions, but for the past several decades all has been quiet. Pokémon have returned, and with very few people drawn to the volcanic island, wildlife has been given the chance to thrive. Although wary, people are also beginning to venture to Cortoza again, some of the more opportunistic seeing this land as their chance to strike it rich due to its fast-booming tourism industry. Most are curious though, as the island has shown amazing regenerative qualities, and many are eager to explore and to witness the miraculous regrowth for themselves. The tropical jungle is flourishing once more, Pokémon have returned, and as far as everyone is aware most of Cortoza's volcanoes have been laying dormant for almost one hundred years.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Island[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]The constant heat seeping up through Cortoza's volcanic soil has given the island a distinct tropical feel, a vast and winding rainforest taking up a large percentage of the land's mass and surrounding each of Cortoza's mountains. The rainforest is humid and full of life, but also very dangerous. The ground is unstable in certain areas making hiking through the forest dangerous even for the most experienced of guides. Several patches of arid, rocky land dot the island, where no vegetation will grow, and it's there that some of the strongest and most fearsome Pokémon roam.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Shale Beach: [/b]Shale Beach stretches around the outskirts of the island itself. Its sand is gritty and black, not at all the postcard picture you want to be sending home.

[b]Ignatius River: [/b]Flowing from the base of Mt. Infernus and winding throughout the island before eventually flowing into the sea, the Ignatius River is a popular destination for travellers who wish to picnic by its banks, or take a dip after a long day of hiking. Many wild Pokémon can be found wandering around here, and most are rather friendly as they've become accustomed to seeing humans wandering along the shore.

[b]Garland Basin: [/b]A large basin near Mt. Ceniza where many varieties of herbs grow. A large number of natural hot springs are found here, making it a popular tourist attraction. The effects of the herbs in the warm spring water can have various effects, some very soothing.

[b]Lake Tyr: [/b]A freshwater lake situated roughly halfway between Mt. Pele and Mt. Fumi, Lake Tyr covers an area of about 2.4 square kilometres and is over 220 meters deep. The water is a beautiful, sapphire blue, and is always quite warm due to volcanic activity beneath the island. Many people are drawn here for the spectacular scenery, but also to take a refreshing dip after spending a long day trekking across the island. What most don't tend to realise is that Lake Tyr is sitting right on top of an active oceanic volcano.

[b]Crystal Resort: [/b]A comfortable and modern resort built on the edge of Lake Tyr for the tourists who are now frequenting Cortoza.

[b]Research Lab: [/b]A division of Volcanity Inc., this scientific team has set up equipment at several locations across the island in order to study the geological effects of past eruptions on the current environment, as well as to track any current seismic activity. Sometimes they can use some help, so if you offer your services you may be able to take on a job.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]Mt. Pele[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]From afar, this mountain appears to resemble a woman whom the Cortozans believe to be the Goddess of fire, lightning, dance, volcanoes, and violence. Pele was, and still is, both revered and feared by the native inhabitants of Cortoza as they firmly believe the only way to avoid utter destruction of their land is to pay homage to her. With Mt. Pele having been the first to erupt two hundred years ago, many believe their Goddess was unhappy with her subjects, and that she had exacted her punishment upon them for having ignored their faith in her. Those who survived the initial destruction two centuries ago were sure to pass on the story of Pele to their children so that her legend was sure to live on. Today, the descendants of Cortoza's survivors hold daily rituals and monthly festivals to keep their Goddess happy in the hope she'll never destroy their homes again.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Pele's Ruins: [/b]The ruins of a thousand year old temple built in Pele's honour. Descendants of Cortoza's survivors steer clear of these ruins as they believe they have been cursed by Pele herself, and have instead built another temple in which to worship their Goddess. The Ruins have become a popular tourist attraction for visitors to the island however, a fact which makes the natives rather uneasy.

[b]Pele's Temple: [/b]Built by the descendants of Cortoza's survivors as a place of worship for their beloved Goddess, this pure white marble temple is a work of art. Etchings, paintings, and sculptures depict the Cortozan Goddess in all of her flaming beauty, and those who enter the temple are expected to leave an offering in order to keep Pele happy.

[b]Pele's Shrine: [/b]Half-way up the mountainside is another monument built in Pele's honour, this sacred shrine's centrepiece none other than a sacrificial altar surrounded by flaming torches. Chanting can be heard at night, drifting across the island, but it's the blood-curdling screams that can be heard emanating from here under the light of a full moon that keep tourists and trainers away when the sun begins to set.

[b]Pele's Cavern: [/b]About two-thirds of the way up the mountainside is an enormous cavern dedicated to Pele. Molten lava pits dot the floor, the humidity so intense that only the hardiest of fire types can withstand the extreme temperatures. Trainers will need plenty of water if they wish to enter as no human can stand the heat for more than a few minutes at a time. Cortozans believe that winning a battle here will impress their Goddess who will bestow them with good fortune after proving they are worthy of her faith, and will often challenge strong trainers to a battle.

[b]Fire Pit: [/b]Believed to be the home of Pele, the crater's magma-filled centre is well protected. Cortozan natives are afraid that tourists and trainers will not show their deity the respect she deserves and will stop at nothing to ensure nobody reaches Mt. Pele's summit.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]Mt. Fumi[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]The largest and most volatile of Cortoza's volcano's, Mt. Fumi tends to strike most who see it with feelings of awe and fear. Towering over the other mountains, Mt. Fumi is an impressive sight, but is also home to some of the most dangerous Pokémon who tend to dwell higher up on the mountainside in order to avoid the sudden influx of trainers who are frequenting the island. If you plan on taking a hike up this mountain, you'll want a powerful team by your side.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Terraki Village: [/b]One of many villages destroyed by the eruption two hundred years ago. Recently, the descendants of those who once dwelt here have returned to lay claim to their ancestral land.

[b]Fumi's Walk: [/b]A long and winding trail that twists around the volcano. If you think you have the stamina to make your way to Mt. Fumi's summit you can certainly give it a try, but beware, the trail is unstable and the Pokémon along here do not like intruders.

[b]Open Plain: [/b]A wide plateau near the mountaintop. Many travellers like to picnic here and challenge each other to a friendly battle. The views are amazing, but sometimes wild Pokémon who don't like people trespassing upon their territory are prone to emerge from the caverns dotting the mountainside to attack and scare people off. Be prepared for more than a little sightseeing if you venture this far up the mountain.

[b]Mt Fumi Peak: [/b]The hottest of all places, deadly fire Pokémon breach the edges of the volcano making the heat almost as intense as the lava inside. If you manage to make it to the top, bring a lot of water - you'll need it.

[b]Volcanic Crater: [/b]Inside of Mt. Fumi is the volcano's crater. It is hot, steamy and full of lava. While the volcano has been dormant for almost one hundred years the island is occasionally racked with powerful tremors, an indication of the fact that this thing is preparing for another mind-blowing explosion. It is rumoured that immediately after one of these tremors, some of the strongest fire and lava Pokémon appear.
- [b]Sub-Area:[/b]
- [u]The Lava Pit[/u]: A battle arena suspended over the lava where Fire Pokémon battle each other in tournament-esque matches for a prize and the glory of being crowned the champion. Trainers with Fire Pokémon often find themselves here because of their Pokémon's lust for battle and eagerness to prove themselves against other fire types. Legend has it that the king of Fire Pokémon presents the prize and crowns each new champion personally...[/size]

[center][size=3][b]Mt. Ceniza[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]Always grey, Mt. Ceniza is constantly coated in a thin layer of ash. An active volcano, she doesn't appear to be on the verge of eruption - not any time soon, anyway - but her constant rumbling can be felt by those who travel near. This mountain has become a tourist attraction, particularly for those interested in collecting ash, though the tremors felt do tend to keep the more nervous travellers away.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Cinder Village: [/b]A small village at the base of Mt. Ceniza built around a murky hot spring. Its inhabitants believe the ash filled water will cure any ailment for human and Pokémon alike.

[b]Caliente Trail: [/b]A path leading up the mountain that is always covered in ash. Not many Pokémon find the living conditions on Mt. Ceniza to be very pleasant, but those who do seem to enjoy their surroundings. Some are more friendly than others, so don't be too quick to befriend wild Pokémon seen along here or you may be in for more than you'd bargained for.

[b]Granite Tunnel: [/b]A maze-like tunnel leading up through the inner mountain. Steps have been carved into the rocks so that people can make their way to several different locations of the mountainside in order to bypass the falling ash. A preferable choice for those who prefer to stay clean, but it can get quite warm in here so be sure to bring along a good supply of water. Falling rubble can pose a problem, however, during Mt. Ceniza's stronger tremors so you'll need your wits about you at all times.

[b]Rest House: [/b]An old man living on the mountain is the only person to have returned to Cortoza decades before any other human dared to venture back to the island. He's a little strange after having lived so long on his own, but is a very friendly fellow indeed. He enjoys the company of trainers, and will open his home to anyone in need of food and a place to sleep. He makes remarkable glass sculptures from the ash he collects, and if you do him a favour you may just find yourself leaving with a unique souvenir.

[b]Ceniza Summit: [/b]Definitely not the safest place to roam. The light stream of ash emitting from its crater is very hot upon emerging from the depths of the volcano, though it cools rapidly upon coming into contact with the air. If you're unfortunate enough to be wandering about here during one of Ceniza's 'bursts' of activity, you're going to need to take cover, and fast! The land up here is fairly barren, the trees long since dead, though the odd patches of hardy plant life scattered across the summit are a pleasant sight to behold. Most of the Pokémon who reside up here dwell in caves and aren't too friendly when approached, so if you do plan on travelling here you'll need to have the ability the think quickly and decisively when dangerous situations arise.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]Mt. Infernus[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]The second largest of Cortoza's mountains, Mt. Infernus is now extinct. Many Pokémon have made their homes within the vast network of tunnels and caverns deep within the mountain, and aren't all that accustomed to seeing people. It's become the primary breeding ground for many of the rarer Pokémon who tend to shy away from humans, and due to the protective nature of the parent Pokémon, quite a hazardous area to traverse.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Waterfall: [/b]A large waterfall cascading down the side of Mt. Infernus and into the Ignatius River before flowing out to sea. Many tourists and trainers love to bask in the sun by its banks which are much more pleasant to visit than the uninviting Shale Beach surrounding the island.

[b]Scenic Walk: [/b]A long path comprised of slopes and stairs leading up and around the mountainside. With Mt. Infernus being an extinct volcano and Cortoza's second tallest mountain, most tourists feel more comfortable sightseeing from here. The views are spectacular, and there are several campsites manned my Cortozan natives who will provide food and shelter for weary travellers.

[b]Totem Village: [/b]A tribal village situated upon a mesa on the mountainside which is surrounded by totem poles depicting various Cortozan Gods. The villagers are extremely friendly and always happy to engage in friendly battles with trainers looking to prove themselves upon any of the cleverly designed battle arenas created by the villagers.

[b]Mountain Peak: [/b]A sanctuary for wild Pokémon who live amidst the lush trees found upon the mountaintop. Very few trainers have the stamina to make it all the way up here, so the Pokémon who dwell in the area have thrived in this environment. Many freshwater pools dot the landscape, but beware of the fast flowing river that leads to the edge of the waterfall cascading into the river below as no safety rails have been built to keep curious trainers and Pokémon away from the long drop over the mountainside.

[b]The Rock Pool: [/b]Deep, deep, deep, within the bowels of Mt. Infernus there is rumoured to be a secluded water-filled chamber where extremely rare and ancient Pokémon dwell. Some even say that Pokémon have mutated over the centuries to create new breeds, never before seen in the land of Fizzy Bubbles. This has never been confirmed or denied, as those who have stumbled across this chamber have never been able to defeat the Pokémon they've encountered, let alone capture them. When told to bring proof of their existence, those who have tried to return to the chamber have never been able to find it again. Who knows? If you're lucky, you may just stumble across it...[/size][/color]
Whale Island
Code:
[color=deepskyblue][center][size=6][b]Whale Island[/b][/size]
[size=5][b]The Hydro-Electric Zone[/b][/size][/center]

[size=1]A tourist magnet, Whale Island is a large region of land that was formed from volcanic activity a millennia ago. There is a strange abundance of electrical energy present on this island which, rather than posing a problem, has complemented the island entirely. The entire area is a haven for water Pokémon with even the mountain craters filled to the brim, the abundance of water sports and holiday travel locations ensuring the time you spend here is never dull. Cities and townships are located all across the island, with resorts, inns, and travel lodges in ample supply. The Hydra River is the main waterway, starting up in the north-west area of the island and down through the Central Plains where the great Hydro-Electric Dam has been constructed, before leading down to the south-eastern corner of the island and back out to sea. Whether it's action water sports you're after, or just lazing on a nice stretch of beach somewhere, you'll definitely find the place you're looking for on the famous Whale Island.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]Northern Beaches[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]Unless you're travelling along the Hydra River, the northern beaches tend to attract the wealthier crowd due to the fact the small beaches lining its shore have been purchased privately by those who have subsequently built properties by the water. Some of the rarer water and electric type Pokémon can be found along here, but if a wealthy beach owner finds you trespassing on their land there may be some unpleasant consequences.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Shell Harbour: [/b]The entry point for those visiting the northern beaches, Shell Harbour offers cafe's, restaurants, a travel lodge, and several shops. Further down the wharf you'll find a boat hire agent who can organise guided tours unless you'd like to sail solo.

[b]Opal Cove Resort: [/b]An exclusive luxury retreat on the northern beaches catering for those who appreciate the best.

[b]Raine's Wildlife Park: [/b]A nice spot for a family day out, Raine's Wildlife Park is open to visitors who are interested in seeing some of Whale Island's native Pokémon without having to venture too far themselves.

[b]Brumby Lake: [/b]A popular fishing spot for locals and tourists alike, Brumby Lake is also well-known for the riding stables nearby where you can hire Blitzle or Zebstrika and enjoy riding the many trails around the lake and surrounding bushland.

[b]Ancient Ruins: [/b]Several hundred feet from shore, and a few hundred feet deep, lay the remains of an ancient city. Dubbed "Atlantis" for obvious reasons, many of its structures are in remarkably good condition. You'll need a Pokémon with Dive if you're wanting to explore here, but be warned; many of the tunnels have not yet been mapped so take care to ensure you don't become lost.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]East Coast[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]By far the most popular tourist destination spot, the East Coast of Whale Island seems to be constantly abuzz with activity both day and night. Unfortunately the downside to this is the crime rate has risen so be sure to keep an eye out for the con artists and thieves who are looking to swindle unsuspecting travellers out of their holiday spending money. Despite this downside the east coast is a great place to holiday, especially if you're looking to make the most of daytime and night time entertainment.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Pieli Harbour: [/b]Both a large harbour and resort, Pieli Harbour is famous for the best ice cream in the land, as well as its massive shipping stations, with boats as small as canoes to colossal ferries. The resort itself is archetypical of a seaside funfair, with several small rides as well as a roller coaster and ferris wheel, though the promenade at night is a sight for sore eyes to drown their sorrows on.

[b]Ampere Beach: [/b]The largest stretch of coastal sand in all of Fizzy Bubbles, Ampere Beach is famed for its sand which contains a mild electrical current that soothes the body. This charge is the result of the high salinity content, combined with the naturally high electricity from the central regions, providing an earthing ground for the static. As a result, the beach is often used in therapeutics, evident by the resort known as Pieli Harbour.

[b]Seaside City: [/b]Built up over time, Seaside City has attracted quite a number of tourists as well as long-term residents. It is now a sprawling city with all the trimmings, including shopping malls, schools, parks, and industrial sector. With plenty to do and places to visit, you'd be hard-pressed for a lazy time.

[b]Rainbow Reef: [/b]One of Whale Island's most remarkable natural gifts, Rainbow Reef is blessed with the breathtaking beauty of one of the world's largest coral reefs containing an abundance of marine life. Whether snorkelling or diving, you're sure to become immersed by this wonderful underwater world.

[b]SS Calypso Shipwreck: [/b]Approximately ten miles from shore, laying almost 100 metres deep, lays the remains of the once magnificent SS Calypso cruise liner. Sunk by a torpedo during wartime several decades ago and killing more than 2,000 of the 2,500 passengers and crew on board, the Calypso's silent remains are said to be haunted by the spirits of those who died that fateful day. Strange happenings in the waters surrounding the wreck cause most to stay away, but there are some whose curiosity attracts them to the site.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]Laguna Peninsula[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]The Laguna Peninsula, also known as "Pirate Isle", is mainly forest and is famous for once harbouring a particularly nasty clan of pirates whose treasure is rumoured to still be hidden away somewhere in the vicinity. The peninsula is located on the south east end of Whale Island and although the pirates have long since vacated the land, they've certainly left their mark. Other than a rest house occupied by the peninsula's caretaker, there are no other dwellings here, the entire peninsula being under the protection of the Whale Island Conservation Society (WICS). It is said secret hideouts are cleverly hidden everywhere, so even if you're not aware of it you'll definitely have passed several of them if you're to take a scenic walk across the peninsula. Visit Pirate Isle and you'll be in for a jolly good time.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]The Caverns: [/b]While Laguna Beach surrounds the majority of the Laguna Peninsula, there is one stretch of coast whose rocky cliffs are not so inviting. Here the waters are quite treacherous and if you sail too close the risk of being slammed against the rocks is very high. Caverns dot the cliffside, making them the perfect hideout for the rumoured hidden treasure, but they are also home to many wild Pokémon. Explore at your own risk!

[b]The Black Swan: [/b]The Black Swan, once one of the largest and most feared pirate ships of its day, now lays rotting on Laguna Beach. Strangely enough wild Pokémon steer clear of the wreck; a sign that people perhaps shouldn't ignore.

[b]Kakatua Lagoon: [/b]Protected by a shallow sandy atoll, Kakatua Lagoon is surrounded by forest making it the perfect romantic retreat for those looking for a little privacy. It's not uncommon to find couples camping here, though the stories of hidden treasure often attract a more nefarious element to the area.

[b]Laguna Lake: [/b]A freshwater lake where the local Pokémon come to drink. People will often picnic here while trainers are more interested in seeing the kinds of Pokémon the lake attracts.

[b]Ghostly Galleon: [/b]It is said that when Black Friday falls upon a night with a full moon, the Ghostly Galleon will appear, unaware that she has sailed through a rift in time. Fact or fiction? Only time will tell...[/size]

[center][size=3][b]Central Plains[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]Mostly fertile farmland there's not much here for your average tourist or trainer although a few areas of interest do attract the more adventurous trainers. Electric Pokémon thrive out here and are often found roaming the fields. Better beware though, they're not all that fond of trainers getting too close to their young so take a wrong step and you may find yourself on the wrong end of a lightning bolt that hasn't come from the sky.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Cetus Port: [/b]The main arrival and departure area for the Central Plains, the Cetus Port is located on the banks of the Hydra River and hosts a few warehouses, a post office, and an inn. People rarely stay long here, eager to venture out onto one of the several paths leading away from the river and out into the Central Plains.

[b]Thunder Plains: [/b]The Thunder Plains are consistently lashed with vicious thunderstorms making travel for unprepared trainers a dance with death if not adequately equipped. The ferocity of the lightning bolts literally crack the hardened stony ground with every strike, and a Pokémon designed for attracting lightning is a nigh-on requisite for travelling through the plains without being smote. Indeed, such are the conditions that only the hardiest Pokémon reside here, calling the plains home.

[b]Hydro-Electric Dam: [/b]Relatively new to the island is the Hydro-Electric dam, a massive construct that has created a reservoir of water several dozen million cubic feet in volume. Chosen due it being a renewable source of clean energy, and promoted for the fact it produces no waste or greenhouse gases, the dam has become a tourist attraction in its own right, its rich power source attracting a large variety of electric Pokémon to the area.

[b]Energos Quarry: [/b]As a mine abandoned after an errant spark caused a massive cave-in that crushed hundreds of workers, Energos Quarry is full of an electro-magnetic ore that causes electrical devices to malfunction and electric Pokémon to act strangely even inside their Pokéballs. Although abandoned, there are still many gemstones to be found in the tunnels and mines within, although plucky adventurers are warned that some of the Pokémon living in the mines may be reluctant to part with the treasures.

[b]Crater Lake: [/b]Atop an extinct volcano, its crater is now a freshwater lake and home to many wild Pokémon. A travel lodge awaits weary visitors who have trekked up the mountainside, where they can rest their weary bones and have a bite to eat. Some say ancient Pokémon reside way down deep inside the throat of the volcano but nobody has been able to verify these stories.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]Southern Gulf[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]The southern regions of Whale Island are known to be beautiful grassland with rolling hills and grazing Mareep by the thousand, as well as vast forests protected by the Whale Island Conservation Society. Some unapproved logging has been taking place recently, however, causing much stress to both the WICS and the local wildlife, prompting the Pokémon to show higher levels of hostility toward trainers and picnickers alike.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Pearl Cove: [/b]The entry point to Pearl City, the southern gulf's main residential and commercial district, you're sure to find some activity with which to pass the time. The WICS Head Office is located here, as is the local Pokémon Centre, but due to the illegal logging that has been taking place in the vicinity recently the locals have become quite suspicious of strangers. Win their trust and they may be able to point you in a rewarding direction.

[b]Raikou's Effigy: [/b]A life size stone statue of the Legendary Thunder Pokémon Raikou, depicted in an eternal roar. Some say the statue is real, and that Raikou comes to life when needed. Whether this is true or not, the statue has a powerful presence and some swear its eyes follow them across the grassy fields.

[b]Blitz River: [/b]The second longest river on the island, the Blitz is a lovely crystalline river that is greatly admired. While the water seems pure, there have been reports that the local Pokémon in the region use it for all their cleaning duties, making it rather impure for the body. The fishing at the riverside, however, is unparalleled.

[b]Cascade Waterfall: [/b]The largest of a series of waterfalls along the Blitz River, the Cascade Waterfall is by far the most amazing of them all. Walking trails lead up and down either side of the falls and through the surrounding bushland, making it a lovely place to visit on anyone's itinerary. Wild Pokémon have become accustomed to the number of people visiting here and can sometimes be quite friendly.

[b]Pirate's Cove: [/b]A sizable gulf set in some cliffs, with torrential waters at the entrance preventing proper investigation. So called for the fact that pirates frequented the cove for their plunder, and located not too far from the Laguna Peninsula, the rapids have resulted in the area being less cordoned as a tourist spot. Though several people have managed to brave the waters, using their powerful Surfing Pokémon to break through, none have emerged from the hallowed cliffs, rumoured to contain vast swathes of booty.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]Western Shore[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]The western shore of Whale Island has more rocky, craggy cliffs than stunning sandy beaches, but has its own attractions nonetheless. Several villages and freshwater springs dot the area. Whether you're here for relaxation, adrenaline rushing water sports, or to find new Pokémon, you're sure to find something to keep you happy during your stay.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Delphin Harbour: [/b]A bustling harbour and the entry point for Whale Island's western shore, Delphin Harbour is practically the sister port to the east coast's Pieli Harbour. Shops to tend to most of your needs can be found upon the main strip making it a pleasant place to explore, and if you're feeling a little adventurous you can walk to the far end of the harbour to find the famous blowhole which then leads around to Delphin Beach and its accompanying boardwalk and amusement park.

[b]The Lighthouse: [/b]A lighthouse situated atop the cliffs overlooking the Delphin Heads, the lighthouse has long since been unmanned. It's light never goes out, however, despite the fact no maintenance has been carried out here for more than forty years...

[b]Suicune's Effigy: [/b]A life size stone statue of the Legendary Aurora Pokémon Suicune, depicted in an eternal roar. Some say the statue is real, and that Suicune comes to life when needed. Whether this is true or not, the statue has a powerful presence and some swear its eyes follow them as they pass by.

[b]Wet'n'Wild Recreation Park: [/b]A massive water theme park set in a deep valley through which the Centaur River flows. With many rides and water based games, discover the wide range of activities to get the heart racing, such as sky diving, bungee jumping, para-sailing and jet skiing to name a few. You can swim with the tamed water Pokémon, have fun partaking in other activities, or simply laze by a pool. However you choose to spend your time you're sure to have fun doing it.

[b]Crescent Trench: [/b]About a mile offshore is a deep sea trench in the shape of a crescent moon. Only some of the stronger Pokémon can be found here but it gets pretty cold and dark way down in the depths of the ocean. Your Pokémon will need some special training before you even attempt exploring this area.[/size][/color]
Phantom Isle
Code:
[color=slategray][center][size=6][b]Phantom Isle[/b][/size]
[size=5][b]The Haunted Theme Park[/b][/size][/center]

[size=1]For several decades this remote theme park was a popular tourist attraction for people of all ages. Starting as a small fairground it was built into the land's largest and most sought after family holiday destination, the entire island eventually converted into one enormous theme park incorporating hundreds of rides, entertainment venues, and showcases. Contests were held, friendly trainer battles took place, children were even allowed to hire Pokémon for the day to either keep them company or to battle with in special kiddie events. When the park became so popular that families wished to stay longer than a single day in order to experience everything there was to offer, a grand hotel was built offering special and affordable deals for families and trainers alike. Then one day, several years ago and during the height of the theme park's popularity, a devastating fire on the Ghost Train responsible for the deaths of several adults, trainers, and dozens of children, closed the fairground to the public. Reconstruction work began immediately, but after many unexplained happenings involving serious injury, and in a few cases the death of construction workers, the repairs were put on hold. The spooky events continued long after, with many curious trespassers, as well as the security guards hired to keep them away, disappearing, never to be seen again, or turning up on the mainland frightened out of their wits with no memory of why, or of how they got there. Any and all attempts at reconstruction have since failed, leaving the theme park shrouded in an aura of darkness and mystery. As a result very few dared to venture here, the stench of death and misery allowing the theme park to become a breeding ground for the darker side of the Pokémon world. As supernatural activity in the deserted park increased, a strange purple haze began to appear until eventually the entire island was surrounded by it resulting in a permanent state of darkness shrouding it as natural light was unable to properly filter through. This of course deterred even more people from approaching the area as they deemed it far too dangerous. In recent weeks, however, some rather bizarre events are rumoured to be taking place, and as word spreads of the park once again being open, only now run by ghosts, the theme park has been renamed "The Phantom Isle". Now, some of the more daring adventurers in the land have been contemplating returning to the park to discover for themselves if there is indeed any truth to these amazing stories.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Park[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]Despite the lack of human activity in the park during its closure, it seems those from the realm of the dead are quite active in these parts. All of the popular rides remain the same as they were prior to the ghost train event, but over time they seem to have become populated by very unsavoury characters in the form of spectres, poltergeists, and even some of the more mischievous Pokémon who want to manipulate anyone brave enough to enter such a place. If you dare to venture here, you'd best have your wits about you.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Rollerquaza: [/b]The largest rollercoaster in the park, this ride is designed around the legendary Pokémon Rayquaza and its home, the Sky Pillar of the Hoenn region. The highest peak of the ride reaches, much like the Pokémon itself, high into the clouds above the fog shrouding the park. The final drop leading the rider to a darkened tunnel where people have apparently gone missing for days at a time, reporting a bizarre force as they plunged deep into the shadows.

[b]The Funhouse: [/b]The name speaks for itself, though the fun you'll have might not be the sort of fun you are acquainted with. A strange entity exists in the building which seems to emanate evil from the walls and floors, causing even the most nimble of trainers to have trouble keeping their balance in the various rooms.

[b]Mantine Mania: [/b]A water-based ride with a twist, not only do you ride through what used to be the serene decorative gardens, there is a waterfall drop and even an underwater segment. Pokémon are rumoured to live in the water and the various surroundings, but if you plan on leaving the ride be wary of getting lost in the now-jungle-like gardens as it could prove to be a very dangerous trek.

[b]Salty Sam's Pirate Ship: [/b]Don't be fooled by its light hearted name, this pendulum-like ship ride with its dummy captain is more than it looks. Rumour has it that if the carriage goes completely upside down, the bizarre events begin to unfold with your escape being the last thing on the captain's one-track mind.

[b]Helter Skelter: [/b]Seems like your regular climb up, slide down, helter skelter but, unbeknown to its riders, there is more of a twist than you would expect...

[b]Sideshow Alley: [/b]Contains all of the normal things you would find in a sideshow with one exception - a memorial wall set up with dozens of plaques in honor of the deceased children who never made it off the ride of a lifetime. Each plaque has a space for flowers to honor their memories if you wish, but beware, for the sad and gloomy atmosphere around here attracts more than curious trainers.

[b]Merry-Go-Round: [/b]Looks just like a normal Merry-Go-Round right? Think again. Take the trip of a lifetime, or maybe just your life, and see what mysteries lie within the maze beneath the Merry-Go-Round. Not such a fun-filled looking ride now is it?

[b]The Circus Tent: [/b]Want to see the show of a lifetime? Enter the Circus Tent and challenge the bloodthirty ghosts within to a battle upon the stage. Defeat four in a row to reach the Champion - A Dark Pokémon whose identity remains a mystery as nobody has ever made it far enough to win.

[b]Fortune Teller's Tent: [/b]Situated in the shadows cast by the majestic circus tent is a much smaller tent which once housed a mystical woman who was said to have powers beyond that of a regular human, being able to see not only into the past, but also into the future. She passed away not too long before the closure of the theme park but nobody thought anything of it, since she was getting on in years. Today, there is still a light coming from her tent, so could it be she still lingers in the theme park, waiting for her next customer?

[b]The Big Wheel: [/b]Seems like any old wheel ride, but on a much greater scale. Each carriage can easily hold ten people and the top of the wheel is so high that it cannot be seen from the ground due to it being shrouded in the bizarre violet fog. Recently, there have been rumours of it speeding up, its riders lost, but where?

[b]Ghost Train: [/b]Enter if you dare - The Ghost Train, the site of the disaster responsible for the closure of the theme park. Ghostly visits from children lost are reported to have scared many a construction crew away from this site while some of the strongest and darkest Pokémon of all are rumoured to dwell within the burnt out remains of this once popular ride.

[b]House of Mirrors: [/b]Reflections aren't the only things you'll find in these mirrors...

[b]Contest Halls: [/b]Scattered throughout the park are five contest halls, each devoted to a specific contest type; Beauty, Cool, Cute, Smart, and Tough. One contest was held in each hall each day at noon while the park was open, with people flocking in to watch. The contests are now back, though a little different to before, the entry deadline being midnight. Better not be late.

[b]Kiddie Arenas: [/b]Sixteen kiddie battle arenas are scattered throughout the park, each devoted to a specific Pokémon type. They're not very big as these were simply a testing ground for children under ten to practice their battle skills with rented Pokémon, though these days they're a little more treacherous.
[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Hotel[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]Situated at the back of the theme park is a grand hotel where guests and their Pokémon stayed whilst visiting. The ground floor has the usual areas such as lobby, restaurant, boutique, and entertainment room, while the downstairs levels house a storeroom and very special casino for its patrons. The hotel is still very active but its guests are far different than you might be used to encountering. The eight upper floors containing the suites are more often than not inhabited by spirits, some being those who perished in the fateful incident that closed the park. Some are restless not realising they are dead, and some are harmless, while others are not. Wander around the hotel and you may find more than you'd bargained for.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]The Lobby: [/b]Upon entering the hotel's main doors, you reach a marble-floored lobby with a check-in desk and huge chandeliers that flicker ominously. Behind the desk lies most of the keys to the various hotels rooms, but an unseen power prevents you from taking more than one at a time. A lone elevator sits at one end, leading up to the rest of the rooms or down to the storeroom and casino.

[b]Restaurant: [/b]Through a set of ornate double-doors lies what used to be one of the finest restaurants in the world. All of its tables and chairs remain untouched and the food seems to be frozen in time, no signs of decay at all. Candelabras decorate the tables but they have been seen flying around the room. The kitchen has become a dangerous place, however, located through a saloon door behind the food counters. The walls, still lined with the sinister, sharp utensils previously used by the various chefs glint in the moonlight and seem to sway on their own. A wrong move could lead to you being the latest delicacy.

[b]Boutique: [/b]A gift shop selling theme park souvenirs, you might find more than a keyring or two floating about in here.

[b]Entertainment Room: [/b]A place for visitors to unwind after spending a long day wandering around the park. A pool table is it's central focal point, although there are several arcade machines lining the walls as well as many tables set out with board games for children to play. Tron and Jumanji are child's play compared to what goes on in here nowadays.

[b]Storeroom: [/b]A vast room filled with everything the hotel might need and plenty of spare hotel furniture of all kinds. Pokémon have taken the furniture as an invitation to make themselves at home and quite a large variety of Pokémon can be found here not wanting to be disturbed by anything, let alone humans.

[b]Members-Only Casino: [/b]Situated beneath the hotel is a large casino that was previously members-only. Reports speak of a barrier that you still seemingly cannot pass without possessing one of the members' cards handed out to adults who visited the hotel and casino in its heyday. You might end up gambling more than you bargained for, however, so beware...

[b]The Upper Floors: [/b]There are eight upper floors to the hotel where the park's guests stayed, and some still dwell. One great mystery seems to be surrounding the sixth floor, or lack thereof, as the entire level seems to have vanished. Curious, as it's clearly visible from the outside, it just doesn't appear to exist within. The key to room thirteen is also rumoured to be located somewhere within the hotel, its sinister contents being protected as best they can. Can these two mysteries possibly be connected?[/size][/color]
The Glacier Islands
Code:
[color=lightcyan][center][size=6][b]The Glacier Islands[/b][/size]
[size=5][b]The Arctic Zone[/b][/size][/center]

[size=1]A chain of islands made up of enormous glaciers set deep in the Southern Ocean. The weather is extremely harsh and if you're not careful you could freeze to death in an instant. It's so cold that even with increases of a few degrees, temperatures will generally remain below the melting point of ice (0°C or 32°F). A relentless and unwelcoming terrain, people rarely ever set foot here before the discovery of precious metal ores buried deep within the ice. Since then, as the mining industry has grown, so too have people's general interest in the region. This influx of people has resulted in the discovery of areas nobody previously knew existed as well as Pokémon that are rarely seen in warmer climates. These discoveries have led to stories of strange and wonderful places, and as word spreads more and more people are visiting the Glacier Islands. Perhaps the most surprising, and as yet unfounded, story about these glaciers are the rumoured reports of a secret area where a mysterious and very strong Pokémon resides, sleeping deep within the ice. Whether there is any truth to it or not, this rumour has attracted Pokémon trainers who now roam the Glacier Islands in search of this mystery area.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Polar Region[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]Once covered by an ice sheet the polar ice caps are made up of many icebergs and glaciers, some more habitable than others. Icy islands, frozen forests, chilly caverns, and much more are providing people with plenty of reason to explore. Recently, a number of settlements have risen as those who wish to explore the area more thoroughly have set up for long-term stays.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Alpha Station: [/b]A research base set up on a large iceberg near the main mining colony, Alpha Station is the largest of the research stations in the polar region. Data collected from the other research centres in the region are sent here for examination.

[b]The Icy Wastelands: [/b]A dry region of little rainfall, extreme temperatures, and sparse vegetation. No sand here, only ice and snow for miles and miles. Not the most ideal place for a holiday but whatever floats your boat. Some Pokémon roam these plains but for the most part take the surroundings into their personalities; cold, harsh and deadly...

[b]The Settlements: [/b]The native Eskimo's have settlements all over the Glacier Islands so it's quite possible you'll stumble across one of them during your travels. Some locals are more tourist friendly than others, so don't always be expecting a friendly smile from the Glacier Island natives.

[b]Terror Mountain: [/b]Sitting in the centre of the Glacier Islands is an iceberg of monolithic proportions known only as Terror Mountain. Taller than the highest of the Arctic Alps, many rumours abound of a ghost town set somewhere within its icy ranges but due to the avalanches common to this mountain no one has ever returned to verify its existence.

[b]Snowstorm Isle: [/b]A large glacier, once a calm and passive island, is now constantly ravaged by snowstorms which keeps most travellers at bay. Many wonder why the sudden change in weather conditions, but few dare brave the raging blizzards in an effort to find out. Sometimes, if you listen hard enough, the roars of a creature can be heard. Is it only the wind, or is something else out here?[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Southern Ocean[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]The Southern Ocean is cold, harsh, and unforgiving. Below freezing temperatures make these waters a haven for some Pokémon while keeping most at bay. These waters are said to hide many secrets, some of them ancient, with few people brave enough to explore their depths. Pokémon activists are often found scouring the seas to stop poachers intent of catching and killing some of the rarer species, including whales, which are a protected species in this region. If you're daring enough to challenge these seas, you may encounter more than you'd bargained for.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Epsilon Station: [/b]An underwater research facility you'll need a Pokémon with Dive if you're wanting to visit here. Mainly used to study the marine life, it may be worth your while to visit if you intend to try exploring the vast southern seas.

[b]Glacial Palace: [/b]A palace carved from a large iceberg. Despite having been deserted now for hundreds of years, the ice had never melted. People flock here intrigued by the meaning behind this place, asking questions that may never be answered.

[b]Banshee Island: [/b]A mysterious island permanently shrouded in a thick fog. Due to the low visibility in the area sailors steer clear of it at all costs. When the water is perfectly still, with not a single wavelet lapping at the side of your boat, a piercing wail can be heard emanating from deep within the fog sending a chill up the spine of even the most seasoned sailors.

[b]The Abyss: [/b]A seemingly bottomless chasm protected by a thick layer of ice. You'll need some special equipment before even attempting to explore its unfathomable depths.

[b]Magnetic Island: [/b]A lone glacier, one that continuously sails around the Glacier Islands, never leaving it's course. [i]Mysterious....[/i][/size]

[center][size=3][b]Crystal City[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]Crystal City is a technologically advanced area located in the central area of the Glacier Islands where many trainers find refuge from the harsh surrounding environment. Despite the fact it is surrounded by minus zero temperatures, its advanced technology ensures the climate never falls below 10°C (50°F) within the city limits. It has many attractions including Pokémon battle arenas, Pokémon shops and a hotel for weary travellers.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Beta Station: [/b]A research base where adventurous trainers can obtain a quest or two from the researchers stationed here.

[b][url=http://www.pacifly.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Ice-hotels.jpg]Ice Hotel[/url]: [/b]Carved out of the glacial ice itself, even the decor is sculpted from ice. Surprisingly warm inside, this fancy luxury igloo is definitely a place to stay for at least one night for the experience alone.

[b]Residential Area: [/b]The residential area of Crystal City, the homes here are a mixture of natural and man-made materials. Most residents are happy to chat with sightseer's, and will often offer advice in regards to the hazards as well as rumoured stories about the Glacier Islands.

[b]Ice Arenas: [/b]An area of Crystal City devoted to Icy Pokémon Battles. Tournaments are frequently held here.

[b]Crystal Port: [/b]The drop-off point for the city's supplies, some of the more curious wild Pokémon can be found here looking for a feed from the sailors and cityfolk who are passing through. More friendly than the majority of the wild Pokémon in this region some even find their way onto the boats owned by the locals, most of whom don't mind the invasion.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Arctic Alps[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]A beautiful snow-capped mountain range. Far more dangerous than it looks, the Arctic Alps are a challenging area to travel. Avalanches and storms are common, and the Pokémon fierce. The Delta and Zeta research centres can be found somewhere in these ranges, their locations kept secret causing many to wonder what kind of research is so important that it needs to be kept hidden. Hmm...

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Frozen Temple: [/b]An old, seemingly forgotten temple. Icy winds whistle through its corridors sending a shiver up the spine of those brave enough to enter its hallowed halls.

[b]Tranquil Lake: [/b]Within the Arctic Alps lies a peaceful, quiet lake covered by a thin layer of ice. Tranquil Lake is heavily surrounded by enormous trees which keep is secluded. It is rumoured that within the lake lies ancient creatures who haven't seen the world for centuries.

[b]Pine Wood: [/b]The eerily silent Pine Wood has pristine snow conditions which attracts many trainers and tourists alike. The most charming feature of these woods is often considered to be its enormous pine trees; it truly gives this wood the feeling of peace and purity. This place is perfect for young rookies to adventure... Or is it?

[b]Forest Lodge: [/b]A hotel located near to a hot spring. Spend a night or a week, Forest Lodge is a comfortable rest stop for those weary from travelling.

[b]Ski Resort: [/b]A ski resort located near to the top of one of the tallest mountains. You'll find more tourists than trainers here, but there is a Pokémon Centre if you're wanting to make use of its facilities.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]Snowy Oasis[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]An oasis in the icy tundra of the Glacier Islands is a large glacier that for some unknown reason is spared the same extremely harsh weather conditions as the rest of the polar region. Being far more habitable than the rest of the region, people flock here as it is a wonderfully pleasant area to explore. Snow is common here and while the mountains are nowhere near as tall as the Arctic Alps they've certainly attracted a lot of attention from developers who have already built two ski resorts. Snowstorms are rare in this area, but those that do occur are fiercer than most.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Oaktree Port: [/b]A small but busy port area with a few warehouses and a couple of rows of storage sheds. Sometimes wild Pokémon can be found scrounging for food.

[b]Eta Station: [/b]A research base dedicated to gathering and studying samples taken from the local terrain as well as its wildlife. It's not uncommon for trainers to be recruited to perform various tasks for the researchers stationed here.

[b]Aspen and Pine Resorts: [/b]These two ski resorts, each named after the trees that surround their respective locations, are situated on the pristine white slopes of two of the tallest mountains in the area. A prospective third location, Cedar Resort, is in the planning stages, but there is much opposition to the idea from locals and resort staff alike.

[b]Snowflake Village: [/b]A pretty little village started by early explorers who fell in love with the local climate and wildlife. The recent influx in mining and tourism has seen the village grow in recent years. Whether you're passing through or planning to stay a while, the local tavern offers cheap rates to suit your needs.

[b]Frosty Cavern: [/b]A gaping cavern located on the mountainside, the entrance concealed by a plantation of fir trees making it hard to find unless you're looking for it. The plentiful stalagmites and stalactites that form this place causing the entrance to resemble the mouth of a monster's ferocious roar; not unlike the sound that occasionally reverberates throughout its icy halls to send a chill up the spine of those who hear it.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Glacier Mines[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]Set just east of the island chain is a huge glacier, so large that it sits sealed to the ocean floor. Enter at your own risk but be sure to bring something warm as it'll get way below freezing as you move further down into the winding tunnels of the icy caverns. Some trek here hoping to find a nice stone to make into jewellery, but others have an ulterior motive as somewhere deep down in the deepest depths of the Glacier Mines is a special area where some extinct as well as new species of Pokémon reside. Searching for them will be hazardous enough, but even then there's no guarantee you'll find them.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Gamma Station: [/b]A research base dedicated to studying ores dug up from the ice, Gamma Station isn't the most interesting of places to visit unless you're really into Geology.

[b]Orion Mine: [/b]This mine is by far the largest of the three Glacier Island mines with tunnels forking off in so many directions it'll be surprising if you [i]don't[/i] get lost. It is not advised for trainers to enter this mine at all, let alone by themselves, although many do due to the abundance of Ice Pokémon who have settled in to make these icy tunnels home.

[b]Corvus Mine: [/b]This mine is only half the size of it's neighbour, the Orion Mine, and has far less twists and turns making it much easier to navigate. The miners certainly won't stop curious trainers from looking around, but don't expect them to welcome you with open arms as they have a dim view of people trekking through the tunnels alone and unsupervised.

[b]Hydra Mine: [/b]The newest of the icy mines, this mine is by far the deepest as the miners have been ordered to dig as deep as they possibly can. Not too interesting for trainers unless what they're looking for is really, [i]really[/i] old.

[b]The Abandoned Mine: [/b]The original mine shaft, this mine has long since been abandoned. Stories abound of unexplained accidents and a terrible tragedy that led to this mine being boarded up and sealed permanently several years ago.[/size][/color]
Talas
Code:
[center][size=6][color=darkorange][b]The Lost Cities of Talas[/b][/size]
[size=5][b]The Archaeology Zone[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]Long since buried beneath the desert sands, the lost city of Sobek was discovered after a ferocious sandstorm uncovered part of an ancient abode. When archaeologists heard of the discovery they flocked from all over the world to examine the area, eventually unearthing several more vicinities in which the ruined remains of ancient civilisations have been laying undisturbed for thousands of years. Portions of the strange writings and hieroglyphs discovered in these lost cities have been translated, fuelling speculation that the entire island of Talas is somehow tied in with the heavens. Items, carvings, texts, as well as some rather unsettling discoveries and mysterious events have helped to cement these theories in the minds of some, while others dismiss them as fantasy. Each of the cities are believed to be connected to the others somehow, but there are still missing pieces of a much larger puzzle to be found, leading scholars to believe that there are more cities that have yet to be discovered. Talas has now become a popular archaeological site which attracts scientists, scholars, tourists, and trainers from across the globe.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Isle of Talas[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]A desert island so large it's been classified a continent, Talas would be a barren wasteland if not for the Laos River snaking its winding trail from the far north-west corner of the island and throughout the land before rejoining the sea in the south-east province. A mixture of desolate wasteland and tropical jungle, the conditions are so harsh that very few dare to live here. Several nomadic tribes traverse the land, preferring to steer clear of populated areas, though many small villages can be found not too far from the river's edge. Most inhabitants of these villages are quite friendly, but there are the odd settlements whose residents are not at all welcoming, particularly of foreigners. The lost cities aren't the only places of interest in Talas, however, and it's these more isolated locations that have perked the interest of many a curious trainer. Guided tours are offered for those who wish to travel in groups, but the more adventurous trainers prefer to make their own way around.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Laos River: [/b]A long and winding river lined with tall palm trees snaking its way throughout this vast desert island. Many wild Pokémon can be found basking upon its banks, while families love to sit by the water and watch the barges sailing by.

[b]The Northern Pyramid: [/b]A large pyramid built in a massive crater located in the far north of Talas, and seemingly dedicated to the God of Earth. Only a single corridor appears accessible, as it seems a task needs to be performed in order to enter the vast network of halls and chambers within.

[b]The Southern Pyramid: [/b]A large pyramid located in one of the most hot and barren parts of the land, and seemingly dedicated to the God of Fire. Only a single corridor appears accessible, as it seems a task needs to be performed in order to enter the vast network of halls and chambers within.

[b]The Eastern Pyramid: [/b]A large pyramid standing atop a high cliff on the eastern-most edge of Talas, and seemingly dedicated to the God of Wind. Only a single corridor appears accessible, as it seems a task needs to be performed in order to enter the vast network of halls and chambers within.

[b]The Western Pyramid: [/b]A large pyramid located in the sea one hundred metres off the western coast of Talas, and seemingly dedicated to the God of Water. Only a single corridor appears accessible, as it seems a task needs to be performed in order to enter the vast network of halls and chambers within.

[b]The Sphinx: [/b]This Sphinx loves riddles so if you don't like them then this isn't the place for you. Answer the Sphinx's riddle and she will allow you entry. Once inside you will be faced with another twelve riddles. Each time you guess the correct answer you advance to the next stage where you will battle for your right to face another riddle. Make it to the end and you will receive great rewards, if you lose a battle or answer a riddle incorrectly you will find yourself back at the beginning.

[b]Sovereign Valley: [/b]A vast network of catacombs where only the most revered of ancient kings and queens were buried. Riches beyond your wildest dreams are rumoured to have been buried with them, and judging from what has been found so far this very well may be the case. All objects discovered have been taken to the Atlas Museum, but if you're lucky you may just stumble upon an undiscovered chamber that hasn't yet been emptied by an excavation crew or ransacked by looters.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]Atlas City[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]A bustling city located alongside the Laos River. While there are several small, stray settlements scattered across the land, Atlas's reputation has spread worldwide since the discovery of the lost city of Sobek less than a mile from its shore. The incredibly large influx of scientists, trainers, and tourists has aided in building Atlas from a humble village into a modern and prosperous city. Walking the streets at night isn't recommended, however, as the sudden prosperity of Atlas City has also attracted many thieves.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Port Pearl: [/b]A large, bustling port developed to handle the large amount of traffic now navigating the Laos River into Atlas City. Cargo ships, fishing trawlers, ferries, small tourist boats, and even five star cruise liners, all dock here. Café's, restaurants, boutiques, a couple of small inns, and a tour company all line the river banks making it a central hub of activity for the thriving metropolis of Atlas City.

[b]Emporium Hotel: [/b]A luxurious five star hotel located in the heart of Atlas City, the Emporium Hotel is fit for royalty. Some even say they've seen royalty of the ancient spiritual kind inhabiting rooms on the thirteenth floor. Perhaps these patrons have had a little too much to drink in the elaborate hotel bar?

[b]The Market: [/b]A bustling marketplace. Food, clothing, and knick-knacks can be purchased here, but you'd better be careful. Some of the seedier business owners are renowned for advertising fake items as genuine artefacts. If you're lucky, however, you may just find a gem amongst the junk.

[b]The Museum: [/b]Many artefacts from the various dig sites of Talas have ended up here, as well as the skeletons of long extinct Pokémon. At night, strange things are rumoured to occur.

[b]The Library: [/b]Scholars who have become obsessed with the lost cities have built this library for those who wish to read up on ancient civilisations. Ancient texts from all over the world have been collated here, the most valuable locked away from the public eye. They're always on the lookout for new and exciting discoveries, so if you happen to come across something on your travels it may be worth your while to pay the scholars a visit.

[b]Perona: [/b]The residential district of Atlas City, Perona is a working class settlement originally built to accommodate those who work in the city itself. With Atlas City expanding at a rapid rate, however, the families of the ever-growing workforce have moved here as well. Archaeologists, scientists, and tourists have also settled here, falling in love with the city and wanting to make it a more permanent home. Perona has rapidly developed into a family oriented community, its first school opening recently as the demand for a much needed educational system became a priority.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Lost City of Sobek[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]The first of the lost cities to have been unearthed, Sobek is the most extensively examined of the five known ancient civilisations. Despite the fact it's surrounded by desert, a thick, healthy layer of the greenest of grass has grown since Sobek was first uncovered. The dig site is extensive, and even though it is believed this city was the main agricultural centre of Ancient Talas, some of its areas raise questions as to what kind of rituals the people who once dwelt here may have performed. Here you will find many places of interest such as the Pokémon Centre, Research Lab and tourist stalls, as well as several interesting excavation sites to explore.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Research Lab: [/b]Any fossils unearthed can be taken here for examination. Occasionally one of the professors may have a job opening, so if you're looking for something to do it can't hurt to swing by and see what's available.

[b]Farity's Shrine: [/b]A shrine built to honour Farity, the Goddess of Fertility. The ancients believed that Farity's tears could create life where there was none, and some who have visited this shrine will swear blind that miracles have occurred. A statue of Farity herself stands on an alter overlooking the shrine, and it's said that if you're pure of heart you may just see her weep.

[b]Farity's Pond: [/b]A large freshwater pond in the centre of the city. How it has miraculously filled with water is still a mystery, some saying Farity herself has imbued it with life. A statue of the Goddess rises from its centre, a Feraligatr, Croconaw, and Totodile protectively surrounding their mistress. The fresh, cool water attracts many wild Pokémon, while people visiting or working in the area like to submerge themselves to cool off under the harsh, desert sun.

[b]The Colosseum: [/b]An ancient battle arena, the Colosseum has seen many a warrior fight. It is said that one of the most bloodthirsty battles known to man took place here, the details of which have been lost in time. Nowadays, trainers come here to battle with their Pokémon but it's what lays hidden beneath the arena that makes many a man shudder. The dark and dangerous dungeons have become home to some of the strongest and most bloodthirsty Pokémon alive, so only the bravest of trainers dare to enter its dank and brooding halls.

[b]The Caiman Temple: [/b]Built thousands of years ago as a burial tomb for the Pharaoh, the Caiman Temple is filled with many secret passages, dangerous traps, and puzzles designed to protect the Pharaoh's resting place from looters. If this place doesn't kill you, it may just drive you insane.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Lost City of Solaris[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]An arid city located far from the banks of the Laos River, very little plant life is found in this harsh and uninviting environment. The ancients who dwelt here appear to have worshipped the sun, and have many drawings and inscriptions depicting flames and violence. Their God, Faros, is shown as being a large, muscular man who radiated intense heat. Texts have been translated to say that when Faros was angry, his body ignited in a raging fire, punishing the insolent in ways that defy the very nature of humanity. Many charred and damaged remains of ancient structures can be found in this city, and only the hardiest of wild Pokémon roam the area.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]The Pit: [/b]A large pit where the skeletal remains of hundreds of people and Pokémon are found. Upon closer examination it seems they died an unnatural death, as many of their bones are broken and charred. Scientists are trying to determined what has killed them, as they feel this information will help to shed light on the city's seemingly violent history.

[b]Sun Dial: [/b]A large sun dial located in the very centre of Solaris. Under the rays of the midday sun, it radiates an energy that cause most Pokémon who go near it to become quite violent, often resulting in them turning on their trainers.

[b]The Well: [/b]A very, very, very deep well tapping into an underground source of fresh water much needed for a city this far away from the river. Wouldn't want to play around near its edge, because there's no way of knowing what's down there, or even if there's a way out.

[b]The Arena: [/b]A large arena made of clay with unfamiliar markings which was apparently the scene of many games. Exactly what the native game or its rules entailed, nobody knows, but considering what little is known about this city many wonder what became of those who were unfortunate enough to lose. These days trainers like to battle with their Pokémon, but there is something about this arena that makes them battle more ferociously than ever before. Perhaps a natural survival instinct? But survival of what? It's only a battle after all...

[b]The Sun Temple: [/b]A large temple dedicated to Faros, God of the Sun. Steps surround the temple, at the very top of which rests an alter covered in dark stains believed to be blood. Some say that ritualistic sacrifices were performed here, but what met the requirements for one of these sacrifices is anyone's guess. Human, Pokémon, both? Perhaps some more light will be shed on the matter once the inner temple has been fully explored, but few dare to enter as the terrifying screams of those long since departed can be heard echoing throughout its extensive halls.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Lost City of Lacuna[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]Located at the bottom of a deep valley laid out in the shape of a crescent moon, the Laos River provides the surrounding area with a rich source of nutrition. Thick jungle surrounds the ancient city whose inhabitants appear to have worshipped cats. Statues and inscriptions depict a very large, very muscular, panther-like feline as tall as a man whilst on all fours, but whether this creature is an extinct Pokémon or something else is anyone's guess. No references have been found in relation to this mythical beast, leaving many to wonder if it actually existed, or was simply a God worshipped by those who inhabited the city.

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Burial Ground: [/b]Where many ancient Talasians and felines were buried. Several crypts contain the mummified remains of the more prominent citizens, but it's the statues surrounding this burial site that has fear entering the hearts of those who lay eyes upon them. Known only as the "Big Cats", these fearsome sentries stand guard over the burial ground, watching the site in eternal vigilance. Roam the area at night, and you may never see the light of day again...

[b]Pool of Illusion: [/b]A small pond, its ink black water smooth as silk. No Pokémon drinks from its water, no human sets foot in it, but visit at midnight under the light of a full moon and some pretty strange events are bound to blow your mind.

[b]The Labyrinth: [/b]An underground maze where the bravest warriors were sent in order to prove themselves.  It's inhabited by strong Pokémon and an unknown mysterious Pokémon that is stronger than them all.  If the warriors made it out they were celebrated as heroes, if not... ;-;

[b]Rapa's Temple: [/b]About a quarter of a mile from the ruins of Lacuna is a small island surrounded by water. The wooden bridge leading to it has been deliberately sabotaged so that nobody may cross, while large, shadowy forms can be seen lurking beneath the surface of the water. Skeletal remains of humans - or parts of them - who have tried to access the island can be seen scattered along the shore which causes most to think twice before trying to cross the water. An ancient temple sealed centuries ago is built upon the lone island, its entrance inscribed: "Herein reside the Rapa; Death to those who enter". Is it sealed to keep something in, or to keep people out? Hmm, wonder what's inside?

[b]The Moon Temple: [/b]A large temple dedicated to Saros, the God of the Moon. It is said that at various times strange events occur, all of which are related to the moon itself, whether that's during a solar eclipse, lunar eclipse, or under the light of a full moon. Quiet and serene, this temple has an almost magical aura about it, leaving many feeling calm and collected even under the most stressful of circumstances.[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Lost City of Axal[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]Located at the very peak of a high mountain, the city of Axal was built on the outskirts of a large lake, its residents appearing to have been quite advanced for their time. Those who lived here worshipped the stars and appear to have been a peaceful, scientific race of people. Astronomers have discovered an extremely detailed set of parchments depicting maps of galaxies beyond those discovered by present day science, and are eager to learn more to further their own knowledge. The Axalian calendar has raised much curiosity, as well as concern, for even with today's massive amount of technology it is more accurate than any current day super computer. If the Axalian calendar is to be believed, then doomsday is approaching, for their calendar ends less than a year from today...

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Axal Field: [/b]Upon the northern edge of Lampas Lake is a field that was once used for cattle to graze upon, as well as to cultivate fruits and vegetables for those who lived here. Now there are many trees full of various fruits, apricorns, and berries, but the wild Pokémon who dwell here become pretty irate if you try to take any food for yourself. Better watch out if you're feel those hunger pains, because you might be in for more than you'd bargained for if you try to pick any of these fruits.

[b]Axal Village: [/b]Spreading from the eastern most point of Axal and down to the northern edge of the lake is the residential district of Axal City. Many small, ancient abodes can be found here, some with rather interesting inscriptions upon the walls. All parchments found have already been taken to either Atlas City's Museum or Library, but that doesn't mean there's nothing left to find. Some vagrants have set up home here, and aren't too friendly if you attempt to 'trespass' upon what they consider to be their property.

[b]Lampas Lake: [/b]The very centre of Axal City and the main source of water for those who once dwelt here, Lampas Lake attracts many wild Pokémon who aren't all that used to seeing trainers. As people have been flocking into the ruined city, however, the Pokémon around here have begun to accept the sudden influx of humans, some of them being quite friendly if you have a little treat for them. At night the lake appears to sparkle as the Chinchou who live here talk to one another, their electrical signals making the lake a very pretty sight to behold as it twinkles just like the night sky.

[b]Shrine of Plasius: [/b]An underwater shrine erected in honour of Plasius, the God of the Heavens, this wondrous discovery was made when a wild Chinchou was found floating in Lampas Lake, struggling to free itself of a beautiful golden necklace tied around it. Wondering where the necklace had come from, a diving crew was called in who discovered the shrine at the bottom of the lake. Many artefacts have since been recovered, but the shrine is so deep that you can only visit if you have a Pokémon who knows Dive. How it came to be submerged is a mystery scientists are still trying to solve.

[b]The Celestial Temple: [/b]A large temple built to honour Celeste, Goddess of the Heavens. Hundreds of chambers lie within, each dedicated to a specific constellation. The prophets of Rebus believe that one may travel great distances when the planets are aligned, but just how far are they talking?[/size]

[center][size=3][b]The Lost City of Rebus[/b][/size][/center]
[size=1]An ancient version of the 'Bermuda Triangle', Rebus is a mysterious city located dead centre of the cities of Solaris, Lacuna, and Axal. The city of prophets, Rebus appears to have been inhabited mainly by those who dabbled in various realms of the occult. Texts reveal that while much legitimacy was given to the Prophecies of Rebus by the civilisations of its era, it was shunned by those who lived in Solaris, most likely due to fear. It is believed its location, whether deliberate or not, imbued the area with special mystical qualities resulting in those born here having the natural ability to see into the future. Only a handful of prophecies have been found since the city was first discovered by modern day explorers, all of which accurately depict cataclysmic events that have taken place during past centuries. The most interesting of stories discovered tells of a horrific curse placed upon the Goddess Farity whose death, as the Goddess of Fertility and the one who injects life to the Island of Talas, will result in the complete annihilation of the Talasian race as the curse spreads into the heart of each city. To save their land and their fellow Goddess, the isle's respective Gods united to save Farity, drawing the curse out of her. It was too late, however, as the curse had already spread across the land and into each city, so they each called upon their powers to contain the curse within special objects which were then hidden away in their respective areas. Not ever wanting the objects to be found, and the curse unleashed before it could be destroyed, they united once again, this time to bury all of their civilisations and the curse along with them before it could spread not just across Talas, but into the world beyond. Their work done for the time being, the Gods then fell into slumber until a cure could be found, their dreams intertwined with each other's while they devise a way in which to break the curse and allow their cities to live again. If this story is to believed, then why are these ancient civilisations still buried? Could it be the curse was never broken?

[b]Areas:[/b]
[b]Rebus Village: [/b]The City of Rebus mostly consisted of temples built for the prophets, or of temples and shines to honour the God and Goddess of Mystery, so the residential area of the city was very small, consisting of less than thirty abodes because families who were not directly descended from the prophets rarely stayed long. Some strange objects have been unearthed here, many of them hidden in cleverly concealed areas within the various abodes. If you're lucky you may just stumble across one of these hiding places, and if you're even luckier may even find a nice little souvenir to take home with you.

[b]The House of Arctosia: [/b]A special school where natural born prophets were separated from the other children of Rebus and sent to learn. The details of their education is unknown, though it is said these pupils were very secretive. Is this because they had no wish to share their knowledge, or because they were being trained in various areas of the occult?

[b]The Temple of Oracles: [/b]A meeting place of the Prophets of Rebus. It is said they gathered here whenever a cataclysmic event was prophesised. Unable to prevent these events, all they could do was warn of the oncoming disasters, trying to prevent as many casualties as possible.

[b]The Divination Temple: [/b]A small temple made of stone with no inscriptions or markings anywhere inside. An incense holder stands at the front centre of the room, while mats woven from vines are spaced evenly throughout the room. It is said that the prophets used to come here when they felt their powers of foresight fading, meditating for days, and sometimes even weeks, at a time.

[b]The Mystic Temple: [/b]A temple built to honour Arctosia, the Goddess of Mystery. Nobody knows what's inside, for only one of those who have entered have ever returned. Terrified out of his mind, and afflicted with some kind of unfathomable disease, his words were gibberish leaving him unable to pass along any information as to what had happened to him. He died shortly after leaving more questions than answers, and those who set out to discover what had caused his dire affliction have never been seen again.[/size][/color]

Thanks for the fast response. A set up a quick discussion thread as discussed, though I can't pin it.

If I may ask one more thing:
What will be the definitive differences between FB on UPN and FB on Serebii and Bulbagarden? There's some confusion as to whether you're rebooting everything on Serebii and Bulbagarden, and whether it'll still be called FB or be something entirely new. Are members allowed to continue with their character in both instances for eg or will it have to be a fresh start for them as well when they stick to Serebii for instance?

^Simplifying the above. What is a homeboard transfer?

If I decide to stay in both versions, what is my homeboard? (currently not UPN)
If one requests to not transfer over to UPN, then how will that person play the UPN version of FB? (Ie, what's the point of declaring a non-upn homeboard for the purpose of staying on UPN)

Even we're not entirely sure yet as to just how much will immediately change as we still need to discuss a fair few things.

We are renaming ours.
We'll probably shelve the AR entirely.
A few shops may disappear. Other new ones may appear.
Shop rules may change.
We're probably going to allow updaters to create BMG zones in the long-term. In the short term it'll just host the mini zones (Dream World, Evolution Zone, etc.), and even those may change.
I wouldn't mind getting rid of HM's and introducing the Ride Pager. That's just a thought though, I don't really know. Things need to be discussed. Everyone will have different ideas and over time the two RPG's will branch away from each other. There will be similarities, but there will also be distinctive differences.

As far as characters go, we're assuming most members will choose to stay with you but should they choose to take part in both then their existing account will stay with one RPG (they must choose) and they'd need to sign up as a new account to the other. Branching an old account across two RPG's may cause problems later on so it's best to start fresh on one of them.

Out of curiosity/for future reference: Would it be possible to trade 'mons in between the two RPGs? I don't mind having my current account transferred to UPN, but the prospect of starting over with a fresh "secondary" character does sound somewhat appealing. It might be nice to "spread" my team out as well, so to speak (to keep one from getting too bloated lol); perhaps not right away so as to avoid an unfair advantage, but somewhere down the line if it's feasible. I know I've got a few team members who unfortunately never received nearly as much attention/development as others due to sheer volume/lack of seniority, but at the same time I'd be hesitant to part with them. If I could pass them on to a "different" persona who can in essence devote more time to forming bonds with them (at least "in-universe") while still retaining full control over their characters I'd love to see them flourish in that manner.

I understand this sounds a bit like bending the rules/trying to circumvent the split just in order to keep hoarding 'mons, so it's totally fine if it's not an option. Just a thought that occurred to me in light of these events, if I were to return.

What's going to happen to the Poké Pelago Islands? Is it going to resume/getting paused/scrapped forever?

What about the zone adventures people are currently on? Can I continue replying to my updates, or are they getting a reset once people begin migrating to one side or the other?
