Re: Official E3 Thread, zomg!
Woah, woah, woah. Everything said seemed reasonable, except for the superman thing.
Okay, 3D games did lose an element of style at first, this was of course a necessity. They had to set back before moving forward. That's not so much a platformer thing. Given how you said Zelda is getting better, and me distinctly remembering very little puzzles in Mario games in general (Besides Paper Mario and stuff), I can't say the 3D puzzle thing is that bad. If 3D stages were anything like 2D ones, I could accept how less of them could be a problem. But in 2D games, the amount of things to do is decisively less. It is basically, go from A to B. And yeah, most 3D platformer stuff was pretty much the same goal, the amount of diversity in techniques, is what allowed the experience of like collecting 100 coins, flying through several rings, switching between Huge and Tiny on that island or beating King Bob-omb have such variety. And the control? Um... right. I never had any problems with that. Like ever. Edit: Oh, and analogies are designed to make a difficult concept easier to understand by comparing it to something simpler. I would never say that politics based on history is simpler than the history of the video game industry. |

Re: Official E3 Thread, zomg!
Just a quick tip, expect bigger news from Nintendo tomorrow. They did that last year with SSBB, so it'll probably happen again this year.
And if somebody's already said that, then oh well. xd

Anyway I haven't been keeping up on E3 very well this year and since this seems to be a Nintendo-thread I'll have to do some digging on my own. If I feel like it. ~_~ |

Nintendo hates Europe. And why is Jack at the top of the screen?

Re: Official E3 Thread, zomg!
NSBM was awesome. :o I still play it, as much as I play Mario Kart DS. Very fun, very easy to "pick up and play," very good replay value on many of the stages. It's a lot like Mario 3 and Mario World. Oh well. Can't convince everyone ...
Are you upset I'm being too mean about Mario 64? ^_^; *will try not to offend people ....... considering this is one of the most well-loved games of all time テつャテつャ*

I for one, despite having doubts and similar problems as Lindz while playing it at first, I eventually grew into it. Also, yeah, very much like World. I recently got World on the VC, and I realised how many of the enemies are exactly the same. |

Fair enough. ^_^; I mean, I disagree taste-wise, of course, but if you're saying you were so dissatisfied you bothered to return it ....... yeah, I can see what you mean that you really don't like it. ^_^; Yeouch. You're like one of the biggest "all-around gamers" UPN has ever known, too ... But hey. If the two of us can agree that Mario 64 was ass , then maybe we have a convincing case. ;)

Mario 64 rocked. I don't care what anybody else says, I'll stick to that. :P
Also, apparently, the "Day-After-Conference" is starting in about an hour and 20 minutes, if I've calculated time zones correct. >>;

Re: Official E3 Thread, zomg!
Huh, I've just been watching the Mario Kart Wii video, and from the looks of it, there are at least 9 racers in the race shown. It kinda looks like there might be another person at the front too, so maybe there are 10 charas-per-race now? :O

Re: Official E3 Thread, zomg!
I honestly don't see why the Wii wouldn't support "one human for every racecar." In fact, most other racing games allow players to each select the exact same car; Mario Kart is the only example I can think of where no two players may race as the same character. (Which is really, really bad if you're playing with strangers online and several of you are all fighting over the same character.)

Re: Official E3 Thread, zomg!
If it goes online, there'll probably be some sort of thing to make the characters different. Like on the Arcade version, your face shows up above your character. :O
Also, now I think the show's at 10pm GMT. xD Gawd, I absolutely MEGA-HATE time zones. ><;

Re: Official E3 Thread, zomg!
Quick Note, Nintendo's second conference is starting soon, and you can find it here: Link! :O
When it's available to watch, it'll have a picture of a TV next to "Ninty Shindig". Zomgz, woo! xd Also, I don't know the exact time it starts, so you'll have to check yourself. >>;

Re: Official E3 Thread, zomg!
I'll let you watch it for both of us, Joe. I wasted an hour for WiiFit yesterday. テつャテつャ
Joe: After all my anti-Geoff bashing? Where's the love? >( Talon: Bored, basically. I'll look up all the info later, I guess.

Okay, I'll be damned if I'm watching that. >>; Keeps stopping and starting every 10 seconds for like 3 seconds. And after about half a minute the video goes about 100 times slower than the sound. ><;
Might load it up again in 10 mins, since it's only two guys in a studio right now talking about Contra 4. xd

Re: Official E3 Thread, zomg!
I'll check it out on G4's coverage in an hour or so (5 CST) because my internets is a load of... well, you know.
And I'll risk myself getting flamed by saying that I wanna get a PSP (probably for Christmas) and a PS3 (sometime next year). PSP has a few games I'd like to check out anyways (Final Fantasy Tactics, ignoring the fact that I haven't progressed far on the PSX version, among others) and Heavenly Sword, Drake's Fortune, and Ratchet & Clank Future look awesome. :C And I haven't even played and R&C games, though I'm inspired to check them out now. Going to try to get a Wii before all that, though.
