Cool Contest - Battle Round 10!~

Stu & Downy versus Lee & Isaac - The Final Round!

Well, here we finally are - the final round of the Battle sector of this exciting Cool Contest. Its now or never and Stu and Lee are certainly feeling the pressure of it all. The attacks are in and Downy and Isaac are beginning to carry out their orders. Let’s see what happens!

Both pokémon begin to attack at the same time, Isaac summoning leaves as Downy’s magnets begin to glow and give off a blinding Flash. Isaac unfortunately looks right at the light and is blinded. As a result, the Razor Leaf attack misses it’s mark, and it harmlessly flies past Downy. Downy then prepares his final move of the contest - Volt Tackle. His entire metallic body glows yellow as electricity crackles all over him. He rushes forward, the immense energy coming from him dispelling the Double Team clones, smacking into Isaac. Luckily for Isaac, the remainder of his Light Screen absorbs some damage - knocking off 30 C-HP, taking the Ivysaur down to a meer 45 C-HP. Isaac pants heavily, absolutely exhausted. Although blinded, he begins to glow green as he slams his feet into the ground causing two huge vines to emerge. Frenzy Plant vines lash around, the occasional one smacking Downy about - knocking off 40 C-HP, causing his bar to slide down to 65 C-HP.

With the attacks over, the arena falls silent as the winner of the battle round is declared…

Stu & Downy with 65 C-HP remaining!!! Congratulations on a battle well fought, and good luck in the upcoming round against Dark Fire & Cascade.

Lee & Isaac, it was wonderful to have seen Isaac’s Coolness, perhaps we’ll see you in this Cool Contest Hall again soon? Well Done ^-^ It turned out to be a close one.

Now passing you guys back over to Gary for the Final Round …….

Re: Cool Contest Normal Rank: Third Time Around!

Thanks Becki for the help <3

Alright folks, here we have it, the FINAL round of the third ever Cool Contest Hall Normal Rank Contest! We're down to two finalists now, and now is the time for them to battle it out, out-cool each other, and decide who is the Coolest of them all! On one hand we have Stu and Downy the Megneton who defeated Lee and Isaac the Ivysaur in a close round two match, and on the other hand we have Rayne and Cascade who easily won over Tetsu and Luxord in a disqualification. The two contestants now face off at the base of the massive Battle Pillar before they will meet at the top! Suddenly before them, two pokemon Teleport into view, an Espeon and a Golduck, the judge's pokemon holding two parchments and Psychically send one over to each contestant. Upon closer look, the parchments include the rules for the final round, the mighty Battle Pillar:

Round Three: The Battle Pillar

The Battle pillar is a massive, 100 foot tall, pillar, 50 feet in diameter. In the Battle Pillar, there are two parts, the spiral stairway, and the platform on top. This round will be judging coolness for both of these parts.

The Spiral Staircase
In order to get to the battling on top of the Pillar, one must climb the Spiral Staircases first. There are two staircases positioned on opposite sides of the pillar and coil up the pillar to the top. This is essentially a race to the top, and will be judged in two different categories. The obvious way is who makes it to the top first and fastest. The other category is how cool one makes their way up to the top. This race will be judged in only one round, so make sure you are very clear on all possible attacks you would want to use to get there. A pokemon’s base speed is not completely necessary to win this race however, as any given thing can happen on these stairs. You may use up to as many moves as you want, but keep in mind that some attacks may require the user to stall for a moment to execute the attack, or that the pokemon might have trouble remembering if too many attacks are issued. Moves may be targeted at your foe, but keep in mind that they are on the opposite side of the pillar, so something like Tackle would be pointless. Try and be clever, like affecting the weather, or even giving the pillar a shake with an earthquake and see what happens. When you get to the top, however, the battle will begin immediately, so it wouldn’t be wise to waste too much energy. The way coolness will be judged here is using the C-HP system as in Round Two, but this time, one’s C-HP bar starts at zero, and extends to a limitless amount as cool moves will boost one’s C-HP. If one is using a water type pokemon, a clear tube filled with water can be used to replace a stair case and works like a backwards water slide that is filled completely to the top with water, the object being to swim to the top. The width of the stairs and the water tube if needed can be chosen by the trainer.

The Battle Platform
The moment both pokemon are at the top, the battle will commence. As stated before, the circular platform is 50 feet in diameter. The object of this portion of the Battle Pillar is to push your opponent off the edge in an ultimate sumo wrestling match. This match will last for ten rounds, like Round Two. Also like the staircase, the C-HP system carries on with the C-HP gained from the stairs, and if no winner is decided come ten rounds are over, the winner will be decided by who has more C-HP. Pulling off successful combos or using moves to make oneself look Cooler will result in a gain in C-HP, and only moves that cause the opponent to be afflicted with an abnormal status condition (like poison, paralysis, confusion, blindness, etc) will result in a loss of C-HP for the opponent. The use of Smart or Cute moves will also result in loss of your own C-HP, and Beauty and Tough moves may be used without penalty. For example, using Quick Attack on the opponent will not lower their C-HP, but raise your own if used in a Cool manner, and using Poisonpowder will cause BOTH of you to lose C-HP, you for using a Smart move, and the opponent for being afflicted with poison. Another thing to be careful for are trap panels that can cause almost anything, and will be decided by RNG. Things like trap flamethrowers and spark mats are among many different traps. Because Flying pokemon have a serious advantage here as well, they must not stay airborne for more than two rounds at a time, and must spend a round on the ground to compensate, else they be disqualified. If a flying pokemon is also pushed below the surface of the platform off the edge, they will also lose, regardless if they’re in good condition or not. Also, if a water pokemon needs, a series of intricate, maze-like canals will cross through the platform, so fish pokemon will be granted mobility. Just like the second round, there will be a 4 day DQ limit for the battle.

The two judge's pokemon patiently wait, the Espeon facing Stu and the Golduck facing Rayne, telepathically indicating they they will escort the trainers to the top via Teleport once the trainers have issued commands to their pokemon. Meanwhile, two more of the judge's pokemon flutter down, a Tropius and a Ninjask, each with a video camera attached to them, as they will be broadcasting the race up on the big screens for the audience and judge alike at the top. So hurry up now, get those commands in and let's get this race started!

Re: Cool Contest Normal Rank: Third Time Around!

"Lefty, Righty and Downy....we're here...we have to win it!" Stu shouted as he looked at his Magneton and then up the spiral pillar, which held the final battle of the Cool Contest at the top. Stu nodded to Lefty, Righty and Downy who remained silent, for some reason he couldn't figure out why due to not having time to find out what all three personalities wanted. "Anyway, guys start by floating round the stairs, picking up speed on the way. Then when you pick up a good speed burst into a Volt Tackle attack, the speed and coolness of a Volt Tackle sound get you a good distance up the tower in a cool fashion." He then stopped for a second to think up some more moves or even one more move in case his partner hadn't made it all the way up tower with the Volt Tackle.

"I could just hope he makes it up with the Volt Tackle but..." Stu's voice trailed off back into his thoughts for a second as he remembered one attack that might help him, however it might not. "This is kinda risky dudes but turn away so you face the down way of the steps and use a Sonicboom attack! The sonic waves created could create enough force to push you up the rest of the tower and its a cool attack, though if not when the force stops blasting you up turn around and just float to the end. The Volt Tackle and Sonicboom should be enough to get you up most of the way anyway..."

Re: Cool Contest Normal Rank: Third Time Around!

Bleh, I really hate doing this two times in a row, but it has now been four days, and with no sign of DF around, Torkoal Stu is declared the winner! Congratulations to Stu and Downy, even though you might not have had to participate in the final round, your efforts were cool enough throughout the rest of the contest. As the third ever normal rank cool contest comes to a close, Downy the Magneton is awarded a very snazzy Normal Rank Cool Contest Ribbon! Sorry DF, but maybe next time you can attempt to enter again.
