|
Team Size: 43
Bug: 2 (Whirlipede, Beedrill) Dark: 6 (Nuzleaf, Mightyena, Weavile, Purrloin, Houndour, Pawniard) Dragon: 4 (Druddigon, Bagon, Axew, Gible) Electric: 4 (Lanturn, Mareep, Electrike, Shinx) Fairy: 1 (Kirlia) Fighting: 1 (Combusken) Fire: 7 (Combusken, Numel x2, Magby, Houndour, Ponyta, Shiny Slugma) Flying: 3 (Skarmory, Taillow, Tropius) Ghost: 1 (Banette) Grass: 5 (Nuzleaf, Turtwig, Bulbasaur, Tangela, Tropius) Ground: 6 (Numel x2, Trapinch, Swinub, Gible, Steelix) Ice: 3 (Weavile, Spheal, Swinub) Normal: 5 (Taillow, Dunsparce, Eevee, Whismur, Zangoose) Poison: 6 (Seviper, Arbok x2, Whirlipede, Bulbasaur, Beedrill) Psychic: 3 (Kirlia, Espeon, Shiny Gothita) Rock: 0 Steel: 3 (Skarmory, Steelix, Pawniard) Water: 2 (Lanturn, Spheal) So going into this game, I figured I was going to get myself loads of Dark-types, but with all my wants for reptiles, dogs, and cats, it turns out my team is actually quite balanced in typing, though plans on trading away a few of my Pokemon have a few counts spiked for the moment. I've got seven slots left, plus the slots that open up should I successfully trade away certain Pokemon, so I'm not as hurting for spots as some players are right now. However, four of those slots are currently being reserved for potential zone captures, so I'll still need to be more careful about what I add to my team.

Oh, don't be ridiculous. On a completely unrelated subject, I don't suppose you'd be at all interested in, oh, say, a Klefki, a Honedge, or possibly a Froakie?

So I'm in the awkward situation where neither Hawlucha or Goomy interest me, but they're popular enough that people would kill to be in my spot which means that I'm actually just sounding spoiled.
And also that Swirlix/Espurr have been confirmed to not be in my zone. This basically means my last high whim (Furfrou) is more than likely not in my zone either. Oh dear.

To follow on that completely unrelated subject, all three of those are interesting pokemon. Froakie, whimmy, but the other 2 will be subject to team wants. Of course, this is merely subjecture.

Interesting, interesting. Just out of curiosity, if you were, hypothetically speaking, to be offered a choice between those three for your FB team, which of them would you be most likely to choose?

While I would answer that question, hypothetically others may be watching and manipulate fate against such odds, but nevertheless given circumstance the swordy thing would fit well into Alex's team.

I was initially planning on going with Byron, and now I kind of regret not doing that.

I honestly don't feel Goodra's appeal at all, probably because I feel no sympathy for Dragonite either - a shame since both their movepools are ridiculously awesome. Hawlucha is your zone's MVP in my book, regardless of what else is revealed. :P

Yeah I actually really like Hawlucha. Was a bit miffed when it was first revealed but I've grown to like it a lot, and will be adding one in ASB at some point, but I just love the Goomy line for reasons that escape me.

I've decided to wait for Tess to update the last two zones first before I finalise my decision to leave Hawlucha behind. Goomy doesn't interest me but if my other main whims are in those last two zones then I'll be more happy with Hawlucha.
The main problem is that if I choose Hawchy, I might almost definitely regret this later when I learn the last two Pokemon in Byron's zone. And if I start regretting things, that regret may never leave me...

Scatterbug is a big no for me, although I love the way Arc introduced it to me. I didn't want to annoy my updater by RPing as a character who is visibly high but I might see if I can play around with it a bit more without it being irritating/inappropriete.
Skrelp is a Pokémon I could see going well with Reaver my Kingdra. I'll consider catching it but I'd happily trade it to MM or someone else if I manage to get someone to trade me a Helioptile or Inkay. I don't really have time for more than one new team member.

Today's Growlithe Day, so if you got one of those adorable puppies, now would be the time to get it some gifts.

Ha!
I just read my update. Funny thing is, as much as I might enjoy having a Pokémon that evolves into a dragon (Skrelp) or take my chances on whatever the fourth is - Swirlix was the ONE Pokémon of which I had I had neutral feelings of in both game, ASB and design but it was the ONE Pokémon of which I had a real idea for in terms of character and interaction with my other team mates. I don't care what the rest is at this point, I am going for the Swirlix! (Getting it is another matter but I'm going for it.) This brings me to Talon's question on what my idea was and is for my team. I have no set idea as I tend to drift from this to that. I had an idea when I started but it changes. I try to only bid for mon I have an idea for on how to RP. A few mon have passed by that I might personally like but then I have no idea how to RP with them. And few have passed by to which I have never paid attention to at first, but I bid on because of.. well.. whims. No regrets though! I'm glad with the Pokémon I have currently and I gave them personalities that can mingle quite well with the others. Another thing I try to pay attention to is balance of types. Lotad for example is a mon I've wanted for a while but I have little idea on how to RP it until it becomes Ludicolo and I already have a Bellsprout for a grass type. So I'm holding off until I actually have a character for it. So yeah, team building is mainly decided by what I already have and if (and only if) I have an idea on how to go further with it. They may be strict at times but it helps me in getting my Pokémon's quirks right.

It may be a few days before Tess updates as she was/is due to bring new life into this world anytime now. If she hasn't already. ---------- Based on who posted their team make-up by types I went ahead and compiled a little list based on the small sample size to see if there are any trends or surprises. The List was comprised from answers by Gemini Spark, OkikuMew, Stark, MarbleZone, Charminions, uhhhhh, and Missingo Master. Bug: 15 Dark: 32 Dragon: 11 Electric: 15 Fairy: 3 Fighting: 16 Fire: 35 Flying: 36 Ghost: 9 Grass: 21 Ground: 21 Ice: 8 Normal: 46* Poison: 36** Psychic: 26*** Rock: 5 Steel: 11 Water: 22 * 23 Normal types were either Eevees or birds dual typed as Normal such as Pidgey. ** 26 of the pokemon were all from Missingo Master's team in which he specializes in Poison types. *** 16 of the pokemon were all from OkikuMew's team in which she specializes in Psychic types. This is obviously a very small sample size. For example, if we were to include Arc Angel's team the Ghost numbers would be quite different. Still it does show us a few things we may or may not have noticed. Dark and Fire types are very popular even without myself, GS, or Charminions involved, everyone has at least one of both of these. About a third of the Fire types were either Torkoal, Numel, Slugma, or Ponyta based. there were 14 total of the common Fire types. Everyone also tends to have at least one water type which is not as surprising given how necessary Water types are in the games. I was a little surprised to see so many Fighting types and Steel types. Very few of those types have eggs hatched although Fighting Pound eggs have been a little more in demand lately than they were say a year ago. Rock and Ice come in fairly low as far as numbers. I would guess a lot of that has to do with not many Ice types in general and Fossils being difficult to obtain in FB. Still Geodude was a mainstay in Brock's team on the cartoon and we see very few of those even in FB. The electric numbers were a bit surprising as well given how popular the electric rodents seem to be. Then again, we don't see many of those around FB either despite most of them being classified as common. Anyway, I just figured I would make some broad observations based on a very small sample size for fun. After all, we have the information, so why not take a look at it and see what we can find. |

Well then. ..ARRRGH I CAN'T. I JUST CAN'T MAKE THIS DECISION. what if I miss someone cool because I chose Hawlucha? What if I miss Hawlucha because I wanted to risk getting something good? ...why can't I make any decision at all without immediately regretting making said decision because I'm scared I made the wrong decision

freaking yes creeper cat
it's all mine But actually, I would kind of like to know what the other people in my zone's plans are first. I kind of want Dedenne too, and I don't know what the fourth will be, so... Ah, so conflicted! Question: What one person captures isn't going to effect the other people in that zone, right? Like... there's more than one of the same thing?
