I liked Riley, I suspect your problem was as much with the big bad being boring.

So I don't know if it's the actor or his lines or what, but despite Angel in general being solid at the moment I'm really meh about Connor. I quite like the impact he has on the rest of the cast, but when he's on screen I just want him to be off screen again as quickly as possible.

Oh, gods, that episode always makes me bawl. Comparable to Jurassic Bark.

That ending, the first time it felt like a punch to the gut.

It's definitely hands down the most emotional episode of Angel (and potentially my all time favourite Angel episode), but I Will Always Love You, Hero and A Hole In The World (late S5 so you may not have seen this yet 'Cept if you're still watching through) are right behind it in the emotional Angel stakes.

On a lighter note, comedy Angel-wise I love Harm's Way. It's just such a light hearted break from the really dead seriousness of Angel, especially as mid/end-Season 3 onwards the series goes into a super serious plot mode (see all of Season 4). And it is only in the early stages of Season 5 do we get a few comedy-episodes again.

>A Hole In The World

Literally just finished watching this two minutes ago. Oh god the feels. I expect I'll finish Angel later this week, which is kind of a sad thought (but at least will be just in time for XY).

That episode really proves how good the Jossverse is. Right up until the end I was expecting that not to happen but then, boom it did. Like the writers are so ruthless.

Ah man I might have an Angel session later.

Just had several upset texts from a friend of mine who's watching the series blind and just reached The Body.

A third of the way into Season 4 myself (so where Spike is begrudgingly turning good), but I'm dreading getting to The Body next season. Partly because I've not seen it fully myself, but also because I'm sure my gf is going to have some kind of emotional breakdown when we get there.

I remember watching that as a high schooler and thinking it was pretty deep, but now that I'm over a decade older and having experienced deaths of people I know, I think I'd probably have an emotional breakdown watching The Body. Even vaguely remembering that episode stirs a lot of uncomfortable emotions and really showed how well Joss Whedon can capture moments in life that resonates with the audience.

Oh man, that brings back memories. I used to love watching the commentaries on my sister's Buffy and Angel DVDs.

I remember Buffy Season 7 had some really good ones, particularly for Selfless and Conversations With Dead People.

And I remember The Killer In Me had a commentary, and I have such a soft spot for that episode. I love it so I'd watch the episode and then watch the commentary right after~ :'D

EDIT: I'm totally going to watch The Killer In Me later. Love a good Buffy sesh~
