Copy Kush's tactics and do a cool backflip to Dive into the water to dodge the Bubbles and hit Lanturn. Then copy Kush's shaky grasp of physics and orient yourself so you fire a Night Shade onto Lanturn's head, propelling yourself upwards and out of the water again.

Because the aquatic hokey cokey is cool.

Round 7: I'd like to be, under the sea...

Oh god... my head...

Abe fires a Beam of Bubbles, which jet through the water toward the ghost as their originator sinks. A few strike her body, before Jupetta utilises her new swimming ability to Dive downward, dodging the rest and smacking the Lanturn.

Abe then fires a Secret Power, which hits Jupetta without incurring status. She returns with a Night Shade, jetting her upward, but the force isn't enough to push her all the way outta the water, on account of being energy.

Abe took decent damage, just under 1/2 now. Jupetta is the same.

Abe used fair energy, just above 1/3. Somewhow, Jupetta is exactly the same.

Abe's Stockpile is growing, Jupetta can still swim good.

They're about 3 metres/9 feet apart, horizontally, Jupetta at 2 metres/6 feet down and Abe at 4 metres/12 feet down.

Orders from Zora.

Round 8: Beam me up, Scotty

Jupetta continues her run of GIV'N HER ALL SHE'S GOT, CAP'N, firing a Pulse of Darkness at the anglerfish. Abe responds with a Thunderwave, locking up the Banette's ghostly muscles and holding her still.

Abe continues to hold the electrical net while REROUTING POWER THROUGH THE DEFLECTOR, REVERSING THE POLARITY OF THE NEUTRON FLOW, Stockpileng more energy, increasing his reserves at the cost of actual energy, while the original investment grows a bit.

Abe took decent damage, now between 1/2 and 1/3. Jupetta is slightly better off.

Abe used decent energy, his main reserves just below 1/4. Jupetta used a bit less, just above 1/4.

Abe's Stockpile has received another investment, while growing. Jupetta can still swim good, but not so much right now as she's got some nasty paralysis going on. Physical movement will be a big no-no next round.

They're still about 3 metres/9 feet apart, horizontally, though Jupetta's now 1 metre/3 feet down and Abe at 3 metres/9 feet down.

Orders from Kush.

Thunder Wave doesn't work underwater. It only deals light electrical damage and very minor paralasis at best.

Your first point is arguable but I wouldn't say that myself since all other electrical attacks work pretty well. Especially since Lanturn is Water/Electric and thus better at it than all other pokémon when underwater.

Given that I held you for the full amount of time, your second point is wrong in terms of paralysis, though the damage is a little high.

Thunderbolt and follow up immedietly with Ice Beam!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Siding with Kush on the TWave issue. Seeing how a Lanturn is unlikely to use the attack in anything other than an aquatic environment, and is an Electric-type at that, I'd imagine it to have more control over Thunder Wave than a non-aquatic/non-Electric Pokémon using it in water. Like Banette, for example.

Round 9: Running on empty

Dropping the net, Abe fires off a Thunderbolt, which zaps the Ghost-type for decent damage, knocking most of the paralysis out of her. Jupetta responds with a tactic gaining in popularity, using Spiteful feelings to drain energy for the Lanturn, leaving him visibly exhausted.

The anglerfish now fires a Beam of Ice energy, which zig-zags toward Jupetta, catching her a hit and causing her left arm to freeze. Jupetta would now use her sig, but it appears that this last attack was too much for the Water-type, who now floats belly-up at the surface, KOd from energy loss.

Abe is unable to battle! Your next Pokémon please, Kush!

Jupetta took some good damage, below 1/4 and into critical health.

Jupetta used decent, energy, below 1/4 now and heading into critical, just over 1 HB left in the tanks.

Jupetta's swimming ability is starting to fade. She's got mild paralysis that may affect her next round.

Jupetta's near the surface of the water.

Pokémon and orders from Kush.

Round 10: You are creating all the Bubbles at night

With his first Pokémon out for the count, Kush sends out a Starmie, Ruby [insert generic Kaiser Chiefs joke here]. The starfish has a type-disadvantage against her opponent, but Jupetta's low health and energy reserves mean she may not have much fight left in her.

Ruby starts off with a Psychic wave. Jupetta doesn't like the looks of this, and covers herself with a dark aura, protecting her from the attack and allowing her to launch a Pursuit of the new opponent. The bubble carries her toward the Psychic-type, bursting upon contact and dealing a nast shot to Ruby's fresh health reserves.

The extrasensory echinoderm now fires a Beam of concentrated Bubbles, causing Biffy Clyro to start up in the background which hit Jupetta at close range, knocking her backward. The ghoul retaliates by cloaking her Claws in Shadows, and swipes at her adversary, another super-effective shot striking the Water-type.

Ruby took some nasty hits there, and is just above 3/4 already. Jupetta took decent damage, now well into critical, below the midpoint of 1/4 and empty.

Ruby used decent energy, a fair way from perfect. Psychic at 3/4. Jupetta used decent energy too, now definately into critical, about 1/2 an HB left. Dark gone.

Jupetta's swimming ability is wearing off. Paralysis has been knocked out of her.

They're both at the water's surface, about 1 metre/3 feet apart.

Orders from Zora.

Try to get off a Shadow Sneak before it can make you doubledead.

If you're still only single dead, then I dunno. Confuse Ray? I guess your opponent can't be told to CLOSE YOUR EYES THEN YOU CAN'T LOSE.

Round 11: Tangled puppet-strings

Despite having initiative this round, Jupetta is immensely shagged-out, and sets about trying to animate her Shadow, while Ruby generates an Icy Wind. The chilling winds smack the Banette, but aren't enough to knock her out, and she initiates her Sneak attack, though due to the fact they're in a bright, multi-lit arena at the top of a pool of water, her shadow is somewhat lacking, and she manages merely a light hit upon the Starfish.

Severely spent now, Jupetta attempts to launch a Confuse Ray, but Ruby's freshness helps her out, and she Charges up her electric reserves, incurring slight recoil thanks to being wet, though the resulting Beam deals the finishing blow to Jupetta just as her attack reaches readyness. The ghost floats like a discarded doll at the surface of the pool, eyes swirling.

Jupetta is unable to battle! Your next Pokémon please, Zora!

Ruby took a light, though super-effective hit, and a bit of recoil, now just above 2/3.

Ruby used fair energy, just above 3/4 overall. Ice is a fair way from perfect, and Electric is at 3/4.

Ruby managed to grab a boost from Charge Beam, bolstering her Special Attacks for the next few rounds.

Ruby's still at the surface of the water

Ruby Pokémon and orders from Zora.

Oh god like all 5 members of my team remaining can own Starmie. But the Glorious Gorebyss Gambit is stuck in my mind and even though it's really a terrible plan that could easily turn what would be otherwise a simple victory into a shameful defeat I can't resist myself.

Sak, time for a swim!

Secret Power, Supersonic!

Round 12: Down, down, deeper and down

Recalling the waterlogged puppet, Zora sends out her replacement, a camped-up male Gorebyss named Sakurabisu, henceforth referred to as Sak for convenience. Plopping into the pool, the effeminate fish eyes his extrasensory enemy, ready to make battle.

Glowing even pinker than usual, Sak starts by firing a beam of Secret Power. Ruby is in no mood to take damage, and Dives down to the bottom of the pool, escaping the beam's reach.

The Gorebyss is mildly pissed off at his foe's insolance, and so lets out a barrage of Supersonic noise. Due to sound travelling better in water, the sounds still make it down to Ruby, who finds her mind slightly addled as a result.

Ruby took no damage, still just above 2/3. Sak took no damage, on perfect health.

Ruby used light energy, just below 3/4 now. Sak used fair energy, a slight way from perfect.

Ruby's still got that boost, but is mildly confused, may interfere with her next orders. Or not, we'll see how the RNG feels.

Sak's at the surface of the water, while Ruby is about 5 metres/16 feet down. Horizontally, they're about 6 metres/20 feet apart.

Orders from Kush.
