What is your most tear attracting moment in Pokémon?
What moment (or moments) in the Pokémon anime make you sad or even cry? I bet there are a few for everyone lol....
I don't know why, but when Ash left Dawn and Brock, I literally cried for no reason really. I mean I did with Misty and Brock's goodbye too, but everyone hated that. I just had always liked Ash, Dawn, and Brock as traveling companions. Dunno. But we definitely can't leave out "Bye Bye Butterfree".... I mean, the end, when Ash's Butterfree has to go with his mate or whatevs, and they just had to make Ash cry and they just had to do one of those heart wrenching flashbacks. Like the one when Misty left, but that was ten times worse because it just had to have a song to go along with it. And don't get me started about Jerichi leaving Max and co. when they sing that lullaby together. I love that movie, but I always want to skip that part. Ugh....

Well, Bye Bye Butterfree, that pretty much goes without saying. That said, I can't not mention Jessie and James releasing Arbok and Weezing.
And this one's not sad, but I always tear up just a little bit when Ash's Metapod evolves.I dunno, I like that moment. |

The first thing that came to mind was PMD2's ending. UGH it gets me every time.
The next thing I thought of was definitely when the Pokemon start crying in the first movie when Ash gets turned to stone, that's definitely a tearjerker. As far as the actual anime, Bye Bye Butterfree was already mentioned. I also remember crying the first time I saw Ash lose the Indigo League, I thought he was destined to be champion but I guess not

Before I started disliking Ash I cried when Mewtwo turned him to stone. Goodbye Butterfree gets me erry time tho.
Oh and James just has a shit ton of sad things to go on about. Really is a shame the anime's most depth filled character is wasted on comedic relief and repetitive conflict.

The very first anime episode that I watched was Bye-Bye Butterfree. And it just HAD to break my heart.
I think that's the reason why Butterfree has a special place in my heart (and in my Gen 1 party). I also cried during Jirachi Wishmaker! That bond between Jirachi and Max is too precious to just let it pass... |

For me, the No.1 tearjerker is the scene in Snow Way Out where Ash's Pokémon disobey his orders in order to keep him warm with their body heat. I loved it in English, but the Japanese version is so much better I can't bring myself to share the English one. (Japanese version here on a sketchy site, scene starts at 15m09s.) Both versions are their respective programs' No.1 tearjerker scenes for me though. There's a reason that Kanto squad remains one of the most beloved teams Ash has ever had, and scenes like this one are part of it.
... Tearing up just finishing off the paragraph, Jesus.

I don't think I've ever actually cried over anything in the anime, outside of Mewtwo's origin when Ambertwo died. Mainly because seeing a child die in pokemon was quite shocking, even if she was a clone. The show never really touched on adult matters like that ever again.

Never cried or came close to tears to any event in the anime or games.

PMD2 ending gets me every. Fucking. Time. Oh my god I tear up a little bit just thinking about it.
And I guess when my friends dog ate my pearl version when I was young. I was pretty upset. I had some real gems on that cartridge. Like my baller Torterra. Ugh. I haven't seen enough of the Anime to say a specific episode, but maybe Pokemon 2000, the one with Lugia.

M05, always M05.
I get that Latios kinda had to kill itself in order to create a new Soul Dew, but the scene with Latias (presumably) trying to convince Latios not to is extremely saddening and will always get me.

Yah...I have to agree. PMD2 ("Oh Bidoof..." *cries*) That's where I lose it.
The anime episode "Do I Hear a Ralts" at the end. It's already one of the most well-done episodes of the entire series. And to have the ending it did. I'm speaking of the dub with the song and Ralts' speaking. I don't know if the Japanese has any of that. I don't believe I ever saw that episode in Japanese. I need to DVR that episode if it ever plays again. |

Pokemon Mystery Dungeons Explorers of Time, Darkness and Sky are collectively called PMDS2.

PMD2. Hands down. Just one of the best plots in Pokemon in general. Especially the music. It really is hard not to cry.
Also the entirity of N's character arc in the games. He needs a hug. I miss him and I hope he is in Sun/Moon.

I've gotta say, the first episode of the anime. When "Tears after the Cloudy Weather" plays, and when Pikachu uses the storm cloud to bring out a massive thunder, it brought a tear to my eye. It didn't happen the first time I watched it though, it was only after I gained an appreciation for the anime that I realized how good it was.
Of course, it was classic when Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team finished, and I guess a Nuzlocke brought me to tears when I lost my Gyarados to a Ninja Boy's Koffing who just HAPPPENED to have Thunder...Oof...I lost my Swellow because it was in a double battle and it used Fly and the next turn my opponent sent out a Manectric that used Thunder while I was in the air...I mean it's cool that Thunder hits you while you're flying, but it's also awful when your Swellow all the way from the beginning of the game just dies off :/ |
