Trainer Bios Trainer:Big Trainer Name: William "Big" Mason Age: 27 Starter Pokemon: Hotstuff, Male Charmander Birthday: September 27th Memakyu & Emakiss Updater Rewards Background: You've heard of multiverse theory, it's all the rage these days, but what people don't account for is that even relatively close split don't necessarily proceed forward at the same rate. Sometimes when a choice is made, one option continues for years, while another languishes in a single moment for the same relative time. But you might wonder what this has to do with a trainer named Big. Well it’s best to start at the beginning, in Goldenrod. Big was born into a middle class family in the biggest city in Johto. A fairly nice childhood with a caring fortune teller for a mother, a sister with a talent for telekinesis, and a respected Frontier Brain for a father. He intended to follow in his admired father’s footsteps and become a powerful trainer in his own right, but as his 10th birthday grew near… the scandal happened. Some would call it ironic, that a Brain for the Battle Arcade would get caught inside gambling on his own matches, but Big and the rest of his family wouldn’t find it humorous, especially after the ensuing lawsuits and divorce. They were left with next to nothing and as a result when Big turned ten, it wasn’t financially viable for him to start his journey. In the meantime he would study and learn all he could, spending every bit of free time at the library reading, researching, watching the pros play on TV and rewatching matches on the computer. And he’d do this for years, becoming as much of an expert as one can without the actual experience. Until the fateful day his mom was able to intercept a delivery to the local game corner. By calling in a favor she got her hands on a Pokémon meant to be a reward, a Munchlax. And so Big would would head out to Olivine to start his journey. But ships stop at different ports, and that’s where the river of time splits. Down one stream he makes his way toward Vermillion in Kanto, meets another young trainer named Quinn and his Timburr and together they take on gyms, supernatural threats, and criminals… but their adventure comes to a head in two part. First in Saffron they win a smaller tournament, winning Mega Stones, but unwittingly putting themselves at the mercy of a deranged Psychic man named Karsk who had the power to wield Unown as extensions of his own body and various elemental Plates. And though they scraped out a very narrow victory against him, the wake of the Man with the Cracked Glasses would follow him home to Goldenrod, where the young trainers would get in over their heads trying to stop criminals from stealing from the local game corner… but ultimately the tide of that last battle was against him. And in that dire moment, the fragments of Karsk’s power that Big had held onto would save them… for a price. He would have to agree to gather the rest of the shards of his power and revive the man before the end of the year, and in return time would rewind to before the battle, allowing Big to take a different path. But this stream of time would soon run dry, even as powerful as the psychic manipulations of this man were, they weren’t meant to be, and there would be consequences for trying, and consequences for agreeing… Down the other stream Big’s path lead him to the region of Fizzytopia. While these adventures were less structured and more sporadic he would still encounter many of the same Pokémon and grow in similar ways. Without a constant human companion he found himself able to communicate with his Pokémon a lot more closely once he bonded with them well enough. Eventually though, he would find himself lead, almost pulled by the worst headache of his life to a part of the region called the Realm of Shadows. He had heard rumors that some Pokémon gained dark power there and quite honestly, his Zubat, Alucard, wouldn’t shut up about it once he had heard that’s where they were heading. But as he traveled through the headache would only get worse, they were tormented by a mischievous Pachirisu, until finally the headache grew to a point where he doubled over. Because like real water, the time stream doesn’t just stop, it has to go somewhere. Memories of the other timeline flood into the mind of the trainer and his Pokémon, including the ones not with him at the time, and presumably ones not yet caught by this Big. Including the voices of the deal he made, a debt that still must be fulfilled, though because the year cannot come to the other world there’s no telling how much time he has. This also had the side effect of altering a lot of his Pokémon, making many of them unique from others of their kind. And this is where Big adventures from today, in search of these remnants of Karsk’s power, and in search if the other friends came to this world as well. Though his original goal remains the same from before he left, become a Frontier Brain to surpass his father, and become one of the very best.
