Ocean of Mystery - Please reply in deepskyblue
Coordinator: Alright, my patience is wearing thin now for reasons I will address via PM when I return home later tonight. For now, I will point out two things. Firstly, if you wish to treat your Pokémon like it's an absolute idiot, that's your right as a trainer, but please don't RP with it in battle situations when you have no intention of allowing it to do anything other than look like an ass. Secondly, you need to WEAKEN a wild Pokémon through battle before attempting capture. If you don't, all capture attempts will backfire. I foolishly chose to try and save a bad situation in the last update, I won't be doing it again. Saturn can only shake his head, knowing full well that he did follow your instructions. Perhaps not on Krabby because you'd been too distracted to notice it had gone, but he followed them nonetheless. Sitting on the sand while watching you throw your Heavy Ball at Psyduck, Saturn watches while the little duck Pokémon spins around and whacks the ball away with its tail. Your Heavy Ball falls to the sand, and Psyduck turns back to the water before starting to paddle back out into the ocean...

Alonso lunged across the room with unexpected success, intercepting the demonic rat with an eager strike of his stinger and hurling the rodent right out of reach of its destination. He sneered, releasing a hiss that engendered a vehement competition between the two creatures as it conflicted with the fearful noise exerted by the rat. Rudo flinched at the dreadful sound, his anxiety heightening by the second. The Rattata retaliated once more, despite the mass of wounds that Alonso had selflessly added to its already tattered exterior, and brutally thrust him into the wall behind. Rudo raised his head to survey the extent of the furor, and cringed at seeing Alonso at a disadvantage. “Keep stinging it – stab it, stab it, stab it!” He clenched a rope attached to his button that followed to his rear, and upon realizing it he gave the rope a swift tug, revealing a pouch that was tucked within his breeches. He smiled, and pulled it open, revealing two tiny Pokeballs inside. He plucked one out, and returned his attention to the battle, a sudden consideration hitting him. He reveled in how his ideas seemed to materialize in clusters. “Hit it with a steel tail!” He instructed triumphantly, releasing the pouch so that it hung inches from the ground, suspended only by the rope. In his fingers he twirled the Pokeball, in its minimized state, and he stood boldly, preparing for the opportune moment to make his attempt.

Ancient Tomb - Please reply in gold
Ollie: Quite enthusiastically instructing Alonzo to sting and stab Rattata, he is quite eager to take it upon himself to obey since his foe is more feisty than either of you could have imagined and he feels he has little choice other than to retaliate with vigour equal to that of the purple rat. Taking advantage of Rattata's close proximity, Alonzo flicks his tail about wildly, striking Rattata for heavy damage which only results in infuriating it further. Rattata whips its own tail around, whacking Alonzo in the eyes and causing them to water heavily. Rattata leaps back, panting heavily, yet pleased to see that its opponent is partially blinded from that stinging Tail Whip. Alonzo is nowhere near ready to give in and with his tail glinting with a metallic sheen he leaps away from the wall and swings around midair. Rattata's eyes practically bulge out of its head because, due to sheer luck alone, Alonzo is right on target. Desperate to evade the attack, but with the wounds it had sustained not allowing it to move fast enough, Rattata can only watch while Alonzo's Iron Tail seems to move in slow motion straight toward it. The attack collides with brute force right into the side of Rattata's head, the chilling crack causing even Alonzo to shudder as Rattata is thrown across the room before landing in a crumpled heap on the cold sandstone floor. Rattata is KOed. Level up for Alonzo. Seeing the opportunity you have been waiting for, you immediately toss the Pokéball you have been holding, watching while the red capture beam shoots out before sucking Rattata inside. The ball wobbles on the ground once... twice... three times... before the green capture light shines bright with a successful, Ping!" echoing throughout the tiny chamber. Congratulations, you've caught a Lv.6 Male Rattata... And with Rattata's capture, you've unlocked your rights to the Egg House and are free to leave the Arcane Realm to travel in a mainstream zone of your choice. You've been an absolute pleasure to update, and I'm actually going to miss writing for you :/ Good luck ^-^

The small sphere danced frantically between his fingers, and his tongue stroked his bottom lip – subconscious anxiety freezing him in place, enraptured by the waning seconds of the fierce battle. He took wide steps to encircle the ferocious beasts, ensuring the torch was poised to shed as much fiery light on the kafuffle as possible. The culmination of enclosed heat and steady adrenaline formed a rather startling bead of sweat to trickle down his brow, a distraction that provoked Rudo’s confusion and disgruntlement. He wiped it off agitatedly, and proceeded to withdraw an extravagant fan from his burgundy jacket and cool his face and nerves before they got too far, slipping the small Pokeball into the depths of his sleeve. Meanwhile, Alonso exerted all his effort in defeating the vicious creature that assaulted him, sacrificing no time for recuperation. His tail lashed at the bedraggled body of the rat like a springing cobra, causing its agitation to soar and veil its true vitality. Yet again, he was caught off guard, and a vicious sting hindered his vision as another tail whip countered his own attack. Alonso could only hiss and swing his tail in all directions in a desperate flail while recovering his vision. The rat leapt backwards, maliciously admiring the distress it had induced upon Alonso, confident in having blinded the winged scorpion. Rudo’s immediate reaction was to aid – to cheat his way towards victory – and attack the rat himself from behind. Though he reclined the poised torch as he spied Alonso’s tail glint in the firelight, and suddenly hang weightily below him as he scaled the walls once again. Rudo grinned enthusiastically, and hopped backwards to survey the effects of Alonso’s first Iron Tail. Then it hit him that Alonso couldn’t even see, and the attack – particularly being his first try at it – could swing in any direction at all. Fearful not only for the wellbeing of his own, rather fragile, body, but also that of the urn’s, Rudo swiveled around and scurried away from the range of his companion’s oncoming attack, yet shielded the urn in front of him as best he could. A resounding crunch caused Rudo to drop the fan with a faint clatter, and cringe as he did so. Pausing for a few seconds to ascertain that pain did not shoot through some part of his own anatomy, he soon gathered what had just occurred, and he swung back around, flicking his arm and catching the pokeball which flung out from within his sleeve. Sure enough, he was graced with the heartening sight of an unconscious and particularly decrepit Rattata half way across the room from where Alonso now stood, shaking his head violently to rid his eyes of the stinging pain. Rudo cried in triumph as he enlarged the Pokeball, and let it loose towards the heap across the room. In a flash, the ball encased the rat, and began to quiver gently upon the sandstone ground. Rudo flicked an optimistic glance towards Alonso, who now hopped towards his companion with hesitation, still blinking vigorously. A ping sound bounced from the hard walls, and the ball lay still upon the ground. Rudo yelled with excitement, and bounded over towards the ball, “Didn’t I tell you, Alonso, that this whole predicament was worth the effort? Now we got ourselves a wonderful new beasty to accompany us on our many escapades!” Alonso merely leapt upon the sandstone wall behind him in reply, and proceeded to swiftly exit the tomb from the way they had entered, sidling across the walls with alarming speed. Rudo’s eyes widened with unease, and he quickly bent over to pluck the ball from its spot, minimize it, and give it a nice new place upon his person - a slot within a gem-void ring. He held it up to the torchlight and admired the new addition to his attire, before he slipped it onto his left hand and swiftly pursued Alonso out of the tomb – voicing his protest all the way.

"Treecko..." The green lizard pushed past its frustrations and accepted Aria's apology, grinning with a smile worth a million bucks. Aria rested his restless face on his soft sweaty palms, attempting a grin, resulting in tears sliding down the smooth surface of his skin. He knew they were ready, ready to overcome and conquer their first battle and hopefully capture the Psyduck. Sucking up his tears, he proudly stood up, and eyed the Psyduck. Thinking of a strategy that would work this time, he knee'd down to Saturn, and gave him the instructions as to how the plan was going to work. "Saturn, it's not going to be easy, but I really believe in you and I need you to trust me on this one, kay bud'? he said in a friendly face that was quite familiar to Saturn. "What I want you to do is, distract Psyduck, while I scare it, then you hit him hard with that Leer of yours, okay?" Saturn nodded in slight curiosity as to what his trainer was exactly thinking. Treecko swiftly ran towards the Psyduck and did a saumersalt in the air to distract it from heading into the ocean, Aria quickly followed up on the plan as he yelled out "BOO!" behind the Psyduck to get its attention while Saturn yet used another heart-pounding attack known as Leer. "Great job, Saturn." Aria yelled out from behind. It wasn't going to be easy, but they were up for the battle no matter what. |

Cyrus cursed to himself under his breath. He hadn't meant to make matters worse for the Oddish. But this was something that had to be done. Better to be scared out of your wits than to be beat up by a vicious creature like Mankey. "CELES!" Cyrus shouted out to his determined Chikorita. "Don't let your guard down! Try to slow Mankey down with a Leech Seed! Then while he's snared, get him with two more Tackle attacks!" Cyrus remembered Mankey's bulging eyes and added, "Aim for the gut! Got it?" "CHIKA!" Cyrus didn't like violence. But if he had to choose between Oddish and Mankey, he was going to choose Mankey. There's a difference between beating up a defenseless creature and punishing a bully. Cyrus believed that strongly. Now he just had to hope -- for Celes' sake -- that Leech Seed would hit its mark. Otherwise, things were going to be as bad as before ... Forest of Adventure - Please reply in limegreen
Talon: Knowing this isn't going to be an easy battle, Celes doesn't waste a moment upon receiving her orders. Not even waiting for Mankey to compose itself, she fires a small seed toward it which lands on Mankey's leg and begins to sprout vines which snake up and around its torso. Mankey is well and truly tied up at the moment and furious as ever, swiping at the vines in a desperate attempt to disentangle itself. Before it has a chance to break free, Celes rams it with another Tackle, causing the angry ape to fall over yet again. Mankey isn't about to let an amateur beat the crap out of it though and scratches at itself, slashing the vines to strips. Leering at Celes who is powerless to move while caught up in the primate's death stare, she can only watch while Mankey closes in and lashes out at her, scratching her cheek. With the effect of Leer now broken, Celes quickly retaliates, tackling Mankey to the ground. Both Pokémon roll in the grass before finally breaking free, each staring defiantly at the other... Ocean of Mystery - Please reply in deepskyblue Coordinator: It's good to see you trying here so I'll cut you a break despite a minor slip up. Keep in mind that you can't have your Pokémon use a follow up attack without knowing if the first one is successful. You can suggest he use it if he's successful with his first set of instructions, but you can't state that he does use it because then you're moving into the gray area known as self updating. Keep up with the strategy though, it's good to see you giving it a shot. Watching Psyduck head back toward the ocean, your first instinct is to give in, watching helplessly as it enters the water. Something soon clicks in you mind however, and realising you're going to get nowhere if you give in too easily you decide to take matters into your own hands and attempt to stop the duck Pokémon from getting away. Saturn quickly races for the water performing a somersault and flying over top of Psyduck before landing in the water directly in front of it. Psyduck, too stunned to continue advancing into the open sea, stops dead before a loud "BOO!" startles it again. Too confused to even know what to make of the situation, Psyduck looks from Saturn to you and back to Saturn again before being caught up in Saturn's Leer. Unable to move, it looks like Psyduck could very well be easy prey if you can continue to halt its escape...

"Saturn, I don't think Psyduck's able to move at all, so this has to be our best chance to use Pound, we'll definetely weaken it if we're successful." Aria declared war against Psyduck, and Saturn followed up with the strategy, or at least tried to jump out the water, but couldn't reach Psyduck as it was stuck in the wet-sticky sand. "Treecko..." Saturn let Aria know of the problem. However, Aria thought of a way to resolve it, and so he communicated back to Saturn about it. "Saturn, try using your tail as a propellor to get you out of the water, okay?" "Treecko!" Saturn nodded fully trusting Aria's suggestion flying him out of the water like a jet plane and inches before Psyduck's frozen face. |

"Think!" he shouted in his head. "Think!" Cyrus desperately tried to find a way to bring an end to Mankey's rampage. Everything so far had failed, Cyrus thought. He was beginning to lose hope. [center:aa027]* * *[/center:aa027] "CHIKA!" Chikorita shouted back at her master. She could sense that Cyrus was beginning to doubt himself. But Chikorita, she believed in Cyrus. She knew they had done the right thing. Some people might say they shouldn't have butted in, but Chikorita agreed with Cyrus's sense of right and wrong. They had done what they thought was right: trying to help a Pokemon in need. The only thing Cyrus had failed to realize, Celes thought, was that there had been two Pokemon in need. Oddish wasn't the only victim of Mankey's rage here. The self-inflicted scrapes all over Mankey's face were proof enough of that. This Pokemon was a danger to itself. "CHIKA!" she called out once more. Cyrus snapped out of his stupor -- good. Now ... what would he have her do? [center:aa027]* * *[/center:aa027] "Celes!" Cyrus called. "Maintain your position between Mankey and Oddish!" Cyrus looked around. "C'mon, c'mon!" he thought, anxious for a solution. But he could find none. In this clearing, Mankey and Celes were too far away from any trees to make use of. And Mankey had just torn through that Leech Seed as if it had been cobwebs. The tackles seemed to have taken some toll, but not without a price: Cyrus looked at Celes, panting, her little body heaving and hoing as she took each breath. She was exhausted. Cyrus had to figure something out fast, otherwise he would fail not only Oddish ... but Celes as well. "CELES!" he called once more to his Chikorita. "Show that Mankey we mean business with another Leer attack!" Cyrus knew Mankey acknowledged Celes's power. Hopefully the Leer attack would have some effect. "Then, ... USE CUT ATTACK!" "CHIKA!?" Celes couldn't believe it. Cyrus was going to use that violent move on a Pokemon? "Trust me ... it's for his own good. If we don't do this, he's only going to cause more harm to himself. We have to end this!" But could they end it?, Cyrus panicked. Mankey showed no signs of backing down. Those eyes ... Cyrus could almost see the fire burning within. "He's put up a good fight," Cyrus admitted, "... BUT IT ENDS HERE! CELES! Hang in there, and show that Mankey who's boss!" Cyrus knew that using Cut was risky. And he didn't like to use such an attack on a living creature. But the cuts and scrapes over Celes's and Mankey's bodies reminded Cyrus that he had to resort to these drastic measures to avoid an escalation towards further destruction ... Talon: Mankey, too angry to think straight let alone realise that glaring at Celes means she'll be able to Leer it down again, is soon paralysed by her stare. Unfortunately, Celes is also caught up in Mankey's Leer, causing quite the dilemma indeed as neither are able to attack. Fortunately Leer's effect is only temporary, and as both Pokémon break free of their paralysis, they begin to attack at the exact same moment. Mankey lunges forward and lashes out with both arms, fully intending to Scratch Celes to ribbons, but she is quick, leaping into the air and turning 360 degrees to force as much power into the leaf on her head as possible. Mankey's attack misses while Celes' attack hits home HARD, Cutting Mankey diagonally across the shoulder. The little primate unleashes a squeal that makes your skin crawl, grasping at its injured shoulder and panting quite heavily. Its eyes are almost red, quite possibly the result of a combination of fatigue, pain and rage, but whatever the case it's looking very weak... Ocean of Mystery - Please reply in deepskyblue Coordinator: Self updating is a term used when updatees do something going directly against what is written in an update, make up something that isn't mentioned in an update, or take control of a situation or an opponent. While I appreciate you trying to add a little extra something to your reply, nowhere in the update did I mention Treecko being "stuck". Please let me do the updating - it's my job. Also remember that you can order up to three moves per round (attack or defense), which will help the battle to move along a lot faster. With Psyduck caught up in Saturn's Leer, you see now to be the perfect opportunity to stop the little duck from getting away. Saturn listens intently, never allowing his gaze to leave Psyducks, while you instruct him on what to do next. Nodding his understanding, Saturn spins his tail like that of a propellor which helps to boost him forward quickly. Making a fist, he Pounds Psyduck square between the eyes knocking it onto its behind. Landing in the water with a small splash, Psyduck is looking rather confused, before its expression slowly changes to one of annoyance followed by one of anger. It's unsure of why it's being attacked and has had enough. Regaining its feet, Psyduck stares Saturn right in the eye before reaching out and swatting him with a Scratch attack. Well it certainly appears your plan has worked, as you have Psyducks full attention now...

"You've got to be kidding me!" Celes thought. "You intend to capture this thing, Cyrus?" Mankey was a serious threat to everybody around him. Celes had faith in her trainer, but that faith fell short of miracles. She couldn't believe for one second that Mankey would obey any master, let alone refrain from trying to tear him limb from limb. Cyrus could tell Celes was in shock. Indeed, Cyrus had never had any intention of trying to capture this Pokemon; he had only wanted to scare it away, to make it call of its attack against Oddish. But Cyrus realized now that that would never happen. If they knocked Mankey out and left him be, it would only be a matter of time before Mankey would return -- with a vengeance -- and Oddish would be worse off than where it started. No, Cyrus thought, the only solution would be to try to take Mankey out of the picture. Without killing him, Cyrus reminded himself. He had to -- he was barely able to tolerate the sight of Mankey's shoulder. "Celes!" Cyrus called out. "If we don't take Mankey to a Pokémon Center soon, those wounds could fester!" That's right, Cyrus thought. Oddish wasn't the only Pokemon in danger. They couldn't just leave Mankey like this. If they did, he might die. Those wounds needed to be treated. "He's right," Celes thought. "I could use a visit to the Pokémon Center myself, but Mankey ..." Celes eyed the oozing wound on Mankey's shoulder. "Cyrus would never mean to cause a Pokemon that much harm and then just leave it be. The moment he ordered me to use Cut ... I should have realized he wasn't abandoning Mankey." "CHIKA!" Celes cried out to Cyrus, confirming her approval of his plan. "All right!" Cyrus cried. "Now! Mankey's breathing is getting really deep! He's getting exhausted. So ... we cut off the air supply. Celes! Aim for Mankey's gut once more, and this time, give it your best Tackle yet! Knock the wind out of Mankey!" Cyrus hoped that by knocking Mankey in the gut once more, the oxygen-starved primate would finally be taken out of the fight. "After you attempt the Tackle attack, I want you to launch another Leech Seed at Mankey! With his shoulder torn up like that, he's not going to have as easy a time ripping through the vines as he did before!" Cyrus had to hope this would all work ... "And finally ... no matter what ... try to ensure you get off one last Tackle to his gut!" Cyrus grasped for a PokéBall, but his sweaty fingers slipped around the smooth casing. He was nervous. This plan looked good on paper ... but would it work? Cyrus subconsciously quit fumbling for the PokéBall and just watched as the next battleplan began to unfold ... Cyrus's Registration Post

Talon: Mankey may be tired, but you're also aware that Celes won't be able to take much more at this point either and decide to go for broke. Relaying your instructions to Celes, she quickly moves into action. Luckily Mankey is in too much pain to react as swiftly as normal and is too late to dodge Celes' first Tackle, taking a direct hit to the gut which winds it making it unable to retaliate immediately. Celes, not wanting to waste a moment of precious time, releases a Leech Seed which attaches itself to Mankey's leg and begins sprouting vines which manage to tie its legs together. Mankey, enraged to be at such a disadvantage, digs both feet into the ground and puts all of its force into a flying leap aimed right toward Celes with its lethal claws spread wide to do serious damage. Celes is ready for it this time, and rushes for Mankey to meet it head-on, the two colliding with a sickening thud before falling to the ground. Both Pokémon are laying still on the forest floor and while you're convinced Celes has also been knocked out, she begins to stir. Celes rises to her feet looking quite bruised and has several large scratch marks across her upper torso, but is otherwise fine. Mankey on the other hand is resting peacefully in KO land. Level up for Celes. At that moment you hear a delighted squeal from behind you and look to see Oddish hopping up and down excitedly. It appears you're not the only one to want to see Mankey gone from this forest...

"Chika!" Celes panted, forcing a smile. Her body ached. In the words of a human movie actor, Celes felt that she, too, "could use a vacation." But they had done it. Mankey was inside that PokéBall now ... which meant that he was no longer a threat to Oddish. Now ... now he was her problem, Celes mused. Cyrus turned to Oddish, who was still hopping up and down with excitement. Hearing Oddish's squeals of delight confirmed Cyrus's hope: they had done the right thing. "Well, Oddish," he said, "I think we'll be on our way." Turning from the jubilant Oddish, Cyrus addressed Celes, picking up her PokéBall from his belt. "You've earned a good rest. As if I would expect you to walk through this forest after all that! Chikorita, return!" Cyrus's only concern now was to get proper medical attention to Chikorita and Mankey as soon as possible. The only problem was ... which way to go? Out of character: Thanks for all the fun I've had so far with this adventure. ^_^ As you can tell from the reply above, I'm not quite sure if I'm *supposed* to excuse myself from this adventure yet or if I am encouraged to finish out the story. (If it helps, I would prefer to finish the story but am also well-aware of your burdens and that my "leaving the nest" could help alleviate those by +1.) Also, since I am not able to post in Fizzy Bubbles at BMG (for some reason), and since I don't wish to sign up at Serebii, and since the Twilight Zone is (afaik) closed to new members *AND* threatens to kill off one's creatures O_o ... I'm sort of without a home. So ... I'll try to figure something out. ^_^; (If the TR is not closed, then curses to whoever told me it was. ) Cyrus's heavily-updated Registration Post

Don't blame you for not wanting to join Serebii *shot* (server is only up for a few hours a day), but the reason you're unable to post in BMG's FB is because you need to join the FB Usergroup. Go to your User CP > Group Memberships > Fizzy Bubbles > and take it from there. We'll keep an eye out for your usergroup application and approve it once it's there. As far as zones go, UPN's Twilight Realm was capped because it has more members than the other two zones so we were giving priority to those members who only have accounts here. Not everyone signs up to all three branches. Since you're not intending to join the Serebii branch you can choose between the TR and BMG's Cascadia. It's up to you which you'd prefer. Quote:
You've stated that Saturn "jumped" into the air before "following" up with a surprise Pound from the back. This alone is classed as self updating because you've clearly not considered the fact that Psyduck may do something to hinder the success of the first attack, let alone the second. Keep in mind that as an updator, I control Psyduck. You order an attack and then I RNG to see whether the attack is successful or not. If it is, you get your way. If it's not, then I have to ensure Psyduck does something to cause your attack to fail followed by another RNG to determine how much damage Psyduck will do when it retaliates (slightly more involved, but that's the basic gist). If the second scenario is the case then Treecko could very well end up face first in the sand with Psyduck dancing on his back (unlikely, but I hope you see what I'm trying to say). If that happens, there's no way Treecko can follow up with his "surprise Pound from the back" because you're assuming the first attack has worked when it hasn't. I know it's extraordinarily difficult to reply to an update when your Pokémon is Lv.5 and has no training whatsoever, but it's also very hard to update those who have low levelled Pokémon for the very same reason. I'm just as restricted by you here which is where an updators creativity comes into play. The Arcane Realm is definitely the most challenging zone you'll be faced with in FB because you're a beginner and are severely restricted by your Pokémon's current moveset. I'm not going hard on you now because I take any pleasure in it, I'm doing it to help you improve despite how you may feel about it, or me, as a result. If you want to take some time out to level Treecko up in Daycare, or to give him a little training in the Move Tutor or Training Centre, then by all means do that. I don't mind in the slightest if it will help you with your replies. Obviously you can't reply to an update while he's in a shop but I'm not going anywhere so when you're ready to come back we'll pick up where we've left off. If you'd rather continue now that's also fine, but please read over some of the other replies in this zone to help give you some strategic ideas. You also have a fair few friends in FB which is another reason I'm surprised it's come to this. I really would have thought you'd received a lot more help than you have which is rather disappointing. I've told you before to PM me if you need help so please take me up on the offer if you need it. I'll help you via PM. We can send updates and replies back and forth until you have the idea and then you can begin replying here again. I've done it many times in the past when we've had an influx of new members so it's not like you'll be the first. Just let me know if you need help - that's what I'm here for. Whether you decide to take some time to train, or to continue now, can you please reply to that same update again when you're ready? Don't edit, just post another reply.

The Arcane Realm - FB Training Zone
The FB Training Zone Unlike other Fizzy Bubbles zones, this zone has been created for the sole purpose of introducing new members to RPing FB Style before venturing into current zones. It gives you a chance to familiarise yourselves with how we work and to experiment and expand upon your RPing skills before moving on. While the updates I provide here will be far from top quality due to time restraints, they will still provide enough information for you to formulate a decent response and to RP to your highest standard. While updates won't be top-notch, your replies should be as whether or not you're given the ok to leave this zone behind and enter regular zones will depend upon how you reply. You should always be striving to give your replies everything you can as that is what is expected in all FB Zones. Please remember that while FB has Gyms, Contest Halls, Bases, the Arcade, and various other activities as well as Time Out to help pass the time between updates, our primary purpose is role playing and while we don't always expect lengthy replies, we do expect a reasonable degree of quality. Replies don't have to be long to be good as some people are mistakenly inclined to believe. Rules - Please reply using Size 1 font. - No less than four (4) lines when replying, and by four lines I mean four complete lines of text. Not three or four words before hitting the enter key and writing another three or four words. Decent and articulate sentences are a must. - No chat speak. No abbreviations. No icons/smilies. Type properly or I'll ignore your post. - Please proofread posts. It's not only a great way to check for errors, it's also an excellent chance to see if you can expand upon/improve your reply before submitting. - ALWAYS quote your update by using the quote button in the bottom right-hand corner of the post. If you c/p and add Quote tags, your post will be ignored. Also, don't quote the entire post, only the update that has been written for you. - When using attacks for battle, please state clearly what you are ordering your Pokémon to do, and order no more than three attacks (offensive or defensive) per round of battle. - Never take it upon yourself to encounter or capture a Pokémon. The Pokémon you encounter is entirely up to the discretion of your updator. If you've read through the Updates & Replies Thread you will find that there are several reasons for this rule being in place. - When in a battle situation, never, ever try to control the moves or reactions of your opponent Pokémon. It's my job to give you an adventure, it's your job to overcome any obstacles I put in your path. Be sure to give clear and precise instructions for the moves you want your Pokémon to use, but don't ever try to control the Pokémon you are battling. I'm hoping I'll never have to PM anyone about editing their reply because they've posted incorrectly. It's embarassing for you, and uncomfortable for me. - If your Pokémon has a nickname please don't expect me to know it straight off the bat. After a while I do become familiar with the teams of people I update but when you're new to me I'd appreciate it if you would refer to the Pokémon you have, not call them by name. For example, somebody says, "Blaze use Ember!" Ummm, who/what is Blaze? I know it's a Fire Type, but what is it? A Torchic, Charmander, Houndour??? I won't know unless you tell me. - I do ask that you keep a profile of your FB team in your signature which includes your Pokémon, their levels and genders. I do however understand that not everyone wants to do this so if you could, at the very least, post a link to your registration post I'd appreciate it greatly. If you do neither and I need some information about your Pokémon, there's a strong likelihood you'll be skipped. And lastly, I'm not expecting everyone to start off perfectly here. Mistakes are expected and I'm more than happy to offer pointers/advice when asked for it, as are many FB members. I'm lenient to a point, but if you've been informed about something that has been done wrong and continue to ignore the advice given to correct it, then you will be ignored. End of story. Now that formalities are out of the way, how about we get down to business? Below are a list of areas you may enter (only one area at a time), so all you need to do is decide where you would like to travel before making your introductory post. The Arcane Realm Forest of Adventure (Please reply in LimeGreen) According to legend, no trainer can enter this enchanted forest without an adventure befalling them. Mediville (Please reply in LemonChiffon) This well-populated village and its surrounding farmlands contain many low-levelled wild Pokémon suitable for beginning trainers to practice against. Levels are only gained by Pokémon under level 10. The Graveyard (Please reply in Silver) A haunting graveyard where the spirits of Pokémon have been put to rest. At night a thick fog hangs in the air while the restless spirits of those Pokémon with unfinished business rise from the grave, looking for closure that often never comes. Desert of Illusion (Please reply in DarkOrange) A vast desert, filled with all kinds of Pokémon. It is rumored that two special villages can be found here, but is this fantasy or reality? Ancient Tomb (Please reply in Gold) An ancient maze supposedly containing the tombs of long-departed kings which is filled with treasure and danger. You will not be able to leave until you find an escape rope and you can't bring one with you. The Ocean of Mystery (Please reply in DeepSkyBlue) An ocean with many mysteries that have yet to be solved. Only those with Water Type Pokémon can travel these seas, as whenever a ship has set sail, they have never again been seen. What has happened to these ships, their crew and passengers, is anyone's guess, but few are willing to take their chances by travelling out by boat. Silverton Ranges (Please reply in LightSteelBlue) A snow-capped mountain range where many wild Pokémon reside. Many old mines litter the mountainside from the days when silver was heavily mined, but due to the often below zero temperatures, they were eventually abandoned. Rumor has it however, that there are still many valuable ores hidden within the mountains. |

Ocean of Mystery - Please reply in deepskyblue
Coordinator: With Psyduck caught up in Saturn's Leer, you see now to be the perfect opportunity to stop the little duck from getting away.

This is going to be Jamil's first experience of training his Zubat, his worthy companion. He has never been able to train Zubat in his own land as there are not much lower leveled pokemon. By some expert's suggestion he headed Mediville to train Zubat and also gain knowledge about various pokemons and ofcourse add the wild pokemons' record in his Pokedex. Filling the Pokedex is one of Jamil's prime target throughout his journey, plus he is also looking forward to capture some rare pokemons and show them off to his friends and family. Thinking various things including plans to capture pokemons Jamil didn't notice that he had neared Mediville. Prepared for everything Jamil slowly walks into the village hoping for positive consequences. |

Mediville - Please reply in lemonchiffon
Jamil: Walking along the main street of the quaint little farming village of Mediville, you're pleasantly surprised by just how old this town appears to be. Its cobblestone streets and old-style shops are a welcome change to the modern design of most towns and cities you're familiar with, so you take your time to see the sights it has to offer. You're soon distracted though, when you hear some loud hissing and screeching from nearby and turn to look in the direction from which it's coming. Noticing an angry Electrike at the bottom of an old oak tree standing in the middle of the town square, you watch while it barks threateningly at a Glameow who is sitting on a high branch, hissing and meowing vehemently at the furious pup. While you watch, Electrike shoots out a Thunder Wave, the tiny tendrils of electricity striking the frightened kitty and causing its muscles to seize up. Glameow falls the the ground, landing with a rather painful sounding thud, completely at the mercy of Electrike who now appears ready to shred the little blue kitten to pieces...

Quite suddenly he heard a loud hissing an angry cat usually makes. He turned around to witness a furious Electrike barking angrily at a Glameow and the cat that was sitting with quite a distance from the dog on a tree, meowed loudly, probably telling the green dog to leave. "The usual canine-feline hostility," thought Jamil rather unsurprised and was about to take out is Pokedex, when the Electrike charged up electricity in it's fur and shot a wave of electrons to the curly tailed cat. It instantly shook a bit then froze and fall on the ground. Jamil shocked with such beastly behaviour and hoped he was not too late, he silently called his Zubat to help the overpowered cat. The bat came out of the pokeball and faced Jamil. "Alright Zubat, sneak behind the Electrike and use Supersonic to distract it and keep it away from Glameow. Whatever you do don't touch the Electrike and stay off it's Thunder Wave. I will try to take Glameow out from the situation. Okay?," Jamil said swiftly. Zubat looked a bit confused from the elaborated plan Jamil said but still nodded. Thoughts raced in Jamil's mind as Zubat moved (Question: If I buy pokeballs now can I use them in this adventure?) |

Mediville - Please reply in lemonchiffon
Jamil: Yes, you can use a Pokéball here. Initially shrugging off the encounter between Electrike and Glameow as being the usual canine/feline hostility, you don't think too much of it until Electrike's Thunder Wave sends Glameow hurtling toward the ground like a brick. Shocked by the brutality of the situation you're not about to leave Glameow at Electrike's mercy when it's plain as day Glameow is in no position to defend itself, and immediately release Zubat, instructing him to cause a diversion while you help Glameow. Understanding what is needed of him, Zubat obediently opens his mouth wide and releases a Supersonic, the high pitched noise causing even Glameow to meow loudly as it invades the senses of both Pokémon. Electrike yelps, the pain in its ears making it wish it could dig a hole and bury its head in it to escape the earsplitting sensory invasion. With Electrike utterly distracted, you quickly move in and gently lift the paralyzed Glameow from the ground, covering its ears to help muffle the sound of Zubat's Supersonic, before turning and watching while Electrike attempts to take Zubat down with its Thunder Wave. Luckily Electrike appears too confused to know which direction the sound is coming from, its attack shooting off into the distance and hitting a shop wall instead...

Jamil didn't know what to do, certainly the best thing would be to take it to a hospital he thought. Jamil turned back and saw the disoriented Electrike shoot a Thunder Wave targeting Zubat though fortunately it didn't even get close. Thinking it might be dangerous to stay near the dog any longer Jamil called back Zubat and ran towards the street. He helplessly looked around to find a hospital or someone who might assist. |
