Forest of Mystery – Please reply in limegreen

Balmund ~ The Forest of Mystery didn’t appear to live up to its name from the outside and the legend of adventure surrounding it seemed less likely but here you were, ready to test the theories and create a little excitement of your own. It was impressive for a forest, very expansive stretching as far as you could see each way and every tree seemed to stand 40 metres tall looming over you, almost chastising you for having doubts. Whether the legends were true or false you weren’t one to sit around and wait for adventure to come to you, ‘life is what you make of it’ and should you go looking for adventure it was sure to want to find you. Your interests weren’t all trainer based, no, almost as deep as the forest itself you could wait to explore the native vegetation and plant life; it was sure to be different to anything you had seen before. All in all it had potential and if you could discover a new medical mystery along the way you were sure to make your family proud.

A hissing sounded from your partner in this adventure, the Seviper making you aware of her impatience and boredom of just standing staring at some trees. Stroking her head eliciting soft satisfied hisses you appologise for daydreaming and Orchrist was ready to forgive you when you make a move towards something of interest. Gearing up to start your journey and Orchrist grinning at the thought of a promised snack you enter the forest feeling the shade of the trees envelop you and the light. Orchrist kept a steady slithering pace in front of you her reptile eyes scanning the surrounding undergrowth for a potential meal … or threat … but mainly food! Meanwhile you were otherwise occupied with the fabulous shrubbery and flora all around you wondering whether to gather any samples to take back home with you one day. You couldn’t yourself and ended up stopping at every interesting plant bending down to be level and examine it. Orchrist began to become wary of your actions and having to drag you away from every single plantlife and she slithers off even further ahead.

Unbeknownst to you Orchrist had put quite some distance between you and slithers off happily knowing you would eventually catch up only to show her what you had collected. She suddenly drops to the ground as she spots something tasty up ahead, a Pidgey was sat in a clearing all alone and unaware of her presence. Sithering stealthily forward she eyes up her pray before striking with lightning reflexes but before she could reach the bird she suddenly came to a stop eyes drooping as she hits the ground asleep.

You stand up from an exotic purple/green flower and turn to face Orchrist only to see her absent. In a panic you drop the flowers and run up ahead yelling her name waiting to hear a response and when you get none you really panic. What could have possibly have happened to her?

Orchrist was sleeping soundly as the Pidgey stared at her blinking a little confused. It called out and the sound of wings flapping filled the forest along with the rustling of bushes as more Pokemon began to emerge.

You were oblivious to the danger Orchirst was in, but if you didn’t hurry you could very well lose your partner, and you’d only been here an hour!

Mediville – Please reply in lemonchiffon

Salamencia ~ Couldn’t see any mistakes so don’t worry, its all going to be good practice for you all ^-^

You were just starting out on your journey and stood before you was the setting for your first adventure. Mediville stood stretched before you, a quaint little village that bore promises of warm greetings and friendly villagers. Perhaps not the first place one would think to travel to for an adventure but there were mysteries to every place, and perhaps you could discover one here! Stopping on the cobbled path you throw a read and white sphere down to the ground watching as it bounced harmlessly off the hard surface before snapping open. A small echidna blinked as his eyes adjusted to the light taking in his new surroundings before gazing up at you. With the question of adventure in the air he nodded his consent to begin and the two of you walked onwards. You hadn’t been walking for long when a thought entered your mind, what if the Cyndaquil’s presence provided concern to the villagers, they may not be used to such a Pokemon. So with an appogetic look you return Cyndaquil to his ball and continue on alone.

Your thoughts drifted to home and how very different it was from this place. There was a calming feeling about Mediville, perhaps it was the enchanting scenery, the warm autumn day or the fresh air but you had never felt better. A thrill of excitement lay beneath the surface at the thought of adventure but outwards you look cool and collected as you entered the village, one of the many inhabitants bidding you welcome as you pass the entrance.

The mood seemed infectious as the entire village was full of warm smiles and greetings some beckoning you over to their shops and café’s wanting to shop you their wares and take the weight off your feet and enjoy lunch. They were obviously very used to travellers and especially as a lot of shops past the entrance catered to Pokemon trainers with items galore that could serve your travels; they even had a Pokemon Centre next to a G.P’s offices. Suddenly Cyndaquil appeared before you feet grinning cheekily up at you and you blink in confusion, hadn’t you returned him to his ball? He bounces up and down and proceeds to dance in intricate routine that was quite entertaining, had he always been able to do that? Pulling out his Pokeball out you stare at it for a moment wondering how he managed to break the bonds without you noticing before pointing it at the echidna hoping to return him. As you do the ball snaps open and in repeat of earlier Cyndaquil emerged on the cobbled ground staring at his reflection with as much confusion as you. Cyndaquil finishes its dance before bowing to you both. Cyndaquil looks up at you for answers partly wondering if he had been called to battle when you hear yelling from up ahead.

“Hey, hey you don’t let that Cyndaquil run away please!” Looking up you see a boy in his early teens running towards you dressed rather peculiarly. He stops before you nearly collapsing, panting hard. He looks up and you can see that he was attired in a black one piece suit with flames decorating it in orange and red. His blonde hair was pulled back into a scruffy ponytail low on his neck and he burst into a big smile.

“Hey, thank you for not letting Spitfire run away, he’s been giving me the run around all day and he knows we’ve got a show to practice for too!” He says shaking your hand vigorously.

“Spitfire, I know you like to entertain people but we’ve got practice, ringmaster’s already going out of his mind.” Spitfire as the Cyndaquil was known hung his head dragging his feet over to his trainer who, taking no chances, picked him up and began to walk away.

“Oh,” he says turning around and pulling something out of a concealed pocket, “Here take this as thanks,” he says handing you a white ticket that said “Tamed Chaos Circus” and “doors open at 4pm” upon it. “We’ve got a really good circus show, its on this afternoon, why don’t you come along and watch us perform, its sign posted throughout the village” he says waving to you as he runs off to practice his act. A circus could be a bit of fun and who knows what you could see performing there.

Ocean of Mystery – Please reply in deepskyblue

AiedialEclipsed ~ There is nothing wrong with anything you wrote, the purpose of these updates is to let you get experience in roleplay and have fun ^-^

As the ocean waves lapped against the golden sands you realise how far away from home you were. Although there were many beaches in Sinnoh this one felt so very different. Perhaps it was the thought of travel and adventure that made the ocean seem to sparkle brighter and the winds feel cooler on your skin but this place felt like paradise. A pang of sadness filled your heart as you thought of home and your father left on his own but his words of encouragement rang through your mind and a smile graces your lips. He wanted you to explore the world and feeling guilty about it would only disappoint you both. Suddenly your remember the reason you came here, your partner on this journey. Plucking a Pokeball from your belt and kissing it tenderly you release the Pokemon inside. In a flash of light your Clamperl emerged sending splashes of water in her wake. Gemma, as she was named, smiled up at you and looked to be very at home surrounded by the water. Asking her if she was ready for adventure you receive a joyful Water Gun that cascades over you. Laughing it off you wring the water out of your clothes and begin to walk along the beach.

It didn’t take long for the bright sunshine to dry your wet clothing and you find yourselves walking along in amicable silence. Gemma hopped along as best as a bi-valve Pokemon can splashing happily in the water. Staring at the ocean you being to wonder if Gemma could take you out to explore its mysteries, would it be safe? Wingull floated over the surface of the water searching for fish to eat as you become lost in your thoughts. There wasn’t much on shore to see or do so that left the ocean and as you begin to plan the best ways to traverse it safely you hear Gemma call you. Looking down you see her no longer by your side but up ahead bouncing up and down whilst looking at something further up the shore. Walking up to meet her you spot what she spotted, a small wooden shack just off the beach. Grinning down at her for her find you both rush over to the lone building slowing as you reach it. It had a small porch with a hammock upon it. The door was slightly ajar allowing you to peer inside. It was cosy looking living area with sofa’s, an unlit fire, coffee table and wooden cupboards.

“Can I help you?” You hear from behind you making you nearly jump out of your skin. Gemma leaps before you upon seeing your startled manner ready to protect you if necessary. You turn to see a boy only a couple of years older than you with a coy smile on his face, dressed in board shorts, tank top and sandals.

“You were looking at my home, was there something that interested you here?” he asks his smile not leaving his lips as he waits for an answer.

Thanks for the kind welcome, and for the great first update. I hope this response was good enough.

As Sal passed through Mediville, he noticed how friendly and happy the locals were, some even stopping to greet him. Shops decorated the street, with the shopkeepers calling him over to buy their goods. It was clear that they were used to travellers passing through their village. As he looked around, Sal noticed that a lot of the shops sold essentials for travelling Pokemon trainers, such as food, Potions and Pokeballs. He knew he would need to stock up, so he stopped and decided to make a plan on where he would go first.

While he was thinking, a Cyndaquil appeared by his side, smiling at him. Sal was surprised, he thought Cyndaquil was inside his Pokeball. The Pokemon started dancing, which shocked Sal even more. He had never seen his Cyndaquil dance before. Sal pulled out Cyndaquil's Pokeball, staring at it for a second, still wondering how he had got out. As he tried to call the Cyndaquil back into the ball, it opened, and released another Cyndaquil, who looked at the dancer, before looking up at Sal, clearly confused. Meanwhile, the other Cyndaquil had just finished its dance, when Sal heard a voice calling towards him.

“Hey, hey you don’t let that Cyndaquil run away please!” The voice belonged to a boy, wearing a strange outfit. The boy ran towards Sal, almost collapsing as he stopped. He had clearly been running after the Cyndaquil for a while. Now that Sal could get a good look at the boy, he noticed that he was a young teenager, whose blonde hair was tied into a ponytail. He was wearing a black suit decorated with orange and red flames. Sal wondered if this boy was some sort of street performer.

“Hey, thank you for not letting Spitfire run away, he’s been giving me the run around all day and he knows we’ve got a show to practice for too!” He said, smiling, and shaking Sal's hand in an almost rough manner. Sal tried to ask the boy who he was, but he just turned to the dancing Cyndaquil. “Spitfire, I know you like to entertain people but we’ve got practice, ringmaster’s already going out of his mind.”

The dancing Cyndaquil, clearly the "Spitfire" the boy was addressing, reluctantly walked over to him. The kid then picked him up, and started walking away.

"Oh." He turned back to Sal, pulling something out of a pocket. “Here take this as thanks,” he said as he handed Sal a white slip of paper. It read "Tamed Chaos Circus. Doors open at 4pm." "We've got a really good circus show, it's on this afternoon, why don’t you come along and watch us perform, its sign posted throughout the village”, he said as he ran off, with Spitfire still in his grip.

"A circus? That could be fun, I haven't been to one in a while. Cyndaquil, you up for it?" Cyndaquil looked up, still clearly confused by everything. It gave a light "Quil" as its response, and nodded.

Realising he didn't know where this circus was, he decided to ask the locals for directions. So he headed for the Pokemon Center, where he was sure someone would be able to tell him.

“You were looking at my home, was there something that interested you here?” he asks his smile not leaving his lips as he waits for an answer.
She continues walking out along the beach, thinking pensive thoughts, of home, but doesn't dwell on them long as she thinks of the adventure that would be so soon to come. As the sun's gentle and warm embracing rays streamed through the air, and dried out her clothes, it reflected against the sand making it seem as if fine golden dust. Gemma hopped along beside her with steady little plops and plomps as the water splashed, the silence that pervaded gave light to the ocean stretching out beside them. Could Gemma possibly carry me out into the deep blue abysmal depths to fully grasp its mysteries that so allude me here on the shore? she thought trying to fill the silence with these thoughts. If only Icy was a Sealeo, then we definitely could! Shaking as if awakening from a deep reverie, she looked back out at the ocean, seeing Wingull gently floating over the wide expanse looking for a tasty morsel trying to fill up its tiny belly. Returning to thoughts of traversing the waters, Anna hers a faint Claaaammperrrl! Looking around frantically for her, Anna looks up ahead to see her bouncing up and down, walking up to her, Anna notices a little brown splotch on the horizon.

Looking down at Gemma with a glittering smile praising her for her discovery, you both run... or hop through the shallow water to find the brown patch become a cute little shack just on the outskirts of the water. It was a quaint, picturesque scene with a porch and hammock hanging lazily down from the rafters. Looking in through the cracked door she sees little living area with a sofa, unlit fire, coffee table, and a few wooden cupboards.

“Can I help you?” a strange voice speaks from behind you. Chill bumps seep up along her spine, before she near about jumps out of her skin. Gemma seeing my startled appearance jumps around fully alert, ready to attack if need be. A young man that looks a few years Anna's superior, has a coy smile and looks like he was just enjoying a quick walk or a catnap in his board shorts, tanktop, and sandals.

“You were looking at my home, was there something that interested you here?” his smile never leaving his lips. Her unease slowly melts away, being replaced by an awkwardness.

"Well, I'm not quite sure. You see I was thinking about going out to sea with my Clamperl, when she found your home. I'm not quite sure what you could help with actually unless you know where I could find a DeepSea Scale, as I desperately want Gemma to evolve into a Gorebyss! Well, look at me, its not all about me, Gemma wants to too, don't you girl?"

Gemma replied with a "Claaaammmpeerrl!" before hopping up and down enthusiastically.

"Yes, you see we are the best of friends, and I kinda want to get some experience in with my newest Pokemon, Icy! Oh goodness where are my manners?" Anna had been babbling on continuously not letting the boy get a word in. "My name is Anna Saucier, and this is my partner Gemma and my newest Pokemon Icy!" she said before grabbing a Poke Ball from her belt and tossing it out gently. One flurry of white light later, a small seal-like but oddly ball-shaped creature took form, she gave a happy cry of "Sssphheaaal!" Anna held out her hand, looking quite odd as the boy just watched with that coy smile.

[[OOC: Sorry, if I wasn't allowed to use any other Pokemon than my starter. ^.^;; Also, Arc, great first update, I can tell right now that I'm going to love this adventure! Also, I know that 'AiedailEclipsed' is a mouthful and somewhat difficult to type so you can just use Aie~]]

You were oblivious to the danger Orchirst was in, but if you didn’t hurry you could very well lose your partner, and you’d only been here an hour!
Balmund was most certainly impressed once he stepped into the forest. The trees towered above him so high, and them clustered so close to each other, that natural daylight could barely filter through them. What excited him the most however, was the abundant and diverse flora around him. There were so many new specimens around him, Balmund had no idea where to even start. A silly grin flashed accross his face as he inspected each and every single one of them, wondering just what possible properties and applications they could have. It was a while since he felt so excited about something. He literally felt like a kid at a candy shop, excited and focused on all the heavenly goods and oblivious to anything else.

Orchrist naturally could not sympathize with Balmund's current obsession. In fact, she couldn't help but feel a bit annoyed by this. Having to drag Balmund around each time he'd come to a stop, only to check a miserable flower, clump of grass, or even the ever random root. The premise of a delicious snack did keep her spirits high though, as she soon decided to focus solely on scanning the area for food... or perhaps any potential threat, but mostly food. Ever increasing the distance between herself and her trainer, Orchrist soon found a small Pidgey sitting in a clearing all alone and unaware of her prescence. Bearing a huge grin, the Seviper stealthily slithered towards her helpless prey, all while heavily salivating at the thought of the glorious meal she was about to have. Just as she nears her victim, Orchrist launches a lightning fast strike but suddenly comes to a stop just inches away before reaching her mark, her eyes drooping as she falls asleep.

About at the same time, Balmund stands up, holding an exotic purple/green flower while looking for his partner. "Orchrist? You there m'dear?" he asked out loud, but without avail. He suddenly felt a chill run down his spine as he, realizing his partner was nowhere to be seen, drops his flowers in panic as he runs up ahead, yelling his Seviper's name. "Orchrist! Orchrist, where are you? Orchrist! Urgh... dammit all!" The panic Balmund had felt suddenly intensified. This twasn't the first time Orchrist had wandered off on her own in search of food, and nothing bad ever really came out of doing so in the past. But this was different. This was the first time the both of them had set foot on this area and they didn't know of the dangers that layed within. The fact that Orchrist didn't answer his constant calls only made things worse. Balmund could feel something was just terribly wrong about all this and he could only think of closing the distance between them as soon as possible. He couldn't just rush randomly in whatever direction seemed appropriate however, he had to think things through. Kneeling, Balmund inspected the ground in search of anything that may lead him nearer to his dear pokemon. Because of their size and the locomotive system they use, Sevipers leave rather clear markings on the floor as they slither, and it wasn't too hard for Balmund to find Orchrist's "footprint". At the same time, Balmund could listen to the sudden loud flapping and rustling sounds that filled the forest. As he strains to hear another round of chirping, he notices it comes off from the same direction from which the markings pointed towards: his right. Things were starting to add up for Balmund, as he followed the trail in haste. Time was precious and he needed to be sure his most prized pokemon was safe and sound.

Meanwhile, a Pidgeotto exchanges looks with a Parasect before grasping Orchrist's tail and dragging her away. Who knew what would be of her fate? If only Balmund could get there in time.

OoC: I kinda feel I made a major screwup. I'm not sure to which extent I'm able to RP my own pokemon's actions. If I did something wrong, please let me know. Also, thanks for your patience. Sorry if I had to make you wait too long.

Forest of Mystery – Please reply in limegreen

Balmund ~ You can RP your Pokemon’s actions to a degree where it doesn’t become self-updating (i.e you can have Orchrist go and examine the forest but can’t have her encounter any wild Pokemon unless I’ve stated that they’re there). There’s nothing wrong with what you’ve written.

Your first in to the Forest of Mystery was looking to be more exciting than you first imagined, and it wasn’t the kind of excitement you wanted. You had only been walking through the thick and vivid undergrowth when Orchrist had gone off on her own hunting for a tasty snack and where had it gotten her? Being dragged off by wild Pidegotto and Parasect whilst you frantically began the search for her, yes this was an adventure alright! Pushing through the thick bushes you call out to her hoping to hear a hiss or see her slender form slither over to you but encounter neither of these. You had only heard the call of wild Pokemon and following this only hoped that Orchrist was safe and getting herself a meal. Pushing past the large overbearing trees you begin to worry even more, you had travelled quite a way off the beaten track you were following and still no sight of your Seviper. You knew she could take care of herself but who was to know what other people or Pokemon wandered this forest, she could have been snake-napped or attacked by a wild Ursaing and killed. Feeling your heart beat faster and the misting of tears in your eyes as your mind works overtime you mentally beg for her safety.

Suddenly you hear a soft hissing coming from your left and you stop hoping to hear it again. When the hiss sounds once more you call out to Orchrist and run off in the new direction feeling more positive than before. Bursting through the thick shrubbery you come to a stop and feel a new panic, this was not Orchrist! No sat in a small clearing was an Ekans with a mournful look in its eye as it stares down at the remains of something not long dead. It notices your presence and begins to hiss dangerously shaking its tail to and fro warning you not to come near, like you were thinking anything of the sort. Suddenly the singular hiss is replaced by several more and looking around you see more Ekans begin to emerge from the bushes, their reptilian yellow eyes locked on your body … now you were panicking!

Meanwhile Orchrist opened her eyes, her vision blurred by whatever powder was in the grass she slithered through. Blinking through the drug induced haze that clouded her head she looked around to see the ground several metres below her. Now fully awake and quite annoyed at her predicament she tilts back enough to see that she’s firmly vined to a thick tree unspide down. Shaking her body she sighs as she realises that she’s not going anywhere at the moment. As she hangs there she hears a rustling from above and tilts up to see a Pidgeotto in the branches of her tree and hisses angrily knowing that the bird had something to do with her predicament. Several more noises follow, the patter of feet moving along the ground and she looks down to see several Paras and a Parasect scuttling towars her observing her with cold eyes. She hisses at them too demanding to know what they were playing at and why she was tied to a tree. Several Pidgey’s fly and land on the branch next to their evolution, one of them was the prey in the trap to ensnare Orchrist but somehow, by the look in the birds eye she knew she was not what they were expecting.

What are you doing in our Forest Seviper? This is far from your home and it is unwise to come here searching for food,’ Pidgeotto asks in its own language set to interrogating their new prisoner.

Meanwhile surrounded by Ekans you wished Orchrist was with you as they hiss amongst themselves, low whispers and you wonder if they were deciding which one of them got to eat you. They suddenly stop whispering and stare at you with cautious eyes and you hope that the deadly silence would end soon. The first Ekans you saw hisses lowly and looks around as the others nod. You feel a shove at the back of your legs and look down to see one of the snakes butting you forward pushing through the forest and it was then you noticed that all the snakes were slithering off in that direction. You has the sinking feeling as you were led through the forest that you may never see your partner again, both of you unaware of the other’s plight.

After what felt like an hour of walking on unsteady terrain and across a river you arrive at a large clearing with a stone shrine in the center, a figure of a large snake upon it. Sat before it swaying to and fro was an Arbok that seemed to be in a trance and it soon stood stock still when it heard the Ekans approaching. It spun around hissing a greeting before noticing you and rose up flashing its hood making you shake a little in fear. It quickly slithers over to you and then slowly around you as if sizing you up and the fear of being eaten returns ten fold. Arbok turns to the first Ekans you saw and hisses as the snake looks down at the ground and hisses softly back in a submissive manner. Arboks stops in front of your face and hisses long and slow as if talking to a child and you wished right ten Orchrist was with you at least to translate. You could only guess it wanted to know what you were doing in the forest and if you didn’t answer the results could be deadly.

Mediville – Please reply in lemonchiffon

Salamencia ~ You had encountered your first friendly face in Mediville and it made you feel more at ease for being here. The boy, dressed in fire patterned all-in-one suit has left you with a ticket for the travelling circus as a gesture of thanks for stopping his Cyndaquil from running off any further. You watched the pair run off down the street and turn a corner as your own Cyndaquil stared at you wanting an explanation. You look at the ticket in your hand and down at the little echidna thinking of how fun a circus would be to watch and for free too! You ask your Pokemon if he was interested and he responded in the affirmative still a little muddled by the events that had transpired. The answer was good enough for you so you start to walk in the direction the boy had ran hoping that it was well signposted or at least you could find someone who could given you directions.

After a few minutes walk, following some of the hanging signs placed in the streets just for these performances you reach the town square and find it abuzz with activity. Several towns people were gathered going about their daily routine whilst some people stood out from the crowd, trainers like you talking amongst themselves showing off their Pokemon and even battling. Distracted by sights and sounds you accidentally bump into someone and nearly fall over. You turn to apologise and see that it was a man in his 40’s looking disdainfully down at you, his cold grey eyes making you shudder. He straightened his long overcoat and gives a sound of displeasure.

“You should watch where you’re walking boy, it maybe busy here but that’s no excuse to be rude,” he says slowly making you shudder as Cyndaquil hides behind your leg also unnerved by the creepy man. As if to add to the aura a small yellow and brown Pokemon emerged from behind his legs, a Drowzee that grinned maliciously at you and wiggles its fingers as of trying to hypnotise you. Backing away nearly treading on Cyndaquil who remains hidden behind you see the man’s gaze darken.

“You be careful now boy, you wouldn’t want any more accidents to occur,” and with those mencing words he turns around his long coat billowing behind him as she strides away his Drowzee obediently following him. A horrid feeling has surrounded you whilst in his presence and you instantly felt better knowing that he was no longer near you, even with the threat hanging in the air. You were just about to walk out of the square following yet another sign for the circus when you nearly bump into someone else, this time a girl your age who steps in front of you to block your way.

“Hey, do you want to battle?” she says straight to the point. She sends out a Pikachu from her Pokeball and stands with hands on hips. “There’s plenty of room over there,” she says pointing to a small area of the square that was currently empty. “So what do you say?” she says tapping her foot impatiently. You could battle this girl but looking up at the large clock tower you could see that the show was going to start very shortly, in 15 minutes to be exact and you couldn’t be certain how much farther away it was. It would be a good opportunity to shut this annoying girl up but the circus boy had seemed so keen to have you watch him perform, and he had given you a free ticket after all. As you ponder over the decision another thought entered your head, there were less friendly faces here than you thought!

Ocean of Mystery – Please reply in deepskyblue

AiedailEclipsed ~ You can use Pokemon other than you starter in this adventure so don’t panic.

You were startled at the sight of the teenager behind you who seemed more curious that shocked to see you. His eyes seemed to sparkle with mirth even at the sight of a potential burglar; perhaps you just looked to kind to be such. Gemma was on the defensive ready to protect you even if you had been the ones trespassing; you weren’t to know anyone lived along this beach. At his relaxed stance and warm smile you feel your defences dropping and an awkward silence fils the air as he waits for an answer. You start to reply not quite sure why you were staring at his home, perhaps it was because it was the only thing of interest along this beach. Soon though you begin to spill out the real reason that you came to the Ocean of Mystery and ask him if he knew where to find a Deep Sea Scale hoping one to day to evolve Gemma into a Gorebyss. Gemma hops up and down enthusiastically at the thought of becoming stronger, sleeker, even more beautiful and giggles happily all thoughts of attacking the stranger gone. You spill your heart out, expressing your love for your Pokemon even sending out your Spheal who rolls around slaping her fins together at the new found freedom.

The teen chuckles quite amused by your verbal diarrhoea and plain excitement at being with your Pokemon.

“I can see you like Water Pokemon and you have two pretty ones right there,” he says causing identical blushes to run across Gemma’s and Icy’s faces. “You came to the best place to explore with water Pokemon too; this sea is amazing once you get out on it.” He finishes smiling at you again.

“I’m afraid that I can’t help you on your search for a Deep Sea Scale, I’ve been here a while an have not come across one yet, they’re rare items you’d have to search a long time to find one without the right equipment.” You frown at that new feeling a little down. At seeing your no longer happy expression he places a hand on your shoulder.

“You said you wanted to go out into the sea … that I can help you with. Wait here,” he says jogging off along the beach and around a corner hidden by a Cliffside. You can vaguely hear a rumbling noise before you spot a white speedboat slowly make its wait towards you. The teen stops the boat off shore and shout out down to you.

“I always enjoy boat trips so I bought this a while back so I could explore the sea more. We can go for a ride if you like. I have fresh food and drinks packed on here; I even have breathing equipment and apparatus that allows you to talk underwater if you wanted to battle any wild Pokemon. What do you say?

It would be a good opportunity to shut this annoying girl up but the circus boy had seemed so keen to have you watch him perform, and he had given you a free ticket after all. As you ponder over the decision another thought entered your head, there were less friendly faces here than you thought!
Sal began walking in the same direction that the young boy had gone, hoping that he would find someone to give him directions, or at least signposts clearly marking this circus out. As he was walking, his Cyndaquil still by his side, he thought back to the young boy’s kind and thankful nature, and wondered if all of the people in Mediville were like that. He was starting to feel at home in this new place already, and he smiled down towards his Cyndaquil, who smiled back.

Sal kept following the signs that were placed to advertise this circus, and eventually found the town square. The square was quite busy, with townspeople everywhere going about their daily businesses and talking amongst themselves. He even saw some trainers showing off their Pokemon to one another and battling. He considered stopping to watch a few, but remembered that he only came here to find the circus that he was looking for. Still, it was hard to not be distracted by the sights. As he walked forward, his gaze shifting from one place to another, he accidentally bumped into someone in front of him, and almost fell backward. As he looked up at the person he had walked into, he noticed it was a man that looked to be about 40, who was looking down at Sal scornfully. The man dusted down his overcoat and sighed in displeasure.

“You should watch where you’re walking boy, it maybe busy here but that’s no excuse to be rude,” he said coldly, as Sal began to shiver. His Cyndaquil hid behind his leg, clearly feeling the same way toward this man. A Drowzee appeared from behind this man, grinning maliciously at Sal and Cyndaquil, and waving its fingers as though it were trying to hypnotise them. Sal stepped backwards slowly, almost treading on Cyndaquil as he did so.

“You be careful now boy, you wouldn’t want any more accidents to occur,” the man said, looking at Sal with an even darker look on his face. He then turned around and walked away, his Drowzee following behind him loyally. Sal breathed a sigh of relief, glad that the man was leaving his sight slowly, even if he had disturbed him somewhat. He saw a sign to the circus, and quickly remembered that he was supposed to be going there. He started heading out of the square, when a girl walked in front of him, and he almost bumped into her.

“Hey, do you want to battle?” she said quickly. She pulled out a Pokeball, out of which came a Pikachu. The girl stood with her hands on her hips. Sal noticed that this girl seemed to be no older than him, and she seemed quite eager to battle him. “There’s plenty of room over there,” she said, pointing to a small, unoccupied part of the square. “So what do you say?” she said, tapping her foot impatiently. She was giving Sal almost no time to think, let alone react. He considered battling this girl, as it had been a while since he and Cyndaquil had battled. He looked up at the clock tower, and realised that it was already 3:45. He only had about 15 minutes to find the circus before the show started, and he didn’t know how far he still had to walk. The girl was irritating, but Sal had more pressing matters than shutting her up. The young performer that had given him his free ticket seemed like he really wanted Sal to come to the circus. He looked at the girl once more. This girl seems adamant… perhaps I should battle her… he thought to himself. He looked down at Cyndaquil, who seemed just as unsure as him. Sal suddenly realised that maybe the town wasn’t so friendly after all. He didn’t know what the circus show would be like, however Sal decided that the right thing to do would be to try and get there on time. He looked back up at the clock, and knew he didn’t have much time to stand here waiting.

“I’m sorry, miss, but I really have to be somewhere,” he started, trying to be as polite as he could. He pulled out the ticket from his pocket and showed it to her. “You see, I was given this ticket for free by a young boy, and I want to repay him by getting to this circus on time. So perhaps we could battle later?” he asked, hoping the girl would give it some thought.

After Anna's almost embarassing diarrhoea of the mouth, the young man chuckled at the sight of her being excited just for being near her Pokemon. Spheal continued rolling around the ground excited enough to roll right into the young man's legs and keeping going.

"I can see you like Water Pokemon and you have two pretty ones right there," he says fluently like the water out in the ocean. These words triggered a lighty rosy blush to rise up in the cheeks of both Icy and Gemma. "You came to the best [lace to explore with Water Pokemon too; this sea is amazing once you get out on it." He finished off his sentence by smiling up at Anna cutely. "I am afraid that I can't help you on your search for a Deep Sea Scale, I've been here a while and have not come across one yet, they're rare items you'd have to search a long time to find one without the right equipment. Anna frowns slightly, disheartned at the bad news, however, seeing her expression he places a hand on her shoulder.

"You said you wanted to go out into the sea ... that I can help you with. Wait here," he says before sprinting off along the beach and around a cliffside that jutted out into the sand. Looking a few seconds you see the crystal clear waters that seem to invite you out onto the water. A few seconds later, a faint rumbling noise that seems to grow louder and louder until you turn around towards the cliff side barrier where the sound seems to be emanating. Suddenly, a white speed boat bursts from around the corner steering around sending a wave of frothy water up into the air, before turning sharply and stopping near her. The boat gleams in a nice white sheen in the lovely sunlight, looking up into the boat you see the young boy.

"I always enjoy boat trips so I bought this a while back so I could explore the sea more. We can go for a ride if you like. I have fresh food and drinks packed on here; I even having breathing equipment and apparatus that allows you to talk underwater if you wanted to battle any wild Pokemon. What do you say?" he finished with a beaming smile, almost aiming to impress her.

"Well, I think that we could do that!" Anna said smiling up at the young man. "Return, Icy!" she said drawing out a Poke Ball and shooting a small red beam of light out of it that 'disengrated' the small seal and sucked her in. "Come on up Gemma," she said scooping up Gemma quickly, before looking around for a way up. "Say, how do you get on this thing? And I never caught your name actually! What is your name?" she said looking up at him smiling serenely at him, blushing slightly.

[[OOC: Gemma will be the only Pokemon used from now on just as a note.]]

You could only guess it wanted to know what you were doing in the forest and if you didn’t answer the results could be deadly.
Balmund was slowly but surely sinking into despair as time went on. Pushing past thick bushes and overbearing trees whilst calling her name, and yet, still no signs of his partner. He quickly lost the trail he had initially found, or thought he had, and had only the memory of the earlier pokemon calling to guide him in the right direction. Precious memories of the time they had spent toghether flashed through his mind as his heart beat intensified and his eyes filled themselves with the misting of tears. He thought of the day Orchrist was first born and of the day she captured her first prey on her own. He also thought of the numerous adventures they have had before. Surely this couldn't be the last one; it couldn't possibly end this way. Balmund could only hope for the best.

Suddenly, Balmund hears a soft hissing nearby. For a second, relief and joy filled Balmund's heart as he thought he had finally caught up to his partner. Hoping to hear it again, Balmund comes to a stop and concentrates hard to determine its source. The hissing renews and Balmund wastes not a single second to run off into this new direction, loudly calling out Orchrist's name in the process. However all hope turned to panic as Balmund finds not her partner, but an Ekans staring down mournfully at the remains of something not long dead. This was most certainly not Orchrist! Dissapointed, Balmund thought of screaming out loud for a second, but at the same time, he couldn't help feeling a little for the sorrowfull Ekans. The snake pokémon did notice his prescence however, and it soon begins to hiss dangerously as it rattles its tail to and fro as a warning sign. Suddenly, the Ekans' hiss is replaced by several more as more Ekans begin to emerge from the bushes, their eyes locked on Balmund in a threatening glare. Things just got a lot worse for him. Any doubts regarding the myth of the Forest of Adventure had all vanished in a puff of smoke by now.

Meanwhile, Orchrist was just about recoveirng her concience. Opening her eyes, her vision blurrs by the effect of whatever drug caused her to fall asleep in the first place. Blinking a bit, she looks around and sees the ground several metres below her. Tilting her head back, she finds herself firmly tied up to a thick tree, upside down. This new predicament gets her quite annoyed as she struggles to break free, and fails miserably trying. Sighing in defeat, she hears a rustling sound above her and tilts up to see a Pidgeotto perched in her tree's branches. 'You! You did this to me?,' she hissed angrily at the bird pokemon as she heard several more noises from below, this time, the patter of moving feet coming from several Paras and Parasect who observed her with cold eyes. Anger swelled up within Orchrist as she felt helpless and exposed, letting out another hiss as she demended to be released, too frustrated and angered to care for what they were playing at, or why was she tied up in the first place. Several Pidgey's then land on the branch near the Pidgeotto, one of which was the lure used to catch Orchrist. Somehow, by the looks in their face, she knew she wasn't exactly what they were expecting.

'What are you doing in our Forest Seviper? This is far from your home and it is unwise to come here searching for food,' asks the Pidgeotto, interrogating their new prisoner.

Orchrist remained silent for a few seconds as she tried to calm down enough to give an articulate response.

'First and foremost, the name's Orchrist, and I'm unlike you wild mongrels; I was born and raised by humans and amongst humans,' she sourly replied. She wasn't fond of wild pokemon, as she thought as much of them as a one would for a fly, a line of thought that was probably developed by being constantly over-spoiled by her trainer.

'I came with Dad...,' she said, stopping short as she started thinking about Balmund. Her heart skipped a beat as she realized he was nowhere to be seen, and she suddenly started feeling very worried and distressed. 'I came with Dad as he was intrested in this forest's various herbs; he likes to treat wounded and sick pokemon. I went ahead to scout the area and make sure it was safe. I then found that Pidgey over there sitting all alone and decided to take the chance for a snack. I suddenly blacked out and woke up like this. That's all there is to it. This is the first time I've ever came across this place.,' she resumed, her tone now devoid of any arrogance and now more closely reflecting her current state of mind.

Something sparked within her mind as replied to the Pidgeotto. The pokémon, they may know about his trainer! 'You! One of you should've seen him! A young human, near the area where you've caught me! I must find him!,' she pleaded in desperation, 'I'll do anything in return!,' she finished off as she bit her lip and swallowed up her pride.

Meanwhile, Balmund heavily wished for Orchrist to be by his side as he found himself surrounded by Ekans, as they softly hissed amongst themselves before coming to a sudden stop. Balmund couldn't help but wonder what exactly they were scheming, but couldn't help feeling quite intimidated and uncomfortable by their cautious stare. All he could do was to stand still and pray for the silence to end soon. The first Ekans then let's out a soft hiss while looking around, the others nodding in agreement. Balmund feels a shove at the back of his legs and looks down to see one of the snakes butting him forward. He then notices the rest slithering off in the same direction and as things stood, he felt it was probably best to comply. As he follows them, Balmund gets the sinking feeling that perhaps he may never see his partner again.

An hour of walking on unsteady terrain and accros a river must've probably gone by as Balmund finally arrives at a large clearing with a stone shrine at the very center of it; the figure of a large snake upon it. Before it sat an Arbok swaying to and fro in some sort of trance before standing still when it hears the Ekans approaching. It spun around to greet the Ekans with a soft hiss before noticing Balmud, at which point it rose up flashing it's hood, seriously intimidating Balmund. 'Calm down now Balmund, you've gotta calm down' he thought to himself, so as to not wet himself, but as Arbok slithers closer, Balmund finds himself repeating the same line over and over again, in a comicaly accelerated fashion. The huge snake pokemon slowly slithers around him, as if sizing him up before turning to the Ekans Balmund had first seen, hissing as the other looks down at the ground, quietly hissing back in a submissive manner. The Arbok then stops right in front of Balmund's face, giving a long and slow hiss as if talking to a child. Whatever it was that it wanted, Balmund could only guess it wanted to know about what he was doing and what were his intentions. He needed to act, and needed to do so now. Closing his eyes, Balmund kneeled while holding his hand in the air, trying to look as submissive as the other Ekans had. Taking a deep breath, he then looked up and replied in a tone as calm, clear and respectful as he could possibly muster.

"Lord of snakes, I'm only but a mere traveling trainer who came to these forest only for the sake of exploration. I recently got separated from my partner, a Seviper, while collecting some medicinal herbs. Please understand that my intentions are not hostile. If I've done anything to offend you, please grant me your forgiveness, my lord," he said before lowering his head and waiting for the worst. As he awaited the Arbok's response, Balmund thought frantically of a secondary plan to get him out of this bind.

There was something else that got him both curious and worried, as Balmund recalled the sorrowful look on the Ekans, and most importantly, what layed in front of it. He wouldn't have payed it much interest if not for the fact that said Ekans was accompanied by an entire group of other snakes, and that those very snakes forcefully dragged him to this place. Just what exactly is going on on this forest? Whatever it was, Balmund wasn't sure he should be taking any part of it... or maybe he should. He trembled at the thought of Orchrist's corpse coming up next.

Forest of Mystery – Please reply in limegreen

Balmund ~ Stranded in the middle of the Forest Of Mystery, no longer with one another, your adventure had taken a turn for the worse and you had never felt so alone. Orchrist was far from impressed, imprisoned by what should be her dinner and felt slightly ashamed that she had fallen for their tricks. Even so she was not the prize they were after and the Pidgeotto narrowed its brown eyes at her, a look of concern hidden behind the anger. It demanded to know what she was doing in this Forest a hidden threat lying beneath the question. Orchrist hissed at the thought of answering to her food but thought better of it, she was in a bad situation here and it could end up rather nasty if she wasn’t careful. Still her attitude couldn’t help but to ooze out and she was quick to give her name and insult them in the process. The group of Paras began to whisper amongst one another a new emotion, curiosity, lacing their voices.

“You’re a tamed snake? Well then we should all be safe then,” Pidgeotto said sarcastically as if didn’t trust what she said, that or it held the same feelings towards her as it had towards humans.

”Where is your master then pet?” Pidgeotto asks as Orchrist bares her fangs for the insult. She explains how she came to this Fores and Pidgeotto sat silently and listened to her throughout its gaze not softening for a moment.

“So you lost your human, how sad, do you suppose he left you on purpose for being a pathetic pet?” Pidgeotto asked with a smirk on its lips as Orchrist practically roars coming to your defence.

“Hawk, that’s not a nice thing to say,” the Parasect chirps in, “we shouldn’t stoop to the reptile level of evil, we should give the Seviper to prove herself innocent, did any of you see the human?” she asks. The Pidgey all shake their heads the Paras follow suit.

“How unfortunate for you Orchrist,” she says using her real name as Hawk sneers. “A lying snake, they’re all the same. She tried to take one of our own, she should forfeit her life,” Hawks announces getting some cheers and some uncomfortable looks from the others.

”I will not help murder a potential innocent, we should give her chance to prove her story true, this human could be more helpful than you think,” Parasect interjects her voice showing her disgust the male’s quickness to pass judgement.

”Perhaps … perhaps you are right Sage,” Hawk says as his eyes light up with an idea. ”You could be more useful than I first though Seviper” Orchrist becomes unnerved by his grin, the bird was planning something.

”We are at war, and you will help us to infiltrate the enemy base taking them down from the inside,” Orchrist frowns in confusion still not grasping what Hawk was getting out, what enemies did he mean?

“You could see that you were not what we expected to catch,” Sage explains, ” Rather an Ekans, one of a clan of Ekans lead by a vile Arbok that live in this Forest. They drove us from our home killing many of our family and friends in the process. They act as if they rule the Forest and make ridiculous demands otherwise killing those who refuse to comply. We’re a resistance of Pokemon that fight against them, hoping to drive them out of forest so those of us remaining can live the rest of our lives in peace,” Sage explains, ”And you’re going to help us with this,” Hawk says proudly.

“Their numbers are smaller but their leader is vicious and relentless, its been a stalemate so far but you could give us an edge, a snake against a snake.” Hawk flies down to hover by Orchrist’s face.

”You help us win our war and we’ll help you find your human … deal?” he asks holding out a claw to her tail to shake.

***

Meanwhile you were left face to face with a feral looking Arbok that was demanding something of you, its Ekans tribe surrounding you preventing any escape. Not that you would try, with Arbok’s reflexes it could tear out your throat. You stare into its eyes and wonder if it could possibly learn Hypnosis as you felt yourself grow lightheaded and dizzy. Tearing yourself away from its gaze you quickly provide it with an answer, wondering if it could possibly understand you. Addressing it in a reverent manner hoping to appease it enough not to attack or eat you finishing with a bow for emphasis. Arbok continues to stare at you and you feel uncomfortable under its piercing gaze. The statue behind it suddenly vibrates and glows a deep green before returning to normal. Arbok stares at it in shock before turning to face you and an evil grin spreads across its face making you shiver all over again. It hisses loudly, almost a howl as the Ekans all turn to each other with awe written on their faces. Arbok gestures to you then the statue and the Ekans suddenly start pushing you towards the statue and you begin to panic again. Struggling against them waves of snakes receiving a bite from one of them on your thigh you give a hiss of your own, this one of pain as you’re forced towards the statue. The statue snake’s eyes glowed green as you were thrust upon it and its tail shifted away from the stone and coiled around you. Pushing against it you begin to plead with the snakes hoping to reason with them but as a Parasect corpse it drug towards you begin to get the feeling that you’re about to die. The Parasect looked to be not long dead and it was a strange colour, not the usual red and yellow more of an orange tone overall. Arbok hisses and begins to chant as the tail surrounding you begins to glow the same green and you suddenly feel yourself grow warm and tired. Unable to keep your eyes open you sag against the statue.

You begin to wake back up hoping it was all a dream only to see the Ekans all staring at you in awe. Nervously you pick yourself up and find yourself looking up at them being a few feet taller, that was odd! Arbok slithers up to you with that grin.

”Welcome to our world, Avatar,” Arbok says as the Ekans around you hiss in glee. You turn to face the statue and feel the blood drain from your face as you see you body hung limply there. Looking dwon you saw your new orange claws and legs and the awful realisation that you now inhabited the body of the deceased shiny Parasect made you want to vomit.

”With the human inhabiting The Avatar victory will be ours,” Arbok roars earning hurrah’s from his clan and all you want to do is run and hide, you never missed Orchrist so much in your life now.

“Avatar, in your new body you cannot be killed, not whilst the relic maintains its magic, but understand that does not mean that I will not torture you for an eternity if you do not do as I command.” With the threat of an eternity as a Parasect being tortured by a sadistic Arbok made you want to vomit all over again.

“You will go through the forest and infiltrate the enemy and from there you will ensure our victory, soon we will kill them all,” he announces leaving you to only wish you had never set foot in this forest.

Salamencia ~ Creepy man gone you were left with creepy girl and her little Pikachu waiting impatiently for your answer, tapping her foot as if to demonstrate this point. You think over the decision, realising as you look up at the clock tower and realizing how little time you had, whether to battle her and risk missing the circus performance. A battle would be nice, it was one of the reasons for owning a Pokemon after all, but you eventually decide to give it a miss and head on for the circus, the boy had after all given you a ticket in generosity, it would be rude to miss his act. You turn down the girls offer and ask if she would be willing to battle you later explaining that you had a show to see and she snorts rolling her eyes.

“You’re turning down a battle for some stupid circus show?” she asks somewhat incredulous. “Hmpph, you would have been too easy to defeat anyway. We’re not going to wait around for you get back here, there are better people to battle, come Piki” she says stomping off haughtily Pikachu following suit. You can only sigh at the sight of their backs and begin to realise the world wasn’t as rosy as you had hoped, there were some weird and rude people and Pokemon out there. Snapping out of your thoughts you realise a few more precious minutes had slipped by and run out of the square Cyndaquil trying his best to keep up with you as you follow the signs to the circus hoping not to be late.

Running through the twisting streets eyes searching for each sign as you rounded a new corner you eventually came to the outskirts of the village. An expansive field rolled out into the tree line in the far distance, it looked like part of it was used for sporting events with the far end converted to farmland. Sat before you was an impressively sized red and white striped tent, large enough to house several hundred people with ease. A banner strung across the entrance advertised the travelling show’s name in grand lettering, balloons floated gently moving in the light breeze and colourful lights ran down the tethers holding the tent in place. Taking a moment to catch your breath and appreciate the sight you jog along the soft grass joining on to the end of the queue to enter noting the ticket booth to one side with a sign placed on the front ‘Sold Out’, it must be a popular show! The woman who takes you ticket is dressed in a smart suit with her blonde hair tied up in a neat ponytail and she smiles as she rips the ticket in half handing you one part back.

“Enjoy the show” she says brightly as you pass her and enter the tent. The inside looked larger than possible from the outside but even with rows of seats along the outside of the tent there was a large ringed area in the centre for the acts to perform. The seats were assigned you discovered as you looked down to the remains of you ticket with ‘B10’ written on it, the boy had given you nearly ringside seats, only one row back from the action, that was some luck there. The lights dim down and you prepare for the show, turning down the peanuts and popcorn offered by the mobile vendors. A singular spot light hits the Ringmaster stood on a podium in the center of the ring, a man in his middle thirties dressed in a smart black suit with red details, the jacket with shirt tails reaching his knees. He held a microphone in one hand and a whip in the other.

“Welcome one and all, old and young, Pokemon and person alike to the Tamed Chaos Circus grande show. What you will see here today will excite and thrill you, you won’t believe your eyes and ears as our acts give their all to perform spectular stunts for your entertainment. I have to add that these stunts are dangerous, so children please don’t try them when you leave. Now, the time for talk is over, and the time for magic has begun” and with that he sends his whip forward a loud crack follwing as an explosion of fireworks ripple through the air, accompanied by flames, water and electricity as the crowd oohs and ahhs in awe. The show that followed was nothing short of spectacular. There were a mixture of human and Pokemon acts that lived up to the hype the ringamaster gave. Beautful ladies before stunts whilst riding on the backs of Rapidash’s, there was a lion tamer who clamed a pair of angry Luxray getting in real close and personal with their mouthes too. 3 rather large Donphan charged around the rings whilst small children balanced on chairs that were balanced on them, a trampolinist performed twists and turns in the air along with a pair of Buneary, a pair of Grumpig performed levitation acts and a tightrope walker daring crossed the entire tent with an unmbrella in hand along with the Kirlia balancing perfectly behind her.

Time seemed to pass so quickly with you enjoying yourself thoroughly Cyndaquil also engrossed on your lap. Soon enough the boy and his Cyndaquil came out for their performance. He walks out into the spotlight soaking up atmosphere and gives you a big grin as he spots you in the stands. Spitfire soon lit up two batons and he began to spin them expertly, the smaller Pokemon matching his moves with miniature versions. He soon begins to juggle them throwing them higher into the air as several more are thrown his way from the darkness, Spitfire igniting them before they reach his grasp. When the juggling act was over the demonstratin of fire eating took placing making you cringe as the long poles were forced down the throats of the pair of them. Then Spitfire turned on his trainer shooting off bright embers that his partner slashed through with a sword dissipating them before they reached him. The fire power intensified and the lad moved quicker to slash at the oncoming storm of fire but even that wasn’t enough and the audience cried out as the fireball engulfed him. You found yourself gripping your seat hoping he was alright and as the smoke cleared the boy stood with Spitfire standing before him and took a bow as the crowd roared with applause including yourself and Cyndaquil.

There was only one more act that followed that and you were sure it would have a tough job to top it. A trio of Aipom accompanied another young male dressed in bright coloured clothing and it was then you noticed that monkeys matched him. The formed an intricate pyramid and began to juggle whilst maintaining their structure. Then they began to dance back and forth performing dangerous stunts leaping through electrified rings allowing their tails to grab on and swing through and others like allowing the boy to throw knives at them whilst strapped to a spinning board. One of the Aipoms didn’t look as keen as the others and when its turn came up to perform it squeaked angrily and stormed off out back. The boy looked sheepish but continued on the act regardless.

Soon the show had come to its end and you stretched out your cramped legs from sitting so long and grinned, it was great entertainment and Cyndaquil seemed to enjoy it too. As everyone was filing out you spotted something that made you stop in your tracks. A familiar long coat and icy cold eyes on a hard face that seemed to almost glare out at you; but as soon as you blinked he was gone and you were left wondering if you imagined it. As you reached the exit to the circus tent you were stopped by a figure in front of you and you saw the young lad still in his costume. He grinned at you before speaking.

“Hey thanks for coming, it was great show right?” he says extremely proud of his hard work.

“Do you perhaps wanna tour of the back, see all the performers and their Pokemon?” he asks a hint of pleading in his voice, like it would benefit him more than you but you couldn’t fault his generosity so far and he had been the only friendly face you had encountered in this village.

AiedailEclipsed ~ What an offer this boy was giving you a chance to get out onto the ocean and explore a little and since this is what you had set off to do you practically bit his hand off. Returning Icy to her ball, the seal Pokemon looking disheartened by this decision you beam back at the teen overly eager to get going. You stare at the polish white exterior of the speedboat wondering how you were gonna get there, and Anna’s heavy form began to drag you down into the sand. The teen laughs and grabs Anna from your grasp before holding onto your wrist and hoisting you both into the boat. That was one way to get aboard!

“My name is Jonah,” he says pleasantly moving over to the controls of the boat, “Shall we get going then?” he asks not waiting for an answer as he powers up the boats engines and slowly starts her up moving her forward with increasing speed through the ocean. You sat on one of the integrated benches with Anna next to you as you looked over the expanse of sea, it sure was beautiful. The sun was high in the sky and hit the water making it sparkle like gold glitter. The sea breeze was refreshing and caressed your skin making it tingle. Hearing cawing over head you look up to see Wingull flying about your vessel cawing a greeting before flying off in search of food. The shoreline became a distant line of yellow on the horizon as you moved further away.

“We can’t go too far, these waters are extremely dangerous the further you travel,” he explains as he slows the boat down to crawling speed and turns left so you were travelling parallel with the shoreline.

“Oh and you’re not the only who likes water Pokemon,” he says with coy grin as he brings his fingers to his lips and whistles sharply making your ears ring. The water begins to ripple in the distance as something moves underneath. It swims swiftly towards the boat before leaping out giving a happy cry of ‘Seel’ before performing a back flip in and making a perfect re entry. Jonah laughs as Seel pops up following the boat in its motions leaping out of the water every now and then clapping its flippers together.

“Meet Seel, we’ve been together for a while now and it just loves to perform tricks, especially fancy dives,” and as if to demonstrate this point Seel leaps out the water splashing you with small droplets performing a corkscrew and landing back in the water. Gemma seems impressed and Seel leaps onto the boat receiving a pat from its trainer along its head, the sea lion nuzzling into the hand. They seemed really close, and you could relate, even though you and Gemma hadn’t been together long you were close too. Seel leaps back into the water as Johan slows the boat down offering you some drinks and a sandwich getting some Pokefood for Gemma.

“This is as far as we should go,” he says taking a bite of his own sandwich. After a few minutes of comfortable silence as you enjoy your snacks Seel emerged from the water and speaks to Jonah eagerly pointing down to water and Jonah smiles.

“Do you both feel up to a battle, Seel says there are some wild Pokemon in this area you could challenge?”

Not entirely answering the question of how to get on the boat, Anna continues wandering around the boat simply elated at the thought of the chance to get to go out into this ocean, this ocean of... mystery. Icy, slightly unenthused at having to go back to her Poke Ball, but Anna could only be smiles as she beamed up at the young man standing on deck bemused by her eagerness. Staring at the white exterior that seems polished to a gleaming shine, Anna continues deeper into the water, mesmerized by the alure of the ocean, the young man himself, and the boat; however, a hitch in the plan emerged in the form of Gemma's heavy form dragging Anna down into the silky sand. He laughs up at his vantage point seeing the slight struggle, and graps Gemma and your wrist, and hoisting both of us into the boat.

"My name is Jonah," he says contendly moving gracefully, considering the rising and falling ocean tides, over to the controls of the boat, "Shall we get going then?" He queries not waiting for a response as he revs up the engines and begins carefully moving her out into the deeper waters and steadly increasing in speed. Anna goes over to sit on one of the built-in benches with Gemma hopping along, with a hollow plomp with each hop. Looking out over the great, wide sea, Anna marvels at the beauty of it all. With the sun high in the sky, beaming down, almost smiling, onto the water, creating a scene like golden dust scattered out over the water. The breeze coming in from the sea, danced across Anna's skin gently cooling it, creating a unearthly tingling sensation. A gentle caw from above their heads signaled the approach of a Wingull, looking up at the creature just in time to see it fly off in pursuit of food. As they went farther and farther out to sea, the far off shoreline became a thin yellow scar on the beautiful horizon.

"We can't go too far, these waters are extremely dangerous the further you travel," he explains, carefully slowing the boat down to a snail speed and turning left as to travel in a perpindicular line to the shore.

"Oh and you're not the only one who likes Water Pokemon," he says with a playful grin bringing his fingers tto his lips and whisling sharply making Anna's ears ring with the sound. Suddenly, off in the distance the water begins rippling as if something underneathe the waves was moving. The creature or creatures unknown, began swimming swiftly towards the boat before leaping deftly out of the water with a happy cry of Seeeell before doing a graceful back-flip and sticking the re-entry. Jonah chuckles as Seel bobs up and down in the water pursuing the boat in its forward path, leaping out of the water and deftly clapping its flippers together.

"Meet Seel, we've been together for a while now and it just loves to perform tricks, expecially fancy dives," and as if to emphasize this point Seel leaps out of the water splashing Anna with small, silver-y droplets before performing a corkscrew and landing in the water with a small splash. Gemma looks down into the impressed at the Seel's acrobatic abilities, and Seel leaps deftly onto the boat to recieve a light pat of the head from Jonah, the young looking Sea Lion nuzzled up into Jonah's hand happily. They seemed so close in Anna's eyes, almost as close as her and Gemma, even though they hadn't been together that long either. The young Seel jumps happily back overboard, as Jonah slows the boat down, offfering Anna some drink and a sandwich, but not before retrieving Gemma a bowl of Pokemon food.

"This is as far as we should go," Jonah says nibbling on his sandwich. After a few minutes of amiable silence of indulging in the scenery and the snaks, Seel remerges from the pristine waters and "speaks" up to Jonah before eagerly pointing down into the water, and Jonah smiles his signature coy smile.

"Do you both feel up to a battle, Seel says there are some wild Pokemon in this area you could challenge?"

Thinking over this sudden request, Anna begins to imagine the myriad of possibilites for which we could be battling. Before, responding Anna looks down at Gemma seeing her looking up determinedly at her. Anna nods slightly to which Gemma responds with a cry of Cllaaaam.

"Its decided! We'd love to battle some of the native Pokemon!" Anna says enthusiastically hopping up raring to go.

Ocean of Mystery – Please reply in deepskyblue

AiedialEclipsed ~ It had only been a short trip so far into the ocean and you pulled to a slow allowing you to admire the serene scenery and enjoy a snack with your new found friends. As Seel breaks the comfortable silence indicating that it found some wild sea-faring Pokemon under the water surface Jonah remembers your desire to explore the sea with Gemma and offers to let you challenge one of the Pokemon to a battle. You think over the possibilities that come with such a proposition but Gemma seemed so keen and you didn’t want to disappoint her so agree to the idea. Jonah walks over to the other side of his speed boat and pulls open a trunk pulling out some equipment and placing them down on the bench next to you Picking up a pair of plain looking goggles he holds them out to you.

“These may look simple enough but they allow you to really quite clearly under the water,” he explains handing you a pair of white ones, keeping the black ones for himself. He then places a small white mouthpiece with two miniature cylinders each side and a speaker in the centre.

“These PBE’s, or Portable Breathing Equipment have enough oxygen stored for 30 minutes underwater, should be enough for you to explore a little and fit a battle in if you find a willing challenger. It straps around your cheeks and the back of your face to hold it in place but you have to keep a good seal on it with your mouth so no water gets in,” he says coughing a little when he talks mouths and seals feeling a little embarrassed for having to use such words in the same sentence.

“I also have some flippers if you want to use them underwater or you can go without,” he finishes placing the equipment next to you. “I’ll come down with you … if you don’t mind, I want to make sure you’re safe whilst down there, plus it would be good to see a Pokemon battle, I can help you out if anything goes wrong not that it will,” he says stripping his shirt off leaving him in his board shorts and after removing his flip-flops he turns to look at you waiting for you change into appropriate attire for swimming when he notices your look. He turns pink before turning around.

“Sorry Anna, forgot myself there,” he says with a shaky voice as Seel slaps a flipper to its face in disbelief. After you had changed into your swimming attire, Gemma keeping a watch in case his wandering eyes came back you give Jonah the signal to turn around and he does smiling bashfully.

“Okay lets get going then,” he says after securing his goggles and PBE and dives off the edge of the boat into the cold sea water emerging to shake his hair free of moisture waiting for you to follow suit. Gemma leaps in used to the water and soon after you leap in shivering at the drop in temperature. Jonah points down and begins to swim underwater. Taking one last look at the scenery you prepare to dive under when you see a flash of red. Swivelling you scour the waters surface again but see nothing, there didn’t appear to be anything there, perhaps it was the sun reflecting off th water’s surface playing tricks on your eyes. Shaking your head as Gemma emerges to find out what was taking you so long you dive under.

You gasp in awe nearly taking in water into your mouth at the gorgeous scenery hidden just beneath the water’s surface. The light shone down illuminating the water and you could see many Pokemon swimming happily, a beautiful view of colours, fins and pincers, you had never seen so many water Pokemon at one time. Not far off the land rose up and was decorated with coral, lichen, kelp and sea grasses that appeared to dance joyfully.

”Magical isn’t it,” Jonah said sounding garbled underwater and you were almost shocked to hear him speak when you remember that the PBE’s allow you to speak underwater too. You see Gemma greeting a pair of Krabby who were swimming by, a couple it would appear and they pleasantly converse with her whilst Seel swims/dances with an elegant Goldeen. Gemma swims back up to you looking joyous to be in such a place when she winces. You wonder what was wrong when you saw Bubbles popping off her back. She swings around to see a boisterous looking Horsea, the culprit behind the attack. It grins through its little mouth and speaks to Gemma issuing a challenge.

“Well that didn’t take long, looks like Horsea wants to test itself against your Clamperl,” Jonah adds as Seel watches this interaction with interest, the wild Pokemon around you also waiting to see what would happen.

In response to Sal’s offer to battle later, the girl simply rolled her eyes. “You’re turning down a battle for some stupid circus show?” she asked, with some degree of shock in her voice, “Hmpph, you would have been too easy to defeat anyway. We’re not going to wait around for you get back here, there are better people to battle, come Piki”, and with that, she walked off, her Pikachu following obediently. 'Wow, the trainers here certainly seem eager to battle', he found himself thinking. He sighed, and looked down to Cyndaquil. “I guess it can’t be helped, some people just can’t wait to battle.” His thoughts suddenly turned to Spitfire, and he remembered just how little time he had before the show. “Shoot, Cyndaquil, we need to get moving!” He headed for the exit to the square, with Cyndaquil running behind him, trying to keep up.

He kept running through the streets and alleys, following all the signs he could find, until he reached what appeared to be the outskirts of Mediville. He stopped to take in the new surroundings. It was a large field, which seemed to be used for sporting events, with farmland at the other end. In front of him stood a rather large red and white tent, which Sal guessed could hold at least 1,000 spectators. Across the entrance was a banner, with the words “Tamed Chaos Circus” printed on it. Various lights and balloons decorated this impressive tent. The ticket booth to the side had a sign put in front with the words “Sold Out” written on. Queues of people were waiting to get in, reassuring Sal that he wasn’t late. 'This must be the place. It seems a little large for a travelling circus though', he thought to himself, as he walked forwards, toward the tent. He showed his ticket to the blonde woman in the booth.

“Enjoy the show,” she said as Sal turned toward the entrance. As he walked inside, he noticed that the tent was even bigger than he had imagined, with many rows of seating, and a massive ring in the middle for the performers. He looked down to his ticket, and noticed that the seats had been assigned before-hand. His ticket showed that his seat was “B-10”, near the action, luckily for him. He went to take his seat, letting Cyndaquil onto his lap, as food vendors came down, offering popcorn and peanuts. He turned the snacks down, and kept his attention on the ring. The lights dimmed, and the Ringmaster, a seemingly middle-aged man, stepped onto the podium placed in the middle of the ring, a spotlight shining down on him.

Now, the time for talk is over, and the time for magic has begun,” he said, and with that and a crack of his whip, fireworks exploded into the air, with jets of flames, water, and electricity following shortly after, the crowd gasping in awe. Many acts then took to the stage, all living up to the expectations that the ringmaster had set. There were women performing stunts while riding Rapidash, children balancing on Donphan rolling around the edge of the arena, a lion tamer was taming a couple of Luxray, a trampolinist was performing with some Buneary, a pair of Grumpig were showing off their telekinesis, and a tightrope walker and a Kirlia were crossing the tent.

Time seemed to pass quickly, and before long, the young boy and his Cyndaquil, Spitfire, appeared for their performance. He looked up into the stands, and gave Sal a grin once he found him. Spitfire lit two batons, which the boy spun with impressive skill, his Cyndaquil doing the same with smaller batons, also lit. The boy then started to juggle them, with more being thrown towards him, Spitfire lighting them before they reach his hands. When the pair had finished their juggling act, they began pushing the batons down their throat, in a fire-eating performance. Then Spitfire started firing embers toward its trainer, who slashed through them expertly with a sword, stopping them before they reach him. Spitfire increased the fire-power, which forced the boy to slash faster at the large amount of flame, but that wasn’t enough, and the flames engulfed him. Sal sat on the edge of his seat, holding his breath and hoping that the kid was alright. The smoke soon cleared, and the boy and his Cyndaquil took a bow, as the crowd cheered and clapped, and Sal found himself joining in.

There was only one more act to go, and Sal wondered what they had that could top the amazing act he had just seen. A young man dressed in strangely coloured clothing walked into the ring, followed by three Aipom. Sal noticed that the colours of the trainer’s clothes matched the fur of the Aipom. The Aipom formed a pyramid and began to juggle while keeping the structure together. They then began to dance and perform dangerous stunts, such as jumping through rings with electricity running through them, and being strapped to a rotating board while the boy threw knives at them. One of the Aipom seemed rather unhappy with this part of the act, and ran backstage when its turn came. The boy looked a little sheepish, but carried on with the act.

Once the show had finished, Sal stretched his cramped legs, and smiled at his Cyndaquil, who smiled back. The entertainment had been worth the stressful rush to get there. As everyone was leaving, Sal thought he saw the long coat and cold eyes of the old Drowzee trainer from earlier, staring at him, but he seemed to disappear as Sal blinked. Sal was surprised. 'Was that my imagination?' he found himself thinking. As he reached the exit, he saw a familiar figure, and realised that it was the young Cyndaquil trainer, grinning at him.

“Hey thanks for coming, it was a great show right?” he said, clearly very proud of his act. “Do you perhaps wanna tour of the back, see all the performers and their Pokemon?” he asked, almost pleading, as if it was for him rather than for Sal. Still, Sal decided that it would be rude to turn him down. He cautiously pulled out a Pokeball, remembering the confusion the last time he met Spitfire, and pointed it at Cyndaquil.

“Cyndaquil, sorry about this, but I want to make sure you’re with me the entire time, so back into the Pokeball for now.” Cyndaquil reluctantly agreed, and disappeared into the ‘Ball. “Ok, I don’t have anything better to do, so I’d love to have a tour of the back,” he said to the boy again. “By the way, I never introduced myself, my name’s Sal, thanks for the free ticket.”

The Pidgeotto had sat silently as Orchrist explained her story, listening throughout, his gaze not softening for a moment.

“So you lost your human, how sad, do you suppose he left you on purpose for being a pathetic pet?” he then asked with a smirk on its lips.

"How dare you!" Orchrist fiercely snapped back, feeling every fiber of her body fill itself with rage and indignation at the Pidgeotto's remark. If she could, she would've instantly gone for Pidgeotto's throat, wondering if he'd still sport that silly grin while her fangs were sunk deep into his flesh, but as it stood, she could only but curse and swear in frustration.

“Hawk, that’s not a nice thing to say,” the Parasect chirps in, “we shouldn’t stoop to the reptile level of evil, we should give the Seviper the chance to prove herself innocent, did any of you see the human?” she asks. The Pidgey all shake their heads the Paras follow suit, much to Orchrist's dismay. “How unfortunate for you Orchrist,” she says using her real name as Hawk sneers.

“A lying snake, they’re all the same. She tried to take one of our own, she should forfeit her life,” Hawks announces getting some cheers and some uncomfortable looks from the others, as Orchrist began to panic. Thinking of her final moments, Orchrist wondered if she would beg for mercy, or if she would die cursing their names and very existence. Ultimately, all she could ever do is to wish for Balmund to be at her side.

”You could be more useful than I first though Seviper” Orchrist becomes unnerved by his grin. What could he be plotting?

”We are at war, and you will help us to infiltrate the enemy base taking them down from the inside,” Hawk explains as Orchrist frowns in confusion still not grasping what Hawk was getting out. "War?" she asks with a puzzled look.

Though still holding a grudge against Hawk, Orchrist took a moment to both calm down and process all this new information. Even if she thought of them as savages, having their aid could prove to be very useful in searching for Balmund, and she firmly believed that being abandoned by him just wasn't a possibility. Still, she didn't trust Hawk's intentions. He may very well be gladly sending her on a suicide mission, killing two snakes with one stone, so to speak. Sage however seemed reasonable and trustworthy, and Orchrist was already seeing her as something more than just food or an annoyance.

"Deal," she finally said, stretching her tail towards Hawk to seal their agreement. "So I just have to beat some scary Arbok, eh? Well it's your lucky day, where I come from I've sparred against dragons! You'll soon see why I take so much pride to be raised by a human," she said while giving Hawk a defiant grin. "However, I've got a few questions for you... Hawk. First of all, I suppose you have some sort of a plan sorted out already, yes? This is you chance to end this war once and for all, after all. Also, you won't send me on this mission all by myself, are you? As I've said, this is the very first time I've ever come to this forest and I'll be needing a guide. Plus, you'll be wanting someone to keep an eye on me anyways. Lastly, on your honor, I do have your word in that you'll find Dad in exchange for my assistance... regardless of what happens to me, am I right? Should I blunder, I want him to know"

Staring onto Hawk's eyes, Orchrist awaited his response.

Meanwhile, Balmund was feeling very uncomfortable under the pressure of the Arbok's gaze. The stress was really starting to get to him already until suddenly, the statue behind Arbok vibrates and glows a deep green before returning to normal. Arbok stares at it in shock before turning back to Balmund, and evil grin spreading accross its face which makes Balmund go pale white in fear. It hisses loudly as the Ekans all turn to each other with awe written on their faces. Arbok gestures to Balmund and then to the statue, and before he could even make sense of anything, he's suddenly being pushed and bullied towards the statue by a wave of Ekans. In panic, Balmund tries to struggle against them, but resistance proves to be futile as his attempts only net him a bite on his thigh. The statue snake's eyes glowed green as he's thrust upon it and its tail shifted away from the stone and coiled around him. "Wait... no, please... stop this! I swear I'm not who you're looking for! I did nothing wrong!" Balmund pleads attempting to reason with them, but as the corpse of a Parasect is drug towards him, he feels he's now far beyond the point of no return. Death, is inminent it seems. The Parasect itself did not look like it was long dead, and it was not of the usual red and yellow colors Balmund was used to see, but rather a more orange tone overall. Arbok then begins to hiss and chant as the tail surrounding Balmund glows the same deep green as before. Balmund suddenly feels warm and tired as he slowly passes out onto unconsciousness. Was this what death felt like? In his final moments, Balmund's thoughts turned to his family. "Mom, Dad... Orchrist... I'm sorry" He whispered as he closed his eyes and sagged against the statue.

It was odd, Balmund still felt very much alive, like when one's aware of his own self while asleep. 'Am I really dead?' he thought. Maybe it was all a bad dream. But as he opens his eyes, however, he sees the Ekans staring at him in awe. Coming back to reality felt like being awakened by a bucket of ice cold water, unpleasant and shocking. For some reason, they all looked a lot bigger than before. Arbok slithers in, still with that evil grin of his, and his appearance a lot more threatening and intimidating than ever from Balmund's new perspective.

”Welcome to our world, Avatar,” Arbok says as the Ekans around Balmund hiss in glee. Balmund could not comprehend what it meant by Avatar, but more importantly, he shocked to have understood what it said in the first place! Turning his face to the statue, he almost passes out again at the sight of his own body hanging limply there. Looking down he sees his new claws and legs as he comes upon a grisly new realization, he now inhabited the body of the deceased shiny Parasect! Had this ever happened before? Was it even posible? And just when Balmund thought it couldn't get any worse.

”With the human inhabiting The Avatar victory will be ours,” Arbok roars earning hurrah’s from his clan. “Avatar, in your new body you cannot be killed, not whilst the relic maintains its magic, but understand that does not mean that I will not torture you for an eternity if you do not do as I command. You will go through the forest and infiltrate the enemy and from there you will ensure our victory, soon we will kill them all,” he announces.

There were too many things for Balmund to cope with, and the stress of it all was taking him to his limits. Turning into a Pokémon? Serving a sadistic Arbok on the threat of an eternity of torture? For a second, he thought he was probably better off dead. However, he remembered something, the fact that he's *not* dead. It's too early to give up, and as long as he lives there would always be a way around things. For now, he had to consider his options. He needed to find a way to return to his previous body, and he still needed to find his missing partner. Trying his best to calm down, Balmund attempts to once again address the Arbok in a reverent manner, hoping to at least improve his current situation. "I will do as you command, master, but please, if I may, I have but a few inquiries of my own. All for the sake of victory, of course."

It surprised him fluently he could speak the language, almost as if he had known all along. Balmund still had absolutely no idea of what was going on, however. Infiltrate their enemies? Kill them all? Everything seemed just too... surreal. But perhaps if he played along, all these mysteries would eventually find an answer. Usually, it's best to go with the flow instead of against it. Hopefully, having used the words 'Victory' and 'Master' might just be enough to get Arbok on a more complacent mood.

As Balmund awaited the Arbok's response, he formed a mental checklist of the things he needed for himself.

First and foremost, he needed to get back his other two pokemon, namely Sothe, his Treecko, which lied on his human body's belt. He's impertinent, but at least he's not rash. Surely he would recognize Balmund through speech, or so he hoped. There was a chance of finding Orchrist now, but as a Parasect, she wouldn't recognize him. She would recognize Sothe however, and that could be just enough. Sothe's familiarity with the woods would also prove to be very useful, and his affinity for the Grass Type would help Balmund greatly in getting used to his new body. In regards with Kurthnaga however, Balmund didn't even want to imagine what would happen if he were released at this point in time. Though young, the fossil pokémon possessed enough power to cause some real mayhem... a strength which he wasn't yet ready to control. Yet, he'd feel more at ease knowing he was near. Maybe if he asked the Arbok real nice and gave a solid argument as to how they could prove helpful in this war would he actually grant Balmund's wish.

Lastly, he needed as much information as possible about the previous owner of this Parasect's body, as well as intel on these snake's enemies. They oughta know something, and if he is to play along, preparation is key.

After recieving his apparently obvious answer, Jonah strolls over to the opposite side of the sleek, glossy white boat, and opened a trunk, pulling out several items and sitting them down on the bench next to Anna. He picks up a pair of ordinary looking goggles and holds it out to her.

"These may look simple enough but they allow you to see really quite cleary under the water," he explains, taking a pair of black goggles and handing you the white pair. He bends down again and this time picks up a small white mouth piece with two small cylindrical containers on each side of it and a small speaker like object directly in the middle.

"These's PBE's, or Portable Breathing Equipment have enough oxygen stored for 30 minutes underwater, should be enough for you to explore a little and fit a battle in if you find a willing challenger. It straps around your cheeks and the back of your face to hold it in place but you have to keep a good seal on it with your mouth so no water gets in," he explains, coughing embarrassedly, for having to use such language all in the same sentence.

"I also have some flippers if you want to use them underwater or you can go without," he says placing all of the necessary next to Anna. "I'll come down with you... if you don't mind, I want to make sure you're safe whilst down there, plus it would be good to see a Pokemon battle, I can help you out if anything goes wrong not that it will," he says taking off shirt unashamedly, leaving him in his shorts and taking his flip-flops off he looks around at you waiting for you apparently, to change. Anna gives him a funny look, which once he notices he turns a light shade of pink, before turning not quite so gracefully around, almost stumbling.

"Sorry Anna, forgot myself there," he says shakily as Seel just slaps one of his pure white flipper against his face in what could only be described as a disgusted and embarrassed action. She changed slowly, watching out for any motions that would signal wandering eyes, with Gemma just as watchful you are. Finishing changing you tap him on the shoulder in a signal that it is safe once again to turn around, with him smiling bashfully.

"Ok, lets get going then," he said before safely placing the goggles on his eyes and then secruing the PBE firmly in him mouth, and dives off the side of the sleek white boat into the pristine cold waters, he emerges from the depths shaking his hair wildly. Gemma leaps in, eager to return to her home-like enviroment. Securing the PBE, and goggles, but forgoing the flippers, Anna swan dives gracefully into the water, shivering slightly at the sudden drop in temperature. Emerging from the deep water, like Jonah, you glimpse him pointing down and then he dissappears down into the deep. With one last parting glance at the beautiful scenery, Anna prepares to dive, but catches an odd glimmer of red, whipping around in the water, she sees nothing on the horizon but the open water, putting it off as a trick of the light on the water. Gemma emerges curious to make sure that you are ok, shaking her head, Anna dives down accompanied by Gemma.

As Anna opens her eyes to the true beautiful scenery, Anna nearly took in a "breath" of air, gasping at the sheer beauty. The light from up above filters down into the water, illuminating, everything. Pokemon flittering around in the water, colors that you could never immagined to exist, fins flaring out in the water, pincers creating a slightly dim ping, and Water Pokemon galore. In the distance she can see the sea floor rising up creating a slight valley covered in corals, lichen, kelp, and an abundance of other sea grasses that seem to dance in the calm water.

"Maigcal isn't it?" Jonah says sounding garbled due to the underwater nature of our sight seeing, however, Anna is shocked a bit at the sound of his voice, before remembering that the PBE's allow underwater vocal communication. After recovering from the slight shock, Anna sees Gemma gleefully greeting a pair of Krabby who were swimming by, they seemed to be couple, and they stop a moment to have a "conversation," with Gemma. A bit farther off Seel is seen swimming around with an elegant Goldeen, they wove their way through the water in an elegant waltz, with music all their own. Gemma swims up to Anna with a joyous smile, happy at being in the water again, before she grimaces. Wondering what caused her slight wince, she swims a bit closer up and peers over Gemma, to see light Bubbles popping against her shell. Gemma becoming fed up with this onslaught swings around to come face-to-face with a haughty looking Horsea, still issuing some bubbles from its snout. It grins mischeiviously and speaks with Gemma as if issuing a challenge.

"Well, that didn't take long, looks like Horsea wants to test itself against your Clamperl," Jonah interjects as Seel watches the interaction with a reserved face, looking around Anna notices the other Pokemon in this underwater "glade" watching apprehensively.

"Gemma, are we going to sit there and take that, and let it get away with that? I think no!" Anna excalims bubbles issuing from the PBE, Gemma turns slightly nodding. "Ok, girl, take this slowly, start off with Iron Defense to boost your defenses, then lead up with Copycat, surround it, and end it quickly with a triple Whirlpool!" Anna exclaims issuing Gemma's battle orders, and waiting with an anxious expression for the outcome of the moves.

(I was so nervous in posting this, stupid huh. I was just so unsure if I was doing it right and hope nothing counts as self-updating as I wanted to try to roleplay out something beforehand. If you could give some critique that’d be great, I’d hate to totally screw up on my first go. Anyway, can’t wait to get started.)

The words printed on the guide weren’t the clearest indication of where the two would be heading, it gave at best the faintest of an outline but not the definition needed to make a clear opinion.
“Forest of Adventure,” the red-headed boy murmured taking a good look at the guide he’d been issued of the starting area. The description consisted of merely one line of information – the promise of adventure. “Ah well, to heck with that, who needs a guide when we have intuition,” and that was the end of the guide, thrown carelessly away in the recesses of the boys bag, never to be seen again. Walking blindly forward, that was the boy’s style, which was especially easy considering the mass of orange blurring his view.
“Chaaar,” came the response from the small lizard-creature nipping at his trainers heels in attempts to keep up with his stride, which, wasn’t as easy as it would sound when he was caught up in something.
“Ah, oh, sorry about that buddy,” said Alfons, finally realizing the struggling lizard attempting to keep up, “I’m just excited is all. You have to be excited too right? First adventure in a new region’s, it’s always exciting.”
The fire type merely replied with an exasperated, “Char,” before flopping to the forest floor.
“I guess we could take a break, sorry, sorry, it’s been a while since I’ve had to raise a Pokemon so young without, well, help,” he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. “We can take a quick break if you want…”
“Char-ma,” came the hushed response.
“I’ll take that as a yes then,” Alfons let out a sigh of his own before looking for a good a place to sit, waiting for the small fire-type to catch his breath. Great, I’ve been here five minutes and already I’ve managed to screw things up, he doesn’t look too mad at me but still…
A few minutes of awkward silence passed before the small fire-type jumped back upon his feet, arms waving before marching forward in the same fashion his trainer had done previously. Maybe this won’t be as bad as I thought.
“Hey, that’s the spirit, onwards to adventure,” the teen declared pointing dramatically forward. “Hey, Maurice! Wait for me!”

Umbreon UPN AR Updates Batch 5

Is it a bird, is it a plane, no it’s an Arc_Angel with updates!!
Apologies for the gap in my updates, I do hope not to repeat it. If any of these updates are not up to my previous standards its because I wrote them in my sleep-deprived state at work on nights.

Forest of Mystery – Please reply in limegreen

Balmund ~ The blood rushing to her head was making it increasingly difficult for Orchrist to think straight. Along with her rising emotions she had to be cautious not to make any rash decisions, one she would regret later. Calming down her rising panic at how throughly screwed she was and potentially her trainer could be she thought over the proposition carefully. Although she didn’t trust Hawk as far as she could toss his feathery body he had promised to help her find her trainer and having a Pokemon with an insight to the large and confusing forest assisting in the search would be invaluable. On the other hand this feathery menace may very well be sacrificing her for his cause, using her to fight an unwinable war that would lead to blood shed and possibly her death … and no tears would be shed by a single one of these forest Pokemon. The Parasect on the other hand had been more willing to listen to her side of the story, a sympathetic ear to a potential killer, she could prove to be more than a quick meal.

After mulling it over Orchrist held her tail out and wrapped it around the extended claw of the Pidgeotto sealing the deal. It didn’t take long for the spunky Seviper to try and sweeten the deal, boasting of her past excapades meeting Hawks amsuing stare with defiant eyes. But first, before she set out on what could be a suice mission she had questions that had to be answered and wasting no time in reversing the interogation. Hawk rolled his eyes and sighed through his beak at the first one.

“Of course there is a plan snake, we may have caught you on a whim bur our goal still stands the same. We have been fighting this war for too long to be without strategies to fool the enemy, and that is exactly what we shall do.” he huffed a little insulted by her assumption of their niavety.

”I wouldn’t trust you to follow the plan should I let you slither away by yourself pet, of course you will be accompanied on this mission, but you will not endanger the lives of our clan do you hear. Oif word arises that you turned coat and tried to get out of this little deal of ours I will personally ensure your painful death,” he threatens almost beginning to doubt the plan, Orchrist did seem so self assured after all even if she had been tricked into her capture.

”Sage will guide you through the forest and keep a close reign on you … don’t underestimate her strength, she has felled worse beasts than you.” he said making Sage scoff, she wasn’t one for being ‘bigged’ up but from the look in her eye you guessed that he wasn’t far off in that exaggeration.

”You will make your way through the firest and Sage will get you up to speed on the tactics on the enemy so that you can better blend in. Though you may be a disgusting creature that will not neccessarrily allow you to be trusted in their clan. When you reach the enemies camp you will be on your own. You are to gather as much intelligence as you can, if your pea–sized brain can handle that, we won’t be sending you with writing equipment so you’ll have to remember all you learn. When the time is right we will draw the leader away and then you will take down the snakes from within, convince them that their leader has abbandoned their cause knowing that their enemy, that’s us, are about to overrun them. Then we watch the ensuing chaos as they flee, fight, die …” he trails off with a dreamy look in his eye as Sage looks on concerned. Hawk grins before raking his razor sharp claws along Orchrist’s bindings allowing her to sag to the ground not expecting the sudden drop. She picks herself up and glares at the bird.

”Lets make a start Orchrist, we have a long journey ahead of us and I’ve a lot to teach you.” Sage says before scuttling off through the forest, Orchrist following behind her, she would have a good deal fo time alone with the Parasect now.

***

In another part of the forest a young boy was hung limply in the grasp of a snake statue as a horrified Parasect looked on. It was like an outer body experience only this was frighteningly real, you could see your too pale skin contrasting against the stone of the statue, the slowing trickle of blood from the bite mark in your thigh though felt no pain from the wound. Not trapped within the body of a once deceased bug you felt ready to vomit, your head spinning and pounded out a rhythm that was enough to drive you mad. Your thoughts were all over the place and you began to feel despondent, your beloved Seviper was lost to you and now you had lost your body as well. You began to wish that you had died when a realisation of what that situation would mean to your Pokemon brought you out of that frame of mind immediately. You felt your mind calm enough to rationalise your thoughts, whilst there was still breath in your body … in either body you would not stop until this travesty was corrected, you would find your way home and reunite with all your Pokemon.

Taking a few deep breaths whilst the legion of Ekans quietened their cheers you speak find this new raspy voice strange and unnerving. Keeping up the revered front you bow slightly and agree to do whatever your new ‘master’ commands but ask for a few of your own questions to be answered first in order to ensure the victory Arbok spoke of. The larger snake pulls itself up to tower over you and you feel your fear come back with a vengeance, the last words it uttered, promises of eternal torture crushing your mind.

”Victory is guaranteed regardless if your questions are answered or not. I am your new Master and you are best to remember that Avatar. I promised torture but if I decided to destroy your human body that torture would be endless, Pokemon feel pain so much more” it hisses out making your new skin crawl, the way it said that you felt very sick.

”The time is upon us, prepare my children for soon we will strike and feast upon them all, we will paint the forest with their blood,” Arbok roared receiving more cheers from the Ekans leaving a sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach. It didn’t seem to buy your sincerity and your inquiries would go unanswered, how would you succeed in your mission to return to your body without assistance, and with your Pokemon trapped and lost you had no allies now.

”You possess the body of one of the enemy, one they still believe to be alive. This will allow you to infiltrate their feeble camp, gain their trust and allow us access straight to the heart. We will destroy them from the inside.” Arbok hisses lowly a grin wide on its reptile lips.

”You,” it says suddenly points at an Ekans with its long tail which was enough to startle you though the Ekans remained stoic.

”You will lead the Avatar through the forest to the enemies camp, satisfy his ‘inquiries’,” it says giving you a wicked grin, ”you know what to do from there,” Arbok finishes as Ekans nods and slithers up to you giving you a blank stare before slithering away expecting you to follow. This Ekans, although they all looked the same, appeared to be the first one to find you.

Not too many miles away from one another you and Orchrist were both not to know that you were moving closer with the same plan made by different dictators.

Pokemaniacneo ~ Don’t be nervous, I don’t bite XD It was a fine start so don’t worry. Interacting with your own Pokemon doesn’t count as self-updating so you’re alright.

For those who started out on their first ever adventures with their starter Pokemon there was the Arcane Realm which a varied selection of environments to explore. Stading outside a lush verdant forest and reading through the beginning pamphlet describing the area you couldn’t help but think how vague it was. It gave the most basic description possible on the forest, it didn’t detail the kind of wildlife and Pokemon you could encounter or what to beware, useful information for the budding trainer. Tossing the paper away in your bag you thought ‘To Hell with it’, you didn’t need a guide, your own instincts and intuition would keep you on the straight and narrow. Head held high you walk blindly into the forest allowing the thought of adventure keep you thoroughly excited. So lost in your own thoughts and strides you didn’t notice that your faithful Charmander was trying helplessly to keep up with you but with much small legs he was struggling and let loose an exasperated sigh. Upon hearing the tired voice of your Charmander you instantly slow and turn to look at the little lizard whose turquoise eyes begged you for a break. Apologizing quickly for getting carried away you blame it on your excitement, one your fire type didn’t seem to share right now as he flopped to the floor resting his little feet.

You both took a small reprieve before Maurice, as the Charmander was named, hopped up suddenly enthused with energy and marched on with a similar gait that you had earlier. Grinning at his enthusiasm you pick yourself up and hastily follow him through the forest. You couldn’t help but wonder what kind of adventure this forest, as it was named for such, could provide. Upon first glance it was a beautiful sight, lush with various colours, the green of the bushes, the brown bark of the trees, the yellows, pinks, purples and whites of the flowers; it all seemed so idealistic. There was a worn mud path leading through the forest suggesting that you were not the first to have ever travelled here. But as you walked through the beautiful forest with its vivid colours and smells you began to feel that something was wrong … it was far too quiet. Titling your head and listening for the sound of animals busying themselves with their daily business or energetic Pokemon bounding through the forest you heard none, just the occasional rustling of the trees as the wind picked up. Maurice sniffed the air and frowned, it was if he sensed the same thing as you, there was nothing here, so much for the promise of adventure!

You continue down the beaten path wondering if would be a better idea to turn back and explore a different continent even though it would be far from possible. Maurice looked deflated as he now trudged through the forest head hung low, this wasn’t fun at all. You continued on not losing hope that you would something … anything that would indicate life other than the pair of you. Suddenly Maurice looked up and began to run as fast as his little legs could carry him stopping a little ways off. Following him you notice that he’s stopped by some small trees and bushes, and the odd that was that they looked like they had been trampled. The little trees were snapped at the cores and the bushes flattened to the ground. That was a sign if ever you needed one, but did you really want to encounter something that tramples the scenery? A rustling echoes from up ahead and your eyes widen, heart beating excitedly as the first sign of life emerged. A small pink Pokemon runs through the bushes looking fearfully behind it before turning to see you. It skids to a halt looking at you with almost relief before it realises what you are and fear enters its eyes again. The Hoppip backs up looking back and forth not knowing where to run anymore. Something had scared it other than you, the question was what?

Mediville – Please reply in lemonchiffon

Salamencia ~ It wasn’t hard to see why the show had been packed out, the circus certainly lived up to its promises of excitement, thrills and heart-stopping action. The boy who had kindly given you the tickets had given his all and put on an amazing show and almost seemed like the highlight of the evening. Said boy pushed his way through the crowd stopping you before you left the tent, his grin never reducing in size and with energy in bucketfuls even if he was panting slightly. Spitfire greeted your Cyndaquil once again as the two of you conversed. He seemed so proud of his act and the crew as a whole for the show they put on and asked your opinion, you smile enough to convince him that he had entertained you. He then offered you a tour of the back, to meet with the other trainers and their Pokemon, it was an offer you couldn’t refuse but a small part of you wondered why he was being so generous. Returning Cyndaquil to his ball so as to not loose him amongst the circus Pokemon you introduce yourself and the boy looks almost sheepish.

“Gah … in all the rush I didn’t introduce myself either, how rude. I’m Zak, it’s nice to put a name to the face now,” he said grinning before grabbing your hand. “Come with me Sal, Spitfire and I will show you around back, they won’t mind at all so don’t worry,” he says leading you away from the exit and towards the back of the tent. Pushing through the material door you find yourself outside on the field but with the parameter cordoned off with temporary fences. There were caravans and trailers attached to trucks for easy movement between locations and open pens set up for the Pokemon. Still gripping tightly to your hand Zak veered you towards the first pen where the Rapidash you had seen performing earlier were resting. They stared at you as you approached and you noticed a female trainer grooming one of the fiery horses. She turns to see who was approaching and frowned a little at your presence.

“Did you get permission to bring a stranger backstage Zak, you know the ringmaster wouldn’t be happy about it, you know that we’ve caught a few spies trying to copy our acts wandering ‘harmlessly’ backstage before,” she asked with a stern look.

“Don’t worry Laura, Sal is cool he’s a Pokemon trainer not a spy, he only came to the show because I gave him tickets as thanks for finding Spitfire when he ran away.” Laura looks you up and down making her own assessment before her look softens.

“Alright Zak but on your head if he turns out to be anything but. I apologize if I seem harsh but we have to be careful, like I said our show is so popular we’ve had many people try to steal our tricks and acts.” She pulls on her Rapidash’s reign the horse lowering its head so you could pet it and allows you to feed it an apple she had in a basket. They were beautiful creatures indeed and after a short while Zak moved you on to another pen with the Donphan. He spoke briefly with their tamer as you watched the small elephants rolls around the ground in circles chasing one another before stopping for food and water. The Donphan tamer showed off his Pokemon and explained to you their act and how long they had worked on it giving you a small lesson on the creatures themselves before Zak was tugging you away again.

Soon you had seen every Pokemon and trainer that had performed in the show and Zak was steering you towards one last caravan. Outside of it sat a familiar looking trainer still in his stage costume with an Aipom sitting on his lap. The 3 others Aipom were practicing their act for the next show making a pyramid whilst they juggled fruit, probably their dinner, with their free tails.

“Hey Tyler, great show eh!” Zak said as you both approached causing the trainer to look up from the tiny monkey on his lap. He smiled at his friend and stood up causing Aipom to leap onto the ground.

“Hey Zak, yeah it was good,” he said a little down, possibly due to the actions of the Aipom he had been holding, he had appeared very embarrassed at the time.

“Don’t be like that; you recovered well, worst things have happened. Anyway I have some new that may cheer you up.” He said turning to you.

“I brought Sal here, he’s a trainer and he could help with Aipom.” He stated simply leaving you wondering what he meant, but it was clear that he had needed you to come here.

“I’m sorry, I did want to show you around, I just thought you might be able to solve a problem of ours at the same time,” Zak said sheepishly as Tyler began to explain.

“All the Aipom you see here have been with me for a couple of years now, we travelled the world performing our act, but recently this Aipom has stopped wanting to perform. It would run off the stage when its time came to perform like earlier. It seems almost afraid especially with the more dangerous stunts but at the same time been picking fights with the other circus Pokemon. I don’t understand it but Zak had a theory. He suspects that Aipom wants a Pokemon battle, and I was hoping that giving it a chance to battle would calm it down and get this rebellious streak out of its system. Most of the circus Pokemon have never battled before including Aipom so I can understand why its curious about trying it out. The Ringmaster won’t let our Pokemon battle each other in case of injury.

“If you’re a trainer, would you mind battling Aipom and I with your Pokemon?” Tyler asked looking at you with pleading eyes.

Ocean of Mystery – Please reply in deepskyblue

AiedialEclipsed ~ There was a deep beauty all around and all the Pokemon seemed to appreciate it. They went about their own business happily frolicking with others they met and the odd one interacted with your own. They seemed to be at peace and even the presence of humans in the crystal clear waters had not disturbed them. Jonah seemed to know his way around these waters well and it was safe to assume that he had been here before and the local Pokemon seemed comfortable around him, around someone who was safe and harmless to them. Gemma fit in perfectly enjoying her natural environment but it only took one boisterously little seahorse to remind her of the reasons that you had come here. Bubbles popped off her impenetrable shell proving to be more of an annoyance than painful but it got the desired effect. She spun around to face the cheeky little Horsea that stared at her with a look that dared her to act, to bring it on so to speak. It swum back and forth as if pumping itself up and you thought of it as rather cute despite its aggressive nature. It was trying its hardest to look threatening but with its cheeks bulged out and its red eyes shining it still looked cute.

Your quick to accept the challenge however, this could prove to be an interesting fight. The wild Water Pokemon in the surrounding area had stopped their activities to stare upon the budding fight as if sensing the tension in the sea. You issue orders to Gemma who is ready for her first ever Pokemon battle. She clamps down her shell tightly as it shines brightly becoming harder and even more impenetrable, it would be hard to land a painful hit on her now even if she sacrificed some speed through the weight gain. Horsea quickly made a move of its own and as Gemma opened her shell it met her with a piercing gaze, the Leer making Gemma shudder and panic a little, that Horsea was fiercer than it looked! Taking the opportunity Horsea spat out more Bubbles that popped against her skin, some making it inside her shell due to her hesitation causing a gasp of pain to bubble into the water. Gemma clamps shut on instinct and shakes off the attack, making her next move whilst she still could. Concentrating hard and pouring her energy into the concentration, a pair of mirror Copies of herself shimmer beside her before taking form. Horsea doesn’t know what to make of the trio of Clamperls not having seen such a foreign move before and pauses, but a pause was all Gemma needed. The trio of Bi-valves swam as fast as their Iron Hard shells could go making a spiral of current in their wake. Horsea looks on wide eyed as the pair of Clamperls surround it swimming faster and faster making a funnel that drug it down. The Whirlpool had Horsea trapped and forced it into the ground with a thud. Jonah watches your first battle intensively smiling at you success as Seel claps its flippers together in encouragement. You smile over to them feeling the rush that battling brings on and turn to see how Gemma was faring. The three of them were slowing tiring from having to pull their weight and you see a rainbow beam of energy slam into one of the Copycats fizzling it out startling Gemma who stops swimming to stare at Horsea, its remaining mirror image stoicly beside her; it appeared that it also had some tricks up its non-existent sleeves.

Horsea looked a little more beaten but Gemma had used a lot of energy almost immediately, still, neither wanted to back down from the fight. You notice that the Pokemon watching the battle had thinned out a little, and some of them even looked nervous to be there torn between that and the curiosity of who would win. Another flash of red out of the corner of your eye somewhere in the distance had you swivelling around only for empty sea to fill your vision. Jonah cast a worried glance at you hoping that this was not all too much for you since it was your first underwater experience. Maybe you were experiencing embargo? You just had the feeling that something was out there, following you but with a battle to concentrate on you find yourself torn as well.

OoC: Ironic how this is the longest I’ve ever taken to reply, yet the “Big Freeze” struck my area on Wednesday, so I’d theoretically have more time…

“Gah … in all the rush I didn’t introduce myself either, how rude. I’m Zak, it’s nice to put a name to the face now,” the young boy said in response to Sal’s question, and he grabbed Sal’s hand. “Come with me Sal, Spitfire and I will show you around back, they won’t mind at all so don’t worry,” Zak continued as he led Sal towards the back of the tent. Through the back door of the tent, he found himself walking into a field, marked off with fences. Caravans and trailers were attached to trucks around the area, and pens had been set up for the Pokémon. Sal was quite taken aback by the amount of care that had been put into all of the backstage areas. Still holding on to Sal’s hand, Zak led him to the nearest pen, where the Rapidash that performed earlier were resting, one being groomed by a female trainer. The Rapidash turned and stared as Zak and Sal approached, and the trainer followed suit, and frowned as she noticed Sal.

“Did you get permission to bring a stranger backstage Zak, you know the ringmaster wouldn’t be happy about it, you know that we’ve caught a few spies trying to copy our acts wandering ‘harmlessly’ backstage before,” she asked, carefully assessing Sal, who was slightly shocked to hear this, as Zak had reassured him beforehand that no-one would mind.

“Don’t worry Laura, Sal is cool he’s a Pokémon trainer not a spy, he only came to the show because I gave him tickets as thanks for finding Spitfire when he ran away,” Zak responded, as the trainer, who Sal assumed was ‘Laura’, finished her examination, and the look on her face softened.

“Alright Zak but on your head if he turns out to be anything but. I apologize if I seem harsh but we have to be careful, like I said our show is so popular we’ve had many people try to steal our tricks and acts.” Sal sighed with relief, pleased that Laura trusted him. Laura proceeded to lower her Rapidash’s head, allowing Sal to pet it. She then pulled out a basket of apples, letting him feed it. He had never managed to get this close to a Rapidash before, and it pleased him greatly. He was quite interested in Fire types, so this was a good experience. Of course, he liked a lot of Pokémon, so this wasn’t a shock to anyone that knew him.

After a while, Zak managed to pull Sal away from the Rapidash, and toward another pen. This pen was home to the circus Donphan. Sal was just as awestruck by these Pokémon as the Rapidash, and this experience was certainly turning into one of the best of his life. Zak spoke with the Donphan trainer for a while, as Sal watched the Donphan playing. After a little while, the tamer came to Sal and showed off his Donphan, explaining their act, as well as the species itself, which again took Sal’s attention entirely, and it wasn’t long before Zak pulled him away again.

Soon, Sal had seen almost every Pokémon that had performed, and their trainers, and Zak was leading him to what he guessed was probably the last of the acts. The two of them came to a caravan, outside of which sat the Aipom trainer, still dressed in his Aipom-coloured costume. One of his Aipom was sat on his lap, and the other 3 were juggling fruit while forming a pyramid shape, which Sal guessed was practice for their act.

“Hey Tyler, great show eh!” Zak said as he approached, and the tamer looked up at the two of them as he stood up, causing the Aipom to jump to the ground.

“Hey Zak, yeah it was good,” he replied, seeming a little upset about something. Sal guessed that it was the Aipom’s actions in the earlier act.

“Don’t be like that; you recovered well, worst things have happened. Anyway I have some new that may cheer you up,” he said, turning to Sal in the middle of his sentence, “I brought Sal here, he’s a trainer and he could help with Aipom.” This second part of the sentence surprised Sal a little, but he realised that Zak had a motive for bringing him here other than repayment. Zak confirmed this by continuing, “I’m sorry, I did want to show you around, I just thought you might be able to solve a problem of ours at the same time.” Tyler took over at this point to explain the problem.

“All the Aipom you see here have been with me for a couple of years now, we travelled the world performing our act, but recently this Aipom has stopped wanting to perform. It would run off the stage when its time came to perform like earlier. It seems almost afraid especially with the more dangerous stunts but at the same time been picking fights with the other circus Pokémon. I don’t understand it but Zak had a theory. He suspects that Aipom wants a Pokémon battle, and I was hoping that giving it a chance to battle would calm it down and get this rebellious streak out of its system. Most of the circus Pokémon have never battled before including Aipom so I can understand why its curious about trying it out. The Ringmaster won’t let our Pokémon battle each other in case of injury,” Tyler said, and Sal began to understand what his role in all this was. Once again, this was soon confirmed.

“If you’re a trainer, would you mind battling Aipom and I with your Pokémon?” Tyler asked, with a pleading expression on his face.

“Sure, I’m more than up for it,” Sal said, almost instantly. “After all, it’d be a good experience for me and my Pokémon, and if it could help your Aipom, then there’s no reason to not battle,” he said, already trying to think up strategies to battle an Aipom. “So, do you have any arena sorted out?” he added, remembering that it would probably not be a good idea to battle here, as the other circus members might step in to prevent the battle.

Hawk rolled his eyes and sighed through his beak at Orchrist's questions. "Of course there is a plan snake, we may have caught you on a whim, but our goal still stands the same. We have been fighting this war far too long to be without strategies to fool the enemy, and that is exactly what we shall do," he huffed little insulted by her assumption of their naivety.

"I wouldn't trust you to follow should I let you slither by yourself pet, so of course you will be accompanied on this mission, but you will not endanger the lives of our clan, do you hear? If word arises that you turned coat and tried to get out of this little deal of ours, I will personally ensure your painful death," he threatens almost beginning to doubt the plan, Orchris seem so self assured after all despite being tricked into her capture.

"Sage will guide you through the forest and keep a close reign on you… don't underestimate her strength, she has felled worse beasts than you." he said making Sage scoff; she wasn't one for being ostentatious, but, despite her modesty, the look in her eye revealed that Hawk's exaggeration wasn't really far off.

"You will make your way through the forest, and Sage will get you up to speed on the enemy's tactics so that you can better blend in. Though you may be a disgusting creature, that will not necessarily allow you to be trusted in their clan. Once you reach the enemy's camp, you will be on your own. You are to gather as much intelligence as you can, if your pea-sized brain can handle that; we won't be sending you writing equipment so you'll have to remember all you learn. When the time is right, we will draw the leader away and then you will take down the snakes from within. Convince them that their leader has abandoned their cause knowing that their enemy, that's us, are about to overrun them. Then we watch the ensuing chaos as they flee, fight, die," he resumed instructions, trailing off with a dreamy look in his eye as Sage looks on concerned, whereas Orchrist looked on with disdain.

Soon after, Hawk grins before raking his razor sharp claws along Orchrist's bindings, allowing her to abruptly sag to the ground, not expecting the sudden drop. She picks herself up as if nothing had happened, perhaps to preserve at least some dignity, and glares at the bird for a second before forcing a friendly smile. "As you command, boss," she said before swiftly turning to the Parasect, not caring at all about the PIdgeotto's reaction.

"Lets make a start Orchrist, we have a long ahead of us and I've a lot to teach you." Sage says before scuttling off through the forest.

"Very well," Orchrist replied as she followed her lead.

It felt good to be have been finally freed from her bindings, but Orchrist couldn't help feeling a tad anxious as she slithered through the forest. There were so many things that could go awfully wrong and thinking about it made her nervous, though she did her best to hide it.

"Sage, I'd wish to ask you something before you instruct me further about this mission," she said. "You seem very reasonable for a wild one," - a remark which she totally meant as a compliment, though probably came off sounding rather sarcastic- "so what do you personally think about this plan, and, more importantly, about this war? This isn't really any of my business though, I only wish to find Dad after all, so if you'd rather just focus at the task at hand, then so be it."

***

"Victory is guaranteed regardless if your questions are answered or not. I am your new Master and you are best to remember that Avatar. I promised torture but if I decided to destroy your human body that torture would be endless; Pokémon feel pain so much more," the Arbok hisses out, making Balmund's skin crawl.

"Y-yes… master," he softly replied as the Arbok addressed his clan.

"The time is upon us, prepare my children for soon we will strike and feast upon them all, we will paint the forest with their blood," Arbok roared receiving more cheers from the Ekans. 'This is insane...' Balmund thought to himself as he started losing all hope once again. Playing along for too long wouldn't do him any good either. Balmund knew he was nothing more than a expendable commodity to the Arbok, and would probably be disposed of at the end. He had to find a way out, but how?

"You posses the body of one of the enemy, one they still believe to be alive. This will allow you to infiltrate their feeble camp, gain their trust and allow us access straight to the heart. We will destroy them from the inside." Arbok hissed once again, turning back to Balmund.

"You," it then suddenly says as it points at an Ekans with its long tail. "You will lead the Avatar through the forest to the enemies camp, satisfy 'his 'inquiries'," it says while giving Balmund a wicked grin, "you know what to do from there," Arbok finishes as Ekans nods and slithers up to Balmund, giving the shiny Parasect a blank stare before slithering away, expecting him to follow, which Balmund tried his best to do in his new body.

While one would say all Ekans looked the same, one with a keen eye would notice a difference between them all, and Balmund was able to vaguely recognize this particular individual. It was the very same Ekans Balmund had first met in this forest. It didn't look very talkative, nor was it bursting with personality, but if Balmund recalled properly, the Ekans was most certainly a being with emotion, and tis a fact that can be exploited. It was probably worth the try. Information is a valuable resource, and if Balmund played his cards right he might just get a lot of it.

"So, you're going to satisfy my inquiries, eh? Why don't you first talk to me about your dead friend?" Balmund asked as he payed close attention to the Ekan's reaction. Ultimately, he hoped to extract information not only about the snake's enemies, but about they themselves as well.

Forest of Mystery – Please reply in limegreen

Balmund ~ Orchrist slithered through the thick grasses following close behind Sage who was walking with a slow yet determined pace. She had her instructions and she intended to follow through with them and as she observed her more and more Orchrist guessed that the elderly Parasect didn’t exactly agree with Hawk’s plans. The Seviper was feeling nervous about this and the fact that she shared Sage’s concerns was not helping but her cool exterior remained in place. But with questions plaguing her mind she had to interrupt their walk and address the elderly insect. Sage kept her pace but turned to face Orchrist as she spoke, the words Wild One seemed o not faze her and if they did she certainly didn’t show it. Orchrist asked her what she thought of the plan and the war in general and Sage let loose a small sigh as if she had been expecting the question to come eventually.

“My thoughts on the plan are irrelevant Seviper, Hawk has a smart and keen mind and has thought this through.” As she said this Orchrist could sense the hesitance in that answer, Sage was lying an there were many reason’s why. Perhaps she didn’t want to you change your mind on the agreement or perhaps by living in this denial she could convince herself that her words were true.

“This war has gone on far too long and we have lost far too much,” Sage said her voice quivering “ and I would give anything for it to end and for peace to exist between us all, but I am wise enough to know that peace can never exist, not whilst each leader feels the way they do. Both of them want the forest solely for the other group, the snakes and the forest dwellers. Most of us have resided here all of our lives and knew peace for this time, then the snakes arrived and all that changed. So many deaths followed on both sides and I understand the desire to drive the other away but … never mind” she finished scuttling off ahead. Orchrist follows obediently. Stuck in her thoughts the snake doesn’t notice that Sage had stopped and detoured off slightly staring at a large tree. Slithering up to meet her she saw a monument made of wood and leaves wrapped together with offerings of berries underneath.

“I am glad that this has not been tainted,” she said approaching the monument and Orchrist can only wonder what it was for.

“The leader of our forest was lost to us only a short time ago, it was then that Hawk took over. I shouldn’t be saying this but he could not measure up to the last leader but we cannot fault his determination and heart, he really has tried in such difficult times.” Sage seemed to sag and Orchrist could swear she saw a tear come from her eye; this was more personal than she was making out. She spoke a few words to the shrine before walking back over to you.

“I know he is watching over us and will want us to succeed, come Orchrist there is much I must tell you about the snakes”.

***

In another part of the forest you shrank further into your mushroom like body as Arbok towered over you passing more threats and you knew that great pain and suffering would come should you question the snake again. As Arbok rallied his mass of reptiles you felt your hope drift further away, it would surely end your life if you disobeyed but on the other hand it would probably destroy your human form once you were done anyway, you felt so helpless and choiceless. Arbok chose of the Ekans to escort you through the forest and it was a wonder it could tell any of them apart but you guessed it couldn’t care less for individuality, but you could see something different about this one. The Ekans bowed and you were sure that it was the one your first encountered before you were dragged here. Ekans slithered past you and gave you a blank look before disappearing through the bushes … perhaps this could be worked to your favour. Giving the Arbok one last glance, the gleeful look in its eyes sending shivers through your new body you hastily leave the group and follow after the lone snake.

Ekans slithered on with a determined pace its eyes staring straight forward as you caught up to it as it waited for whatever ‘unimportant’ questions you may have for it. You don’t hesitate and straight forward ask about the snake corpse you had encountered earlier and you experienced something you didn’t think possible for this snake. It stopped on the spot and its head swivelled around with such speed that you thought it may snap off. It hissed in fury and suddenly wrapped itself around you squeezing tight and a fresh panic filled you. It wasn’t a good idea to piss off the one chance of escape you hand and right now it was choking you tightly.

“Don’t you mention her,” it hissed lowly its yellow eyes filled with a mixture of hatred and remorse. “She was my sister and she had only left to get food, she didn’t deserve … THAT!” it practically roared before it regained its composure and realised what it was doing. It unwrapped itself from you allowing precious oxygen back into your reanimated lungs and looked about nervously before slithering off faster than before. Looking about you were shocked by the outburst, the Ekans had seemed like a blank slate, totally emotionless but that burst of anger and sadness … it was uncharacteristic for what you had observed of the others. You take a moment to think before you scuttle off after it hoping not to lose it. Playing catch up again you find the Ekans looking torn between its emotion and its duty as it dared not to look at you. This one was different, maybe you could exploit that somehow but now it had clammed up again you may not get much out of it for a while.

Salamencia ~ The backstage tour was proving to be more and more interesting with each passing moment and the true reason Zak brought you here came to light. Tyler stared at you with hope in his eyes. Despite the slight deceit you know that Zak meant well, and this could well prove to be a good experience for you too. You respond quickly and the smile that greets you makes you glad of your decision.

“Oh thank you Sal, thank you. I know that a battle is just what Aipom needs to clear its head again. Do you hear that Aipom, this trainer will battle us, I know its what you’ve been wanting, so what do you say.” Aipom stared up at you and bounced up and down on its tail clapping its hands together with excitement making screeching noises that you guessed were of happiness.

“We better not battle around the other Pokemon, your right that the Ringmaster won’t approve, especially if we injure the others or even disturb them enough that they interfere.” Tyler looked around thoughtfully as Zak suddenly got an idea.

“Follow me, I know where you can have a battle and not be seen,” he said before running off Spitfire holding onto his shoulder tightly so as to not fall off. You and Tyler follow him, his group of Aipom keeping up not wanting to be far away from their trainer. You weaved in and around the caravans and pens set up before reaching the very back of the field quite a distance away from the circus tent and you notice the grass give way to flat hard soil. It looked out of place for the field with the forest directly behind it.

“There was a really bad fire here once and the grass never grew back or so I’ve heard. Add to that I’ve seen many trainers battling here its kept the ground hard, so its perfect, as causing another fire would get us into so much trouble.” Zak looked a little worried at that thought, the last thing he wanted to do was to have his Circus shunned from the town because of an accident. Tyler takes a place several metres away with Aipom throwing its little fists forward in punches. The other Aipoms were chattering to one another whilst looking nervously at you, hoping you wouldn’t hurt their family.

“You’ll have to bear with me, I’ve never battled before,” he said thinking over Aipom’s moves giving you time to prepare. After a few minutes Tyler pipes up nervously.

“O-okay, we’re ready. Aipom go and try out your Scratch.”

Floating gently, rocking a bit in the wake of the Pokemon flittering around in the water, the battle comensed and quickly escalated. As Gemma clamps down upon herself and steels herself against possible attacks, she opens up a bit and is met with a furious glare, which unnerves Gemma to say the least. That moment of hestitation, of self-doubt, was all that the Horsea needed before unleashing another barrage of bubbles which make their way into her shell and pop against her sensitive skin, causing a gasp of pain to escape Gemma. In an instinctual move, she clamps down to protect herself for attacks, before beginning pouring all of her energy into the next move, which summon two glimmering copies of herself to take form next to her. It was then the small seahorse's turn to be shocked at the this move, as it had never encountered anything similar to it! Moving quickly, or as quick as they could with the extra weight from the early defensive move, they began swimming in a circle around the Horsea, faster, and faster they went creating a vortex of water which suck the small creature down towards the bottom of the clearing before being slammed against the ground with a dull thud. Turning around slightly Anna notices Jonah smiling and watching her and the battle... intensely, happy with your success you notice Seel clapping happily, which makes you smile. Turning around, to face the battle, with renewed energy, Anna looks down to see the trail of a beam of energy dance through the water and stike one of the clones, which makes a small pop in the water and fizzles out. Aghast, Anna looks towards the Horsea who was grinning manaically and back towards Gemma, who was simply looking at the young Horsea, she couldn't tell whether it was anger or bewilderment, but soon the the remaining Copycat came to rest beside her unmoving, and seemingly everlasting. Well, it appears we have a real battle on our hands now don't we?

Quickly checking over the status of the Pokemon, the Horsea looked a little worse for wear, but Anna realizes how much energy Gemma used in conjouring the Copycats, and decided to go on the defensive for a bit. With Gemma so underleveled we don't have alot of options! I know! This move might not do much underwater but perhaps it will distract him enough to give Gemma time to attack.

"Okay girls, I know your both tired but we can win this thing! Both of you use Icy Wind, not to attack but to distract! Then, immediately afterwards Gemma get behind the clone and use Water Gun to propel it forward and hopefully knock some sense into the Horsea!" Oh God, I hope this works! Starting to get a bit nervous, Anna looks around at the scenery and notices out of the corner of her eye, the same red flash from before. Turning that way quickly, she sees nothing but the wide expanse of the sea. Unnerved, Anna calls out, "Jonah, come here for a moment! I keep seeing this weird red flash of light! Have you seen it?"

[OoC: I am terribly terribly sorry for the quality of this reply, its just been so long since my last reply, but I got back in the swing of things a bit. Also a reminder that I will be gone from Wednesday to Friday on a trip~]

Ocean of Mystery – Please reply in deepskyblue

AiedialEclipsed ~ Although you should be excited that this was your first ever battle and in such a serene environment. It was not every day you could experience an underwater battle, but there was something off and it had you growing more and more nervous. First there was the red object that kept appearing in your line of vision then disappearing, it could possibly be your imagination but the fact that it kept appearing was making you believe more and more that something was out there, and that something was following you. Add to that the fact that the wild Pokemon inhabiting the area were disappearing at an alarming rate despite their interest in the battle with the foreigners … it all had you on edge. You make a note to tell Jonah your concerns but with Horsea still raring to fight you concentrate back on the battle.

Gemma had one Copycat left and both of them despite their loos of energy looked ready to continue, you decide to play of the defensive and give your commands. Both Clamperl’s release a breath of Icy Wind, the cold wave of air freeze the water as it passes causing the chunks of ice to rise to the surface. Aiming to distract Horsea the attack doesn’t quite reach it and the seahorse frowns in confusion but is distracted enough for Gemma to act. She tries to move behind her copycat but it moves along with her. The nature of the attack is that the copies follow its user’s movements so after a few futile efforts she gives up with your plan. Suddenly a wave of black smoke fills the water as Horsea decides its bored of Gemma’s games and uses its Smokescreen to obscure her vision. You peer into the smoke nervously andaA blast of rainbow energy shoots through narrowly missing you as you swim out of the way. The smoke begins to rise up and you can just about make out Gemma’s form searching for Horsea but her copy was gone, Horsea wasn’t about to give up on this battle yet.

Jonah had made his way over to you as you call him and ask about the red light you keep seeing. He looks at you with concern and almost a pity, it was obvious that he hadn’t and was questioning your sanity. You feel embarrassed at having asked him but you notice him looking around with a thoughtful gaze.

“I haven’t seen a red light Anna, but when did all the local Pokemon disappear?” he asks confused and now concerned. “We shouldn’t have scared them off with our battle, they have seen Seel and I battle many times before.” Seel was swimming to and fro sensing its trainers worries and looking about for any sign of its friends. You still had a battle to finish and Horsea was not willing to back down so easily but with Jonah now as concerned as you it only made you worry further. Something was happening here and whatever it was it couldn’t be good.

(A-are you sure D: -feigns fear- and phew, that's good. Can't wait to see how this unfolds!)

"Man, this place is awesome," Al grinned, looking down to his partner who gave a confident nod in return. "The sights, the sounds, the smells, reminds me a lot of home. I wonder if we'll find any cool Pokemon..."

"Char?" the fire-type tilted his head curiously at the mention of this 'home'. Having only became partner recently the Charmander still knew next to nothing of his master.

"Oh, i'll explain that kinda stuff later," he gave a dismissive wave accompanied by his signature grin, "besides, we have an adventure to find. With a name like 'Forest Of Adventure' there's bound to be one around here somewhere!" Maurice let out an awkward sigh, not knowing whether to class his master as quirky or just insane as he watched him awkwardly scan the place for this 'adventure'.

"Ugh, how far have we walked and where is the adventure," Al gave a deflated childish sigh, looking back at the seemingly short adventure-less distance they had traveled. There were sights, sounds and smells but no life. Not in the immediate area.
"Maybe this was a bad idea, we should just lea- ... Maurice? W-where you goin'!"

It was too late however, the small salamander was already on his way to wherever he was going. That place wasn't exactly far as he stopped a few meters away leaving Alfons to make his way slowly forward. A mixture of curiosity and anxiety at his partners sudden stillness.

"What is it bud- ... oh god... what happened here?!" The smaller of the forests tree's lay snapped on and bushes completely destroyed, as if some large creature had been casually taking a stroll. "When I said adventure... this isn't exactly what I had in mind... whatever caused that, I'd hate to have to meet it." Though this only fueled his curiosity, Maurice however seemed more weary, seemingly knowing more than his naive master.

"Char!"

"D-did you hear that? Maybe it's the-" His sentance was cut short as a small pink creature rushed fearfully forward. Laying it's eyes on Alfons it seemed to calm down, at least, before realization hit. It seemed to be mulling over where it'd be safer, meeting the monster or... risking it's life with the new monster. "Hey! We're not gonna hurt ya! Right Maurice?"

The Charmander seemed to be split between sympathy and fear, turning to the small grass type and waving his arms franticly, "Char... cha ma!"

Whatever that thing that caused all this was he still had to stick to the matter at hand - attempt to calm down the flustered Hoppip and hopefully avoid being trampled on.

OoC: A side-note, I recently went and named all of my Pokémon. The “Vulcan” I am referring to here is my Cyndaquil. If you’d prefer for me to call him by the name I used when this adventure started, then I will.

As soon as Sal had given his answer, Tyler’s face lit with joy, and he smiled. Sal was pleased to see this, as it reassured him that he had made the right decision in accepting the battle.

“Oh thank you Sal, thank you. I know that a battle is just what Aipom needs to clear its head again. Do you hear that Aipom, this trainer will battle us, I know its what you’ve been wanting, so what do you say.” Aipom seemed ecstatic at the news, and it screeched with excitement, as it bounced on its tail.

“We better not battle around the other Pokemon, your right that the Ringmaster won’t approve, especially if we injure the others or even disturb them enough that they interfere,” Tyler said, looking around, while deep in thought. Zak soon interrupted this thought, as he had an idea of his own.

“Follow me, I know where you can have a battle and not be seen,” he said, before running off, his hand keeping Spitfire steady as the Cyndaquil sat on his shoulder. Sal and Tyler followed, with the troop of Aipom staying behind the two of them, wanting to be with their trainer. Zak led the pair of them through the caravans and pens, until they reached the far edge of the field, now quite far from the circus. Sal saw that the grass had stopped growing here, and all that was left was what appeared to be hardened soil. At the edge of this soil arena was a forest, making the arena look quite unnatural.

As he wondered what had happened, Zak, as if he knew what Sal was thinking, soon said, “There was a really bad fire here once and the grass never grew back or so I’ve heard. Add to that I’ve seen many trainers battling here its kept the ground hard, so its perfect, as causing another fire would get us into so much trouble.” Zak seemed a little disturbed by this thought, probably not wanting the circus that he was working for to be run out of town for a fire destroying the village. Sal realised that Zak had brought this up because he knew that Sal had a Cyndaquil too, and that Sal may well battle with him. Tyler stood in position, a few metres or so from Sal, with his Aipom in place too, punching the air in front of itself. The other Aipom seemed a little nervous, talking amongst themselves, probably wondering if their friend would be safe.

“You’ll have to bear with me, I’ve never battled before,” Tyler said, as he prepared himself, thinking over something, which Sal guessed was the moves Aipom could use. Sal used the time this gave him to decide on his Pokémon. The decision didn’t take him long, as this was his first battle since he started his adventure, so he selected his first Pokémon. He reached for his trusted partner’s Pokéball, before throwing it out into the battlefield.

“Ok, Vulcan, you’re my choice for this battle,” he said, as the Cyndaquil appeared before him. Vulcan took one look at Tyler, noticing his nerves, and looked back at Sal, seeming a little shocked that his trainer would pick on the weak. “Don’t worry, my friend,” Sal said, beginning to explain the situation, “Tyler asked me to battle him. It’s to try and help Aipom, so give it your best.” The Fire Mouse simply nodded.

After a few minutes or so, Tyler, still nervous, spoke once more. “O-okay, we’re ready. Aipom go and try out your Scratch.”

“Ok, then let’s try this,” Sal said, now ready to battle, but also trying to give Aipom a chance to get used to battling, “Vulcan, Skull Bash Aipom with all you’ve got, then drive a Crush Claw into it.”

Forest of Mystery – Please reply in limegreen

Pokemaniacneo ~ This forest promised you adventure and yet so far all it had provided was a pretty scenery for a picture, oh that and the signs of something very large roaming around. The snapped branches, destroyed flowers and bushes and the large footprints in the soft dirt had you suddenly feeling less bored and very much nervous. You decided to plod on nether the less and only hope you don’t encounter the ‘thing’ that left this mess. It didn’t take long after that to encounter the next signs of the life in the silent forest as a hasty little Hoppip bursts through some bushes to come nearly to a crashing halt before you. It looked terrified of something it was running from and now also very nervous about your presence. Intrigued by the little plant and try to calm it down enough for it to stay and speak to it in a soothing manner. It stares at you and it appears at first that your words had an impact as it looked calmer but as Maurice began to frantically wave his arms and speak in a panic Hoppip looked afraid all over again. You try to stop Maurice’s antics as he was obviously startling Hoppip but a light breeze picks up and Hoppip’s attention is instantly drawn away from you both. It looks back from whence it came with the same terrified expression. The wind picks up and it gently lifts off the ground squeaking in panic before it dies down.

Hoppip suddenly decides that you’re a safer option and runs over to you and hides behind your leg. This does nothing to ease Maurice’s concern and he is now torn between defending you and taking a position behind your free leg. A sound echoes, footsteps that make the ground shake a little. You begin to back up not knowing whether to fight or run as far away as possible. A loud primal roar sounds through the forest loud enough to be very, very close to you … too close and you nearly fall over in fear but remain rooted to the spot quivering. From behind the large bushes and trees swathing the area your see a pair of eyes peering at you and you pray that this beast is not hungry. Suddenly a powerful gust of wind blasts into you sending you flying along with both Pokemon, Maurice crashing onto your stomach. Hoppip was less fortunate and went flying into the thick of the forest behind you squealing all the way. As you turn back you come face to face with the ‘beast’ as it emerged through the bushes and your eyes widened. It was the largest Tropius you had ever seen, although it was your first you were sure that it was larger than the normal 6 ½ feet most tropical dino’s stood at. Its eye leered down at you from under its green helmet and it roars again, almost an unnatural sound for the creature but it was very angry and didn’t seem shy in showing it.

Maurice cuddles up to you as the Tropius cranes its long neck downwards sizing you up, it obviously wasn’t expecting you rather the Hoppip it blew away. From your vantage point you tear your eyes away from its piercing stare and notice that one of its wings had a nick in it possibly an injury or a birth defect but it was its leg that was intriguing. Its front right leg had dried blood circling the entire limb; it was holding the weight off it so it must still be hurting. It was unusual wound and could be the cause of Tropius’ anger but would you dare to try to help it, it may very well trample you anyway!

Salamencia ~ With an appropriate setting far enough away from the circus and an opponent ready to fight you gear yourself up for your first ever battle. Since it was your first battle you went your first partner Pokemon, a decision that easy to make, and he appeared in a flash of white light. Aipom gave its trainer a look at the familiar Pokemon before it but it didn’t take long for the little monkey to register that this was a different Cyndaquil and somehow it seemed to look more confident by the match up. Tyler is full of nerves and speaks to himself as if mentally listing all of Aipom’s attacks before issuing an order to an ever growing impatient monkey. Meanwhile Vulcan was giving you face bearing a curious questioning expression wondering why you were taking on this trainer in such a state and you quickly explain your actions. The Cyndaquil shrugs, a battle is a battle and this was his first so he would go all out to win even if he was ‘supposed’ to help out a new ‘friend.’

Aipom is first to act and runs forward ready to strike and upon hearing your commands Vulcan lowers his head and powers up the muscles in his hind legs preparing to ram the monkey. Tyler looks even more concerned at the strong attacks you ordered and shivered at the thought of his Aipom getting hurt, even Zak frowned watching as the battle commenced. Aipom reached Vulcan and delivered two Scratches across his bald head with his paws before the Cyndauil launched like a miniature cannon. Aipom squealed as it was launched through the air hitting the hard ground with a thump and Tyler looked like he was about to cry, if the ringmaster saw what he was doing to one of his acts he would be strung up for sure! Zak winced and gave you an astonished look not quite sure what you thinking practically battering Aipom so early on. Vulcan looked back at you wondering what to do next as Tyler urged Aipom up, the monkey obliging shaking the dust off its fur as it gave a little frown at the Cyndaquil before smiling brightly again … hmmm. Well Aipom didn’t look too badly injured after that attack after all and it seemed almost happy to be against such a strong opponent.

“Are you alright Aipom? You can stop if you want, I don’t want you to get hurt”, Tyler asked with a quiver to his voice and Aipom rolled its eye squeaking something over its shoulder that made the tamer shut his mouth and frown. Aipom seemed annoyed that its trainer had such little faith in it and would pull it out of a battle.

“O-Okay then,” Tyler mutters and his eyes widen as he spots Vulcan running on his little legs toward Aipom his fist glowing white as hit little claws appeared to elongate ready to tear through flesh.

“Oh no … oh think … Sand Attack!” Tyler says afraid for his Pokemon as Aipom is quick to act not as held back as his trainer by such emotions. Vulcan swipes his arm forward as Aipom dive-rolls out of the way completing the manoeuvre with series of summersaults and twists using its circus training to compensate for its lack of experience. It completes a full circle before dancing sweeping up sand and dust from the ground with its long tail flinging it towards Vulcan hitting him right between the eyes. Vulcan squeaks and rubs his eyes furiously as Aipom bounces back and forth ready to attack again. Although Tyler was very green with battling Aipom had been waiting for such an opportunity for a very long time and its determination and stamina would be difficult to beat.

"Phew, glad we got that sorted then," Alfons smiled briefly at the Hoppip who seemed to have calmed down considerably.

A short lived moment of peace as Maurice began flailing, "Chaaar! Char!" Whatever he said it seemed to have the oppisite effect, sending the small grass type back into a sense of panic.

"Maurice, calm down, you're scaring it," Alfons scolded, looking down to the too panicking Pokemon.

"Look, everything's going to be fine, don't worry about it..."
However, the small cotton-Pokemon looked bad, a frightened expression remaining on it's face. A sudden gust of wind picked the light-weight, causing it to float whilst squealing in panic, landing with a light thud as the winds died down. It seemed to want to take it's chances with the red-head, hiding behind the boys leg.

"Guys, I'm sure it's just nothing," Alfons perked up confidently, hiding any sense of insecurity in attempts to convince himself that perhaps there wasn't a 'beast'. "I bet there's a logi-" A loud roar filled the area and one thing's for sure - it was close. "Uh... maybe a spoke too soon." The boy felt his feet and legs lock up, he wanted to move, to run but for some reason he was unable to... Two glowing eyes could be seen peering almost maniacly from the overgrowth of the forest. "O-oh... crap!"

All of a sudden Alfons felt his whole body propelled through the air. The whipping wind sending him crashing straight down with the small salamander soon to follow. Needless to say the poor light-weighted Hoppip didn't stand a chance, squealing all the way into the depths of the forest from the sheer force of the gale.

Now there it was, face to face with 'the beast'. The large dinosaur-like Pokemon towered over the two easily, heights reaching what could be expected to be a good amount over the normal size for these creatures.

"Oh... man...w-we're in t-trouble," was all the normally cocky red-head could mutter, bending down at the sheer sight of the creature as it scanned the boy and the small Charmander whom had resolved to clinging desperately in fear to his master.

Even through the fear the boy couldn't help but avert his gaze for a moment... and then it hit him. The creature's wing seemed to have been damaged somehow... but moreso, the entire circumference of it's leg was smeared in blood. He couldn't tell how old the injuries were but one thing was for sure, he was in a lot of pain, moving in a way that it would not exert pressure on the leg.

It was all well and good knowing this but it was a giant and there was no way he could risk reasoning with it. What could the two do? They were new in this region and had little to no medical supplies, not to mention the extreme size of the beast.

"That look... it could crush us at any moment, think Alfons think," the boy panicked, going between attempting to confort the small lizard and formulate a plan to subdue the beast. To reason with something so large it seemed impossible. Biting his lip he grabbed the Level Ball hanging from his belt. His grip loosened as soon as he realized the size of the area... there was no way a Gyarados would be able to fit without destroying some of the surroundings. The thing they were trying desperately to prevent. That threw out the whole 'respect from size' idea.

"T-tropius! P-please... w-we don't want to hurt you or harm this forest but..." he paused looking at the injuries, his face soften. "You're hurt... we want to help you! But we can't if you continue to rampage that! You're only gonna make it worse for yourself and the other Pokemon in the forest too!"

Alfons gulped, and in a hushed whisper added, "Oh man...where did that come from... we're dead for sure..." Standing his ground with Maurice held tighly he used his free hand to grip the level ball once more... if it didn't calm down there was gonna be no other choice. Although he knew Gyarados was still young and not as powerful as most of it's species, it was the best bet they had if worse come to worse. The only thing they could do now was wait and react... but Alfons couldn't help but feel sorry for the large Tropius, if he could help in anyway he was more than confident in doing so.
