The Arcane Realm
The Arcane Realm Unlike other Fizzy Bubbles zones, this zone has been created for the sole purpose of introducing new members to FB's style of roleplay before they venture into other zones. It gives you a chance to familiarise yourselves with how we work and to experiment and expand upon your RPing skills before moving on. Currently it is not a compulsory zone, but if you one day wish to update an FB zone then a prerequisite is that you must have completed an adventure in this zone. While the updates I provide here will be short due to other responsibilities I have inside and outside of FB, they will still provide enough information for you to formulate a decent reply and to RP to your highest standard. Please remember that you need to make at least a 300 word reply or you will not receive a further update and while we don't always expect lengthy replies (beyond 300 words), we do expect a reasonable degree of quality. Replies don't have to be long to be good, so aim to give them your best. Rules - Please reply using size 1 font. - Post no less than 300 words in reply. Decent and articulate sentences are a must. - No chat speak. No abbreviations. No icons/smilies. Type properly or I'll ignore your post. - Please proofread posts. It's not only a great way to check for errors, it's also an excellent chance to see if you can expand upon/improve your reply before submitting. - ALWAYS quote your update by using the quote button in the bottom right-hand corner of the post. If you c/p and add Quote tags, your post will be ignored. Also, please don't quote the entire post including updates for other members, only the update that has been written for you. - Please do not take it upon yourself to encounter or capture a Pokémon. The Pokémon you encounter is entirely up to the discretion of your updater. - When using attacks for battle, please state clearly what you are instructing your Pokémon to do, and order no more than three attacks (offensive or defensive) per round of battle. - When in a battle situation please do not attempt to control the moves or reactions of your opponent Pokémon. Be sure to give clear and precise instructions for the moves you want your Pokémon to use, but please do not assume that your strategy will work; the outcome is entirely at the discretion of your updater. - If you're unsure of whether or not you can do something, please PM your updater prior to replying. We hope we never have to PM anyone about editing their reply because they've posted incorrectly. It's embarrassing for you, and uncomfortable for us. - We do ask that you keep a profile of your FB team in your signature which includes your Pokémon, their levels and genders. We do, however, understand that not everyone wants to do this so if you can at the very least provide a direct link to your members post we'll appreciate it greatly. If you do neither and I need some information about your Pokémon, there's a strong likelihood you'll be skipped. And lastly, I'm not expecting everyone to start off perfectly here. Mistakes are expected and I'm more than happy to offer pointers/advice when asked for it, as are many FB members. I'm lenient to a point, but if you've been informed about something that has been done wrong and continue to ignore the advice given to correct it, then you will be ignored. End of story. Below are a list of areas you may venture to, so all you need to do is decide where you would like to travel before making your introductory post. The Arcane Realm Forest of Adventure (Please reply in LimeGreen) According to legend, no trainer can enter this enchanted forest without an adventure befalling them. Mediville (Please reply in LemonChiffon) This well-populated village and its surrounding farmlands contain many low-levelled wild Pokémon suitable for beginning trainers to practice against. Levels are only gained by Pokémon under level 10. The Graveyard (Please reply in Silver) A haunting graveyard where the spirits of Pokémon have been put to rest. At night a thick fog hangs in the air while the restless spirits of those Pokémon with unfinished business rise from the grave, looking for closure that often never comes. Desert of Illusion (Please reply in DarkOrange) A vast desert, filled with all kinds of Pokémon. It is rumored that two special villages can be found here, but is this fantasy or reality? Ancient Tomb (Please reply in Gold) An ancient maze supposedly containing the tombs of long-departed kings which is filled with treasure and danger. You will not be able to leave until you find an escape rope and you can't bring one with you. The Ocean of Mystery (Please reply in DeepSkyBlue) An ocean with many mysteries that have yet to be solved. Only those with Water Type Pokémon can travel these seas, as whenever a ship has set sail, they have never again been seen. What has happened to these ships, their crew and passengers, is anyone's guess, but few are willing to take their chances by travelling out by boat. Silverton Ranges (Please reply in LightSteelBlue) A snow-capped mountain range where many wild Pokémon reside. Many old mines litter the mountainside from the days when silver was heavily mined, but due to the often below zero temperatures, they were eventually abandoned. Rumor has it however, that there are still many valuable ores hidden within the mountains. Last edited by enchantress; 03-20-2016 at 10:28 PM. |

“What time is it? I do recall eating something before arriving, but it would see that I’m hungry already. Alas, we mustn’t be distracted by such mundane things. There is plenty of work that must be done.” Aposteriori thought to himself, as a nice, breezy stroke of wind coursed right by him. The weather is perfect for walking today. Aposteriori is feeling peppy at the moment, he does not know where to head, but he is excited nonetheless. His faithful starter, Charmander the Firestorm is about to go on a ride of life. Already out of his pokeball, Firestorm walks pretty close to the researcher. Firestorm gently wraps his tail around the trainer’s leg, eager to know where they are headed. The farmlands are probably in need of helping hands, and the unpaved road dictates the path to take there. Charmander, though friendly with his trainer, he tends to be mischievous. No one likes a naughty pokemon running around, and pranking others. Right now, the field is wide open, which will probably give him less of a chance to do so. At the end of the day, Firestorm means no harm, and he knows his boundaries before continuing on with a good prank. With a quick pat in the head to his buddy, the trainer eagerly contemplate what to do next. Pokemon: Firestorm: Lv. 5 Male Charmander Profile $>300

He then felt his legs give out, and his body collapsed into the snow. He cursed his week bones in his legs, and just lied in the snow . He grabbed a Pokeball from his pockets, and gave it a quick tap. Emerging from the light was a small candle, it looking excited to see its trainer. The Litwick's face then turned to sadness after registering what his trainer was going through. The teen forced himself to roll over, so he was looking skywards. He the felt a small plop on his body as Wisp tried to give his trainer comfort and warmth. Even when they just met, Austin seemed to have an instantaneous bound with the small, waxy Pokemon. Not only that, but the fire type was easily able to manipulate his flames. "Soulfire..." Austin murmured, feeling his life being drained away. Wisp squirmed with the words, and tried to get into his trainers arms. The draining feeling stopped, and the warmth of Pokemon flowed through the human's body. It always felt like he was hugging a warm, gooey cookie when Austin hugged the Litwick. Of course, most of the time was when soulfire wasn't on. Would he die here? Would he become one with Wisp? It felt soothing... But, troubling? It was hard to completely describe the feeling, but it was lulling him to calmness. Austin started to slowly drift off to sleep, not caring for the snowfall. All he wanted right now was the comfort of darkness. $>300

"Come on man, Reg. Let's not do this now. Can't you smell it, dude? It's all around." Inhaling deeply as if to mark his point to his partner, the wannabe wrestler looks around his surroundings. There was definitely something in the air, a strange sense of promise. The surroundings were lush, the vibrant greens interspersed here and there with clashing streaks from intrepid flowers, daring to reach towards the sun monopolised by the towering trees. The canopy itself dyed the light falling down to the undergrowth somewhat, leaving a foreboding and yet intriguing atmosphere. The Forest of Adventure, they called it. Ricardo thought to himself for a moment, wondering what they would find in their way, but he was quickly brought back to his senses by a light punch to his shin from Reggie. Wincing momentarily, Ricardo frowns at his Machop, the irritation having spread from Pokemon to trainer. "Dude. Not cool. You know you're just as excited as me by this. Quit hiding it." Standing defiant for a moment, Reggie slowly crumples under the intense gaze of his trainer, the Machop knowing full well his words were true. With a huge grin instantly spreading across his face, he turns in place, thrusting an arm into the air and loudly shouting his name before stomping further into the forest. Watching him go, Ricardo follows suit - likewise shouting his own name at the top of his lungs - striking out into his inaugural adventure into the unknown. Profile. $>300

Of course, it's been weeks since Florence and Arthur left home, and their time on the road had already paid off. Florence now had the stories of his recent escapades to add to his regular rotation of tales. On top of that, a new Pokemon had also joined him and Arthur on their travels. A Tympole by the name of Siren, impressed by the antics of the trainer and his Nidoran, decided to join in their travels and turned the duo into a trio. Arthur and Siren were fast friends and were now nigh inseparable. Someone in the town where Florence met Siren recommended that they make their way towards the village of Mediville, and, after a few days of travel, here they are. "Would you look at that..." wonders Florence in awe, looking out at the spectacular view. He then turns to his Pokemon. "This is so exciting! Who knows what lies ahead? C'mon, let's go!" And with that, Arthur and Siren took off once again, Arthur racing down the hill and Siren bouncing along behind him.

"Foon, Foon!" Protozoa cried out, hoping his small and weak voice could be heard through the delusional thoughts this heat was making Chiko thing way too seriously about. "Foon!" Protozoa screeched loudly this time, angry at how despondent Chiko had apparently became over this walk which had so far taken all of eight minutes. "No, there's no use." was a phrase highly repeated Chiko which made it easy to see why Protozoa had thought he became despondent. Protozoa decided that enough was well and surely enough, he had to knock Chiko out of this idiotic thought pattern so he did what any sane person or Pokemon would do. That being, try to tackle him to the ground but this turned out more silly than anything as one kilogram could never knock over fifty odd. "Huh?" Chiko could've sworn he felt something jump at his legs although that could easily have been another illusion brought around by this desert environment. Of course, that was when he had soon realised his mushroom buddy laying on the desert ground with a very apparent expression of frustration. "Oh, Protozoa? I guess I must've gotten way too deep in thought there... Say, where exactly are we?" Chiko asked as all familiar landmarks soon disappeared from view. Profile $

"Well, at least you don't just pretend to get excited about these things," Spark chuckled to his companion, eliciting a short caw in agreement. "I'm getting pretty pumped though. It may not've been the best idea to take on something so daunting right off the bat, but go big or go home, right?" Chord doesn't respond. "Maybe I'll find someone a bit more responsive too," Spark joked. "Krow. Murkrow," Chord sighed back, readjusting himself slightly. "Yeah, yeah. I know you just don't respond if you've got nothing to say. I do the same thing sometimes myself. But anyways," Spark steered his attention back to the task at hand. "I think we should get going." Peering into the darkness before them, the two strode into the unknown tunnels of a forgotten time. Profile $

"Deerling?" The small deer asked, puzzled with his trainer's extreme paleness and sweaty palms. Faun had admired the deer when she first chose him as her Pokemon, he was bold, brash, and had all the qualities she lacked. People made fun of her initially, as the deer Pokemon was a play on her name but she didn't care. She patted the small deer, her hands shaking slightly as she went to do so. The deer leaned up into his trainer's hand, attempting to be pat a little bit better. Faun let out a small chuckle, feeling her worries melt away. She lifted her hand from the small deer Pokemon's head, looking around for a moment. She still felt lost, but at least she had company to keep her sane among all the tombstones of Pokemon who had met their fate in one way or another. She shivered again, but this time feeling warmth against her leg as the small Deerling pressed his body against her; trying to cheer up his trainer. She smiled, but then felt something... off. The graveyard felt, oddly brighter, in a way. Faun really couldn't figure out how or why that had happened but it was almost as if the entire atmosphere had changed. It felt as though someone was looming behind her, beaming with happiness upon seeing such a strong bond between trainer and Pokemon. Faun shook off the feeling, it must just be her imagination. ... right? $

The mawile by her side simply sighed as she shook her head. "You should've seen this coming when they said 'you won't be able to leave'," she muttered as her trainer started to calm herself down. "You of all people should know better than to doubt the power of the ancients..." "Yeah, you are definitely right, Louise," the human replied, despite not having any idea what her fairy partner actually said. She looked around the cavern, searching for some sort of hint of either the correct path or ancient magic power. "At least we now know that there's a mystic force at play here. Guess wandering inside wasn't such a waste of time for me after all!" She turned to her pokemon, who was scrutinizing the elaborate design carved into the wall. "I suppose it wouldn't have been much of a waste for you in any case, huh? C'mon, there should be far more interesting things for us farther in!" "Hey, you actually said something somewhat intelligent for once!" Louise agreed as she stood up, brushing dirt off of her legs as her trainer rolled her eyes at the apparent insult. "Why don't we go that way, then? It seems like it'll be more interesting." Chroma looked in the direction Louise was pointing and quickly nodded in agreement. "I'd say that's as good a starting place as any. Lead the way!" And so the pair of young explorers wandered further into the tomb, actually somewhat excited about the possibilities that awaited them both... Profile-Type stuff $

Desert of Illusion

That is until the harsh heat of the desert started to take its toll on the trainer. He was sweating from his beginning travels. The bandana he wore on his head was soaked to the brim. He had yet to see any Pokémon other than his starter. He was losing steam before his adventure truly began. Flame the Charmander was not as affected as his trainer. Being a Fire-type, he could handle the hotter nature around him. He was walking ahead of his trainer. He would stop and turn around waiting for Charles to catch back up with him. He was happy to start this journey together, a bit oblivious to his trainer was burning up from the heat. Charles looked over the vast land scape, hoping to find some form of shade or at least some excite to help raise his spirits. He didn’t want his first adventure to cause him to melt in the middle of a vast desert. “How you holding up Flame?” the trainer panted as he climbed up another dune. The Charmander turned around to face his trainer, “Charmander, char!” His face showed his deep enthusiasm. Charles smiled. He was glad that Flame seemed to be enjoying himself. The fire-type Pokémon helped encourage the trainer, whether he was fully aware of it doing so. He stood atop the dune and looked upon the vast desert. He wondered what would lay ahead of him? Would it all be shifting sand, or would they happen across one of the fabled villages? He turned to his Charmander and gave a smile. “Race you to the next dune!” The Charmander chirped in excitement. They both began racing in the desert, both laughing like idiots. |
