This is a wholey unimpressive boast, sir. As mine own father refuses to let me forget, 'can' is a rather imprecise and frequently ineffective word": asking "Can I?" will often wield a less desirable than asking the same person "May I?", for example. On top of that, the world itself rarely works entirely in black and white; as I like to say from time to time, "improbable" is still "possible", and the coin is thus capable of landing upon its side! It's something worth thinking about in its own right, methinks.
Technically speaking, most pokemon are capable of beating anything else in the game with sufficient strategy, prediction, misprediction on the opponent's part, and the rare benedictions from the fickle Lord Arengee Themselves. A single missed attack is all that it takes for a Minimizer to ensure that your other shots will fail as well (especially since that move in particular actually got buffed within the past two Generations), and I have personally seen teams of Lv. 1 pokemon take down late/post-game trainers on several occasions! Furthermore, the boast itself is extremely open-ended due to the very nature the Pokemon franchise has had from the very beginning. Playing Single Battles in the main games is different from playing Doubles or Rotations, all of those follow very different rules from the TCG, Pokken Tournament stands out as its own gameplay style compared to those, and one mustn't forget about the PASBL, which was hosted by these very forums for over a decade and a half prior to the recent move to Discord! Oh, and while the previous paragraph does apply to everything I've mentioned so far in this one, it does not apply to playground roleplay (in most cases)- and that's a type of scenario that is theoretically capable of having a clear winner, albeit frequently do to 'god playing'! Surely, you would have an easier time beating us in some of these formats than you would others, right? Ultimately, it all boils down to one simple truth: you should probably put a significant amount of thought into your topics before posting new threads about them. It's been clear to the rest of us that you've been largely doing this on a series of whims, which has ultimately led to you being openly made fun of on the regular. As admittedly funny as it can be to give off-the-walls and goofy replies to topics from time to time, you really do make it far too easy- and as much as I have barely had much interaction with Morg (if any), I can assure you that his recent 'existential dread' topic is not in his usual style! Food for thought, I suppose. |
