The easiest ship between a player character and a rival in the franchise's history to get behind. Hugh also remains the best rival so far. (click for full size) (click for full size) Really great digital paintings by this fan artist. Be sure to check out their Tumblr account for more artwork! Hey look: it's a Swablu in a cup.

Would be interesting to see him take on the challenge of humans, even though I largely suspect that sauropods are his bread and butter. I'm just imagining lifelike humans partnered by their signature Pokémon (e.g. Falkner with Pidgeot, Jasmine with Steelix, etc).

This guy only just started uploading comics about a year ago, it seems, but all of his work is at least a 7 out of 10 for me and the majority of it is 9 or 10 out of 10. The only catch is ... it's text-heavy and all in Japanese. ^^; Soooo ... great comic if you can read it, not so much if you can't.
His focus is more on the video game side of things as it would apply in-universe to the Pokémon themselves, what with recurring topics like:

Would be an interesting concept for someone who would try to crossover Pokemon and Monster Hunter, if I say so myself.

I remember I drew some really horrid art of the Hoenn mon weapons but I have no idea where I put my sketchbook >>;
Have to admit, the Rayquaza one looked very cool. |

And then some of the weapons have parts not attached to the handle, floating along magically. |

I don't think that artist understands how to use a bow. Those bows look really uncomfortable to try to shoot and are probably not that effective.

The Bowtifly, Bowcune and Bowpidash looks awkward, but I think I could shoot the Bowpius, Bowselia, Golbow, Flareon/Swellbow and Bowbat no problem.
And I just outright need the Bowmoraid |

Well those things aren't exactly the most effective assassins in the pokemon world are they? One's a big clumpy horse on fire, one's more suited to healing than hurting and the other's fucking Beautifly.

They blew their chance to make a Bulbasword. I'm so disappointed. :c

OH. Taking a closer look at the bows, I just realized that that is an un-nocked arrow, not some kind of holdy-shaft thing. Ok. Why not nock and/or draw the arrow? Why place it there?

Guys ... most of the weapons the fan artist drew come from either:
Given this, I don't think you can or should blame the fan artist for the weapons' unrealism. If you want to criticize his other choices as an artist, fine, but criticizing the weapons' design flaws is a criticism best reserved for their original creators, not this guy. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ (click for full size) Hooray for more fanart of perhaps the most intriguing character of XY. (Pixiv source.) Here's to hoping Pokémon Z, whenever it takes place, gives us a lot more Malva.

Yeah I want more on Malva's supposed Flare background for sure.
Also the weapons are, to me, like Monster Hunter weapons, which means the more patently ridiculous they are, the better, with a few joke weapons mixed in.

It broke my mind trying to figure out how to properly hold the bow (the first four don't have grips) using that pole in order to draw and fire an arrow.

Olympia: I can see the future. Ash: Future Sight!? Wow! Bonnie: How about we have Miss Olympia take a look at Onii-chan's s'il vous plaît? Clemont: Cut it out! You don't have to do that! Serena: When will I next be able to go on a date with Ash? When will our first kiss be? And what sort of timing? [... ... ...] What will our wedding ceremony be like? What about our wedding night? Me, "s'il vous plaît"ed by Ash, and Ash, our kids ... I wanna see I wanna see I wanna see I wanna see I wanna see I wanna see ...!" Bonnie: What do you wanna see, Serena? Serena: FUeAH!? Umm, uh ... how about the weather tomorrow? (Kinda loose TL in parts; don't have the time tonight for anal retentive precision.)

Was looking for Talonflame fanart last night and came across a number of finds that I thought I'd share with you guys.
First up we have this cockatiel and his owner playing XYORAS and looking at a Talonflame in Pokémon-Amie. Click the link to see the entire gallery! Up next we have our first in a series of jokes about how everyone uses their Story Mode Talonflame to hatch eggs. Here's a picture done in the vein of Audubon Society illustrations of wildlife. It depicts all three stages of the Fletchling family, matching them with birds that exist in real life. Pretty neat. Here we have a salty youth who decided to express his frustration with Smogon Bird the best way he knew how. And here's our second in the Talonflame the Breeding Project Assistant series. This time we have a soft, postcard-like illustration depicting Serena and Talonflame biking around Prism Tower in Lumiose City. That's a popular spot for breeders, and one of my favorites too. Just hold down the D-Pad and go! But this artist decides to take it to the next level by depicting not just Serena on a bicycle but giving her a side carriage for Talonflame and the eggs to ride in as well. It even has Talonflame being the one to tell her when the first egg is starting to hatch! Adorable.
