Reminded by a staff post of one of mine: people confusing "i.e." for "e.g." and vice versa. When you want to provide an incomplete list of examples, use e.g. When you want to say "that is to say," use i.e. It's not rocket science. But so, so many people misuse these two abbreviations.

This is what happens when your exposure to Arthurian legend is exclusive to British visual media, I suppose, and you mistake English pronunciation of "Arthur" for "Author." Why can people not understand that you say, "Bare with me." and not, "Bear with me." Unless there is a large furry creature that growls loudly and has big teeth and claws sitting next to you, you don't say "Bear with me."

"To bare" something is to make it obvious or reveal it. Bare by itself doesn't mean anything (as a verb). Bear is the correct word.

One of the worst pickup lines I've ever heard is "Please bear my child."

That isn't exactly a "spelling, grammar, or writing error" but it nevertheless feels like the wrong approach to romance. When someone drops a pick-up line, their thoughts generally trend toward ploughing or being ploughed. The end-result of that seed germination, often viewed as an unpleasant and unfortunate byproduct of the act of tilling the soil, is probably something that should be kept out of mind.

It's like saying, "Please marry me...I want to experience divorce".

"Patients is a fur chew" was a legitimate pun made in a Pearls Before Swine strip. Granted the setup was absurd (as are many strips of the particular style it followed), but it actually happened.
