Tattoos, Piercings, etc.

If you're a fan of modifications to the body, adding some metal, getting some ink, feel free to post here. Though nothing that's likely to land you as the subject of a Channel 4 documentary.

I've got one tattoo so far, but have plans to add more. Just gave blood today, so I'll probably get another one done soon to abuse the cooldown period between donations. Figured I might as well create a discussion thread in the meanwhile in case there are any like-minded persons on UPN.

One thing I'll ask is that people don't come in posting stuff like 'ewww tattoos are gross how could you do that'. I used to think like that, but now I don't.

Anyway, hope that some people are about to contribute.

No ink, but I do have the slightest bit of metal so far (right earlobe). I have plans for significantly more, including a back piece, but there's a few problems right now, such as lack of funds, depression, allergies to certain metals, and a deathly fear of needles. Mostly the latter.

Some of my plans:
Both ears pierced, maybe a couple-few ones each
One or both nipples pierced
Possibly a small nose piercing
A back piece tattoo
A tribal armband (cliché, yes, but I am part Cherokee)
Possibly the cliché chest bear paw

I have a few other ideas, but that's most of it.

Also I have little to contribute to this thread as I see no value in ink or metal (barring certain obvious 18+ applications) but let the record state that girls should be banned from getting septum piercings. Ruins all attraction. No exceptions, septum piercings are awful.

The closest thing to a tattoo that I'll ever get is a henna tattoo xd; I love those to bits though! I have a ton of paste at home and I like to doodle designs on myself from time to time \o/

Fun fact that not many people know about me: both of my ears are pierced, but the holes have closed because I haven't worn anything for over a year at this point =O

I've considered getting my left ear pierced, but I'm a coward when it comes to needles and I'm afraid of what people will think (by people, I mean the military).

My girlfriend has a septum piercing and it makes her all the more attractive.

On topic: Used to have my eyebrow pierced and two piercings on the helix of each ear but then I got the old Barnes and Noble job and had to stop wearing them and never got repierced.

I have to say that certain piercings turn me off too. There's one that my gf's been threatening to get (can't remember where exactly) to which my response is 'but I don't want to break up with you'.

Ha. I used to think I'd never get a tattoo, but I like them.

The only one I've got as yet is this, which is the symbol for my favourite band, Biffy Clyro. As for future ones, I'm not certain. I'll probably get some kind of shark (likely a Tiger Shark), maybe a Dragonfly, and Molon labe written somewhere (if you've seen 300 then you'll understand).

Gotta think of something for the coming weeks though.

To be honest, I'm kinda surprised at myself for getting them done not once but twice. When I got them done two years ago, it was a huuuuuuge confidence boost for me, and that really helped with all the thesis, grad app, and regular coursework I had to get through. Figured I might as well get it done now, and hope for a confidence boost for this semester (when I have a lot of schoolwork, extra academic papers, and PhD applications to do).

You should get a tattoo of Gandalf's mark. That's what I'd get.

Maybe it'll give you some extra pazazz with the ladies too? ;o

If I were to get a mark, it'd probably be the Summoning Dark, though it's quite popular amongst Discworld fans.

Honestly, it didn't hurt anything like I thought it would. It's kind of like slowly dragging something sharp across your skin.

So while I was waiting for my car to get MOT'd I went into town, went to this tattooist I'd heard good things about. The girl who suggested them to me said that they were really great but had like a two month waiting list.

I asked the guy how much what I wanted would cost, then when they were free to do it.

"Are you free today?"

Two and a half hours later, I have a new tattoo. Got a black puzzle piece to correlate with this cover of Biffy Clyro's album, appropriately named Puzzle:

Might post some pictures when it's healed up.

I did hastily point out that I didn't want the whole grid. Though I've been tempted to get some with dates I've seen the band included, but eh. Getting this one was really quite painful due to it being across the edge of my ribs, would rather not repeat that in a hurry.
