Upload Speed Throttling
Quote:
And it wasn't just SpeedTest.com either. If I tried to load iGoogle, it would load anything which didn't require my location information, but things which did just kept trying to load. I'd type in a word (say "cat"), hit Enter, ... and it'd time out. Not because I'd lost an Internet connection -- I could still navigate away perfectly fine! -- but because it couldn't even upload the few bytes that go into making the word "cat". Now that is sad. But then the problem (thankfully!) went away and hasn't happened again since. I wrote it off as a bizarro freak of Nature problem for the day, but now that Deo is saying he has had this problem constantly for the past few weeks, I thought I should share my story and also see if anyone else is experiencing similar problems. For the record, I hadn't hit any kind of bandwidth limits in any sense. (Not downstream only, not upstream only, not total bandwidth.) I don't do Netflix, I don't do streaming media usually, and whenever I watch YouTube videos I am content to watch them on their default (usually pretty low) settings. I don't do any PC gaming, so that's not it either.
