Appearance: Sweeney is rather tall, standing roughly at 6'1", although this can be difficult to evaluate due to his slight stoop, a memento of his time having staffed the Fizzy Bubbles bar. He is reasonably built - not overly slim or athletic. He is typically impeccably dressed in a bartender's uniform - black pants are accompanied by a long sleeved, white t-shirt, overlain with a well fitted black waistcoat. Rather than the more traditional black bow tie, Sweeney wears a rather short black tie, clipped to his shirt so that it doesn't move. His shoes are brown Oxfords - never Brogues, due to a personal distaste for the embroidery work. His attire is complete with a pair of black leather gloves, and the most striking part of his attire - a motorcycle helmet. The helmet, in contrast to the remainder of his outfit, is an almost luminescent yellow, marked here and there with scratches, no doubt too scars of battle waged in the bar. This helmet is never removed by Sweeney, even when he sleeps.

Personality: Sweeney never talks. His experience with the bar taught himthat his mouth often got him into much more trouble than it was worth - and this is the reason behind his helmet too, a means of concealing his identity from those he may have rankled in the past. As this suggests, he is somewhat of a loner by nature, preferring to adventure solo alongside his team members, but he is not above cooperating should it align with his current motives. Sweeney is often described as something of a stoic, which isn't necessarily untrue, but the man can be pushed to shows of emotion when confronted with something particularly defiling his personal moral compass, something which can be as varied as it is erratic. Other than this, Sweeney is a pretty simple character - having escaped the Bar, he wishes to live his live as he wants and on his terms. Nothing more, nothing less.

Background: Sweeney had a reasonable upbringing, being instilled with impeccable manners from a young age. He was once a fairly talkative person - very amicable with all those around him, and these traits led him to his chosen career of being a bartender. His heart never managed to settle in any one place though, and after a few years at any select bar he felt he had learned all he could from that area, deciding to up sticks and move on. That was until he came to Fizzy. Here he found a place he would stay - not because of any inherent desire to, simply because he found himself entirely unable to leave. The mad antics which would plague his life on a daily basis left his body bruised and battered, scars littering his arms. Eventually he had enough, staging a daring escape under the guise of faking his own death - a sad inevitability which came to claim all those who dared to serve at this particular establishment. Having successfully departed, the man threw away all resemblance of his previous name. Taking a vow of silence and choosing to go simply by "The Bartender" - or "Sweeney", to those too pushy to simply accept the former - the man donned his motorcycle helmet and went travelling.

Bio: Holster is effortlessly cool - at least, she would like to think she is. An impressive sharpshooter who rarely ever misses her shot, the Horsea has bought into her own ego entirely. Such is her confidence that even when moving on land, a tricky feat for her species, she will often take to pointedly swaggering. This more often than not leads to her taking her fair share of tumbles, but these are easily played off as intended, coming across more goofy than anything else. Unfortunately for Sweeney, Scabbard regularly eggs the Horsea on, finding great enjoyment in the antics of the delusional seahorse.

Bio: An eccentric through and through, Joss is one of the two Pokemon who ended up joining Sweeney without ever really being officially captured. Having left his previous trainer, the Chatot began to travel with Sweeney in a somewhat unofficial capacity, slowly but surely forging a bond of sorts with him. Eventually relenting to being captured, much more for his own safety than anything else, Joss has since shown himself to be the stand out oddball among the group, which is saying something given the quirks of some of Sweeney's Pokemon. The Chatot has amassed a number of weird sayings which he happily and proudly shrieks whenever even vaguely appropriate, and he seems to find a special kind of amusement out of the poor luck which befalls Sweeney regularly on his journeys. He rarely instigates these mishaps himself - which is more than can be said for some of Sweeney's partners - but Joss always seems to be there at the head of the chorus of laughter, egging the others on in their mockery of their trainer.

During his time with Sweeney, Joss has struck up a certain camaraderie with Lancelot. Bio: Sophie, while not being recognised as his official "starter", is the Pokemon who has been with Sweeney the longest - and one of the only among his group that knew him long before he began his bartending circuit. The Solosis was a family Pokemon, gifted to Sweeney on one of his birthdays - the exact one neither can remember, but it was certainly a matter of a marked occasion as opposed to any run of the mill birthday. The pair had a rocky relationship to begin with - Sophie had the unfortunate ability to easily, and often involuntarily, look into the minds of others, and Sweeney found this to be a grave violation of his privacy. However, this ability would eventually become incredibly handy for the trainer, with Sophie being able to memorise orders from punters and relay them to Sweeney effortlessly, allowing the pair to become an incredibly efficient team. This psychic bond that formed between the pair also allows Sweeney to communicate with those he wishes to after having taken his vow of silence, a rather fortunate side effect of their relationship.

Sophie, while being for the most part mild mannered and slow to anger, is very easily provoked by the antics of Marco. The rational thinker cannot for a second begin to understand the "childish" impulses which drive the young Fighting type, and is not shy of voicing her disdain for his boisterous ways, something which irks Marco to no end.

Bio: Marco was the first Pokemon Sweeney came across when he began his job at the bar. The scrappy young Pancham was the leader of a local gang of Pokemon who were attempting regular raids on the establishment, with distinctly mediocre results. His tenacity was there, but the residents who frequented the bar would quite easily dispatch of him and his roving vagabonds every time he assaulted the place in his quest for food and bounty. To add insult to injury, it often seemed that they never even noticed he was there, batting him aside without a care during their roughhousing. Sweeney, being new to the area himself and slowly coming to realise what a terrifying place it was for a trainer, much less a simple wild Pokemon, found himself feeling sympathy for the Fighting type when eventually, his gang abandoned him for one too many failed routs. Deciding to take Marco in, Sweeney ended up sparking a quick rapport with the Pancham, who would help him with his bartending.

While well meaning, Marco's headstrong attitude and regular gaffs often land Sweeney in more hot water than the Pancham would reasonably be worth, but luckily for the Fighting type, his trainer has long since become too jaded to fully attribute his abysmal time to the Pancham alone - his own luck had to play some part. This exuberant nature of Marco's often puts him at odds with Sophie, Marco considering the Solosis something of a busy body.

Having triumphed over the Halloween Eldritch Champion, Marco finally evolved. While still as boisterous as ever, the Pangoro is a little more aware of his physical stature, and tries his best to restrain his physicality for the sake of avoiding harming others unintentionally.

The worst of these - and the one which brings the most grief to his trainer - is the way the Salandit is so impressionable. This has left him easily brought under the wing of Marco, who is more than happy to have something of a sidekick to join him in his escapades. Samson has a similarly outgoing disposition when compared to Marco, but is slightly more reserved, able to discern when situations would truly go against his favour and holding back where Marco blindly charges in anyway. Despite this slight show of maturity, the Salandit is convinced that he will evolve at some point during his tenure under Sweeney... despite this being literally impossible. Of course, Samson doesn't yet know that. Sweeney hopes he never will.

Appearance: Connie stands at a little taller than 5'3", though her rather rugged hiking boots add a good inch worth of lift to this. Her eyes are a striking violet - where she got her middle name - and her pale blonde hair is typically drawn into a ponytail; when worn down it becomes apparent that the tips had been dyed a faded blue. She has an athletically slim build, with a daintiness which gives the impression of recreational sport for vanity reasons as opposed to one borne of manual labour. Her attire is fairly simple, a light green summer blouse with arms cutting off halfway down the forearm accompanied by high waisted denim shorts. On her right wrist is an intricate bangle with a strange gem set in the centre, a family heirloom Connie desperately tries to avoid questions about but is too prideful to hide. An obviously expensive pair of black aviator sunglasses are perpetually hanging around her neck. Her hiking boots are a dark crimson, the awkward colour matching of her outfit betraying a more flighty and immature side. Besides her boots, the only other sensible accessory she has is an ill fitting rucksack, burly and beige, almost comically large for her frame.

Personality: Connie is a generally cheerful girl, extroverted and always willing to help those in need. She holds a very distinct image of what an ideal Pokemon trainer is, a rather traditionalistic outlook of impeccable moral character, broadly beloved by those they help and more than ready to sacrifice themselves in the name of a larger cause. This assumption makes her a little naive, although she is not entirely blind to the more murky side of life, and will react fiercely to attempts to swindle her once she is aware of it. Her naivete extends to her wider world view to an extent, with her being demonstrably sheltered, and she has a misplaced sense of pride in her upbringing which gives her a vicious stubborn streak. This entitled attitude is something she has been trying hard to overcome, but nurture is not something so easily broken, though this has been helped somewhat by her awkward falling out with her family.

Background: The estranged daughter of a wealthy but minor noble, a branch family to a much more powerful aristocratic dynasty. Connie has lived her life in relative luxury, receiving the best instruction in anything she turned her hand to, including Pokemon battling - something which has an especially reverent place in her lineage as the means through which her ancestors gained their aristocratic titles. Despite her upbringing, Connie always had something of a rebellious streak, unwilling to observe many of the traditions upon which her families continued existence as nobles relied. This came to a head when she rejected an arranged marriage outright, leaving to her deciding to break ties with her family and go on a journey, both to improve her abilities as a trainer and to gain a more nuanced world view, painfully aware of her narrow outlook. With only a few mementos she set out, determined to return a trainer capable of overturning the rotten hierarchy she had been subjected to.

Bio: Despite appearances, Cornish is a Pokemon who loves to battle. He has found in Melvin a kindred spirit, and the pair can regularly be found sparring with one another in an attempt to push themselves further. Unlike Melvin, Cornish prefers a much more direct approach to battle, which is entirely in line with his frank personality. He can come across as stern and driven, although this is largely due to a simple mind rather than anything driven by malice. Outside of battle, Cornish becomes a much more clumsy personality, easily finding himself lost from the group during adventures and causing his trainer far more trouble than he ever really intends. Bio: The first Pokemon Connie ever received. Mon Cherí originally belonged to her grandmother, an avid baker who was helped regularly by the excitable Slurpuff. Mon Cherí is a bubbly and caring Pokemon, quick to jump to the defence of those he views as family, something he inherited from his previous trainer. He is easily pulled along by the tempo of Connie's other Pokemon, although this seems borne more from a willingness to act as a father figure for those younger than him as opposed to being overly pliable. This easy-going nature extends only to those close to him however - to outsiders he can come across as aloof and sarcastic, and to those unlucky enough to be in opposition to Connie he is a brutal and underhanded battler, more than willing to exploit vulnerabilities to secure a win.
