Anyone good with routers?
My new router doesn't let me go online with my nintendo DS, and probably my Wii although I didn't test it yet. I put in all the info but it says it cannot get an IP. Ok, so I tell it to not automatically get an IP but I have no freaking clue how to set that up. I tried my best but then it just says crap like "cannot connect" when it could connect before but not get a IP.
Any ideas? |

Re: Anyone good with routers?
Nintendo has a list of Routers that are compatible with the DS. Those that aren't might work but I'm sure you'll have to do some more work, like put in your IP yourself.
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/index.jsp That link should help. |

Re: Anyone good with routers?
Already checked it out and mine isn't listed as incompatable. I couldn't figure out the IP part and that's what I was asking. <.<

Anyway, when I was connecting my Wii, I had to manually do EVERYTHING. So I'm guessing it might be the same for the DS. Get the MAC address from your DS by going to Wi-Fi Settings, input into your PC on the Router settings menu thingy, and then hopefully, it should obtain the IP address on it's own next time you try it. That's how it worked for me. Dunno if it'll work for you, I just messed about for half an hour and got lucky. xd And if that fails, try this: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q= ... tion&meta= :P

Re: Anyone good with routers?
Well I managed to fix it but I have a Actiontec MI424-WR wireless router. I had to manually set it's IP so I poked around with it for a while till it worked lol.
