Druddi Druddi Gone! (Druddigon TR - VGC'15 style)
So this is a thing that's been in the making for a while and I think I'm ready to share it, so, after the Battle Spot success of my Crawdaunt RainRoom in 2015 I decided that it was well and truly time to revisit Battle Spot considering the fact that well:
1) VGC'16 is over for the most part 2) I missed playing Doubles BS So after a bit of time with a surprisingly good M-Gallade team which could be improved easily even more yet, I decided to build a team around a 'mon which I once tried and accidentally left out a mega for the team, introducing: Team Druddigon. Acnologia (Druddigon) (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Sheer Force Level: 50 EVs: 244 HP / 252 Atk / 12 SpD Brave Nature IVs: 0 Spe - Dragon Claw - Gunk Shot - Fire Punch - Protect This theme of anime related names isn't gonna stop any time soon as 4/6 are anime related, anyway, Druddigon here is extremely standard in my own eyes. Dragon Claw is the only STAB worth using as Dragon Pulse doesn't exactly work on a Druddigon. Gunk Shot hits Fairies for massive damage especially after SheerOrb boosting and will take care of Grasses just as easily. Fire Punch was chosen over Crunch this time around to deal with Aegislash to an extent as well as Scizor and its mega evo. Protect is Protect. Nico (Mawile) (F) @ Mawilite Ability: Intimidate Level: 50 EVs: 164 HP / 252 Atk / 92 SpDef Brave Nature IVs: 0 Spe - Iron Head - Play Rough - Sucker Punch - Protect Does Mawile need explaining? Well anyway, Iron Head/Play Rough are super valuable STAB and Sucker Punch is priority which does come in handy quite often. Protect is Protect Blooper (Jellicent) (M) @ Mental Herb Ability: Cursed Body Level: 50 EVs: 108 HP / 252 Def / 52 SpA / 96 SpD IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe - Scald - Recover - Trick Room - Protect So, the EVs may be rather odd but that's because I'm not the best when it comes to EV'ing defensive Pokemon. The EVs allow to live Timid LO Thundy-I T-bolt and Jolly Sash Bisharp Knock Off from full HP with the rest being dumped into SpAtk. Scald is STAB of choice as it can burn, Recover heals, Trick Room is the main way this team is run and Protect is Protect. Hawkins (Staraptor) (M) @ Choice Scarf Ability: Intimidate Level: 50 EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Final Gambit - Brave Bird - Double-Edge - Close Combat Max HP ScarfRaptor which Final Gambits to take care of nuisances and can occasionally attack with the three most common moves that it runs. Honestly quite helpful with setting up TR. Eli (Raichu) (F) @ Focus Sash Ability: Lightning Rod Level: 50 EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe IVs: 0 Atk Timid Nature - Fake Out - Encore - Thunderbolt - Hidden Power [Ice] Another way to help Jelli is with a Raichu which may seem odd for a TR team but it is really only there to help set up or if TR isn't my most ideal way to win the match. Fake Out is flinch, Encore is to screw some 'mons over potentially whereas T-bolt/HP Ice allows Raichu to put a dent in at least something which isn't named Rotom-Frost/Heat. Kotori (Sylveon) (F) @ Choice Specs Ability: Pixilate Level: 50 EVs: 88 HP / 120 Def / 252 SpA / 48 SpD Modest Nature IVs: 30 HP / 0 Atk / 30 Def / 30 SpD / 0 Spe - Hyper Voice - Psyshock - Hidden Power [Ground] - Sleep Talk Probably not the best spread for Sylveon but Specs is delicious damage. Fairy Hyper Voice is best STAB, Psyshock has always been useful for me against some annoying Pokemon such as Amoonguss and HP Ground is for another way to hit Heatran which is something I lack in this team, with Druddigon being dead weight against Heatran (Actually a reason to run Crunch > Fire Punch now that I think about it). Sleep Talk can come in clutch except for when you first turn wake... Clean version to c/p Spoiler: show
